Second time at this establishment, first time takeout, this time eat in. Service was friendly and informative, our server was just chatty enough and was accommodating with changing a dish due to allergies. Place was clean and simple, our table was a little wobbly, but our server also warned us about that. The milk tea and coffee/tea mix was excellent, smooth and good flavour. Red Bean drink was ok, wasn't the best we've had but was pretty good. Food wise, borscht soup was nice! had a bit of heat which was a nice surprise, the Chinese soup was very light, but comforting on a cold fall day. We ordered 3 main dishes, 2 rice and 1 noodle. Portion sized were generous and prices very reasonable. The olive and beef fried rice was spectacular! seasoned perfectly and the right amount of wok hei. The braised beef with vegetable rice was a little under seasoned for our taste, but was very tender. The Shanghai stir fried noodle dish was quite bland. The noodles had a good "mouth-feel" but overall, the dish was a bit underwhelming. However, with that said, it was our 5 year oldest favourite dish as he loves noodles and gently-flavoured dishes are often his preference. overall a great experience and a solid 4 ⭐️. will definitely be back to try other dishes.
This restaurant has been buzzing on my feed, and I can see why. Given the limited options for Hong Kong cuisine in Aurora compared to places like Markham and Richmond Hill, this spot is a gem. We ordered the A89 Lava French Toast and A103 Baked Pork Chop & Chicken Fillet on Fried Rice from their afternoon tea menu. Wow, what a steal for the prices! The French Toast was delicious—perfectly fried with a sinful salted egg yolk filling. The portion sizes were impressive, especially for the price point. The only downside was the waiting time, which was a bit long. We will be back next time we’re in the area!
No one took our order for us and had to go up to the counter to order ourselves. Two order took almost 30 minutes. we ordered Chicken wings and Fries, and a Lava french toast. Chicken Wings are a disappointment. Each wing is tiny, almost the same size as popcorn chickens… As for the Lava French toast, the filling was supposed to be lava, but it was not. also very disappointed. We also needed more ketchup while eating and after we ask them for more, they took a long time to get it.
It’s a blessing to have another proper option for Cantonese style cuisine north of Elgin Mills. I’d like to give 3 1/2 stars to this restaurant but there is no half stars so I’ll leave it at 3, this couldn’t be a 4 star restaurant because of inconsistency in service and food quality. The service quality had been improved recently. The younger guy in the team is a lot more attentive and polite with empathy, him alone would be 4-5 star but the other 阿姐’s have attitude issues in general. One of them even screamed at us when we told her that she took our order incorrectly. The food again is inconsistent, I had a pretty bad 海南雞飯 one day, and had some decent dishes another time. The 豬頸肉 (in the picutre) does not tasted 炭燒, I wasn’t expecting this to be spectacular but really wasn’t the teriyaki sauce on it to be cold. They have an all day menu so there is no morning specials. Price is fair given the portion is on the bigger side. I would visit again simply because there isn’t much other choices around here.
Like many other reviews have mentioned, the wait times here are pretty rough. You can call and make reservations ahead of time though! Besides that the staff is friendly and we enjoyed our baked pasta dish and chicken rice! Flavours were on point and rice was reasonable, solid 4 stars for a HK cafe in Aurora!
We came here for afternoon tea. We ordered 乾炒牛河 (Beef Stir-Fried Flat Noodle) and 鴛鴦意粉(Baked Pork Chop & Chicken Fillet with 2 Sauce on spaghetti noodle). Both dishes came with large portion. The beef noodle was excellent, with plenty of beef slices and 好有鑊氣. The two sauce spaghetti came with a lot of meat. The pork chop on the red sauce and the chicken on the white sauce were both very tender. The red sauce was very sweet and ketchup-based which I liked but my partner didn’t. He however liked the white sauce which I didn’t since I could taste the coconut oil they made it with. The service here is really good for a Cantonese restaurant. Overall, the food are great value for the price and I would come back again.
Went there on a Sunday morning. We were the first customers that morning. The server was nice and friendly. Food took 20minutes to arrive. Order the house special noodle soup (theres a lot a different meats in it but overall not much flavour); fried beef rice noodles was very nice; chicken wings and fries were also flavourful and crispy. The fried beef noodles and wings with fires both came with drinks. Milk tea and coffee mix were great! Overall nice experience. Will come again
Update on 2024-09-13 I do not recommend this restaurant anymore. They changed ownership and the chef. It makes the quality of food drastically decreases. Very good food especially the Sweet and sour pork, fried hor with Satay Beef, Stew Beef Brisket with noodle, HoiNam Chicken rice, Hor Lap Hak drink, HK style milk tea ....... . I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Stir fried sticky rice and the Running Chicken. The rice is excellent. Don't miss them. Best in GTA. Thank you very much for your coming in Aurora. For best food, a good long wait is worthy. Hope the restaurant can allow online reservation in near future. It can help a lot on management.
