Good Pho You in Ajax

Great little spot in a strip plaza. Best pho in Ajax. Meat was a little dry...but broth was gold.

I was running some errands in Ajax and decided to stop really quickly for lunch. Rare beef pho was phenomenal. Broth was well balanced and meat was fresh. Ratio of noodles to beef to broth was perfect. Got the grilled pork fresh rolls were also great, I usually get shrimp but getting the pork this time around was the right move. The viet iced coffee with condensed milk is amazing. I make it a point to try it at every pho place and this place is probably now one of my favourites. ** no pictures cause the food slapped so hard I forgot

The Pho here is truly phenomenal. The standard broth is delicious, and they have multiple extra sauces/additives to choose from. Their portion sizes are also substantially better than any of the other shops Ive frequented. They dont skimp on the meat and noodles!

Super Duper Pho!

I ve been going to this place ever since it opened several years ago and I can only say the food has gotten only better. The owner is a rare talent in the food industry and he s made me a customer for life through the continuous improvement of his craft. I will not eat Pho anywhere else.

I have ordered this off skip and it was amazing then and even better in person. A great option for people with gluten allergies as they have tons of options.

The Banh Mi sandwiches here are mouth watering. The bread is fresh, the meat is tender and the toppings are nice and crunchy with a zing. My family is addicted.

i have to give credit where credit is due and Good PHO U definitely lives up to its name. i live in peterborough and any time im in ajax i will go out of my way to get takeout or dine in before i leave town and i %100 regret it when i cant make it their chicken satay with veggies is bussssssin and its $20 for a medium but it fills you right up

It stands with its name GOOD PHO YOU. The service is great, cashier lady makes you feel you are eating at home.. ambiance is not a 5 star restaurant but have the feel of you are actually eating cooked at home meals pulls it off.

I recently got my wisdom teeth removed but the chicken in the grilled chicken vermicelli was so tender that I could still enjoy my meal. My friend got the house special pho and said the soup was very flavourful and delicious. Service was wonderful. 10/10 will come back next time Im back in Ajax.

I love this place, which is why Im so so sad to post this review. They were not only offering the best curry broth pho in the GTA, but probably that Ive ever had. Perfectly located near me in Ajax. I didnt ever get any other kind of pho in the 1 year+ Ive been there. Sent all my friends, family, and colleagues to try it, who also loved it. Found out that theyve discontinued it, and Im devastated. Where will I get my curry broth pho fix now? The withdrawal is real!

We were travelling from Montreal to make our way to Toronto and found the only pho place close to us for lunch. Gave this place a shot. Decent selection from the menu and had a whole vegetarian menu for my grandma. We got the 2 pho house special(medium and large) , 1 pho beef ball only , bun bo hue vegetarian and 1 grilled checked vermicelli. We also order the crispy chicken wings but the picture was completely different on the menu then in person. It was very sauce and not crispy at all like the photo online. The portions are very big! One of our go to spots! Food and service are always top notch. You can call ahead for take out. For dine in, would recommend calling in ahead of time to reserve a table. Parking is free, but it can be difficult to find a spot close to the entrance during prime dinner hours.

One of the best Pho s I have ever had. I got the grilled beef pho, very spicy. And my partner got the oxtail w/flank pho. Both were very delicious. Amazing service. Very quick, attentive. I have eaten as this place before, the food was great so I decided to return after a few months. After this experience I will never return. When I went to pick up my order the women at the cash was very blunt and rude. Took my meal home as take out. The grilled chicken pho was rubbery and potentially undercooked which made physcially ill. The beef bal pho texture was extremely off-putting and the cinnamon in the broth was very overpowering. Overall a terrible experience and would not recommend going. I wish I could get my money back.

Went there today and had the Grilled Chicken Pho... it should come with a warning, I think I got a whole chicken in there! It was SO delicious, and the medium size was enough for 2 meals! Have been here a few times before, staff are always super friendly, food is always delicious (also I recommend the Banh mi).

Wow, their pho broth is deeeelicious! This restaurant is filled with patrons at every table and the take out orders are constantly ringing in. Their food here is tasty! I ordered the grilled beef and pork plate with a side of pho broth. So so good! So good in fact I also ordered take out to bring home! Their Bahn mi is fresh and flavourful and soups are soo tasty!! This is the best Tofu Bahn Mi ive ever had! They accept cash or debit only. But give you 10% off if you pay cash!

