Had a great birthday dinner here for our Saturday night reservation. Ordered the brussel sprouts, the PEI mussels, beef cheek, Mediterranean sea bass (the fish special), the squash risotto and finished off with the pasteis de nata. Stars of the night: the squash risotto and the pasteis de nata were fantastic! Absolutely the best pasteis de nata I have had in Toronto. Comparable to some of the best we ate in Portugal. Crust was not greasy, super flaky and the filling was not overly sweet with a consistency that is creamy but not overly thick. (All common problems that we've noticed with the pasteis de natas in Toronto). Risotto was creamy and saucy but not mushy with strong squash flavor. Beef cheek was super tender but I felt the flavor was a bit bland. Our mocktails were also a bit bland based off of their described menu ingredients. We really enjoyed our brussel sprouts as well and the mussels tasted very fresh. Service was great. Charlie was very friendly and professional and offered great recommendations (the pasteis de nata). Thanks Charlie! They also very kindly offered us some port on the house! Portion sizes are reasonable. Pricing is fair. Vibe is great for a date or a more upscale meal. Would absolutely visit again.
I was recommended Fishbone Kitchen and Bar by my friends and wow- truly did not disappoint. I came here with a great friend visiting from out of town and we were both blown away. To start off, the employees we encountered were wonderful! They offered to hang our coats in coat check as soon as we sat down and did so with a smile! We sat at the bar and were looked after by Sarah! She’s super knowledgeable and friendly! Then we have Dave who was the one that offered to take care of our jackets but also was incredible as well. I didn’t get the name of the other lovely employee but she was wonderful as well. The food was amazing! It was my first time trying grilled octopus and I was blown away. I’m a sucker for freshly baked breads and theirs was amazing. Lamb chops and cod were a 10/10. I can’t rave enough about this place. We will definitely be back :)
Very nice place for date night without the kids. The dishes were amazing and atmosphere was great. Ordered the seafood paella. This dish came out served piping hot and was humongous in size. I barely put a dent into it but the seafood was fresh and it was surprisingly very flavourful. Caesar salad was a great starter. From beginning to end the meal was an excellent experience and would definitely recommend.
Hidden gem in Aurora! I really like seafood and this place is a must try. Excellent customer service, beautiful interior. The food is just delicious. Best salmon tartar I ever had.
TL;DR Everyone was very professional yet welcoming. The food was cooked with the right balance of flavour and texture. The restaurant has a modern elegant style. Overall a great place for a date night or celebration. Grilled Moroccan Octopus: I recommend it. The texture was great with the right amount of char and the sauces complimented it very well. Salmon Tartar: The salmon was soft and savoury in contrast with the mango and the freshness of the cucumber and rice paper. There was a strong flavour in only parts of the tartare, if it was more evenly distributed it would have been better. Arroz a Valenciana: This paella was very delicious with the balanced harmony of seafood flavours cooked to the right consistency.
Came here for a birthday, so glad we did! Everything is top notch: service, presentation, flavour. The grilled octopus took us back to the experience of eating the same dish along the river in Porto. To finish it off, they gave us two glasses of port on the house - that’s excellent hospitality. Can’t wait to come back!
I went to Fishbone with my wife for our anniversary. The food amazed us. The oysters were so fresh, it went so well with horseradish and tobacco with a little bit of lemon juice. The Fishbone Caesar salad was absolutely amazing, the anchovies and bacon made the Caesar salad tasted so good. I wished my stomach had room for one more salad. Last but not least, the seafood paella was finely made. I bet the ingredients were so fresh that the seafood flavor was still lingering within my mouth when I was on the way driving back home. Restaurant is clean and our server Charlie was very nice to us. We had a good time there!
The Brussel sprouts are over fried, came in dark and bitter. Seafood paella was tasty with plenty of seafood. Offered a complimentary drink for birthday which was surprising. Service is great. Was busy even on weekday nights.
I had my son s baptism at the fishbone location in Aurora and it was an incredible event. The manager, Carlo, and all the staff were terrific and brought my vision to life. They were extremely accommodating every step of the way. The service was amazing, the food was all the rave, and everyone was very well taken care of. I would absolutely choose this restaurant tile and time again. Thank you all for the amazing care that went into this event. Fantastic!
