The food was terrible, I am used to going to these type of bbqs, however the meat was shaved soooo thin and the marinate was almost just water. As soon as you put it on the bbq the meat was burnt. The fish was too soft to even put on bbq, the chicken looked like the stuff you throw out when you clean cut a whole chicken. For $120 for 2 people, would have had a lot better options to go to. The keg across the st for that wouldve been better. I came home hungry, I personally would not go to this place again.

Found bug in food. Would give negative stars., then billed incorrectly. Was promised 10% discount for cash. Plus 5% discount for bug in food. No discount given. Terrible service .

I ve been a loyal customer of Chakos for 10 years, and it remains my go-to spot for Korean BBQ. The service is consistently attentive and friendly, and the premium all-you-can-eat menu offers a fantastic variety of meats, sushi, and vegetables. The Aurora location, in particular, always surpasses my expectations.

Too expensive for the food poisoning this place gave me. Also got charged a 12% service fee that the hostess didnt bother mentioning when we asked about pricing before we were seated. Nice environment though.

Food quality here is worse than trash, all meat and seafood items were stale, tasted rather marshy and weird. How dare they to charge such premium prices??!! The WORST restaurant of the year

I really wanted to love this place as I wanted a chako near the place I moved to up north (I used to go to the Chakos in Sauga, but that closed permanently) but the food is not the same as it was before, it s like a completely different restaurant from the chakos in Sauga. My only issue is that the food tasted so bland the marinate that they do for the meats is missing a lot of flavour, even the kimchi taste bland. It s also hard to chew, seems like it s not fresh? Im not sure but the menu and taste is different from the other chakos I go to. The sushi and sashimi tho are really good! And the servers are amazing and very polite, the restaurant has a good ambience as well and clean washrooms! Overall it was okay, just a little disappointed with the food.

The food was great for its price! The server and the man who I assumed to be the owner were incredibly warm and friendly, always checked in on us, and provided efficient service. We could tell that they genuinely enjoyed what they do and wanted to make sure their guests were taken care of and had a good experience. We were having dinner for my brothers birthday and they made sure to make him feel very special with a dessert and song.

Great place for some Korean bbq...the food is always top notch, and you get quite a bit of food for what you pay for. The manager Tom is very good at his job, and did his best to provide quality service. He went out of his way to get me some Birthday dessert, and sang Happy Birthday with his staff! Servers are very friendly and quick at their jobs. I would go again to this location as soon as possible. 5 stars all around for me!

Exceptional service, very friendly staff, and great food. We got the premium menu which was about $4 more per person - the beef was high quality and delicious. Other reviews say the beef was poorly marinated but I disagree, the flavour was just right. We were also given a seasoning on the side for the AAA striploin that was delicious. We were treated well by all of the staff who were always one step ahead of us, including the manager who provided great service. All of our experiences here have been great, highly recommend!!

WATCH OUT FOR THE HIDDEN SERVICE FEES! I really love KBBQ so of course I decided to try this location instead of driving to markham. The food was ok but the service upset me! I asked for the bill it came out to be 111$ I only had brought 100$ cash. I was not expecting for it to be over 100$ because the sign outside says 40.99 per person. so I asked for the remainder of the bill (11$) to be put on to debit. The server then proceeded to bring me the machine with a total of 17$! Why did I get charged extra? Be upfront of all the extra service charges! I feel like they only want cash so they can claim less on there taxes. Very sketchy! I will not be back here rather take the drive for better food and service!

Good Value. We paid $46/per person on a weekend for the premium option. Beef was good they did not marinade the steak, instead we were given seasoning. The chicken was sliced too thin but over all the taste of their meat was good. We visited the restaurant at around 6:30pm where there was still light outside. The restaurant was dark and if you re sitting adjacent to the window it is really hard to see if the meat was cooked thoroughly. The light difference made my eyes and my head uncomfortable. Unfortunately the staff informed me that do not have shades for their window. That really took away from my dining experience. The staff are friendly and kept checking on us so that s a plus.

We found that the meat marinade was under seasoned. We had to use the bbq sauce for flavour.

Sushi chef wasnt in and they only offered 10% off no sushi. I found hair In my food twice.

I don t recommend that restaurant to people because staff was not friendly I was like 10 minutes waiting for some one come and give me table the staff was rude and not friendly don t order so much food they want push us out of door fast I never go back to this restaurant.

The evening started off great, with quick and attentive servers. However, towards the halfway point of our meal the service dropped off very hard. We could not get anybody to take our order ticket which led to a sub-par experience. Everything else was good. Please ensure your tables are taken care of throughout their entire dining experience, not just at the beginning. For the amount im paying, I expect excellent service.

