Despite the dine-in area being quite busy, the overall experience at Swiss Chalet was impressive and enjoyable. The lively atmosphere added to the dining experience rather than detracting from it. The highlight of the visit was the exceptional service provided by the server, Snobi. They managed to stay attentive and accommodating, even amidst the bustling environment. Their friendly demeanor, efficiency, and attention to detail ensured that all needs were met seamlessly. The combination of good food, a vibrant setting, and excellent service made for a memorable outing.
Classic fake reviews, as per the the "Recipe" standard. Slow service, dirty tables and crap all over the place. Not busy, but still took 2 hours..... No host, forgot everything, have to flag down someone to get anything.... No I don't wanna see the "we're sorry to hear that!! Please fill this out!!" Response to this. Felt like I was eating at an outdoor patio in a third world country. Clean up the place.
Tried giving feed back to the owner she just argued. Food was really bad, dry and burned , old and cold fries, bathroom had no soap, floor had puddles of water.
The food at this Swiss chalet location is good quality. The chicken, wings and the ribs were juicy. The food al came out quickly and hot. They have the robot food delivery cart to bring out meals out. Which was quite exciting for the family.
my daughter ordered take out and this is her meal. 17 dollars for nothing basically. small amount of fries. what happened to those red take out boxes with a half decent amount of a meal

Ordered food for delivery through Uber, said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes our driver went to the restaurant and then proceeded to wait an additional hour! Then when we finally did get the food home and opened it I saw that they didn’t include the fires that should have been with my chicken dinner, no butter for the rolls. And this is what’s considered a quarter chicken dinner now?! And when he would speak to whoever the manger was he would never give him a straight answer and was getting annoyed at our driver like it was his fault that the food was taking forever. At one point turned to him an aggressively said “ITS COMING OKAY”. I understand it’s dinner time but the place was nowhere near busy enough for stuff to take this long and for him to be spoken to like that. The amount of disrespect they have for their customers is crazy.
The food quality at this location fluctuates with every visit. Their Double leg dinners were either dry and small, or a bit bigger and on the jucier end. The only thing consistent at this place is the service level. I always get the same server when I come around noon, and he's always pleasant and attentive. I really enjoyed their chicken on my last visit. I hope they keep this up!
Very very very slow service BY THE KITCHEN took 30minutes for just a salad. Chicken was cold. The server was very nice. Heard lots of screaming from the kitchen and disrupted our meal.

I had dinner at this location again last night. As always, Ela was an amazing waitress. She greeted us with a big smile and was engaged the whole time we were there. She was extremely timely with her service and very professional. All the orders were correct and the food tasted great. Ela was responsive to everything we needed and made great suggestions for pairings. Kudos!

We, at Pineview Designs Knitting Club, had a lovely lunch and afternoon at Swiss Chalet on First Commerce Drive. The food was scrumptious and Mona and her staff were great! See you next year for our spring luncheon

My girlfriend and I ordered takeout and then changed our minds and wanted to eat our ribs sitting down at a table. We went into the restaurant and a gentlemen told us no problem and we took a seat to eat. Then, an employee named Rosa came over and told us we were not allowed to eat here, no boxed food is allowed on the tables. We then asked for plates to put the food onto and she refused. Rosa said she called her boss over us sitting down and she agrees we cannot stay. Rosa was extremely rude considering we just purchased the food minutes before from the takeout counter. I will never go back to this location. Yonge and Henderson location is 10x better. My Ribs werent even warm and when I asked for extra napkins, she gave me the little cutlery package with that one tiny napkin inside. Washroom had watered down soap and both paper towel dispensers were broken. Had to dry my hand on my pants. And ROSA is worried about the boxed meal on the table. What a joke. THIS LOCATION IS A DISGRACE TO THE SWISS CHALET FRANCHISE!!!

Snobi (not sure of spelling) wasn t my server but she came over when I needed anything. She served almost all the tables as the other server was pretty absent. She told me it was only her second day on the job! She was personable and attentive with everyone even if it wasn t her table. She has changed my mind about the younger generation. Definitely keep her and give her a good raise at her 3 month review!!!
Giving 5 stars to Snowbi (sorry don t know how to spell it) - a girl who has only worked here 2 days - AND wasn t even our server! She was very knowledgeable, warm, bubbly and so helpful. We watched her run around and serve the entire dining room! While our server, who didn t even give us her name, was nowhere to be found. She came off cold and dismissive and unpleasant. She didnt bring our food out in a timely manner it was kinda cold, never returned to ask how our food was, didn t come to offer more water and was literally just gone with the wind. Snowbi saved our dinner experience, made everyone smile and we are very grateful that she was there that night, I hope she gets the recognition she deserves!

