[UPDATE] November 2024 SO much better now! Worth your money. I read the good reviews recently and tried it again. The quality of the dishes is much better than a year ago. It is not amazing but it is completely delicious. The snack table is also clean and tidy. The waiter seems to be the boss and takes care of every customer patiently. Now he also provides free kumquat tea and sour plum soup. The side dishes also include kimchi cakes and so on. The overall feeling is that it is a sincere store and I will continue to support it. . [Original comment fall 2023] I have been eating at this restaurant since it opened. It seems that the owner changed some time ago? It is obvious that the food and service have declined. There are no snowflakes on the beef. The mutton looks like beef. The orders are either wrong or missing. The dipping stations are either empty or missing. The attentive waiters before are gone. Now The young waiter wearing airpod headphones looked confused. He didn t know whether he couldn t understand English or couldn t hear? Its a pity. I thought I would never go back after using up my membership card, but I still didnt let me use it. I still had more than 20 yuan in the membership card. I couldnt use it anymore. Its just so unfortunate to witness the down slope of this restaurant, used to be great and we recommended it to so many friends. Now Id say take your money couple blocks down to Richmond Hill, at least youll get your food and mindful service.

I m surprised that they have lots of choices for kids, I m a hotpot lover but hard to enjoy hotpot with kids elsewhere. The mung bean desert made by them is amazing! I enjoyed it so much after spicy food!

Its delicious, there arent many people, its quiet, its nice, theres wifi available, and it also includes sour plum soup and kumquat lemon tea.

Wow this little place in Aurora is amazing. Great food and the quality is awesome . First time here and the owner was super helpful! She made us try so many delicious items, including blue crab. Had a pretty wonderful time at my first all you can eat HotPot. The crispy pork dish they have is so delicious!! Do be aware that the AYCE price does not include the price of your broth, as this is separate. Would definitely recommend giving it a try

First time at a hot pot restaurant. Didn t really know what to expect. It was a great experience. The broths were really good. The food was also really tasty. The lady that was serving us was really kind and helpful. My only issue was the price. It was a Friday, and they insisted we had to pay weekend price. It was lunch but we couldn t have the lunch special. It was $65 for my wife and I. Then $12 for the broth. Plus $20 for my 11 year old son. Then there was another $10 charge. Not sure what that was for. This was the most expensive lunch I have ever had. It cost me $150 dollars to take my wife and son out for lunch. Wow. Not sure if that is normal or if we got hosed.

Went with friends on a weekday for lunch. The lunch special was fantastic, and their soup base was delicious and had a lot of selections you could choose from. The best part was that the ingredients were all very fresh. Definitely will return again.

This was my first hot pot experience and I will be back! Food was excellent and service was so friendly and helpful!

The service was ok however they were not open to showing us how to eat hot pot as it was our first time. They didn t bring some of the items we ordered. Brought us the wrong soup base and the owner/supervisor on site was rude about it. We left the place chalking it up to a learning experience. However that night both my daughter and I were sick with intestinal issues and nausea. Not sure what it was we ate at his place that made us that sick but it wasn t pleasant at all. I then decided to ck the York region food safety inspection report to find out that they are not in compliance. I warn those attempting to go enjoy a new food experience to stay away from this one as you will get sick.

We like this place. We come here pretty often. If you have kids under 5, make sure you mention it cause they eat for free and the staff dont always ask the ages. We were overcharged for our 3 year old, but I didnt notice until after paying, but my husband said just let it go. Its not usually super busy. It has a good selection of food and the soup bases are very tasty and flavourful.

Food was okay, a bit over priced for meager selection. Their turn over time for the serve yourself desserts was abysmal. In 2 hours I had one slice of watermelon, and I was checking often. I was not alerted for last call so when I tried to order they told me it was too late. My table was stacked with old dishes and they never came to take it away or check in on us. Abysmal service with mediocre food, I will not be coming back.

Pickled cabbage fish broth was delicious! Very friendly staff though I did have to remind them about some missing items. Not the end of the world as they came out after reminding them. Great service.

I wish I could give zero star. No service and poor quality of food. Waiting for 45 minutes, but still no food was delivered. After complaints, we were given what we have not ordered, such as chicken wing s tip, intestine they all looked like leftover. Where were the beef, lamb, shrimp we have ordered? $30.99 (soup base, drink and dessert not included) for those kind of food, are you kidding?

I went with my date and we had the spicy beef north and the pork bone broth!! Both were delicious but prepare for the spice levels of the spicy broth! If youre not a fan of spice, I would recommend level 1 spice !