The most delicious meat BBQ! The meat is so tender and juicy and delicious . Fish & sea food as well. Very friendly and helpful staff. Service is excellent. Value for money! Recommended 100%! Vegetarian options: Im not vegetarian but include a lot of veggie in my diet. The zucchini, pineapple & mushrooms were excellent! You can ask for veggies. Parking: Convenient location with lots of parking spots. Kid-friendliness: A lot of kids in the restaurant and they all seem to love it.

Terrible experience. My family of 9 went to Aurora for lunch. We had reservations and were seated at the back of the restaurant beside the washrooms. Server refused to move us to another table saying every table was reserved. Food was poor quality and seafood rubbery with no taste. Hugely expensive and will never return.

was a great and different experience. But once the place got busy the service started to lag and items ordered were forgotten. We recieved our bill of six adults at $350 they charged us a service charge 15% after-tax. No were was it mentioned or presented to us prior to dinning.

Best k-bbq I had so far. The premium option had great meats options. They are not cheap on the portions. I wouldnt dare waste any, since it feels like good meat. Even the salmon sashimi were thick, and melt in your mouth.

Nice and friendly Staff, I had a great time there and enjoy the food. However, the ordering system was a bit old and still on paper and the food was not as fresh as I expected. I was happy overall but I definitely see rooms to grow. This place does have the potential!

Been here a couple of times, probably not coming back anytime soon unless there s a dramatic turnaround. The sushi portions are bizarre, far too much rice and the sashimi is cut incredibly thick. Service is all over the place, the number of times we ve been here and they ve forgotten a myriad of items; sushi, wasabi, beef, vegetables, tongs, etc. Not to mention we ve been shamed twice now into paying for a roll we didn t eat. I get not wasting food, but damn. Really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt of having a bad day since I loved coming here, but it s gotten out of hand with this place.

The manager and serving staff were very friendly and warm. Our waitress Patricia was excellent and such a gem! This is the best Chako branch we ve been to. The staff were so quick to bring the food and even personally went to every table asking if people wanted anything. Definitely recommend coming here!

Came here to celebrate my mother s birthday and we were treated very respectfully. As a kind gesture they even provided a birthday cake and a birthday greet. By far the best well you can eat Korean BBQ Ive ever went to. Very nice and pleasant service which is usually unusual in places like that. Good foot selection including awesome steaks if youre taking the premium option. I will definitely come back and recommend my friends to go there as well.

It was one of our best food experiences as a family! Our 7 year old son enjoyed doing the BBQ for all us along with eating it. He was engaged the whole time that he did not ask for screen time even once. So this is a place for all parents to take their fussy eaters :) The food was delicious - ribs, edamame and green salad were our fav! The hostess was very sweet to explain all things. We were there on a Thursday night, and I felt like I was eating the leftover food from the back of the fridge. Legit left half of everything untouched. Everything looked and tasted so old. Absolutely disgusting. I paid $100 so they could serve us their garbage. I Do not recommend this place, nor i think we should support a business willing to serve garbage to its customers. Our green peppers had mold on it I couldnt get myself to eat anything after that. What a waste of money.

This is our go to Korean BBQ. Food is tasty, place is clean and servers are accommodating. Just one con than we did not know of, they charge tip by default as part of the bill.

Chako is really dark and the environment doesn t feel very welcoming, the price is so ridiculous plus there is already a 12% service charge and we can choose to leave extra tips. The service is pretty good, food is not fresh it smells bad and looks old.

Been to this location twice now before leaving a review just to make sure it wasnt a bad day. Im sad that this location is not the same flavor as the east beaver creek location. Obviously its different chef but maybe different owners? None of the meat is seasoned or marinated. I asked the server and they said they do season the meat but its not visible and it doesnt taste like it. You have to use the BBQ sauce on the table to pour on to the raw meat so that there is flavor and the meat will carmelize on the grill. Also their rare beef is shaved too thick so it tastes rubbery. The sushi is fresh and the service is awesome. Ill have to go to the other location until this location seasons the meat.

My teen has been bugging for a long time to come and give it a try. Today we finally did, but it was our 1st and at the same time our last time. The service was pretty good, no complaints. Which I cant say about the food - we got the premium menu for $47/pp. I got sashimi and sushi in addition to the initial items they give - both had no taste of any kind, sashimi was warm and we didnt get the amount of pieces we indicated on the order paper. Miso had a weird plain taste. Soy sauce was extremely salty and unpleasant. Dry steak rub was extremely salty as well. Water had no ice but was brought in with a slice of lemon, which didnt do any justice. Some of the beef cuts were extremely fatty and not appetizing at all. And so was lamb. None of the meats were marinated long enough to retain any flavor. The staff offered to change our grill eventually, which we did, but nobody has ever thought of offering our little plastic sushi plates. All the flavours from all the sauces were making all the foods taste exactly the same. My son was really looking forward to trying it all but even he said that the money theyre charging was not worth it. For $50 per person we could have enjoyed another REAL all you can eat or any other higher end restaurant. With everyones stoves going, they didnt even bother turning the air conditioner high enough to make customers feel cool enough. When we asked for our bill I very carefully reviewed it and a great thing that I did - they added a 12% tip to the total and their interac was also asking for a tip. I purposely skept it since they already charged it without even informing us of it. Im a very successful Google reviewer for many years and always take lots of pictures, but not this time, as there was nothing worthy to photograph for sharing. I will NOT recommend this place at all. Dont waste your money on this place.

