Great place to enjoy food

One of my go to places for a decent yet flavourful chicken dinners. Their chicken boast flavours and taste. Highly recommend

My family and I arrived here at 7:11 pm on Friday and were refused service because they were closing at 8. 2 servers went back and forth around us without even asking if we wanted to order to go. They werent accepting dine in. All we wanted was a sandwich. Food is good but with service like this no one will support this business.

The chicken and squid were cooked to perfection. Mac and cheese were served cold but tasted great and the chicken and pork skin were good as well. It was hot inside but didnt stop me from eating.

Catering and dining in makes a huge difference. Anyone trying their food first time is recommended to dine-in first. Dining-in will give you a much better experience than doing catering (still good by the way). If I visit Ajax again, I will come back here again.

I just picked up for the first time. The chicken was delicious, the potatoes were perfectly cooked. I was also able to pick up fresh portuguese cheese and frozen codfish cakes to cook at home which was a bonus I wasnt expecting.

Just ate the no cold drinks no ice, undercooked bitoque poorly cooked egg over frozen fries anyone knows how to peel potatoes, shouldve gone to McDonalds food is better. Can keep going but this place not even worth the review.

We ordered via Uber Eats as a group. $170 PLUS for 5 lunches.Rice was not cooked, Chicken dry, very disappointing , as we were told need to try it. We called to have food replaced, they did replace the order, that is great, problem was not only was there an attitude with the one that dropped food off, he took the old food back. I thought for health reasons , companies do not take food back. They must have given someone elses food from the day before.

This was the worse Portuguese chicken I have ever ate in my life. I honestly was so disappointed! I m not one to write reviews usually I just keep it pushing but with the economy we are currently living in there is no way someone should waste their hard earned money on this food. I bought a chicken dinner which came with rice , potatoes and chicken. Where do I even start the rice was undercooked and was hard. The potatoes were tasteless and lacked any type of seasoning you could think of, and the chicken the CHICKEN MAN! THE MAIN PART OF THE DISH! was absolutely terrible it lacked any type of flavour which is so disappointing cause the colour and everything was on point. I even tried to come home and fix it by adding my own sauce and putting it in the oven to see if I could get some flavour in it but still NOTHING. The service however, was great ladies were lovely. But the cook just seems tired or lacks any type of knowledge of Portuguese cooking. Please go back to the drawing boards guys because the food is to expensive to taste like this!

Wow! I cannot believe how kind and incredible the staff at this location are. I foolishly placed a big take out order on the WRONG date and went to go in the next day (the date I thought I ordered it for) and turns out they had the whole order there the day before and it got wasted, I did get a notification but I assumed it was for my planned date all my fault, living in lala land over here Thankfully they took pity on me and re made my whole entire order, for no charge, so my son could have his fave food on his bday. Of course, I gave a tip to say thank you but I had to share this incredible act of kindness with everyone! The food here is the absolute best too, and now I know why, the staff running this location are so full of love they cannot help but cook with it! Thank you and I ll be back, time and time again. We picked up from this Ajax store for a staff party. The food was amazing fresh and plentiful! GREAT JOB !

I am so disappointed at this place. I was soo hungry, tried to order few things and when the price came up, it was soooo expensive. This place is ridiculous expensive. I asked the cashier to take some food out and while she was talking to.me she forgot to take one of the ribs out. Which by the way was soo expensive. I left the place, ane she came running to my car and asked me to give back the extra rib. This was soooo embarrassing and she took from my hand when I was in my car and took inside and put back to.the same place in front of other customers. Not just made me feel like i was stealing something that was her fault, she did all that in front of others and gave me attitude when I told her I did not appreciate her doing that. Wait I did not finish it. The soap i bought was so cold, the fish was not cooked well and the ribs sucks. I really think things need to change. It was to be my favorite place and then they changed the owners and now Im going through this embarrassing moment and so not necessary. If she made a mistake, thats too bad. Now coming running asking me to give the food back after I touched the plate and then puts back for others to eat. Thats disgusting. This is my opinion and they probably will say a different story to make them look ok. Typical way to go.

By far the best Portuguese chicken in Durham and I would even argue it can take on several in the city. The chicken, hot sauce and other delicious options are amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

I placed a catering order for my sons birthday party and couldnt be more happy. Staff was friendly, knowledgable and very organized in placing my order and setting it up for delivery. The food was delicious, great presentation and portioning. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to order Portuguese food.

A great Lil gem to explore. To keep it short and sweet, the muscles were amazing and probably the best thing we had. The house stake needed salt and it felt like non was used on that plate. Over all the service and food was great, please visit them.

