384 Wilson St E, Ancaster, ON L9G 2C2, Canada
Cozy haunt in a circa-1823 building featuring classic British bar fare & live music some nights.
Celebrated a birthday here and they expertly took care of our group. Had a number of the dishes and each one was quite good
The food is a little bit bland, but to be very honest, that is a lot of British cuisine. So if you don't mind a little under seasoning, you will love this place. Beautiful setting for a meal that brings you back hundreds of years. Staff are absolutely lovely. Portions are also excellent!
Beautiful place. We stopped here after doing a few hikes close by, so glad we did. The resturant had a fantastic vibe and extremely friendly staff. Even without a reservation they were able to seat us quite quickly. They had a great selection of beers on tap. The menu was a perfect size with many different options. We got a burger, poutine and chicken wings, all cooked to perfection. Thank you to the staff at coach and lantern for a very enjoyable meal.
The food was excellent and a very reasonable price. Truly has the atmosphere of many of the English pubs I have been in. Stone walls, fireplace, dark wood, cozy, with a decent selection on beers on tap and ciders. The staff was friendly and our order came out in a timely manner. Would recommend.
Beautiful place located in Ancaster, went yesterday and we sat outside as the place was full and we needed reservations. Enjoyed the evening though was cold but nice time. Food is excellent.
Date of visit: Sunday April 21, 2024 What a cool little pub. We had never been here before, but our guest had and thought we would like it. It has all of the charm and decor of a beautiful British pub. The restaurant is located in the back of the historic beauty of the Ancaster area building. It is very unassuming and it was a great surprise to ‘discover’ it. We walked in through the outdoor patio - but since it wasn’t open we can only assume the patio would be a gorgeous place to enjoy dinner. We ordered Beef Dip Sandwich, Salmon Tacos, and Chicken Stir Fry. The food was fantastic. I loved the beef sandwich; the stir fry & fish tacos were enjoyed by others as well. Our waitress was very friendly and spicy - which we loved. She had an edge that you’d expect (and hope for ) from a cool British pub. We had a great time with her as our server. This restaurant is very cool, and I cant wait to go back. (maybe eat on the patio?)
We're always looking for new restaurants to check out. Last night we dined at the Coach and Lantern. A very cozy place, and a lot of fun. You must have a reservation. There are not many tables and it fills up quickly. There is a great bar area where you can sit too. The menu looks good, and there are daily features. A small selection of wines red and white. Beer 🍺🍻 on tap, Caesars and other mixed cocktails. Very friendly staff. They were quick and checked in on us. The table we sat at was a bit small for 4 people, the girls were good at taking away anything that finished or we no longer needed. Plenty of Parking, it is located just across the street to the left of the building. We were here in April 2024. Its not warm enough to sit outside. Their courtyard looks like it would be pretty cool in the summer, and you can eat outside. We enjoyed their feature Pickerel and chips, their Beef-tips, shrimp 🦐🍤 appetizer, spinach dip, fried pickles and deep fried cauliflower. All were delicious! Definitely would eat here again, or even pop on for some live music 🎵🎶 and sit at the bar. Cheers!
Edit : we went back for another dinner, a group of 12. Food was great as usual and the lady who served us was amazing. Thanks again. Three of us stopped in for a late lunch. I had been here a lot when I was younger, but mostly got drinks. The ambience hasn’t changed, it even seemed warmer. The beer was cold and the lunch was hot. We ordered Traditional Fish and Chips, Roast Beef Stuffed Yorkie and I had a Coach Burger. All orders came in a timely fashion, hot and tasty. Although I’ve never had dinner here, I would recommend it for lunch.
Wing were good. Service was a little slow. Great atmosphere.
A forever favourite.
The meatloaf special wrapped with bacon - blown away by the flavour. Compliments to the chef! The servers are fantastic - K, A & B. We love this historic pub.