Check off what you want on the menu, watch the grill in the middle of your table heat up before your eyes and in a few moments your food is delivered. Enjoy the experience of cooking your own food at your own pace and to your liking. Food is fresh, flavourful and good quality. Servers are amazing, they come around non-stop to top up your dishes and fulfill additional food requests. All you can eat! Vegetarian options: Dont want meat? Then just order veggies. The pineapple is delicious when cooked on the grill. Or would you rather onions, green peppers, edamame, seaweed, kimchi, or pickled radish and carrots mix. Dont forget the rice! Parking: The restaurant is located in a strip mall with storefront parking. Kid-friendliness: When we arrived, there were kids; some were sitting nicely with their families while a couple others were yelling and being herded by their parents, but it was over quickly. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is accessible by wheelchair and there is room to wheel around the restaurant. Front doors are push button activated.

First time writing a review. The restaurant was great and the staff being kind. Has a selection of food to choose from. Unfortunately, Im writing this review while on the toilet seat. I recall the food having a hint of odur when i grilled it but did not pay too much attetion to it as i trusted the place. Please make sure the food are fresh and not contaminated.

Staff and food was amazing

I have to be honest This restaurant is grossly overpriced and I will not return unless someone else is picking up the bill. Wasabi was oxidized and stale, Sushi was ok, soy sauce stale and oxidized... ginger was old.... plates old and used.. THEN.... they put a 12% service charge on the bill that according to two of the wait staff most of it doesent hit the wait staffs pocket. I am getting personally tired of these restaurants deciding they are entitled to service fees as a default. I am a generous tipper and was a professional ling apron waiter for 10 years. My family and I made a decision today that we will not eat again in places like this.

It was really a different experience! First time on a Korean barbecue and we like it. Kids also had a good time! Service was simple but good. Food is nice and seems fresh. Lots of optios for all. There is also sushi, misso, and lots of vegetables. To finalize, when you think there is no more room left, theres a really nice ice cream for desert! We had a really nice time.

I came here for a friends birthday on Saturday, and it was a really great experience. We got quite a bit of food, and the seating was really comfortable as well. The food was good, with a great selection and variety to explore new flavor combos. I havent actually done korean bbq before, especially not the kind where you cook it yourself, but I had a blast watching the food cook and tasting everything. I will say the only suggestion I would make is maybe a bit more of a guide for people who are eating there for the first time. I ended up being really nervous I was doing things wrong, and I didnt want to ruin any of the equipment or the stuff being prepared.

The place is comfortable and cozy . The service is excellent with very accommodating stafff.

I came here last year in 2021 and the food was amazing. I went this month and I can t say I had the same experience. I feel like they were hawks watching me eat and I couldn t be in peace. And also the bean sprouts are my favourite part and they were rotten I was so disappointed. The good thing was sushi though.

This location has the best service I ve ever had for a Korean style bbq. They are so fast to deliver drinks and food and also exceptionally quick at removing used dishes. Today was our very bad experience with the lady partly served us. She was very rude: never communicated well to customers, never responded in good ways to all customers that I observed sometimes during our meal, and 3 times came to us after we called 2nd round to ask finished yet . We only had been dine-in over 1hour at the time she asked. Bill came. She charged us normal price, so i asked senior discount 20% as the sign at the front. 1st of all she said nope, then 1s later she asked my friend ID. Then rudely took the receipt back to change the number. She came out, then i asked we paid cash that we should have 5% off. She said nope bc already discount for senior??? Was it the same? And also listed that she didn t charge the baby even the baby under 1yr. We didn t not ask the copy of receipt but then i thiught i should show in review. We finished and left. I came to the receptionist to ask her-that lady for the copy of receipt. She said bla bla then said the original receipt Thrown out when i ask to take pic. And then finally we knew that she was wife manager s. We went to this place this second time and very unhappy. Even my boy 15yrs had said when were eating that the server today (that lady) was not nice as the long hair woman we met before. I rate 1 star honestly especially for the lady and her responsibilities today 18/7/2022.

