Whiskey Bird is a casual spot in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland/Morningside neighborhood serving Pacific Rim-inspired dishes and classic cocktails.
I like to wait a time or two before posting a restaurant review, but golly, we will absolutely will be back; Asian fusion cuisine style menu. food note: from skillet to plate to expo line, then immediately to the table provided by team members whom are on top of service. Noted + noticed that the food doesn’t hang out under the heat lamps long at all. PS the bar seats are where it’s at, friendly, + very knowledgeable in food and drink. Too genuine conversations shared. Details to note: -restaurant offers a picture of their food online with the menu, catches the eye. -drink menu features their glass vessel in drawing format next to cocktail. -allergies noted all throughout the menu -pics provide what we got!
Literally googled food near me and when I saw the pictures on Google it was an immediate yes ! I truly enjoyed the tuna tacos with mango, avocado, and cucumbers. The crunch in every bite was so crunchy. And boy do I love a good crunch. Yum 😋 Oh and the Chicken Bao , very savory. Not too heavy and just delicious. Truly appreciate the menus options. Coming from a girl who doesn’t eat quite a few things. Thank you, even the customers was a joy to be around.
We decided to take my mom there for one of her 80th birthdays and arrived early before the rush. There were no tables available to seat 8 because of future reservations but the two hostesses found a comprise that worked for us. We were off to a good start. Our waitress was Tommy...she brought some great energy and pleasant to work with. Ordered the taco appetizers. SOOOO good...wanted more but held off. Tommy suggested for me the salad and noodle combo.....way better than expected. Think salad with steak and Asian infused flavor with noodles....somehow made it all work beautifully together. We finished with a couple desserts like the brownie and pinneapple cake....perfect evening for my whole family!
Asian fusion restaurants in Virginia highlands! This is a must try bunch place. Cute atmosphere with patio and inside options. I did not make a reservation but I was able to get a booth on Saturday around 2:00p.m All staffs were friendly & knowledgeable. Highly recommend trying their starter. First you must try their tacos! They have tuna or chicken options. Their house made crispy gyoza taco shells are amazing. I ordered PERUVIAN CHICKEN GYOZA TACOS . It is two small pieces and it makes the brunch definitely more enjoyable. I read a lot of good reviews about CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS and it was actually my favorite dish of all. It was kind of like Okonomiyaki but flavorful yet crispy & crunchy. For the main, we ordered AVOCADO TOAST with grilled chicken and FRITTATA-YADA-YADA. Avocado toast you can get anywhere and it was nothing special but frittata yada yada was fun experience. I felt like it was a fusion omelette! It was so fluffy & soft and yummy m! I want to try bao Benedict next time or their burgers. They also offer many different drinks non alcohol and alcohol so check it out! I am willing to return for dinner menu.
I met a couple of friends for brunch on Sunday. We made a reservation for 1pm. There were plenty if seats at the bar. We chose to have a drink while we waited on our 3rd person. The bar tender gave us great drink recommendations and even went as far to give us suggestions on food. Josie's choices were right on point. We shared the CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS -fried egg, bacon, chinese vinegar, wb sauce, takoyaki, bonito. What a combination. All of the textures and blend of sauces were on point. I shared the BAO BENEDICT- poached eggs, chicken sausage, smoked gouda fondue, bao bun, side greens and FRIED CHICKEN & BUBBLE WAFFLE- bubble waffle, buttermilk fried chicken, strawberries, mango, maple syrup. The twist on these dishes are worth the share to be able to experience them both. The Caribbean iced coffee was a sneak attack surprise. I don't do iced coffee but this was AMAZING. The service was timed just right. The food was nice and hot upon arrival and a sizable portion. This good is NOT basic. They have signature dishes and drink syrups that set their food apart and gives their adult beverages that extra special flavor that cannot be duplicated. $14
The sticky chicken and chicken meatballs were okay; tuna tartare serving was a little small; prefer the shishitos peppers blistered only and without the aioli; chicken gyoza tacos were their best dish; Hong Kong sliders are good; cauliflower is good but prefer less gouda fondue; bourbon glazed salmon was filled with too much glaze in my bowl; panko chicken were too thin (I couldn’t taste the chicken). Their menus look rather appealing and would return to try their lunch/brunch.
Our server was kind and the food was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, all but one meal was fairly room temperature so we wondered how long our other meals had been waiting. The Green Eggs & Salm had a smaller portion of salmon and a lot more egg than we’d expected. The Hong Kong Chicken & Waffles was not well seasoned. The breakfast sandwich was very good and the Fried Chicken Burrito would’ve been much better served hot.