This was my first time being at this location. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our server was extremely nice and respectful. Excellent customer service. Emily was so helpful and nice. She provided awesome service, she always came by to ask if we needed anything and asked if we re doing okay. The broth was really good. We had the butter beef broth (mild spicy) and the pork bone broth; both were really good, great flavour. There is a lot of meat, seafood and vegetable option. I would recommend this location.

If you are looking for hot pot for beginners this might not be the best place the staff is friendly but gives very little explaining for how people typically eat hot pot me and the group i went with had to figure it out ourselfs but over all a great time

Been here a few times now, the service is wonderful and atmosphere is sublime, emphasis on customer service! Lots of variety on the menu, and always nice and spicy! Will definitely return for more! Vegetarian options: Anything from fungus to bamboo and noodles and rice, they have many vegetarian options

We popped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch because we wanted to try something new. We were so happy to meet Hanson as our server because we had never tried hot pot before. He was so inviting, explained everything and kept checking up on us. Amazing amazing service !!!!

It was a good experience. We celebrated my husbands birthday here, and it was memorable. All the food was incredible, and the staff was accommodating and attentive. We will come back for sure. Highly recommended I love the frog leg.

Excellent hot pot, especially the crispy pork. The freshly fried pork is delicious. I ordered three plates. The beef skewers are very spicy. If you like spicy food, you must order it. The service is also very good. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. My children say it is The most delicious hot pot I have ever eaten, and I also caught up with the 15% off store celebration event. I was so happy eating that I forgot to take photos

Very good. Reminds me of the hot pot places I went in Shanghai and Xiamen. Most authentic I ve been to here as far as menu and offerings.

Menu price couldn t match with the final price on the bill, and they didn t let customers know about the price increase until the bill was issued. Not recommend.

Hot pot in the north

Saw a promotion and registered for a vip card at this location. But surprisingly,THIS LOCATION DOESNT ACCEPT VIP CARD when you try to use it. Not sure how it works won t load any penny anymore. Flavour is okay only if you like the spicy food. Tried a few non spicy one. Can t really tell need to mix your own sauce to make it tasty. One start give to the all you can eat. ( lots of restaurants canceled or changed the model because of covid)

I would have loved to enjoy their food, as I ve heard many good reviews from friends and colleagues, however, as my partner and I entered the restaurant at 8:30 on Saturday we were met with an extremely unwelcoming tone from the hostess explaining that they close at 10 (mind you Google says they close at 10:30) and last call was at 9:30. Frankly I ve never had an experience where showing up one and a half hours before closing was such an inconvenience for the staff, especially for a party of two. BEWARE!! hours are deceiving.

Restaurant was very clean and had a great variety!

No pictures as I always think of taking photos once all the food is over. All you can eat but really stands out for me is their one particular soup base - chili and pickled vegetable soup. My wife is vegetarian so we get the hot water version, which surprisingly is better than the normal version. The depth of flavors is just amazing. Make sure to add lots of fresh chili, garlic, scallions , and sesame and it takes the flavors up a notch. Rest is just a lot of variety of different meats and vegetables you can order. It s nice to finish the meal with a cool ice cream and sesame balls.

First time doing hot pot ever. Staff was kind and explained the process to us. The induction plate built into the table was a really cool setup. Whole restaurant was clean and tidy, bright and welcoming. Great selection of meat and veggies to cook in the soup/broths. Food was great quality and great portions for all you can eat.

I found such a hidden spot!! Although I am not sure that I can order maratang in the restaurant cuz I ordered it through the ubereats app, I really recommend it if you are a single. In addition, the thing that I can choose spicy level of the food make me more satisfied

We were seated quite quickly, they asked what broth we wanted (split-pot). I went with the signature broth (was spicy) and mushroom. You order from the server via their menu. They quickly bring your items to cook. I would recommend getting the beef with enoki mushroom skewer. They have a good selection of sauces in the DIY sauce bar. They also have a dessert section that had watermelon, ice-creams, and chinese steam bun with condensed milk. Definitely will go back.

It was definitely a great dining experience, I really liked the environment and the food tasted great. The waiters are very nice and its great for families with kids.

I wish I could give zero stars. I just arrived with my fiancé at 8:30 to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We were refused a table and told they were closing even though it is 1.5 hours before closing. As we were walking out the door a party of probably 15 people came into the restaurant and got a table right away. We will never come back. I feel like I was discriminated against.

Good hotpot option in the Aurora/Newmarket area. Lots of veggie selection. Staff is attentive and polite. Wish they can keep the sauce table a bit more tidy - the soy sauce and vinegar containers can use some wiping/disinfecting (those bottles were very sticky to the touch). Otherwise the place is clean. Food tastes good. Will go back again.

