Perfect breakfast dinner complete with dinner bar stools! One of the very few places that has gluten free bread! They keep the coffee flowing, what more do you need?!

First time going to the egg and I. Honestly I felt the service could have been alot better. The food was good. The servers were nice but seemed over worked and didnt followup at all. We arrived around 11:50am and got the food around 1pm so just over an hour of waiting for 6 people. Seemed excessive and the table that arrived beside us got food first which was strange. Once the food was delivered, I had to go up several times to ask for more water, cutlery that wasnt bent, napkins, more ketchup as the bottle was empty. Some food items or toppings like adding cheese to eggs were missed that were ordered. There was a customer in front of us at the end paying his bill that had missed a side of bacon etc. I didnt leave a tip. I might try it one more time and adjust my review if things are different.

Went there for breakfast this morning. Terrible food. Bacon wasnt cooked, asked for no onions in home fries...was loaded with onions, eggs were runny, and toast was not toasted. Never again.

Food and atmosphere is good. A good spot for families. However the service is not good. We went on Mothers Day for brunch with my mother-in-law. It was busy as expected. However the middle-aged waitress seemed very annoyed by the amount of people and was very impatient when we politely asked when we will be getting our food. Mothers Day is probably one of the biggest revenue day of the year. It might not hurt to put on a smile.

Went with a friend for breakfast , ordered two classic breakfasts .. it was hot , fresh and done right . Service was prompt and attentive. Cost was more than fair , large portion . Will definitely return .

I used to love the original location on upper Centennial but then started to go to the one on upper James since it closed. Gave this location a try and thought it was ok. Food was good but when I asked for my home fries to be well done a bit more I was told that they dont do that and if I wanted them more well done that Id have to settle for their home fries that are deep fried and not homemade. I was thoroughly disappointed as it didnt take much more effort to make my potatoes a little more crisp. As the potatoes are the main reason why I go to the egg and I, I was disappointed. Overall its still a good breakfast place but I think Ill stick to what I know moving forward

Everything was excellent until we ran into a very confrontational Asian waitress, just for that reason she ruined our visit to the place.

We had a wonderful breakfast, great portions, amazing service and super accommodating with my special request.

I take my daughter there quite often and I always ask to be served by Mich! Shes the sweetest lady ever and always gives the service with a big smile!

Wife was sick after eating here, she had the advocado, bacon benny. Everything else good but hard to get past food poisoning!! Won t be back.

The Chicken and Turkey Omlettes are different and Tasty. I suggest them. Over the last year, Ive noticed a less than enjoyable decline in service. There never seems to be enough wait staff available and the ones that are there could do with training in more speedy and efficient methods of meeting the customers needs. Other than that, Its still a wonderful restaurant to dine at.

Great place to start your day

Unfortunately there are no zeros. Walked in and walked right out after seeing just how filthy this place was. The 40 dead flies on the window sill was a nice touch. Yuck. Clean up your act.

Im not sure what happened to this place, but it seems to have gone down hill. I Ordered the classic sausage and eggs. Everything was cold, like it was sitting at the pass. I told the server, she took it back and came back with a new plate 5 minutes later. Sausage and eggs didnt taste any warmer, and the bacon that she took back was dripping in grease like they just threw it back on the grease to warm it up. The food did not taste fresh at all.

Retro art, fast friendly service, great coffee refills and value for the meal. Always a family generational fave.

Good sirs and madams, I doth give my stamp of approval to the Egg & I! The Signature Omlette was a delight to the taste buds, with its rich and savory flavors. And let us not forget the Mimosas, so very delicious and pleasing to the palate. It is a fine establishment, one that I highly recommend. If you seek a meal to fill your belly and warm your heart, then prithee, do visit the Egg & I!

Hands down the best breakfast place I ve ever been to. I ve visited this location 4 times and their quality never fails. The bbq chicken burger was tender, juicy. The fries are always crispy. The eggs Benedict was so creamy and delicious. The price is definitely right too! The waitress was very attentive and kind. 10/10!

This is the first time I ve been disappointed with my order, I ordered the house omelette x2 with an order of pancakes to go. It seems you guys have changed your feta cheese (from cow to goats milk??) not good, the home fries were next to raw and the pancakes were undercooked as well. I ve been a long time customer, but todays order will have me going elsewhere so sad. This is from the Ancaster location btw.

Great place

My wife and I have visited the Ancaster location a number of times. By far the best Eggs Benedict with Ham around the Mountain area. The Cobb Salad is excellent as well. Service is great and the servers are very attentive and look after the customer. Great value for the money!

Simply got the classic breakfast. Homefries looked and tasted raw so sent it back. After almost 10 minutes waitress brought food again and the homefries were still hard and tasted raw. I told the waitress and said no point in waiting for them to do it again since the people i was with were already done. Bill comes and no discount or even verbal acknowledgement of their errors. Eggs and that were only decent part of meal. Definitely NOT worth $20.

Great atmosphere. Despite being busy and I was on my own, they seated me very quickly. Prompt friendly service. The chefs were putting out lots of plates of yummy looking food quickly. They seem to take great pride in their work and were smiling while they worked. I ordered the junior boss breakfast (at Sunday lunchtime) and it came fast. It had two pancakes, an egg (scrambled for me), 2 sausages (or you can have bacon or ham) and golden hash browns. The server also upon request brought me some reduced sugar maple syrup. All the food was very good.

