619 Kingston Rd W, Ajax, ON L1S 6B3, Canada
Casual spot for Indian cuisine, with a lunch buffet, offers curries, tikka, veggie items & naan.
Food is worth the price .. dinner for about 20 bucks u can get goat curry , tandoori , fish and masala chk ..and plenty of chicken . Lunch weekdays are cheaper .. I personally found the chicken dish dry and tandoori first batch was dry .. but overall food and dessert was good .. for it's price and the season for no gst ... Can't complain... Dessert was very good ...the kheer ..gulab jamun ..
WOW is the least we can say to a place like this. Food is exceptional and lets talk about the beautiful customer service. It was genuinely a beautiful place where me and my wife had the time of our life eating authentic Indian food. Thank you to Mumbay Grill for making the inner child in me go crazy over the food. If you are in the Ajax area please and I say please come here.
Missing home food? Please check this place out. We went for the dinner buffet (which was incredible at only $21 per person) and it was so lovely. The server was very helpful and attentive from the start. The buffet has predominantly Indian staple dishes like Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, and Goat Curry but also a couple Chinese food choices that my partner said paired well with the food. In addition to two types of rice in the buffet, you also get offered fresh naan! While I skipped out, my partner indulged in Carrot Kheer, Rice Kheer, Gulab Jamun, and Rasmalai and was so full he has to skip the range of ice creams. At the end of the meal, I felt satisfied and didn’t feel one bit bad about eating out because of how healthy and well priced the meal was.
Amazing food and service, lots of meat dishes, the butter chicken and goat curry is pretty authentic. Butter Naan is included. And the desert has the best Indian sweets out of any other Indian buffets
I was in the East end with my husband to see the salmon run, while returning, we stopped by hereto have our AYCE lunch. Great food with excellent service, staff are extremely polite and friendly, we will definitely come back again!

Whether you’re hosting a lively gathering or enjoying a quiet meal with loved ones, Mumbai Grill invites you to indulge in a feast of spices and aromas. The staff? Utterly enchanting—friendly, respectful, and dedicated to making your evening unforgettable. This is a place you'll dream of returning to, time and again.
Came here today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! The buffet was delicious and reasonably priced. The selection was great and the servers were friendly. We will definitely be returning.
Exceptional Value and Delicious Variety at Mumbay grill! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mumbay grill, an Indian restaurant offering an impressive buffet that caters to both non-vegetarian and vegetarian preferences. For a mere $20 (approximately $23 with tax), I indulged in a selection of over 30 delectable items, which is an outstanding value for the price. The buffet featured a wide array of dishes, but some notable highlights for me, as a Bengali, included: • Butter Chicken: Rich and creamy, perfectly spiced. • Chicken Tandoori: Succulent and well-marinated. • Naan: Freshly baked and soft. • Spring Rolls: Crispy and flavorful. • Begun and Aloo Bhaji: A delightful combination of fried eggplant and spiced potatoes. • Fish Fry: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. • Salad: Fresh and refreshing. • White Rice Polao: Fragrant and fluffy. • Chicken Tikka: Juicy and aromatic. • Goat Curry: A standout dish that truly made the buffet worth every penny. For dessert, I found the ice cream to be satisfying choices. However, the ras malai and rice pudding did not quite meet my taste expectations. The service at Mumbay grill was exceptional. Despite feeling unwell, the attentive staff ensured my comfort by promptly refilling my glass with warm water whenever needed. Their hospitality significantly enhanced my dining experience. In conclusion, Mumbay grill offers an incredible variety of delicious dishes at an unbeatable price. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy a hearty meal for just $20. The quality and quantity of food, combined with excellent service, make it a worthwhile dining experience.
Absolutely amazing experience for my last order. It was a large catering order for 50 people. Not only did they offer suggestions on items to pick, the overall service was an experience to remember. They took ownership of the order, kept me updated and delivered right on time my. The food was excellent, specially mutter paneer and the fish masala. Overall super pleased!! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options available. Parking: Free parking spots available.
Always a good meal! Fair prices, too.
We usually go to the buffet which is really good but today ordered take out for the first time. The food was good as always, just shocked at the portion sizes for the price. Felt the portions were quite small.
Went at around 6:30pm and there were very few people so the service was great. Buffet was well priced. There was somewhat limited options, but still a pretty OK selection in my opinion (I dont go to buffets very often). Some items were great like the butter chicken, others like the ice cream were satisfactory. The atmosphere was alright, no complaints. Vegetarian options: Mostly vegetarian options. Lots of curries, sweets etc. Parking: Lots of parking towards the back but its a bit of a walk and a little stinky Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
The food, atmosphere and everything around is amazing. Especially exceptional service by Maya, Shyam and Durga. They are fantastic and are very helpful in regards. The quality, quantity and you get everything value for your worth. The best dishes i like about their food is goat curry, appetizers are also very very good and chowmein is very tasty. They also serve different flavours of icecream and is worth for all you can eat buffet serving for lunch and dinner. I will highly recommend to have their food and for the quality it is the best in town. Menu highlights, : goat curry, mix veg, baingaan aloo, methi chicken
Worst food. We had terrible experience. I never recommend. I will never go to this place again. Please stay away.
