This place is terrible don t even bother trying it! From the moment my cousins & I walked in, the place was dead, not one employees in sight. We waited at the front for about 5 minutes, still no one greeted us so we decided to seat ourselves. We had to take a menu from the front so we could see what we wanted. Another 10 minutes later we were finally Introduced to our server. She was nice and informative but her words didn t match up with the quality of the food. All of our boils were funky and tasted spoiled, corn was hard & terrible. The shrimp tasted really fishy lacked flavour. The house sauce was horrendous, there was too much going on with it, it was all over the place. Only good thing we tried was the fish & chips, it was perfection. I don t know where they went so wrong with the boils but BEWARE! 2 of us ended up with severe food poisoning the following day. It s not worth it. 0/10

Had the fish and chips for lunch. It tasted amazing and had lots of flavour! The staff was also super friendly. Will definitely be coming back on a regular!!!

I saw your Live TikTok, and realized you were only a 10m drive away! I collected my sisters and decided to come check it out, and glad that we did! We had two boils, and enjoyed 2 mocktails as well. It was all delicious and the service was on point! I found the portion sizes and prices to be a great bang for your buck! Me and my sisters commented on the great music playing as well! It was my first order on this date, 20/12/2024, and the receptionist was super kind and helped me with it. Her service was excellent, and the food exceeded my exception.

As reported by many, the Lobster Roll ws delicious! Calamari was also Heavenly. It was all gone too quickly before we remembered to take a picture. I will definitely be back for more seafood goodness. Came back with my family and yet again, our experience was wonderful. Decided to come for a weekday dinner and it did not disappoint. We ordered calamari and mozzarella sticks as an app before we enjoyed 1lb of Cajun Shrimp and Mussels, and a Lobster roll with fries. The service is always quick, courteous and attentive. We will continue to support this amazing family establishment.

I have to be honest, I was a bit disappointed after seeing all the rave reviews on social media. Maybe we visited on an off day, but the food was just okay. My mother and I started with the calamari, which was a decent portion, and then ordered the $77 Crab & Lobster dish with mussels and shrimp, expecting garlic butter, but it wasn t. Instead, it felt like they used margarine rather than real butter. The house sauce, however, was much better, and we were glad we ordered it on the side. The seafood, for some reason, tasted watered down, which was strange. While the presentation was nice, the overall flavour didn t quite live up to expectations. The mussels were smaller than I ve seen at other places, which was a letdown. The corn and potatoes were bland and watery, and the rice was only decent when paired with the house sauce. My mother was also hoping to get scallops, but unfortunately, they weren t available just the usual seafood items that you d find at many places with different names. Would I make the trip from downtown Toronto to Ajax for this again? Highly unlikely. While the service was good and the ambiance was pleasant, I don t think it s worth the price or the drive. Overall, I left feeling pretty disappointed.

Been there 3 times already. Each time, it was amazing except for the last visit when the sea salt flavor was a bit too salty. but I am sure it was an one off experience as the other two times it was perfect.

Me and my friend dined in here late on a Thursday evening about an hour before their closing time. We ordered the snow crab boil, dynamite shrimp, chicken tenders & fries, and sausages. I was very happy to know their meat was halal. The service was amazing, our server was very patient and welcoming. I have gone to Captains boil before this and I liked the boil here way better. It was the perfect flavour and was not fishy at all. We LOVED the dynamite shrimp too. The only downfall was that it was in a weird loctaion, at a GO station parking. Other than that I definitely want to return and try their lobster roll and even dessert!

The prices were reasonable and portion sizes were extremely large. We had the 1lb shrimp boil bucket----- easily feeds 3 adults. Absolutely would visit again The only reason I didnt do 5 stars is because theres always room for improvement.

