Amiirtham South Indian Restaurant in Ajax

They use old oil. Both the time we bought, the food was extremely oily and ended up vomiting. Second time I even mentioned to reduce oil. But it was equally bad.

Ordered mutton Biriyani stating less oil. End up having lot more oil than the previous time. I think they use old oil. Nauseated after having it. I dont recommend this place

Good place, good food service could be better. Eat here frequently and prices although normal they can climb up quickly. The quality of food seems fresh although parotta seems to be cooked in batches and you could get it fresh or something from morning. My go to items are mutton Salna wont parotta as this seems to be reasonable and also omelette. Id recommend these items. Their other items like fried rice and chukka mutton are also good..but if youre into South indian spices.

This South East Asian/Indian food is absolutely fantastic. My husband and I really enjoy new food experiences. This restaurant and its authentic and unique flavors is really worth taking your time to try. We have been back several times to try new dishes. Just WOW. Go get some of their food! Very tasty food and very well served by Vigneshwari. We took kids meal and she replaced rose milk (cold) with hot badam milk on her own knowing my 7 year old had cold. Vegetarian options: Masala Dosa and Idli.

I really wanted to like this place, but the meal was a huge disappointment for the price. The food just didn t taste like it was worth the money at all.The portion sizes were tiny, and I left still hungry, both in terms of food and value for money. There are so many better options in the area that offer much better meals for half the price. And also the drinks are very disappointing the whole food ( rose milk, nannaari )This place is seriously overpriced, and I won t be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else where the food actually justifies the cost.

This has become our favourite place now. We have tried, gobi 65, chicken 65, chicken and mutton biryani, parotta salna, egg omelette. Each and every dish has exceeded expectations. Staff are pleasant, courteous. Only wish it were closer to Oshawa.

Wanted to try this place in spite of bad reviews from a few friends. Had low expectations and ordered chicken chettinad with parotta. Was surprised about how authentic it tasted. Very good place for non veg items. The wife had ordered parotta with veg gravy. She was happy too. There s a promotion going on for kids menu where if the bill is above $15, kids menu is free. We got this small note on the pkt, we ordered Dosa. This note surely brings a smile in our faces as well as the food. This one located in Ajax. We just love their food.

We went for a family dinner for South Indian food craving and ordered mulligatawny soup, masala dosa, vada sambhar and Chilli Uttapam. The food was below the standard expectations. The aloo stuffing inside dosa was sour, uttapam was uncooked and mushy and service was unprofessional and sloppy. It was a disaster and we had to finally go to another restaurant . I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

In last so many years the worst experience for any restaurant I ever had. Authenticity is far away. Starting with serving plates, they gave us dirty plates twice and we had to mention it to change it. Not even apologized. Starting with appetizer chilli chicken which was the only item that we liked. We ordered two plain dosas, masala dosa, mysore masala, mango lassi. Dosas were served on time . Sambar was literally water . I asked the server she said oh some server says its thick some says its thin and fumbled no right answer . It was tasteless. Totally water. Then talking about masala and mysore masala , dosa was ok but the filling inside had no salt . Tasteless again . The worst mysore masala dosa I had. Cherry on the top. Mango lassi came at the last , we ordered two , one came and then for second was they said will take a few minutes. And I saw the girl who was making behind the counter who was serving as well, we saw her tasting the shake. We asked them to cancel the order for it right away. Again no sorry no apologizing. It was a special occasion for us. They ruined our day , money , time and specially the experience. Not even as a courtesy mentioned that its their fault or accepted what happened. After spending around $100, I had worst experience.

Food was subpar. Something that you would make fun of on tik tok. Sambar was cold and nothing but water. Took them 30 mins to make 2 drinks and brought them when we were done with the food. The restaurant wasnt even busy and the hygiene was absolute worse and music was loud.

I am from Michigan and had the pleasure of trying the **Khizi Parota** at Amiirtham South Indian Restaurant, and it was an absolute delight! The parota was perfectly flaky and packed in banana leaves, with a rich buttery aroma and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I highly recommend Amiirtham to anyone looking for an unforgettable South Indian dining experience! Expensive but worth ashot again and again!!

While they seem to be one of the busiest restaurants in the GTA, somehow collecting over 400 reviews in just a few months, it was not busy when I visited. There were two other tables plus my party of 3. Two of our meals arrived and then the third we waited 15 more minutes for it to come. By then, we had finished our meals so he had his packed up to go. To be fair, it didn t take us long to finish since we couldn t eat three quarters of it. The rice was like Uncle Ben s par-boiled rice and the food was bland and tasteless. Terrible meal. Waste of time and money. I would not recommend this place.

We ordered onion chilli rava dosa..super thick dosa..can t call it dosa. It was full of whole black peppers, like we had alteast 4 black peppers in each bite. We did ask about thickness of rava dosa and the answer was here we make it like that!!!! The server was ready with bill at our table before even we finished the food.

The newly opened place has great staff and a good atmosphere but the food is not that great. I tried a couple of times and the taste is consistently bad. The worst part is that some foods like bajji were not cooked fully and biriyani was over cooked. I hope they do something about the food and improve the taste which can make it a big success especially when there are tastier competitors in Durham region.

The Medu Vadai was uncooked in the centre. The staff relaced it with another set of Vadai and it was uncooked too. We got a refund, but the overall experience was bad. Edit after reply from restaurant. 2 of us came on diwali night and had Chicken dum biriyani, Mutton leg soup, Poori Masala and Medu vadai. the vadai was returned twice due to which it was not in our reciept. I dont have the bill But i can show you my transaction history from bank app. Please don t blindly accuse of someone of lying. I have nothing against your restaurant. Try to improve if possible.

