Phomono Vietnamese Cuisine in Ajax

Pretty disappointed by the Tom Yom Chicken Pho. The chicken was unseasoned and boiled, the pieces were tiny, and the texture was more like fat and cartilage so you can tell its not good cuts of meat. The size we ordered was XL (we paid extra), and although theres a lot of broth and noodles, you didnt get more of the other ingredients. The beef on rice was good. The beef was chewy and flavorful, and the rice was moist. I was hoping for the rice to have more flavour or be cooked a little longer (stir-fry style). So although the dish was okay, it wasnt incredible. 4/10 experience, wouldnt dine here again.

Order take out of 2 orders of thr beef with spring rolls on vermicelli. The beef, vermicelli and vegetables were fine. The portion and price was fine. The spring rolls were spoiled and smelled spoiled, I spat it out. I thought it was just mine and my husband ate his and said the same thing. The sauce wasnt good, I like fish sauce style sauce, not sure what we got and it also didnt have a pleasant taste or smell, dumped it out. They mustve have used old meat in the spring rolls. We will not return.

Me and my boyfriend always go to Pho Mono for their House Special and rare beef soup! Their service is always friendly and quick! I would definitely recommend coming here.

Authentic Vietnamese noodles

we ate there for like 4 times 1st and 2nd time is good but in 3rd time they get the tip on our bills already i dont know if is right i said to my wife thats ok....,in the 4th time we pay cash and we leave our change and the server upset and shaking her head (talking to her co-worker there language)which is not right tipping is not mandatory the owner should be aware about there employee there attitude and how to threat the costumers,,,,

Today my friend and I ate here. I ordered the crispy egg noodle with the vegetables and my friend had plain pho with grilled chicken. The dishes were delicious and we cannot wait to come back.

I have been coming here for almost 2 years. This place is always great. They usually come here at least once a week. Sometimes more sometimes less but I always enjoy it. I suggest it to everybody. Food is great. The people are great and theyre always kind and smiling. See you guys soon!

The soup taste nothing, there is no service, the waitress only delivers the food to the table and nothing else. They use fresh rice noodles which makes the soup taste less flavor. Definitely not recommend

This is the best Vietnamese place in and around the area. I eat here almost on a weekly basis. Love the place, always so clean and the service is amazing. The servers make you feel welcomed. The food there is always delicious. Recommend

Awesome experience here always, came today Thursday April 25th, and the gentleman serving us was absolutely delightful, food was great and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Will always come here to eat whenever we shop in this plaza.

I would like to share a service experience from this service establishment yesterday evening April 30, 2024. I am a 3rd party delivery personnel, so my main purpose of coming to this restaurant is to pick up our guest ordered products and deliver it to the recipient address. I was delivering guests ordered products for more than 4 hrs already receiving guest order from this restaurant. Before going to this restaurant, I feel like peeing already. So when I get there after stating guests order name and code to be pick up, I politely asked the female counter personnel if I can use their washroom by saying Hi there, can I please use your washroom, I can t hold it anymore she replied washroom is closed already . You know the feeling that you almost lay it because you can t hold it anymore, then you realized that you need to hold it a bit longer. So I looked around the dining area, and seen plenty of guests still dining in. Then I made a second thought to the counter personnel by saying you still have plenty of guests in the dining area, do you have available washroom for them to use? Then she replied rudely by saying YES! THE WASHROOM IS CLEANED ALREADY, DO YOU WANT COME SEE!!! (So I realized that she don t wanted me to use the washroom. I felt disconnected by her actions, just because I m just a delivery personnel and didn t buy any product from the restaurant, I can t use the restaurant facility) I didn t respond to her, and just leave the restaurant. After delivering their product to our guest. I went home to use washroom. When I checked my Account the restaurant personnel still have a gots to rate me the lowest score. And said I m disrespectful and rude. As far as I recall I didn t use any foul words. I use please when I asked for favor and only thing I believed that touched her ego is when I asked her if they have available washroom for their guest as they still have plenty of guest dining in. So this is the whole picture after getting a delivery from this restaurant. I was there to pick up and deliver their guest ordered product. They didn t allowed me to use their washroom, even I can t hold my pee anymore. The. Report and rate me the lowest score that affects my job and my reputation as a 3rd party delivery personnel. Hope you consider the needs of your third party partner as well. I believed that you want achieved what you have at the moment without the help of the 3rd party delivery. Be considerable in the future. Please don t be so roughy nor rude. Thank you!

I have been here twice for some beef pho noodle soup and I highly recommend this location! Service is great! The workers are so kind!