The best service I have ever received. Thank you for a memorable evening and exceptional food.
Ive been to the outdoor one in Stouffville and it was amazing. With the change in the weather this month we wanted to treat some friends to the experience that we had at the other one and they didnt disappoint. Charlie the waiter made the atmosphere very friendly and he definitely knew his menu. You will see us again.
Delicious fish, great selection of wines and ports, attentive service in a cosy environment.
Great food, great service, good prices, highly recommended!!!
Squash Risotto was delicious! Yum!
Went here for a birthday celebration dinner and the experience was amazing! Tidy and spacious layout, and the service was top notch as well! The food was great, and we truly enjoyed the Paella the most. The flavor is rich but not super overwhelming! And lastly the tart dessert was one of the best! Food
We had food catered for our meeting, and both the food and service were excellent
Great service!
Food was delicious as usual especially those Brussel Sprouts, incredible! Our server Alex was amazing, so attentive and personable. Atmosphere is always perfect. Thanks again Fishbone for another great experience!
Came here with my husband a few months ago and we were very impressed. The food was delicious and our server was absolutely amazing, very professional and kind - really great service. Will be coming back for special occasions
Beautiful dinner with some friends All plates were spot on Staff were good Nice restaurant for every occasion
The salmon tartar was delicious. Oysters are fresh
The cod was good, burrata with peach was amazing, but the service is just stratospheric...we had a blast - highly recommended! Excellent choice for a small group or just a duo dining experience - there was no noise that would impede our conversation and yet there was enough privacy. Thumbs up! Parking: There is plenty of parking on the plaza
Best in town!
The brussel sprouts are amazing, prices are out of control though
Charlie was serveing us he was a grate server the food was amazing and the restaurant was grate .
Great service
Fantastic dining experience. Food was amazing, server was excellent.
Came for my wifes birthday. Delicious food, impeccable service. Would definitely be coming back.
Amazing place!!!
Charley was incredible! Great food, great people. - the girl with roses Food : 5/5
Food was flavourful, presented nicely. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and checked in while being respectful of our space. Overall, the resto was nice though having a private convo was difficult. The lighting was a bit too dim, and the penny tile on the wall in the washroom was hard on the eyes.
Made a last minute reservation for a Birthday dinner and was greeted by a very friendly Host. David was our Waiter who did a wonderful job. We indulged on Oysters, Octopus and Hamachi and a Red Snapper filet and Paella for the main course, all were excellent. It s not very often that I can say that food and service were excellent but The Fishbone succeeded.
Good food & service.
Wow, 1st time here. Food was delicious, especially the Paella and the seabass. Our server Dave is wonderful.
One of the best restaurants ever -celebrated our 30th anniversary with delicious food , great service and awesome atmosphere . Loved it !
fishbone aurora for a small local location exceeded my expectations in quality, service and food. ambiance set the mood and service created an experience. every dish was well made down to technique and taste. i loved the food and so did my camera lol presentation was on point.
This is a great spot. The decor was modern and clean, service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend!
My favourite fancy restaurant in Newmarket/Aurora. Servers are really great. Very good about allergy concerns. Go right when they open or right when they close and it feels way more intimate.
The waiters were very nice friendly and the food was amazing
Truly 5 star! This was the best cod dish I ever had. They checked all the boxes. I asked for salt and pepper and a wooden bowl of maldon salt was brought to the table.... If you know, you know. The decor, ambience, service was all amazing. This is a must try and at the top of the list of the best restaurants for me (across the globe but this is in my hood - so proud)
Fantastic food and appetizers. Will definitely try to visit again. Been to the other location I prefer this one by far.
Decent food with an annoying amount of Hipsters.
One of our favourite places to go for a nice meal. The food here is consistently amazing and we really enjoyed the ambience here as well. This is one of the few places in this area that offers really good seafood and we especially enjoyed the grilled whole fish!
Very tasty and fresh. A bit pricey but worth it
very expensive. Food quality did not match up with the price and rating.