From the start, attempting to dine here was a nightmare. From it taking 10+ minutes to get a table, to a sad excuse for a veggie quesadilla (chopped romaine lettuce, shredded carrots, cheese), this is a spot to avoid - at all costs! Sure, the perogies arrived in a reasonable timeframe, but sitting for over 60 minutes after ordering our entrées was absolutely unacceptable. The shock of seeing what actually arrived was infuriating; the gall to call what was delivered an acceptable dish called a veggie quesadilla was just the icing on the already tepid attempt at reasonable customer service. Dont bother! There are many other (better) establishments to enjoy a meal at.
The staff at the takeout booth pretends they don t see me and doesn t even bother to ask about my order. I place my mobile order at 12:35 on Saturday and still haven t gotten my order at 1:20PM. I stand at the front and the staff hides in the back and they rotate new people pretending I m a new customer. People who arrive after me get their foods first and the people who order on mobile is forgotten. When I confront the employee they tell me a fake reason why I have no food. Why would I wait almost an hour for my food and what s the point of ordering mobile then if the service will be worse off than ordering in person?

Went to this location and ordered a hamburger with cheese and bacon. The burger was bland and tasted like a bad cafeteria burger. The fries were soggy. The ice tea tasted watered down. The people dining with me had a soup that tasted off, so they didnt enjoy their meal either. Bland food, bored, unresponsive server. Food took forever to arrive, although we were the only people in this place. The bill was 90 dollars. Unacceptable. We wont be back. Much better options exist in the plaza.

Saturday night dinner with volleyball team, server was very poor. Brought out cutlery and drink to the table and self service. All the food was cold only warmed from the heat lamp. Never go back to this location. Did a survey from Swiss Chalet and said not to have a call back, still called and tried to explan themselves. My response was IM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS LOCATION AND WILL NOT NEED ANY OFFER FROM THEM TO CHANGE MY INPUT.

Ive been here in aurora locaion for a couple of times and happened to be served by the same server named Ella. First time it was my family of 4 and she was so great even my kids thanked her for her great service, but this time i had a very impromptu family gathering and brought 13 ppl with me without reservation. Not only she was very accommodating for a large party, she still was very attentive and assured everything was okay with me and my party throughout. I thank you for your great service Ella! Ill definitely visit again and agian! I really appreciate it!

Placed an order at 7:30 said food would be ready by 8:45pm now it s 9:00pm and food is still not ready. Every single time I m here waiting for food and they tell me the pick up time is wrong. 1 hour is more than enough time for me to get my food. Half chicken for two people dinner. Today we decided to dine at Swiss Chalet in Aurora.The store wasn t overall busy as most were already seated but there was only 1 server. She advised us there was no more kid menus and we had the last one. We dined with 2 adults 2 kids. Server did the best she could with the situation she had. She had about 8 tables serving alone. Multiple people walked in and walked out. Upon ordering she advised us there was no more chicken and it would take 30 minutes. My husbands double leg dinner was cold The kids cheesy pasta was bland and terribly served. (Clump of cheese not mixed together) plated on a flat plate not in a bowl as advertised in the photo. Sent it back and it was corrected. Never got our drinks refilled once nor asked. I can t blame her because she was the only one working the front. The male manager cames out after 1.5 and cleaned. Server even asked him to check if we needed something and couldn t even get us a take out box. I had to get up myself to ask for it again. This was a poor experience and we felt bad for the server. Management needs to do better.

My wife went and got take out for the family she was told 15 minutes it was over an hour. When she got home finally with the meal and as we were opening everything the order was wrong on a few things and we were missing items too , she order three of those mini donuts one box had 2 mini donuts and we didnt even get the third box. The food isnt like it used to be either and thats dining in and take out

Yesterday, I went with my family table of 9 for dinner. The waitress I believe her name was Rosa, was really nice and got drinks and soup very fast. But food was very delayed and quality of food has changed big time. It is very disappointing in this place each time we go the food quality goes down. Yet the wait time is getting longer and longer. The only good thing in this restaurant are those two waitresses who are doing a really good job.
This swiss chalet was absolutely outstanding! This location is truly the best because of Emanuela. From the moment we stepped in, she greeted us with a smile & she made us feel like we were in our own home. I will definitely be coming back to this location specifically because of the amazing service by Ella!