Pho Ingredients were going bad and turning brown. Spring rolls were mushy and gross and beef brisket was not tender, gave 3 tiny pieces very small portion and nothing special. Don t waste your money go somewhere else. I know I will next time for the price wasn t worth it.

Very bad customer service and quality of food was very substandard. The lady servers had too much attitude. Thousands time thing about it before going in Phomono.

Very bland broth. If you think this is good, than youve never had good pho. Rice noodles are thin and flat, not the traditional texture of pho noodles should be, they are the same type of noodles you get from the Instant Pho Bowls you buy from Costco. Now that I think about it, it literally taste the same thing as the Costco instant pho bowls... Very bland and just salty. Spring rolls were decent... Clearly the pork has been blended so much that it turned into a springy meatball, still taste okay but the texture is off.

We came in around 11:45 am for lunch. We order pork & beef with rice and the rice were cold. Not impress at all.We also have a bad experience as we are leaving, We usually pay by the cashier by card and usually leave tip as cash. The day we went my sister pay for it at the cashier and drop her cash tip in the tip box, and I guess the cashier did not saw it because she was busy for something. As we are leaving the lady run up to us and told us the tip was not included! And we told her we drop it on there tip box and she just said Okay and turn her back on us. As a customer I think leaving a tip is up to customer gesture not by force. We go to this location almost every week spending $60 minimum leave a tip every single time. VERY DISRESPECTFUL. Were never ever coming back!!!!

1) TIP option is always at 15% 2) Management doesn t care if you complain 3) They sell fried chicken dishes with freezer burn. DISGUSTING. Don t waste your time or money. I don t see them being open in business for too long :) We returned our General TSO s Chicken dish as we didn t even touch it. They still happily charged us for the plate + the manager skillfully disappeared from her counter . EDIT : what should have been done is a refund or a replacement . None of which occurred .

They raised their prices recently, a large Pho with tax and tip will cost between $16-17. Thats the middle size too, a bit high for average tasting Pho. Ill be going sparingly from now on.

In my life I have never felt so threatened during dinner! The fake blonde hair girl is a crazy front line character! Her attitude is very negative and she advertises her aggression with other customers! My wife ate and I didn t So I tossed my food from the restaurant as I couldn t eat due her behaviour! Can you imagine having such a loser working at the front desk? All the sprouts are pre washed and left for hours until someone eats! Store is not busy and who s knows what s leftover! Will never return to this hole!

This is a seafood pho.. the pho (soup) tasted like a beef broth, and you will just eat the seafood (2pcs shirimp, 1 pc of crab stick (imitation of course), 2 pc (bite size, super small) fake tripe. The seafood were just put on top of the noodle, so the soup doesnt taste like seafood at all. So if you are looking for seafood pho, do not order this, or do not order it from here. You will be disappointed. Place is not so busy, but theres only 1 wait staff going around, so everything is slow. Spring roll is still good. Giving 3 stars as I know other food choices are great, just not this seafood pho.

Ive been here before amd the pho i got tonight is so bad . I ordered rare beef and well done beef. The quality and quantity has gone down. Very little pho . Very small pieces of beef and it was not what I ordered... and very little veggies. What happened?

I ordered rare beef pho extra large and a large tom yum shrimp yesterday. First off the amount of broth was the same between the large and extra size. It was the size of the styrofoam that determined the size of the dish. The tom yum broth was delicious but was hoping for more than 4 shrimp to mix it into. As for the rare beef pho. I had asked for it to be cooked and compared to other restaurants that have pho on their menu this one was not great. I would return for the tom yum and choose a different meat as the broth was flavourful.

Great customer service and good food. Been my regular go to place for local Pho. The staff and owner was great, very attentive and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. And when we had to take our leftovers out, they made sure to give us all the necessary items needed and then some. Haven t been disappointed in their service and food all the number of times I went to get food.

I love doing both dine in and take out. It s a chill location with great service. The food is delicious. It was been my chicken fried rice local go to place for years now. I have never been disappointed.

Not good soup or noodles. Fresh rolls were yummy tho despite them being poorly wrapped and firm rice paper. They don t have the traditional pork style mixed with the shrimp though. The pho broth had zero flavour and there was a ton of oil on top. You d think with that much oil the flavour would ve been amazing but I feel like they minimally boiled the bones (if at all) and added chicken base or maybe it was a malnourished cow haha the manager was very kind and understanding but my waitress gave me major stink eye after I explained I drove for 30 minutes to get there. I doubt she meant to but still left me uneasy.

$14 for the XL pho which was enough for 4 meals for me . So delicious & our server was a sweetheart with all the questions and requests we had

How are you going to be called PHOmono and have the worst pho? Absolutely garbage, tiniest meat portion for a large, not vermicelli noodles; honestly, the broth tastes like you just put a beef boullion cube and called it a day. This is a disgrace to pho, please dont disrespect it.

