Me and my friends placed our order during dine in. We asked the server specifically for rice with the order. The server then asked us to reconfirm that we ordered rice. She then repeated the order back to us as a final confirmation. The server then proceeds to bring us fries and when we told her that the order was wrong, she told us that she ll have to charge us to get rice. Me and my friends are definitely never coming back and would not recommend it to anyone who cares about customer service as our order had multiple mistakes.

Friends said they had a good experience here so I tried it for lunch today. Had the brisket. It was over cooked, like burnt. And greasy. Had to take a couple Tums. Ill probably try another time and edit this review if appropriate.

Decided to give this a try and I have mixed views. As for the Brisket sandwich it was amazing, good size and decent amount of meat. Ordered fries and Mac and Cheese and this is where Im not happy. Fries portion was extremely small and Mac and Cheese had no cheese more like Macaroni salad.

My husband had the cowboy sandwich (beef brisket) and I had the bbq chicken sandwich. My husband is very particular about his smoked meats and said his sandwich was excellent - very tender and tasty. Very pleasantly surprised. My bbq chicken sandwich was also excellent. Served w nice tasting fries. Only piece of feedback from us was to go lighter on the sauces on both. While very tasty, for us it was too much making it a messy eat. But finger licking good!

I read alot of the other comments for this restaurant and it think as Canadians weve come to expect less for what we spend and are seemingly content. Quality should go hand in hand with Quantity people! The portions size are ridiculous and flavors arent prize winning. Its pathetic a sub-par restaurant has a 4.2 rating (at the time of writing this).

They had the automated robot that brought the food to the table. I thought that was cool! We also had the cardamon latte at the cafe within the restaurant - delicious!! Loved it! i would go back again when I am in the area.

I order a platter for a dinner party, 1 hour ahead of time and at pickup time it was delayed for another hour, with just a sorry. So upset that I was not notified ahead of time about the delay for my orders, I could of order somewhere else, very poor services and communication dealing with the public. The food was OK, and I ordered the ribs and burgers with some chicken. The waitress had no clue about the food and no apologies for it too knowing our accent isnt from Canada but the UK, so whats self-explanatory to the locals needs translation for foreign visitors. The chips were the end oily bits and no complimentary sauces with the food.

Walked in to get lunch special....the brisket sandwich the cowboy and the Chainsmokers burgers. This is our second time here. Both times the owner doesnt speak loud enough to hear you or communicate at all so gets the orders wrong. The second time he gave us a brisket main dish instead of a burger and charged us double the price. They eventually fixed it but when youre in your lunch time , you dont have time to wait and get things right. Now for the food. Both the burgers are fantastic ! The cowboy is not too sweet unlike other places and is a perfect balance of all the flavours. Also the cowboy burger is fresh patties and not frozen and you can tell. We love both the sandwich & burger we got. Also the fries and coleslaw are great ! Update: the owner took responsibility and fixed everything and also returned the amount taken by mistake.

We ordered the dish for four people, and it was absolutely amazing! The flavor was exceptional, especially the meat, which was so tender it just melted in your mouth. The ribs and chicken were perfect, truly delicious. The fried chicken wings were a nice bonus, even though we were already full from the main dish. As someone from Montreal who loves trying new restaurants, I found this experience in Toronto to be different and memorable. It s probably one of the best meals I ve had this year! The staff was very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The portions were also very generous, easily enough for four to six people. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope they continue offering the same quality and generosity

Came here to celebrate a birthday and our expectations were absolutely exceeded. Birthday boy tried brisket for the first time and now cant stop talking about it. The portions were generous. We got the mac and cheese to start and it was definitely enough to feed two people. Some of the best Mac and cheese Ive had in a restaurant. That cheese sauce was on point. I got the chicken sandwich with coleslaw on the side. Man that chicken was goooooood. Hot and crispy. Seasoning was perfect. I really cant say enough even though Im going on and on lol. Seriously try this place out. Oh and a cute little robot serves your food. We will for sure be back!!!

Recently, I visited the McLean Community Centre in Ajax and came across a digital advertisement for ChainSmoker. Then, I decided to visit the restaurant, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious.

The most delicious meal, every bite tastes better and better. My famoly and i finished swimming from McClain community centre and my kids saw the add on the board and wanted to eat in. So I called ahead and made a reservation. Went in was welcomed by a wonderful waitress who seated us and took good care of us the whole time we were there. Thank you very much for the amazing experience.

The workers there were very understanding, accommodating and patient, as this was my first time visiting this restaurant. Its a very clean restaurant with good decor, and a robot server.

