Abe's Diner in Airdrie

My wife wanted me to try Abe s last night. I can t go out to eat at the moment so we ordered. We ordered 2 Philly cheese steaks, my wife had the mud burger and my sone had the Texas. We also order the Quebec poutine, deep fried pickles, onion rings and yam fries. To start they forgot the fried pickles. I get it. It s a Friday night and busy. Not worried but. The poutine gravy tasted burnt, the yam fries were totally mushy, the onion rings tasted fine but seemed to have sat long enough that they were stuck together and super cold. My wife and son really enjoyed their burgers but the cheese steaks me and my daughter had were outrageously small. Like maybe 5 long had maybe a 1/4 of meet and literally 1 piece of pepper on mine. For 23.50 I really expected a lot more. The buns were soggy and tough. This is about the third review I have ever given. Really and truly disappointed. When I m healed we will try to eat in instead of ordering but what a let down.

I was hoping for a slightly larger dinner menu. Food was good although I think they overcooked my onion rings.

I had the pork belly Bennie and my wife had the truffle Bennie. Great flavour, neat presentation, appropriate portions! Would eat here again and again!

Update: Went for brunch today. I had the fried chicken breakfast poutine. It was delicious with a subtle spice to it. My wife had the cheesecake french toast. It was soft and not as sweet as I thought it would be... Which is a good thing. The strawberry compote was very flavorful. The cheesecake filling was smooth and had a very pleasant flavour. This remains one of my favorite places to eat at in Airdrie. Original: This a small diner which serves breakfast as well as burgers and sandwiches. The food is always great and the service is always quick. Today two of us ordered one burger and fries to share. The staff outdid themselves by cutting the burger in half and splitting the meal between two plates. There are limited tables available and it stays relatively busy.

Not able to eat a GF hamburger AND fry in Ontario! I come to Airdrie Alberta and at Abe s diner, I devoured a gluten free burger AND fry, very delicious! And the decaf coffee was very delicious!

What a cute place for breakfast. Food and service were both excellent.

We love stopping by a random restaurant any time we travel and this one was a HUGE hit! The food was delicious and they had an excellent vegan burger. The house soup was vegan the day we were there so it was a bonus for me to not have fries for once! Thank you for a delicious meal as well as your hospitality! We will add this to our must frequent list!

Abe s Diner is a family owned modern diner that serves excellent food. Almost anything on the menu can be served gluten free and the staff are very careful about cross contamination. They offer table service and takeout. The owners are lovely people and do a great job of making sure you have everything you need. Vegetarian options: Excellent veggie burger, fries, and poutine.

Abe s is my favourite place and always excellent food when I go. But catering my wedding was just exceptional! Thank you for being amazing, serving such good food we are still talking about it 3 days later. And helping to make the day smooth.

Have celiac disease and had absolutely no issues. The Gluten Free bun was great and so were the sweet potato fries (dedicated fryer so no cross contamination). Would go back in a heartbeat. Good food, but a little overpriced for gluten-free

Google all day breakfast, Airdrie while passing through. We chose Abes but sadly they dont have all day breakfast however, they didnt disappoint. We will definitely be back.

What a neat place to catch up with family and friends who drop in for a bite. Spicy chicken burger & truffle mushroom burger were highly recommended. Very cool little diner. Food is creative, fresh, and reasonably priced. We had the eggs Benny with a nice take on the hollandaise with a little dill in there as well as beef strips and eggs that were cooked to perfection. Ive been coming here for years and although the ownership has changed the service and food remain consistently high.

Just had the Chilaquiles with pork belly and damn was it really good! Definitely dont skip on that! Only suggestion I have is maybe add a veggie option like green/red peppers also or as an add on.

Best diner hands down

Highly recommend! I went with my friend who is celiac. We loved that almost everything on the menu was GF. We both got sandwiches and we re super happy with what we ordered. I got the club sandwich and I d come back for this dish alone. The rosemary chicken salad was such a unique touch - it was amazing. I got the chipotle Caesar salad on the side and this was also amazing. The service was great! It s a small restaurant and they make you feel at home. After paying our bills we made sure there wasn t a wait for tables and stayed to chat. The waitress even filled our coffee cups even after paying and didn t make us feel rushed. We ll definitely come back! Edit: We returned 2 years later and enjoyed our experience. The only complaint I have is the portion sizes. For the price I expected more food. It was tasty but I wasn t quite full after finishing the meal.

