I got General Tsao chicken and it tastes like fish— I’ve never had Hakka food taste this bad before. The service was great and they’ve got good pricing, but the chicken almost tastes unsafe to eat.
Have been ordering from here for the past 45 years. Food has been consistently the same old school North American style Chinese food. Special fried rice has a nice Smokey flavor to it complimenting anything. Hot and Sour soup is actually both in a large portion. Korean shrimp is one on my favorites large shrimp wrapped in tasty pork with a rich oyster sauce. Chow mein is always fresh complimenting the meal.
Call to place an order said hello--I was taken a back when the owner said, get to the point --pick up or deliver! lol. Went to pick up the order and he was incredibly rude. I canceled the order. Lost my appetite.
Picked up chicken chow mein, barbeque pork, pork fried rice, egg rolls and vegetable spring rolls. The chow mein was all bean sprouts, no noodles. It was watery and flavourless. The barbeque pork. No taste, no sauce just sliced pork that was not fresh. Egg rolls, burnt on the outside but raw inside. Would not recommend this place. Should have just thrown the $50+ on the garbage. Very disappointed
Very rude staf that work here they are open but inside they are playing some sort of game and waved me away when I tried to go in and order food even though THEY WERE OPEN, would not come here if I here you unfortunately if you are a person of colour they will treat you differently. Disgusting behaviour I witnessed here.
We ordered pepper beef which was extremely chewy, nothing like my normal experience. It also lacked flavour. We had the sesime chicken which was red with the sesime seed things. Clearly, it was sweet and sour chicken in disguise. It was really chewy as well. Almost like it was prepared prior and re-fried. Thought I would give this place a try as it has a 4.1 rating. Hopefully, the next customers experience is better than ours.
Ordered chilli chicken with fried rice. It was the sweetest chilli chicken I had. Don’t waste money here. Scarborough is only 10 min from here with favourable driving conditions
Based my going here on good reviews but the food was meh. Not flavourful and rice was dry and the pork had a funny aftertaste. $60 and disappointing. Won't be back. Place looked dated and run down
Went to this place with my grandma in the early 90s. Happy to say its every bit as good as i remember it being.

If you order anything with Vegetables be prepared for 100% Celery and onion ONLY ! too bad,.,...this place used to be really good food...now is super low end Food

I hate leaving bad reviews. This is just a heads up. Ordered No. 2. Chicken Chow mein, egg Roll, sweet and sour chicken and fried rice. The chicken Chow mein is bean sprouts only with chicken pieces. No noodles. Sweet and sour chicken is chicken balls with sauce over it. *bean sprouts chow mein is for No. 2 not the other chow mein dishes according to worker Photos posted
Have been ordering here for over 35 years ( grew up with it) Today we placed an order, drove 2 towns away to pick up and was the best I have had yet! Never disappointed. Can t wait to have leftovers tomorrow. Happy New year! Parking: no problem getting parking

Ordered dinner for 6 plus 3 side dishes for 8 adults. Enough food for all plus leftovers. No complaints, food was good. However, you should update your website with the new prices as they are higher than stated.
Decent price for the quality and amount of food you receive. No dine in, only take out. I consider this place fast food for Chinese food. There s better quality restaurants around if you are looking to eat in or pay more. For a quick delicious fast meal you can t beat this place.

I had the Cantonese chow mien. The soft noodkes are flavour are good. The only thing I would say is the chicken and shrimps and just white and lacking color and taste. Portion is very good and priced reasonable.
Love this place been picking up food here since I was younger. During holidays endure you call early to get your spot but food outside those times is a reasonable wait away. Havent ever not liked anything here.
Best Chinese food around Durham. Been ordering from here for years. Great food great friendly staff and delivery drivers. Big portions for a fair price. I often see Durham Regional Police also picking up take out from them.
Best food and service. We came to the restaurant to get a quick meal and now we are in love with the food. The gentleman that was serving was extremely friendly and knowledgeable would highly recommend
I ll be coming back here for sure! Went inside to order and waited no more than 20 minutes. Portion sizes are big! The lemon chicken was very good, I recommend!

Solid food not the worst Ive had not the best. Didnt meet my expectations according to its 4.6 rating which was a let down. General Tao chicken was great; Chow mein was a little bland but not enough veggie, just placed on top. Dont order the chicken balls. Szechuan pork lo mein was great, nice and spicy! Delivery is free after 30$ but for the amount we paid I expected the quality to be better. Either way it was fine for a quick fix.