I wouldnt recommend this place. It is not authentic Indian cuisine. Spices are minimal. It is lacking flavour in comparison to other Indian restaurants
Was recommended to this place by a relative........ Great food, great prices staff was very polite, friendly and efficient. Will be returning 100%
Good food, good prices. Friendly service. Consistent.
Excellent food, the owner is very kind and welcoming, really nice atmosphere, with soft music that does not interfere with conversation.
I have been going here for the past 8 years. Very good food. Buffet price is reasonable! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: HALAL
Consistently Over-Spiced and Lacking Authentic Flavor Disappointing Experience! Takeout: The food is not flavorful at all. Most of the dishes I ordered were over-spiced and lacked any authentic taste. The Saag Paneer was the worst I ve ever had I couldn t taste the spinach at all, and it had way too much chili! Buffet: The paneer gravy was too runny and overly sweet, while the Kadi was barely acceptable (zero flavor, just a yellow paste), and the chickpeas were completely tasteless. The eggplant dish (Bharta, hope I m spelling it write) had no taste of eggplant at all; it was like a boiled, mushy mess. The buffet, overall, was far below average, with no standout flavors not a single curry stood out. It seems like the chef doesn t know how to bring out the flavors in the food. Zero flavor, just spice! No matter how many times I ve asked for spice adjustments in our takeout orders, the food is always over-spiced. Not enjoyable at all! Additionally, the takeout containers for vegetarian items were too small to share between two people. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I won t be trying this place again and definitely won t recommend it.
We ordered 30 person catering recently. Durga was very accommodating. Food was great!
Amazing food
Most excellent food, mouth waters as soon as you enter. Been here before and will continue to come.
Great place for delicious mild Indian food with lots of variety. Host excellent and extremely friendly. Having eaten in many Indian restaurants internationally and first time in Mumbsy Grilll I would definitely return to Mumbay Grill in Ajax.
Just visited this place today with my family and was surprised with their buffet menu at reasonable price.. Food was decent and really worth for the price and ambience was good as well.. desserts also had good varieties .. Highly recommended.
I ve been to many Indian restaurants in Durham, and this is by far the best one. The food is outstanding, and it s very well-priced. The service is amazing, making the overall experience top-notch. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Kudos to the great work! I loved my experience here and the amazing food! One of the employees named shishir was so kind and thoughtful and he had made my day! I would love to see this employee again and have this epic food lots more! Thank You for the amazing service! Cant wait to come again! From the familys lil princess!
We three people went there for buffet and we experienced the worst taste anyone could ever have. Rotten, half cooked , spiceless food. Slow staff service. We sawit was only us and while leaving we realised why!!!!!!!
I started coming here with my wife 14 years ago on our first anniversary when it was called Bombay Grill. We became frequent visitors then even moreso when the buffet was brought in. I moved away from the area and havent been in 7 years, but staying in Whitby for the night I knew this was the only place I would want to go to for dinner. Its been renovated since my last visit and looks great in there and the food is still excellent, the service just as good as ever and the price, especially compared to anywhere else with a buffet is excellent. So many of my favourite places from the area have either gone or changed beyond recognition, it was great to see Mumbay Grill is still great. Cant wait to make an excuse to come back, although, Ill order from the menu as I miss the Haryali Tikka.
Vegetarian options: Good Recommended dishes
This place has amazing Indian food. Surprisingly have lots of options, their vegetarian options are amazing and I love this place!
Recently renovated so its beautiful now, and the food seems better too! More options in the buffet compared to before and delicious! Vegetarian options: Vegetarian section was separated from the nonveg which I know a lot of people would appreciate
Looks like they have been renovating the inside. Looking good! Great prices for the buffet. Its nice to be able to try buffet style with foods ur not familiar with to taste what you like it dont like from that ethnicity. Seems like there is more choice in the buffet then it has had in recent visits. Which is nice! Have to say the food here is great! Give it a try. You wont be disappointed :)
This is consistently the best Punjabi food I ve had in the Durham region. Have been coming here with parents (the true test) for years. The place was recently renovated so it doesn t look as dated as before. Service is basic. Prices are reasonable. But the food is why you come here.
Came here to enjoy some Indian food with my young son. Waited almost 5 minutes at the door to be seated. He said he thought i was with the other party there, believable I guess? Then said sit right over here and points me to a table. Waited 5 minutes longer hoping someone would bring water and ask for our drinks as I have a child who I planned to give some chocolate milk to. Im sure the food is good based on the smell but I never got to try it, place had about 5 tables of people so I dont think they were too busy. When the table next to us got their water topped up is when I felt disrespect and left (Im sure it wasnt intentional though)
Great Indian food with great atmosphere. Very nice staff.