I had an amazing time here!! It was a whole experience! The atmosphere was cute and amazing. The aroma had me ready to eat! Our server broke down the menu to us with her speech and I had no extra questions! Then we tried the food and were in awe! I had to save the tacos for last! The food just kept getting better. 😍🤤 🗣️Ask for Ri when you go!
I don t understand the hype. This place was on our list for a while but overall it was very mid. My husband and I both found the food pretty bland. Both the grouper sandwich and sesame chicken would be inedible if not for hot sauce. I can t believe how much the meal was to be just kind of passable. Maybe breakfast is better. I think Fishmonger and the Optimist have much better fish for a comparable price, and probably anywhere would have better chicken. There are many better restaurants of all cuisines with lower ratings than this place. I honestly feel other reviewers are tripping or following the herd. Personally, I won t be back. It was meh. I m sorry to the owners, but that s just my feeling.
Whiskey Bird is a reliably great dining experience. It s like fine dining but not pretentious and the portions are more generous. The brussel sprouts are unreal. WB is in my rotation, so I ll definitely be back over and over again.
Found this cute spot on Google for our Christmas brunch. Service was excellent, food was yummy, did not disappoint!
Food
Esteban was amazing. Great energy and very helpful.
They changed the cauliflower and it is not good. Everything else was on point!
Loved my meal and service!
Amazing! So good. I love the themed christmas drinks and the chopped salad is best in town. They also have happy hour which RULES
Best Brunch in Atlanta
Great spot!! Im with a foodie and he is having about this spot. So, definitely check it out. Service was phenomenal.
One of our regular spots, never disappoints. Great food and friendly service Kid-friendliness: Waffle and fruit is an easy win Food : 5/5 |
Love the food and the great service as always.
The food was excellent and so was the service. The french fry appetizer with spicy Japanese mayo was amazing. They also offer a wide selection of specialty cocktails. This restaurant is popular, so consider reserving a table to avoid waiting. I would definitely come here again.
This is our go-to for elevated healthy food Parking: Easy parking Kid-friendliness: Great for kids!
Wonderful experience overall! Dietary restrictions: There are gluten and lactose free options if you inquire. The waitress was very considerate about our needs as well Parking: Parking was across the street but not difficult or far away
Jack was wonderful!
We are here and they were having their home alone themed menu. I had their filthy animal drink. It is awesome.
We had a great server, Simone, who made our first Whiskey Bird experience a great one. The food was also very tasty, along with the Holiday Cookie seasonal frozen drink. I will definitely dine at Whiskey Bird again! Parking: There is a small parking lot a couple of doors down from the restaurant, as well as a parking lot across the street. Neighborhood street parking is also available.
Yum
The waiter was extremely hospitable and made sure to confirm our tables allergies Dietary restrictions: Super transparent about allergies!
Bao Benedict was awesome.
First time here. Food, service, and drinks where amazing!
Everything was wonderful and Mike was a delightful server.
Great Parking: Because it was Sunday. Food : 5/5 |
Yum! A neighborhood gem
Pretty awesome. Worth the visit.
Hit the spot. Well executed.
Dietary restrictions: Great Gluten free options! Food
I had an excellent birthday experience with friends. Excellent food and service. Special thanks to Candy for making sure we had an awesome time.
Decent food but horribly rude staff that left us and other patrons in shock
I want to say that the service was amazing! Everyone was friendly and attentive. However, the food was hit or miss. The loaded fries and pineapple cake were delicious, but the fritata was dry and lacked flavor and my friend said the Benedict was ok but not great. I loved sitting out on the patio and truly enjoyed those fries, though!
I ve been to many restaurants in Atlanta in my 6 years of living here and not only was I impressed with the food here, but the service was by far the BEST I ve ever experienced in this city. We were greeted so kindly by the hostess, and one of the servers went out of her way to stop and compliment me. After being seated and ordering mocktails, the waitress Maddie very kindly comped our drinks! We were so surprised and so thankful! We ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer and they were out of this world amazing. HIGHLY recommend. Also, my husband was recovering from a bad cough, and Maddie kindly fixed him a cup of tea, and gave him an extra to go! The burger was also incredible. The food overall was 8.5/10, but the service was 1000/10. I can t wait to come back here!!
Great food and service.
Great time. Love brunch here. Paris (waitress) was awesome.
Super fast and Candy was friendly, knowledgeable and sweet!
Food was delicious, service was great.
