My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. I had the Harvest Chicken while my wife had steak, and both were absolutely delicious. The waitress was very kind and did a wonderful job, we'll be back soon.
Ordered a bowl for $30, received laughable portions with old looking ingredients. A quarter of an old avocado, 4 tiny thin slices of dried out looking cucumber. A single cherry tomato, what a joke and a ripoff.
We celebrated a friend's 78th birthday here yesterday and the whole experience was FABULOUS! We had an early dinner, and were well taken care of by Jay, who paid us lots of attention, was clear in his communication, joked with us, provided great answers to oh so many questions ... food and drinks were great, too! I also wanted to mention the accessibility of this restaurant. I'm currently in a wheelchair after surgery and could even wheel myself to the LARGE handicapped restroom, something I now know is sorely lacking in many other places. Thank you so much!!!
Came in on a Thursday for a 7pm dinner and we’re seated right away. Really good. Good and diverse options on the menu. Food was a bit expensive for the portion size you get. I ordered a steak frites which is supposed to be a 6oz steak and I got a pathetic cut about 4oz if that. Otherwise it was cooked to the perfect medium rare but it was too chewy even for a medium rare not really a melt in your mouth cut of steak. Also I ordered a cheeseburger with a gluten free bun which fell apart on me mid dining. Mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant from a box not impressed. Super dry. However, the sauce on the burger was good, service was prompt, sides should be bigger as well as all other portions. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you want to get your moneys worth.
Had a great dinner date here with my wife. Went on a slow day so wasn’t busy at all. Our server was awesome and very attentive to our table. I had the rib steak bone in and it was awesome. Got side fries and the macaroni sticks which were amazing. I enjoyed my steak more than the keg.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal here but not sure we would go again. It was pricey and not anything noteworthy. Our server was great, friendly and attentive. We got drinks and an appetizer to start they were brought out quick. We both got steak dishes and they were cooked to how we asked. The side Caesar salad I had to pay extra for was tiny and the dressing was a bit vinegary. There was all booth seating inside and table with chairs outside so it would be difficult to seat wheelchair users inside. The entrance door had an accessible button but the button on the inside of the door was blocked by the gate they use to lock up at night, it would be hard to reach. Bathrooms were nice, there is a separate accessible toilet. There is lots of parking.
Not my go to restaurant in the Fraser valley, but my boyfriend really likes it. I get the harvest chicken every time I come and it doesn’t disappoint. Great service. Our server brought us a free sample of an appy which was nice of them.
Very good food! Love the decor and atmosphere. It was nice that they had some Vegan and Vegetarian options. We ordered the Potato Roll, Fried Mac n Cheese, Green Bowl, Vegan Mac n Cheese and got the cookie for dessert. Our server was very friendly - excellent service. We will definitely be going back.
Joshua was the best server! We would come back just to see him!!! Parking: Great Food : 5/5 |
Had the pleasure of being served by Jeremy, we appreciated his empathy and thoughtful gesture. The harvest chicken was excellent! We will definitely return.
The master chicken was amazing as always.
Could use an update in the dinning area. Foos and service were great though.
The potatoes in the soup were raw and uncooked, the $25+ hamburger was a meat patty from Safeway (at best) and small smattering of Mcains frozen fries cooked in vegetable oil.
Rude stuff who will walk away while your talking
A little to dark I side
Food was good however if the service was more timely and attentive it would be appreciated. Parking: Parking available
I went in for dinner and sat and sat and no one brought me a menu. I was by myself. Meanwhile staff are all going back and forth chatting with each other and telling each other love you. I finally got up and left without ordering.
This was the worst experience I ve ever had at a restaurant. The location is poorly managed, and the customer service was shockingly bad. My dish was terrible, so I returned it. After paying and leaving the restaurant, the manager, Josh (if I recall correctly), rudely told me to never come back. Since October, I ve been trying to address this unacceptable behavior. I ve emailed Samantha, the operations manager, twice and included George, the VP, in my correspondence. I ve called customer service multiple times and even reached out to Ashley, the manager at the Langley location, to see if she could escalate the issue. Despite all this effort, I ve received no response. This level of disregard for customers is beyond disappointing. I m sharing this here in the hopes of finally getting a response to explain why I was treated so disrespectfully. Aman
Was there on a Wednesday night and it was not busy at all. Our server was amazing, giving us lots of options and shooters to try different drinks. The chef also gave us a free appetizer. Food tasted great, would definitely recommend
This was my 3rd time in this establishment, and again the food was awful, service lacking. We had asked to speak to a manager about the food being cold, rock solid potatoes, overcooked steak. 10 minutes passed with no visit from a manager. We had a movie we were going to be late for, so we had to leave. Ive had similar experiences previously at this location over the last 5 years. The date I was with raved about the Langley location, then was visibly upset by the service provided.
Such a rad place to connect
4 out of 6 meals were cold, one went back, one needed new sides. Too dark to read the menu, every table up top had a flashlight out. Over priced food, slow service, Id rather have McDonalds. Definitely not recommended.