Disappointed today. Walked in to only be greeted by a young lady server that was just terribly miserable. You could tell as soon as you saw her that she was in a very bad mood and most likely very mad for some reason. Something perhaps may have happened prior to me coming into the restaurant. No hello, no smile (only a frown), and when I mentioned that there would be two of us, she walked away from me with the menus in her hand. I followed her seeing that she did not say a word, and I only walked behind her, since I figured that she was taking me to a table. In the meantime, my husband was parking the car. I asked her as I walked behind her if she may know of an area in the restaurant that could be a bit warmer and away from the air conditioning because I was very cold. Looking at her back I mentioned if she heard what I said, and she turned around with a very angry look, and with a very bad attitude & loud voice and she said Yes I did ! She just continued to walk away from me, and I continued to follow her. At that point I mentioned that she should not speak to me this way. When I got to the table I mentioned to her that she did not have the right to speak to me the way she did, and that if she didn t like her job she should get another one. I also mentioned that I would prefer that someone else serves us. In the same previous rude attitude she said well, that s not going to happen because I am the only one here to serve you . I walked away from the table and found the first employee I could find and mentioned to him something to the effect that their waitress has a very bad attitude problem. My husband had just arrived so I mentioned that we should leave. I explained the situation. We went to Boston Pizza, had a wonderful lunch, along with a wonderful service. We paid over $140 so there you go, not our loss. We will not be coming back.

We visited at around 7pm with a party of 10. We were greeted by a great sever who remembered us from months earlier. Unfortunately, the experience quickly became frustrating, as it wasn t until well after 8pm our food started to come out, and between the first plate and last, was a good 15min. The restaurant was NOT busy at all, maybe a total of 6 tables occupied. They were just horribly understaffed. Frustrated that the last dish was held back, I went to the kitchen to see it sitting on the table while the cook was playing with the fries Our server sensed our frustration, and brought the manager out (we d waited almost 90 min for food, finally had it, and now he wanted to talk socially tone deaf would be an understatement). I was frankly surprised there was a manager even present with the servers so busy - you d think a manager would roll up their sleeves and chip in! He offered free desert for the egregious food delay, but only after we d all ordered and been served our dessert did he clarify it was one free desert. We d actually already paid for the meal when we got a second bill. Not sure I could recommend this place, is not managed well at all. When a place is understaffed (the managers call) and the manager is nowhere to be found when the servers are busy running around the manager needs to STEP UP. This place has a boss, not a leader, and it s pretty clear to me what would need to change here.

I havent been to Swiss Chalet in over 2 decades. Chicken is still the same but the atmosphere feels like you are at some low budget US based restaurant.
This is the only Swiss Chalet in Aurora, Newmarket that will always make my fries extra crispy when I ask at the take out, always fresh hot and delicious food

The worst Swiss Chalet we have ever used, we stopped physically going to this restaurant because of the extremely slow service 40 to 45 minutes from when we ordered and now that has now become to nom for take out and based on the comments with 6 people waiting for takeout this will be the last time any of us will ordering from this site. Strongly recommend someone from corporate investigate this location!
I came to this location to order take out at 9:09 pm on a Friday night. The sign on the door says Monday - Friday open until 10. Google says 9:30. The open sign was lit up on the door. I waited for about 5 mins for service before a very brusk gentleman told me that it was too late to order. I said, your sign is on and the door unlocked and he said yeah, we re busy . Very disappointed in this. Get your hours straight on the door and on google. I ll probably just go to the new location at Davis and Leslie from now on.

I waited 10 minutes before someone showed up at the takeout counter and I was the only person there . I Purchased a half chicken dinner and added a salad for takeout . The fries were cold and soggy with oil , the half chicken was so small it was like a quail and the salad was wilted and half full in the container , which is also much smaller than it used to be . Definately not worth 7.99. I will never order from this location again . It was a total disappointment and not worth the money . Update April 30th I responded to the email as directed in their Google response expecting nothing but to my surprise I received a very quick response from head office who sent my complaint directly to the restaurant . Within a day, I received a personal phone call from the restaurant manager where I made the complaint . She was apologetic and very professional and offered me a replacement meal . She told me to call her personally when I wanted to pick it up . I was very impressed with the speed at which my complaint was handled and their resolution has more than compensated for my initial unpleasant experience . Excellent customer service!