I just had lunch with my wife on her birthday. We shared a 1lb snow crab bucket. It was incredible!! We chose the hot sea salt sauce and London fog teas. The flavors were perfect and everything tasted great. We will definitely be back! The menu seemed to have options for kids and we look forward to bringing them next time

The staff is amazing, the food is outstanding, and I encourage everyone I know to come here. You can t go wrong with anything you order here. We had a wonderful experience visiting this restaurant. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and friendly, and they made sure we had an excellent experience from the moment we walked in and left. I was told when i reserved that there is something given for free for a birthday celebration but b4 we leave and asked for it, we waited for 10min but still confirmed the second time if we can wait for it so we just left.

We love this place! We used to go to captains boil at the beginning however that restaurant chain has changed so much from the experience and pricing it used to be. This place offers a similar experience, however served on a plate rather than a plastic bag end offers for more value for your dollar offering things like king crab and lobster boil combos for under $80. Weve always enjoyed here and will continue to come back! Highly recommended!

Food was great, we had a boil at it was delicious! We did agree that the food was more Asian influenced than the traditional seafood boil. We had the beignets for dessert, and they were amazing. The server even did a candle in it for my husbands birthday! The atmosphere is modern and very open. Parking: It is a shared parking lot with the GO station so parking can be difficult to find depending on the time of day youre going. Kid-friendliness: There are kid friendly options here, like chicken fingers and fries as well as tacos. Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible.

Got the boil and the mussels were clearly frozen and pre cooked as they had a rubbery texture and had zero flavour whatsoever. The shrimp was fine but was sloppily cleaned as the top part was mangled and veins were still there despite an attempt to clean?? I would ve at least thought they would just buy pre cleaned shrimp if they were just buying grocery store seafood. The worst was easily the lobster itself which was also from frozen and probably pre cooked as it also had a rubbery texture and stuck to the shell. The boil spices didn t help either and you re better off making a better meal at home with fresh seafood. Not the worst, but easily one of the least recommended seafood restaurants. Probably the only place you can find in the area but you can find fresher and better seafood at better prices in many other places in the city.

As someone who is not a big seafood fan, I enjoyed the food here alot. I had lobster for the first time and it tasted amazing. The food was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was amazing and well definitely be coming back here!

I booked my mother s 55th birthday dinner at Sea Salt Seafood Cafe in advance for a party of 8 and even called ahead to make sure there would be two high chairs available for my kids. When we arrived, we were told by the hostess that their two high chairs were already in use. This was a huge disappointment, especially after I specifically requested one on the phone. The staff offered no solutions, and my entire family was left standing there with no alternative. We had to leave and go to Captains Boil instead. This level of service is unacceptable, and I will NEVER come back. Avoid Sea Salt Cafe if youre looking for reliable service and any sort of family accommodation. Extremely upset.

Extremely unreliable service and not family friendly. My wife called in to ensure we would be able to dine with our toddlers and confirm that when we book our reservations, high chairs would be included. The lady on the phone specifically confirmed YES no problem. Upon arrival for my mother in law s 55th birthday, the hostess said the 2 high chairs already in use. WHY LIE to your guests on the phone then?! My entire family wasted our time to go and get shut down. How does an establishment only have 2 high chairs?!? AVOID!

The service was fantastic! Everyone was so friendly and bright, we went with 2 kids but had a hustle free time as they provided the colouring pens. The seafood was great but the sauce was a bit too salty for me. Calamari was my favorite! If they had more variety of sauce (currently 2 kinds only), itd be better. I thought it was a different type of seafood restaurant but it was pretty much just a nicer version of Captains boil! But just for the services, wed definitely go back for a relaxing family time!

When we first arrived we were greeted and seated. The waitress was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The volume of chairs scraping across tiled floors and children screaming was unbearable. I could not hear the people I was seated with for dinner without yelling. The food is as described, but if youre unused to heavy seasoning or Eastern flavorings as described, lemon butter is a red sauce that does not have lemon or butter.

Dined in with my group of 6 and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere at the GO Station. We ordered separate items including the ultimate seafood boil which included lobster . This dish was good but was fairly small and can only serve one to two persons at $77. My main concern was the fish and chips dish which was very disappointing as the fish was similar to oven prepared box fish available at the supermarket. It did taste reheated and not fresh at all. This is not a suitable seafood restaurant and should definitely be removed from their menu. Service was good as it was a busy Thursday evening and staff was attentive. There was also only one crab cracker that had to be washed and shared by multiple tables. Abit improvement needed but overall not too bad.