This restaurant was good when I came a few months ago, I went there again a few days ago with my friends and found that food quality there drastically dropped. Not mentioned the weird rice and soup serving style which is now, that makes you feel you are dining a rough and cheap Chinese mess hall meal. And if you are looking for an authentic HK style restaurant, just skip this one.
This place really gone down ..( we been coming since this restaurant opened ) some said changed owner. I realize staffs left, they had some good staffs in the past. Food quality definitely gone down. The worst is the new owner probably want to do it all by herself and yet she has horrible customer service skills like she don t even know how to communicate with people ! Will not return
This is an authentic hk cafe. The wait time is long so come prepared. On average every time we went on a Saturday it was 45 mins to 1 hour wait time.
Delicious everything
Food is good, and the portion is very reasonable for the price. But they are so short staffed. It takes a long time for you to place an order, and also get your food. There are constantly flies flying around which makes me uncomfortable.
We have been waiting for 30mins for food
This place is going to need some help with service. Our food came out in a somewhat reasonable time but Ive witnessed another table with a meal waiting for an hour to a point where there is no point eating it anymore. Not just 1 table but multiple tables. For sure they are short staff and I suspect the owner is trying to make a better business margin so they can sell the restaurant at a higher price.
The waiter was very unfamiliar with the ordering system. After placing an order, he had to ask repeatedly what he ordered. The speed of serving food was even more disappointing.
Its delicious, and the portion size and price are right. I ordered Hainanese chicken, fish-flavored eggplant stew, and pineapple sweet and sour pork. Highly recommend the Hainanese chicken. Next time I will try other dishes one by one
I don t even care what the food is like. I ve been waiting for ONE HOUR and THIRTY minutes for takeaway and I still haven t gotten my food. Edit: food was generous sized. Curry beef was watery and flavourless. I was called back thirty minutes after getting my order because the payment didn t go through on my card. That s how disorganized this place was. It will be sometime before I try this location again
The service attitude is very poor. The waiters are indifferent. The food tastes terrible. Don t come.
Both quality and service both declining... Wouldnt recommend.
Good place in the community for take away.
Here the Sweet & sour pork is the worst that I have had, corn starch more than pork, ridiculous Besides, the milk tea is not good too
Food ok. Service ok The chefs are major reason to deserve ONE star because they were swearing loudly in Cantonese and it was really disturbing and annoying; they had a bad word in every sentence they were saying and they were talking constantly the entire time we were dining;
The food is delicious, the amount of food is worth the price, there are many choices to choose from, the service is excellent, highly recommended.
Authentic and good Hong Kong food.
First time at this cafe. Boy, I have never been so disappointed. Ordered the following: 2 Sizzling Plate - Sirloin Steak with Onion Gravy 1 Sizzling Plate - Mixed Steak with Onion Gravy All three plates were bland, no flavor what so ever. Never will I return to this place. The hostess didnt even try to correct the problem. She didnt even offer Ketchup. The steaks werent even marinated, asked the steak to be cooked rare, when it arrived it was cooked medium well. What a disappointment.
Very hot restaurant, I won t go there again during summer !
It was good when first opened, and now the food quality dropped significantly. Service is very slow and not organized. Will not come again
Absolute bad review! ! There is nothing to say. Every time we come to queue up, we are cut in line for no reason. We see others taking seats behind us, and finally they are cut in front of us I will not go to a restaurant with no offline lines again. , and I suggest you consider it yourself. Oh, by the way, guests who were walking in jumped in the queue directly, causing the guests who got the number to be delayed. Whats the point? ? So don t be so honest in queuing in the future
We went to try their satay beef noodles , which tasted very average. Beef quality and how they marinated the meat is not that great, plus soup is luke warm. Stir fried ho fun and beef is quite good, not greasy.
Reasonable price, efficient service, good portion of food.
Weve gotten takeout here many many times and its always been excellent. However, Im not sure if the regular chef was on vacation last night. The food was subpar. I get it, this place is very very popular. Still had to wait 15m just to pick up cooked food since theres a line up for pickup. Hopefully theyll be able to maintain high standards even when their main chef isnt around. Vegetarian options: You have to specifically request vegetarian and theyll accommodate a dish for you. Its still really good.
Not impressed, purely just their location and lack of choices in the area for HK style food got them the business.
We ordered the special combo after 4 pm with the compliment of red bean ice. The portion of baked pork chok rice and fried beef noodle are regular but the baked pork chok is not baked at all and the portion of the red bean ice is small.
Maybe its the fresh Aurora air (relative to Toronto), or maybe the food here is fantastic
We have been here a few times and were not disappointed. Good portions are great, items we ordered were to our liking. Service every time was so wonderful even though they were busy. They were so polite and made sure to check on us. Place is a little small, but doesnt bother us. Its a typical atmosphere other than the friendly and accommodating service! There is usually a bit if a wait, but its expected and a good sign that it is a popular place to eat! Price was very reasonable, we over ordered for 5 adults and 1 child which came to $90.00 after tax. We will definitely be returning.