Fast, easy and friendly service. Food is fantastic and flavourful. Definitely exceeded expectations. Had the spicy Pho, grilled beef with rice and beef noodles. Can t pick a favourite as they were all delicious. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Will definitely be back when we re in the area again.

Terrible tasting pho and very little meat inside

My children and I have been to this restaurant a few times and, of course, at the request of my children, and every time, the food was not bad but did not match the price. I have been in other Pho restaurants in the GTA for many years because I love Vietnamese cuisine, and every I went the price matched the amount of food served and, of course, the taste. This time, not to mention that the quality and quantity of the food were NOT good, what the owner tried to do was force the customer to pay the tip. She adds the tip amount as she pleases in your receipt, and if the customer doesnt notice, then the owner gets paid an additional $10 or $20 depending on the order. If the customer notices the unjustifiable amount, the owner becomes angry about why the customer does not want to pay the tip? and the owner insists that this is the law, you must pay tip and tip is for workers, not me lol. Although her argument of adjusting the price and defrauding the customer does not have any base in law or common sense, she is very firm in her belief that her workers wages must be paid by way of tip, and customers must pay that. Please be careful and check your receipts item by item to not be over and unnecessarily charged. By the way, she banned me from going to her restaurant because I am a bad influence lollll

Most watered down weak tom yum and house special pho we ever had. Practically zero flavour, not even hint of heat in tom yum. Super disappinted... waiter wasnt busy but was nonetheless unattentive. Worst soups we have had anywhere in long time.

As a critical base it kinda made everything else which in all fairness was good, very mediocre. I dont see myself returning to this location unfortunately.

Small location but its nice and cozy inside. Staff are super friendly, helpful and fast and its kept clean. First time here, the Grilled Beef pho was tasty, made very well. The Spring Rolls were good, and for the beverage, had the Mango Bubble Tea which was also great, didnt realize they had the option at the location.

No change from my previous review. Good, simple Vietnamese cuisine with Chinese and some Thai food on the menu. The service is faster versus during the pandemic. Great food as usual! Im changing the overall rating to 5 . Vegetarian options: Available. Best to ask questions if you are allergic to peanuts, etc. Dietary restrictions: They encourage you to inform them if you are allergic to some food items. You can request for lesser salt, etc. Parking: The restaurant has ample parking which they share with another restaurant. If needed, theres more parking space towards the box stores. Kid-friendliness: We saw whole families sharing food with their kids but just in case you need one, they do have high chairs, etc. Wheelchair accessibility: Available. Handicapped parking right in front of the store.

3rd time i tried to order and they said no driver was available. why say you deliver until 8:45 when that is not the case. even worse, they took my order then called to see if the driver was available after taking my order. I am done supporting this place!

Tried the beef pho. Tasty, specially the broth

My partner and I came here on a Saturday night after a day of shopping at the plaza. We thought this was going to be a let s just get some food in our stomachs restaurant but we were pleasantly surprised! The food was really good, portions were large and reasonably priced considering how much they could have marked up their prices due to location. The service was amazing as well, especially from Richie (and another lady as well who was working on the evening of Nov 18, unfortunately I didn t get her name). Our teas were constantly being filled and we never had to wait for someone to come to our table because of how attentive and caring they were towards all customers. Highly recommend this place! Would give zero stars if I could. There were 4 of us, they only provided two plates and no cutlery. We had to get cutlery from the table next to us, they missed a dish we ordered, and then charged us for it and when we said we didnt get it, they argued with us saying we got it. Food is bad, service is horrible, skip this place and go to Pho Siagon down the road.

Got delivery through Doordash from Phomono tonight. Ordered 2 large house specials and spring rolls... Is it normal for the large phos to be THIS SMALL? Theres barely any noodles and literally no meat.... For $32+ tax for the 2 bowls... Thats really disappointing. Not to mention the inside of the bag was drenched as you can see by the wet cardboard and soup at the bottom of the bag... and soup was in the bean sprout bag as well. Is this the quality of phomono?

no stars, i am a frequent customer i order all the time, i go to get delivery in pickering not far from the store and they refused to deliver it because the address is not in Ajax yet there is no indication on their website they wont deliver if not in Ajax. great way to lose a customer. I order deliver because i cant leave work to come get it. I wont be returning to them again. Poor customer service.