I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant chill and cozy, perfect for a relaxed dining experience. The food was absolutely impeccable, with the bread and lamb standing out as highlights. The dessert was equally drool-worthy, rounding off a fantastic meal. The only downside was that the wine and cocktail selection was a bit limited, which was a bit disappointing. However, the quality of the food and the welcoming ambiance more than made up for it. Ill definitely be back!
Excellent restaurant.
Went to celebrate our anniversary and had great time. Josh delivered great customer service and cuisine is genuinely high end.
This was my second time at this restaurant and I absolutely loved it the first time about 5 months ago, everything was amazing - food taste, service, quality, atmosphere. My expectations were the same this time around, however we were a group of 4 and most of us were disappointed with the quantity of food we received for the same plate we got last time. The octopus appetizer portion was 1/3 of the size that it was last time for the same price! Im posting two photos for comparison. The service was very slow this time and it took 40 mins for appetizers to come in and the same time for desserts. Even though the taste was still great for everything, we were quite disappointed this time as this restaurant is not cheap so we had the same expectations coming there for the second time.
On dear Fishbone what a disappointment! You charged me $46:00 for an extra small piece of crusted halibut, three very small asparagus, one lettuce leaf and a tomato sauce. Did I mention the small dot of advocado jus. Nothing else! No carbs, no other vegetable and no complete salad. Do you really think it is right to take advantage of your clientele this way. When we arrived we were not given warm bread or an olive tapenade. Yes we could have purchased these but why? This should be a compliment of the restaurant. Won t be visiting you again until you start recognizing your clientele s worth.
Been there many times Never been the one to post One of the best restaurants in Toronto and gta Service is amazing and food is unique and delicious Highly recommended
The food is high priced and average. Service was excellent.
My husband and I celebrated our birthdays together here and enjoyed the entire experience. Charles was our waitor and he gave us amazing service. We got lit candles on our dessert and a yummy complimentary birthday drink at the end of the meal. The food was so delicious. We both shared a Caesar salad, Paella and a delicious dessert. (Im not a big eater!!). I highly recommend the restaurant in Aurora. I cant wait to go back.
We truly enjoy and appreciate good food and this place was off the charts! The service Ed fantastic but the food was ridiculously good! We were all super impressed! We will definitely be back!
Update: post covid it has been a challenge to find restaurants with great food and great service. Here you have one. Fine food, service, and staff. A hidden gem. Excellent food and perfect wine pairing. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Tables were spaced out. I would recommend to friends. Update. May 2024. Consistent high quality food. Very challenging to to find post covid. Well done. Peter
We celebrated my sons birthday on a week night Great service, food and very nicely decorated restaurant. I understood its Iberian or a fusion of Portuguese and Spanish cuisine. I ate the best Paella ever at this restaurant.. my kids enjoyed it as well.. definately pricey but worth it. Parking: The restaurant is in a plaza with lots of parking..
The food and drinks are always amazing here. Service is always top notch. We look forward to returning.
Visit first time by reservation. Not bad , but I recommend that restaurant for couples or adults only. Because s there is no kids menu, but very welcoming waitress Christma, who serves us, recommends chicken nuggets with french fries . Free parking lot with alot of available spots. Food
The new menu is amazing. You are treated so well here and the food never disappoints
Amazing food and incredible service. We did lunch so it was quiet. I expect a full restaurant would provide an even better atmosphere.
February 2024 We had a celebration dinner for five on a Friday evening. Four of us had the trout special and one had cod. All enjoyed their meal. Had a bottle of champagne and cocktails. We had Flaming pig (sausage over oil lamp) Calamari, warm olives. Creme Brulee, chocolate and coffees and some port. Everyone had a good time and the celebration was a success. Our server, Charles, was attentive
Every time is delicious fresh food. Very nice service. Thank you. Food : 5/5
Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly. Food
Tried this restaurant for the first time last night with my family and we had a great experience! The food was delicious; we had the poached pear salad, mussels, tagliatelle (our favourite dish), grilled whole fish, steak and frites (best fries ever), and the paella (a little oversalted but had a good amount of seafood). The seafood was all very fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the clean and romantic ambiance. We will definitely be back as this is now my favourite restaurant in Aurora!