Abes Diner is one of the best restaurants in Airdrie! I recently tried their elk burger and spicy chorizo poutine, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavours were amazing, and the food was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend visiting Abes for a fantastic dining experience!

Love this place for all the reasons

Normally we enjoy our orders from Abes. We usually call the restaurant to place our order, which has worked fine. Today when we called, we were asked to use their new online order process. So, we gave it a try. We are not impressed. Some items have a required field to add a billable upgrade and you cant bypass as it is required . This forces a higher cost for the item, not cool. Next, during checkout, the tip is automatically added to the total...Again, not cool. Hopefully these areas will be fixed on the online order site. Until then, we wont be placing any more orders ar Abes.

Went with a friend for brunch and we were able to be seated as soon as we entered. The place has very nice and warming decor and friendly staff. Our food that we ordered arrived very quickly and it was delicious!

Had the pleasure of enjoying their Mac and Cheese Menu while having a pint at Atlas brewing! It was amazing and delicious and even had enough left over for lunch the next day.

This is a great little dine-in venue. Their clubhouse sandwich is amazing. Prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food justifies the cost. Parking: Plenty of parking in front or around the corner.

My husband is celiac and we have never had an issue with the food. They take cross contamination seriously which makes me confident in eating here. The food is also delicious and they have a lot of gluten free options to choose from. Highly recommend Abe s for peace of mind gluten free eating!

A bit expensive but the food and service is always good. $100 for two burgers, 2 drinks, and two kids combos (with tax and tip).

Great gluten free diner. We had the chicken salad club GF and the Heartstopper Burger (non GF) and poutine on the side. It is refreshing for a GF person to have free rein to order anything on the menu. GF Sandwich bread was good and the sandwich was so loaded you would hardly notice the bread anyway. The evening we were there the online orders were coming in pretty heavy so the dine-in service ended up being kind of slow. As long as you arent in a hurry it is definitely worth the wait.

Abes, you need a better cook. Fries totally bland, burgers were terrible, buns soggy.. such a shame. Over 100$ for 3 people, totally over priced.

Had the lion burger gluten-free and it was awesome. Yam fries on the side, very good ans crispy. We will definitely be back, but for breakfast! Dietary restrictions: Very knowledgeable on gluten and dairy free. Most if not all menu items can be done gluten and/or dairy free.

Went specifically for the Mac n cheese advertised on FB only to find you can t order this when you dine in. Disappointed in that. Also, food was good but uncharging when switching from fries to onion rings doesn t seem right. One and done for them.

3.50 for a coffee and I wasnt offered a refill. Tried to ask for a refill but the server disappeared after bringing our food. Food tasted good but for the price the portion size was way too small. They tried to seat us at a table along the wall.. the plug-in for the OPEN sign was sticking out 2 from the wall and making the seat very uncomfortable, so we switched tables. Server gave some attitude when they noticed we switched tables and then the quality of service was poor (see above). I would like to support local businesses, but wont be back here.

My daughter and my partner both really enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding of my food allergies even after I explained them and my order arrived contaminated. The staff moved quickly to make a new meal and may have been in too much of a hurry as it came out burnt, but they did make every effort to make things right. Kid-friendliness: They do have a kids menu with several nice options.

Breakfast is OK, but dinner is pretty sub-par. The worst part is how much they charge for their mediocre food and poor service. If you want good food or just food thats worth what it costs, just go to Calgary. Abes is appart of an unfortunate trend of overpriced/disappointing dinning in Airdrie.