The place came highly recommended, but unfortunately was a disappointment.. Customer service was weak. Delivery wasnt an option as their driver wouldnt of been available for an hour and half after the order was placed. First place weve ordered from in Durham Region that didnt include rice (which is minute, but noticed). The food was average at best. Hot & Sour Soup was vinegary tasting. Would neither recommend or order from Oriental Kitchen again. There are much better Chinese food restaurants for both quality and value.
I used to enjoy ordering Chinese Food from Oriental Kitchen. For the quality and price. My opinion changed about 30 minutes ago. I placed my order and informed them I would be paying by credit.and had to do so over the phone as my husband and I both have COVID and needed contactless delivery. I was informed they could not process my order this was. As if that wasnt bad enough they told me they were unable to deliver to my home due the fact we had COVID. Worst customer service ever.

The food is mediocre. They did not accommodate and add tofu to a veggie dish even though money was offered.
I went there high out of my mind and this guy was so patient and so good to me he really walked me through every step of the process the guy went so far as he went to get some noodles out of the back to show me the type of noodles that I would receive 10 / 10

Food has been sub-par the past few times we have been. Chicken balls are tasteless and barely crispy, rice is sticky and leaves an oily taste in your mouth, rice is also lacking the usual veggies. They also changed their soy sauce to a watered down version that is terrible. Used to love it.
Been having takeout for 20 years from this place. Recently moved out of town and ordered from a local establishment. Made you realize how good this food is, other place wasnt even close. No worries ordering here for sure, chicken wings great and the sweet and sour sauce just heaven :-)

Ive never had a bad experience here. Only thing id change is make the chickenballs bigger with more meat inside. They are a little on the small side. If the owners are reading this. This doesnt mean to add more breading to make it bigger. Thats the cheap way to make them bigger. The better quality way is to add more meat, then they would be perfect.

Been going there for over 17 years. Here are the best items, but not in order. General tao, chicken wings and balls, egg rolls, low mein(Any Meat...even Chinese friends say it is good and order it). Beef and brocolli and wonton soup. Only other place with same quality like the Chinese food you remember before thai then Japanese, all of a sudden become exotic and now there is more locations than mcdonalds!!

Ive lived in this area for about 20 years, and Oriental Kitchen was the go-to place for takeout. However after getting my usual dish of beef and veg, I definitely noticed the portions have gotten smaller, and my dish was about 70-80% Veg as filler instead of beef.

My family has been ordering here for over 40 years. Sure they forgot my sweet and sour sauce once but this is hands down the Best Chinese take out period. Those 1 star reviewers have an ulterior motive and should be ignored along with all the other dishonest web trolls.
Came here all the way from Scarborough and timing of closing on internet was midnight and we are here right now and it s 10:39 and is closed . Very bad thing .

My husband ordered breaded shrimp, greasy, soggy, warm not hot, general Tso chicken, texture was like it had been sitting in the sauce for awhile....soggy, warm, not hot...egg roll was soggy and greasy. Worst food ever....never again!

Very friendly staffa and service. Great for late night dinners or just anytime. The wings are soooo good! So is everything else weve ever ordered from there. Stop in and try for yourself soon! Easy to get to and theres parking right in front of the restaurant.

Havent been for a few years so decided to visit as it was always very tasty, but the last visit not so much. I ordered veggie fried rice without egg, mixed veggies with extra broccoli, and 2 spring rolls. Rice was good; veggies was 95% bok choy; spring rolls had pork in them. I told him no meat in anything. Gross.
Food is great! A bit of TLC is needed to brighten up there waiting area.
I ve been going here for two years (since I ve moved to Pickering). Great service and probably the best Chinese food in Durham. Try it for yourself, breaded shrimp is delicious.

Items you think would be hot, arent. The food is also dry, I was told it goes from the fridge into the packaging. My BBQ item should not be a cold dish. Wont be back.

This is the best Chinese Food in Durham as far as Im concerned. I make the drive in from Bowmanville in order to get it. Tried the rest love this the best. I hope you do too! Always makes a good New Years Eve Dinner too. Portions are generous and we usually have left overs for another meal.

I usually only get my food delivered ,sweet & sour chicen balls and beef fried rice.The food is very good,and you get bigger portions than The house of China,ecspecially the sweet & sour sauce.I would definitely reccomend this place,even though they only have take-out and delivery.