Erhe cuisine is 29.99, including rice and soup! The scrambled eggs with shrimps are very tender and smooth, but the fish-flavored eggplant is a bit sweet, has no fish flavor, and is very greasy! The reception was very polite! It took about 20 minutes to get a table on National Day!
The Portuguese chicken pasta only tastes like raw pasta, and the beef brisket is not very fresh and has huge chunks of fat.
Food quality is good but inside was very hot, same like 30C indoor, hope they will improve AC !
very welcoming atmosphere with an authentic taste of traditional hong kong style cuisine! also had a lovely discussion with the owner; super friendly and attentive :) note: the hong kong style milk tea is a must-have!
Very unorganized service. I have placed two orders with this restaurant. The first time, I waited for more than 30 minutes despite having placed my order an hour earlier. The second time, I still waited for about 15 minutes, even after informing the staff that I was just picking up an order I had called in an hour ago. When I finally received my food, it had been sitting prepared beside the counter. While I would rate the food three stars, the very poor service means I will not return.
They take on way more than they can handle! We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant. Very small restaurant - its a long wait for a table. Very small waiting area. Once we sat down. Waited for menus. Quickly ordered our meals. Water was brought to the table and the starter soups. Then we sat for over 30 minutes waiting for our dinners and drinks. We inquiried a number of times about our food, as well as, our drinks. Too many excuses were given and only when we asked. When our dinners were finally brought - they were staggered. My dinner wasnt brought until 15 minutes later. We ended up packing up the food. We had customers standing right in front of our table, leaning against our booth. Its too small a kitchen for the amount of phone takeouts. Many customers were standing around waiting for their takeout orders - upset. Ruined our family dinner. Left a very negative impression. Wouldnt return.
Huge portions, great variety on the menu and everything ordered was delicious. Service was awesome, well recommended!
Weekly customer and I see no improvement in service. The waitresses are very friendly, however, the place is overwhelmed and lack organization skills. Definitely not a place for you if you are strive in time. Great place to kill an hour or two while waiting for food . Chefs strategy is slowly delivering one dish at a time. We ordered dinner for two in addition to a side vegetable dish. Patiently waited for our second and third dishes after finishing our first with two bowls of rice, we were 80% full with disappointment. Be prepared for additional charges without notification such as take out containers for leftovers. Have the decency to tell your customers if you are going to charge them. Just a thought
Authentic HK style cafe. The food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. Tried a few things already and highly recommend the baked rice/pasta or HK style curry. Loved the beef stir fry noodles, not oily at all. The place is very busy because the food is so good. The service is slow though (because they are so busy). Sometimes the drink does not show up until after the food is done. The food is usually about a 30 minute wait from the time you order (which is slow for a HK cafe). But this place is totally worth the wait. If you havent tried this place yet, you are missing out.
The black pepper ham noddles are amazing
Amazing Hong Kong style food. However they are always super busy, have long wait for take out and to dine in. On busier days, such as the weekend, they can be disorganized. They got my food order wrong, and another time they forgot my soup. They gave me 10% discount for the wrong food order.
Came on a weekday for lunch. (4/5 ) The satay beef rice noodle was pretty good, but did not have the option to substitute macaroni. (4/5 ) We also got the beef brisket curry rice. Was a decent size for the price. The downside of this place is that it s always super busy and hard to get a table. Would recommend takeout. Overall a nice addition to Homg Kong style food in Aurora.
Satay Beef Pan-Fried Vermicelli - Its A55 +$2 to switch Stir-Fried noodles into Pan-Fried Vermicelli
Great portion for the money. Authentic flavor. Aroma is very appetizing as soon as you walk into the restaurant
I usually dont leave reviews but this place had the audacity to forget our order and pretend thay they didnt. 35 minutes for a sweet and sour pork. The icing on the cake was when a table that came in after us got theirs first. Food is not bad, but not the best either. If they are that busy, they probably wont notice if I start helping out in the kitchen as well.
Love their food, its a very busy place so we usually have a early dinner there. Love their cold ice lemon tea and cold milk tea.
Golden Harbor I ordered takeout by phone at 16:45, and arrived at the store at 18:15. It was not ready yet. I said I had to pick up the food before I started cooking. I waited in the store for 20 minutes. It s like this every time
On Saturdays at lunchtime, theres usually a 30-minute wait to get in. I tried the off-menu salt and pepper squid, and it was absolutely fantastic! The texture was crunchy, and the flavor was delightful. I also enjoyed the mixed meat on a sizzling plate; it was flavorful and came in generous portions. Their tomato soup was good, and I appreciated that they didnt skimp on the lemon in their lemon tea! However, one thing that wasnt great was that the noodles in the soup were overcooked and already starting to break when you scooped them. Additionally, the service flow was still a work in progress during this busy hour, but you could see that most staff were trying their best. We will be back for sure!