Went with the wife tonight, great food and friendly staff, we had fish & chips but saw other people s dishes that caught our eye (roast beef stuffed yorkie) that we will have to go back and try :)
Good atmosphere staff not too friendly
Pleasant
Best after work bar! Amazing staff, especially Amanda, she always takes care of the crew and we are grateful for her and the coach & lantern Kid-friendliness: Lots of family dinners with young children is a normal thing.
Great English pub. Very busy. Get there early to guarantee seats
Went on a Friday and could not get in, so I cant really rate it, but they should let people know that reservations are needed...
The place was very busy! The couple before us ended up leaving before anyone came to front desk/host area. We were greeted shortly after and told 5 to 10min wait then another server came and told us 20mins.... then it was back to 5mins. Servers were having to go down flights of stairs to bring meals and at one point two dishes were brought down and left at front desk where dirty cups and one of the servers drinks(I saw her sipping from it when she came to collect cleaner and cloth) Where sitting as well. At that point we left.
Great experience tonight. Thank you Ally for the great service!
Was in on a Saturday at lunch food was great but waited 90 minutes for food. Would go again not at lunch.
Alright so this a charming and rustic ol place. Rather popular, considering that you need a reservation. If not, the patio is always open. For parking, youll need to be across the intersection, a 30 second walk. That said, the food was brilliant. We got the Fish n Chips (brilliant) and Chicken Souvlaki (absolutely loved it). Good portions. I ordered a Guiness and Coffee. Loved em. The ambience is really good like a decent ol English Pub, though you wont find the Brit accent anywhere lol. The service was great and prompt. Id definitely recommend the place if youre looking to grab drinks n meal on a Friday night or over the weekend.
Vegetarian options: A vegetarian would be fine here. May not be my first choice but if Im with non vegetarians this is just fine. Food
Nachos were not good. 3/4 of the chips had nothing on them. Subpar food. Disappointed. Tables are too small for 3 people to eat at, yet thats how we were seated.
Great food great atmosphere great drinks love it each time. I m at the Coach And Lantern. Keep up the good work thank you so much for your service.
Fantastic experience at The Coach and Lantern! As close to a proper British pub as Ive seen on this side of the pond. Food was fabulous, our server was top notch and hilarious to boot! And they even accommodated a food allergy, which most places NEVER do! We will absolutely be back, worth the 40 minute drive from home!
Its a quaint, cozy pub. The food was really tastey. The British Curry was amazing!! Im definitely going back.
Fantastic old style pub, the beer selection is amazing for a small pub. The food was great, if in the area I recommend stopping in.
Menu is unavailable online and was very difficult to find the option to view. Why dont you have a menu option on your main website page? Why even have a website?
Went on a Wednesday evening. Didnt realize it was kids eat free night
Great patio and old English pub vibe. Food was okay.
Great food. Very old pub. The atmosphere was just what you expect for European style pub.
Wednesday is kids eat free... We picked the wrong day to go. Kids running amuck, crawling under tables... Great food, just wouldnt go on a Wednesday again. Maybe when ppl book a reservation... let them know about that special.
A lovely old pub with good food and great atmosphere.
The restaurant had unique decor, but sadly the food was very bad and low quality. Almost no one at our table was satisfied, and the staff was unprofessional. When we raised this with the manager, they didn t charge us for most of the dishes, which was the right thing to do.
Great pub atmosphere. Small saloon but really historic. Food is good but choice a bit limited. Staff are good but always seem hassled. Maybe not enough for when they are busy. Parking: Parking available close by.
I ordered the chili cheese and the steak bites for takeout and WOW, so good. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant itself, the staff was friendly. Will definitely be returning. The only downside I can comment on is parking, I m not from Ancaster so maybe I just didn t know where to look but I looped around the restaurant 3 times before I finally gave up and parked at the funeral home. Maybe better signage is needed?
Good to try
Great cultured place, with so much history. The staff was great and super friendly. Would have like to see more food options, but the options they have taste great.
As close as youll get around here to An actual pub
Food is incredible! Service could be a bit better but nothing that made our experience terrible. We got crowded into a corner which we werent impressed about.