A friend recommended that it tastes good. I went there for the first time today at noon. I ordered a wonton noodles, a beef rice noodle, a beef noodle, a chicken chop rice and chicken wings. Three of us went there, and one of the family members ate it. I had a bowl of beef rice noodles and thought it tasted strange. I thought I was not used to the taste of this restaurant. But I started vomiting half an hour after I finished eating and got into the car. I vomited two or three times in one afternoon.

We found this place on Google, gave it a try and we were not dissapointed excellent service, good portions, recommended even if you have to wait for a table, the place is small. We had a the pork sandwich and beef pho both yummy!!

Had the House Pho with Bun Bo Hue broth and it was fantastic! Also had the Bahn Mi with the sausage which was also a winner. Service was great, they were very warm and friendly and food came quickly. Definitely my go-to spot for Pho in Durham.

Pleasant experience

Extremely rude owner. They dont take dine in if you reach at 8:30 exactly. Today we reached 8:19, still they didnt take us. Everytime there is something or the other excuse.

First time ordering from here and it was so good! I tried the lemongrass chicken and the fresh rolls with the iced coffee - i enjoyed every bit of it! Will definitely be coming back again.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience here. We ordered fresh shrimp rolls, seafood pho and pork/egg rice plate they were all amazing. Everything was just perfect. The people that work here are so incredible and kind. You can feel nothing but good vibes and love just from interacting with them. They are so attentive and humble. After a stressful week coming here made me feel a million times better. Amazing people that serve amazing food. I am so happy I came here and so is my boyfriend. It is a must try. Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant recently. Came in for a quick dinner and was pleased to see vegetarian and even vegan options on the menu. Service was fantastic - we couldnt finish everything we ordered and the waitress offered to help by packing my leftovers into takeout containers. She accidently dropped one of the containers, was completely apologetic and asked the kitchen to make up a whole new complimentary dish for me to take home. First class customer service. Would definitely recommend and will return again.

Ordered the vegan pho, chicken Bahn mi, beef vermicelli and fried spring rolls. All were delicious. No bad price to go along with it. When picking up the food I asked for my receipt as it is for a work staff lunch. At first the cashier said she couldnt print it out for me, which made me a bit angry. But then a different lady caught me outside and said she could figure out how to print it out for me. I really appreciate her doing that. It should have been something easy to do in the first place, but the restaurant redeemed itself with that ladys customer service. So overall great experience and my coworkers and I enjoyed the food.

This dining place is clean and well kept. We ordered spiring rolls and shrimp rolls wrapped in white paper and they were so good even the peanut sauce. We had rare beef and vermicelli soup which is so tasty. The ingredients especially the veggies were fresh. The grilled meats tasted delicious too. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The grilled chicken Banh Mi was pretty good, but Ive had better at other restaurants in the GTA. However, Id go here again to dine in as the main dishes seemed really tasty. Service and atmosphere seemed decent while I was waiting on my sandwich.

I don t impressed this restaurant at all and will not visit again. I never seen a server grabbed the food (cucumber pieces) without washing her hands after using her phone. At least she needs to use a tongs or gloves to touch the food if she doesn t have time to wash her hands after touching her cellphone.

The best Pho Ive ever eaten. Always fresh, hot and quick. Just amazing. Suggest giving the Vietnamese sausage a try as well & Bahn Mi :) A staple and regular for us. Never once had a bad experience. Seriously - ignore the bad reviews. People are absoutely ridiclious. Its friggen AMAZING

My wife and I came in for lunch today and the first thing we noticed was the friendly staff. They were the right balance of humour and professional. We felt very welcomed, and received assistance in ordering as well. Food was fantastic! We already cant wait to come back and try the Bánh mì next time. We have a new go-to pho place!

Great Pho and spring rolls and friendly staff.

I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, especially their lemongrass tofu rice. The fried shrimp roll is also a must-try. My husband is a fan of their pho; however, we find that the soup base tends to be on the lighter side in terms of flavor. The only issue weve encountered is the wait time for our food, which can be a bit too long. Sometimes it takes more than 30 minutes. Aside from this, everything else is great.

The service is attentive, but unfortunately the food feankly speaking is just average. The pho broth taste more like light water. There are not many Pho restaurants in Ajax, so I would consider this restaurant a pass.

The pho soup does taste like it has MSG, the brisket was a bit tough could be cooked longer, rare beef, tripe, & flank were nicely prepared. The pork on vermicelli was seasoned and cooked well. Veg served with both dishes were fresh and washed. Spring and fresh rolls were nice. Doesn t replace pho from the city but better than others I ve tried in Durham region.