Ive been going to this restaurant since I was a kid, always loved their food and service :) Buffet has such a great variety for such a good price, always a good experience with amazing food here! Highly recommend
No 1 restaurant in Ajax love the food
I just have graduation party here. my guest complain that their table was not clean. Other than thst we have very good time and party workers are friendly. Tea was very good Food was not fresh 1/5 Service was good 3/5 Atmosphere was good 3/5
Mumbay grill restaurant very beautiful and Buffet has such a great variety for such a good price, always a good experience with amazing food here! Highly recommend .......thnks
Been a customer over a decade, sad to report food quality has taken a dramatic hit. Took one bite of my recent order and the rest hit the trash. Theyre not even pretending to be a viable restaurant anymore, just straight up laundering.
Food wasnt tasty at all, Very poor quality. Biryani was pathetic and wasnt Biryani at all. Waste of money.
Food taste is great and there are plenty choice! I real like the rice pudding!
Tried the buffet lunch, many options to choose from, although the food was mediocre at best in terms of taste, all the 3 paneer dishes were low in spice level. The dessert selection was good. Food
Just walked into the restaurant thinking that we ll check the food first. But trust me it was all worthhhh!! I went crazyyyy! The food - A+ The ambience - A+ The variety of food items - A++ The service - A+ Can go on and on with all good words about the food. Loved it! Its all worth!
Staff is very friendly and good food
I have been looking for an Indian restaurant to go with my family for years! They all were extremely spicy for us, especially for my kids. We went yesterday night for a buffet and we absolutely loved it. The food was very flavourful and mild spiced just perfect to our liking! Some dishes were more spicy than others but with an amazing flavor. This is our new spot now and we will definitely be back! Thank you! Kid-friendliness: Food from buffet wasnt super spicy like most Indian restaurants are! Kids ate and enjoy
The buffet offerings consisted entirely of frozen food, including the naan, which lacked the freshness of freshly prepared dishes. The hygiene standards were also concerning. Ultimately, I had to dine elsewhere after purchasing the buffet.
Very good food not crowded fast service and good staff
The chicken samosa was stale and you could tell it was days old and they just refried it. Absolutely disgusting! Had to throw out $24 worth of takeout. Will not be visiting again.
We are always here for all of our occasions. Location is very convenient as we live in Pickering. Love the food and the variety. Very tasty
Price is good ans taste ia good for its value!
Cute little spot for all you can eat Indian, came for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised with both the meat and veg options. The cucumber raita yogurt sauce and the mint chutney along with onions were great. Good price and I will be returning!
I would have given zero if possible. Terrible service, order took more than half n hour to serve. The staff were rude when we said about waiting. Not at all polite service. This is used to be my to go place but not anymore.
Tasty buffet. Loved the goat dish and naan. $19.99 for weekend adult lunch, $10.99 for kids.
Used to be my everyday place but sorry to say Poor service and staff nowadays.
Very great place to have indian cuisine n continental food with best price in town love the staff very gentle n pose to help in anything regarding the food orders...... Always my first priority to visit there again and again......
I visited Mumbay Grill with my wife and kids. We chose the buffet option. I must say, they have the best buffet options across the whole of Toronto and GTA. The best part is that the food is extremely full of flavours without chilly heat. My kids do not eat chilly spicy food. This place is a hidden gem. The chef and owner are doing a great job by keeping the Indianness of flavours while adopting western spicy levels. Only advice to the owner is to improve lighting and give the restaurant a modern touch. Vegetarian options: Plenty Kid-friendliness: Extremely kids friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
This place is awsome the food is amazing and the price is really worth while i would highly recomend this place
AmaIng service, great briyani. My 4 year old and 2 year old love it.
Good food.
One staff, may be an Asian lady has attitude.
Good food and good service
Best biryani in Toronto area . Not paid review . Must try
I ordered Veg pakora, Fish pakora & Kadhai Chicken for dinner. The veg pakoras tasted good except that they were a bit oily and small in size. The fish pakoras looked just like fish fingers and weren t that flavourful as one would expect. Taste was okay. The kadhai chicken looked more like chicken curry and had hardly any veggies (Onion & Green bell peppers) that differentiates itself from other chicken curry types. Also, the chicken pieces were too big and without much gravy. Some of the chicken portions were a bit uncooked. It came with a plain naan which wasn t thin and crispy. Overall, the food taste was okay.
Number 1 service in the town, food was amazing.
Loved the food. Had gone for weekend lunch buffet and enjoyed it. All items on the buffet were tasty. Also the price for non vegetarian buffet is really reasonable. Would recommend Indian food lovers this place. Ambience is ok. Feels worn out a bit but not to the extent that you can t sit and enjoy the lovely food. I hope restaurant keeps up the quality and taste . Will definitely go again. Parking: There is a free parking lot but if you are going at peak hours or weekend then it s a possibility you might not find a spot.
Visited for the weekend lunch buffet and found it delightful. Every dish on offer was delicious, especially considering the reasonable price for the non-vegetarian buffet. Highly recommend this spot to fellow fans of Indian cuisine.
