Swiss Chalet in Alliston

Just talking about two last meals at Swiss chalet. Alliston I ordered wings and fries. Fries were soggy and cold. Wings Tate s very good but stone cold so I sent back and they replaced with new wings but they were in breaded and sin was fatty not crisp. Did not have the heart to send back as my 90 year old parents were treating my wife and I. Last Sunday my wife nd I ate at the location in brantford and it was absolutely fabulous. Fresh fries and the chicken was moist and hot our three meals were great. How can this location do this consistently and Alliston be sub par consistently. This has happened on numerous occasions and now considering just going to barrie if we want Swiss. Alliston you need to improve your game for the prices you are charging. Very disappointed. The new waterless urinals are also disgusting and the smell was overwhelming.

We have been going to this location for many years and the owner John has consistently delivered quality food and service. Dawn our server always does a great job making us feel at home and pays close attention to detail. We highly recommend this restaurant for reliable, consistent food and service in Alliston.

Never really have any issues with them but just found out that you have to be 10 and under to purchase a kids meal. Absolutely insane. What if a family is on a budget and the only thing you can afford is a kids meal for everyone. Make budget freidnly meals then. Be lucky we decided to come there for lunch and not mcds across the street were anyone of any age can purchase a kids meal

Was at the Alliston location for dinner with the wife. We met Jason he was very friendly and made sure we got good service we laterfound out he was the manger.we were very impressed he went out of his way to make sure customers had a good dining experience

Our server was Paul! He was super friendly and very funny. He made the experience very pleasant and would 100% ask for him Everytime!

We ordered the full chicken dinner for 4 and when we got home the 4 sides was more like dinner for 1. The only thing that was dinner for for was maybe the chicken. The sides were barely enough for 1 never mind 4. Do t waster your time or money getting it if it is meant for more than 2 people. Very disappointed in this restaurant s take out portions especially for the price we paid. Will not order this ever again.

I am a frequent diner at Swiss Chalet Alliston and have NEVER had such poor service. We had a trainee, Monique, who was just beyond the pale!!! I have an anaphalactic allergy to citrus and ALWAYS ask that no lemon come to our table. Had her trainer not known me and my allergy Monique would have brought my water with lemon. She also forgot part of my order. It only came after speaking with her trainer and arrive at our table after Id finished my entre. We stayed and asked to speak with the manager, John, to share our displeasure. Something I am typically very reluctant to do. Monique should not be a server if she cannot follow directions.

Dine in has usually been fine (although last time we had a server who literally didnt even stop when passing out table and basically threw our food at us). However, my issue is more with delivery, things have been getting worse and worse but last night was the last straw. My partner has terminal cancer and had been unable to eat much, but wanted swiss chalet last night! So first calling to order....it felt like we were transferred to a call center somewhere halfway across the world, the person on the other line Annie (suuure) sounded like they were unfamiliar with swiss chalet entirely, could barely use a phone (muffled, wierd pauses, spuratic questions in no type of order, repeating things over and over, random static on the line that made it impossible to hear, not listening to us or explaining anything, etc.) after a PAINFULLY long time, we got things ordered, even though to get the deal we wanted we had to order 2 pops (when we asked for 7up or sprite they had they only had pepsi...so pepsi it is then, why ask?) after over 45 min a driver came, he was the most pleasant part of the entire interaction! Once he took off, I checked in on my partner and went to get our dinners, to discover, I had only been given a large paper bag with 2 pepsis inside. NO FOOD. No the story doesnt even end here! We called back, they didnt apoligize, but said theyd send 2 more right out...after ANOTHER 40 min we called back again yeah, the driver is just leaving with them now ??? AGAIN no apology, so what was happening for that 40 minutes? they certainly werent cooking our chicken, because when it finally came another half hour after THAT (we live less than 10 min away) it was cold, there were hardly any fries and things were thrown in, upside down, etc. I was STUNNED that no one apologized or offered to comp our meal! Stuff like this has happened before, but this was definitely the worst experience, Ive also noticed that ANY other place that has forgotten an item or taken waaaaaay too long, has offered us a free meal or at the very least a cupon or *something as an apology...as well as a VERBAL apology. I guess next time, my partner should just shake off chemo and drive over there! Disgusting. You dont KNOW who your customers are, you dont know if theyre sick and this is the first meal theyve been able to eat in months, you dont know if its a single mother who has saved up all her money to have a special dinner w her kids, you dont know if they have a disability, etc. so MAYBE you should provide competent, polite service EVERY TIME, just in case. And no people do not want to engage further by filling out a survey but an automated msg. they want you to DO BETTER.

