We went for a work dinner, asked for a quiet corner and it was sublime! Perfect service, food was delicious, enough parking. We really enjoyed ourselves!
Food was good, the seafood linguine were kinda plain, duck was very good and so were the frog legs, calamari was good also but it’s very hard to miss. Although it’s not the place with the best or special food, our family likes to go there but my personal opinion is that the food taste kinda bland. Also the seat and everything is destroyed, maybe they should change the seats… also saw a small bug on it looking like a bed bug…maybe they should cover them with an other material…
Group of 3 people for dinner. We were welcomed nicely at the door. We were seated upon arrival and the restaurant was not busy. I was a little surprised as we waited a long time before we were greeted by our waitress. It was approximately 15 minutes. The table next to us arrived 10 minutes after us are greeted and served water before us by the same waitress. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. We order calamari for an appetizer and it tasted good. We had 2 orders of their ribs and fries and 1 order of their mussels and fries. The portion of their mussels was very generous. They tasted okay. Their french fries were cold and flat. As fries cool down, the water starts to move out of the crystals and you loose the fluffy texture. I did not want to ask for other fries as all our plates had fries that were served in the same condition. The only way to eat them is to load on the ketchup, and then it becomes acceptable. As for their ribs the only thing you could taste was the sauce that was slapped on top of them. They were extremely dry and had no taste. They were not easy fall of the bone. Ribs should be cooked at low temperature and slowly. These ribs were cooked on high and fast, and they became dry. Remember this for ribs, low and slow not high and dry. I would not recommend this restaurant based on their service and terrible food. For the prices they charged, I would have expected better service and better food quality. This is my honest review that should warn other clients of my experience. I will never go back to this restaurant.
First our waitress Veronique welcomed us with a genuine smile and a VIP service. The food was incredible as well as dessert. It was my birthday diner and it was the perfect place. You can BYOW!!

Ample parking, Restaurant very clean . I had an experience waiter to serve me . Appetizer eggplant 🍆 Parmigiano, excellent 👌. Main course rack Of Lamb with rosemary Gravy , delicious, they do serve a big potion of lamb . Sides grilled vegetables And baby potatoes 🥔 Cheers Mike
Visited a few weeks ago and honestly, the experience left to be desired. First of all, let me start by saying that the woman I spoke with on the telephone was wonderful (owner’s wife). We should be so lucky as to always come across ‘nice’ customer service people like her. She took the time to speak with me and advise regarding vegan options. Was kind enough to accommodate a reservation for 4 people a couple of hours before the actual reservation. Upon arrival, I saw that the restaurant was running at full capacity. It was very loud (but to be expected). We were seated on the second floor. The carpeting on the stairs was old, used and looked dirty (maybe because it was used??) I mean really . . . just change it! First impression was not great. We were seated without any delay so that was a plus. Sadly, the positive ended there. Once we ordered, it took one full hour to get served. I did enjoy my pasta dish but the veal dishes left to be desired. Firstly, the meat was hard and chewy and secondly, the veal plates came with a side of pasta - the pasta was ice cold and not dressed at all. The one picture shown at least has some sauce that could be mixed into the pasta if desired. The other veal dish (not shown, meat was with red sauce) had no extra sauce at all so pasta was left uneaten (cold and completely dry – as though drained and put on the plate!). We also requested pasta for our vegan daughter (not pictured). The waiter said ‘no problem’, we will hold the cheese. He went on to proudly say that the pasta dishes were very good because they use a chicken soup base in the recipe. I countered ‘so it isn’t vegan’? He was confused - not a clue as to what vegan meant. I believe that if you are in the food service industry, you should be a little knowledgeable with respect to these special requests as these are becoming more and more popular options. He assured me that he put in a special request for my daughter to dress her pasta with tomato sauce only (did he? 🤷🏻♀️). Anyhow, the reason we visited this restaurant is because we had a gift card. We will definitely not be returning.
It was a very enjoyable meal. All the dishes that were ordered were cooked to perfection and portions were large! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful.
Good bring your own wine restaurant. - The gourmet poutines are good. Tried tue one with filet mignon and it was worth it. - Your usual pasta menu. The food is good but adding parmesan and salt helps as it kind of fade although it’s not unsavoury. - Ambiance is classic and relaxed. - Staff is nice and courteous but small negative point is that I’m not sure of they all know how to properly open a bottle of wine as mine was massacred.
Slightly chaotic for the service. Communication between servers did not seem to be there. The time between arrival and distribution of water and bread was almost at the same time as the meal. You have to ask the waiters who pass by to get something, for example a coffee but dont bring sugar and cream. The meal was excellent. Better communication and monitoring would have made the difference.
Extremely disappointed... The meal had no taste. The salmon had no taste, rice was not cooked, we were not even offered water and so on... And the service was very poor, the waitress was in our face demanding that we give her a 15% tip. Ps I gave her 10% according to her it wasnt enough. I really dont plan to go back, I dont recommend the LAcadémie restaurant at the Galeries dAnjou. If I could not give stars.
Cold and uncooked meal, sticky mold perfect for poisoning, forced to change meals, no follow-up on reservations, very dirty toilets, very disappointing experience. Romantic dinner impossible with groups constantly entering, the noise is infernal. Im not ready to go back.