Dont order to be delivered. We ordered two bowls of the lobster bisque and two lobster rolls. Tiny bowls of soup loaded with soggy croutons, lobster roll was in toasted, dry, hard ,cold bread, fries cold and tiny portion, salad pitiful....cost? Just shy of $100.....way better food and value elsewhere..... just because you ordered takeout doesnt mean you should be ripped off
My friends and I decided to try S&L for my friend s birthday dinner, it was our first time and we were blown away with the service the food and the atmosphere! Such a pleasant experience we re definitely coming back. I 100% recommend , you will not be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: My friend is allergic to nuts and the staff went above and beyond to make sure there wasn t any in her food and dessert.
I got the Aburi Salmon Bowl and its something I would get again. The Bone-In Ribeye, however, was tasteless, the mashed potatoes were too heavy on the rosemary and the yorkshire pudding was stale. I wish the room was a bit brighter, it was like dining in the dark, and I really like to see what Im eating.
We arrived and were seated immediately. The overall service was great. It was extremely loud in there. People around us and through out the restaurant were speaking very loudly to be heard above the music! The food took way too long to come and the whole meal including salad was on one plate ie portions were small. It would have been prudent to serve the salad and perhaps warm bread during that extended wait. When our meals arrived our steaks were not cooked appropriately. I had ordered med rare and it was more than brown and tough filet. My friend ordered medium sirloin and his was grossing him out bleeding all over his plate when first cut into!!! I had a raw lobster still transparent on my plate. The waitress took our steaks and provided new ones about 25 minutes later. The new steaks were exactly the same as returned ones. The waitress couldn t believe it either! We were hungry and I ate the rare sirloin and my friend ate my filet. Ohh did I mention the astronomical prices??? That the name of the restaurant is STEAK & LOBSTER res The waitress waived the bill and provided coupons to return. We will try less complicated lunch items with the coupons!!! Never dinner again here! We went to Venetis Restaurant in Langley where the place was jammed with people. The atmosphere was nice with soft music playing. We were able to sit across from each other and still hear each other and talk normally. The steak & tiger prawn were fabulous and seasoned deliciously. The butter for the prawns had garlic as well. (S&L uncooked lobster was bland and butter plain). S&L s over cooked steak was unremarkably seasoned and bland as well. Venetis s plates were full including delicious tender vegetables and, the salad and bread came shortly after we ordered. All in the bill at Venetis was far less than half of what S&L s!!! $60 plus tip at Venetis!!!
We love your compagnie but we find a 5 oz for 7$ on happy hour is expensing. When it was 5 oz for 5$ we came more often and spend lots more money. Vegetarian options: Chickpeas
too much time for the pickup orders they onlt care about the dine in .
I chose S&L Abbotsford for my daughters birthday dinner, but our experience was disappointing from the start. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu and an advertised seasonal special. After a lengthy consultation with the manager, we were informed that the advertised special we had planned our evening around wasnt available, even though their website clearly stated that it was. To add to the disappointment, despite mentioning during our reservation and to our server that we were celebrating a birthday, there was no acknowledgment or customary birthday dessert. Our server s unfriendly and somewhat hostile demeanor further detracted from what was supposed to be a special evening. The lack of knowledge about their own menu and the lackluster service turned what should have been a memorable occasion into a disappointing experience.
The most perfectly cooked steak, the 35 day dry age really does make their steaks melt in your mouth. The service was fantastic, and the food was quick and delicious. The lobster tail was not stringy or rubbery at all, and the sides all tasted fresh and delicious. It wasnt too loud or packed full of people so it was the perfect place for a mom and dad date night. Would highly recommend this place and we will be back for sure.
Beautiful restaurant and the patio is lovely! Shared a few appys and salad and everything tasted amazing. Great service too!
The service was amazing. Appreciated the complimentary appetizers. We would look forward to having more vegan options on the menu. There were 5 out of 8 vegans in our group. The birthday dessert was very thoughtful.
Way better than cactus club. Very nice place. And really good food. Definitely a place to check out if you like sea food or steaks.
Love the patio and the atmosphere! But tonight the service was not great ! The server was frazzled, and when I looked around ...not busy at all! If u are going to take my hard earned dollars...1 apply , 2 entries, and 4 cocktails....@$143.00 later...Im not going to tip ! Sorry
Great atmosphere, but food was horrible. Burned the first batch of chicken tenders, second round was dry and tasteless. I expected more from the looks of the place.
Showed up at 9, they were closed. Normally 5 outta 5 we went out of our way to go here,to see them closed early.
Had a much needed date night out and we had excellent service and food! Kalli was our waitress and she was great and we appreciated the complimentary Appy. Food was delicious!
We were seated in a booth with torn and worn-out cushions. Service, food, and drinks were good. Live music gave a great atmosphere. Food : 4/5
Took my husband for his birthday dinner. Food was great, service was excellent. Husband got a complementary drink because the steak wasnt cut correctly. Also got a yummy birthday cookie on the house. Price was excellent as well. Will definitely go back.
Amazing patio. Amazing vibe. Loved the live music! The drinks are very expensive as are the appetizers. Entrees were reasonable price. I would only go back during happy hour though.
