Overall, I cannot recommend Alnoor Kebab & Sweets. There are many other dining options in the area that offer better food, service, and ambiance. This visit was a disappointment, and I won t be returning. Guy at the front will try scamming you and upselling you like crazy, stay safe.

The shop owner is very friendly. Food was okay. But he sells all Pakistani & Indian sweet supari & Pan. In Ajax who couldve think of it otherwise youll have to go Mississauga or Toronto for those stuff but thankfully I get it in Ajax! Food

This place is a complete scam. I asked the guy working here if he was the owner and he said no, I just work here . 2 mins later he says he s been working here for 30 years, he was a complete clown of a man. Kept forcing us to buy more and more things. Place is a complete dump; smelt like piss the moment we walked in. Not to mention the bullet hole that was very poorly patched up with styrofoam. I d recommend any other place than here. Stay far far away, and keep your money. This man shafted us so hard. I will never be going back.

Ordered 2 halwa puri combos for 9.99 each, portions were value for money and it was really good. I called 15-20 ahead of time and my order was hot and ready when I got in

Crazy person at the counter, pushes to buy more things even when i said no he asks again and again. Asks religion belief without a reason. Informs he is giving plastic bag and favors on us customer as we dont carry our own bags. Talks slowly and when asked again says why are you wearing knip cap, remove it, while its -3C outside. Added chat masala in Biryani, who does that. Doesnt gave invoice and charges HST on cash payment. Overall experience buying from him was bad, wont recommend anyone

It was overpriced but great customer service

He charges extra for everything without even telling you. When you ask him how did it come to this much, he would break it down and then say well yeah its about $2 less. Like wth???

Take my word and dont go there! Were treated so rudely. He didnt want to give us extra plate and was getting very upset if we asked him how long the order would take. Even though we didnt make any mess there and cleaned our table. At the end, he handed us the whole big garbage can and told us to throw away the leftovers. Ordered haleem and paey. It was below the expectation. The haleem was so watery and paey didnt have any flavor. My whole day was ruined because of how this man treated us. I hope he sees this and changes his behavior with his customers from now.

Ok, I got to say, when you enter the place you feel like youre back in a store in India filled with the old school candy and chips! Although it would have been nice to have a bit more prompt service, the food stole the show! Freshly made samosas(the chicken was Amazon, the veg was really nice as well). The channa bhatura was Soo good too - perfect balance of spice and a fluffy bhatura! We also tried the sev puri which was a bit different, but still delicious - if you want it more spicy make sure to mention that! The owner was nice, and encouraged us to keep eating - hahaha we were sooo full - one plate of channa bhatura is good for 2 people! Such a warm meal - totally loved it!

I went there on one of friends recommendation..... I ordered channa bhatura and masala tea .... For food I will give 4 out of 5 but .... For service... He is rudest person I ever met in Canada...... I know kitchen work is always busy.... But its doesnt give the owner right to speak rudely ..... We are paying for the food.... Ali, the owner was so kind! The bhaturas are MAASSSSIIIVEEEE.They have a wide variety of desi items that will take you back home and make you nostalgic. 10 on 10 would come back again.

I am embarrassed to say I have never been here, and it has been open for over 15 years! I went in to ask if they had Gluton-free food as I recently realized I have an allergy. So I went today (April 6, 2023). The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and showed me the many, many Gluton-free options. The food was absolutely delicious. I do not know if I enjoyed the food or the fantastic service more. I had the most melt-in-your- mouth butter chicken and rice dish. And then dessert make from chickpeas. I had no idea that gluton-free food could actually taste this good. I will absolutely be buying food from this awesome restaurant many times in future

It was my first time in Alnoor & I love ittt! Great customer service, nice place with board games & the food was really good. I had an order of halwa puri which included halwa, channa, aloo and puri. It was a mix of great asian taste. Love itttt!!! I highly recommend it to everyone

(and trying the sweets, since I was with someone allergic I refrained but they looked quite pretty and tempting). Worst ever samosas. They charge you a $ for each samosa and will hand over the small samosas saying the bigger one is finished. Not at all recommended and worth it.

I ve been coming here for their veal biryani for many years. I ve tried other Indian restaurants but truly it can t compare it to other places. My entire family love the food. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to try anything exotic tasting. Keep up the great work!