My family has eaten at Swiss Chalet for years and we love the food. We live in Alliston and that is the restaurant we go to the most. I have only 2 complaints about this location, the salads are ridiculously small for the price they charge and the ladies bathroom smells terribly. I have mentioned my disappointment in the salad portion to a few of the waitstaff but felt I should address it in a Google review instead. So if these issues could be resolved I would be a very satisfied customer.

After a long day on the road we were looking for something to fuel up rest and hit back the road as we were on our way back into to town. Our host was very nice and patient, we kindly ask for a booth as we were with our 3 kids our host I believe his name is Isaak was very accommodating and found a booth for all of us to fit comfortably. He helped us get comfortable and told us someone would be with us shortly. Alyssandra our waitress was very friendly patient and very helpful in terms of waiting for our kids to take turns and say their own orders. She was prompt with take the order and the food didnt take too long to come out. The washrooms were clean and no lingering smell. Ample parking throughout the lot. I went to Swiss Chalet in Alliston today to have their Thanksgiving special. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. My servers name was Aly. She is an excellent server! Even though she was very busy (it was a Saturday night), I never had to wait long for my meal or my dessert. She checked on me during my meal and always had a smile on her face. All of the staff, the manager, and the other servers (thanks Kim) are friendly, welcoming and efficient. I had a great experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant. You wont be disappointed.

Ordered chicken and ribs last night. Came out cold, as if it was taken out of the fridge. I informed the waitress immediately and she said they would get me a new one. 20 minutes later, everyone at my table was pretty much done eating and mine was brought it. Chicken was extremely tiny and not a decent size portion. Ribs looked nothing similar to the photo, had no sauce on it. Very disappointed.

We got the thanksgiving dinner to takeaway and really enjoyed it. I ordered ahead and it was ready when I went to collect it - ordering online was easy and the collection was very efficient too. The food was really tasty - so much delicious chicken and I cant get enough of the chalet sauce!

Three of us went for thanksgiving, after being seated, we ordered our drinks, and appetizers, and thanksgiving special. We waited for our beverages, and had to ask a second time. Appetizers, arrived, then we had to ask for cutlery, and napkins, server brought loose cutlery, and stack of napkins, which tables are set before you are seated. Dinners arrive, they should have had three thanksgiving dinners, one came, fine, one came with no fries, which was asked. For the third came with no stuffing or cranberries. It was terrible service.

The worst ribs and fries I have ever had. Everything seemed to be covered in sugar and the fries looked like they were fried in oil that had been in for 30 days. We dont eat out all the time. When we do eat out, we want to eat really good quality food and this was a complete disaster. They have a ridiculous baked potato and if youve never tried it, dont try it. Also, the tables were filthy. If I could give 0 stars, I would, have a nice day

I recently dined at Swiss Chalet on Young St in Alliston and had a fantastic experience. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and flavorful, complemented perfectly by the Chalet Sauce. The fries and coleslaw were also delicious. A special shoutout to our server, Kyra, whose friendly and attentive service made our meal even better. The restaurant was clean and had a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting if youre in the area especially if Kyra is your server!

Ive always ordered delivery from Swiss Chalet. Most times theyve been good, but recently Ive found things missing from my order, the quality of food lacking, and the delivery times to be crazy long. Since I live in Tottenham, there isnt time for them to go back to the restaurant and pick up my forgotten items, so the most they do is give a refund for the missing food. Which honestly isnt a help because I need to feed my family and a refund wont do that. Hopefully they get back to being reliable.

We always go to Swiss Charlet for a quick bite, on Aug 17, we stop by your Restrant around 3 pm. We had double leg dinner, quater chicken dinner a pint of beer and a glass of wine. Food tasted good, service was good, that evening around diner time, we fell ill with food poisoning symptoms. It was painful. It s hard to understand how we can get food poisoning from Swiss chalet, but that s the only thing we had for lunch and we did wash our hands before lunch.

Couldn t be more disappointed in the Alliston Swiss Chalet. I am not one to write poor reviews but after giving them chance after chance I will not return. Everything from terrible portions, chicken so dry it it made our gums bleed to numerous cancelled orders because they wanted to close early or ran out of chicken . They seriously need to shut this location down and restart.