I love grabbing my coffee before heading to the train from this place and usually get good service. Unfortunately not today. I went there today, waited 10 mins patiently as the server finished the order before mine, during which she asked what I wanted. Before placing my order I asked how long will it be as I have to catch a train. She said 5 mins. Then I showed her the drink I wanted on the menu, pointed at the picture and she confirmed it was Matcha, I said okay Ill get that. 10 mins later shes making my drink finally, to have made a completely different drink. My mistake I paid prior to getting my order. Never again. I asked her for a refund, she said sorry that will take long and proceeded to make my correct drink anyways, to which I said Im going to miss my train as its already been much longer that she said. If i hadnt paid, I would have left. And thanks to her I missed the train by mins. Her boss was there, hope he sees this. Next time, if a client asks for a refund, please provide it rather than completely ignoring the situation. If your one min, 5 mins is not true, then dont say it. Loved that place, eaten there many times, but unfortunately no more.

Food was good but everything comes in or with a spicy sauce. So hard luck if spice is not your thing. They dont even have mayo. This place is very confusing to me has kind of a upscale cafeteria vibe. Staff was friendly but not attentive. Made a reservation and one chair short. We asked several times for one. After maybe 20 minutes asked another table if we could take one. Again food was good but price definitely didnt match the vibe.

First time going here - on the menu it says bucket assuming in my head that I m getting a big bucket of seafood but when they bring it out it s a tray of seafood / I think that s very false marketing . My first time trying out a seafood boil, had the shrimp boil bucket which came with half pound shrimp in cajun butter sauce, corn, baby potatoes and steamed rice. We also had fish tacos. Both dishes were flavourful, quantity was adequate, decor was good, service was a bit slow for a weekday but not too bad. I would visit again if craving for some seafood. The turkish coffee was a bit too bitter for my taste. Vegetarian options: Not much - its a seafood restaurant.

Best seafood I have ever had before!!! The staff are the best. The cozy ambiance is unmatched. I would recommend everything!

Food was great. Took a little while because we came in as a group of 12 but very well seasoned and delicious. They give you bibs and gloves. It is very well portioned. I would definitely like if there was more seafood and less carbs on the big boil plates but that s just a personal preference. The place was very clean. Staff is nice. They provided good recommendations. Note if you re bringing a big group they do not split bills, just wish we were told that earlier. Parking: There is free parking right in front of the restaurant.

This was my first seafood boil experience and it was well worth the wait. The portions were perfect, and the flavour was incredible. We opted for medium heat and it was exactly that. I had also never had cronuts before and they were to DIE for. I also highly recommend trying to mango drink if you want something sweet. The server we had, Vee, took this from a good experience to a great one. Give that girl a raise please!!!

They were huge and offered great value for the price. The cafe s location is very convenient, being right behind the Ajax Go Train station, making it an easy stop for commuters. Additionally, the tables are reasonably large, and the wooden chairs are comfortable enough to sit on for long durations. Overall, I highly recommend Sea Salt Seafood Cafe and look forward to returning for another meal.

Guys this place is the bomb! Stumbled across it as we were in Pickering . The food is outstanding . Cooked perfectly not even one burnt calamari . The lobster roll was filled and the bread toasted with butter to perfection! Fries were so good . The Arabic ice cream soooo good . Please don t waste your time going to a different sea food restaurant! Try this one !!! Atmosphere is clean, modern and tastefully done . service was impressive! If this is far from you they have a sister restaurant at Yonge and steeles ( lobster boil) Almost the same menu !

Love the Lobster Roll. One of the best I have ever had! Kale salad, yum, sweet potato fries perfect, excellent lobster roll. Definitely going back. Desserts are great too. Seafood lovers need to try this place. Warning, lobster rolls often sell out before the end of the day. We did lunch. Spacious dining area. Enjoy!