Delivery. Lobster roll. Bread dry. Lobster and shrimp contents tasteless. Sad. Was hoping for something at least mediocre. Epic fail. Glad I didnt actually go to restaurant and eat crappy food and probably order beverages or whatever that cost even more. Truly, just sad. I was hoping for so much better. Wont be going there to spend a bunch and then be disappointed
Ive been here before.. always thought the atmosphere is great. I wish there was a little more diversity in the menu but hey food is always good.
Came here with a friend and ordered the wagyu beef dip and the chicken sandwich. Staff didnt clean our table that we were sitting on outside. The so called wagyu beef dip was the lowest grade of beef Ive had so far and so not worth it for 28$. The chicken also wasnt very good. Tatertots were alright. Nice restaurant but wouldnt come back.
Atmosphere is good, very quiet, food is not tasty
The menu includes onions and garlic in all of the prepped food which left virtually nothing available for myself having allergies to those foods. I was able to get a burger which arrived with no mayo or relish so it was dry and unappealing. I was offered the burger to be served on lettuce instead of a bun but later told I could have a bun, however it arrived on lettuce anyway. The yam fries were good but there was nothing to dip them in except ketchup. Curry mayo is easy and quick, so would be my suggestion to add some flavor. The server was awesome. Dietary restrictions: See above. They are unprepared for a simple request of onion and garlic allergy . We had a table for 4 and I left very disappointed with such limitations on the meal for the price paid.
I went for my re do birthday lunch as loads of drama happened on my actual day and I had a much better time. The food is quite delicious and very high quality. I do wish it was slightly cheaper but you get what you pay for and its high quality stuff. My server Jay was fantastic. He was charismatic, very informative on the menu and what it entailed, he was very intentive I never had to wait for anything, and he payed for my guiness which was very kind and generous, something I didnt see coming. Ive celebrated my anniversary here in the past and Ive always had a good time. They also have Guiness on tap which makes me very happy as thats my favorite beer and I find it very uncommon for a restaurant to have it on tap. Love this place, and everyone should give it a shot. Vegetarian options: Try the wellness bowl. Its packed full of good veggies, rice, spices, sauces, and visually Its presentation is amazing. It even has an option to add meat for people who want to try it but arent vegetarian so it goes both ways
Best restaurant in Abbotsford hands down. the sangrias are to die for, staff is so friendly and welcoming, the patio is amazing. They make seasonal menu changes so it never gets old trying new things there. This place is perfect for any occasion and it s a shame not many people know about its whereabouts
Awesome food, great vibe, super friendly staff, my new favorite place! Highly recommended!!
We encountered an unpleasant attitude from the staff when requesting a larger table, despite the restaurant being vacant. The steak I ordered was of poor quality. It was overcooked and extremely difficult to chew. I will not be returning to this establishment. Food
Abby was our server this past Sunday and provided amazing service with great recommendations. the food was awesome and we ll definitely be back hopefully with her as our server !!
Went for Mother s Day brunch. Was never offered free Mother s Day beverage despite clearly being there celebrating with my son. Do not have any non-dairy milk options for coffee/tea, food was mediocre at best.
I have eaten here a few times before and it was fine but we went there today for mothers day and the place has really gone downhill. The food was late, then they sent out half the dishes and waited ten minutes for the other half of the party to get their food. The food was cold, they made mistakes with the order, forgot to put dressing on the salad, cutlery was dirty etc. The tables around us around us was also complaining about their food and wait time. A very disappointing experience
I went to S&L last night with a group of my friends, we waited 2 hours for our food and were quite hungry. The food started to come out and mine never came so I asked a waitress if they had forgotten mine. She said it would be a 5 minute wait for my chicken burger. I ended up waiting 50 minutes. most of my friends had all finished eating, paid and left. The waitress didn t give me any updates on my burger and i ended up having it in a to go box as everyone was ready to leave. I wouldn t have minded waiting 5 extra minutes for my burger, but 50 minutes is absolutely ridiculous. It does not take 50 minutes to make a chicken burger. On top of all of that the fries were clearly stale and the burger was not hot.
Curtis was a great server. Good food, good company. Too full for the nitro. Maybe next time.
Very comfortable. Oysters are fresh and service is on point. I would come back
My husband took his mom to S&L for Mother s Day. They made a reservation for 1pm and despite the restaurant being half full they didn t get their food until 240pm. What s much worse is the tuna poke bowl that he ordered gave my husband food poisoning. He was violently ill for days after. Symptoms tracked with salmonella or a similar type of food poisoning. My mother in law noticed that some of the dishes for their table were sitting under the heat lamp for quite sometime. Plus the raw tuna paired with a deep fried rice block is probably not the most food safe item to have on a menu. What s even worse is that I emailed the restaurant to inform them as I didn t want others to get sick in case the fish had gone off and they were still serving it. They never got back to me. Which is why I am posting this here. I am appalled that they would not respond.
Parking: Lots of spots Food
Went for dinner. The place is too dark. Cant see what youre eating and judging by the food I think the kitchen is cooking in the dark too. The beef Wagyu dumplings probably came from a frozen bag of T&T dumplings. The Caesar salad was a pile of a romaine with no sauce or croutons and we were charged 5$ extra to substitute the salad. The burger was overpriced Id rather be eating an A and W teen burger. Server was nice but not very attentive. Had to wait ten minutes before she came back around to send the salad back. Other than the decor which you cant really see cause its dark....this place needs a reboot. Below Average food for extraordinary prices.