Very disappointed. The past few times I have gone to this restaurant I have to wait extra time to get my food. This evening, my husband and I both ordered dinner. He had a pho and I had general Tao chicken. He had finished eating his food and I had not received mine yet. I had to go and ask for my food. Who knows how long I would have waited if I hadn t asked. He normally would wait to eat until everyone had their food, but if he did, his food would have been cold. When I went to pay, all I got was a sorry. The cooks need to learn time management, if one meal takes longer to prepare, start that one first. Pretty simple concept. Don t think we will be back for awhile, which is a shame since the food is pretty good.

This is one of my favorites dinning spots. Great value for the money. Excellent dishes and friendly staff. I just keep coming back. I would strongly recommend their Satay chicken skewers. The only criticism is the atmosphere.

I ve really only had the pho here and while it s not awful it s also not good by a stretch. Broth really lacks that steeped bone broth character. They re cutting corners some where and it shows. Pho is all about the broth and they re missing the pint here. I also really despise the use FLAT rice noodles they serve here it just doesn t slurp right.

This place doesnt even deserve a 1 star review. We went for dinner today and ordered 4 items but only 3 came, they forgot my wife food. We had to follow-up for them to know we were missing item, they said it was an printer issues, So 1 of us didnt get to eat, Not even an apology from anybody. I would not recommend this place to eat, too expensive food not good or you wont even get your orders. PHO SAIGON on Liverpool and kingston is way better than this place, bigger portion, and taste way better. We will no longer come to eat here and will tell everyone we know not to eat in PHOMONO ajax anymore.

They never serve food together. My Tom yum hardly had any beef or veggies in it. Normally the food is great and you can deal with it not coming out together but now the food is just mediocre. Less likely to go back again.

This was the first time we ordered here. The worse portion of meat in Beef vermicelli noodle meal, and no sauce or flavor in the fried thai noodles!!! As you can see in the picture how plain it is. And Scarborough Pho vietnamese restaurants provide a very good portion of beef on their vermicelli meals. And the chicken in the mango salad, not even sure what that is, white meat. If I could give zero or minus stars for the food we paid $ 49 something such a rip off. Those who love Pho please drive a bit to Scarborough locations.

They have a new Item that is not on the, its called fatty beef noodle soup. If you would like to order it, just tell the server that you want the Rare Beef Noodle Soup and he will make the substitution automatically. I have been coming to this location for almost 5 years now and I could not praise it more however the last three times I have come the food has been terrible. the prices have skyrocketed and the food quality has declined in a big way to the point where the food is now uneatable. Maybe they are taking advantage that the restaurant inspectors are on strike because I dont think a restaurant inspector would allow this place to continue to stay open if they served this type of food. the beef in the rare beef noodle soup is literally a clump of fat. the only saving grace for this restaurant is the service is fantastic. but I personally go for the food not the service

Not the best pho. Maybe Im spoiled since I grew up in North York with lots of great and authentic viet restaurants around. Though the soup is not greasy, I find the soup way too boiling hot that the noodles continue to cook until I finish the entire soup. Nobodys into overcooked rice noodles!

Was in the east end and really dying for a hearty pho on a chilly autumn day- we came across Phomono after a Costco run. The location is great, very convenient. Price point is great. Portions are generous. My husband had the grilled pork chop and rice. It was delicious, salty, sweet enhanced by the grill. Delicious. The pho was a good portion size . The broth was lacking the depth of the flavor you get from a broth normally simmered for at least half a day. However, It did satisfy a craving with the long drive to north Scarborough or downtown. Hoping after this review a better full bodied broth will make an appearance. Would definitely return for the grilled pork chops!

This place is incredibly stingy. Had 2 house specials, noodle portions were normal, but they skimped huge on meat. Spring rolls were if okay portion size but the taste was way off. I asked for extra hot sauce after tipping 15% for takeout, and they refused saying I had to pay extra. Double jokes on me as they only included hoisin and added NO hotsauce at all with my order. Better off driving the extra to Taunton and Salem and visiting Pho Giato instead, better value and service.

We had ordered chicken pho,fried squid ,fresh rolls and fried rice. Fried squid was horrible. They added only tentacles and it smells awful. Chicken pho was stale . They gave some water ,noodles and some chicken and other two items were good.. overall it was very bad experience.

My wife and I found this place online. There were mixed reviews however, I believe reviews should be taken as grain of salt. We visited the website, we were able to view the menu easily. Called ahead, placed an order and paid over the phone. By the time we went to the restaurant the food was ready. The food was fresh, large portions, delicious and perfect food for the weather. Small businesses are suffering the most during this period of time. Please support your small businesses. Give Phomono a try. The lady on the phone was super :).