Service needs improvement , food is awesome

My visit was nothing short of a disaster. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this establishment has no regard for its customers. First, the server got my order wrong. As if that wasnt bad enough, another customer came in complaining about the same issue. It became evident they were so cheap that I was given the food he had returned and it wasn t even what I ordered! This level of negligence in food handling is unacceptable and downright dangerous. But the nightmare didnt end there. We paid extra for the so-called dun up fries, expecting something worth the additional cost. What we received was a pathetic serving with barely any sauce. When we asked for more sauce, we were slapped with an additional charge, which was never mentioned upfront. This sneaky, underhanded tactic to squeeze more money out of customers is infuriating. We ended up paying 3.50 for sauce. When we confronted the worker about these issues, his response was a dismissive, Im just a worker. This blatant lack of accountability and complete disregard for customer satisfaction is appalling.

Disappointing. Called in an order ahead of time around 9:30pm (Jerk chicken and beef brisket). Got home to see they didnt pack to coleslaw for either meal (total for the 2 meals was about $40.00). Called the restaurant to let them know and the response was you can come get it if you want. It was already 10pm by this point, too late to go back. The person who answered the phone said Just tell us next time, k bye. What makes them think there will be a next time? For these prices, this is ridiculous. Dont waste your money here. Places like this are so frustrating.

My visit was disappointing. I had high expectations but the service was veerry slow considering only one other person was ahead of me waiting for food. I came before the dinner rush on a Saturday. The man preparing the food in the back was going at a snail s pace while the lady in the front was hustling. The man looked so disinterested and taking his time no sense of urgency. I get there were only 2 customers but come on. A take out order of chicken wings, fries and ribs took 30-40 minutes. When we got home we realized the ribs were cold and the wings were mediocre. At least my toddler ate it. I m glad I came before the dinner rush because I would have absolutely lost it. I can t imagine being there when it s full house. I had to switch from dine in to take out because my toddler was becoming restless. I won t be coming back.

I had today the worst experience I have ever had in over 40 years of my life in multiple countries. I never wrote a negative review about a restaurant, but the bad experience I had today is pushing me to write a negative review about this place. I came around 5:40pm and stayed one hour (left 6:40pm) without any food plate reaching my table! When I entered, there were two tables that were already served with food, so I thought we wont be waiting a lot. There was a reserved table, whose people showed up after us and were served shortly, which I understand. I was ready to order in couple of minutes but no one showed up to check on us. I had to go to the cashier who told me to wait until she comes to our table. She was busy with someone else picking up, which shows how the owner of this place is keeping low staff to increase profit at the expense of customer satisfaction! (and there was no sign that they were hiring to justify the shortage of staff). She came later, we ordered the big family platter along with some sides for our family, and waited for around an hour to decide to leave as we felt we are not welcome. She did come after half an hour telling us sorry for the delay, our food is on the way, we thought it would be just a couple of extra minutes to receive the food, but we were wrong! I understand that food takes time to be cooked, but Ive never been in a restaurant all my life that didnt event put a single side as an appetizer to let us feel served and well taken care of! It took her 15 minutes or so to just serve us water! If we had just a single appetizer it would have helped us to stay and be more patient, and to feel shy to leave before receiving our order. What were they doing then? We have seen the lady that were serving all the customer, yes 1 lady only, taking a photo of a meal! We have seen others coming from outside (may be Uber Eats, or customers picking up), but again one person handling all of that. My advice: 1- Do not go there hungry, because you will wait forever! 2- Do not go with a family that has kids or elderly people because they cannot be as patient as yourself. 3- Do not just drop by, if you havent planned to be there well in advance, do not go, go to any other restaurant you will be served faster and better. 4- Do not go there if you have any appointment with the next couple of hours, you will miss it! 5- If you take any medication before the food, (like 30 minutes before, 15 minutes, etc.), do not go, because you may risk your life if you do that in this restaurant! If you cannot go there when you are hungry, or with kids and elders, or just drop by, so what is left is to go there only if you have a date, having a lot of time to waste, not hungry at all! But why would you go if you are not hungry? I will leave that question for yourself to answer. For me it is over, I will never ever go to Chainsmoker Ajax even if they pay me to be there and give me free food, and I will advice everyone in my community to avoid this place. My family members are already convinced, and I can convince the others as well.

First of all, love the name of this place. Very eye catching. The food is amazing! Got the beef brisket which is so tender and seasoned to prefection. Finally, a spot that makes great brisket. Got the fried chicken burger as well which was incredible. Definitely will be going there again. A must try!

Came here for my birthday and it was really good. The meat was fall off the bone and super tender. I would recommend.

Had a bad experience here the most recent time that we went, called at 12pm for our 9pm reservation and at 7:30pm (1.5 hrs ahead) with our order for the food and once we arrived we still had to wait about 10 minutes for our table - even though the restaurant was completely empty at that point, and had to point out that the table was dirty with garbage under our seats even after they had cleaned it. We had to wait another 30-45 minutes for our food, at which point they also told us that they had burnt 2 of our burgers and didnt have anymore but then another 5 mins later said they could give it to us. I realize that we came an hour before closing but thats why we had placed the order for our food in advance so that we would be in and out before their closing time. My sister had visited this location once before and had a much better experience, with the food also tasting better so this business is capable of delivering high quality food and service but for whatever reason we got neither on our last visit. Hopefully they take this feedback and offer more consistency.