Outstanding! I had the fried chicken breakfast poutine, and my aunt had the cheesecake French toast. We plan on going back for sure! Not much seating but good service

So disappointing! I brought my grandson for a special lunch for his birthday. His poutine he said was good but my meal of the lettuce tacos was very very disappointing. You would expect a piece of lettuce to be able to pick up and eat the taco but not in this case, I actually had to eat with a fork. The 2 pieces of lettuce were so tiny and wilted it was unbelievable (i typically would have said something but knew my grandson would have been embarrassed ) but honestly I should not even have to complain when it s so ridiculous to actually serve this and then charge $16! Wow a little steep for what you get!!! The bbq chicken on the taco tasted good but the whole experience of looking forward to a delicious lettuce taco was lost. The lettuce was seriously so wilted I can t believe it was even used in any dish! I use to love this place but it s the third bad experience since moving to Airdrie 6 months ago. I would actually make a special stop to Abe s Diner when I lived in Calgary as the food and service was always top notch! So disappointing for what is very overpriced (I might not have minded the high price if the dish had actually been quality but the TINY WILTED lettuce was unreasonable! Wish I had taken a photo as I often do but was more focused on enjoying my time with my grandson on his special day! We both had milkshakes which certainly looked good but mine was watery, ultra sweet with a lot of whip cream and little milkshake, for $6.50 for a small sized milkshake, it too was disappointing and overpriced. Doubt I will be returning as the great choices of food places I have discovered in Airdrie are now superior to Abe s!

Such a disappointing experience, only three tables in the restaurant and still waited forty minutes for food. Then it came out cold and to boot we found a big hair in the hash browns. Overcooked bacon but yet still cold?! Would not recommend this place at all. On top of it all the server is not very friendly. Stay away.

Very great food. Comfort food for sure. No complaints except the bill. Four adults and five kids. No alcohol. One clubhouse, and three salads. Waters, Kids poutines, and kid stuff. Total bill $182 before tip. Great place just pricey.

We called on Saturday to see if we could do reservations for Sunday morning. We were told no reservations allowed for breakfast and to just come in, I got there at 9:35 in the morning and there were tables available. When I asked for a table for nine of us, she told me they just got a call for someone else coming in with seven people. I asked her why they were allowed to call in and we were told we were not and why couldn t she take us instead as we were there - The response I got was the owner talked to them. And then the waitress turned around and started talking to a family of four who came in behind me, and she gave them a table that had just opened up instead of talking to me about it. We ended up leaving the restaurant. Definitely not impressed. But thankfully they turned us away because we found an amazing breakfast place that made space for us.

I absolutely love Abe s! The food is great, service is great and it has such a beautiful atmosphere. My kids and I come every year for my bday and order out a lot! It never disappoints! Ages 11-16 and they each found something they enjoyed, were comfortable and had a good time!

Ordered 2 Abes classic burgers. Burgers were small, greasy and not worth the money charged. Toppings were scare. Tomato was so thinly sliced they shouldnt have bothered including it. Fries and rings were ok nothing to get excited about. All around disappointing experience. Have had much better fast food burgers for half the price. Will not be wasting my hard earned dollars at this establishment again.

It is small inside so not really any privacy to eat your sitting beside others but over all the food was good served in a quick manner we ate and left to leave others have a spot as like I said not much sitting in there

Went with a group of four in total. Had a pretty good, but very sweet cinnamon roll pancake dish. It would be good to order to share but definitely quite sweet on its own. A friend ordered the eggs Benny and was very happy with their order.

The food is good and that is the important part. Decor is a bit odd and youre practically sitting at your neighbours table. Long wait for our order. Expected a larger menu(no waffles)but they do have a wide selection of hot beverages. Sever was very friendly. Order came with toast but no spreads were offered. Skip the Dishes has priority at this establishment.

I was here this morning with my mother and grandmother, it was AMAZING!!! The food was to die for, you have to try the truffle eggs bene! So so good! Amazing chefs and waitresses. The service was fast and our servers were so kind and helpful. We will be back for sure! The BEST breakfast place in Airdrie.

First time here. I had the truffle Benedict. The portion was minimal, the hollandaise sauce was bland. The cubed potatoes were deep fried and good, except my basket had a lot of little crunchy crumbles and not cubes potatoes. The other two had chicken & waffle, but it wasn t impressive. Also - I got the mini waffles . We all envisioned 2-3 tiny waffles. Nope. It was 1 and was just a triangular shaped quarter of the full size waffle, so was Neither mini nor waffle(s). The place looked hip and promising, but we were not impressed enough to return. They need to try harder.