Get the positive out of the way The piri piri sauce was absolutely DELICIOUS! However, when we ordered a chicken and a half, they asked sauce on top, ok? To which we said no, on the side please . The main person in our group we were ordering this food for CANNOT have any spiciness whatsoever. Picked up our order and drove the 25 mins home, chicken was completely drenched in the sauce. They couldn t eat what we ordered that night such a waste. Also, not sure if they use mini chickens, but they hack up all the meat into small chunks and there seemed to be almost no white meat. Potatoes were good, rice was super bland. Was a pretty disappointing first visit and doubtful that we ll go back.

Ive enjoyed the churrasco chicken and seafood Platter for many party events with my family and friends.

I ordered their ribs and potatoes and they food was AWFUL. The ribs were extremely dry, no sauce on my ribs, the potatoes were cold. Very disappointing.

I bought food after long time today at lunch, because i have no chance to come this way for any work anyway i ordered half chicken dinner with chucken veg and rice and sause on the top i tasted the veg its old and soggie(watery taste) the chicken i tasted is FEELS VERY BAD TASTE, I LEFT THE PLACE AS SOON AS I BOUGHT THE FOOD BECAUSE I PARKED MY TRUCK ON THE ROAD LATER I TASTED AWFUL, THE LADY WHO SERVED TO ME SERVED LIKE I AM GETTING FREE food from her,once upon a time i pass by i always buy food feom them but from my experience today, i never recommend this place to buy food.

I did take out, the chicken was good and the salad was fresh. The rice was extremely dry and terrible. The potatoes were simply okay.

We ordered dinner from Churrasco of Portugal for our May 27th backyard wedding with 50 guests. The ordering process was so easy and I felt very reasonably priced for the amount of food that we received. They were able to deliver it to us, which was very convenient, and the food was hot when it arrived. We ordered trays of rotisserie chicken, filets of fish, rice, potatoes, salad and a seafood rice that had an incredible medley of seafood including lobster tails. Our guests ate very well!!

Quite tasty and very good portions. Half chicken and chicken breast cutlets are good. The piri piri sauce is also very flavorful. The sides are fresh and variety is nice. Great spot for lunch or great to cater for home as well if you are having guests.

Every time we come here we eat up the food so fast that we can t get a picture but this time we got takeout and caught a snapshot before we dove in. Safe to say we LOVE it here!

I order for take out half chicken dinner here but,when we get home to eat it s dry.. maybe because I ask the sauce on the side? but the sauce is only small cup literally not enough lol! I hope they at least put in a little bit big cup. The potato is good the rice is ok. Hope if ever we come back the can add more sauce and chicken is not Dry.

Their hours of operations aren t really their hours of operation, which is fine because we understand what it s like to have your own business. The chicken is amazing!!!!!! Really all their food is really good We are bi weekly customers and are never disappointed

My first impression wasn t what I was hoping for, absolutely love Portuguese food but this was a miss for me. The potatoes & rice lacked flavour and the chicken was hard and really dry almost like jerky.

We have been enjoying their food for years and it has always been totally delicious!! Today was very different, the chicken was dry and really salty and the rice had no flavor! The sauce that comes with it has always been really good with lots of flavor and some heat! I loved it on the rice, but today it had no flavor, no heat and it was overwhelming salty!! I cant image going back! Are they under new management? What a waste of money!

Best catering Restaurant spent $500 for 45 people chicken, Rice, potatoes and Salad everyone loved. 100% recommend.

This was only the second time weve been there lately. The food is always great except last Friday they had no rice left, but we got everything else we wanted!

Tasty churrasco chicken, potatoes and rice but it was all pretty cold by the time I got it home. They have it ready when you take out so service is quick but it didnt taste as fresh or as hot as I would have liked.

Had the BBQ 1/2 Chicken dinner. Will say potatoes were perfect. The chicken however was Very Dry ! and hard to swallow. If I go back Im definitely not getting chicken again.