Would recommend this place over and over again, especially getting V as your server. She was great attentive and friendly, great communicater and had great attention to detail. The food was great, i used to go to abother seafood place and the biggest problem was over cooking items, you dont have to worry about that here. Plus the pricing is reasonable, especially now a days.

The boil sauce was just missing something... I got the sea salt boil which is all of their different types of boils combined. Service was great but did left me underwhelmed.

First time trying this restaurant, and I was very impressed with the overall decor and vibe. Not huge, so it doesnt get too packed. Food was very reasonably priced and a decent amount per portion. My reason for 4 stars is the timing of service and accuracy of orders. There were two servers during our visit, and they really tried their best to manage all the customers as the restaurant filled up, but you could tell it was getting overwhelming. Order was incorrectly placed, but still enjoyed the meal. Also, prices in the menu for drinks were slightly different than our bill ($0.50 higher) but overall a great restaurant to visit if you love seafood.

Very bed service , we have guest from back home and family total 11, we orderded food and they serve main course first than starter even some items we ordered 3 they serve 2 and after we complain she said we have only one chef and now our kitchen close .. and after final bill 13%gst +18%service charge..and the girl talk very unprofessional way I never go back this restaurant again

This place is amazing! They have the BEST coffee in GTA. Also their food is very good and delicious. The server was kind, and the atmosphere was good too. Sometimes we visit to get the beverage only, but they greet us same as other customers. Definitely re-visit!

This was our first time visiting this Cafe and definitely won t be the last . My wife and I had lunch today and the food was fantastic! The portions were very generous and mouth watering delicious. Today We visited this place for some good seafood. We ordered fish and chips, dynamite shrimp, lobster roll and fish tacos. I loved the dynamite shrimp, its tasty and filling as per price. For All Other food items there were too much of fries and no other options to take salad or anything else. But I am not happy with the lobster roll. I can understand that lobster is costly but they didnt even give salad or any kind of veggies with the lobster roll. Also the roll bread should be bigger when the price is 26cad.its not worth the cost.

I visited Ajax to meet an old friend and dined there. I greatly enjoyed the food as well as the service Sea Salt Seafood Cafe offered. Anyone who drops by Ajax should consider eating there.

Ordered the fried shrimp and fries which was amazing and was served with 3 different sauces. Food was seasoned and flavored to perfection. Best fried shrimp Ive had in a long time. Upon entry the resturant is beautifully decorated and very clean. Washroom was nice and clean too. My server Veiniece hope I spelt her name right was wonderful and delivered great customer service.

Have dined in at Seasalt & also recently used their catering services for my daughter s first bday. I was super pleased at the recommendation to serve sandwiches (chicken, shrimp, and sausage) they were cut in perfect portions and were an absolute hit at the party. The chicken fingers and fries for the kids were gone in a second kids loved it! All super delicious!!! Great service and amazing food!

Incredible Food! I ordered through Uber so I didn t get to experience in house dining, however the food made up for that missing part. We got the lobster roll with a side kale salad, 1/2lb of fried shrimp and fries and everything is delicious!!! They gave us extra fries too! The lobster roll has meaty chunks of claw meat and the shrimp was cooked perfectly, not dried out, and even the Kale salad was perfectly seasoned just simple and delicious. The fries were still hot a crispy! Definitely coming back! I love supporting local businesses that are family owned and operated. It s like going to a friend or family s house for dinner

Sea Salt Seafood Cafe - Ajax Went here a month ago and cannot wait to return. The staff were so friendly and very quick with everything. Before we could get our coats off, they got waters for everyone and crayons for my little one. The food was absolutely delicious and I was pleased with the amount of food for the price. I had the half pound of shrimp which was more than enough for myself. We all had leftovers! We also got the homemade ice cream and beignets. Oh so yummy . Coffees were also yummy with dairy free milk options! The atmosphere is clean and spacious. An absolute hit with us!

