The Canadian Brewhouse & Grill (Abbotsford) in Abbotsford

Third time here, third time having awful service. The food is okay, overpriced for sure, but the service is what really ruins it. Not giving it another chance unfortunately.

I missed the memo and arrived for a book ahead only tomahawk steak night. Aside from missing out on the steak they could not do any of the menu items I ordered so I went with the classic Canadian poutine - avoid this if you care about quality poutine crinkle cut fries from a bag (not fresh cut like they should be), odd tasting gravy from some powder mix, and shredded mozzarella instead of cheese curds poutine gets a 0.5 out of 5. But staff were great, drinks were tasty (pickle back Caesar was on point), and a bustling atmosphere. We will give them another shot. Would have given staff a 5 star review on service if they had acknowledged the lousy poutine with more than yeah they only have a few options in the kitchen and then charge me full price for a dish I took a couple bites of and then sent back.

Came in for a birthday lunch/dinner. Definitely impressed with the overall experience. First, the staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. The food and drinks were delicious. I had the Doritos Pizza and we ordered a bunch of appies. Loved the fact that the beers came in frosted mugs! Definitely an amazing touch! Loved the big screens to watch the games and the food service was really fast. Will definitely return. Update.... Highly recommend wing Wednesday! The boneless wings are perfection!

Usually like brew house however last week was a disappointment. Got the chicken wrap which was super salty and presented like a tv dinner cold fries.

Amazing hospitality by out new favorite waitress Xena!!! The food was great but she remembered out first visit and was very delightful and friendly.

The first time we went, we got the beef dip and some other items. The beef dip was disgusting. The horseradish was way overpowering and felt like eating lots of wasabi. The au jus tasted off, so we asked for gravy, and the gravy tasted burnt. The second time, we went for their wing special. The wings were small, dry, and overcooked. Also, for a place that allows families (kids), the music is too loud. Just blasting through the roof. Could barely hear each other.

We went for the wings special, it took a long time for anyone to come over with menus and then drinks, after that, the server said she would be right back to take our order. 15 mins later I got fed up when we saw her taking the order of a table that came in after us. I went to the bar to ask about it, the bartender was nice and came and took our order. Everything took longer than typically expected. When the food finally arrived the spinach dip was barely warm and the chips tasted old and stale. We told the server about it, but nothing seemed to be done, and nothing was taken off the bill. We didnt expect the whole dish taken off, but some sort of discount would have been a nice gesture. The wings were good but I got hot bbq when I orderd just bbq, thats partly on me because I didnt say anything to correct it. It seemed as though everyone was over worked and you were under staffed, which I get, but then aknowledge that, and do something about it. I have heard good things about this location, so I hope this was just a one-off.

Classic sports bar experience, service was exceptional and friendly. Went there during Pasta Nite and had the Beef Stroganoff, expecting slightly smaller portion, or less protein, but was pleasantly surprised by the serving. Very good value for your dollar! Will definitely go back again. Parking: Lots of parking available, but may be a distance. Not conducive if you are mobility challenged. You may get lucky and find street level parking near the door, otherwise you are limited to the underground parkade, (elevator available) but lots of parking there. Expect 200m + walk to front door if you are using parkade (fine for me, but not my elderly dad).

Had a few drinks and an Appy at the bar. Unfortunately I should have looked at the reviews before going, but I had never been to this restaurant chain before and thought Id check it out. I had a artichoke cheese dip and it wasnt good at all, the tortilla chips were stale, and the croustinis were barely cooked. When my wife and I sat I asked her to order me a beer then I went to use the washroom. Luckily Im guessing a regular was there to help direct me as no staff seemed to notice me aimlessly walking around looking for it. Eventually found it upstairs. By the time I got back we still didnt have drinks. Either the bartender was having a bad day or my artichoke dip had more personality then him. He never asked how anything was, although someone else at some point did. anytime I had to ask for something he responded give me a minute. And no smile, conversation, customer service, any caring attitude was conveyed. I believe they had 16 lagers, which seems counter intuitive for a place with Brewhouse in the name, pretty sure everything was a microbrewery. I dont even think I saw anything made in Abbotsford? So doesnt even support a local brewery? Odd.....maybe I didnt look hard e

Took my cousin here over the weekend and all of us who were with him absolutely believe this is the best place for Steak, Pizza, Chicken Tenders, and a few drinks. If we could all give 100 stars we would. You guys were amazing and will be back.

