Went for trivia. Trivia was great well hosted and great questions. Unfortunately, the good things I can say ends there. I had the New York pizza and for a restaurant that has the oven they do and specifically say they use san marzano tomatoes, it s just bad. Super floppy, over powering sauce, and somehow awful tasting and looking cheese. I shared the pizza with everyone at the table and each one of them said it was terrible. I also tried my friends wings which he said were bad and I have to agree they were quite tasteless. Hope this improves.

The food offered has taken a nose dive recently where the burgers were on fire to sad meat patties. Great chicken wing to barely there wings. The cost of cocktails has doubled. Mmmm, wondering if under new management/ owners?

I love the royal with cheese. Burger is flavorful juicy and the fries are fresh cut not frozen.

Was amazing. Went for my son s birthday and staff were polite, professional and very very busy. The Orangeman band was good, but way too loud for the venue. It was hard to even hear the person beside you, you had to yell pretty much even close to the other person. I can t remember the name of our server, but she made the night memorable for us. Thank you! Wheelchair accessibility: It s not very wheelchair accessible friendly.

Visited with a group, we were told specials are only offered in the main pub not the back room, whatever the difference is. Then automatically added a 20% service charge to each bill.

Come out and support this place some construction on roads but still allows local access. Worth the trip!

Went for lunch with 12 other Red Hat ladies today. Fish and chips were half price but chips and fish were very dark and looked like cooked in oil that should have been changed. Wont order again as it was more batter than fish.Live music by Behind the Woodpile Band was excellent. Good service.

Went for the first time tonight. I got the Big Dill burger. OMG!!!!!! Ill be back for another.

Edit: I emailed the owner who acknowledged the mistake and refunded the differential. Shortchanged! Ask before you order. So, you walk-in after seeing the specials on their website only to not get them in their bill. I probed and got told the drink specials are only from 1pm to 4pm even though their website, on this day, calls the drink specials out as ALL Day.

Perpetually out of popular beers on tap, kids burgers cooked rare. Unchewable buns, long wait times.

We are regulars at this little gem in Ancaster . We ordered takeout , wings and pizza . Staff was courteous friendly . Order was placed food ready on time , staff very nice , helpful and attentive , not to mention they were extremely busy being it was a band matinee . Our food was piping hot , delicious as always . Best wings and awesome pizza . If you haven t tried Pub Fiction your missing out . Always a great meal . One of our favourite Pubs

To be fair, it was a busy night. Service was rather slow...Maybe they got swamped and no one told the. There was going to be a celebration that night. Liked the karaoke and the atmosphere. Food

The burger was delicious

This pub is very under staffed. I felt sorry for the servers as they took the brunt of the complaints. My food took over 2 hours to arrive, others in my group had an even longer wait. I had fish and chips, fish was great, hot with lots of flavour but the chips were cold and dry. The atmosphere is very nice, live bands. It was a lot of fun. The owner needs to hire more staff in the kitchen and the dining room to make the experience a lot nicer. Will not return for food but possibly for a drink when there is a live band.

The only good thing about this place was the band. Stone the Radio had amazing energy and got people up dancing We had a blast with them! HOWEVER Our waitress was lifeless. She was rude and slow, and even though we tried to be friendly with her, she barely smiled and she made us feel like we were putting her out with every order. The worst part is, we specifically asked her for separate bills and she not only put everything on one bill, she refused to split it up afterwards. My guess is that she wanted the 18% party gratuity, which would mean she really didn t have to put in any effort, but we re adults in our 40 s and 50 s and didn t need to be treated like cheap kids. We ended up having to figure out a $773 bill the next day! The only other thing worth mentioning is the food. The nachos were ridiculous. They were tiny, and they had nothing on them A few little bits of tomato and black olives, some soft lettuce shreds, and hardly any cheese. They also came out burnt. We were so disappointed, and they cost $25.99. We actually sent them back, and the second one came out almost identical to the first. We will never go back to this place, and we highly recommend thinking twice before you make any plans there. Just brutal.

Terrible waitress, cold, unfriendly and seemed bitter at the world!!! The chicken wing drumsticks were RAW with blood oozing out of all of them. Absolutely disgusting experience. Very disappointed & will never come back or recommend!!!!!!

Lunch 1-4, listened to the Saturday band We had a wonderful experience , our server Denise was outstanding , professional, fun, happy and most of all loves the customers, We both had burgers , they were full of flavour and served hot ! My friends and I waited an hour and a half for a simple dish. It was nachos that was expensive. $30 for nachos $4.50 for chicken added. Terrible service. Waitress was rude. Probably will never go back. Not worth 18% tip. But all in all the band was good. So be careful if youre a big group.

Ive been here with my family a couple times and both times have been great. The wings and especially the pizza is my go to and this place didnt disappoint. The atmosphere is great and I cant wait to come back to see the live music!