Reuben sandwich was not up to standard. Corned beef was stale and too chewy after being reheated. Bread was over toasted and hard. Sauerkraut was the redeeming ingredient.
The steak bites were fantastic. The onion soup was a bit of a let down
We have been here twice for lunch on their patio. Have not been disappointed. Great food. Great service. Cold beer! Highly recommended.
We had the guacamole and chips, the brisket sliders, and the local IPA beer. The sliders were delicious! Soft and tasty meat. Great outdoor patio with lots of shade. Relaxing!
Love the atmosphere here. It has so much history and character. The food was quite good.
Since I visited, a couple of months ago, not 1 week goes by that I dont think about the Irish Nachos! Best nachos Ive ever had. The pub is a beautiful historical building. The staff are very friendly. Didnt meet any ghosts, but maybe on my next visit
Super friendly staff. Great menu. I had veggie burger and sweet potato fries & it was delicious. For dessert I got the sticky toffee pudding, one of the best sticky toffee puddings I ve had.
An excellent hidden away pub with great service and food!
Able to eat with our dogs on the patio. The food was good and the service was friendly and prompt. Dietary restrictions: Was able to customize my order to confirm to my dietary restrictions.
We stopped at this local bar for a drink during our trip to see waterfalls in the area. The bar looks awesome and has a lot of British influence in it. The beer was cold, the stuff was friendly, we havent tried their food, but it looked good.
I have had good meals at the Coach and Lantern, but lunch today was not memorable. The fish was heavily battered and the color of the batter and the fries showed that tge fryer oil had not been changed in some time.
The french onion soup tasted watered down and was under-seasoned. The lamb burger had way too much feta and was a bit dry. Atmosphere was nice outside.
We went late afternoon so it wasnt very crowded. The food was delicious. English curry and Shepherds pie. Waitress was friendly and professional. Decent prices.
Very good eatery. Reminds me of the European pubs. Great environment, the staff is so amazing and the Liver and onions was delicious. Definitely recommended and be back fir more. Good job Food : 5/5
The food, service, and decor were fantastic! The only negative was that they had live music when we went in and it was blistering loud, to the point that 8 of us were screaming at each other
Great place to go
If you favour sitting in a historic building enjoying a terrific lunch this is a great choice. Nestled in the heart of old Ancaster, this nearly 200 year old building makes for a nice pub style setting. There is a small outside seating area also but weather didnt permit. Service was top notch and our lunch order came quickly. We make this a regular stop more than a few times a year.
The food was delicious. We had spinach Dip, steak bites and popcorn shrimp. It was delicious and my daughter loved hhe shrimp. Service was great. We went because it was our nanas favorite restaurant. We know why.
Its a nice place to enjoy drinks and food
Stopped in as suggested on our Guess Where Trip The food was very good, the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very quaint Would recommend if you re in the area to stop in
Great food and service!
It was the weekend for our ten year anniversary and we heard from the hotel at the start of the dinner that our hotel was being cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The server happened to hear the situation and gave us great recommendations and was overall so lovely. They made our lunch visit so special and delicious. Truly an experience we wont forget. Great atmosphere with the old architecture and classic British pub look and feel. Food was 10/10, try the deep fried cheesecake for all those who can eat it! Thank you so much for the experience, we will 100% be back again! Vegetarian options: Vegan burger option
Came in on Saturday for a bite, we wanted to try based on reviews we had seen on a Facebook group we are part of. We ordered nachos , poutine and wings , everything was tasty but the nachos had almost no cheese on them so we definitely wont be ordering them again. Our server was lovely but the host was awful! Pro tip - if your restaurant is EMPTY and a 2top wants to sit at a 4top ....you should absolutely let them.
