GRCo Grill in Aurora

Ordered through Uber eats, portions were extremely small, chicken souvlaki was very dry and rubbery, the dish was missing a side. Maybe it s worse when ordering through Uber eats but food quality wasn t great either. Many Greek food places around and each one is far better than this place. Would give more than two thumbs down if I could.

I frequent this restaurant regularly and was just informed it was sold and the new owner fired all the current staff. The current staff are lovely and I am saddened by this. I will not be supporting this restaurant going forward.

Updated Review: Grco has really improved its good preparation and has very good service. Nice to see a business improve over time. Our Go To for Greek food now. Not impressed. Our meal was overcooked. Salads were nothing more than limp lettuce. Looks like most of the good reviews were prior to an ownership change. I wont go here again.

Me and my family have tried all the Greek food places around Newmarket and Aurora - all of them. But this is the 1st review I have done for any of them. And generally you would give a review if you were dissatisfied or very pleased with your experience I called in, and the order was ready for my pick up. Hot and reasonably priced but good tasting and you know they think customers first when they PACK the food in the containers so much so that you can hardly close them and have to be careful opening them for fear that in might over-flow. (nice problem to have). We will go back and order again this was very good! Parking: Busy mall but there was no problem finding a spot.

Came across this place by accident and so glad I went in. I had a Greek salad with a chicken souvlaki skewer: the Taziki amazing!! So damn good! The chicken grilled perfectly and juicy. So much flavour. The salad was so good! I will be back! It made my day! You won t be disappointed and it was fast! The service was great! Thorough and friendly. Top notch experience. I will be back!

Ordered 2 chicken yeero potato bowls through uber eats, asked for 1 skewer each bowl and the bowl was 98% potato between both bowls the meat would not even make up 1 skewer let alone each.. extremely disappointed .. not worth your money

Wish I read these reviews before I wasted $18. I imagine they have no repeat customers or only people with bland taste buds and a lot of extra money. No flavour. No seasoning. $18 for a few pieces of meat and a lot of rice. Did I mention - NO flavour. Super underwhelming. Nice staff though.

Took out food- they never gave us our 2 salads or tzaziki. Paid $60 for chicken that was mostly fat on rice with a potato that had no sauce (2 chicken dinners). Plus, we had to wait an extra 20mins after preordering. Would never go there again.

Ordered their bowls off Uber eats a few times as they had a bogo deal. It was really good initially but they recently decreased the portion size drastically. Now the bogo deal isn t worth it.

Got sent home with the wrong order. Then came back and got half of my order. Got attitude from the staff saying you should check your order . How about you get it right the first time?! Not a good experience at all. Won t be back

I used to order from this place all the time, pre-pandemic. They offered great service, value, and really good food. Obviously, things have changed. I ordered two Greek salads from this place and have been experiencing the worst symptoms of food poisoning in my life ever since. The other person I bought salad for is over 70 years old. Fortunately, she didnt eat the salad right away, and I warned her not to eat it once my symptoms started. Needless to say, this kind of food poisoning can have extremely detrimental effects on the elderly. Only after I started vomiting did I read the recent reviews talking about the lax safety precautions the workers here exhibit. Its one thing to have the value and food quality decline, but declining safety standards is simply unacceptable. I would not recommend buying food from here under any circumstances.

We got lunch delivered from Grco Grill a while back. They offer a variety of dinner combos, salads, rice bowls, pita sandwiches and specialties like Greek poutine, but our favourites from what were ordered were the Chicken Yeero Pita and Chicken Souvlaki Salad. Their pitas were packed and their Greek salad tasted so fresh! I also liked that their dinner combos came with rice, potatoes and a pita, in addition to a Greek salad and choice of protein! Its a lot of food. I feel like their combos can feed 2. If you are ever craving affordable, healthy and authentic Greek food, definitely check this place out. They are located in Aurora for dine-in and also available via delivery.

The food was ok but youre not getting value for your money. We spent extra $ for the extra chicken and it was still very small portions. The salads that comes with the meals were very small. Expect bigger considering the price they charge. Dont recommend the Calamari. It was $14.99 and was very chewy. You are better spending your hard earned money somewhere else.

First time visiting GRCo Grill. Great little restaurant, with hot table for lunch and dine-in. Friendly service. Chicken souvlaki is on point. Greek salad is fresh and crispy. Pricey for lunch but quality of food is great . I will return once I crave for Greek salad

Just felt so cheated on the portions. There was probably less than a teaspoon of tzatziki on it.

We waited forever for our food after ordering and when watching the staff they were all just standing around. The portions were small for the price you paid and did NOT taste authentic as advertised. They did not give me the correct order and to top it all off, my husband had some serious bowel issues afterwards. Do NOT recommend.

I had this restaurant a 5 3-4 years ago. Original owners sold it to another family. It was still good. Now, the 3rd owners are not so good. Even though they screwed up a few times I kept going back hoping they correct the issues. My last order was today. The front desk is clueless. Prices gone up too much for what it s worth now too.