Stopped here for lunch on Saturday 24 March 2024. It was not busy. Waitress was really good and the cook was fantastic, bartender needs a little more training. I highly recommend this restaurant
Ive been to the Langley location, which was great, so assumingly, we thought this location would be ok. Had a business meeting here. Our server was good but considering it wasnt busy, was not very tentative. I had the harvest chicken. It was only ok. Not really great considering the prices. Dont think Ill be back.
Everything was great. The waiter was fantastic. Yes it is a bit dark. But that will not effect my 5 star review
Absolutely delicious and very good service
One of our favorite spots to eat whenever were in Abbotsford. The staff and food are always incredible! Our waitress Danika was so sweet, she one top of clearing away dishes and drinks were refilled once empty. The food came out in a timely manner minus a small wait for chicken wings. The chef gave us a small appetizer as an apology which was also incredible. This place is always a 10/10 and we are never disappointed Kid-friendliness: Nice short and sweet kids menu with all of the classic favorites. Nice spacious booths were great for our wiggly four year old and our baby in her infant carseat.
My Caesar salad looked like it sat out in the sun for 6 hours on a hot day the blackened chicken was dried out chunks, the atmosphere is nice great server. Kid-friendliness: I imagine there are better options in Abbotsford.
Salmon Bowl. That is all.
Aside from the ten year olds screaming and singing Taylor Swift songs....the food was great as usual
You cant go wrong with S&L Tried the Boa buns... Highly recommend. The espresso martini is insanely good. . We came here for a birthday party with a large group and our server was phenomenal. The parking lot is a fairly good size. Reservations definitely recommended. The live music is fantastic.
The food was delicious an the service was fantastic Dietary restrictions: You can get a salad that is so filling an very healthy Food : 5/5 |
Seafood chop chop baby! The lobster chowder, pureed carrot, and potato gnocchi were the stars of this show. Food
Dark atmosphere. Too dark to read menu. Bench seat torn at table beside us. Food is overpriced and subpar. Will not go or recommend S & L to anyone.
Well ambiance very dark, to which you cant read menu....ordered steaks, very pricy so expected great food. Steaks were small and cooked not as we had ordered.....table setting very uninviting, had to ask for some rolls and butter, which are usually complimentary? Although we were very polite to waitress in regards to our problem, she seemed controlled but definitely annoyed. When youre paying that kind of money for a special night out, would expect service and food to meet the price. Wont ever go back again! Would rather drive to Vancouver for good service and food if your spending a special night out with someone. Very disappointed, Wont be returning!
Food was so good we forgot to take a picture. Jay was our server and he was excellent :)
Everything was perfect. Live music, excellent food, drinks and dessert. Top notch service as well.
Always great food and service every time we come. Updating my review to say they have added to their video screen playlist and I am loving it! Along with live music!! Great atmosphere, this place never disappoints. But the red wine truffle au jus is the show stopper for me still after years of coming here. Still curious about the horns on the wall
Steaks are done better than the Keg. The Brussel sprouts are amazing. Also the master chicken.
Im vegetarian and agreed to go to brunch here not realizing it was a steakhouse. Wasnt much for me to order. I went with hash browns, eggs and tomatoes. The eggs were cold. Meh.
The waitresses was unbelievable and very helpful.
Happy Hour has the best price on food and drink
Great food great times Abby was a great server thank you Food
This place has a great atmosphere, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I had the Cesar salad with added salmon and a cranberry spritz and I highly recommend both!
Lovely atmosphere. A bit over priced for average food. But fun to go hangout with friends!
Vancouver dine out festivals menu was awful
Its always a long wait for delivery drivers... although its dead inside....still staff is super slow and not very helpful...
Great brunch, excellent lunch!! Can t wait to try dinner there soon!
Jeremy you the man: 5 stars The area is a bit too open, unless you sit in the booths up to the side. The steak is great, but they certainly make sure the more expensive steak and food is much much better. I like that you can get your own knife, but like how often do I need to go here... Not every week! :P All in all a great place!
1st time going to this restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good and plentiful. We shared the calamari which was prepared different but good. We both had the top sirloin steak with the mushrooms. Will definitely be back
Great beer selection, friendly and welcoming staff. The wings are very tasty and crispy without being dry. I will definitely order them again.
Loved the seating, food, and the friendly service rendered.
Went with a coworker for lunch and we both enjoyed our meals very much. The Hero Chicken Bowls were very fresh and flavorful. The server was very friendly and attentive.
Orders Oysters and steak bites during happy hour pricing. Great service and atmosphere.
Great Happy Hour menu
Was here in March 2023 and enjoyed a superbly prepared dinner. The quality of the food was top-notch and service was great.
Beyond slow service, absolutely painfully bad.