My family of 5 (3 boys under 12) went there on their kids eat free Wednesday. I love the atmosphere and coziness of the space. The patio is also very nice. We sat inside and enjoy their food and drink. The kids loved their included drink, good food, and included ice cream. The menu is English pub food at its best. The wait staff was great. Definitely not phased by our three bouncy boys. This will be a regular stop on our nights out! And the prices werent even too bad!
This place is consistently good with great service in that old style neighborhood pub atmosphere
The food was amazing and the service was spectacular, plus the vibes were great
Brought my wife there for her birthday, along with our 2 boys. Sat on the patio, and everything was exactly what we needed. A really good time!
I might be a little bias here. But we paint at the owners house way back when and we went there for dinner or lunch. Whichever and the food was way excellent. This was way back probably over 15 years ago. And a service is probably still good and the food is probably still excellent. I plan ongoing there sometime soon. And then Ill give you all adopt date.
Nice little pub tucked away in Ancaster. Inside is quaint and traditional pub style. It was a bit cold out and cool inside when we came in. They have a fireplace but it wasnt going/on or there was an issue, but it would have been nice if it was going. Great selection of beers on hand. Staff was friendly. Food was just so so, and we found lacked flavor, but that seems to be a trend in Ancaster. Might come back on one of the live music nights and give it another shot some time.
Amazing wings and menu overall, traditional pub fare that wont disappoint!
Great little pub! Great food, great vibe!
I have been coming here for about 5 years, in the beginning the food really good but sadly in the last 2 years its gone down hill. The quality of food and taste is no longer the same. Its cheap substitutes of what it use to be. It use to be great but its no longer my first choice. Service is still great, the staff is great but cheating out on food will lose customers.
Coach & Lantern is the 3rd oldest building in Ancaster and a really cool pub to visit. Visited here with my family, quite a large group & we were taken care of very well! Definitely worth a visit. Classic pub style food. Friendly service. The bar area and accents throughout the restaurant are a true time capsule.
Love the Atmosphere, staff was super friendly, but super busy. We had to reorder our food 3 times as they kept running out of what we ordered. Otherwise we will return.
Fabulous music upstairs on Saturdays. Showcasing some great talent from around the area
Its a small cozy pub with excellent food and weekly entertainment.
Super cool vibe and building, lots of character and a great atmosphere with live music on the second floor. I didnt love my meal but my husbands was decent. Definitely a good spot to grab a drink and hang out.
A nice little restaurant that used to be a house.
The Coach & Lantern has an enjoyable atmosphere, but the acoustics can make it a bit difficult to hear others if you go there with a large party, at least on their main floor. The food is quite good, I will always recommend their fish and chips in addition to the toad in the hole.
Great food, great service, however the restaurant is very dark and the furniture is uncomfortable.
I have been looking for a place in the Hamilton area with good fish and chips. The fish here was fantastic. Batter was perfect, nice and crisp not the thin soggy stuff served up elsewhere. Well done. I shall be back
Beautiful little pub with a cozy atmosphere, good beer selection and great pub food.
Its a beautifully cozy restaurant. The food is so good. We had the Ruben sandwich and fish and chips. They were both so good. They have a nice wine and beer menu too. It was a great meal and experience.
Been coming here for years and the food has never been less than stellar
Had the beef stuffed Yorkie. It was amazing Food
The restaurant was quite old & if someone likes visiting the old times/likes period drama, then visit this for sure. The servers were not in a hurry & it was okay overall. You can visit, its a nice one to just get some beers or in our case we tried the veg bean burrito & coach burger, which was good. Vegetarian options: Veggie bean burrito is one of the veg option to try & was good.
Caffreys on tap! Enough said! If you like Irish Cream Ales cant beat it but cant ever find it!! But its here. Now having live Sat afternoon shows upstairs. What a great idea.
I will give it a thousand stars if I can. Kid-friendliness: Really really nice. Food : 5/5 |
Maybe the pictures on the web site should be changed. Although the fish and chips were pretty good, the portions of fish were tiny. 20 dollars a plate was just not worth it.
I attended my neices baby shower here, it was great!! Service was above and beyond!