Very good food, good variety, very reasonable pricing and excellent service (except the manager who never smiles or makes eye contact). What can improve, use less food color, and 2nd seems they never thought about how people will eat paani poori, there are no deep cups or glasses for paani...
I have been going to Indian buffets in Canada since 2005. I have been to buffets all over the country. Even the renowned buffets the experience afterwards is always the same. You have heartburn. You are bloated you dont feel the greatest. I was very impressed at the food here at Mumbai grill, it is not greasy or oily or unhealthy. The naan is made to order for the buffet and comes at your table. Thats what I like the most. The ambience reminds me of the early 2000s Indian restaurants in the GTA and I am so glad they did not get rid of it because it is like a time capsule.
Ordered chicken biryani twice for take out and very small portions of chicken offered. Good menu options available. Parking is free but limited.
We stopped by for a lunch buffet today. Buffet serving area is super clean. Fresh melons, fresh ice creams with multiple flavours, fresh salads. 7 non vegs dishes to choose: Butter chicken, tendoori chicken, mutton, (dont remember the names), they all very well cooked, perferm tenderness, sauce is authentic, meat is fresh. Few vegs : panner and broccoli, (dont remember the names) I would definitely come back with families and some friends.
Food was amazing definitely recommend and the service was amazing they were such nice and friendly people
Best value for your money in Durhum region. Food is very good.
Nice genuine owners and great food
4/5 for service - Good 0/5 for food - Tasteless. Not for Indian people. Food
Mumbay grill is a good place for the Durham Community. It is one of the few places which offer Lunch & Dinner All you can eat buffet. Coming to it, they have a nice variety and a pretty decent spread of fresh Dishes looking at their very competitive pricing. Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Curry along with fluffy naan bread stood out for me. Loved the Gulab Jamun in Desserts. The spice level is something which I recommend they need to increase a notch because personally being an Indian I felt the need of salt & pepper alot to cater my taste buds, need to spice up a little. But I understand as this definitely helps in increasing the customer base and Im all for it. Chaat counter needs work, wasnt up to the mark. Overall, its a place to get your stomach full and moneys worth.
I recently visited Mumbai Grill for their lunch buffet and I must say, it was totally worth it for the price! The service was really good and I enjoyed everything except for the Gulab Jamun and Rasamalai which were not the best. Other than that, everything was okay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good Indian restaurant in the area.
I ordered through skip the dishes, food was hot, tasted amazing, it was fresh, portions were great. I was very pleased and recommend this place. Their biryani is excellent.
Ordered Vegetable spring roll and Veggie pakoras... Both were bland and Pakoras were overcooked and hard to bite. The dips for both were same and lacked taste
Had an overall great experience here. The waitress was incredibly friendly and the whole restaurant had a good, family-esque atmosphere. The food was really tasty, especially the freshly cooked naan. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you havent already! Vegetarian options: There were several vegetarian options including spring rolls, samosas, and vegetable fritters, as well as naan and some different kinds of rice, among other vegetarian options that I didnt have the chance to try. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible in the interior. The buffet area is in a raised section of the restaurant which requires using a few stairs to get up to from your table.
By far my favourite Indian buffet in Durham, they ve got great pricing, delicious food and tons of veggie and meat options, and very friendly service, love the home feeling!
Good restaurant good ambiance, buffet ok
Friendly staff, great food, one of the best restaurants for value and quality indian cuisine. Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian currys
i come here atleast twice a month!
The food is so good here and it s so affordable! Definitely a better option if you re planning to go to a buffet.
Just left feeling like Im on cloud nine. The food was phenomenal, the staff are SO nice and the price is beyond fair in this economy. My bf and I have been trying to find an Indian buffet for years to replace our fav spot in Toronto since it closed. And this one checked every single one of our boxes. We will be back...probably once a month. Absolutely awesome!!! Vegetarian options: Lots of yummy options Parking: Lots of parking Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly
My family has been going here for several years now. The lunch time buffet offers good value and quality of food is overall is consistent. My only issue is that it s not too exciting if you re a vegetarian or pescatarian like me. We go every few months and it seems like some of the veggie options change so sometimes they might have something I really like, such as eggplant. It would be nice if they had it all of the time. It would also be nice if there was a fish dish. At one time they had fish pakoras, but lately I haven t seen them. If you eat chicken like the rest of my family does, there are some solid options. The quality of some of the veggie options can better.
Great experience! The food was excellent & our waitress was incredibly friendly!
Good price great food friendly staff
Got chicken biryani takeout. It was not great. In fact rice had no biryani flavours and tasted bland. Chicken tasted like tikka chicken curry which had been added to the rice. Overall not satisfied with the food. Not the authentic biryani I am used to.
Went for lunch buffet on Saturday and it was pretty good. I liked the goat curry and my husband liked the butter chicken. Best thing was the naan was fresh and piping hot, but tandoori chicken was dry. Overall not bad for the price.
We visited there for lunch buffet. There were lots of options for Vegetarians including snacks, entree & desserts. Food quality was really good and clean service.