Stopped at this place for a change being in the area for a family dinner. Its a relatively small facility and it was full. Its new, modern and very clean. Tables are small, not convenient, prices are on a higher side for no particular reason as food in general is not spectacular, however not bad either. Service was good and friendly. Noticed some Portuguese ideas on a menu, perhaps the place has some affiliation. Choices on a menu are somewhat limited. Certain things they run out. I would recommend to visit them for a change of scenery, but definitely its not a frontline top choice to go and have a blast. Definitely not a top seafood destination. There were four of us and we ordered a lot of different things. As a recommendation - their bread and Brussels sprouts were standing out. Keep in mind most portions are on a smaller side as well. Thats not necessarily a bad thing really. Temperature of the food is on a lower side, warm. We will not repeat anytime soon, as I already said - its good for a change. Hours of operation are somewhat limited to 9.30 pm. Place doesnt have any appreciation offer for birthdays sadly. Totally for 4 spent-350ish with one beer. Parking: No issues
Vegetarian options: I was hesitant to leave this review for only one reason: I do not want this to be to popular, so they become fat cats like The Keg. It is a well-kept secret in the neighbourhood, and I hope it will stay that way. I visit this place often, usually for lunch with some of my business partners. Unique cocktails, great seafood, special appetizers, superb presentation, fantastic desserts (will the Heavenly Cream - Natas Deceu - ever come back?), friendly service, Portugese flair. A great place to enjoy a culinary delight.
Best seafood we ve ever had. So fresh and clean, the calamari was to die for - so flavourful. Our new go to seafood restaurant!
10/10. Amazing service from Charlie. Nice, romantic dinner. Very good menu and tasty food. Will definitely come back
Excellent restaurant, amazing food and service. Highly recommend. We will be back
Food was fine from a taste point of view but size of meal was disappointing and small. They seem to go for an artistic presentation with small portions, half of the plate was empty!. The desert was very plain. Restaurant and bar was busy and they have done a good job on the decor.
Pretty Good~ Live the fresh oysters
Good food and presentation!
Amazing! Food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxed and the service was great! Definately recommend it
We came in for a Friday night in the Spring. It s a cute restaurant where ambience was definitely nice. Food tasted decent while here, but had a bit of stomach issue after, not sure why. And I really didn t think service was amazing.
Unfortunately the scallops and pork belly were overcooked -- and the octopus wasnt cooked properly either. Server brought an ingredient I had mentioned was a dietary restriction and said just pick it off. So I didnt eat it and she charged the bill in full anyway. Sadly this is just another overpriced wannabe fine dining restaurant with mediocre quality.
Food was amazing, wine was delicious, server and service was exceptional. Looking forward to returning.
Visit it during the Covid for lunch loved it came back for a birthday celebration for a quick dinner, reservation was made mentioned that it was birthday. They never even acknowledged that it was a birthday celebration. Furthermore, food was very bland.
Amazing. I am quick to criticize but this place astounded me. Very high level of service, reasonable price given the high quality of the food. And wow, the quality of the food was as good as I ve had anywhere in the world. I had a few things and they were all remarkable but really want to call out the octopus. Usually I try a bite of octopus and rate it on a rubbery scale but what I had tonight was a revelation. Not a hint of rubberyness and a great char. Unsure what they did to accomplish this but hats off. Overall one of the best meals I ve ever had.
Service was on par. Not poor, not exceptional. This review is about food though. We came with a larger party and I cannot speak for everyone, but I had brussel sprouts and special: cornish hen. Appetizer brussel sprouts: I love brussel sprouts in any shape and form that accents their tenderness and bitterness when prepared correctly. Fishbone version of brussel sprouts is an abomination. If I was to deep-fry cardboard and slather it with unbearably sweet sauce, it would taste the same as the brussel sprouts served here. Fishbone chefs took everything magical about brussel sprouts and took out behind the barn and shot it. In short, terribly overcooked (charred beyond recognition) and drowned in sugar-heavy sauce to mask the burned taste. People who rave about brussel sprouts here clearly dislike eating them regularly. I hoped the cornish hen would lift my spirits. It did not. The hen was bland. Not terrible, but not enough seasoning.