Pork yeero: super dry, unseasoned, a bunch of thick slices of pure fat mixed in. Super disappointed... Also you guys forgot the fries and drink, an extra $6 I paid and got nothing for.

Decent greek food for the area. I really like the fried calamari and greek salad, but typically get a souvlaki skewer with greek salad. For the amount given, Im not sure the cost is appropriate. You got to try their lamb souvlaki. Always tender & full of flavour! They have amazing customer service. Love their amazing meals. The bathrooms and the floors in the front were not as clean as usual. I was surprised because it was always clean.

I ordered chicken souvlaki takeout through SkipTheDish. Lets start with the taste. Chicken was meh, it tasted like its gone bad and even the spices couldnt hide that rotten taste. I didnt eat the chicken because I was worried I get food poisonings. The potatoes were nothing like what you see in the picture. They hadnt even washed them because there was still dirt on the skin and it wasnt even baked properly because it was too firm. The rice was ok. The little box of Greek salad had no dressing, but it was fine. And the bread tasted like burnt oil. Overall it was very disappointing. My guess is that they had some issues when I ordered the food, maybe their main cook was not there or something but this was not a normal takeout. I dumped most of the food in the garbage sadly.

Fresh delicious food with friendly staff

I would not recommend. The rice that I got from here was spoiled to a point you can see the stickiness (if you are a cook you know what spoiled rice looks like) and the smell was horrible. I try changing it and advise the guy that he shouldn t sell that rice to people and he said no. That it was a sauce he put on top( there was no sauce on my rice) and that the rice was ok. And he gave me fries instead. I feel sorry for the people who bought this and ate it. I got really bad stomachache and diarrhea due to this. Please thunk twice before buying from here. I threw away the fries since I don t trust this guy.

I would not recommend this place. It tastes like hospital food. I ordered lamb and pork souvlaki dinner, and both were dry, chewy, and terrible.

We used to love coming here, at least 2-4x a month. Id get a greek salad with 2 chicken kebobs and my bf would get the lamb dish. A few months ago we placed our normal order and the chicken was totally different. It was oily, the spices were off and it was rubbery. I ate the salad, not the chicken. Tonight, my bf came home with boiled potatoes. They used to be wedge like and had wonderful spices on them. Tonight, boiled potatoes. This place has gone downhill and I am not the only one who has noticed. What happened to the chicken????????

Horrible experience when eating at this restaurant. Was served raw chicken and when asked for refund I was denied. Owner blamed me for the incident and he was cussing at us. They need to learn how to cook chicken correctly because there is risk of bacterial infection.

Crazy salty. I could barely eat it. I got the falafel bowl, a side fries, and side Greek salad. Everything was so salty.

Chicken gyro was small, too many ingredients on it, not legit. Fries were crispy but greasy. Tried to buy baklava (there were over 50 pieces right in front of the register) they didnt know the price so they didnt sell me one. (All 3 employees didnt know the price, I offered cash and they ignored me and put the piece back) This isnt greek food.

We were craving Greek food and this place hit the spot! We ordered a pork souvlaki dinner, calamari dinner and a side of falafel. Food was wonderful with big portions. The calamari was especially tasty - they were very generous as it overfilled take out box. Looking forward to returning to try the lamb!

Greek Salad Dressing leaked all over. Didnt know the bottom of the bag was saturated with Greek dressing as I sat the bag on the carpet as I didnt know the dressing had leaked from the dish the salad was in so I had to go running for towels to wipe up the dressing on the carpet where I set the bag. Its sad to have to wipe salad dressing from my hands before eating, wrapper to the pita sandwich covered in dressing & difficult to unwrap as it was all slimy everything in the bag covered in dressing except the dish the Greek salad was in. Wont be ordering from this place ever again & hope the salad dressing doesnt leave a stain on the carpet.

UNSANITARY; ZERO concern for customer care or safety. I ordered chicken on rice, and there was a FRIDGE MAGNET in my food. I contacted the restaurant as Id ordered it through SkipTheDishes and havent heard back 2 weeks later. This restaurant staff, managers and owners clearly have no concern for the safety of diners. This artifact in my food couldve chipped a tooth, and is a substantial choking hazard! Especially in times of a global pandemic on the decline, the blatant carelessness is shocking. Never in my many years of ordering food have I experienced something so disgusting, and felt an experience so unsanitary. Ill never be ordering from GRCO Grill ever again, and do not see this matter as settled. Do NOT order from GRCO.

Tasted good, but very disappointed in the portions, especially since youre given the option of 10oz and 5oz helpings of gyro. The 10oz was barely over 5oz (weighed the meat, photo attached) and the 5oz was at least half that. It wasnt even close... If youre going to have customers specify by weight, you gotta deliver as promised.