Love this place, love people who work here, awesome atmosphere. Best sport bar in Abbotsford neighborhood. Highly recommending to come especially on Tuesdays for tacos. Also don t forget to check open patio upstairs when the weather is right.

pale white girl with long black hair served us, she was extremely rude and ignored us when we called. another server came up to us after she noticed our server wasnt coming to us, she offered to go get the girl for us, but when she tried our server never came! so then the girl decided to bring the bill herself. food sucked, steak was dry and overdone, and some how a fry ended up on my plate even though none of us ordered fries. soup was room temperature, and the whole experience was super poor. they were offering a free shot to anyone who gave their restaurant a 5 star, thats probably because they know it sucks. not coming back ever.

I ordered the beef stroganoff and it needs some improvement. The beef was a little too chewy, the noodles were way too big (think lasagna noodles) and there needs to be more sauce. A stroganoff is all about that sauce. Thursdays is pasta night and the dishes are half price so for $11 it was still good value but for me to pay full price, they need to improve the dish. I ordered the shepherds pie the other night and it was very good.

Ive been three times now. The first time was with my husband and the food was pretty good and the service was ok. The second time was with a friend. The food was good again. The service was a bit slow but she was alone. The third time was with a group of 5. We had a reservation. The server was alone again. The pub was empty. The server was slow on every level of service. The food was pretty good.

Ordered a clib house. They sent me a chicken burger with about a teaspoon of mayo on it and a few shreds of lettuce. Was a lunch meeting so I was just going to roll with it. Took a bite and it was gross. Involuntarily told my workmate how gross it was and my server overheard me and did her best to rectify it. Took it away to bring ne a clubhouse. This time I git an actual clubhouse but it was horrible too. Barely anything in it. Wont be back. Was dead inside so no excuses.

Ordered the crispy chicken Cobb salad and it couldnt have been more disappointing. The crispy chicken was one chopped up chicken strip the size of my pinky finger, no cheese, not even a whole egg only 4 thin slices of a boiled egg, suuuuper disappointing definitely wont order from here again. $23 dollar salad looked like a couple of handfuls of bagged salad with a tablespoon of dressing, do not recommend.

Made a reservation a week in advance. Worst service I ve ever received at a restaurant. Had to ask for cutlery, napkins, ketchup. Nobody s food came at the same time. Server took one persons order & left the table. Didn t see her again for the majority of the evening until we complained to another server. Cheques were all wrong when it came time to pay & the food was honestly not great. Definitely won t ever be returning.

We tried them tonight at a Highschool 30th Anniversary night and my kids were OBSESSED with the Smash burger and salads!! The beef dip sliders were beyond amazing!!! I would highly recommend not only the food but the customer service is out of this park!!!!!

Food is ok.. the fries are McCain crinkle cut, they used to offer free perogies which kind of made up for the mediocre food. Not to mention they always forget dressings and add ons when you order delivery. Now they give you fried pickles which are probably worth 5$ and junk. Wont be back

Was disappointed with my recent experience. Service was slow. The waitress brought the wrong order, and even with a food item I said that I had to an allergy to. She gave me attitude when I told her it was wrong . She then said that I never told her. Even though my friend said she heard me said what I actually wanted. Terrible service and burnt food! I went with my sister and when the waitress came to bring our menus she just threw them on the table and walked away. Service was very slow. As we were there a group of men came in and sat at the next table, the waitress came over with a big smile gave them their menus, she introduced herself and read them the specials! Definitely treat the men better than a couple of ladies. My sisters hamburger on her tater tots were so burnt and crunchy that she couldnt eat it. We felt so awkward and uncomfortable in this place like we were not welcome. Do not recommend this place at all!

Being from the states, its great to get a little northern culture. Im just glad they gave me some flatware before they started LoJacking it.

My family celebrated mothers day 2024 at the brewhouse abbotsford. I was shocked that they did not charge for any mothers meals. 4 out of 6 of my party were moms . On top of the food being fabulous I am so impressed with what they did for moms. Kudos to the brewhouse!!!!