The baked rice hits the spot and the Ovaltine lava french toast is tasty
This is one of the few Hong Kong restaurants in the north that tastes good! I have been here many times, but every time there is a problem with the seating arrangement. Takeaways are always given priority. There is a long queue at the walkin, and you have to wait for a long time even if you get a reservation. The food tastes okay, but the queue problem is not properly handled and it is a waste of time. This time we arrived before 6 oclock and got our card number. After waiting for 40 minutes, there was no one in front of us and it was almost our turn! It was already past 6:40 for grandma, and she actually arranged a phone reservation for 6:30. Although it was difficult for us to make arrangements because there were so many people, our two families agreed that we could have one table for 3 people, and another table for 5 people! I drove over at 5:30 and kept calling to make an appointment, but I couldn t get through! Why was the seat assigned immediately after the one at 6:30 came? Is there any VIP difference? ? ? ? ? So I decided to change restaurants! No more waiting, so depressing! As a boss or manager, why can I prioritize a late phone reservation when I know there are so many people queuing up in the restaurant? And why cant we do it on a first-come, first-served basis? After all, we have been here many times, and many of the restaurants employees are fellow residents, and we have had pleasant chats with each other. It feels like we are not VIPs, but we can see that those people are not VIPs either. In the end, the boss said sorry...
I have a love and hate relationship with this place. I love the food for its authentic homemade Cantonese style dishes, but the wait can be tiresome. Maybe its because its one of the very few authentic Chinese places to go to in Aurora and Newmarket. But man, the 1 hour wait in the dining room is getting ridiculous. The fact that I bring a pack of cards to play with my 4 and 7 year old is getting out of hand. We would come here every weekend and anticipate for an hours wait. Mind you, other families just throw on a tablet for their kid(s). Otherwise, food is great, and generous portions and prices are affordable. This is why we wait for an hour to eat. Keep in mind that takeout isnt that much faster IMO. Enjoy, but be prepared to WAIT for your food.
Eat left Cantonese fried river and dry fried beef river The taste of the album is a bit bland, but it s not bad at all The bottom of the fried noodles is crispy and soft, and the fried noodles are very good, but the taste is really not rock solid. But it s just as delicious as milk tea and soup. If you want to go there, it is recommended to make a reservation. It s very difficult to wait for a table.
Next time we ll dine in. Food was great! The Hong Kong lemon tea is strong! Kept me up all night
Got here at 7:30 at the door for a seat. Staff paid no attention to the people waiting to get a seat, we left realizing at the restaurant closes at 9:00 and we were still there at 8:30.
Delicious food, friendly staff !!! 5 stars !!!
Good food.
New restaurant, taste good, reasonable price.
Fantastic food and exceptional service. This place was packed with customers but the wait was worth it. The food is delicious and priced very well. The combos are great value and a must try. Friendly staff and a cheerful ambiance make dining here amazing!
This restaurant is near my house, by walking distance its located in a plaza. The food here is amazing, it lives up to my high expectations, Im always greeted with friendly smiles and the atmosphere is energetic and happy. The service is excellent and the staff always attends to your needs right away and give good recommendations regarding the food. Ive known the staff for a while now and Sophie is such a pleasant person she always hugs me when I see her and makes lovely conversation with me. I highly respect the owner she works very hard and is so sweet she really does care a lot for her business. I recommend you to check out this place for traditional Hong Kong style food. 10/10
The portions of all the meals are quite large. The black pepper sauce in the mixed grilled meal lacked the black pepper flavor. The pork neck omelette rice had many pieces of meat. It was a pity that the bamboo braised duck had a sour taste. I don t know if the duck meat was not fresh or any other reason made it taste sour, anyway, it is not my cup of tea. The iced tea with lemon is good because other restaurants asked for less ice, but they still come with a lot of ice. As for the feeling after eating, maybe my stomach and intestines were a little weak, and I had some stomachache and diarrhea on the way back home.
The food and services were very good. This is probably the best Chinese cha caan teeng I could find in Aurora. Although the wait times can be a bit long if it is busy but the staffs are very friendly and service is very good.
Best Hong Kong Cafe in the area! We will be back!
Their wok fried dishes are really good and milk tea is very smooth. Great value and portion too
Update with dinner experience: More staff in the restaurant and the operation is smoother than before. Tried their curry chicken. I like it as the sauce is the same taste as the famous Hong Kong street food - curry fishball. (Spicy level is 4.5 out of 5) Deep fried chicken with rice is not bad. The Portuguese rice are my kids favorite and its really good. Lunch experience: Food is good and the staff is friendly there. They just opened so it may take some time to modify their operations. Worth to try if you are not in a rush.
Best Chinese Food in the neighborhood
it took 45 mins for the first dish came to our table. I saw many customers left because they cant wait. food is ok but the wait time is too long. same for take out, people wait for a long time. the kitchen has a major issues here.