Todays pizza was bland and tasteless... the dough was very soft and poorly cooked. Really very disappointing for the price however the service is impeccable.
I had the duck confit and my daughter had the filet mignon with port, it was not edible. We asked for water several times, eventually we left the restaurant without it being brought to us. Dissatisfied with the service and the meal. I wont go back there.

I really liked the fried squid and the lasagna. Everyone enjoyed their meal except one person who thought their pasta was missing something. The server was very friendly. Isnt what it used to be.
Family restaurant is always very well received by the owners and staff. The waiters, what more can I say, are always very helpful. Very good food we always take the table dhôte which comes with a soup or salad main meal is Coffee. Parking is not a problem, plenty of space. A plus you can also bring your wine or beer. Always better to make a reservation.

The Anjou Academy has always been very good. But last night, the Hungarian waiter who served us was really on target. Outstanding service, kindness, funny, very professional . I highly recommend it and for the food, as usual, nothing to say other than that everything was very good. And the owner of the restaurant who comes to see us at the end of dinner to make sure everything went well This restaurant and their employees are truly charming . 5 stars well deserved .!!!

I am a regular customer of this restaurant and I am never disappointed by the mussels, tuna, pasta etc. I usually only come in the evening. For the first time I came for lunch and had ribs. What a desappointment! Essentially boiled ribs with bbq sauce on top. Soft fries that surely had been fried a long time ago and only reheated. In short, an inexpensive table dhôte meal ($20) with a good hearty salad as a starter but a meal that is not worthy of a restaurant. If you do it, do it well, according to the rules of the art, that is to say with a BBQ grilled finish, or not at all. However, the service is always excellent and the place is bright. And being able to bring your own wine is a must. Wheelchair accessibility: The first floor is accessible, as are the toilets

I had reserved a pair of tables for my wedding last 20th June and ended up at the wrong tables despite having precised which ones I wanted. The server dropped food on my mothers back, and the food was honestly bland and overcooked. I couldnt speak with 2/3 of my wedding guests since we were split in three distant tables rather than having the ones were supposed to have and that WE RESERVED. Ill never go back to this place and I dont recommend it for anyone.

I had pasta carbonara it was so tasteless pasta was over cooked and I had mentioned it before ordering and the sauce was like boiled cream no taste no spices . Extremely disappointed with the quality and service ok not more . Very commercial there lucky because there well situated with parking in Anjou .

It had been a few years since I went to the academy since the last time was disappointing. This time, my experience has reconciled me and I am very satisfied. It was delicious and very pleasant. I will go back soon! Great !

they refuse a 2 person at 6 p.m. and ask to reserve in advance while the reservation system never gives a reservation at 6 p.m.... no restaurant with that much room should refuse a 2..... especially since we saw plenty of room ... very disappointed

I didn t expect much from l academie, having not been impressed from going there many years ago, but somehow it has gotten even worse. This Anjou location has a 3.8 star rating on Google, and is somehow the highest rated location. Crazy that this chain is still around after all this time with such terrible reviews and nothing being done to address it. Food is overpriced, and the service we received from our server was well below average. Appetizers were alright.
The waiter dared to insult me because the tip was 15%. I didnt have access to give the 15%. I said I had $5 in cash. he told me if you cant give the 15% after meals, its best not to come to the restaurant.

Very bad service (received my bloody Caesar in a wine glass ) lots of noise and the food is ordinary. I strongly advise against a one-on-one dinner and for a group you will eat better at St Hubert or Casa Grecq for less money.