I ve been to Abe s many times and LOVED it. However the last time I was at Abe s (about a month ago) I ordered a bun less burger (I dislike the gluten free buns) and yam fries. They gave me a patty with no sauces and a bit into a mouldy yam fry. They made it right and took it off my bill. I figured it was a one off so I ordered take out today again with my family and my burger had wilted lettuce that was turning brown. Taking it off removed all the sauce from my burger. I don t know that I will be back, it seems your quality has gone downhill.

Delicious!! We loved that most of the menu can be gluten free with tasty dishes all around. The elk poutine is amazingly fabulously tasty.

Ive been wanting to try this local gem for a while, and I wasnt disappointed. Everyone else was clearly celebrating Thanksgiving, as we were the only ones there, but that wasnt an issue. Excellent service, and the food was superb. We had the Elk and Bison burgers and one of the specialty poutine half portions, with upgrades to onion rings and yam fries along with a couple of local beverages from Atlas brewing. Its not a cheap burger place, but the quality of the food certainly makes it great value, as you could pay significantly more at a fancy restaurant and get nowhere near the quality. Definitely somewhere that Ill visit again and I look forward to trying more of their menu.

I have seen a lot of five star reviews for this place and I m not sure why. This was my third visit, I thought I would give it one more try. My chocolate milkshake was super runny and did not taste like chocolate at all. The food was mediocre at best. Cooked well but nothing special. Just not super impressed with anything although the service was OK, she was friendly. I won t be back.

This is such a cute eating spot; reminds me of a cute little cafe eating spot in a small town. Its not very big, but its so cozy and cute inside and great attention has been paid to every detail of your experience. They even provide you with a full sized tea pot, so you dont have to ask for hot water with every cup. Food was spectacular and service is excellent!

Good experience here. My husband really liked the veggie poutine as it was hot and flavourful. My breakfast sandwich was pretty good. I feel the sandwich would have been better on toasted sliced bread rather than the brioche bun. Down fall is that no side options were available and you could only have hashbrowns. Customer service was cheerful and pleasant. Seating is limited and tight but understandable considering the space available. It creates a cozy atmosphere.

Terrible service. Went during the day in an off peak time and waited nearly 20 min just to get drinks. Dark haired server with tattoos was super rude and standoffish. Food was cold and subpar. When we brought up the issues she brushed it off and didn t even address the issue. Paid full price and barely touched our food. I d heard such good things about this place so we were disappointed it was such a let down. Do better.

Today was our first time dining at Abes and we were already talking about when wed return half way through the meal. Our daughter had pancakes and the best milkshake weve ever had, and we had mains. It was all delicious, served in a reasonable amount of time by friendly staff. The only consideration is that theres not a tonne of seating and its justifiably busy, so we had to wait a while to be seated- but worth it. We cant wait to try more from Abes.

Ok I ve been living in Airdrie my whole life and how I have not tried Abe s until recently? Not a clue. BEST BURGER & FRIES in town hands down. Homemade fries just hit different! Service was also amazing. I ll definitely be back to try more menu items, including their brunch and Mexican night! 10/10 Abe s you have got something spectacular going on here.

We love this place and have ordered many times! Delicious filling food, and great pricing. Also I just wanna say THANK YOU guys for being one of the few restaurants left who still serve a real veggie burger instead of those beyond meat and impossible burgers that everyone s switched to. If I wanted my burger to look, taste, and smell like beef, then I would just eat a beef burger. Lol. I much prefer the taste and ingredients of an actual veggie patty, and I very much appreciate that you guys haven t switched! My husband on the other hand, very much loves the elk burger. Thanks for making us all happy!

We had the Pulled chicken sandwich, Buffalo burger and yam fries, all was awesome. We got lucky getting a table without a wait, its a busy place for a good reason.

We went here for mothers day breakfast and it was so good. The coffee, the food and the service....amazing. It has been at least 3 years since I was here last and its still as good now as it was then. This is the kind of place every town and small city needs.

Best burgers in airdrie

Disappointed in my order . We had a large order for four people , the poutine was ok and the burgers with onion rings. The problem was the ceaser salad, all that was in it was lettuce. A little bacon and nothing else, not worth the money.