Golden Harbor Chinese Restaurant offers a pleasant glimpse into Hong Kongs culinary scene. With a menu highlighting classic dishes and an ambiance reminiscent of the citys bustling cafes, its a charming dining spot. Service is friendly, and portion sizes are ample, though prices are slightly higher. Overall, its worth a visit for those craving an authentic taste of Hong Kong. Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly due to the limited space accommodating high chairs and boosters. Leave the stroller in the car if you intend to dine in.
Arriving at 6:20pm, there were 3 numbers waiting, one for 2 people and two for 4 people. (Numbers are 31, 32, 33) 6:40 There are 2 women and 1 man with 4 children (7 people in total). The woman and the staff who arranged the seating are the ear-biting boy. Another person named Jin booked a table for 6 people It is not confirmed whether the 6 people named Jin are at the scene. The staff has already moved the 2-person table that was originally empty and is waiting for the 4-person table against the wall to be paid. merge The person surnamed Jin was not there at all! First! To be fair, we should immediately take over the stage Split into 2 people and 4 people to arrange for waiting guests but! The staff actually arranged for a total of 7 people, 3 adults and 4 children, to be seated. It s not reasonable I was willing to wait an extra 15 minutes before being seated Jian Nidu operates a small store with reasonable prices and quality, but there are no similar options nearby. I support you Gans seating gameplay is to support you and me! ! To be honest: I have a lot of choices of dishes, and if the quality of the production is acceptable I understand that because the place is shallow and narrow, it is not easy to operate. Shopkeeper! There is room for improvement come on! ! !
Been visiting a few times already ! From really slow service at the beginning but now has improved! Food are great and big portions! A Hong Kong style restaurant Now this place became my 2nd kitchen, we visit at least twice a week! Avoid busy time here go before 5:30pm or after 8pm , always busy after 6 !
Been here a few times for both lunch and dinner now. The restaurant is quite clean, and service is good too. The food is not bad, and portion sizes are good for the prices. The food does come a bit on the slower side, especially if the restaurant is busy, but the service and quality of the food makes it worth the wait . Would definitely come back and recommend!!
Authentic HK style restaurant. Delicious food. Great value. Huge portion. Attentive customer service.
I have been here many times, but every time there is a problem with the seating arrangement. Takeaways are always given priority. There is a long queue at the walkin, and you have to wait for a long time even if you get a reservation. The food tastes okay, but its a waste of time if you cant handle the queue properly
The food is very good here and the price is reasonable. The soup that came with the meal was big, much bigger other typical Chinese restaurants. The service is also very good and the staff is very friendly to kids. I will definitely come back.
Good price & big portion. It s too far from home. Otherwise definitely would come here more often
Food was good, but not excellent. Service was good. Atmosphere was average! We went there for lunch. We are 3 ladies and ordered 3 dishes. Portion was large. Lemon ice tea was good. Hot milk tea was good. We waited around 15 mins for our table. It was very busy at 12:30pm. Food
Finally an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant in the Aurora/Richmond Hill area. Only open for 5 months and I ve lived in the area for 20 years so this is a long time coming. I almost don t want to write this review cause I don t want more people to know how amazing it is. I m Chinese and a foodie and have dined at the best places in Toronto and HK. We ordered honey pepper fish, sweet and sour pork, beef brisket curry with rice, house rice noodles and every dish was WOW. The staff are so friendly, it feels like home. Had dinner for the first time last night and heading back with more family tomorrow morning. I almost never write reviews so it s this good.
Food was so good, drinks even better. Everyone is nice and sweet despite how crazy busy they are. Suggestion: book in advance
Bad services
Came here for lunch on a Saturday during the busy weekend. Even though there were about 5-6 tables ahead, the wait wasn t that bad so it s good. The atmosphere reminds me local hong kong style restaurants in Hong Kong within a local neighborhood. Ordered hainanese chicken rice and curry chicken rice. Both I can say the quality was very so-so but maybe it s only my own opinion The rice was a bit too dry and hard probably good for fried rice but not on dish rice.. also.. my own preference as it goes better with sauce.. I can see other tables ordered fried rice noodles and they actually looked not bad.. so maybe it was just what I ordered wasn t their best dishes. For chicken dark meat lovers this is good for you guys as they provide dark meat on these dishes. The service was actually took quite a long time for ordering food, getting the bill and asking for change. Overall, in my personal opinion I prefer the other one in the neighborhood but it s good that there are more selections in the area. Thanks.
Good value of food and portion. We like fried sticky rice and Singapore style fried noodle . Tea time menu is good too. Staffs are nice and attentive. Seats are limited and a bit tight. Likely have to wait for 15mins during peak hours.
Came here for the first time with my family. All I can say is their food and drinks are delicious and my mom loves the staff here. It also feels like a cozy cafe!
Another fave cha cheng teng to add to my list. Not only taste great but big portions I like the borscht soup and baked pork chop rice a bit sweet just the way i like it going to be back for more
It s okay to order takeout many times!