Great quality and selection. Super attentive friendly staff also.
Pretty decent Indian buffet for the Durham region! We just had the vegetarian options and there were plenty to choose from. Their paneer curry had many big pieces of paneer. Some of the curries could use differing flavours however they were unique. My favourite was the vegetable pakora. They bring out fresh naan to the table which is a nice feature. There was butter on the naan and it was very fluffy as it was fresh. Dessert tasted home made which is always a bonus. Staff were also very friendly. The ambience could improve as it sometimes felt like a fast food place with the number of people coming for mobile orders or take out. Dinner price of $20.99 on a Friday night was not bad at all for the food. Would go back for sure!
I don t recommend Mumbay Grill restaurant Ajax. We went for lunch with our two children age 11 and 9. They charged my children as adults. They said, age 9 and above is adult for them. Seriously!!? Staff made us feel very uncomfortable: There was this young man (owner or waiter) that was watching us constantly. He had an eye on our table and every move. Their food wasn t great! Made me feel sick for the next two days. Even their veggies smelled like meat. Kid-friendliness: No kids friendliness there . Actually, it seems like the staff hate kids. It seems like if they could they would kick the kids out of the restaurant. They used to have fish pakoras that weren t spicy. I believe, they ve stopped serving that too. Except for the ice cream, there s nothing for the kids, unless your kids love spicy food.
Went for lunch had the buffet was smaller than other buffets around but many choices food was great, spicy for some dishes some not. food was very flavourful and we enjoyed everything, friendly service and clean, very pleased will go again! Try it! Vegetarian options: had many options Parking: Lots of parking available Kid-friendliness: Had highchairs and was great with my son friendly
Great buffet, not a ton of options, but what they have is tasty, with a few vegetarian options, and good price, a beer and buffet for under $20
This is the second time I ve gotten food poisoning from eating their butter chicken. I definitely will not be going near here again :(
The butter chicken with rice is good off the menu, cheap and fresh, the atmosphere and people are nice too
Excellent food. Not salty like some. Good selection of veg and non - veg. Very courteous staff. Altogether a pleasant experience.
Worst food ever! We were a fam of 4 adults and 2 kids. We went there after seeing reviews and rating and it turned out to be horrible!!! The moment u enter it looks shady and filthy..no clean carpets, seats, dining cloth, buffet table etc. The options were limited for buffet with tasteless, over cooked and over battered with no meat inside. The waitress was annoying as kept coming every 5 mins to clean plates even though it had food and we are still eating out of it!! We are from Bombay and Upon asking we got to know owner is from south India and the chef is from Nepal, both with no understanding of Mumbai/ Bombay food taste or cuisine..I wonder why the misleading name!! We regretted so much to eat there. They have unfriendly staff, unhygienic place, tasteless limited food. Not worth a penny!! I wonder how people rated this place with even with 2 stars?? A DEFINITE NO!!
I recently came to Canada and one of my friends recommended that we eat here. We went for dinner and had their buffet. The buffet had a lot of options to choose from for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I really like their butter chicken as it was my first time trying it and I really liked it. All of the food that we had here was really tasty and we really enjoyed the food. Not only was the food good, but the service was also even better as the servers were really kind and friendly. I give this place 10/10 and I recommend this place to everyone. WORTH THE MONEY!!!! Vegetarian options: One of my friend was a vegetarian and she had a lot of food options to choose from. The servers were really kind as they took their time expelling her which food were vegetarian and which were not.
Worst food I ever had, pls don t go der found a cockroach in gravy and owner is very rude
Nice buffet and good food.
We went to a party where the food was catered from here and we can honestly say the food was amazing. They are also so friendly and its so easy to place an order. You definitely have to try them out.
My favourite Indian restaurant! A wide range of food available in the buffet for a reasonable price, and the staff are very nice as well!
Good food. Serivce was slow. But overall the owner made sure we were very well taken care off. Would recommend for sure.
I was really excited to try this place after moving to Pickering, but it was really disappointing. We went at 8:15 on a Saturday night and the buffet tasted really stale as if it had been sitting for hours. Also, way too much food colouring is added. The chicken was disintegrating because of how long it was stewing in the curry. The place was not really well maintained, food on the steps. Overall, Im disappointed.
Catered food for birthday party . Everyone loved the taste and the service was prompt. Fair pricing for catering options.
Last two times the food was cold and soggy. Yesterday, the meat was not done properly, and I was up all night with tummy pain. They used to be really delicious but not sure if they have changed cooks but the food has gone down the drain. Never again.
It s too good buffet which I had in recent times. It s soooo yummy with decent price. Worthy buffet. Give a try when you are Hungry ..
Food is good, but it wasnt as tasty as 2-3 years ago. Reasonable price.