We went for breakfast here today ..What a mistake, we only live five minutes away and used to come regularly, but after a very poor meal we have not been for a while. We mistakenly thought we would give them another chance. My Wife had a chicken benny and I had a regular pea meal benny. There were only three tables occupied. A few couples came in after us. We waited far too long for service, in fact two couples walked out, tired of waiting I guess. Our meals took forever, both meals were very lacklustre and the coffee didn t taste of coffee at all. We paid and left going straight home, as I said we only live five minutes away, by the time we pulled into our driveway we were wondering who was going to use the bathroom first ..We both ended up in both our bathrooms for well over fifteen minutes, My wife is dizzy and feeling pukey and I have without a word of exaggeration explosive diarrhea. My god we feel absolutely awful, we ate nothing before we went there since the previous nights supper, so it had to be the breakfast. Certainly not the egg and I of old, you could always be sure of a good meal. For us never again, why can t I give minus stars, this place now deserves ten of those.

Horrible service and food. I went there today for pickup and grabbed the classic breakfast with eggs, sausage and homefries. The Asian lady who was working is extremely rude and literally tossed my bag on the counter and then pushed it/slid it to me instead of handing it to me like a decent human being. She also cut me off several times when I was trying to ask for condiments. Food: homefries were soggy and undercooked, bread was also soggy. Little to no seasoning on the entire meal. Avoid this spot at all costs. Not worth your money.

Classic breakfast spot. We go often, varied menu options.

We were seated, and gave our order. No one checked on us after 35 mins I flagged someone down to ask about our order, in which case it was missed somehow or given to someone else. We decided to just leave at that point, the cook mockingly said have a good day with a rude smile( hard to explain had to see it) no apologies were made.

It s a place you could go in sit down talk to the waitress food is excellent. Anything on the menu is great they re willing to change it and make it better. The owner is fantastic and the whole staff is kind, courtesy and friendly. Vegetarian options: Not sure about all the vegetarian options but they re aim to please just ask Parking: Fair size for fair place but there s always a place to park in the back or front or on the road Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly lot stay as noisy as you want. Friendly with the people around you. Wheelchair accessibility: Double doors, Fox Street in willing to help you straight away

Have breakfast every Tuesday morning. Michelle is fantastic along with the great cooks in the kitchen. Highly recommend. Great portions and bottomless cup of coffee.

Little on the slow side. Changed up their breakfast potatoes, big mistake on their end. Bacon is the best around

Set a new personal record. Got asked to fill my coffee 11 times. Final one while putting on coat and bill paid. Bottomless cup indeed. Terrys special or back bacon and eggs are personal favourites.

It was good, the hashbrown werent my cup of tea. Nobody in my group ate them. Dietary restrictions: Did not have any gluten free options.

I think the ownership has changed as the food isn t like it used to be. Quite disappointed today ..overcooked eggs, burnt bacon, and an eggs Benny order messed up. The place was pretty empty inside too when normally it s packed on a Sunday.

Ate here last weekend .Worst breakfast place I ve ever been to the food was garbage, the place was super unorganized and the service was terrible. The only pleasant part of my experience was the cheeeful and friendly young bus boy that had no problem giving me fresh coffee when I didn t like the taste of the cup I got.

We stopped for brunch on our way out of Hamilton on Sunday. The staff was friendly, the service was fast and the food was hot and delicious. Will definitely stop there again.

A wait about 5 to 10 minutes too get seated - about another 10 minutes to give our order for drinks,- 15 minute wait the girl came by to give us refills for our drinks- that we had not recieved yet, got drinks and gave order to waitress, ordered a hot hamburger and a western omelet waited another 35 minutes for food to arrive too the table. No vegetables or knife with the hot hamburger- no toast or knife with my omelet.Even had to wait forever or it seemed like it to pay the bill. It sucked

It took a long time to get our food. The grilled chicken sandwich was maybe a 6 out of 10 for flavor. Not a real fan

The food was tasteless to the point I couldnt eat it, never got the juice I ordered, my wife said her French toast tasted like Styrofoam and was unable to finish her meal. This used to be a great place to eat. Dont know what happened.

Nov. 1 2022. We were pleasantly surprised by Michelle a cheerful waitress, please remember it is 7am. Michelles service was great. My coffee cup was never empty and food tasted wonderful. Thank you again Michelle

Hate to leave a bad review but I m just being honest. Came in on the October 29 at about 1pm. We ordered 2 steak and benny, side sausage and pecan pancakes. The pancakes were delicious, a little under cooked but that s okay. Steak and benny is just horrible, the steak has an off taste to it. Almost like it was going bad. And side potatoes were not fresh and tasted like the grill if that makes sense. We took 2 bites out of the steak before sharing our concerns with our serve. She was apologetic and told me she would share her concerns with the kitchen and thats about it. Never asked if we could get something else, just asked if we would like our bill. She brought our bill over and did not remove the steak and benny. As I was paying I asked her why the items weren t removed. I was told she couldnt because there was no manager in. Which doesn t make sense. After we paid the server came back with some coupons told me these were for us, if we ever decide to come back again . Food wasn t the best and service wasn t the greatest either. Would not return