The place is beautiful, the music lovely, the servers are very kind, and the food was great! We had a veggie and a meat thali, and my toddler enjoyed her cheese dosa meal. The thali has a lot of variety! I think the spinach curry included in it was my favorite! Vegetarian options: Delicious ones! One of my friends told me about Amirtham Restaurant, as it name sounds the taste of food was amirtham. We had dum biriyani full, kizhi parotta and cold drink. The quantity is enough for 4 member (2kids) and tastes more like south Indian cuisine. And they have offers in weekdays too. The kids enjoy the place too because of various food options. Its gives us sense of home when we go there.

The signature use of seeraga samba rice gave the biryani a distinctive texture and flavor, setting it apart from any other biryani Ive tried.

Chicken Fried Rice I had recently was a fantastic and satisfying dish, bursting with flavor! Each spoonful was packed with perfectly cooked, fragrant rice that was lightly seasoned and tossed with a delicious mix of tender, juicy chicken pieces and fresh vegetables. The balance of textures was spot on, with the crunch of carrots, spring onions, and bell peppers complementing the soft, savory rice.

It was our first time visiting Amiirtham, a nice clean, and cozy place. We had the medu vadai, which was ok though I felt there were a few too many black peppers in it. My wife and I ordered the mutton thali and chicken thali, which were both a hit! The portions were huge, and everything was delicious. Highly recommended we ll definitely come back!

Ordered Dosa, Idli and Chicken 65. The Dosa and Idli was good but the Chicken 65 was not that good left me very much disappointed. If I happen to go back will never ever order Chicken 65. The server and service was excellent.

We ordered a take out and it was third time as we liked the first two times. But food was horrible this time. We ordered indo Chinese veg noodles and fried rice and all we got was just plain noodles and plain soggy rice with pepper and oil. No vegetables of any sort. Lot of oil. The Gobi 65 was also terrible. Never ordering from them again.

Normally drive into Scarborough for south Indian food. Tried Amiirtham as a closer option and it was a great choice. The dosas very tasty, as were the chutneys and sambar. Mutton chukka was good and spicy. Open, airy clean space for dine in. Friendly staff and great service as well.

We randomly dropped by not knowing what to expect on a veg day, we were so pleasantly surprised. Priya was so helpful and kind. We ordered Veg biriyani and it was one of the best we have tried in Ajax. The food was good, the restaurant was clean 100% would recommend.

Their Dindugal Chicken Briyani ( Seeragasamba), Killi Parotta ( Chicken), Ghee Roast, Parotta With Veg Korma and Filter Coffee are my favorite. I am trying different items every time I go. Outstanding Food and Flavors! We had an amazing dining experience at Amiirtham! The food was exceptional, starting with the veg thali which was not only delicious but also generous in quantity. Each item has its own distinct aroma and taste and the highlight was definitely the vendakkai (okra) kara kuzhambu perfectly spiced, tangy and yummy!! The onion chilli rava dosa was another standout, crispy and flavorful and packed with the just right amount of heat - exactly the way it should be. The veg biriyani was delicious too, perfectly cooked, fragrant rice and mouth-wateringly good. Spice level was good for everyone to enjoy! The service was quick, and the staff was very courteous and attentive!. Overall, everything was spot on. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving bold, delicious flavours!

Ordered Dindugal mutton biriyani, Chicken biryani, Mutton chukka and kids meal Mutton biriyani and chicken biriyani with their kuruma was ultimate. Mutton chukka - mild spicy feels good taste Kids meal - my son enjoyed it.otherwise overall a good experience..

So glad to have finally found the best dindugal biryani in Durham. I have always craved for South Indian food and Amiirtham is the only place that did not disappoint me both in taste and cost. Amazing taste, spice levels were perfect for kids. Chicken Kizhi Parotta was too good. Definitely will be a repeat customer.

Decent ambience but excellent staff behavior. Must visit for non veg lovers. Mutton nalli is the best i have seen so far. And fair pricing...

I decided to give this place a second chance, hoping the service had improved since my last visit, but unfortunately, it was still disappointing. Despite being seated promptly, we waited a full 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. When we finally managed to get the attention of an attendant, she rudely responded that we just came in, which was completely unprofessional. It s clear the staff lacks basic customer service skills, and the entire team could benefit from some serious training. I was hoping for a better experience the second time around, but it seems like poor service is the norm here. I won t be returning.

We went back based on our last visit and took 2 new people. The food quality went down the hill this time. The mutton killi Parota was really good the last 2 visists and this time it has no taste, flavor and looked like mutton cooked in boiled water with no salt or spices and even looked disgusting. The chicken gravy was litterly watered down as if they just served the water they washed the pot with. The decent item this time was the rava dosa which still tasted good but it wasnt anywhere close to what we had last time. When we returned the item to kitchen the cook apparently told its their standard and they follow the same all the time. I been there 4 times so far and this is not true. Not taking customers feedback seriously is why Im changing my review. Very disappointing experience. The service and their staff are still great. I wish they can be consistent with their food quality, taste and take customers inputs seriously...

Food quality is best but when I ask some food order they say out of order at 3pm I don t how and service was very slow and wait too long to get order and place order it s really make customer bad experience.

Very much disappointed with the food quantity which is worth 28 dollars. Not sufficient for 2. Very small pieces and a big chunk piece of bone was found. Very much unsatisfied. Not worth the price.