The food was really good, however, the service wasnt. They may have been short staffed. Food took really long. Also, the Cajun sauce may need tweaking. It has too much of a seasoning in it ( rosemary?), which overpowers the taste of the food. I would still give this place a 2nd chance. Maybe try a different sauce.

We really liked the food, ambience and the service. We ordered fried calamari, fried shrimp and calamari, lobster roll and one pound of shrimp bowl. All tasted well. The quality of the food and the quantity are enough to come back again. Front desk girl knows how to treat the customers when they arrive. The reservation system working well and we were able to book two days ago and got the confirmation message as well. We will come back soon to try other dishes. Keep up the good work guys! We went there for our daughters birthday and they treated her like a princess! Mussel and shrimp boil fantastic, and probably the best sweet potato fries weve ever had. Vee, our server, was great. Thanks Vee!

This restaurant has some good qualities: fish is fresh, venue is nice and the cajun butter sauce is tasty HOWEVER the service was terrible. Once we got our food, they did not come back to our table at all, not even to refill our water. The worst part is that the food portion is incredibly small for amount paid. I got the half lobster bucket, got a tiny lobster tail (barely 10 bites), half a corn-on-the-cob and 3 baby potatoes. I was hungry afterwards but didnt want to spend more money here. My friend got the shrimp bucket and had no complaints. I am shocked how well-rated they are. I admire that they are a family-run business but its almost like highway robbery. Needless to say, I will not be returning back to this restaurant.

Very disappointed with the food taste and quantity compared to capital boil and red lobster. Online they are posting 5oz of each lobster tail and instore menu they have switched to 4oz. Size of mussels are big so they are only giving 4-5 pieces. Lobster and mussels had strong bad smell which indicates the quality of the food was not good. Their house special sauce was so bitter to be honest not good at all. They corn possibly was boiled in the morning left in the hot water though out the day was super soggy and potatos was ok bust you get only 2-3 little balls. Not a good experience at all and what a waste of my hard earned money.

We had the spicy and creamy lobster, crabs and shrimps with soft jasmine rice and finished off with he mango coconut elixir and hot matcha latte. It was amazing. Will be returning soon with friends but next time we will make a reservation.

They have plenty of options on their menu for all price points! The sea salt butter is to die for!! And bonus - they are family owned! 10/10 highly recommend! Not quite as described in menu but was okay. My friends food didnt come at all. When they finally brought it, they offered to comp either a dessert or a beverage.

Great food and excellent service. They accommodated us despite showing up 20mins before the restaurant closing time and kitchen was almost closed. They still served the food with the same enthusiasm and the food was great. Will definitely revisit the place for more seafood and appreciate their appreciable hospitality. Also, dont forget to try their Turkish ice cream. Its delicious.

We went for dinner and ordered Shrimp & Muscle bucket which was mouth watering and hit the spot, the fish tacos was also very tasty! We ended dinner with the Arabic ice cream and it s like nothing I ve had before. It was not too sweet but the perfect amount of dessert I needed. We also couldn t leave without trying a drink and the matcha latte did not disappoint! I will definitely coming back! It s a great spot for date or family dinners!

hi i recently came to try sea salt i ordered fish n chips was the best fish very tasty and so delicious and the fries very crispy with nice spice and they have perfected the batter was not oily its 5 stars and the service was very efficient and very freindly i must say the atmosphere i felt i was near a marina i usually dont have dessert i had arabic ice cream with pistachio was very tasty was perfect to a great meal cant wait to visit with all my family .

We went here on a whim when we saw an ad on Instagram and decided to try it. We were so pleasantly surprised! It can be so hard to find a place that makes good seafood, but this place is delicious! We split a Large Lobster Boil Bucket between the two of us and it was so, so good! The food came quickly, was hot, cooked beautifully (nothing was overcooked, which we find often happens with seafood), and tasted amazing. Though its a bit pricey, its absolutely worth it; you definitely get what you pay for here. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood!

I was skeptical about trying this place since Ive been to other, like restaurants. I was very pleasantly surprised. The seafood was of good quality and it was cooked perfectly! Everything ww had tasted great and was served quickly. We did sit a while before getting our bills, but other then that it was great. I will definitely go back again!