House Special Pho Noodle Soup taste great and the portion was very generous with lots of beef. Price Is very reasonable. Service was great. Atmosphere was ok and clean. Lots of parking! This place made me realize how much I miss Pho Giato. Had the house special. Broth was very light and didn t seem hot enough. I swear I don t have COVID right now. But the broth was so bland. Even adding the hoisin and the glow in the dark sriracha couldn t save it. Watched a couple of regulars bust out their own soy sauce. Lol Good/great pho does not need any extra seasoning, even hoisin. My tripe wasn t prepared enough and the beef was tough. Really disappointed in the pho. But I guess it s to cater to all the locals in the area. The vermicelli bowl on the other hand was pretty good. I ve had the Bhan mi and it s decent. But don t expect Bhan Mi Boyz type of Bhan mi. The grilled beef/chicken on either of these are great. Service was ok. Could have been better. Like when I order an appetizer, I d like the appetizer first and not last after I ve eaten my main. I m assuming the owner is running the til. She s pretty sassy. Needs to chill out. Nothing special about this place. But there aren t many good options in ajax. Again, I miss pho giato.

Attention to customer care was poor, I ordered a Vegetarian special meal and asked previously about pricing and sizes as I was on a budget, they said the prices were different not understanding my question. When I ordered I stated small and confused instead of clarifying she placed my order. I revived the one size priced higher than I wanted. Not only that but I found a few very small pieces of beef in my vegetarian meal . More care should have been put into questions such as, did you mean this? Or are you vegetarian? Unimpressed. Vegetarian options: More care should be put towards customers who cannot eat meat, quite disrespectful

My husband and I love this place and are weekly regulars (no judgement please ). It s a small, maybe 30 seater, restaurant but bright, fast service and consistent quality. The portions are great and I can t say enough about the flavours. The Pho broth is one of the tastiest I have had. We typically call in advance to order for take out as orders take about 20 minutes to pull together even without being super busy. Our go-to order is a large grilled chicken pho and and grilled chicken/beef platter with a fried egg. We have also tried oxtail and rare beef pho. Their fish sauce chicken wings are also super tasty! We ordered pho: the house special and the tripe with rare beef. Both bowls were very good but the broth was abit too fatty - their broth is south vietnamese style. The size is large and it is QUITE LARGE. Bigger than a large in toronto and gta. Generous amount of noodles and protein. There could have been more tripe and less beef but its a minor observation on my part. We did not completely finish our bowls cause there was alot of noodles and protein. This pho restaurant will be our post casino pho getaway, whether we have a good or bad day at the craps table. Great place in Ajax !!!

They charge $1 for the extra chili oil and more $$ for the extra broth that comes with the rice meal. Server was unaccomodating. No good pho you.

I called in and ordered the grilled chicken banh mi for takeout during my lunch break. The service was really fast and the lady taking my order over the phone was so sweet. The meat was perfectly grilled, really flavourful and juicy. There was a slight sweetness to it without it being too sweet. There was also a lot of meat in the sandwich considering it was less than $10. The bread was fresh with a nice crunch and the pickled veggies added satisfying acidity that balanced the sandwich really well. It was very filling without being too heavy. Make sure to bring cash so you can save 10%! I ll definitely be visiting again!

My family and I had ordered the large chicken phos with grilled beef. It was exceedingly flourish and tasty, but I would call the medium next time. I would order next time because I wouldnt say I like being watched when eating, but the pho was 100% perfect thanks, chef :)

I popped in today because I was craving Pho and new to the durham area. Off the bat I was greeted very warmly. The ladies there are really kind, personable and welcoming. I ordered a #1 House Special and fried spring rolls. Quick service, Yummy food, and I will come back again.

Mediocre food and service could be better. One persons order was wrong, 2/4 pho dishes were not hot enough so the meet was not cooking. Vegan bun soup was not very good.

The place is small, not a lot of seating and was said to be one of the better and more authentic places in Durham. One person in our party of three specified that they had a peanut allergy and peanuts were still sprinkled in the food. Overall the food was alright, and service was mediocre. We nearly had a serious health scare because of this incident and most likely would not return again.