Don t order the happy hour menu it s a trap ordered the steak bites and it was a sight to be scene for sure I would say to reference that it was the equivalent of three normal bites of steak chopped into a bunch of tiny morsels the sauce on the other hand was good
My pasta dish was cold, the crab cakes? They were the size of a timbit. Im so sad because the experience at South Surrey was 180° from this one. Our server however, was excellent. Wont be going back though; she should honestly apply somewhere else where she doesnt have to send a terrible attempt at a dish back to the kitchen
Go hear white often. Had a young server I think her name was amberlee she wasn t efficient we sat for 15 minutes before our table was even greeted or drink orders were taken. Then our drinks sat at the bar for another 20 minutes 10 of which she was at the bar but was more concerned about her conversation with the bar tender than serving our table. Then our plates were finished and she took another 25 minutes talker to the greeter. Not sure if she s new but we could have been in and out in 30 minutes if she was paying attention to her tables. Food was good, drinks were not. Not the best experience. Want to note there was maybe 3-4 other tables wasn t busy at all.
Delicious food and great service
Favorite place for a date night. Love the Harvest chicken entrée and the braised beef short rib. Amazing cocktails and the appetizers are both creative and delicious Food : 5/5
One of our go to places in Abbotsford. We love the chicken and salmon bowls. Chickpea fries and mules
Kind of dark inside on entry, we arrived at 4:30 pm prior to going to the Abbotsford Canucks game. We started with raw oysters and they were fantastic. The horseradish was fresh ground root. Our entrees were wagu beef dip with fries and I had a cheese burger and fries. Our entrees arrived before we were finished the oysters, not impressed. My burger bun was dry and my handpressed burger patty was barely warm. Fries were nothing to write home about. My wifes wagu beef dip was okay but like the hamburger barely warm. My beer was nice and cold but I had to ask for another as our waitress was hardly around. All in all food was okay, service was okay but that was it. Bill including tip was $90.00 not worth it as far as we were concerned for an early bird meal, wont be going back anytime soon
Great patio with roomy booths! Everyone enjoyed their food selections. Good selection of beer and wine. Aburi Salmon was beautifully cooked and delish but rather shy on the mango. Each cook puts there own spin on it as it is different each time - but always tasty. Vegetarian options: Wide selection of food choices for every need.
This was our first visit, atmosphere was pleasant, service was great! Got off to a rough start by getting the wrong meal, but was corrected fairly quickly. The meals were ok, hashbrowns very overcooked,as well as poached eggs on the avocado toast. Overall, may return for visit. Vegetarian options: There werent as many vegetarian options as I would of liked. I had the avocado toast ,presentation was great ,taste was ok, eggs werent cooked the way I asked, would of been better with hashbrowns added.
Aburi salmon bowl was great and Jenna made our evening very special - great service!
This is pretty average food and its expensive. Their delivery/take -out is not great so I hope its better if you eat in. The pull apart bread was fluffy and Id recommend it! Crab cakes (crab timbits haha) are decent. $6 for $26. Chicken fingers with nothing else came to $19 for four, and the miso mustard wasnt something I personally enjoyed. They were also tiny and overcooked. I got the harvest chicken, but for $35 with minimal gnocchi/veg I wouldnt get it again. My partner tried the farmers market salad and I think that was the best quality meal we got with the lemon herb chicken addition. overall for the amount we spent we wont be returning to eat in at a later date either. The price would be understandable if the food was amazing. Apologies for bad phone pics!
An environment conducive to tingling the senses, SNL has a lot of that to offer. But try to find a server or try to get your meal the way you want it and you might be disappointed, I was. The macaroni and cheese sticks were way overpriced for what they were. They were not creamy they were not Savory and they certainly had no flavor. The wings were something that sounded very enticing but were small and not worth the money. Theyre happy hour when it says shrimp cocktail it means per shrimp not a shrimp cocktail it is one prawn with a little bit of cocktail sauce. For all the hype this place really is overrated
Got cold dinner and it was remade for takeout but i was no longer hungry ..didnt even want it anymore and was charged full price for everything while leaving hungry and dissapointed. Didnt get any discount on a dinner i didnt even eat. 200$ dinner and even tipped due to the nice waitress but just felt like they didnt care that my 100$ dinner was completely messed up. Double charged me on prawns too and didnt ask for that either. Very dissapointed. Used to be a regular but not anymore. Steak felt like out of a microwave. 0 stars. Absolutely bs i had to pay for a meal i hated. Ive had the rib eye before and it was not like that. Coldest steak ive ever had.
Dropped in for a drink. Live music which was nice.
For the price, I expected much better food. My $25 Master chicken burger came with a processed cheese slice and pre-sliced, jarred pickle rounds like you get at McDonalds. The fries were super basic, and soft. Just seemed out of place as my wifes meal actually was decent, well presented, and she enjoyed it. Our server was great, very nice and she actually suggested my wifes meal to her.
Very disappointing! I received barely mediocre food at hugely inflated prices. I ordered the Wellness Bowl and added Ahi tuna for a total of $34. I could have enjoyed a delicious tuna poke bowl at Kami Sushi for less than half the price ($15.95) and that one has more ingredients and much better flavour. At S&L I received mostly rice. Apart from a slight kick and the tiny bit of the tomato ginger jam the food was rather bland. The ahi tuna was not raw, as I was expecting, but a small square of thin seared tuna that looked like something processed. When I talked to the manager about it she told me that the menu mentioned that it was a tuna steak. I checked the menu and it says add ahi tuna +9. So she lied to me. This place is another one of those The Emperors New Clothes restaurants that pose as an expensive, high end gourmet place but delivers basic cafeteria food. When you check out a photo of their Master Chicken dish for $31 that consists of 2 breaded chicken pieces with a bit of creamed corn and mashed potatoes you will see what I mean.
