Food is ALWAYS delish and fresh. They have the best salads..and I always add on salmon..which is seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly too. I started playing pickleball with a group of friends, we intended on going somewhere different every week..just for fun..but ended up just going back week after week be cause the food is so good. And the service is also ALWAYS AWESOME. The environment could be a bit..better...sometimes really noisy....and sometimes the music is too loud. Otherwise..awesome place to go.

The food is really good, service tends to be slow - been a few times and noticed most of the servers tend to take their leisure time. Not sure why but the AC is always on full blast and gets really cold in the restaurant, doesn t matter if it s hot or cold outside.

Whether your looking to watch the game with some drinks and food or looking for lunch out with colleagues portly piper has you covered. Was here for the Tuesday wing night ($1/wing) , the wings are big, cooked great, and they have a good sauce and dry rub selection. Lots of tvs with the different sports games on but not loud so you can still talk to the people that you are with easily.

Shannon and Elizabeth deserve a raise! We were invited for a birthday party and the service we received went above and beyond what would be deemed necessary. The food was INCREDIBLE on top of the fantastic service. I just wish there was a Portly Piper in my town! Great job everyone! Wings burnt Ribs overcooked and apparently dont show pay per view fights on Sat night. Patrons had to resort to play fight on their phones.

I have an amazing experience most of the time here. Was here on Saturday with a couple buddies and despite it being busy our server (I believe her name was Tracy) was great and made good conversation with us. Food as usual was great.

Popped in for a bite on a NFL Sunday. Atmosphere was great, we were surprised to get a table so quick. Service was cordial and prompt; food was good. This is my first visit to Canada . My experience at Portly Piper Pub, Ajax, was amazing. The food was delicious . 100%. But what was most amazing is your attendant, Candace!!! She was and is remarkable. I am a Senior CSR at my work place in Trinidad . What I saw this afternoon was a representation as to how a people person (CSR) should be!!!!. She gets a thumbs up, . I love this place and have been going here for years. I ve been very dissapointed the past 2 times I ve went on chicken wing night. My chicken wings tasted fishy as if they had cooked other foods in that same oil just before. This place has always had the best wings but have recently not been the greatest Food

I have been to Portly Piper several times and I have always had an enjoyable experience. I was greeted at the door and offered a seat. The waiter was friendly and informative, suggesting a couple options for drinks. The food was delicious, the wings were flavorful and well cooked.The atmosphere was chill, and the area we were in was fairly quiet, at the top. Although people go for all different reasons so some noise and excitement should be expected.

We had the most amazing service from Elizabeth! We can in with two large groups and she handled everything so great. Came two days in a row and enjoyed the food and service.

This was by far the best place our team and parents eat at all weekend. Elizabeth was our server and had our food out so fast and was very efficient with the whole order. We eat here Friday and Saturday with our hockey team, there was over 30 of us and it was so smooth running she by far is the best server I have been served by so far.

I often come for lunch with family and friends here. The food is good here on the odd occasion. its not. There are a ton of options, and the service can be slow due to the crowds of people they have most days. I fint the weekend is less busy actually. Chicken parm is one of my friends favorites here. We always get some appetizers, and the perogies are a go-to. This time, we tried the Mexican beef triangles, which were very tasty. I have tried many items and enjoyed most.

4 stars My most recent visit to Portly Piper pub was on the busiest day of the year St Patricks day. We arrived there before 6pm and it was already packed. We checked in with the hostess, and they took our phone number and told us we would receive a call when our table is ready. We waited about 20 minutes, and the hostess decided to give us a seat in the back of the dining room. My wife ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner $18 which comes with greek salad, rice, and lemon potatoes. The rice portion was rather small compared to the large helping of Greek salad. The chicken were grilled cubes from skewers rather than chopped grilled chicken breast. The chicken was cooked well, done and a bit dry. There is tzatziki sauce to dip the chicken. My order was Garlic Jalapeños chicken. It came with Greek salad as well. The dish consists of a breaded chicken cutlet covered in garlic and buttery Jalapeños sauce. A generous helping of basmati was provided for this dish. We ordered 2 pints of Coors light $6.50 each. The bill came up to about $55 taxes in. Overall, we enjoyed the food however the St Patricks day crowd was a turn off. Lots of loud, obnoxious, drunk people. If you want some delicious traditional pub food give this place a try. Their food has never failed us yet. Prepare to wait on Fridays and weekends. Updated review 3 stars Latest visit on June 10, 2023. We came here after watching a movie. Saturdays are chefs specials and $20 rib and wing combo. My wife ordered the korean short ribs $21, and I ordered the Supreme Chicken $20. The short ribs came with potato salad and sticky rice, which was not cooked properly too mushy. You get 3 full racks for beef short ribs. The ribs were seasoned well. However, some parts were chewy. The supreme chicken was a big disappointment. You get a half roasted chicken stuffed with a little bit of feta cheese and spinach. The dish was very underwhelming and lacked seasoning. The chicken was dry and would have helped if there was a sauce on top of the chicken. I was very surprised when the food came out so fast. Kind of wonder if the food was made for another table and then served to us. We usually enjoy their food, but this time, the food did not meet our expectations. The total bill with 2 pints of Coors light came up to $61.02. Maybe this was an off day for the kitchen, because the table across from us had to send back their order because the prime rib sandwich was raw. I hope they take note and train their kitchen staff to season the dish properly and ensure its cooked properly. I will probably come back but maybe in a few months or so. Too expensive now.