Great atmosphere and good. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The bartenders are amazing. Food is delicious. It is my go-to for hanging with friends and definitely for hockey games! If I could give more stars, I would. Recommended dishes

May 18 2024. It s game 6 of the 2nd round between Edmonton & Vancouver. The place is buzzing! I sit down as a somewhat regular I ll say. What are your specials i ask? Tankards are on for such! I ll have a Michelob My buddy sits down beside me. We talk about how fun it s been watching the 2nd round of the playoffs! So they bring you a shot glass with your printed name on the receipt in it. Cool. My buddy says they spelt my name wrong, I say: I wonder if they spelt mine correctly? I look and see what my name was. A bartender literally took the effort and thought process to type: Ugly Harry potter. No word of a lie! In my entire bar star life that has never happened to me. Hopefully it hasn t happened to anyone else. So my next step was to ask about it? Hey can i ask why my name is ugly Harry Potter? So what does he do? He blames another bartender! Can you imagine if i would have said something to the bartender that was receiving the blame? I didn t say anything other than play it off. That is downright wrong & unacceptable in any era. I would hope the individual who had the unmitigated gall to say that would be let go immediately. That should have not happened!

Probably the best patio in West Abbotsford, hidden gem. An abundance of food & beer choices, and everything is good. Theres usually good specials. Not as many craft beers as Id expect from a place with Brewhouse in the name, but there were a bunch. Lots of TVs to watch sports and such Parking: Upper parking often full , park in the mid or lower level near the west escalator

Fantastic blackened chicken burger. Beef dip had fairly weak au jus sauce. Fries were a bit cold. Atmosphere reminded me a bit of a dive bar; the old boisterous dudes swearing a lot, women up and down the bar getting drinks bought for them Really can t see how kids could be allowed there / who d want to bring their kids there.

They must have had issues with their freezer. The chicken wings had a freezer taste. The meat in their beef sliders tasted like cardboard. I prefer crispy chicken wings, which these are not. Is it really that time consuming to make a fresh burger patty? Not impressed with the downward slid in food quality.

Food was god awful, one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, a chicken club burger, both with fries. Everything clearly came pre-cooked and prepackaged from Walmart. They tossed a little seasoning salt to one fry to make up for their tragedies. 80 Canadian dollars for a meal I could have cooked better blacked out drunk. Signed a real upset customer, I would 0/10 NOT RECOMMEND. Ps. I wish I read the reviews before going here.

Absolutely the worst service Ive ever had. I waited 40 minutes for a pint of beer while my wife waited for a diet coke. I had to remind the server twice that we were waiting for drinks. People at our table whod arrived after wed ordered drinks got their food before the drinks came. Ive worked as a server and bartender and am understanding if you get slammed on a busy night, however I watched the server and bartender both standing around chatting as I angrily sat there contemplating just getting the drinks myself.

Love the wings here. They got so many to choose from, staff is great and overall just a good time. Server was awesome! The food was not good ordered fish and chips, French fries were reminiscent of a Mcains, so not good finish was way over cooked and I m sure that both fish and chips had enough salt on them to be a salt lick. Not good.

We ordered gyoza and sent them back because the dough was raw and filling was cold. We had to wait then finally ask to see our server so we could order. While waiting the manager or owner went up to the table of young girls (who brought their dog in the restaurant and were letting it crawl all over) and introduced himself and asked for phone numbers. The bartender did the same a bit later. The manager kept coming back to hit on the table of young girls. Food came out and we didnt want to send it back again. Fish and chips were covered in raw dough so I only ate the fish. The beef dip looked like something you would get at a gas station. Neither of us finished our food. Will not be back. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Went yesterday for dinner with family we waited 15 min before our order was taken then took 15 min to get drink and the server forgot my husbands drink, waited another 15 after to get our food it was brutal. The restaurant was not that busy and there were 7 people on staff. When the food came out the fish and chips looked great big portion but everything else disappointing. The blackened chicken looks like a peice of cardboard it was smaller then a cheese burger from McDonalds, my mom and I ordered taco salads my moms was all lettuce a dried up peice of chicken and very little toppin, my chicken was dried out as well and only a small amount of lettuce and also little topping it was very sad the bill was almost 200$ and was a burger from McDonalds woulda been better dont waste your money on anything except maybe the fish

Food was pretty disappointing and its a very dark sports bar type atmosphere.