I had the pleasure of being served by Ali. From the moment we were seated, her warm and welcoming presence set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food was great as always. Good tasting food. Usually get really good service as well. This latest time I went waitress Jocelyn served me and every time I m in there she seems to be in a bad mood. She forgot a couple things but that I could overlook. What I can t overlook was what she said at the end of the meal. I usually don t get charged for the Chalet sauce and I was this time so I asked her why. She told me it depends on the waitress. So she deliberately charged me $4 extra for sauce. This incident makes me never want to visit this establishment again. And if I do I will be specifically requesting anyone but Jocelyn. Kid-friendliness: Great for bringing young children

I stopped in a week ago after a long day of driving. When I entered the restaurant the was no one available to greet me although I did see staff walking around and talking. I stood by the bar side just wanting a table for myself. A group of 3 arrived after me. The restaurant on had a couple tables in use Im the bar side. Finally, when someone approached I was told I could not sit on the bar side unless I sat at the bar and that I was cutting in ahead of the group of three. I could not understand why I couldnt seat myself especially since the restaurant was empty. When she came back she ask me why I hadnt sat at the bar and and I replied thst I preferred to sit by the window and then she said go ahead. After sitting about 15 to 20 minutes she came back with the menus and I said I would like to order a drink and she said Im not your waitress. And walked a way. I was hoping she would pass the drink order to the bartender. Unfortunately, there was no bartender. Anyway, it took forever to get my order the bartender was not always available. She was pleasant not like my first interaction. I was very disappointed in the service and the rudeness of the young woman. The resta6was empty and hD lots of staff hanging around. Really upset because I was looking forward to having a 1/4 chicken dinner.

I cant review the food because no one served us. We (2 adults, 2 tired kids) came in after a long day and stood at the front door waiting. We wandered to the dining side and the bar side and saw people working on both. 2 of them looked at my wife and walked away. It felt like the 6 to 8 staff that we saw must have felt it was not their job to greet or seat us. There were hardly any tables occupied. One of the servers was having a grand old chat with some people for several minutes. 2 of the staff in the kitchen area were showing each other things on their cellphones. We waited at least 6 or 7 minutes which felt like way more before we left. It was super frustrating having to go spend our 100 bucks somewhere else when we wanted to spend it there. Brutal service.

I have tried to eat hear a few times. The only good server was Chrystal. She is is no longer there . The service is horrible . The food is always cold. This time the ribs. We re from an Ethiopian pig. Last time trying to support this place. Go to Angus instead. Food

I honestly dont know why I keep ordering. Just got my meal that I placed in advance through the app. Ordered a Family meal, asked for the chicken cut in HALF, I ordered at 530pm for it to be delivered at 730pm. I was actually impressed that it arrived at 740pm. Not bad. BUT my meal looks like it was literally cooked at 530pm. Everything is COLD, chicken on the thighs is so dry that I cant even chew through the skin. 2 of the Buns are rock hard. Like actually rock hard. Im wish ibwas exaggerating but I couldnt even get a knife through it like it has been sitting in a heat window drying out cooking the outside. Also, my chicken arrived in quarters, completely massacred with one thigh missing all of the skin completely. Honestly Swiss chalet, for a family meal that cost me almost $70 after delivery and tip, you are the worst. I dont even have the energy to call customer service anymore. I wish I could give you guys zero. Such a disappointment. I wish I could post a photo of my meal LOL. Such a joke.

Worst Swiss chalet you can go to. I get home they didn t give any butter for the buns not the first time either and you need to ask for utensils or they won t give you any the chicken was way over done skin was burnt and the fries were terrible won t be returning here

This Swiss Chalet has been consistently good throughout the years. Weve gone here for many special occasions like birthdays or celebrations. I appreciate their coupons, which are typically very good value.

This was a second chance visit for us as we had previously been disappointed from the food and service at this location. We arrived with party of 8. Started off okay. We got our drinks fairly quickly. We ordered our food, which took over a half hour to come.. our food was dropped off at another table before they realized it was fve wrong table.. when we got our food, it was cold, the chicken was dry, the Swiss chalet sauce was cold, the ribs were cold, the quesadea that one of our party got had a bone still in the chicken and was also served cold. I noticed our server was standing around busy chatting with other people instead of tending to us. We had asked to get refills which did not come. I went to speak with the manager who explained that they were short staffed among other issues. I was told I would get you speak with the owner which didnt happen. As mentioned earlier, this was a second chance visit.. we will never step foot in this location again..