I cant stop eating spicy nice place love it
We have been coming here preCOVID. The food is great. The level of busy is steady so if you have reservations it s better especially for a big group. The spice level isn t that high either but if your not used to eating spicy finds you might find it spicy(probably a given). Their Gulab Jamun is good too. Their Buffett is split into a meat section and veggie sections. Their salad was fresh and crispy. The service is hit and miss. if you want Naan make sure you order this first. It takes a while and by that point if your doing the buffet option, ur food is already cold. If you tend to drink a lot of water, ask for a pitcher. Even that will take a while as well. Ambience is ok. It s a simplistic setting and likely same furniture for the last 7-8 years. Nothing is falling apart by any means and no bugs. Parking: Parking is free. There is parking along the plaza, plus into the back and into the other side of the plaza. It s harder to find parking during the day if the other stores are open so evening is better.
Please DO NOT eat here , we got bad stomach infection after we had their Buffet . NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. The food was stale, not tasty at all and was of low quality.
Ordered food for an event. They were easy to work with, they delivered as well. guests loved the food. Would highly recommend for ordering trays of food.
We did a party order from Mumbai Grill. The food quality and quantity both were good. They delivered the food on time. Dietary restrictions: Halal food
Great food and service
Very good food and variety. And great friendly service too.
My second recommendation for this place. It is the BEST Indian Restaurant in Ajax. Their food quality has been consistently great! Love their food.
For the price range, I have to give high marks. All you can eat buffet! Sometimes all you can eat buffets are really bad, just slap and dash, but this one was really worth the 20 dollars. Just a pity they don t do biryanis, but all in all, really great, with freshly baked nans. Vegetarian options: Yes Kid-friendliness: Yes
We had dinner here and decided to try the buffet. The food was delicious and very fresh. Plenty to choose from. The service was not very good. They didnt have dedicated servers, constantly had to flag someone down to ask for water or more naan bread. The way the buffet is situated doesnt work, especially if more than 2 people go up for food at the same time. The place is in need of a renovation.
Good all around food was good very tasty, price was fair no complaints!
We visited on week days for lunch buffet, menu was comparatively more then the others. Tandoori items were 5* including the Roti and naan. Hakka Chinese and gravy can do better with the taste.
If you are looking for mildly spiced and bland Indian dishes, this is your place to go. But for a person like me who is a spice lover, the buffet can never be enjoyed. I tried both lunch and dinner buffet here and the dinner was the worst. I would still continue to consider this place for takeouts of few dishes like kashmiri pulao and peas pulao - they are very good. Takeout dishes generally are very good in portion and thisnplace gives extra discounts on online takeout orders. Ubereats also often runs good offers for this place. Vegetarian options: Plenty vegetarian options. Parking: There are plenty parking but parking places just beside the restaurant generally remains full. Wheelchair accessibility: Buffet is not wheelchair accessible at all. Entrance can be quite difficult for wheelchair. Wheelchair parking is available.
Very poor quality food. There are better options in Durham region
Fast and efficient. Clean place
A good Indian buffet in the Durham region. Was surprised to see pani puri in a buffet, and loved it. Plenty of deserts to enjoy, while chicken kebab & tandoori were pure gold! Service can be slightly better as we ran out of naan bread. Liked the overall atmosphere, and the dinner buffet. Will certainly stop by again.
We recently ordered from here and were quite pleased with the quality of the food. The vindaloo was a perfect heat for my preference. Love the burn! The butter chicken was really good as well. The assorted appetizers are a great start to the meal. The portion of Naan is very generous as well.
Great food, I especially loved the butter chicken and and Tandoori platter. Service is great as well. Also they have a buffet if u are very hungry Food
I had Mumbai grill cater my sons birthday party. I have nothing but good things to say. They arrived on time to the venue. The food was hot and freshly made. Best of all, the food was amazing. We got a lot of compliments on the food and inquiries as to were we got the from from. Everyone loved it. I especially loved the Shahi paneer. A lot of my guests loved the Goat Curry. Great job Mumbai Grill! We will be returning in the future for all our catering needs. I highly recommend their catering.
Food, service, atmosphere all are great here.
Food: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Atmosphere: 1/5 Service: 5/5 This restaurant is quickly becoming my favourite Indian buffet. The food is so delicious and fresh. The menu offers both buffet and individual orders as well. The buffet has a huge selection of items including but not limited to butter chicken, daal makni, palou, fish pakoras etc. the buffet also has a dessert bar that has rasmalai, gulab jaman, pudding, and an ice cream bar. The price is around $22 after taxes per person which is so fair. The only downfall this restaurant has is that it is VERY dirty and makes me not want to eat inside at all. The floors, the tables, everything has not been cleaned since this restaurant was opened. The cleanliness of the place is concerning, but I m a foodie, and I m gonna eat even if it threatens my good health They re halal dining certified.
They really need to up thier game on their dinner buffet. The food was mediocre. Couple of items were good (goat curry, fish pakora, rasmalai) but the rest was below average (roast chicken, chicken tikka masala, macaroni, biryani, macaroni, gulab jamun, etc). There is a great opportunity for dinner buffets because there are no other options in this area. Service was great though.
Food was delicious and priced right. The service was very good too, the woman was very helpful and nice. The atmosphere could be improved (AC was too high, benches were kind of sticky) but the food was sooo good. We had a lot of fun sharing a bunch of dishes.