Our first meal, for my wifes birthday, was a very memorable and excellent experience. Thank you to Dave our waiter and others who made our meal, exceptional. The raw bar platter was very impressive. We will return for more and try other menu and special items. Food
First of all Food was top notch. Oysters were fresh and the fish cooked to perfection. The waitress was very nice. We had a 8:15 reservation for 4. I guess the only reason for not the full 5 stars was the timing on all the oyster condiments didn t arrive with oysters (about a 10 min wait) and our wives were served about 3-5 minutes before the two men were served. Maybe petty, but I would think it s an important detail for all 4 guests at a table be served at roughly the same time. I would still recommend.
The music was too loud and the prices are too high.
Delicious Our waitress (Terra) was amazing Definitely going back Food : 5/5
It is nice place for regular dining..
I d just like to say how much both my husband and I love your cuisine (both Aurora and on the lake) but what really makes our experience even better is Tara. She is one the best waitresses we ve ever come across and we re always so grateful to have her as our server. She s one of a kind.
Food, service and ambiance all 5 stars!
Real great gem in Aurora. Portuguese cuisine. Amazing service and food is yummy
My wife took me here for my birthday in December and we had a great experience. Our server Tara was very knowledgeable, personable and overall just excellent. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Our favourite high end restaurant in Aurora, we love their food and the one section where we sit is so pretty. Crispy Brussel sprouts are to die for. The only place I know that has 2 fryers, 1 that is strictly dedicated for gf so I can eat theirvwhole menu!!!! My birthday dinner was divine.
We had the icelandtic cod n man was it delicious! The service is amazing and our server Tera was super nice n friendly. Definitely recommend this spot.
Food was excellent, service was perfect. Cant wait to go back again. We had the octopus appetizer, the paella and the seafood tagliatelle... everything was delicious.
New menu, its a must OMG what a dinner. Amazing food and service. Love the new menu. Slight change to the menu was greatly appreciated. Food : 5/5
The decor and atmosphere is upscale, trendy, cozy and intimate, though it might be really loud in a full dining room. The room was a little less than half full when we were there on a Thursday evening in winter, and definitely noisy but in a pleasant way (for us). My husband and I shared sardines with fennel salad, the eggplant app, and the paella. We loved the sardines and salad - so tasty. Paella was great too - very plump seafood, cooked excellently. Just the eggplant was disappointing. Tasted like fried nothingness, overly sweet - no taste of eggplant at all. We both had the blueberry mojito. I liked it but definitely on the sweet side. And I had a cookies&cream dessert, which is totally different than what it sounds. It was very fresh and light, not too sweet. Charlie was an excellent server. Super personable and attentive. For 2 apps/sharing plate, 1 main, 1 glass of wine, 2 cocktails, 1 dessert and 1 latte, the bill came to about $150, which I thought was very reasonable for the experience and quality of seafood. Its primarily a seafood restaurant and seemed to be the best options of what we ordered. Parking: Lots of free parking in a shared commercial plaza.
A really nice seafood restaurant around the area. But this place is worth the extra travel even if you are not from the neighbourhood. Ill let the pictures do the talking.
Lovely restaurant with great food, friendly service and an elegant and beautiful atmosphere.
Fishbone - Thanks to my parents for a night off allowing me to take my wifey out for a nice meal. We hit up a local spot which we went to a few years ago, but hadnt been back since. Dont know why it took us so long to go back, but man was it a yummy seafood feast last night. NGL, its pricey, but sometimes you have to treat yourself. We started with the Ontario Beets; so good! We loved the herbaceousness from the mint and dill. We followed that with the Mussels & Clams and the bowl was piled high plus it included a toasted sourdough slice. The tomato saffron broth was so good I had to tip the bowl and drink it all - wish there was another piece of bread to sop up the soup. Next were our entrees, the Seafood Tagliatelle and the special of the night which was a whole fried Red Snapper for two. The pasta was so good, but then again we love pasta especially cream sauce pastas. The fried fish was spectacular and was way bigger than we anticipated. It came with an umami blast tomato puree and taro chips. The combo was divine! Oh, we also washed all of this down with some Super Bock beer. Very refreshing and easy to drink! Lastly, the restaurant was kind enough to gift us two glasses of port just before we received our dessert which was a very nice gesture and we end the night with the maple pine nut tart. Unfortunately the tart wasnt our fav, but it was still nice to have something sweet to end off such a hearty and seafood-filled dinner. If youre in the area and looking to have a nice night out, dont hesitate to stop by Fishbone in Aurora. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
We are lucky booked fishbone. It is very good experience and perfect Services we will back to try more delicious food.