Waited a lot for staff to attend to us despite the restaurant not being very full (only half the tables were occupied). When we first arrived into the restaurant, we were standing by the entrance for about 7-10 mins before staff approached us. They could all see us standing there and waving at them, but wouldnt talk to us. We had a reservation. Then we were finally taken to a table that wasnt even cleaned (still had previous customers dishes and table had to be wiped). So then we stood there while they cleaned the table. They didnt even do this properly as there were crumbs and spills all over the table after they cleaned it, forcing me to grab some tissues and clean it myself. We were given menus and pens to order. We quickly noted down what we wanted but we waited for over 30 mins (we timed it) before we could finally give our order in. There was a family that came into the restaurant about 10 minutes after we did, and they were already eating by the time we gave our order in. The first person who brought us our order brought the wrong items. So we had to try and get his attention to let him know. Finally he ended up asking us to order all our items again on a new menu. 20 minutes after ordering we finally have our soups and our items, but many things are missing, notably the skewers. The table beside us was being served skewers all night long. Despite us asking staff about our missing items, we never got them. Once we finished the items we did receive we decided to get the bill and leave ASAP after bring frustrated with the poor service. Im not sure if this is a race thing? My friend and I are visibly South Asian, and the family I mentioned above that got service before we did was East Asian. We were repeatedly ignored by staff despite us trying to get their attention. I would not come to this location ever again. There are much better hotpot restaurants for much better prices and service.

Excited to find out there is a new AYCE hot pot in the area. Food was surprisingly decent and has a wide range of selections but the service was not sufficient. We showed up around 3pm and the sauce&dessert bar were all empty. There was a few customers eating at that time but no waiter comes up and welcomed us. The girl who serves us is also bit of clumsy. Hope the service could improve when I come next time.

Worst service I have experienced. New to hot pot - no help at all. No service, no water refill, no drink order taken, didnt even show us how to turn on the burner. Never came back to check on food quality. Had to find someone for more napkins, had to find someone to pay the bill. Not a busy night, we were one of 3 tables.

The legendary spicy flavor I ordered for the set meal for two was delicious. The takeout boxes and packaged skewers are very considerate, and the soup stock box is sealed with plastic wrap so it wont spill when you drive home. Five-star reviews, the portion size and ingredients are right for the starting price!

Nice place

I would like to leave a good review for this restaurant! We are like 30 min late for our appointment and the manager said he could not extend the time during COVID. As soon as he found out the next customer would be late, he extended our time. I really appreciate that! The food was fresh and tasty, and the place was clean and comfy. But I think the girl waitress still needs some improvement on her service. Overall, I liked this restaurant and would recommend to others!

Amazing meat and soup

Awesome place. Been twice now. Servers are very helpful with your order and the food was great. Love the variety especially the mix of off cut meats and the selection of great veg. Sauce bar has enough options that you can make some fairly different sauces, I went with a sesame, bean garlic sauce and then another that was fresh chilis and garlic. The 2 sauces were a great mix. Maybe a bit heavy on the schezuan peppercorn for me, but Im aware that its supposed to be that way. I also really like the touch of the noodle ribbons as they are easier to control in the broth. Cant wait for my next visit as I think Ill switch it up and pick a milder broth set up to see how that is. The black chicken and herb soup caught my eye. Fresh, authentic, delicious and straight up awesome.

Enjoyed a hot pot dining experience at Ye Skewers in late August 2021. Dining here would be a very memorable dining experience and excellent intro for those who have not tried hot pot and is also a worthwhile visit for those who enjoy good hot pot. Pleasant first impressions as the restaurant is clean, bright and well laid out. The food items for the hot pot are fresh and of great variety, many on skewers. So after cooking the food item in the boiling broth (like spicy peppercorn or mild mushroom) at your table, it is handy to pick up a skewer and enjoy the morsel of food. Other items are placed in the broth and can be picked out as desired by the diners. Ideal for couples and fun for larger groups especially with the skewers. You can also create your own dipping sauce at the food station to bump up the flavour experience. And there are buns and spring rolls to compliment your hot pot, plus free ice cream. I really enjoyed it and recommend dining here.

We went on a Wednesday and there were unexpectedly many people at noon. Only one person served us. We had to wait for 30 minutes for our second round of food. When it came, we didn t even want to eat it. It was so overwhelming. I understand that the boss may not have expected it at noon. There are so many people, so there is not enough manpower, but why dont we turn on the air conditioner...