I have to say, I was not pleased with the portions, the price is going up and the amount you get is getting smaller. Seriously folks, MORE SAUCE. There used to be barely enough , now there is a shortage of sauce. And with the chicken being a tad dry ... I was not as happy as I usually am. Edit. Today my daughter drove 3 hrs to spend time with me and to take me to dinner. Lots of parking at 2:30, seated promptly, and left there. 20 mins go by, maybe 8 tables were in use 2 tables cleared 4 waitstaff but no service. We left. This may be the last Swiss chalet sees of us. Edit Ok, one more time. I went in alone on a Friday at 3:10. Seated immediately and recognized by a server right away. Order placed, drink and appetizer brought out promptly. Dinner was hot, fresh and heaping (pics)oh yeah , bigger sauce! . Ok Swiss, youve earned another chance. Please keep up the good work. Parking: Great parking options. PATHETIC!! Ordered 2 veggie stir fry, sat in the drivethrough for 10 mins when I was the only vehicle there. Meal fit for a 2 year old, didnt realize they made kiddie portions. Asked for sauce on the side because of travel time to get home, cant even get that right. Will never return, can spend my $40+ elsewhere, advise you do the same.

Ordered beef dinner at drive through waited 10 minutes no one in line asked me if I wanted condiments I said yes please was charged $30.14 Got home no condiments the dinner came with soggy vegetable medley that had leaked through the bag and ended up on the front seat of my car but I digress The beef was tasteless the fries looked and tasted like they were from the bottom of the fryer and again no condiments Disappointing

Dawn was our waitress in Alliston. She was helpful, friendly and provided excellent service. Downside is some of the food not prepared for lactose intolerant or gluten free people.

Ordered online through the app for delivery. Food came on time, earlier that expected. Once we got it though, was a huge let down.. burnt dry rotisserie chicken, really dry bbq rib sandwich, missing the sides... Missed/ forgot some of the stuff we ordered. Swiss chalet used to be one of my favourite restaurants, but the past few times weve ordered... it hasnt been the greatest.

Ordered Stir fry order of fries and wings. They forgot our fries and I went back to get them and the fries were cooked twice, so they were so crispy you couldnt eat them. The chicken in the stir fry was like someone had chewed it the spit it in the pan and I asked for white meat only but got both. Not impressed.

We celebrated a 48th wedding anniversary and there were 9 of us. Food all came out at the same time, fries couldve been hotter but our server brought out fresh hot ones. A nice evening.

Ordered the festive special. The stuffing was missed, the rice was undercooked and inedible, and the pie was literally destroyed.

My family and I went for dinner and we had Julie as our server. She was absolutely fabulous! She was so kind, sweet, and patient with our daughter. She listened to her ramble on while taking our order & had the cutest conversation with her! She was very knowledgeable with the menu and answered each question we had (as we are very picky) Julie had a wonderful personality and smile the whole time we were in her section & made the night very enjoyable for us! The food was delicious, but Julie put it over the top for us! We will be going back soon!

Restaurant was not Busy! 1pm Oct 9th 2023. Waited quite a while to be seated & waited again to order. 1 quarter then of Restaurant being used. However there was always an excuse! 4 Servers present. The pop had no Carbonation, flat! When eating in, Id expect to be eating off of real plates, not cardboard take out of any sorts. Food was good except for solid frozen coconut cream pie. The Server was nice but she was really struggling with her Giant, long dirty Fake nails. Suggestion....just get takeout, save your tip $$ or go somewhere else! Rather be served by a Robot!

Sometimes we go to Barrie, but we prefer this location because the servers are so nice, especially Julie. Even when its busy shes always pleasant and helpful. Also, the food is consistently delicious.

A reliable experience with decent food. I wish they included a second side dish since the prices keep going up. Also, the fountain drinks all smell/taste a bit like chlorine.

Terrible service This has been a constant problem with this location. If you order through the drive through be prepared to wait up to 20 min IN THE DRIVE THRU for your food which is normally cold to the touch and the portions contained to get smaller. Don t waster your money on a place that doesn t value your time.

We had a terrible meal on Nov. 16/23. We answered a survey was called the next day by the manager, who made it right....this meal was delicious and tasty.

Portions very small. Hardly any fries and really tiny fries. What s going on?

We were seated quickly. Our waitress was effecient and friendly. She gave us time to figure out our orders. The food was served quickly and hot. Our waitress brought out any of the extras that we requested.

First we waited over 40 minutes for food (restaurant was not busy at all). My son and I both ordered a chicken sandwich and both buns were very burnt. I then asked for new buns (showed the waitress the burnt buns) and then got ice cold buns. The best part was when the bills came and she handed my son his own bill and my husband and mine were on another (we did not request this, no clue why his meal was on a separate bill). Would not recommend this location!