I love coming here for a good, affordable Indian cusine experience. I love all the dishes they offer here at all you can eat. I have taken out their exclusive on menu items, and the buriyani really slaps. Defiently try their pani puri section, I swear I can devour 10 of these before heading off to their actual menu. Since I come here so often, I wish they could rotate some of the dishes, and I repetitly see them often. Also, their lamb curry is to die for. It literally falls off the bone. Vegetarian options: They defiently have a wide range of vegetarian dishes and theyre all so good, especially their curry made with mung beans Parking: Parking isnt so dense here, but sometimes you have to park and walk from the end of the lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Even if its located on the first floor, access to the buffet is only available on the mid section seperated by a small flight of stairs.
Food is bad.
This is quite possibly the worst indian food Ive ever had. Extremely bland, tasteless food. Not one dish was decent. Im pretty sure the other reviews here with 4 or 5 stars are fake.
Great Halal buffet place in Durham. Went there for lunch buffet for Adult $17.99. Food was good except one time was not fresh. Other fresh items tasted good.
Ordered Sev puri first time in Ubereats but it was one of the worst Ive ever had. The preparation was worst, no chutney, no spicy and nothing else excited. It was simple puris and mixed badly with other few things. Will never recommend neither will go nor order again.
Great food!!
Per all you can eat now from different restaurant is $36 per person HERE is $36 for 2 so it is not a waste throwing money Food : 5/5
Ordered on uber eats - the garlic naan was amazing, the butter chicken and other stuff I ordered was really good and not as oily/spicy as other places. Only downside i would say is the portion sizes could be a bit larger for the price your paying. 4/5
Rude manager who lies to people ordering for catering says one price then completely switches his story. If you want to eat here go ahead but if you want to order catering DO NOT GO HERE
The all you can eat buffet is well worth the price, lots of dishes are offered, loved the Butter Chicken as they used the Tandoori Chicken in this dish and the Mutter Paneer was great, Pakoras were perfect. Ordered the Lamb Kheema Dosa on the side, which was really nice. Restaurant cleanliness is questionable, servers were very kind and attentive.
Food here is amazing. The biryani is authentic and flavourful. The buffet is sooo worth it with lots of goodies to choose from
I had dinner here with my family last night, and it was a great experience. The servers were kind and attentive, and brought us fresh naans as needed, the goat curry was delicious, and my toddler really enjoyed the fish pakoras. Good amount of food choices, nice ambiance, and the buffet price is well worth it. Already looking forward to going back!
Such a great food. The food was soo good and perfect in taste. The thing that I liked most was the buffet service with good prices. I love the food.
Tried their buffet back in 2017 and decided to give them another chance this week, but I was still very disappointed. The biriyani and butter chicken were both flavourless with large chunks of fatty chicken pieces in both. The gravy in the butter chicken itself was passable, and the garlic naan was decent; however, I don t think I ll be returning.
Excellent food and great service as well. I recommend to visit this restaurant and taste the Indian cuisine.
Today I visited with my family to taste the Indian cuisine. I am from Nepal and me and my family went to taste the Indian cuisine so we can get taste of south asian food. When I tried food, it remember my food from my back country. I loved the food. The most that I liked was hariliya tikka, chicken tikka and butter chicken with naan. Thank you for you great service.
The most amazing Indian food you will ever have, trust me! I ordered through UberEats yesterday (butter chicken, garlic naan and aloo gobi) and it was sooo good that I had to get it today too!!! And feeling a little adventurous I wanted to try a mild lamb dish, phoned the restaurant and the manager, Durga, was so helpful in suggesting lamb korma which was most probably the most delicious lamb I ve ever had. It was cooked to perfection, mild in spice and so flavourful. The butter chicken was plentiful in meat and gravy that was just life changing in itself. The food also was not full of oil. They also provide a generous amount of rice to go with their dishes which is so appreciated. Don t hesitate! Order today! There is no other place Indian place in my opinion that comes close to this amazing food. Can t wait to try their restaurant in person and have them host some important events. Keep up the great work!
It s nice place for all the food lovers
Many great selections at the buffet. The naan bread was very fresh and so good! The service was excellent - the server was very helpful and pleasant. An overall excellent experience!
Restaurant was very clean, food was delicious and service was great.
Everything is outstanding . I wish I could give them 10 star . Hormazd hospitality is awesome. Great Job team .
We went so many times alakarte was always good. Today thought to try the buffet. But it was not at all good. Limited number of starters. Mix veg was stale. No bhajiya in kadhi. Matter paneer and other veg dishes are not up to the mark. Non-veg items were good. Guys you were our always go to place in the time of pendamic. Dont know why the quality of food was not good today.
We ordered a wide range of dishes, including onion bhaji which had a long, thick black hair baked right into the middle of it. Absolutely disgusting - we threw out all of the food because if there is a hair in there it means the kitchen must be completely unsanitary. Avoid unless you like hair in your food.