Had a really great experience today here. My family has some severe allergies, and they were accommodated creatively and deliciously. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. It wasnt very busy, but she said that long weekends are typically slower.
All good food service. Ask for a glass of white wine chardonnay. 21.75 for an 8 oz glass. The bottles 27. What a stupid mark uo come guys. That is ridiculous Food
Let me tell you, any time you pay such an astronomical price for 3 meals, its going to be really good food. And this was no exception, the food was very delicious. But my God, was it expensive, and I went on Fathers Day when they were comping the first beer for all the fathers. Dont get me wrong, everything was amazing and tasted fantastic, but this is definitely reserved for special occasions, or if you just feel like splurging.
Service is good, food is good.
UNBELIEVABLE Overpriced Meal for a Simple Sirloin Steak - and at $38.00 for the steak Alone - you dont even get simple side choices without paying extra - a Caesar salad @ $4.75 extra compared to a side salad - rice for $5.25 because you cant eat the corn side - you get penalized here for ordering a side on the menu that they consider premium ? then to end it all - the cookie dessert was a JOKE - they heated up some cookie dough in a Foil Pan that was supposed to come with caramel sauce and ice cream - took that to go and SURPRISE - you get home and there is NO Ice Cream and NO Caramel - guess they thought they could scam you on the items listed in the menu for those who preferred to eat dessert at home - And ALL this for $79 per person? NEVER again
server was very nice and polite, there was hair in my meal, and my steak was not cooked rare it was on the medium to medium well side. very disappointing for the price it was. wouldnt go again unless invited by friends.
13 of us went their. Stakes were dry and chewy. Disappointing and many were dissatisfied. Of course spent a lot, ordered a lot of food but will not be returning. I have been three times already and this time it was just not up to the mark. Food
Great eats and service!
Im always happy with the food; dine in or take out!
Food was a real disappointment. Had a steak and it was tough and over cooked. The Yorkshire was like a hockey puck. We will not return here as it was not worth the money.
Restaurant is beautiful menu could be better
Great service and food on the way back to Vancouver from our Cultus lake trip. Thank you Hana!!
Rude host. Patio was nice. Their seafood tower ($99) was more like a dwarf version. The competition between flies and bees was fierce. Uneaten food remained on table for 40 minutes. Overall, hugely disappointing.
Not bad, but not great. First off its very dark.. and the lighting is so low, we could barely read the menu. We ordered the Wagu Beef dip, and the Chicken breast burger. To be honest we were disappointed with both. Maybe its because we couldnt read the menu well, but I didnt know that the beef dip was coming with horseradish.. and it was so STRONG, I finally gave it to my husband to . His burger had so much sauce ( or something ) on it, that the bun was soggy and falling apart - he finally just ate the chicken breast with a knife and fork, and left the bun. Our server was very pleasant, but I watched our food sitting under the heat lamp, while she chatted with the other waitress and checked her phone a couple of time. She was nice.. but I kept wondering when she was finally going to turn around and see our meals sitting there. That was a bit off-putting! I had a 5oz glass of wine, and he had a local beer. The bill came to $90... Probably wont go back again - thats a lot of money for a so-so experience.
Really nice dinner. Great food and service.
Our first time here.. Sat out on the patio. Great service..great food.. Fair prices. We will be back!
My chicken finger was bruned and small .( looks like popcorn chicken) No A/C work ... Was so hot inside Food
We recently went to S&L Abbotsford When this location first opened, the food was exceptional and the atmosphere inviting. There was a buzz of excitement and it was challenging to get a table without a reservation. It was special for us to plan an evening out to this restaurant!! We have enjoyed this location since 2018. Even during COVID, we would purchase the Chinese New Year-at-home dim-sum kit and the pre-cooked Thanksgiving meal for our family dinner. We were happy to support the restaurant in this way. Fast forward to 2023..... Menu items have changed and some of the new items have been amazing. We were sad to see some of them removed from the menu but we found new favourites. The last few visits have not been as enjoyable. Changes in the ingredients has affected the enjoyment of the meals. There is less seafood and more mayonnaise type fillers It is not only the quality of the ingredients served that has been sacrificed. Management and staff do not present themselves interested in making guests feel welcome or appreciated. Instead of engaging with customers, they stand chatting amongst themselves, making us feel more of an inconvenience. They used to make you feel like they wanted you to return for another dining experience. There used to be a host/hostess to greet you at the door. This do I know you? attitude from management just further erodes the customer service and guest experience. This restaurant does not have the same allure as before. They have over-priced themselves in this competitive market. And the quality of the food has been sacrificed. Customer experience service is no longer their priority. This shift is clearly evident from management right down to servers. This used to be one of our favourite restaurants to go. The food and atmosphere were vibrant. Not anymore.... While there is little variety of restaurants in Abbotsford, this is one where you will not get your moneys worth... both in quality of food and service. But you will get a parking spot. The experience is not what it used to be. Such a shame....