We entered the restaurant with a reservation, being told to come up, without being shown our table. After finding our table. We sit down and order. The service is very, very average, very cold. We chose the garlic bread and crab cakes as a starter and the fettuccine alfredo as our main meal. The starters were ok and the main meal was very bland, it didnt taste much. Since we were not satisfied with the service we left a tip of less than 15% and to end the evening well we were shouted at by the waiter that our tip left was not satisfactory, without good evening or without asking if our evening had gone well. Remember that tipping is suggested, it is not obligatory and it is our right to choose the amount we give based on the service we received

The service is really very long. The duck breast is really nothing exceptional, very small portion, almost non-existent accompaniment. As for the taste, nothing notable. Considering the price its still disappointing. Too bad, the place is beautiful and tempting.

We ordered take out yesterday on New Years Eve. Delighted to say that the food was well prepared, warm and delicious. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet dinner at home. I must add to this review a dine in experience. My good friend and I had dined in the restaurant 2 weeks or so ago. Service was very, very slow. Though our server was very, very nice. My meal, always order the liver dish, was very unappealing and disappointing. I accepted the dish as it was already too late and I was overly famished. My meal should have been compted!
Starter very good my girlfriend had the pasta it was excellent I had the filet mignon it was perfect just the carrots were not cooked but otherwise everything else was very good, our server was very nice, its just right too bad he didnt admit that the carrots werent cooked (Im a chef)
La personne qui a desservi notre table a emporté la bouteille de vin dans laquelle il restait approx deux verres à boire. Inacceptable. Le crabe nétait pas suffisamment cuit dans lentrée. Le magret de canard était gris, beaucoup trop cuit. On nous a offert un café gratuit en compensation. Nous ne répéterons pas lexpérience de ce resto.

Overcooked flank steaks and veal escalope portion, good taste but much too small for the price: $32 + taxes + tip. Before: 3 normal pieces (thickness and cellular format). Now: 1 piece cut in 2, but super thin. When you order meat, you expect a normal portion. Savvy waiter responds like this now. Plus it was the birthday meal for the birthday girl. Nothing offered to correct. Too bad, our family has been coming to this restaurant for a long time...
J avais un peu une crainte d y allé au début vue les avis google mais franchement, nous avons pris le carré d agneau et les moules roqueforts et les deux plats étaient vraiment délicieux. Je suis très difficile en plus pour avoir travaillé en cuisine dans plusieurs restaurants. Le service était aussi rapide et les prix sont vraiment raisonnable.

Not impressed with the wait time on food and service. It took a long time for our waiter to arrive to our table. Not sure if they were low on staff, but it wasnt pleasant for a first experience. Drinks and food took forever. The pasta was extremely bland and flavorless. The mussels were good. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and the decor is beautiful, BUT I wouldnt recommend this spot unless you have a lot of time to burn.

I invited a great friend to the LAcadémie Anjou restaurant. Disappointed, Duck Breast 39.00 impossible to cut the almost red meat even with a serrated knife. Hard vegetables, friend had asked for Uncooked Veal Kidneys, impossible to cut with a serrated knife and impossible to chew even the vegetables. It was a special occasion. Seniors Day and it was her birthday. Cost $83.93 very disappointed. I will never return to this restaurant.

Good service even with limited staff. Not all smiling but good. My piece of beef had a sinew in it like my neighbors. The fries had simmered a little too long in the oil. The broccoli-blue cheese soup was good though.

If dining among the elderly suits you, this restaurant is a good alternative to fast food in terms of prices. The food is relatively good and the service is excellent. Dietary restrictions: We are sensitive to it even if there is no dish specifically indicated on the menu.

Cold food and half orders. While the venue is beautiful, the experience was ruined by the bad food and the extremely slow service. We arrived at 4 and left at 8 for mains and a coffee. Dietary restrictions: Not friendly for anyone with allergies. While allergic to potatoes the server offered fries in lieu of the potatoes .
Its big positive point is that it brings your wine. The service is quite dismal, no water, asked for the same things 2-3 times because it never happens. Lots of groups on Sunday so also very noisy. I imagine that the lack of personnel comes into play. The food, nothing fantastic, nothing really disgusting either, often more beautiful than good. At 3 stars, I really have no choice but to return there.