Worst service I have received ever at a restaurant!!! I came here for a birthday celebration with my wife and my elderly mother. We sat down at a clean table near the bar. We were sitting for at least 10 minutes with waitresses walking by and no one acknowledging that we were there. another two people came and sat at a table next to us that was dirty, and the waitress came by their table and cleared it off and proceeded to give them menus. I finally asked her as she was walking by if we could get some service, finally about another 5 minutes went by before someone came to our table with menus, at this time I told our waitress that it was my birthday and we would like to start with my free nachos they had offered me in an email. The waitress took the information from the app on my phone to get my nachos started. I then had to ask them if they had the Dine out Vancouver menus as the festival was on and I knew they were participating in this. We got the menus and ordered our food. Awhile later my wife got her first course of her Dine out Vancouver meal, then when she was done they brought out her main course (still no nachos at our table) I asked our waitress about the nachos and she went over to their computer and I saw her typing away, which leads me to believe that was the first time our order for nachos was entered. We finally got the nachos after my wifes main course was almost finished. We ate those for awhile, and then they brought out the dessert for the final course for my wife, we then finally asked where my mothers food was, our waitress did not know. At this time we said just to cancel her order and bring us the bill. I was pretty upset by now. the bill arrived and I quickly paid with my credit card without really looking at the bill. The waitress walked away and I glanced at my bill, and noticed they charged me for the nachos that were supposed to be free on my birthday, and we did not receive the discount for our drinks that were offered on special. I asked the waitress to send the manager by (who I had seen him walking around just 10 minutes earlier) The waitress came by with a girl that she claimed she was the manager. I told her the situation, she walked away with my bill and came back and offered to give me a gift certificate for nachos on another visit. I said that wasnt acceptable as after this visit I do not plan on coming back here. asked to see the manager that I had seen walking around earlier, she said he was busy. I finally asked for a full refund, and she said she would have to speak to the other manager. She came back and said they would refund it to my card but it would take 6 to 9 business days. I then left after the manager took my copy of my credit card receipt as she said they needed it to process the refund. Well today is 14 days (10 business days) since I have been there and still no refund. Not only am I writing this review, I will be sending an email to the head of the corporation about this incident. From reading other reviews on here, it looks like this is an ongoing issue at this location. I truly wish there was a ZERO star option or negative stars, because this service does not even warrant 1 star.

Alisha was an amazing server and manager to us. She not only made us feel comfortable in the busy atmosphere but prioritized us during an extremely busy dinner rush. Sometimes when dinner gets busy you can feel left behind but Alisha made us feel vip with her check ins and ability to wait on us in between tables. We will be coming back!!!

I sat at the bar tonight, to watch the junior hockey game. Had great service and good food. The experience was good until the male manager (i believe his name was chuck) came out and started talking down to his other staff and co manager. She was doing her cash out at the end of the bar and he came over 3-4 times and made inappropriate comments about her work and continued to attempt to pressure her into working more, even though she was off shift. I would have stayed until the end of the game but left an hour early because of him. Management should never talk to their employees or equals in that way and if they do it should not be in front of customers. 0/10 for chuck. If he is still working when I come back I will be going elsewhere.

Me and 2 girlfriends came in for a drink and appetizer The server was on on point, funny, and gave great options and extremely accomodating. We had an absolute blast and laughed so hard and just enjoyed the space and company.

Oh Brewhouse, your food is pub food, the drinks are decent, but the service....same trap as so many in this post Covid world. Servers doing the bare minimum but wanting to be tipped out at the higher rates based on, who knows. The art of serving needs to be taught again, across the entire industry and Brewhouse is no exception. Engage with the customer, have a conversation here or there, and dont have work gossip in the open. If I wanted to eat alone in silence, I would have gotten takeout.

So tell me why, after waiting 15 minutes for food just to say they don t have the product I want. Then going ahead and serving me the worst nachos i ve ever had in my life this restaurant expected me to tip. The waiter even though she has been working there didn t even know how to split a bill and couldn t even provide recommendations. The Owner on the way out said If you can t tip, you don t need to come back here. Horrible service, Horrible food and Horrible people.

My husband and I came for lunch today and recieved amazing service from Alisha, aswell as the bartender. Food tasted super amazing especially as I have a gluten and dairy allergy... Usually hard to find somewhere that accomadates. Definitely my favorite restaurant. Try it if you havent yet or are debating it.

Absolutely ridiculous. Came here for a birthday on a Sunday, and was told we were not allowed to get wings on special since their specials changed even though they had about 5 different adverts up in the restaurant for wings on Sundays. They would not honour this and also had about 10 different items on the menu also out of stock . Dont get me wrong, not the servers fault since she was new but the management did absolutely nothing and were 0 help. I don t generally write reviews like this but this isn t the first problem we ve had here, and we will probably never come back. Hopefully they shut down soon and a better restaurant can take over.