We were looking to try Portuguese food for the first time for our anniversary, so came across this local place. So we went to give it a try. upon entering, it was clear it was more of a take out place, the take out front counter and food and warmers right out front. Understandably due to covid for the focus on take out. Dining room nothing special. Utensils like from the dollar store and paper placemats. as we got the menus we asked about Paella which was showing on their menu online. they said they did not have it that day. My girlfriend wanted that, so we discussed if we wanted to stay or go somewhere else. We decided to stay and try other foods. We ordered flaming sausage app and then she ordered the chicken and i ordered the back ribs. App was ok sausage was a bit burned, black but was ok. There was a long time gap before they brought us the entrees. There was only one other table in the restaurant. i had thought maybe they were making fresh vs just scooping from the warmers in the take out section. i was wrong. once we finally received the entrees they were not hot at all, barely warm. my ribs with veggies and side greek salad, very dissappointing. Ribs were flavourful but warm at best and on the tough side, clearly taken from take out warmer. Veggies were terrible, cold and way over boiled, soft and limp and no flavour. i tried to put some butter on it and the butter would not melt as veggies were cold. Greek side salad was only pleasant surprise as it came in a bowl and was much larger than a side. 2 out of 5 for my meal. My GFs chicken was much better, good portions of chicken and flavourful. She had rice and side potatoes which were good. she said it rated 4.5 out of 5 for hers. For dessert we decided to try a few since they were only $5 each. choc mousse and nala i think it was called. they came in small take out style plastic containers. Mousse was very sweet and nala was ok. We both agreed not so great. So overall disappointing experience. My gf said she would get the chicken again but only on take out. I would not go back again. Prices are reasonable, though.

The chicken is good but BAD customer service. I ordered chicken for take out but changed my mind and decided to eat there. When i was paying, the guy and lady told me told me that i ordered for take out. I ask the cashier if i can eat it there and he said he doesn t know. (Dude your working there!) As i received my order, the staffs are glaring at us because i insisted on dining there. I was not able to enjoy my meal because of that. If you are in restaurant business like that, you should care for your customers need and should be able to accomodate for a slightly change. It is not even busy, and there are so much tables available. I am very disappointed.

I wish they had a location in Oshawa so I wouldn t have to drive all the way to Ajax when my family craves this place especially with gas prices now This place is always busy on the weekends for good reason. My family loves their BBQ chicken with peri peri sauce. I am a big fan of their fish and potatoes. We always do take out and it s fast service if you order ahead. I appreciate their hours of op. This place is a bit like nandos at Kennedy Commons and a bit like brassas in Mississauga. Its not as great as both. Wish they gave more sauce but overall the portions are huge, the food is still really good and the prices are very fair. Wish the hot sauce was spicier but thats just my opinion.

We ordered ribs and half a chicken, the meat was really well prepared, each came in unique sauce. The potatoes and rice were pretty plain, not enough flavour, so keep in mind to dip them in sauce or ask for salt/pepper. They serve very delicious bread with butter and olives if you choose to dine in. Try their spicy oil - its really spicy. Parking: Convenient location on the plaza, parking was available

This is by far the best Portuguese chicken. Im never disappointed my one and only complaint is that I wish you had a location closer to Scarborough as we have no Portuguese chicken at all in Scarborough and Im sure it would be a great success.

This was my familys first time coming to this restaurant, so we wanted to try everything! We never had authentic Portuguese food and had all our questions answered with great detail by the restaurant staff. They were very accommodating to our requests and ensured we had a great time. We definitely enjoyed the complimentary bread, and will be coming back next time we are in the area!

Been here for take out only. Recently we decided to dine in. I always thought they only severed chicken. To my surprise they have a lot of different dishes. Wonderful fish options, steak, pork. The food is excellent. Service is friendly. Price is reasonable: it s a great family restaurant if you don t want to break the bank. Seafood is very good. They have the best chips with your meal. Only Portuguese places make them like this. Wish they had longer hrs.

Worst service ever. We arrived at 7:15, and they said out loud that they will close soon and that if we wanted to sit down we could only eat what was left on the counter because they have closed the kitchen and were cleaning up. Really??? On their web page says they close at 8,but at 7:15pm they had already closed the kitchen and cleaning up and on top of that treated us as we were doing something wrong because we dare to come for dinner? Never again!!!

Whenever I have a cravings for delicious food, this restaurant comes to mind. I appreciate how fresh and delicious the dishes are prepared. The chicken is tender, juice, and bursts with flavor. The little round potatoes are addictive. I always find satisfaction here. Strongly recommended.

Purchased 4 half chicken dinners. No sauce on the food asked for it to be on side. Live 15 minutes away and came home to sauce containers spilled everywhere in the bag. It was a total mess. Once home no one wanted to eat. You would think they would invest in better containers for sauce especially on an order of more than $70. We had no peri peri sauce on our food and didnt get to have the full experience.

I come here often to get their whole chicken! Its either BBQ or roasted, but both hit the spot. I especially like the spicy version since that is really good. I look forward to coming back here for more!

Just finished purchasing 120$ worth of this chicken, rice and potatoes. The rice and potatoes are pretty decent. The chicken tho, leaves much to be desired. We could barely eat it, it was incredibly dry. It was really hard to swallow. If this had been a much cheaper price point then I get it, you get what you pay for. This wasn t a cheap lunch, and to be almost suffocating from trying to eat this chicken and having spent what we did is really not fair, or worth it.