An English pub environment in a 200 year-old building in the center of Ancaster village. Customers were young and old. Food was delightful, with most meals costing $22.
Had a lot of expectations from this place, but the staff gave really cold behaviour not sure why.
Authentic pub with plenty of tasty pub style beer and food. Had a great keep your distance burger burger and the stuffed Yorkie was a must try too!
We had dinner here January 27th 2024. Was busy nice and busy for a saturday night, we thought we wouldnt be able to get a table but waited about 20 minutes to get our spot which was right in front of the band. We had Krista serve us and she was wonderful! We told her we just got married the night before so she comped a couple drinks for us and we were very happy and thankful. The food and drinks were great pub food! good wings fish and chips and stuffed yorkshires! We had brunch at the ancaster mill the next morning and we happened to run into Krista who recognized us right away! She was very happy to see us as the coach and lantern was having a staff party there. She took down our information and we took hers down and she planned our first year anniversary with us lol! Wonderful customer service, we are thrilled with our interactions with her. We look forward to coming back here for our 1st year anniversary. Thank you very much coach and lantern and Krista for making us feel special and remembering us!
Very cozy atmosphere. The food was good and prices were reasonable. Could use more serving staff but the ones we had did a great job.
Friends and I come here for pub night and no where else. Service is great and super friendly, menu has a great selection of pub food which is delicious, and the overall vibe and atmosphere is fantastic. Irish nachos are our tables favourite. Drinks are reasonably priced. Overall a great place to be, especially during patio season.
I love this pub!! The entrance going in has a gorgeous historic garden vibe, and the interior has a nice cozy historic feel as well. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is so delicious. Prices are a little high for some of the items but otherwise ok. There are specials most days of the week. I never leave disappointed or hungry. Love it and will always be back for more. Parking: Parking is not directly on site. There is a lot near it and sometimes its full.
Spinach dip is goated Kid-friendliness: High chairs and a happy staff. Food : 4/5 |
Dropped in for an early supper on Saturday evening. The pub was busy with several tables occupied by large groups. One section was empty but probably unstaffed, which led to crowding of the available tables. The French Onion soup was pretty much onion free, so not recommended. The bruschetta wasnt bad. My burger was average. So the food was just OK. The service was very good, both friendly and fast. The atmosphere was kinda fun, and we would have enjoyed it more if it was a casual evening of drinks. As it was dinner, I felt a little let down by the food.
Excellent meal, thank you.
Pricey for the food we got. The fries were cold snd the veggies in the stir fry were raw. Love the atmosphere otherwise.
I had my birthday here yesterday with 20+ people and they were so quick with the drinks and the food. The staff is always friendly, and so are the people in there. The music is always great and they re always doing something fun inside. The place might look old but that s how it s supposed to be I wouldn t change a thing in there, that s why we love it. This is one of my favourite places in Ancaster and this is coming from a person who owns a restaurant up the street. 5 stars on every single aspect of this place.
Great little pub to enjoy some good eats
Great food, super nice atmosphere, scary ghosts.
9 oz Glass of house white wine $19.21 tax in, plus tip at 20% is $23.00. No wonder people dont go out as often. The restaurant industry is shooting themselves in the foot.
My group rented the upper room for an evening. The wait staff were friendly, entering into conversation when appropriate. Atmosphere only 4 due to noise, but others didnt mind.
Upstairs. Great food and drinks. Cool old and classic pub atmosphere. For the amount of people that were being served compared to the number of servers, it was pretty quick! They killed it! Nice and approachable staff. The only suggestion I would provide would be in regards to hosting events upstairs. Tabs were confusing. Where the drinks and food were going was all over the place and being put on random tabs or maybe not even being accounted for? I definitely had an order be put an anothers tab and had to make sure it was put right. Guys, if you fix that, perfect. Going back regardless. Make sure you check out the history of the place before you go too! Nice work!