First time here and thought it was pretty good. Got the grouper sandwich and my wife got the gyoza chicken tacos. Both were good, but not amazing. Service was good and the place has a cool vibe. Parking: Came on a Sunday night and parking was easy to find. Kid-friendliness: Didnt see a kids menu probably not a great place to bring young kids.
At the waiters recommendation I tried the blackened grouper over risotto. It was truly delicious! There are many things on the menu that I want to try, but when I go back again (and soon!), Ill have to get the grouper again. It was that good!
Disclaimer, I came during brunch with a very reduced menu but it was tasty and worth the visit. Will be back but during the right hours
Trendy but fairly bland/generic food. Good service/atmosphere. Good spot for drinks. Food : 2/5
Food was great and Abby was even better.
Leah s the best
Thank you for your patience! Kid-friendliness: Good Food : 5/5 |
Pretty good food. The Hong Kong Waffles and chicken so so. Billed as Sichuan seasoning but not really. The crispy grouper sandwich was excellent
Fantastic food, excellent drinks and equally great service from Madison. Would definitely go again when we are in the Atlanta area. The coffee would be my only criticism, it is not bad, just average as compared to the high level for all other items. Food
Whisky Bird is always a great place to eat! Great cocktails, great service, and everything on the menu is awesome! They have a rotating frozen beverage that is always amazing! Highly recommend!
First time; very enjoyable; all was great; thankful to have this establishment within reach.
One of our favorite spots in Atlanta! **Food** Whiskey Bird offers an incredible brunch menu that keeps us coming back for more. We cant get enough of their Peruvian chicken tacos, Hong Kong chicken and bubble waffle, ahi tuna tacos, and the Hong Kong sliders we order these four dishes every time we visit, and they never disappoint. **Drinks** While the drinks menu is tempting, we usually stick to coffee or a refreshing mimosa during brunch. That said, their frose is a delightful treat, and their happy hour cocktails are equally impressive. **Service** The service is consistently great. The staff is not only friendly but also exceptionally attentive, making sure we always have everything we need without being intrusive. **Atmosphere** The restaurant is charming with its cute decor and cozy seating options. Whether were enjoying the small patio out front, the balcony seating out back, or grabbing a spot at the small bar when tables are full, the ambiance is always inviting. **Value** I would say 2 years ago, some may see the menu as a tad pricy but when everyone has raised prices, I feel Whiskey Bird is actually a good value. We believe the quality of food, drinks, and service makes it well worth it. Whiskey Bird has secured a special place in our hearts as one of our favorite brunch spots with a fantastic happy hour. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience that combines great food, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere.
Do yourself a favor - go to Whiskey Bird and order the brussel sprouts. Will not matter what else you order, you will leave with an ear to ear smile on your face. But seriously, go get these sprouts whether it s brunch or dinner. My wife and I have been here at least a dozen times for those sprouts alone! Thankfully, the rest of their food (brunch or dinner) and their drinks are fire as well. Highlights: -Crispy grouper sandwich - if you like a fried fish sandwich, this one is as good as it gets. Absolutely mammoth piece of grouper with amazing crunch, the yuzu slaw is to die for, and you can never go wrong with an Alon s bun -Peruvian chicken gyoza tacos OR the ahi tuna gyoza tacos - the crispy gyoza shell is what sets these bad boys apart. Certified bangers -Fried chicken burrito - huge, jam packed, great chicken, everything you need Other shoutouts go to the burger (again, that Alon s bun), the yakitori skewers, and if you want something a bit unusual, try the Bao Benedict. Service here is always great, vibes are casual but cool, price isn t too exorbitant, and they actually do brunch reservations. One of my favorite spots around.

Some apetizers were good ostlybthe tacos the rat not so. Server was not that pleasant and the main entrees were just ok. Won t be going back
Vegetarian options: Can make dishes vegetarian Food
Great happy hour menu
Made a hangry family happy!
Food, drinks, service, atmosphere and overall experience were all great.
Mike was an incredible server and provided a great run through of the menu. Cocktails were solicitous as were the Brussels sprouts
Drinks were great! Food was tasty, a little under seasoned but nothing horrible. Awesome service and ambiance
We did a bunch of appetizers for a tapas style dinner. The stuffed peppers, chicken, and Chinese sausage with octopus yakitori were standouts among all the skewers. The gyoza tacos were my personal favorite of the other appetizers we tried, which included the Hong Kong slider, okonomiyaki fries, and cauliflower.