Ordered on a Saturday for a Sunday event! Had about 16 folks over, and got enough food for more than that. Everything was tasty, well flavoured and staff was super friendly and helpful. Would totally order again and would recommend to anyone looking for large amounts of food for a large crowd.

After a hike some friends and myself dropped by here. Between us all we ordered the chicken dinner, the cod fish and the chicken cutlets. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Chicken is amazing and authentic. Fish was great as well. Having been to Portugal, one thing we loved was all of the good food. Portuguese know how to eat.

Two churrasco bbq chickens, sauce (mild) on the side. Yes, this is my order, weekly. This spot is my go to chicken spot. Flamed grilled butterfly chickens, delicious home-made peri peri. The other stuff is good to, but I keep coming back for the chicken. Best value for Portuguese chicken in all of the GTA. Prove me wrong.

Ordered several items in the menu but found their food too salty. Also, we ordered for pick up at 7pm, but got notice that the food would be late. When I got to the store, the containers were not bagged yet and the lady who packed everything sure took her sweet time like no one is waiting. Will not come back here again.

Great Portguese chicken restaurant. As good or better that the Dupont Portuguese restaurants. But unfortunately in less than one year the price of dining in has gone up 20% and the food size, particularly the salads with meal have been reduced in half. I can understand the price increase from inflation, but reducing the food size is unacceptable. I probably won t be returning to this place, and will be going elsewhere. Too bad, it really was a great restaurant

Simply the best Portugese food I have tried in the GTA. The portions are large and super flavorful. This is restaurant is highly recommended!

My family is addicted to this place. The food is fantastic. I am making my way through the menu but my all time favorite is the Bacalhau À Casa Dinner! Heaven on earth. The prices are amazing! Thanks to all the staff they are truly amazing.

The food quality is inconsistent, the first time my family got food here it was delicious and cooked perfectly. The few times since then weve gone back have been very inconsistent, chicken skin very fatty and watery instead of crispy, half the potatoes were hard and the other half way overcooked.

I tried their bacalhau for the first time and I wasted $60. I made the mistake of buying 3 bacalhau dinner meals for my family and me. It was unedible!!! The fish was sooooo salty you couldnt eat it. I asked my Portugese friends and they all said this is not how bacalhau should be. It seems they failed to soak the fish properly to get rid of all of the overwhelming salt in the fish. Never again will I waste my money for bacalhau at this place.

Half chicken dinner is simply amazing. The sauce is to die for. Ive never had this before and my first time trying. SO WORTH IT!

I tried this place for the first time on fathers day. We got the Chicken, rice, potatos and a Greek salad. The Chicken was grate perfectly cooked with a Smokey flavor and the dipping sauce was so good I wish it came with more. The rice and potato were a little bland in flavor for my taste but also cooked well. No complaints with the salad. I will be back for sure to get the chicken again and to try out the ribs and some of the sea food plates. The price is also very good $14 for a whole chicken you cant beat that.

We ordered several items for a family dinner, and it was fantastic. BBQ chicken, ribs, chorizo, rice, potatoes, and salad. So much more food than we expected and everything was cooked so well. Even grandma complimented the chicken! Definitely order from here!!

What a little gem of a place. The serving staff at the counter were friendly and so cheerful. The place has a lovely country feel - could have been anywhere in Portugal perhaps. The crowd in there were familiar faces as if from the village nearby. We went there for lunch, and were absolutely delighted with the food. We had the half chicken dinner, the pork chop and the churrasco BBQ chicken. Each portion is super generous, and amazingly done to perfection. The chicken was off the bone tender and laced with the special sauce was an absolute delight. That peri peri sauce is to die-for delish! The pork chop was OK but could not stand up to the chicken. The mains are usually served with two side orders and we chose the rice and Parisian potatoes (absolutely a must try, yummy). The churrasco flavor chicken BBQ was great as well. Would have been great over a glass of table wine, but we didnt remember to order that. The prices for what you get are great. The meal was delicious. Will be back for sure! Highly recommend it.

Wow what a find! We were visiting this plaza accidently and came across this warm and cozy Portuguese grill. First of all, the staff are polite and friendly, the food is delicious with tons of flavor and the portions are huge and generous! I Would highly recommend!!

I didn t understand the hype about this place. First time trying it and was underwhelmed. The potatoes were stale, dry and oily. Potatoes should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and these definitely didn t taste like that, I couldn t even mash it for my son to eat. The chicken was ok - don t see how it s better than a rotisserie chicken from Costco. The skin was soggy and it was browned off everywhere, some skin was white. Overpriced for what they offer.