We went there to celebrate my daughter s birthday. Restaurant has nice vibe with great seafood dishes. Try to bring my own cake and restaurant doesn t allow outside cake but staffs there not even offer a little something for BD girl which is disappointing consider how much we spent.
Great food and atmosphere. Excellent service too.
I had an amazing experience at Fishbone kitchen + bar. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff and shown to my table promptly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with dim lighting and tasteful decor. The menu offered a great variety of options, and I decided to try the Grilled whole fish, Portuguese saffron paella, and Tagliatelle. It was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The presentation of the dish was also very impressive. Throughout my meal, the staff were attentive and friendly, making sure that I had everything I needed. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding, and I cant wait to come back again soon.
Fishbone food is always delicious!
I didnt catch our servers name but she was awesome. She really took care of my wife and I. Well definitely be back and recommend Fishbone to friends and fam.
Last time dining in was more than 3 years ago before pandemic tried again today, still as good! Nice clean place with white theme furniture and decoration. Friendly service and the waiter took good care of us! The Grill whole fish is always good and I highly recommended! They sourced the fish from Off the Hook fish market I believe so the fish typically would be fresh. This time I got the seabass and cost about $42 plus tax. Not cheap but worth it in my opinion. Nicely charred on the outside but meat is soft!
Tables to close together.personal conversation difficult. Big TV screen showing hockey game. Not appropriate for fine dining. Service excellent My main course shrimp and scallops .seafood was frozen .sauce was good.
The Portugese inspired menu has always been amazing. The Octopus and Paella is definitely my top recommendation. Their espresso is especially good (Torrie) and the staff is fantastic. There is good table spacing in the dining area, but it fills up for dinner. Weve dined here a number of times and the menu does change every few months (which keeps things interesting).
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our waiter was attentive but non- intrusive and very professional. The food was of high quality: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts - very crispy with a hint of sweetness from the balsamic vinegar. Portuguese Saffron Paella - perfectly cooked with lots of mussels, clams and shrimp with rice. Tagliatelle - a wide, long pasta that was very creamy and flavourful. Ordered fresh berries and custard for dessert. A nice way to end the meal. Will definitely visit again
w restaurant
Fishbone was the place we had a small friends get together (4 couples). Appetitizer: deep fried brussel sprouts salad (balsamic dressing) - nice starter; whets the appetite nicely (might be a bit overwhelming flavour wise if you have this by yourself... Something to share) Main: Seafood Paella - with the great reviews about their Paella, I was looking forward to this. I have say, I was disappointed. Seafood flavour was not bad, but way too oily, and not Socarrat (crispy rice layer on the bottom). Maybe I had one that was off. Beverage: Super Bock Pilsner - ordered it after receiving main. I wish I ordered it with my brussel sprouts. Would have gone better with them than the Paella. Service: the best part of Fishbone. Our server (unfortunately I dont remember his name - spoke with a British? accent) was excellent. He almost made up for the Paella. Almost. Ambience: not a bad date place. You are paying for it. Ideal for parties of 2-6.
Great food, great service..... a classy place! Parking: its free and lots of it Food : 5/5 |
Ordered sourdough, Ontario beets and paella. Had paella at the Friday Harbour location, and must say that restaurant did a better job. This time around the rice wasnt hot but warm and the pan is not hot as expected. But overall, the food and drinks were still great. Unfortunately the AC was broken at our visit so it was a too hot to enjoyably sit there.
Great service from all the staff our server was very helpful seeing it was our first time eating there she took the time to explain the menu to us. Food was delicious Dietary restrictions: Waiter was cautious and attentive when I explained my allergies
Lovely place with a delicious food, cozy atmosphere, very attentive servers, overall great experience.