Waited 50 minutes for takeout that they said would be ready in 20 minutes. Turns out the food was sitting on the counter for a while already since when I did in, it was already lukewarm. All the while they keep yelling at us saying it s not ready. The difference in attitude from taking our order to handing us the order was night and day took our money with joy and just ignored us after. I would ve happily waited 50 minutes if they d been truthful about it. Now I ll probably never go back and advise other ppl to do the same.
A really good Hong Kong style restaurant. Price, food quality, service are above average.
Food was just great, ordered takeout for a reasonable price and service was quick even though they were very busy. Food was just like I wanted! Atmosphere is very busy so if you dine-in, it may take a long wait. Food: 5/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Atmosphere: 2.5/5 stars Total: 4/5 stars
Maggi King chicken, curry beef brisket, cold melon slices are delicious Ping Liangzheng
Friendly service, excellent food, and comfy environment!!
My weekly must go restaurant. The good quality of food plus the free smile service, made ny whole family so happy and comfortable. See pictures for all I tried in 5 visits.
A hidden local spot in Aurora that you definitely must visit if you re looking for authentic Canto/HK dishes. You know when a place is good is when people are willing to line up for almost an hour to be seated. So be warned, if you plan to come during dinner on a weekend, be expected to wait almost an hour as 6-7:30pm is the busiest time. They also get a lot of takeout orders - you can hear the wok consistently going on in the kitchen (it s busy!) One thing that stood out to me was the overall service and friendliness of the staff here. At usual Chinese restaurants I ve visited, usually the workers are just whatever (what I expect), but the servers I ve spoken with are attentive, and friendly. Their menu consists of the many HK cafe classics that runs all day, HK curry dishes, HK classic dishes, friend noodles and sizzling plates. The best part is, most of the dishes comes with soup and a drink as well. We ordered the Salted Fish Chicken Fried Rice & Beef Stir Fried Rice Noodle. Both dishes came in huge portions, and both dishes tasted great. The Salted Fish Chicken Fried Rice had many pieces of salted wish, and the Rice Noodle had lots of beef slices. But most important, both dishes had a strong Wok-hay taste which is what I expect. We chose the tomato soup and was surprised how big the portion of the soup was too. I got the hot Honey Lemon Tea and was also surprised that they were generous with the honey because it tasted pretty sweet. A lot of Hk cafes and Chinese restaurants usually cheap out on the honey. If you re ever around the area, Golden Harbour is definitely a spot you want to try out for authentic and tasty HK/Chinese food! IG: Ayeween
Excellent customer service, tasty food! Will back !
Nice and tasty , very friendly and fastttttt
Delicious food and excellent service. We will come back again.
Good food nice service
Make a special trip from north to south to avoid disappointment The baked rice tastes average 3.5/5 Frozen lemon tea
Very nice restaurant with tasty food. Portion is huge, taste good. Long line up, not a large restaurant. My picky wife likes the food. No or little msg. Selection is good. Will definitely go back again.
Came here on Chinese New Year Eve, they were super busy. However, i was amazed by the ladies staffs that working there, everyone was so nice, friendly, I can say the service was the best one that i have ever experienced. Foods were good, price was reasonable, portion was generous. Highly recommended.
Nice Hong Kong style restaurant in Aurora. Love the food and service. Highly recommended
Foods are good. The stir fired dishes had good Wok Hai. The curry dishes are good, too. Im only slightly disappointed about the braked rice dishes. Portions are big and have good value for the prices. Highly recommended.
Just have to be patient, food is good but take a long time
Four stars for now, as the food was really good and the people were very nice! The only downside is the long wait time. Our wait for a takeout order was 45 minutes longer than we were originally quoted. I figure that this will decrease as they iron out a few kinks. Looking forward to trying it again! Food
Dine-in, takeout, and party tray food are all good! Service has some flaws. I believe there is room for improvement! Newly opened, coming slowly!
I like it very much , my canteen, the service is good and the food is good. My three little kids all love to eat here.
Nice. Hong Kong style.
Classic HK-style diner. HK staples are all great, portion really generous, and milk tea strong, just the way it should be. Most meals will come with hot drink plus a selection of asian/western soups. Great value for what you are paying.
Tasty food and good portions.
beef stir-fried flat rice noodle
Delicious Chinese restaurant
Good food , excellent service, friendly staffs . They never rush on taking orders or hand you the bill .
Epic Hong Kong style.
Very friendly service with great food to go along with it. This newly opened HK style cafe has all the typical food items you would expect. I had the opportunity to try club sandwich and a typical milk tea and was not disappointed. In the middle of my meal I could hear the roar of the jet engine burner in background making me instantly regret not ordering a traditional Beef Stir Fried Noodles ( ) as I am sure it is loaded with Wok Qi ( )!
Friendly staff and great service at this new Hong Kong style cafe. Unlike the regular bad service at other HK cafe, they greeted with smiles and attentive service. Generous portion size and unbelievable price.