We tried to book a large party to come through there at a time of day that would have been very dead. There was no wiggle room in terms of giving options for a sports team that measured between 50 and 100 people. They even wanted to charge $4 for a pop for each person. Ridiculous. A restaurant close by was more than happy for the business and were so fantastic.
Thanks to Emily for great service. Our meal was good, I had the wagyu beef dip. The edges of some of the meat was over done and the fries could have been hotter. The prices of the dessert items were ridiculous. The interior has not changed since this was Milestones.
Service was very good once they realized we were there but we waited quite a while before being seated and it wasnt busy. Food was good but it has been a while since I was there and was disappointed that it was such a limited menu now and it was quite pricey. The quality of the ingredients warranted the price I suppose but I probably wont be back for lunch. Will go there for dinner but they should have maybe a lunch menu with some more options and smaller portions. The portions were quite large.
Mediocre food but good service. I got the harvest chicken and it was flavourless chicken on flavourless gnocchi. Wouldnt recommend. If you are going to spend this much on a meal go to R62 instead! For the same price you will have a life-changingly good meal.
If you are going for the vibe sure this is it. But definitely not when it comes to food. Went there on a recommendation and i did not like it. Ordered Crab Cakes, Lobster Roll, Chickpea fries and Master Chicken. They were all just okay but the Chicken was really bad. Seemed like they got it from KFC and fried it a little more to serve. Got Frozen Rose and couldnt seem to drink it(not at all good). Wont be going again and not recommended as per my experience.
I kind of expected more bang for the buck
Good food. Just very dark inside ..
We stood at the front and waited for someone to come greet us for quite a while. The bartender yells oh someone is coming. The decor is beautiful but its dark and we could barely see the menu. The food is average and the price for it is over the top. The service could be better. We wont rush back as no one rushed to make our experience extra special as it was my husbands birthday and I put that on the reservation and the server didnt even mention it! Its all in the details.
Food is hella good but pricey. Nice on a special occasion. Had the Mac and cheese sticks (Very filling) and the master chicken sandwich. Both were excellent! Service was great too.
Always a great time here, food is exceptional, and the staff is outstanding. Last visit the chef sent out a free appetizer to our table, which was delicious. The one mignonette they serve with the raw oysters, is one of the best things Ive ever tasted. Cannot recommend this place enough!
I like the restaurant and the food! Im not sure why they play the music so loud when people go to eat and converse. Had to converse when you can barely hear the person next to you. The service was slow yet our server was friendly and pleasant. There is parking out front of the restaurant yet I suggest parking below and just walking around to the entrance. The hostesses at the entrance werent exactly the friendliest or even greet me when I came in. Customer service is key for success and it didnt really present itself here.
Great happy hour drinks and food. The shashito peppers and the steak bites are to die for!
Not what we were expecting. We went to the Abbotsford location tonight with another couple and as we all left, we all were disappointed. The reason for the 2 stars was because our waitress was friendly but the food was a big disappointment. We had to send 1 meal back and our waitress was friendly about that but it s replacement was definitely not worth the price or the wait. Out of 4 meals, 1 was satisfied. Definitely will be questioning our return which is sad to say as we had really high hopes.
Tried their brunch and I wasnt disappointed! Decently sized menu, great tasting food and cheap brunch drinks! I will have to be back to try their happy hour menu.
Funky, fun atmosphere. Only vegan item on the menu was a salad and the Counterfeit Mac n Cheese. It was quite good, but would love to see more environmentally friendly options in the menu please.
Okay food. Poor service.
The restaurant is excellent. Interior decoration outside and inside is very stylish. The staff is very friendly, the food is very good. I had a question about a type of beer and received a sample, thats what I call excellent service. A great place for families/friends/dates. There are also extravagant spirits here, e.g. Jonny Walker blue label or Luis XIII
The decore is very cool, and the servers are great! The food on the other hand is sub par at best. We had the pull apart bread and it had zero flavour. My boyfriend had the chop seafood salad and described it as mayo with water and canned shrimp. I had the steak with mash and broccolini. It was okay. Nothing spectacular. For the price and the hype I was expecting more.
If you cant cook. Youll like. But
Totally recommend the happy hour. Excellent staff that go above and beyond. Thanks for the great lunch!
Great appetizer selection. We shared several and the mac and cheese appy was the BEST. Great lunch on the patio on a summer day.
This restaurant has the one of the best oyster for me! Came here during happy hour and everything in the menu was really good. The chocolate chip cookie is a must have for dessert
Excellent ambience and service. Live relaxing music and low lighting. Kid-friendliness: Not really. Thank goodness. Who wants kids around on date night.
Good happy hour prices. Chickpea fries are so delicious
Shared a meal with my husband did add on crab legs for 25$ I would not advise, they were really dry and they cut them in half which is weird, you only get 2 and a half crab legs cut in half so 5 halves, not worth the money. The service was mediocre and slow considering the resteraunt was empty. The steak was really good which is what the 2 stars are for. I could say more but Im going to leave it here.