VERY tasty, plenty of options and good service. I will definitely be returning here for meetings and friends.
This is one of the restaurant offers best value to your money. Lunch buffet is lot more valuable than what I paid. Taste and service is good. Completely satisfied.
Great food. Always very fast service. We liked the Chana masala and tandoori chicken
Great for vegetarians. Food is delicious and service is professional. Vegetarian options: Many veggie options Parking: Ample parking
The best place this side of India for an opulent authentic Indian feast. The homemade paneer is abundant, overflowing in their paneer dishes - matar paneer, paneer makhani etc, plenty of rice, dahl, channa masala, pakoras, samosas, poppers, unlimited naan, salad bar, sweet rice and warm gulab jamuns, topped off with a fresh fruit array, ice cream flavours, mango lassi, etc etc etc! Enjoy!
Let me tell you the Mumbay grill is the best Indian cuisine I been to ever, the music the atmosphere was tranquility aloud me to eat three big plates. The services was spectacular had to tip 20 percent.the Nan bread was on perfect and my date was beautiful as well thank you God
Good food, affordable buffet . Good spread too for everyone
Did Uber eats. Ordered butter chicken. Not happy.
This was hands down the best Indian food/buffet I ve had in many years. This is the place to go in Ajax!
Ajax has a variety of restaurants. I was searching for a good Indian place that served all my favourite dishes as a buffet but didnt find it, Until today! This store is a hidden jem. Great food wonderful service open late aswell. I wish i came sooner. The buffet ends at 9 and i got there at 830 so i missed some of the amazing dishes. Just more reason to come back
Ok for Solo Dine-in. This place entry, floor, tables and windows are so filthy that I turn around and went different place. If the owner did not care to clean the salon, high chances are the kitchen suffer similar fate. The hostess let me see the buffet, same as every Indian lunch buffet.
Love the Tandoori Chicken. Keep up the great work.
Great food and fair prices!!
Awesome place for buffet
Really disappointed with the food quality . Every dish was sour it could be likely possible that the curries where made couple a days ago. The rice was not cooked. Please conduct a food safety inspection on this restaurant
Good cozy place for a nice Indian buffet. They serve wheat Naan bread as well in addition to traditional naan ( Maida ). Staff is friendly. Veg/Non-veg curries and starters was really tasty.
Amazing take out! Got the chicken vindaloo (more than once) and the beef curry. Authentic, rich flavours. Many other Indian restaurants have overly greasy dishes. These dishes were not and were very tasty. I wish they offered plain white rice but other than that, this place is great for Indian take out! Will be ordering again.
Affordable and Great selection for the buffet!
Amazing food. Im mixed and for Indian food its awesome. All you can eat and awesome price as well. Service is awesome and just make sure you come with an empty belly
Amazing food and superb service always. I look forward to their lunch buffets.
Amazing food and very affordable prices.
Average food in buffet; Rice dishes were not fresh.
Went for lunch buffet and felt it to be worth the price. All dishes are good. Felt gulab jamun was too sweet.
Great east Indian cuisine! Just may be the best in Durham region!
Top class north Indian lunch buffet. Went there on a weekend. Loved the food. Delicious Buffet price $17. Highly recommended!!!
Friendly faces, diverse menu and good taste is mainstay of this place. The food is very palatable. The Nans are very delicious. The alternative is either further away or expensive. Or compromise with food quality. For the price ($17 pp) quality and. Variety this is the place to go
One of the very nice place in Ajax for having Indian food. Quite spacious and comfortable seating. Both ala cart and all you can eat buffet available in veg and non-veg categories. The buffet price is different for week days and weekends, also for lunch and dinner, but both veg and non-veg buffet cost is same. The spread is decent, with starters, side dishes, salads, main course , dessert etc. and the food is tasty. Goat curry, butter chicken and tandoori chicken are part of the spread daily, other couple of options keep changing everyday. They could add some more variety in the dessert selection. The staff is courteous and service is good. Value for money, will visit again. Vegetarian options: Both veg and non veg options are available in the buffet and a-la-carte. In fact some vegan options can also be made available on request. Parking: Open common parking available
Excellent food. Never had such amazing naan anywhere else. Everything else tasted amazing too.
Went for $19.99 dinner buffet and was not disappointed. Great value for the price. We really enjoyed the naan, butter chicken, and tikka masala. Service was good as well.
Quantity of food was good but tasty was below avg. I was expecting much from them. Need to improve
A BIG NO FOR BRIYANI. I ordered for Briyani and they gave spiced jira rice. Theres no smell or taste of briyani. The chef should really learn how to make briyani.
Nice place to enjoy some good Indian buffet.
The food was great it was all you can eat.
Food was delicious. So many varieties for vegetarian. Staff was friendly. Quick service. Great experience.
The food is authentic Indian and the quality very good. The buffet is rich and the service very friendly. Looking forward to come again.
Excellent customer service. Best place to Dine in.
My first all you can eat Indian food restaurant. It was just really good and tasty I will definitely go back!!