Amazing staff and even better food! I have never been disappointed when ordering especially being gluten free. Definitely will continue ordering!

Such a cute diner! Love the decor! Smaller then I thought it would be but the atmosphere and staff make up for that. The food is great and they have a dedicated Gluten free fryer! Definitely recommend!

I had a Chipotle chicken Caesar salad. It was delicious. Even came with naan bread Service was amazing! Super cute decor.

Such a cute space ~ definitely modern diner. Friendly, fun, efficient service. We each had a burger and they were both great. Loved that they are a decent price and a good size, but not too big. Fries were excellent as was the spinach salad. Food comes out hot and fresh. They have beers from the four local Airdrie craft breweries. Would definitely recommend. We will have to come back to try some of their other offerings.

Went for brunch it was amazing.

Tried first time and had burgers. Best burgers in town so far that weve tried. Truffle mushroom burger was so yummy. Kids friendly but maybe not so much space for bringing the stroller inside. We will be back for sure!!

Abes diner is a neat little diner in Airdrie a few blocks from where we live. On our wedding day, myself my wife and her family had breakfast there before we needed to start getting ready. In total we were a group of five, we all ordered different things and we were all very impressed by them. Would absolutely come back and would absolutely recommend. Normally I take pictures, but on that day I was just a bit too hungry to stop and take photos.

Met up with a couple of girlfriends for brunch at Abes & it was so good! I had the California eggs Benny. Food & service was excellent. I will definitely be returning!

The food was absolutely to die for. The burgers were delicious and they milkshake yummmmmm. The staff were very kind and friendly.

We went for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is conveniently located within Kingsview shopping mall. It has a nice ambiance. We were greeted upon entering and quickly shown to our table. The server was pleasant, attentive and efficient and food was served quickly. We had the traditional breakfast and banana bread French toast, $15.00 & $16.50 respectively. Neither of us thought either dish was in any way special, particularly for the price. The banana bread is two slices and is dusted with icing sugar and comes with two small rashers of bacon. That s it! I was expecting something different maybe topped with additional bananas. It was a bit stodgy. The traditional breakfast wasn t anything special either. Way too many carbs all in one place. We may try this place again in the distant future, perhaps the breakfast poutine has something better to offer. Perhaps a larger choice of traditional N American breakfast fare would help. We have just moved here a month ago and have found much better independent breakfast joints already. We loved the place and service the food was just a bit mah.

Amazing! Milkshake was a work of art. We shared a burger and they split it for us. Love when a restaurant does that! All the food was really really good. You can watch them cook and they all look like they care.

I have been going to Abe s since their inception. Got to know all 3 owners and by far I have loved what Luis and Ali have done to the menu. Their staff! What can I say they have some of the best people in town working for them and a few have become friends over the years.

I heard about this place for a while and I finally got to go. Cozy little spot, I enjoyed the bar as I like to watch the kitchen work. Staff was all really nice and attentive. The coffee was good, I had the breakfast poutine and my friend had a classic breakfast. The poutine was outstanding, beautiful poached eggs and that truffle hollandaise was awesome! The one nit pick is that they havent dusted the ceiling in a while, I know its a pain but its a bit off putting.

Just had the pleasure of eating here this past Sunday. The food was soo good. The Staff very friendly and quick! This will be a new favourite quickly I reckon for breakfast!

Ive been here a few times. They have the best burgers and sweet potato fries. Good food portions for the price. Great servers and cooks, so friendly. You definitely feel welcome in there. I highly recommend this place.

First time stopping by Abe s and i must say it is impressive. Nice to have such a modern concept in Airdrie. My server Danielle H was attentive friendly and the coffee cup never went cold or empty. Sitting at the bar you get to watch over your meal being cooked. The kitchen guys were quite on point! Definitely will be back

The food here is amazing. We usually just do breakfast here but circumstances found is there for supper. Everything was delicious and fresh. Food takes a little longer to get to the table but only because everything is freshly made and it is always worth the extra couple of minutes. Keep doing what you are doing! Dietary restrictions: Majority is either gluten free or can be made gluten free. They also have a dedicated gluten free fryer.

Always love The Mudhead burger ! My friend chose the veggie scrambler and enjoyed it as well. Looking forward to the next visit!