Service and atmosphere would be 5 star if the food was better. My husband and I, love the pubs. The Brassie Pub and Ye Old Squire are our go to places. (5 stars for both all around and Ye Old Squire is close to hear - 3 mins up the street). We usually always order the stuffed Yorkies, or Yorkie Pies. Therefore, we know the quality when it comes to them and expect this when we visit. We thought we would try coach and lantern. He had been there about 10 years ago. Used to go all the time, and was a favourite. I had never been, but looked very special. The reputation had me expecting the very best. Unfortunetly, both of us were disappointed. They were the worst roast beef stuffed yorkies we had ever had. They seemed as though they were prepared then frozen. The dough tasted this way. The vegatables were definetly frozen before hand. We also thought the slime of mushrooms and onions was gross. Again, we have good quality competitors for comparison. We dont feel we will be coming back here as first impressions are everything. (Our server was amazing, we still gave her a good tip as we normally would. It was not her fault. When she came to ask how the food was though, we should have spoken up on the spot. We didnt want to turn others off around us, as the place is very small and not as private if sitting close to others). Thats another point - we were seated at the worst table in the place. The little single table in the right hand corner in front of the bar. Perhaps other food on the menu here is great and what holds the reputation and not their Yorkies. To be honest, I think they should remove theirs from the menu if they cannot make it better or do it justice. If youd like to try York Pies, (Mmmm) go to Brassie or Ol Ye Squire. Just a heads up, last time we went to Brassie, our favorite meal was arranged oddly with mini yorkies instead of in the pie. Assuming they must had run out - although, Brassie has some new very yummy yorkie options to chose from.... including brisket yorkie. I think they had to up their game due to Ol Ye Squire and The Coach both serve Stuffed Yorkies/Yorkie Pies.
Favourite pub in Hamilton!
Love the atmosphere of this cozy pub. Server was really friendly and fun. The French onion soup that 2 of us had was awful unfortunately. Parking: Bit of a walk
Good food in a great English pub style atmosphere.
Great atmosphere. Awesome live music. Food is definitely lacking. Fish and chips in particular were not good at all.
The food is amazing! The atmosphere is great, its a really cool pub that takes me back to my time in England! Prices are a little high though.
Just alright. Nice atmosphere. Pleasant but not great service. Food very plain.
Sophie, our server, was friendly and patient... 2 friends talking & talking & talking! Thank you!
I would give a 0 if I could. We are currently in the restaurant. My husband and I sent our meals back twice. Not only were they cold but my steak and kidney pie had about an ounce of mushy meat under the crust. We were told the pies are not make in house so they have no control or input into the quality. Our waitress, Justine says there s no management on staff this Saturday dinner time to complain to. The steak and kidney pie was $22.00 for nothing but mash potatoes and peas. I never tried the mushy meat because Justine removed my plate when I started to write this review. Ha then we got the bill.
The worst meal and service I have experienced in years. The food was cold and the steak and kidney pie consist of one ounce of shredded mystery meat it was adequate at best. Never have dinner here. There was absolutely no one in charge. No manager on duty on a Saturday evening. Seriously? Avoid if at all possible.
This is my favourite pub, the food and seevice is always top notch and has the best patio. Everything is amazing but i cant stop ordering the loaded Irish nachos. Be prepared to feed 8 people if you order the nachos
The ambiance starting from the patio to the interior decor makes the Coach one of the best places to grab a pint and enjoy a meal. The Chicken wings and Nachos are top notch. The staff is super friendly. I love the Coach. BOGO Wings Tuesdays! Food
Dined in on the 12th of August, I m a regular diner! Love the food, always hot! Staff are incredibly polite and will bend over to make your visit worth it! Difficult couple, sending the food back, complaining about everything and the staff handled it with grace and dignity, even complimenting the meal. Personally I think that is what they wanted, have seen it before. Best place to visit!!!
Best wings in Ontario. Amazing people amazing building.
Great English style pub with tasty grub and of course the classic cod & chips, my favourite. Come and enjoy!
Always great good amazing staff and great service .