Was understaffed. Forgot part of order. Even the sign in front was halfway so it didnt say seat yourself or wait to be seated.

We waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, it was inedible. I ordered fish and chips, and there was only about 2 inches of fish, the rest was all batter, very overcooked and really hard, as were the fries. I never complain, but I did this time. At least they were good enough to take my meal off my bill. Im not sure what the problem was, but it was not terribly busy and there plenty of staff.

I came all the way from the east coast to visit friends in London. Someone suggested this place and said I ll feel right at home with the live music. Naturally, I looked at the reviews. These must have been written by die hard fans and friends. They re totally misleading. The food wasn t fit for human consumption and the prices were something I would expect from the finest restaurants in St. John s! I ve never met more rude servers. Now for the entertainment. If your idea of being entertained is to listen to geriatrics and a talentless blimp on the accordion, let me suggest you have a few pints before doing so. I m from the east coast, I would know what east coast music should sound like, certainly nothing what these fraudulent pensioners were trying to pass of. They reminded me of wannabe musicians left behind from the 1960 s. There s a good reason why they didn t make it then. This place badly needs a thorough cleaning, a new chef, wait staff, management, or better, a demolition!

First time coming here they served my friend cold fish and chips he got sick this is not right cook must check the food before serving

Never been here before ordered a bottle of beer. gave bartender $10. She asks me if I want my change. Insay yes I dont know how much it is. She gives me $3 change. I dont like people assumingwhat you want to tip especially without knowing how much it is. Give me my change and Ill decide what Im leaving for a tip. If this is what your staff does you best change your service

Had the pleasure of attending @FreedomTrain last night at Pub Fiction. The place was packed of mature nice people. The service was great, friendly and professional. I gave 4 stars but if they remove the stupid car on the dance floor I ll raise it to a 5. It is seating for about 6 but takes up half the dance floor. It s a cool booth but placed in another out of the way spot. But I will go back for another fun time and share this location when people....where do you go? Ok update here. Went back last night to McFly s great band packed house. But now there were 2 tables right on the dance floor. And the one table the lady looked at her cell phone the entire night sitting right in front of the band. It was a buzz kill. When you ve a packed reserved house, you should clear the dance floor so there s lots of room as we all want to dance. And I noticed some wanted to dance, but there was no room or they didn t wanna dance in the hallway. Great place will be back again. Hopefully the tables won t be there.

Great pub..great atmosphere!

Went here on a Friday night and I have some mixed feelings. The food & drink was quite good, we just shared 2 apps - the shrimp and the Spinach Dip and tried a few of the signature cocktails. Our waitress was younger and she was clearly inexperienced, she made the dinner fairly awkward for us and the service wasnt up to par. They had live music which was cool, but it was so unbelievably loud i couldnt hear a word of our converation. I may come back because the food was great but i wouldnt go out of my way to make a trip here.

Very very slow service, deadly slow. Arrived at 6:30ish. Ordered drinks and waited 30 minutes or more to get. Finally food order taken but it took almost 90 minutes to arrive. No mention on menu that ceaser salad was an additional cost so that was an expensive and unexpected addition to the bill.

We went on a Saturday night. The food was tasty, atmosphere was right, the servers and bar staff were great, the place was packed and the band was on fire. We stayed five hours.

Cat is an amazing server. She is friendly, welcoming, quick and knowledgeable. She is definitely someone who enjoys what she does and it shows. The food is great and the prices are still great and reasonable. Thursday nights are fun, with the live music and sing-a-long. I would recommend! Great place to sit and catch up with friends or just enjoy a drink after a long day at work.

Nice place, but expensive!

Fired pizza oven, great atmosphere with nice servers, daily deals, cozy patio. Prices are good. They also let us sit on the patio with our very small dog. Gotta love pet friendly patios!

The one star review is due to the server being polite and apologetic over the lack of food and drink availability, failing that I wouldnt even give the place one star. First 3 beer choices were unavailable, no wings or dry ribs on wing and dry rib night, ordered 2 piece fish and chips, 5 mins later sorry we only have one piece of fish, but we can do something on the side like salad or poutine no problem, poutine is fine (later on find out I was charged an additional $9 for the poutine!) Every one of the kids meals was wrong and we had to switch around at the table, ordered 3 kids cheeseburgers, one with no cheese(bill comes and its an extra $2 for cheese!, on a cheeseburger) kids drinks are supposed to be included with some having $1 refills, we were charged $1 per kids drink, no refills were requested, in fact one kid asked for orange juice which took over 20 mins to get, at which point he had already finished his meal if you could call it that. Place is dirty across the board and looks more like a local biker dive bar than an establishment charging over $10 a beer. When it first opened it was an ok place, now it is a hard pass, save your $$$ and choose elsewhere, there are a lot of options around, unfortunately this place falls short in all aspects of a an enjoyable meal out with family.