As a tourist we picked our nearest restaurant for Pakistani breakfast it was 2 miles from our hotel We ordered Chana , halwa poori and Nihari both food was not freshly cooked but microwaved all food got dried because of microwaving. Chana and Aloo both sprinkled with ( indian chunky chat masala ) . Nihari actually was not taste like Nihari . Tea was sweetened by condensed milk didn t taste good. This place is over priced we paid CAD $67 for 1 Nihari, 1 Halwa poori combo , 2 chai and 2 naan 2 drinks . Not recommend for Pakistani taste

This place has been a staple in South Asian Cuisine in Ajax for at least 15 years (from what I know, probably more). Its really great seeing this small business still alive after everything, but its sad to see it so empty and some of the ridiculous reviews. The owner is kind, and from the looks of it, struggling to keep this establishment running. The food is really good (we usually love coming here on the weekend for Halwa Puri which is 10/10). The prices are a bit inflated but again, its a big place, almost always empty and with only one person working almost daily...what can you expect? The atmosphere isnt the best, its old and theres all types of non-restaraunt related items scattered throughout. Its almost nostalgic in a sense, but wouldnt go here for a romantic/fancy date. Give the owner the benefit of the doubt and try to support a small business when possible. Like others have said, this place is a rip off. Extremely over priced and was given stale sweets. I have an upset stomach after having the sweets. The owner looked very clever and cunning and trying to overcharge at every single time. Tried them two times and both time I felt I was deceived. Never going back.

Their samosas and gulab jaman are awesome. Biryani is OK. Overall a decent desi place for meals as well as buying imported Desi stuff. They have stuff from agarbatti to kurkure to game boards.

Well where to start. Called them to order 3 puris. The owner took the call and confirmed. I asked to cost, he said $9.99 and that it will be ready in 30min. I got there and when he passed on the payment terminal towards me it was showing $33 and was very nicely on the tip menu showing first option as 15% I was confused, asked him if he s charging me for correct order as I just ordered 3 puris and he told me it s $9.99 to which he replied yes 3 puri combos at $9.99 EACH!! I m like but I said three puris like actual 3 puris Surprisingly he refused to budge from the charges, told me he was busy and must have misheard and that he s sorry but I have to pay the full amount. I told him we are just two people and it will all go to waste and if he accepts some blame then why should I buy the incorrect order; but he stayed indifferent. Not wanting to make a fuss as there were his relatives in the restaurant, I paid and left. As I was leaving he said puris will be nice and soft for at least a couple of days and I can eat leftovers later well I live 5min away and when we started eating, half the puri crumbled into crispy crumbs. Wether it was the fact that I paid 3x more for it or if they were actually not very good, the food itself wasn t the best.. Rating for food itself 3 stars. But for not being courteous and helping, I d give him 1 star and safe to say will never be visiting again.

Ordered a kabob wrap with double kabob. I wish I could post a picture of how thin and dry the kabobs were. Any other restaurant the kabobs are nice and fat. If you want more money to serve an appropriate amount of serving so someone can fill their appetite then I wont have a problem paying more as I want a decent meal. You charged me the market rate and gave me 5 times less. Never coming back, owner is very nice but frugal.... being nice doesnt help if you cant provide....

Beware! This place is a ripp-off! Bought only one halwa puri breakfast and one pakola can and was charged $18 with no receipt to explain the cost! Not only that but upon reaching home we realized that the pakola can was also expired!

I called and asked if they have fresh Samosa. I requested them multiple times to make sure to give me fresh Samosas. After waiting for an hour I was given frozen Samosas and over priced ($45 for 40 Samosa). On top of that the owner was a complete lier and rude.

The paya did not contain any paya and the nihari was better but again mediocre - will stay away from these two dishes. The halwa puris were nicely packed but the chana was mostly masala and less chana and the aloo was also the same. The halwa was good and not oily. The chilly level is hot and the condiments are plenty - with chillies, achar and marinated onions. If youre looking for high quality pooris this is the go to place.

We had ordered halwa puri from this place a few months ago, in the evening, and it wasnt very good. There was a taste of oil in everything. We look a chance and ordered again today and it was amazing!!! We got halwa puri and naan and nihari for brunch. Everything was amazing. We didnt get the Aloo gravy with the halwa puri as promised, but Im sure that had a reason why they didnt include it.