I ve been meaning to try this place for a while and got my adult kids to come to brunch. Menu was great (get the Brussels sprouts, even if you don t like them, you will), and lots of choices for food allergies. The server was adorable and magnificent, like I d raised her myself. And the bartender made impeccable drinks. I d take them on a girls trip in a hot minute! Vegetarian options: Lots of items available with or without protein Dietary restrictions: Lots of options even with restrictions
Tacos, desserts and drinks
Decent execution on asian fusion. I was a fan of their brussel sprouts and the great customer service.
Our new favorite place! Food was amazing. Whiskey flights, best service (ask for Jack!). Although, I m sure the rest of the staff is great as well. You won t be disappointed, trust me!
Briley was a great server and the food was delicious!
Madison B was simply amazing! This was my first time and I will be back
Best restaurant for food and service!!!!
Maybe our server was having an off day, but Ive never had to wait so long for service. As far as the food and atmosphere, overrated if you ask me.
Very good. Read food descriptions or you might get something spicy but that was my bad.
Wait staff was lacking forgetting about our order several times. Management didnt seem to care much about making up for the mishaps.
Service was excellent, portions large, well cooked.
This place is amazing! Everything we ve tried has been amazing. Service is amazing and food comes out super quick! Definitely a favorite
Parking: Parking in the back Food
Our server Ree was wonderful!
Nice spot for brunch. Ample free parking near or across the street. Good food and service. Will be back.
I ve enjoyed the food here in the past, however my recent experience with their vegetarian breakfast burrito was not good. First, it was loaded with way too many French fries (half the burrito). It also didn t come with any salsa or sauce which wasn t available when I asked. It may be picky, but a burrito loaded with eggs, cheese, and way too many potatoes needs a salsa or some sort of sauce to accompany it.
Parking: Free parking lot across the street and small free parking lot on the backside of the business Food
A very fun tapas/izakaya food style experience. Cauliflower dish was amazing. Very good service, relaxed atmosphere.
Great food. Brunch with friends was special and the bao buns with the eggs Benedict were a game changer
Comfortable place with good food and ample parking nearby.
Chicken tacos were good but the bao buns didnt taste the most fresh. The breakfast chicken burrito was huge but wasnt the tastiest.
Love
Whiskey Bird is such a cute place with great food & great service! Leah was wonderful I could not recommend her more. We got there right as brunch was ending, and all the apps we ordered were delicious. Happy hour menu has limited food options, so if you re going for a vast array of food, go at a different time. We stayed thru happy hour so we could get the dinner menu. Our table got the burger, poke bowl, and grouper; all amazing! Will definitely be back. Parking: Street parking out front, big lot across the street.
The picture and reviews are a bit deceiving . The food was very under seasoned. It s a cute trendy place .
Amazing. Best restaurant in ATL. Lots of flavor and loved all the happy hour items. Can t wait to come back!
Amazingly delicious cocktails and food, super family friendly, and Leah was incredibly patient with my numerous questions!
Super happy hour options, interesting drinks and fabulous Yakitori. I will be back for sure.
I got take out and ordered the salmon. It was one of the best fish dishes I ve had in Atlanta. And it was just takeout! The preparation is so delicious and flavorful! Highly recommend Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly
The blackened grouper was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Several nice innovative dishes. Good choice of cocktails. The loaded Japanese fries were a nice twist on loaded fries.
We had a great experience at the Whiskey Bird. Thanks to Madison, our server, and the entire crew for hosting us for Brunch.
KFC was the best slider I ve ever had. Drinks are great.
Great service with awesome drinks and probably the best blacked grouper sandwich you ll ever taste. Parking: Good parking
Great brunch place Parking: Parking lot in front. Food : 5/5 |
This is my second time here and I have been incredibly impressed with appetizers, cocktails, and entrees both times. Atmosphere is amazing, staff is incredibly professional and kind. I highly recommend eating here for anyone looking to try new things and enjoy fantastic spins on classics!
This place is fresh to death.
Excellent experience on our date nights We had the Brussels, two virgin cocktails, the salmon and the Thai steak salad. We finished with the Key lime cake bar! Our waitress Jalissa was great and candy was so hospitable! We ll be back!!!
Mia, was an excellent waitress: personable, quick, and her recommendations for food and drinks were good. I give her my highest recommendation. If you come to Whiskey Bird, request Mia.
Had the Thai Steak Noodle Salad which had great flavor, but the noodles were totally mushy like they had been sitting around for hours. Service was great. We like to sit at the bar. Unfortunately, it was full this time.
Great food, excellent service! Parking: All good Food : 5/5 |