Terrific experience. I will certianly go back. We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and everything was perfect. The food, the service, the atmosphere. Every bite was followed by a mmmmm. I highly recommend. I have travelled the world 10 times over and I have my top locations dating back over 20 years. Places in Portugal, Chile, Germany etc...Fishbone Aurora just made my top 10 list.
All around excellence!
Lovely place for some fresh and delicious seafood. Oysters are a must try and the drink Gobble Gobble is surprisingly very good. Only thing that Id say is negative is they allowed a small dog on the patio barking throughout the hour. Last time I checked animals werent allowed in restaurants unless they are service animals, this one clearly wasnt. Other than that minor annoyance with barking, its a great place to go.
Food was excellent but Im not here to rave about that. Im here to tell you that we had the most wonderful service, EVER, from Tara!! She is everything you could want from a server and more. So attentive, goes above and beyond, charismatic and so funny. She is a ROCK STAR!! Give her a raise. She definitely keeps the people coming back. I was visiting from Calgary but will make sure to go out of my way to dine here when I am in town again. Thank you Tara! We adored you! From your wild table: Sarah, Sarah and Karah
Dined here a few days ago for the first time with my family and it was a wonderful experience. The venue has a very nice ambiance and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
Aurora location not to par with innisfil and muscle man lake locations
Not as good as the other locations and service as well.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. The service was impeccable, we felt very well looked after and our server was kind, funny and very knowledgable about the menu and specials. The food was delicious - highly recommend the mussels & clams, and tagliatelle if you like seafood! The space itself is beautiful and they have a lovely outdoor patio that is part of the indoor/outdoor feel of the main room. Would highly recommend.
Great experience. Charlie was amazing. Food, service, ambience and price was all great. Will definitely come back and recommend.
Good seafood and service
The food is so good that makes a visit to Aurora worthwhile Parking: Easy to park in a mall setting place Food : 5/5 |
Great food, great ambiance, great customer service. Had a great time here, invited some friends for dinner. At the time, my friend was pregnant, and our server kindly asked the chef, if her order could be modified due her diet and they were able to provide us with great options. Thank you!
Our server Christine was absolutely fantastic Food was delicious. Definitely recommend it.
I dont even like fish, and this food is amazing!
Not only very expensive all the food are too sweet cooked with lot of sugar, and the fish not only has no test unfortunately served with cold potatoes. Ive been in lot of fish restaurants this was the worst
I dont even know how they got so many reviews. Food is bad and service is awful. $10 just for 3 peace of bread. Price is not matching at all with the quality of food and service. Dont waste your money here! Food
trustworthy
What an experience! I enjoyed it very much! Service, food & atmosphere - I would give to everything 100%. The food was super fresh & delicious. Spices and sauces were very right on point. Portions were fair. We were a team of 4, and we shared 5 appetizers. Honestly , I didnt think that I could handle more food. But my main entree - vegetarian pasta was outside of this world - cooked to perfection with perfectly selected vegetables. I also tried seabas. It was very tender and very delicious. What to say about dessert. That was the most delicious creme Brule I ever tried. Bravo. Compliments to the chef & to his team ! Vegetarian options: Options available for people with vegetarian diet Parking: Parking in plaza
Dined in a group of 4 for lunch. Great experience from start to finish. Will be back again soon. Food : 5/5
definitely one of the best restaurant in this area
We tried different kinds of fish, grilled and fried fish. All were nice! Also the appetizers are very interesting! Overall, a very good dining experience!
Really enjoyed celebrating my birthday here!
Amazing!
Seemed frozen old food.
First off I want to say Charles our server was amazing. The only part of the meal my wife and I liked were the oysters. I ordered the Paella and the seafood wasn t good. It had a strong fishy taste and there was grit in the shell fish. My wife ordered the tagliatelle and it was very fishy as well. The fish isn t fresh. Not worth the money. I don t know how it got such high reviews.
We had a quick business lunch, it was the perfect setting. Food was excellent (try the sprouts) but the service was exceptional. Great option to have in this neighborhood.
Great lunch ambiance, wonderful friendly, knowledgable server(Tarra), delicious food portuguese style. Excellent Moscatel Porto. Have been there many times, always a great experience and will go back soon.