Had one pound of shrimp, tastes good and comes with rice and corn. Very reasonable price, 28 before tax. I think its too much food for one person, Ill recommend half pound of shrimp Food

If you are a seafood lover and looking for a halal place where no alcohol is used to prepare the food, then sea salt is a must try place. Taste is great, quantity is good and service is outstanding. The only advice is to wear the gowns and gloves they give you if you have ordered any bowl!

Extremely disappointed with my shrimp bucket. Preordered ahead of time that way I would only have to grab and go, for it not to be ready because the system never got my order. The food tasted rushed and the flavors didn t match up how it usually does, wasn t worth the wait or the time I wasted. Should ve gotten the refund when I spoke to the person there. Will not be going back.

First time customer who came in today for a family birthday reservation. The place wasn t busy but somehow the service was terrible! I ve never been to a restaurant where I had to ask to get my water refilled or search far and wide for a server to even take my order. The food itself was subpar and lacked flavour, waiting times were stupendously unreasonable. By the end of it we had to all get up to ask for our bill as employees stood around, one even getting into an argument with us after addressing our dissatisfaction in the service we had received. It s very likely I won t be coming back as I was given a distasteful first impression.

Has to be one of the best seafood places ever. The dynamite shrimp, fish tacos are everything. The in house sauce seasoned to perfection. We need one of these in the west end! Definitely recommend and coming back.

Took my sister here today as we were shopping in the area. She said she felt like eating seafood. It was deserted. It s Ramadan, so lunchtime is not busy. But we got a booth to ourselves which was comfy. I imagine it s busy in the evening. We ordered the shrimp roll and the fish tacos. I asked for the toppings to be put on the side of mine so I could figure out if anything was spicy which would bother my stomach. It took a short while for the food to come out. But we were quite hungry by the time we got our food. My fish tacos weren t bad at all. With my tummy issues, they did not cause any issues. But I don t feel like I will be craving them again soon. It was good enough to eat today though. I don t have any complaints. My sister on the other hand hit a burnt roll and the taste of the burn took away from the food. To their credit, once we mentioned it to them, they offered to either replace the roll or the whole dish. We opted for a new toasted roll as she was quite hungry. She said it was ok. With having lobster and shrimp rolls at other places, it didn t meet the mark. The good thing was that we enjoyed their regular fries and sweet potato fries quite a bit. The server didn t tell us it would be extra for the sweet potato fries but it was only $2, so we didn t mind. The service was ok as well. We did have to look for our server a couple of times to get what we needed. The restaurant was empty but we couldn t find her. Overall, it was good enough for today s meal but we won t be driving from Scarborough especially to get food here. I was hoping to bring my husband here for fish and chips, but he s picky and it might not meet his standards.

Normally i dont post reviews, especially negative ones but to have service so atrocious is mind boggling. Waiting 45 m for food is ridiculous. I left without a refund or so much as an apology or anything (or my food). This was disappointing to say the least. Oh and don t bother calling their phone doesn t work.

Went here recently for dinner with my cousins and family. We had an amazing time. The meals were similar to a thanksgiving dinner bc we were all stuffed and ready for a nap after eating lol. It was soooo good! I had the lobster roll it was fresh and delicious. I also had the 1/2 pound shrimp bucket it was so yummy with the house sauce, the sea salt . I definitely want to go back again and try the lobster with the house sauce again. Great portions. Great service. Tips are included if you dine in for a large group, so just be aware of that so you don t double tip. What I liked the best about this place was it is halal and the seafood is washed very clean. Not like some other boil places you go they barely wash the seafood and throw nasty seafood into a plastic bag with sauce lol .. I usually avoid the seafood boil places because of this. However I found my hidden gem in Ajax! I ll return soon.

Fantastic food! Better than Captains Boil. Try the sea salt blend sauce, its so so good!! The service is top notch!!! The coffee and lattes are really yummy! You must try their desserts! The atmosphere was chill and relaxing.