Staff are very disorganized and messy with seating people, no menu/ tea was given after we got seated.. we had to grab the menu ourselves after waiting for a while When we wanted to order, the staff kept telling us to wait .. unfortunately we ended up leaving after an hour of please wait so couldn t comment on the food.
They just opened and are a little disorganized. Food wait times could be long. Food in general is very tasty and authentic! Nice addition to Aurora and will definitely be back.
The service is painfully slow, and the staff are disorganized. We placed our order and waited 45mins only to be told they did not put our order in. The lady was adamant that we were served soup and went on to ask the other servers if we drank soup. Her own colleagues shook their heads and confirmed what we said. They tried to have us stay and re-submit our order. We chose to leave the restaurant and went next door. There were 6 other tables waiting for their food, who had waited just as long as us. Unable to comment on their food since we didnt try it.
Waited 45 minutes...for 2 cold milk tea to come and allll I tasted was the sugar syrup....it was disgusting...didnt get any food because they never put the order in..sooo disorganized
It is nice to have new addition to HK cafe restaurant in Aurora. You can tell that Aurora is in need of more this restaurant by the fact that people are lining up to this new location. The restaurant is not big and fits about 40-50 people. We waited for a while and waited some more after seated. Total about 1h until the food is served. Personally, this is quite common for new restaurant to be disorganized and have long wait time; minus 1 star. I hope they get better overtime. Ordered the spring roll appetizer, taiwanese popcorn chicken, beef/brocolli crispy noodle, and peking sweet & sour porkchop; iced lemon tea and iced coffee milk tea for drinks. Dissappointed with the spring roll. It was thin & barely have any filling and only 1 was served. Considering it is almost $3, i was hoping it comes in a pair. The rest of the foods & drinks were on point. The kids loves them. They were reasonably priced, generous portion and lots of sauce on the crispy noodle. Staffs were friendly, no complains. Will definitely come back but with the expectation of long wait time.
They just opened so the wait is a bit long but the food quality makes up for it. Had the XO sauce fried noodle with seafood. It s good quality seafood. Also had beef brisket, very tender. HK milk tea was smooth. Will be back
When we saw a long line at the door, our initial impression was that the restaurant was very popular and good. It wasnt until we were seated that we realized why there was a long line. It was because the staff was disorganized and the food takes forever to deliver. We waited close to 40 mins waiting for a table and once we were seated, it took over 40 mins for them to give us our drinks and over an hour to give us our food. Bare in mind that these were simple Chinese dishes that other restaurants can prepare fast. And even then, the food was mediocre at best. This problem wasnt unique to just us. Other people that arrived before us were also waiting for their food just as long, if not longer. I highly recommend people to visit other restaurants. If you must visit this place, then come when its empty
Extremely delicious food! Finally, a new HK cafe in the area. We ordered take out and everything was super delicious and authentic. They are still in the early stages of opening, so be patient as they iron out some kinks.
At last a traditionl HK style cafe opened up in Aurora! After reading some reviews that it took over 45 mins to get seated another 45 to get their food, we decided to come early on a Sunday even (4:30pm arrival!). Very fortunately we were seated right away as it was only half full. Decor of the restaurant is nice and bright, but not too big. We decided to order the afternoon tea sets as they offer a nice value and we are not that hungry from coming so early. Not going to go into details of each dish but in general they are good and the portion is plenty. I would prefer a little stronger flavor but that s not a deal breaker. A couple of negatives. 1) the wait time for the food is real! It took nearly 30 minutes for the first dish to arrive and the last dish finally came when we finished everything else. The waitress realized and gave us a big bowl of soup while we waited. 2) quite a few noodle dishes were sold out because they ran out of noodles. It was 5pm so that s a bummer. I am sure these issues will improve over time. We will come back and try out other dishes when things run more smoothly.
Decent general tao with rice combo at a fair price and friendly service as well.
Disclaimer this review is based on last week visit and they were seems just newly opened. The wait for food was painfully long the waitress were being apologetic about the wait but nothing they can do. The portion of the food are big and taste not bad, typical quality u would find in a HK cafe. The HK milk tea is also average quality, nothing stand out. Average quality in my opinion but it is a nice addition to the north area . I will visit again when I am in the area one more time and see if the wait is still painfully long..
Very good food for the price. Got 10%discount on grand opening day.
The food is great and the portion is awesome! Newly opened place, great HK cafe in the area!
The service is extremely slow. Need around 30 minutes to get a table (but there are few tables available inside). And need another 40 minutes to get the food. Although the food quality is good. But sorry, no next time. Service
I recently had the pleasure of dining at here, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, but it was the tantalizing aroma that immediately drew me in. The menu boasted an array of dishes, each more tempting than the last, and what truly stood out was the remarkable balance between quality and price. It was an indulgence I could afford without hesitation. The service was impeccable. The staff was not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about ensuring a memorable dining experience. The portions were generous, leaving me both satisfied and eager to return for more. Overall, this place is a gem where taste, affordability, and exceptional service harmoniously converge. If youre in search of an authentic Chinese food that respects your taste buds and your wallet, look no further.