An absolute gem of Portuguese cuisine! From delectable appetizers to an unforgettable seafood paella, every dish was a flavorful delight. The inviting atmosphere and attentive service made our visit truly memorable. Not cheap, but worth every penny for the exceptional quality and experience!
The Brussels sprout, the octopus and the arroz Valenciana were EXCELLENT. Service is outstanding. Food
Originally being from the north part of the city I frequently dined at the Friday Harbor location. Unbeknownst to myself the Aurora location is far closer and to my delight an examplary culinary experience all around. From the pleasant staff with exceptional wine knowledge, (in particular Claire) to the beautiful plating of their great variety of dishes. Fishbone aurora has quickly become a regular destination and a even more frequent recommendation to friends and family alike.!
Food is awesome and great service
Been here many times, never been disappointed in the food and service. Brussel sprouts is always a must have here and we tried the lamb shank feature this time. It was amazing and very flavourful.
First time to visit this location. We are impressed with the decors and atmosphere. The appetizer - oysters - were amazing. I had octopus - yummy. Mi hubby had steak frites which were not at the expected level - well cooked, but the meat was not at the expected level. Service was excellent, very attentive and the owner/chef talked to us. We will give another update when we will visit again.
Unfortunately the worst dinner experience weve had in awhile. It started with a very long wait for the food. Ordered the Steak and frites, the steak was very gamey, unpleasant to chew. The chicken dish wont even get 1 star review, it was thinly cut and therefore the only thing you could taste was the burnt oily crust, once again another hard and gamey protein option. (Literally black edges) changed the chicken to a salad which was a better option. The manager didnt bother to visit the table and apologize for both the wait and the fact someone is left hungry. That alone speaks volume on how they respect to their customers. If you wish to waste your time and money give it a try.
Very nice place, and food just so amazing. Thank you!
I would give it 0 points had that option. We booked at Aurora branch the place a week ahead for birthday and asked for some nice table at the corner. When we arrived, the place was given us was at the entrance instead with bad conditioner pointed right on us. After several attempts and discussions with manager Claire that demonstrated full rude ignorance the place was changed, but our journey there just started for that evening. Every customer there who had birthday received cake with candle on top, but in our case nothing was given and candle was brought on empty plate after our multiple reminds that it is birthday occasion. The ignorance of manager was remarkable and even waiter Daves tries to cover that rude behavior could not help. Behavior of Claire gave us only one will is to end this dinner and forget about this terrible place. Before this occasion me and my friends wanted to make their special occasions, but now as far as Claire works there they can forget about me, my friends and their friends to visit this place. Id never recommend anybody to visit this location.
Food was average, but Manager was terrible. I would not recommend. When you make a reservation, everybody are very nice and promise whatever you want, but when finally you arrive, you get surprised from rude service. Food

Incredible food and outstanding service. Absolutely lovely hidden gem in the heart of Aurora
Excellent food. Excellent service. Im really glad we discovered this restaurant. Weve gone twice in the last month and look forward to eating here again. I wasnt a fan of the steak. It tasted burnt and didnt sit at room temp long enough before cooking. The texture wasnt great. But everything else is amazing!
Recently spent some quality time with my wife at Fishbone kitchen & bar. While she indulged in the seafood options, I opted for a steak as Im not much of a seafood enthusiast. Unfortunately, the steak was a bit overdone and burnt, which left me somewhat disappointed. On a positive note, I must commend the staff for their exceptional service. They were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our dining experience more enjoyable despite the culinary letdown. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staffs warmth truly stood out. In conclusion, while the meal might not have met my expectations, the outstanding service from the staff is worth acknowledging. Kudos to the team for their efforts in creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Had an amazing experience at Fishbone Kitchen and Bar. There were no tables available so we sat at the bar. It was a wonderful experience. Our server was super friendly and gave great recommendation for food and drinks. It is a gem with good food and service. We ordered their famous brussel sprouts, ceviche, paella and chocolate cake. Everything was really really good. Highly recommend this place!

Great food and great service.
We very much enjoyed our meal. It included Brussel sprouts, tuna tartar and duck, plus Earl grey creme Brule. The food was excellent. Service by Sabrina was superb.