I didn t know chicken was cook medium rare because that s what I received from this location in Aurora. I had a surgery and my husband was feeling sick so we decided to order food. I should had gone with Pizza Hut instead of Greek food. I took a bite of the chicken in the dark and felt weird so I turn on the light and what do I see? Blood on my rice undercook chicken on my hand. I wanted to throw up. I called the location who said, they could give me a credit for one skewer (since the other one was cook). Excuse me? Don t you know my food has now been contaminated and who wants to eat a bowl that had undercook chicken? Not me. He wanted us to take it to him but by now we were just too upset and wanted them to eat it in our faces since it s fine to eat the bowl and chicken like that . The person who answered literally hung up the phone because we were not happy with his solution. I am in recovery, my husband is sick and we decided it wasn t worth the time to go and have a fight in the store. Obviously they do not care about customer service and prefer to keep $20 that having a local happy customer return to eat at the location more times. We would never recommend or go back to this restaurant. Moral of the story: read reviews before ordering in a new place even if you feel sick. FYI I am not posting a picture because I don t want the reader to feel disgusted by it.

The service was extremely slow and there was 1 other person in the restaurant. My rice bowl was prepped in advance and waiting 10 minutes for the souvlaki to cook. So I ended up with decent chicken, cold rice and no salad dressing. Very disappointing.

I used to love this place, but quality has gone way down. Only food that is still decent quality are the chicken fingers and calamari. Not the menu items you would expect to be good at a Greek restaurant. My last visit I ordered a chicken souvlaki pita with tomatoes, onions and fries (Greek style). What I was given was a soggy pita filled with chicken one sliced onion and one diced tomato (see picture). The quantity of chicken provided has also decreased by at least 25% over the past year. I showed the staff my sandwich. After giving me a dirty look they offered to put more tomatoes and onions on the half eaten meal. How about we are sorry, can we make you a new one? The real kicker, this sandwich and a bottle of water cost me $15. Quality and quantity have declined significantly over the past 12-18 months.

People who work here dont even let you order what you want. I tried to order a Greek Poutine 10 times even walked over and pointed at the sign (that has the ingredients) and they argued with me as to what I was asking for and repeated Greek fries. To which I said no and was told over and over its okay. Only to guess what? Not get what I asked for. Avoid this place at all costs, all though I doubt it makes it through another year anyways. Disgraceful new owners.

Spent $20 on what should be a side Greek salad, not a main. The souvlaki dinner was just as small. Both my boyfriend and I are still starving after finishing all our food.

This place used to be good. Not sure if the owner changed. Ordered take out for dinner, but the side salad came with no lettuce at all. We called back the restaurant and the worker said the owner changed the recipe last week. Also, fries used to be good, but changed to some cheap no brand name fries. Takeout containers also downsized. We are disappointed for the food portion we got for the money we paid.

Also, dont have an open kitchen with line cooks not wearing masks, because even if theyre exempt from wearing it, it makes people uncomfortable. Id normally give this place 3 s. They get a covid bonus. Price is high to be honest $ for value. We got their 10oz portion of gyro dinner and for the $17 you pay, the quantity of everything is just.... underwhelming the concept of gyro, happens to be a street food that is supposed to be PLENTY... A feast, if you will... No? That is how greek food fans have come to expect these dishes to be. Quality is generally good and the chicken gyro is marinated well. Jalapeno tzatziki is a fresh take on the lovely dip, albeit being an acquired taste. My girlfriend didnt enjoy it even though we both love spicy food + jalapeno peppers. While not being a fan, I did like it. The owner is a lovely person as well Employees are all kind and polite. Overall quality is similar to greek brother and oh my gyro although price is higher and portions smaller. So to sum it up, if you live in the neighbourhood, give them a shot and support another mom/pop operation but we personally wont make the trip from Richmond Hill south soon times; would rather travel longer but get the works. Sucks though, we were really hope to find a suitable place locally and still no luck. Feel free to follow me as we intend to find the best independent eateries around

I have been going to this resauraunt via takout for the past 3 years+. I have never been disapointed coming here, staff are friendly and accomodating to what you want. Owner is always welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. Chicken souvlaki is marinated beautifily, chicken fingers are nicely breaded not too crunchy, love the salad and olives. I am so glad that this restaurant is in my neighbourhood.

Ordered from Uber eats and the quality of food was very good we ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner, lamb souvlaki dinner and the yeero dinner the lamb was slightly over cooked, the chicken was perfect and yeero was ok the salads and the fries were excellent overall the quality of food was great and reasonably priced will order again Update June 11th: ordered again and was disappointed with the quality of the food. Ordered from Uber eats and the food was not hot, poutine was very salty, too much sauce in the lamb souvlaki wrap and lacked flavour. Disappointed with the lack of consistency

Food was pretty good, had the atmosphere of a hole in the wall even though an obvious chain restaurant. EDIT: I stand corrected. Looked like a possible chain, but its a solo affair. Really well done guys! Im not from the area, so I would love to try more of your menu items, but its a little outside my usual haunts.

The chicken geero rice bowl and it was quite good. The tomatoes and cucumbers needed salt, and the rice could use additional flavouring, but overall, its good.

Quality has gone downhill recently. This used to be a favourite spot of mine when I wanted something delicious and healthy. The last 2 times I went the chicken was rubbery and full of grizzle. Got 1/4 of the amount of potato we used to get as well. Another family member got Lamb which was undercooked and slimy. Such a shame, this place used to be my go to :(