Amazing Pho in Ajax! There arent many good Vietnamese restaurants in Durham, so Im glad I stumbled across this place. The restaurant is very small so it fills up fast but thats a good thing as the food and service is excellent. The pho broth, noodles, and toppings are all delicious and fresh. The spring rolls are tasty as well. The prices are a bit high for this area but its well worth it. This place is a must visit! Parking: Plaza gets busy so parking can be a challenge. Ordered food from here a few times. It s one of the best Vietnamese places I ve tried in the GTA. It s so good and the portions are huge. The grilled chicken are thick pieces. I ordered the vermicelli with chicken and sausage for lunch takeout once. When I picked up the bag I was shocked how heavy it felt. I was full for the rest of the afternoon which is rare for me. Another time I ordered the grilled chicken with rice and fried egg. I looked under the piece of grilled chicken and there was another piece. It took up half the container. I don t know about dinner hours but if you plan to go for dine-in lunch go early because it s a small place and the tables fill up. I highly recommend Good Pho You if you re looking for authentic Vietnamese flavour and good value.

Good Pho You is a cozy place where you can enjoy a good meal with good company. We had one the beef pho soup and one vegetarian pho soup (spicy). The beef pho was VERY good. The broth is rich yet still clean and light. The noodles were tastier than other pho places in the area. For the spicy vegetarian pho, the tofu was YUM-MY! Broth was delissssh. The only thing I would change (and this is just my personal preference) is that the noodles would be the same as the beef soups where the noodles are the flat rice noodles AND that the vegetarian soup could come in size small like the other soups. We also had an appetizer. We had the fish sauce wings. OMG, they were so good! I ate at least half of the dozen wings, lol. The staff was very nice, attentive, and considerate. One of the pho accidentally had the wrong broth, and the waiter told us about it immediately. They told us they would make a new soup, but swe said it was okay and they gave us a discount to make up for it as well as give us a smaller bowl of what the correct broth was to add to the soup. Went here for the first time as our go-to pho place was closed. I give it a star for having a fresh pho broth. Another star because the server was not only kind, but was also entertaining and helpful with the menu. The last 3 stars because even if it was fully packed during lunch time, it didnt feel like they were rushing customers, nor did the service falter.

Their rice paper rolls are delicious! There were some menu items that were not available, but we enjoyed the items we were able to order. The place got super busy so go at off times so you wont have to wait

November 29, 2023 around 6:30pm was the first visit to Good Pho You. Modern design, flooring & layout of restaurant. Very clean and open establishment. Ordered medium sized beef flank pho. Piping hot when it came out and multiple layers of flavor in the broth and meat. Very enjoyable & will return. Great service upon entering and welcoming. It took a while to get the bill however understandable as there were multiple take out orders under preparation.

Wow wow wow. Im lucky the other place was close . Lucky to stumble upto this shop. The food is simple yet packed with flavors. I order the pho special, spring roll, cold roll .. it was all good. Place was small but non stop customers . Staff were kind and food came in good timing . Sorry not able to take photos . As was busy snacking lol Dec7,2023 --- came back for my birthday celebration. Food was still very good prices have definitely went higher large is 17.99 what was surprising was we added extra noodle for both our noodle for $4 for each bowl ..the bowl was full of noodle. But there was no more soup .they wanna charge extra for $1.50 for a small bowl . I think this is a turn off . Where u already paid $25 bucks for a bowl of noodle soup . With no soup . They need to rethink how its been charged.

Delicious! Service was quick and staff were very friendly. Our pho was served piping hot and we were impressed by the amount of beef in the soup. We will be back!

I got the Chicken pho takeout. Portion is huge and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Disgusting business. My boyfriend and I just had a really humiliating experience at this spot today. We were really excited to try their food for the first time, but left within 5 minutes of sitting down because we were yelled at by the woman behind the counter in front of the entire restaurant. I am also a server in the restaurant industry and would never speak to a guest the way she did to us. The man who greeted us at the door told us to sit down at the only empty table, while he went to go clean it. However, as soon as we sat down, the woman behind the counter yelled at us in an extremely hostile way to get up so he can clean the table. Why say it in that way? Especially after he told us we could sit down? I was so excited to try the food after the amazing reviews. We love to support local businesses regularly, and have plenty of friends and family in the area who love to do the same. They will never be getting business from us or our circle. DO NOT SUPPORT.

The people there are really nice! But this is the worst pho Ive ever had. Idk what all these reviews are talking about. I can only speak to the pork spring rolls and rare beef & tripe pho. Its overpriced for what it is. The springroll and pho lack flavour. The broth is just slightly flavoured water. I rather travel a little further east and get something thats hits the spot

Have only gotten take out, but their pork bahn mi is delicious