Its a good restaurant. It didnt hit the spot of eating from a barbeque. The chicken leg was dry but the wings were juicy. Taste wise both were above average. The ambience of the place is nice and the staff is polite. But yet, I was hoping for more smoke and flavor from a barbeque place.

Really really really good food! Came with my family of 8 people and we all loved it. It did take a bit of time to get the food to the table as it was a little bit busy, but it was definitely worth the wait! We ll definitely be back.

We just got back from trying out chainsmokers after searching for some good BBQ in durham amd were blown away. The food, service and atmosphere were above and beyond and that includes the robot server... lol. We had the large platter and were extremely satisfied. This place is a must

We had brisket and ribs and loved both. Brisket could have more flavour but no complaints, it was still great. They also have a cafe under the same roof, so you have more dessert and coffee options too. I would suggest the cafe to advertise itself for breakfast too that would attract more people

Great Atmosphere with Amazing Food

We tried large platter with Mac cheese , friesdun up and Caesar salad . It was so delicious.Me and my friends were wondering this place is totally heaven for ribs and brisket lovers . In addition, I recommend everyone to go there try some other outlets. Along with that, staff and service 10/10 .

I went to this amazing restaurant last night there food and service was outstanding. There most selling items which was ribs I also tried me and my parents love there food. Now this is my comfort place to try ribs and cowboy sandwich . Definitely recommend you to all visit there and experience there new flavors.

Delicious and flavourful food! Tried the cowboy sandwich and the medium platter which was great for the family as you can try a bit of everything. Try the dun up fries . The bakery, Sweetheart cafe that s there separately is pretty good too with high end baked desserts and assorted coffee. The owners were super nice and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

This place is great addition in Durham Great food, amazing atmosphere and quick service. We dined in around 8 in the evening and the beef brisket was finished.Food was served fast and tasted fresh. The price of food is so reasonable and very delicious too.The staff is very polite and welcoming. They also have a cafe on the side that serves coffee, tea along with an assortment of fresh salads and desserts.want to go again and again

Was looking for a place to eat for lunch and came across this restaurant. Place was clean and service was friendly. If you love meat, I would definitely recommend the beef ribs. Great bbq flavour and the meat was falling off the bone. Will definitely be back to try out their other dishes.

Nothing good to say about this place. You can t have smoker in your name and not cook any of the food in an actual smoker. The brisket was dry and overly salty, the ribs were burnt and the chicken was too overcooked that the texture was like a chicken puree. Small portions for a price that is double what you can get at other better bbq restaurants.

Thanks for hosting our party of 10. We ordered 3 X medium Platters which were more than enough with some leftovers. Lots of space to sit and the food was topnotch! Next time will leave some space for dessert from the sweet heart cafe which is part of the restaurant.

Ive been hoping for an okay BBQ joint to open up on the Eastside and went into chainsmokers with low expectations, and Im glad I did that because the BBQ here is meh at best. Lets talk about the actual BBQ. The brisket is okay, but it comes out a little dry at times. The wings were just flat-out basic (and overpriced) and the mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy but slightly under seasoned. In the end, if youre absolutely dying for ribs n brisket, then sure come here. But if youre looking for some killer BBQ, keep looking. High price, meh portion size, meh flavour.

We had the Jerk chicken burger which was amazing, jerk chicken grill which came with 2 legs and was delicious, and 1 pound of chainsmokers wings with cheese fries. All of our food was absolutely amazing and we really enjoyed the fact that we got it home and it was still very warm.

Very disappointing. Ordered a jerk chicken sandwich with coleslaw and was given a coleslaw sandwich with a thin piece of flavourless chicken. The mac and cheese was bland. The cheese had a grainy texture no doubt too much corn starch was used to try to get a creamy texture. I highly do not recommend. Save your money and actually drive to a proper bbq smokehouse.

I was hungry and wanted some real food. It was a little more than I wanted to spend for chicken and rice, but let me tell you... This was some of the best Jerk Chicken and rice (dunup) I have ever had. Chicken was SO tender, and everything was so flavourful. Im excited to try other items on the menu. Highly recommend, and I will definitely be back.

Beef ribs were quite fatty but very tasty. Coleslaw was excellent. Staff needs some training on better communicating what they offer. Tried placing an order ahead but nobody was answering the phone even though it was empty when I went. $34 for the beef rib plate which comes with two ribs. Really nice looking place inside with plenty of seating and parking too.

Found this place on google and we absolutely loved it! The food was amazing, we got their jerk chicken sandwich and their brisket both were delicious! Food is halal! Service was great, there s also a cool robot that comes to deliver the food! Would definitely come back :)

Excellent food. The best item on the menu is the ribs. I will 100% be back with my family. Everything we tried it hit the spot immediately. We had macaroni (excellent), brisket (excellent), macaroni (excellent), coleslaw (prob the best Ive ever had). Chicken (very good). I highly recommend this spot.