Its a sports bar with pub food. They lean a little too heavily on the microwave. Probably a good place to watch an event on a Friday night with nibbles. I wouldnt make it a destination for good food.

The food is fresh, good quality and the servings are large with a lot of value for your money. But really impressed with their customer service. Ordered online with a 1 hour delivery time, the food didnt arrive and it was over 1hr 20 (Im pretty patient), called the restaurant and the food was delivered to the wrong address, this was very frustrating as this was my 80 yr old mothers dinner, we already ordered late for her 8 pm bedtime so I was more annoyed and hangry than Id like to admit. I believe I spoke to the manager and he was apologetic and made everything right. Even though the food that was supposed to be hot was delivered cold and soggy, it still tasted pretty good. Appreciate the great service! Would recommend

Food has the potential to be great, looking at the ratings you may consider them to be really good. Id say meh! They have a twist on most recipes and the twists were not to my liking. I would be back to try other dishes to see if I may favor some others. The vibe is tremendous at this joint, especially on game days.

It is in a strip mall, but dont let that fool you!! This is a gem in Ajax. It is always busy, pumping out great food and drinks. They have a nice patio and many TVs to watch the big games.

I visited this place for the first time September 06, 2024. I was surprised by the great food selection and the price is excellent. My family and I are looking forward to returning soon. Great job Praveen for the take out favor you approved, your good deed won you a returning customer for life.

Super busy Saturday dinner time, and we had a large party but the staff handled it all very well. The one criticism is that the restaurant was remarkably noisy, not from music, just from the crowd? And having MMA on the TVs during dinner didnt provide a positive atmosphere.

Very good butter chicken. Will have to be back to try the other dishes.

My friends and family been going to the Ajax location for over 8 years and let me tell the owner is always there at every given time , staff is quick and the food let me tell the best Pub food in Durham! Portion price is generous and always fresh! I love to support local businesses but to find the most consistent and value hands down Portly in Ajax!!! Keep up the great work!

12 dollars for a 2 ounce drink and 30 bucks for 2 lbs of wings then I get them checking up on me for using the washroom, buyer beware dont go in Fridays

Changed a ton since I worked there from 01-05. Sydney was a tremendous server. Our appetizer arrived after our meals and the manager comped it as an apology. Food was great. The vegetarian pad Thai was really good and they gave me so much that I also had it for lunch the next day. My wife really liked her French Grilled Cheese and my father enjoyed his Beef Dip. Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms. Large selection of Beer and Wing Sauces.

I recently tried to call for takeout after our family had had a very long exhausting day and were starving. If anyone knows what its like to have two children under two ... You know what kind of day Im talking about. We were burnt out and just wanted to pick up some food on our way home after not eating all day. I was in the middle of putting in the order when my toddler started crying and while I was addressing him, the male on the phone taking my order very rudely hung up on me. He could have said hey listen Ive noted your order so far, call back when things have calmed down. Or just given me a moment. But no. He just hung up without a word. Because of this I will never give my business to them again. I will no longer pick up for them with good reviews when others put down this location in review groups or recommend the restaurant. They have lost a loyal customer. So incredibly rude and insensitive of that employee.

Ordered the Braised Beef short rib mac and cheese. Ate it and was thinking something wasnt right then I realized multiple components described on the menu were missing from my order. When I told the waitress she called over the manager. The manager proceeded to tell us that our dish was correct and that the missing ingredients - panko parmesan crumble and cheese sauce- never come with the dish. He gave us 15% off then said fine ill do 20%. After arguing with me and telling me that they always serve the dish not as advertised, that is all he did. Abysmal service from the Friday night manager.