Most of the beers on draft were out, and had to play the game of Ill have this beer were out of that one ok, Ill have that beer out of that one too to the point of asking which beers they actually had. The same happened for the food. Appetizer was forgotten. Food was passable, but the fries were not. All in all a disappointing visit.

Was there for trivia Wednesday night, 09/13. A welcoming staff when you walk in. Good food, Our server was great to deal with. Her name was Marianne. I could be wrong regarding the name, I tend to foolishly forget names, especially the ones with XX chromosomes. Be back next Wednesday.

Weve visited twice now. The pizza was great, and the burger was great. My girlfriend appreciated their vegetarian options and loved the cauliflower bite wrap. Well be back!

The food prices are way too high ! Expect less orders for food. Businesses have to swallow some.of the profits to stay alive. If not ? They close. I have cut back on my regular visits to restaurants based on these higher prices. So they have a choice. Swallow profits or suffer from lower food orders.

Went to see the band CRANK very good then a wedding broke out and 28yr old air guitarists had us in stitches

From first experience years ago, thought it was average roadhouse pub grub. Had to give better rating over last few times there. Over years noticed great menu options and they do a very nice job, experienced server, great service. Been again since, they do not disappoint. Fish n chips were great. Others in group had other dishes and everyone in our party was happy with their meals and drinks and service.

Came in with family waited over an hour for apps and dinner .the restaurant was not busy .i told waitress that this is ridiculous and told her to give me the bill for the drinks and she brought the bill for even the food that hasnt came out yet ....then the owner or manager said the food is ready and came out cold and only took off $10 off our bill . I wouldnt recommend this place rude staff horrible experience.

I went here on Tuesday with my riding brothers for dinner and some beers. The food, staff and atmosphere was amazing. The food is top notch and they have a great menu with something for everyone. The staff were awesome and brought everything out quickly as well as check on us frequently. We never had to ask for anything, they were always on top of it. The atmosphere in this place is sweet as well. We sat on the patio which is also nice, but inside was decked out. My brothers and I all agreed that next time we are out riding that way, we are definitely stopping here again for a bite and some beers. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Check them out! You wont be disappointed.

Great meal, great service! I came to Pub Fiction to see the live music, and I had dinner as well. Kaitlyn, my server, was friendly, polite, professional, and made some really good recommendations. I started off with the Jalepeno Poppers, which were nicely crispy on the outside. The cheese, sauce and peppers were also nicely cooked, and the buttermilk ranch dipping sauce accentuated everything nicely. Based on Kaitlyns recommendation, I ordered the Cubano sandwich for my main, with onion rings for the side. The sandwich was perfectly cooked, and the meat and toppings really made this sandwich stand out. Would definitely order it again! All in all, delicious meal and friendly service!

For the past few years have been seeing a lot of advertisements for the pub. We were looking forward to experiencing a new place. Three of us visited on a Wednesday evening and were disappointed with the customer service, food presented and lengthy wait times for meals. We arrived at the pub at 550pm and our meal came out at 720pm. The waitress took our drink menu, delivered them and took our meal order shortly after. After that she did not check in on us. It was difficult to get the attention of the wait staff they kept walking by but would not make eye contact. Once the food came out it was cold, one of the appetizers had 4 crackers presented only with the dip. It seemed from observing the regular customers were being favoured over tables. When it was time to pay the bill we had to ask for it several times and then ask again to bring the machine over. They did not really seem to care/appreciate. It was not busy night upon arrival. When we existed at 830pm then it was getting busy for trivia night.

What an absolutely fabulous night we had on Saturday celebrating my husbands 50th! The band were awesome and we danced the night away. Huge love and thanks to Kaitlyn for her friendly attentive service, Kaitlyn you did amazing and made our night even better - thank you from all of us. We will be back soon

Where do I start. First the band was good. The food tasted good. It took 1 hour to get our appetizer. The waitress didn t have a clue how to smile or be nice. And ready. We ordered a calzone. Which is $3 up charge from pizza. We asked for sauce for the dry calzone and 25 minutes later a tub of 2 oz sauce showed up. We were done eating by then. Then the bill came ready.,. $4 for the spit of red sauce which we didn t use. I said wow! And the waitress says yeah that s what we charge. So maybe you could have told us that. RIPOFF. Won t be back.

We went on Friday with some friends. The band playing was great and the drinks were good. Unfortunately for the service, I could tell the server was overwhelmed. She was working the bar and the neighboring tables so I can understand how overwhelming that can get. First she forgot my husbands drink, and after a reminder brought it out. Then, she never put in one of my friends orders for food. This happens sometimes but what made it worse was that she never apologized for that mishap nor did they offer to comp her meal, when it did finally come out, after everyone else at the table had finished eating. Understandably my friend was upset and wont be back but Id consider giving them another shot.