It was a disappointment to do a take out from this store. I had ordered couple of dishes and all the food was terrible. Just added cream on a chicken tikka to make a butter chicken. Nihari was very diluted and can only taste the chilli but no taste.

not as good due to bad attitude by owner if I could I would give it negative rating just for this reason only as I have seen the owner be abusive to some customers. if you ever visit in summer time get ready to be in a sauna. food quality is very poor, meats are dry and tasteless. This place has awesome Nehari. Nehari comes with two naan. Its a deal. You can also choose Puri too. We had Nehari with naan and puri. Really tasty. Puri was not that much oily. The owner run tha place and made the food so carefully. Highly recommended

Ali is a warm delight! We had the Aloo Puri and it was phenomenal. Absolutely reminded us of home. The restaurant has a very rustic and cozy Indo-Pak nostalgia vibe to it. We came and order halwa puri combo. It comes with chana, potato curry, halwa and 2 large fresh bhaturas. We have eaten halwa puri from usmania grill, silver spoon and many Indian restaurants. As we are indian we know indian food very well. The quality, quantity, price and taste of the food does not compare to all those other fancier places. The hospitality of the owner Ali was amazing. He was very welcoming. He went over and beyond for our service. We live in pickering. This is definitely our new spot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You will not be disappointed. In fact we have decided to come back for dinner with our family later today. Lol 10/10

The jalebi I ordered was not fresh and inedible. From the little bit we tried it tasted like it was a few days old. The second dish I ordered was their chaat papri. All the papri in it was saugy and the taste was awful. How can you sell food that is not fresh at all and charge that much. This was the first and last time I ordered from this place.

Wanted to try a different place for halfway puri so went here, the guy out there is like our halwa puri is the best and so I ordered 2 from him and took some chicken and veg samosa Once I reaches home and started eating omg it was horrible taste and the samosa was spoiled Never going back here for sure

The worst experience and any food inspector should cancel the license of this restaurant. I ordered ahead and picked up while I was traveling. He charged me more and didnt provide receipts. He sold the curry and samosas which are probably a day or two old and as I was traveling I cant go back and return it. He charged is almost double for substandard and stale food.

Alnoor has to be the friendliest, happiest man on the planet. He runs this fantastic little gem of a restaurant in Ajax. He works everyday, always has a smile on his face, and makes all food from scratch and to your liking. The food is always fresh and delicious -he aims to please! We order regularly and tell all our friends about him. Ajax wouldn t be the same without him! *Don t listen to the negative reviews. People are complaining about items that aren t even on the menu (kitchari). Also, his poori is never tasteless or rock hard -pretty impossible when all food is made fresh and to order (the customer decides the level of heat/spice). Nasty people like this aren t helping anyone.

I had to take kebabs to a party at 11 am, and not one restaurant opened before that, but the gentleman here not just picked up my call at 930, but by 1030 had my kebab platter ready for pickup. host was very polite and homely, will go again surely

Visited this shop a few times for different occasions and found this place a pretty good one for sweets and snack... the samosas worth a special mention. The shopkeeper is also very pleasant, approachable and eager to make small talks with customers. However, tried goat biriyani and didnt like that very much. Nothing specific to complain, probably the cuisine is not very familiar to me. A word of caution: the price list displayed on the shop is somewhat misleading.

I also found out that this place offers halwa puri breakfast 7 days a week, which is a first... this place also accepts cash or debit only, and credit card payments are NOT accepted. Do check if it out if you get a chance!

So this place has halwa poori 7 days a week and all day! I never knew about this place. Their halwa poori is amazing and will satisfy your craving for it :) They have Aloo gravy too which many places dont. So now you dont have to rush in the morning to catch halwa poori before the time ends or only on weekends, you can have it any day anytime within the operating hours of the business! The owner Ali is very generous too!

Enjoyed a fantastic family dinner tonight. Called in for takeout and Ali made great recommendations based on my family s taste and he was spot on with his recommendations: We enjoyed butter chicken, lamb curry, chickpea curry, veggie samosas, and oh my the saffron rice is amazing. Friendly service and such tasty food. Highly recommend.

I used to go here all the time but everytime I go prices go up and up.

The service was very personalised, we loved Alis warm and smiley attitude. We ordered halwa puri, nihari, paya, mango lassi, and chai. Everything was fresh and made to order, we liked it.