Been here a few times , its a good sized British pub in South Ajax, serving a combination of British pub food and roadhouse food and a very good selection of Beers. I enjoyed something totally different, Chicken wrapped with Bacon ,ranch, and peppers. It was delicious and spicy. They also have a front patio. Enjoy the Wi-Fi.

This place fell off the chef burger used to b made with love time and effort. It was my number one place to go 2 years ago I changed my review from 5 to 1 star. What happened to the management and staff in that time? It destroyed the food. I actually couldnt finish my food the waiter was amazing but my patty was burned my bread stale and the toppings throw together all on one side of the burger. My first bit was just all onion until I opened the burger and separated the rings. Really? What happened? My partner ordered a steak with mashy and the mash wasnt mashed lumpy and flavorless... what happened!?

The food is amazing and they dont skimp on the portions at all. Alot of their food could easily be split between two people. My favorite is their Braised Beef Wild Mushroom Risotto - try it!

Solid pub, with lots of the expected pub fare. All the food is good, all the pints are cold. If youre not having a good time its probably you. The bar is doing what a bar does.

This restaurant is an absolute disaster. I was with a group of 15 and had to leave early. When I tried to cash out, I was shuffled from one clueless server to another, none of whom knew who my server was. I only had a beer and didnt tip on a $5 drink. The server rudely told me, the service was good, you should ve tipped. You did your job and brought me a drink, nothing more. Theres no reason to tip for such basic service. Treating customers like that is pure garbage.

It could have been because they were understaffed or that it was extremely busy with large parties, but the service was slower than I would have liked. Our waitress was very friendly and got the orders correct, the food was delicious and hot, and the atmosphere was loud, but fun. Under different circumstances, I would have given all five stars.

Attempted order online directly with the restaurant instead of skip the dishes and what a mistake it was. Last night at 5:33pm (on Canada Day) I called to order two Butter Chicken Dinners; the person whom answered was very uninformed. I had to prompt them by asking are you going to take my phone number or address due to it being delivery? She would say yes then put me on hold. After a few times of this I told her I would just order online instead as I didnt really trust I was going to get my food. I placed my online order of two identical meals at 5:45pm (with a email saying 45 minutes delivery time). At exactly 6:30pm I got a call from the chef confirming our order, EXACTLY 45 minutes when our meal was supposed to be at our door. When our meal still wasnt here at 6:51pm I called the restaurant - I was passed around to a few managers whom eventually said because they use a third party delivery service that was the reason it was delayed, which simply wasnt true and was poor customer service as our food wasnt even made by the delivery time. For corrections they only offered to give me a $25 future credit for in store use only, no cost correction for the meal or extremely poor service- and when I said that I havent even received our food yet and that it wasnt a correction for THIS meal they eventually said they could only give me the $8 delivery fee back as thats what the drivers carries (which the delivery driver did at the door). Our food was finally delivered at 7:18pm. (Total delivery time 1.5 hours) and the $8 delivery fee was returned. I still have not received an email or anything tangible for my $25 future credit which wasnt really worth it anyways. Food was decent but I wouldnt go through this again. I chose to order directly instead of going through skip the dishes for a better cost and more to go to the restaurant. What a mistake.

Came for a soccer game and didn t expect to find a seat. However, we received a table right next to the big screen. Food was great and our server Elizabeth was amazing.

DOUBLE CHECK YOUR TIP AMOUNT! First off food was very good however service was brutal. Long story short we were ignored for long stretches of time on multiple occasions. When bill came we planned to tip accordingly. I manually selected select % tip and planned to leave only 5% to send a message. Checked my reciept next day and realized I was charged 18% instead. Very underhanded manner of doing business. Not impressed! Update 6/22. Food still good,service still slow Update. 7/24. Food quality declining agreed upon by 5 of us all having different items. Theyre certainly not as busy as they used to be. Sadly they may have jumped the shark

My career was food and beverage (sports bars and pubs) and I must say WELL DONE! From the HI THERE when I walked in I knew the service would be spot on and it sure was, thank you Sarah! Was lunch time, busy and the food was promptly delivered and presented as hoped. Music was was at the perfect level! Next time I will be out on the lovely patio! Cudos to Sarah for giving us a fun experience! Mississauga would welcome a Portly Piper if you have plans to expand!

Way over rated. Food is suppose to be good anywhere food is served. Loud, crowd and not a friendly fun vibe. Lots of better choices out there.

We came in pretty late last night as a big group of 8 including a baby. Even though it was a busy night with an almost full restaurant , we had such a great experience with amazing food. Everyone ordered something different but everything was served and tasted perfect. There is a great team running this place. All the servers were friendly and efficient. We will be back soon.