Wed normally go to this place when craving for Pho. Over the weekend, we ordered for delivery. It was a fast and easy transaction. What were disappointed about though is the food itself! Pho was just ok. The fresh spring rolls dont look fresh at all and its mostly just noodles inside! The general tso chicken is VERY dry and the fried squid is not tender at all! It seems that the ingredients being used are out of date. I guess we have to look for another Pho place next time.

After looking at reviews online we were a bit hesitant to order from Phomono but decided to take a chance & I am glad we did! The house special pho was great and I also enjoyed the Vietnamese ice coffee with condensed milk. The food was packaged well. (We ordered through Uber eats) We will be back to try some other dishes as well!

Avoid at all cost. Portion is too small. Didnt taste great either. Even the fish sauce was not good. We just went here coz Pho Saigon closed.

My partner said the pho was very very good. I personally got the general Thai chicken, it wasn t very good. But she was super impressed with the pho so hence the higher rating.

I am changing the review to a 5 star because after my previous review Phomomo office and the Ajax staff were responding very quick. They explained that the reason, and advised that the new staff will be supervised during the training session. I feel like they honor my opinions and value me as a regular customer. I believe that company/restaurant like you with the probably attitude to opinions will sure do better and better. Previous: Todays order is disappointed. I have been a regular customer since I moved in Ajax 4 years ago. The vermicelli with beef and the large house special pho, portion is half less than usual. Usually the vermicelli just the noodle is enough for my 8 years old, and he can share a bit to his little sistet. But todays order is only enough for the little one(under 2 years old).

We usually get our pho here and normally its great but my last one was very disappointing, ordered grilled beef fresh spring roll and all we got was half a roll of beef and half a roll of lettuce.

Excellent food during the pandemic! The fresh rolls are my go to when I am in a rush, the tofu and chicken fresh rolls are the best :) Would definitely recommend going here, customer service there is always so nice.

My go-to place for Pho. Friendly staff tops off the clean and organized environment. The Pho is sweet with lots of aromatic notes, great noodles, acceptable meat portions and lots of broth!

Took the kids here for the youngest birthday. He is a big fan of noodles and he was not disappointed. Food was great only issue I had with the place is I still rather a old fashioned paper menu along with the tablet. It would help speed up the process of ordering food and give you a great idea of what to look for..

Have been here multiple times with my fiance. We order the XL rare beef Pho. Its absolutely amazing and unbelievably affordable! For someone who only eats so much, I fill my stomach on a cold rainy day and take my leftovers home for lunch the next day

Terrible tasteless Tom yum soup and very small portion of meat in Pho.

I get take out here every now and then, the pho and grilled items are fantastic, however the stir fried satay rice i got last week was pretty sad in comparison to the grilled rice platter.

The food is very good and a lot of choices. I got the Shanghai Noodles with a wonton soup and both was delicious. The only downside was the services with this young lady with joggs pants without any smiles.

Tonight I will give 1 to the lady (cashier) who served me. She was very rude and lacking of customer service. I placed my order at 7:53pm and she was so irritated when I asked why 9pm pick up order is not yet ready? I don t mind waiting for extra minute/s, but the fact that her gesture and tone of voice are unacceptable that she even walked away and ignored me, I think I have to raise this concern to the manager. Though sometimes the food is a hit and miss (either salty or bland), yet I don t complain and still come to dine-in or pickup. But tonight s incident is different, something that I believe I need to voice out. Since more restaurants (options) are available now in the plaza .I ll definitely skip bringing my family to dine-in or take out from this restaurant Kudos to the kitchen people keep doing what you are doing.

First time dining was good, service was okay, food was okay, so we decided to try again... Second time dining, did not like the food and service. I ordered a grilled beef with rice, the grilled beef was different sizes and the bottom beef was shredded that seems it was scrapped from the bottom of the pan, oily and burnt, maybe that s why the server was avoiding our table. This place is more like an express, if you are planning to have a group dining, I don t recommend this place, it s too small

Called this place twice. First they said they weren t doing dine in because it was ONE hour before close, which I understand. Then she said she can only do take out. I called the second time to have my take our order ready and she then said we re weren t doing take out. The kitchen closed Service is terrible. They are just finding every reason to not serve anymore people. I would not go here again.

We ordered in last night. We dont often do this. Food was hot and delicious. We had the fresh rolls, green curry and the vermicelli. Super satisfying. Would order from here again.

Moving to Ajax from Toronto I needed a new pho spot. This will not be it. Ordered rare beef pho. Normally places separate the beef from the noodles, but the noodles and beef were mixed with the beef on top. Fine that s kinda gross but ok can get passed that. The meat quality is terrible and incredibly chewy. It was stringy and almost looked like it was shredded. Broth was just ok, below average I will not be back