I do not recommend this place, our of several things on the menu , specials clearly displayed on the wall and table ,not honored. Poorly run restaurant in my opinion,. I will not be back

Was not very busy when we came in and it still took over 20 minutes for drinks and almost an hour for food. The service was very slow and kept having to ask for waters and cutlery. Food was warm and classic brew house food. Parking: Only 30 minute parking out front of the building

Great place to get buzz on while spicy young cocktail waitresses yell Porter! Porrrrrrrteeeer!, as they mule dirty plates back to the dish pit. Will be back.

Employees smoking at the front door, stay away super unhygienic and careless.

Got our drinks and sat there 45 minutes after ordering chicken wings (which was on special) server never checked in about the wait and then eventually we informed bar staff then left. Super disappointed

We liked the jalapeños appetizer, and the prime rib was good. The dessert poutine was good too. Ashley, our server, was awesome.

Arrived Saturday October 28th with 5 people in our group. Waited 15 minutes for a server, and when she arrived we ordered our meals and drinks at the same time fearing that we might not see her again for awhile. Sure enough, waited another 15+ minutes for our drinks to arrive. They consider this a sports bar, but they didnt even have the Canucks or Whitecaps game on. Just college football ( TVs went blank after the game ended for the majority of our time there) even though our server said she would look into getting the soccer game for us. They have one shared bathroom on the main level which was kind of disgusting that women had to share this toilet with pee on the floor. It appears some attention from management would be beneficial.

This location seems to be somewhat poorly maintained. The food quality has been a hit or miss here. Staff is friendly

A good place with a clean friendly atmosphere to share tasty food, a beverage and create some memories with friends or family. The staff are polite, courteous and professional.

I moved from Edmonton to BC and CBH was always one of my favourite restaurants. There aren t as many here and quite spaced out, but I was really craving it, so decided to place a pick up order and make the 45 min drive for lunch. I ordered the CBH donair and upgraded my side to a poutine. I went to pick up and with tip it came just over $30. When I got back to my car I checked and noticed the poutine missing, luckily I was still there so ran back in and staff made this for me quickly. I then drive home and opened my lunch and was shocked at the size / quality of the donair. It looks like someone cut it in half and ate half. I can t believe they charge $23 for this donair. It was all slopped together and looked like maybe someone s leftovers. Extremely disappointed in my decision to come to the Brewhouse in Abbotsford.

Used to enjoy Canadian Brewhouse and it s still a nice place to watch a game but the food and service is consistently poor now. Last 3 times we went here we weren t pleased and had overcooked food from the grill. Last visit included the worst $20+ burger I ve ever had - very dry and charred. Server never asked and isn t seen much so I didn t mention it. Stick with deep fried food, don t expect anything quick, and enjoy the game.

I went to the abbotsford location on a early wednesday afternoon just for pitchers of beer had a great time

Could have been a 3-4 star review but at the end of the hockey game manager waited an extra 20 minutes to do the prize draw which by appearance was to allow a friend or acquaintance to enter well after the game ended and thus magically win this prize draw.

Didnt do draw right after game was over for jersey. Handed out ballets to new comers that werent even there throughout the game. Was given pathetic excuses when asked why they werent doing the draw when they said they were going to. Rigged!

Dropped in for lunch randomly with my husband. Their cream of broccoli soup made our day! Attentive and respectful of food sensitivities/allergies. Really nice service staff. Attentive, timely, and polite. If our server wasnt available, someone at the bar was always willing to help us with questions.

Every item is clearly from the frozen food section. No seasoning and lukewarm at best. The descriptions on the menu do not come close to the food you receive. The quality does not match the cost! Do not recommend.

Slow service, it was impossible to flag servers down to ask for things and one server rolled her eyes at one point after I tried getting her attention after we were left for 20 minutes and still waiting to place drink orders. Food was mediocre, not worth the wait. Its gone downhill from when the restaurant first opened and I probably wont be back

Amazing staff, service was great and friendly, food was amazing! Their burgers are definitely a must try, especially the crunchy Buffalo! Overall would recommend to everyone. Thank you for a great dinner and experience! Vegetarian options: All burgers can be replaced with a beyond meat patty (it was delicious!)

Food was not great...could make it better at home...waitress got snippy when I had a few questions...way too loud to go for a family dinner. Dont plan to go back.