Terrible food quality. My digestive system is currently having a cataclysm of gmo exposure. If I wake without a gastric bypass I will be grateful.

Food was low quality - vegetables were rather dry, looked like a bunch of costco veggies chopped up and thrown into the bins to hand out to tables. Meat was not cut well, there were big chunks that we had to cut ourselves to split up. Again, the quality was noticeably subpar compared to places like Gyubee Japanese grill in downtown. The menu options were rather limited in variety as well. Overall it was not worth the price point.

Ok experience. Current Price 39.99 for weekends and holidays. The meat quality is so so with the same sauce for all the dishes. I rather spend that cash at Gyubee there I felt the quality of meat and more marinated variety of sauces was better value for the steep price.

Great food but OUT TO LUNCH on pricing. For $40 a person you can go to The Keg and not cook for yourself.

This is the best Korean BBQ I have ever been to! Food was amazing, the staff was very polite and checking on us every few minutes to remove empty dishes from the table and refilling our water. This was a very nice experience. This is a great spot to take a girl on a date or to take your family and friends!

I cannot stress how much I love this place! We drive out of our way to come to this Chakos, and have been here quite a few times. The quality of the food is always great, and the service is amazing. Super polite and lovely staff. Would recommend 10/10. You will not be disappointed.

Called and made lunch reservations for the Monday. Yeah we are opened all good. Arrive Monday and they are closed. Needless to say looked stupid with my business meeting. Staff should know when a restaurant is opened or closed.

One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants Ive been to. A fun experience for all. Definitely a great place to have a date night or just a nice night out with family or friends. Food is delicious and offers a good selection of items to grill. Weve always enjoyed Chako and will definitely go again.

Good food, easy to find. We got there and asked for a quiet place. They asked us to wait while they cleared up a table for us at the far corner. We were seated within a few minutes. The food was really good. It was weekend so lamb and beef was abundant. Service was good and communication was very good. When the bill arrived the service charge was on the bill and pointed out. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to the next visit.

My dining experience here was fantastic, the servers quickly delivered our food and kindly poured us water and took away the trays. the food was nicely seasoned and tasted delicious as there were also a lot of food to choose from such as sushi, beef and calamari. My experience here was a great one as I enjoyed the food with my friends.

Delicious food, pleasant friendly staff. A great restaurant in an ideal location. Facilities are not design for families with young children though, washroom doesnt have a baby change table. Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats. But no change table in the washroom for a baby.

Fantastic food and service. We had a party of 8. All staff were helpful and friendly. The food was quick to be served. Dishes were cleared quickly. The wait staff always noticed when drinks needed refreshing. This was the first time all 8 of us had been to this restaurant and we all will return likely with others! Also, a great atmosphere and decor!

I absolutely love Chako. The food is so delicious (the beef is my favourite thing ever), and the staff are so attentive. Dishes were brought out quickly and empty dishes were cleared away just as quickly, as well as water being filled up and the changing of the grill. Friendly, attentive and efficient service from the minute you walk in the door. It seems pricey until you realize just how much food you are getting and the quality of it.

This place is one of the BEST Korean BBQ all you can eat restaurants I have ever been to. Fast service, great quality food and even better service!!! Would recommend this location to EVERYONE!

Went to this restaurant on a Saturday night, most all you can eat places are more expensive on the weekend. Although we found 2 hairs in our food, no one came to check on us until we flagged them down. The restaurant was not even very busy. Added a 12% service charge to our bill of 4 people for what service I m not sure. We still ended up paying over $200 for 4 people even with the 5% cash discount.

We had a wonderful experience with chako, service was wonderful and the quality of the food was great. For a family of 4 we paid ~$180 with the tax+tip . Kids enjoyed the most as they can cook for them self. The meats was a bit sweet for our taste but It was the way that they marinated them . Recommend Chako .

If you are looking for amazing food and service this is the place for you! This was my first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant and the staff were patient with my questions and made great suggestions as to the amount of food we should order. We got the Premium Menu and the meat was top quality and so tender! It is an All You Can Eat restaurant and my family took full advantage. The Kimchi was amazing, and the sushi was delicious. The grill was spotlessly clean as was the restaurant itself. The staff were helpful and friendly and very efficient. We will be back for sure and cannot wait to bring friends!

My family came here for a late dinner (8:30, we have two kids 11yo and 10yo). Advised our waitstaff, Enid, that we were very hungry. She made every effort to serve us quickly which was greatly appreciated. Together with our other server, Frank, they made our dining experience very nice! Needless to say, we felt the service was first class. As for the food, we were very impressed with the quality of the meats as well as the sashimi. We did order from the premium menu but I believe it was well worth it. Anyhow, we would come back to this restaurant if we re ever in the area again and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Japanese/Korean style bbq.