Not a place of recommendation. Wait time for food is too long, minimum 30 minutes for sandwiches & more than 45 minutes for lunch set or stir-fry dishes with just 3 tables of customers, do not considered an efficient hongkong style tea cafe. Services is terrible, their reason of slow food delivery is because they have lots of takeout orders! So why open a restaurant when they can only handled takeout. They don t clean the seats unless customers ask them to, saw sauces & rice on them, expect grease stain on clothings & bags. Chinese dishes are mostly deep fried food with sauces, definitely not good food choices. Even spaghetti is made the same way thick batters deep fry fish fillets Overall, the only good thing at this place is their hongkong style drinks, very authentic and good size.
The service is very friendly, the food is served very fast, and the order is very The portions are generous. Maybe we came after lunch time. Although it was full, there was no waiting problem at all! Will definitely come often.
Welcome this new HK style cafe to Aurora. The room temperature is just fit as the outdoor real feel is at -9°C. Their southeast Asian style chicken with yellow oil rice is good. The chicken meat is al dente. It seems that they are not using ordinary frozen chickens. Their ginger sauce (the soul of the dish) is impressive. It seems that extra spices are applied. That gives an extra layer of taste to the chicken. The baked pork chop with rice is good. Prime pork is used. The meat is crispy. The sauce can be improved to offer more tomato flavour. The HK style milk tea can also be improved as the tea seems a bit old. That makes the milk tea less silky. Looking forward to visiting this cafe again. The place is clean. The sunroom is also sufficient. A nice place to visit.
The services and wait time is within 15 minutes during lunch time. It improves a lot comparing to what I saw from previous reviews. The shop owner is very polite. She said she hired a lot more staff after the first two weeks. And waitresses are extremely helpful. Definitely room for improvements, the food and the taste is above average. Definitely worth to come back. I think they deserve a second chance, if you had bad experience in the first two weeks.
Tasty food, clean environment including restrooms. On top, they are providing an excellent customer service. Servers are so friendly. Good try once. The waiters are friendly, the store is clean including the restrooms, and the overall food is satisfactory. I think the Chinese dishes are more attractive. I might as well give it a try.
This review is for lunch (arrived around 1230 pm) on a Wednesday. Seated right away and tea followed soon after. At this point we encounter none of the delays experienced by others. It is obvious to us that the owner has hired more staff since the opening. The only issue was the constant and loud kitchen noise. First dish came out quickly. The beef rice noodle was good, but wouldve liked more wok aroma and a bit more flavor. Just my preference. The second dish, pork chop in teriyaki sauce, was served about 15 minutes later. No sure why the delay since it is an easier dish to make. The sauce was a bit too sweet. Portion size is on the larger side. Price point more reasonable than the other similar restaurants in Newmarket. Service was attentive and efficient. We will come back to try their combo dishes.
If you like authentic Chinese food, you will love this place. This one serves Hong Kong Style Chinese food. The key is that HK people are very health conscious. A HK restaurant usually can cater to your needs if you want a low salt and/or low oil stirfry for example. Just give your instructions when you place the order. Obviously, the soup is cooked in advance. I craved for a cup of Hong Kong Style milk tea. It was very nicely prepared. I also ordered bitter melon on rice and it was delicious . It was a great acid test as bitter lemon is not easy to cook. I also asked the permission from the young gentlemen next table to take a picture of their two versions of fried chicken wings with fries. My mouth is still watering as I author this review. 1. Lemongrass (dry) 2. Honey Pepper Garlic (wet)!! Enough said. The restaurant has just opened about 3 weeks ago. I went there just after 2pm for a late lunch on a Thursday. I didnt have to wait. But patrons kept coming in. There are not a lot of Chinese restaurants in Aurora. This one is a keeper. I will certainly come back to spport a local small business. They also serve a menu of afternoon specials at a discount price. Please note that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. I only waited for a few minutes for my food. But I would rather wait for great food than to go into an empty restaurant with very quick service and inferior food. To be fair, they just opened for business and I am sure have some tweaking to do with operations. Parking: Parked very close to the restaurant.
This new HK style restaurant is good for people live in Aurora. Food overall is ok. Their service is good and show us that they care. For sure will come back!
Food
Now the food is finally ready
Aurora finally has a more authentic Hong Kong style tea restaurant. The sexual hierarchy is high. Similar to Dragon Porridge or something like that. happy
The fried beef river is very refreshing, and the milk tea has a strong milky aroma. You must try it.
My first impressions are pretty good on the overall offerings of this Hong Kong style restaurant. After this afternoon tea experience, my wife and I will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Excellent new HK style food in the area.
Let me just say this. The service here is not as good as a tea restaurant . The ladies are really friendly both for takeout and dine in. It can be said that things are of high quality and low price in this era.