Have been back regularly through the years. Its a tight, cozy pub tucked in the back. Its always fun to visit. Its not your high-end pub. Theres always a bit of roughness to it, but thats what you want in a pub. Food is usually good! And the beer is always great. Service is slow, but whatever. Just go when its less busy! Will be back again
Such a cute place to pop in for a drink & food. Good beer menu and delicious food! Both times we went had live music (Thursday & Sunday)
I discovered a true hidden gem right in front of my hotel during my three-day visit to Hamilton. The ambiance instantly transports you to the vibrant streets of Londons West End. Surprisingly, the British cuisine here surpasses even the flavours found in London itself. Without fail, every time Im in Hamilton, a visit to this place is a must on my itinerary.
Busy. Get a reservation
The ambiance is very cool, old British pub kind of vibe, good live entertainment. Would have given 5 stars but the service was very slow
Amazing Pub with the most lovely staff and food! First time there but won t be our last!
Coach and Lantern is the best spot to have a cozy drink and relax. They have amazing nachos!! Make sure to reserve a table on the weekend to guarantee a spot. Have been going to coach and lantern for years.
Food wasnt very fresh. Mashed potatoes seemed to have been sitting for a while in the kitchen. Lamb butger was dry and overcooked. Atmosphere was good.
We love this restaurant. Its always fantastic food. The atmosphere is awesome. The staff and service are excellent.
Drinks and food were yummy. Inside is quite worn down and the floor is quite uneven. The courtyard is pretty.
Great little spot in Ancaster
Nice patio, beautiful inside. Nice old building. Reuben was very good! Steak bites were ok, a bit of gristle which I dont love. Would recommend. Food : 4/5
Loved it! And the little patio is gorgeous
The Shepards pie is delicious! Have reservations or be there early on Mondays
This place is apparently haunted! Our server did an incredible job of sharing some of her experiences. The haunter is supposed to be a middle aged man in old looking farm hand attire who sits at the bar in the far corner. We didnt see him, but it was also the middle of the day. The food was standard pub fare, the portion sizes were above average. The fries were good.
Great live Blues Sat. afternoon.
Cozy pub atmosphere. Generous portions. Friendly service. Definitely recommend it.
Very busy little pub. Love the decor. The food was hot and delicious. I ordered the beef dip and fries. Nice flavour. Crispy fries.
Had a lovely late lunch. Great atmosphere!
Eat at a haunted restaurant ~ check
We had dinner here Saturday night for our ladies wknd (7 of us), and it did not disappoint. Krista our server, was very helpful and amazing! Great food and atmosphere.
Good food and service
Worst liver bacon and onions I have ever had Nov 12/23, for lunch, it was like they put it in a blender and served it how disgusting is that. Most people dont like liver but I love it. And lunch time it was charged as a dinner. I wont be going back
Adorable pub in the heart of Ancaster.
I had the most enjoyable experience at the Coach and lantern with my friends yesterday. Our waitress was incredible..best and friendliest waitress Ive had for..so long. I mentioned she should train waiters/ waitresses at other restaurants. Its such a comfy and welcoming atmosphere..with great food. Lately the other restaurants Ive gone to have been so disappointing.. Congratulations Coach and lantern for your service and food..
Every time I come here it s always great! Love the food, drinks and great service. Having been to the UK it is the closest you ve an get to a true pub in Hamilton!
Must check food and service were impeccable
Love the atmosphere at this place. Its the most charming pub.
A great spot !
THE CHEAP APPETIZERS ARE UNDEFEATED
Went for Monday night trivia. Had a great time and some cheap pints, will definitely be back!
Amazingly delicious!
Our server Amanda, was so nice and attentive. The food was so delicious and the restaurant is so unique looking
Vegetarian options: English curry is my go to (the spicy version is HOT which I love, regular is good too). Food
Good basic pub grub. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It was quite busy even though we were there on a Monday night. We had not made reservations so we ended up sitting at the bar.