Slow slow slow! Been waiting for almost an hour for food, had to get up and get my own drinks from the bar tender. Understaffed in my opinion.
Outstanding!! The service was TOP NOTCH, the ambiance was great, (I still think the bullhorns on the wall remind me of something from stranger things)... And the food.... Oh the food was SPOT ON! The crab cakes were perfect, the lobster rolls were amazing (this coming from someone whose family is from NS) the halibut was incredible, I tasted it with just the halibut and thought it was a bit salty but it was on this sweet paste (sweet potatoes maybe) and mixed together, mind-blowing flavor . The drinks were perfect, and the pull apart bread was great! We will be back many times.
Food was excellent. Sat out on the patio for a beautiful sunset dinner. Staff was new and young, still learning.
The menu has shrunk since we were here last summer. The lobster rolls and crab rolls my wife ordered came with somewhat stale buns not rice and was disappointing. My burger was okay but nothing special. Wont be going back again.
Deceiving as the atmosphere and the menu look great and then your food comes and it s kind of blah. Have been here a few times and was underwhelmed each time
They have an awesome expansive patio, well suited to social distancing , the happy hour bites are amazing ! and well priced along with liquor specials ,, with a little bit of imagination the patio has that Mexico/vacay feel. Update,,great as ever , they have special beer glasses that allow you to create beer foam art , I call it ghost dog , lol not really but you can see it cant you? If this place was a little closer to home Id go everyday,,
Sexy, edgy, atmosphere with low lighting and semi- circular booths. A great venue for adults who want a romantic evening. Our meals were amazing. Hero Salad is out of this world! Appies are really tasty. Try the gnocchi or steak bites. Pass on the crab cakes - they are not cakes but two small crab balls. Outdoor patio seating and live music. Great place to meet for drinks or dinner. And they have a cute sense of humour: check out the knives on the wall near the bathrooms! Good wine menu also. Parking: Large, free parking lot. Kid-friendliness: This is definitely a date night place that is more adult-oriented.
Great food and service was top notch!
Disappointed... Lobster roll no lobster just shrimp, beef dip all grizzle cant chew.
Amazing service, amazing food. We recently had a birthday party at this location with 6 people. Had a great time!
It was a wonderful meal, and great live singer.
Great experience. Great food
We went for dinner Oct 23, 2022. We both ordered steak & lobster. Lobster was RAW the butter was cold, brussel sprouts were burnt tasteless & cold. The atmosphere was dark and uninviting & we were still expected to pay full price for our meals with no compensation for anything. Our only positive take away was our server Jeremy was pleasant. Today we are both sick from what we ate. No pictures to take because of how dark it was inside.
Went to this restaurant for the first time last week to grab some lunch. We where pleasantly surprised with this restaurant it is clean comfortable and friendly. My friend had the lobster roll and a salad and I had the cauliflower and pine nut soup with a side of sea salt French fries. The fries needed nothing else added to them they are excellent just as they are served. My friend said the lobster roll and salad where great as well. My only complain and it has nothing to do with the restaurant they served the cauliflower soup topped with a sprinkle of parsley I dont care for parsley but it looks nice so I guess thats why they serve it that way. The food was great the service was great and they have free parking. I recommend this restaurant for those reasons..
Good food and great drinks
1st time, well be back.
Our server was absolutely fantastic, and the food was top notch as well.
Our favorite local place to grab a great meal. Have never been disappointed!
Wow Not good wow. Sadly the only thing that was good was my fries. The fried mac and cheese sticks were good but very greasy, just dab em a bit. The burger patty was pre-made/formed and did not taste good. The kicker... A $17 piece of cheesecake that was more lemon zest than lemon meringue and was also pre-made and a tiny puck of a piece. Why are restaurants turning to so much pre-prepped items that taste gross and dont cut it. I want REAL AND QUALITY food when I order from a proper restaurant. I order so I dont have to cook it myself but with this garbage at these prices, I should just cook it myself.
We took my cousins for dinner to S & L as we had been there with our grand-daughter some time earlier and were very impressed. They loved the atmosphere, ambiance and decor upon arrival. I suggested the Master Chef winner, Chicken right out of the south of North America as I had tried it before. They loved it. No wonder the recipe is a winner. Delicious, delicious etc.
I took my father here for his birthday and was upset with what we ordered I didn t want to complain because I hate confrontation but .. I wanted to get something special for my dad we ordered the wagyu steak $150 and it was no more then a regular dry aged steak I felt ,no marblization what s so ever and the dinner plates everything was served on was a floral print and looked extremely tacky Ordered a $17 piece of cheesecake and it was smaller then the palm of my fist I couldn t believe it ! I was extremely unsatisfied after spending $300 for 3 people as this was my first and last time going there , there is many good places in abbotsford this definitely isn t one of them
So so disappointing....ordered the chicken dinner which is supposed to come with mashed potatoes and cream corn,, but shows up with 3 small dried pieces of chicken, and NO mashed potatoes or corn. This cost me 34$......my husbands beef dip came with both the bread and meat being so dry you could not chew, and a ceasar salad that was literally a few leaves thrown in a take out box . Total meal plus delivery $90 wow. Terrible!