We had the most wonderful experience at dinner today (Mar 25th) at the Aurora (First Commerce) location. The lady working was the sole waitress but was able to take or order and serve our food in a timely manner. She provided excellent service! She went above and beyond to ensure we were content. Thank you Kid-friendliness: We visited this location for my sons birthday and the waitress went above and beyond!
Everytime I have ordered a delivery from this restaurant (4 times now), something went wrong. Food forgotten. Wrong food delivered. And worse of all, average delivery turn around of 90 minutes. Not even at a busy time. Ive walked into this restaurant many times during these times of day and it was basically empty. And yet, they cant figure out delivering before 90 mins pass (despite proximity being an 8 min drive to me).
Automated entry doors for wheelchair usage was inoperable. Advised the server/host and no comment or apology was made. Was just advised *ok*. Not accessible for someone who is in a wheelchair if they do not have someone to open the door for them. Wheelchair accessibility: Is NOT wheelchair accessible

This location is fantastic. The food is always fresh and the service it outstanding. The owner comes around to check on her customers. The wait staff are very friendly. Last night we were served (once again) by Ella. She is the most kind, sweetest and hard working person. She always goes over and beyond to make sure we are happy. Her coworker ( I think here name was Rose) is also amazing. Always so kind and sweet. These little touches are what brings us back. Thank you for treating us so well

The chicken was super fresh with crispy skin and our server James was quick, helpful and even made us laugh with a joke about the lemon soup to our daughter that was puzzled by it. James we will ask for your section next time. Thank you

Chicken was quite salty. Ordered online in advance for specific time pick up. At the end, need to wait for 15 minutes after the specific pick up time. Someone walked in and ordered after my arrival time; yet, they can get their order ahead of me. No reason to order in advance online.

Chaos in the dining room. This location needs new management and a change in the wait staff. We waited forever. Our service was terrible. The manager did nothing but add confusion. Was so disappointed. Swiss Chalet should never take 90 mins from being seated to finally getting our bill. I will never return to that location again.

One of the worse visits to Swiss Chalet which has always been my favourite chain since childhood. This visit on 1/20/24 definitely didn t sit well. Smoky dining environment to start. Orders were missed tho eventually replaced. Heard for the first time they ran out of quarter legs after placing the order, but eventually was delivered. Sides were smaller than usual. Server and manager didn t know it s promo card products and hence was never applied. (Without checking and reviewing the card, tells me the card is for online order only when it specifically says for Dine-In only). Didn t ask if I had a Scene card as felt they were trying to cheap out of applying the meal to the program. Just a horrible sequence of events for what was supposedly a casual family night out with kids. Poorly run and certainly lack training. Overall, first and last to this particular diner location.

Paid $2.99 EXTRA for sweet potato fries, and this is what I got. Even the salad was skimpy. Considering a family value meal has gone up $10, you might expect the servings to be the same. Guess package shrinkage has found its way to this Swiss Chalet. First and LAST time ordering from this location. May be one of the reasons why your location has such a low volume of customers. Have YET to receive a response from their customer service, a week and a half after this post and reaching out to them. All Ive gotten is an automated response and a were forwarding it to the right individual. Obviously they dont have the right individuals!!! 2nd Update: I finally received an email about a week and a half later and was told that they have rigorously high standards and to prove that they offered me a free appetizer!!! Not even a thought into reimbursing the meal. This company has become a joke!!!

Terrible experience at this Swiss Chalet location. I have been to countless locations and I have never had such terrible service. Our server, Hosay, was rude, slow and completely inept at service. No refills, no return to table. Absolutely everything appeared to be putting her out. When she eventually delivered out food she rudely said TAKE IT and pushed a dish into my wife s hand At the end of the meal my son was supposed to get a dessert with his kids meal. Hosay did not want to offer it however reluctantly did it. It took over 20 minutes to get 3 mini donuts out to the table. Finally we ordered two festive specials and did not receive chocolates I will not return to this location. Ever.

Poor prep of food items.Very small servings.Hot chicken sandwich = 2 pcs bread with gravy with little chicken.Very disappointed. Complaint falls on deaf ears in store.Never again will I eat at a Swiss chalet.PS I LOVE IT WHEN THEY DEEP FRY THERE CHICKEN TO FINISH THE COOKING PROCESS AS WITNESSED IN TAKEOUT PREVIOUS VISIT. I m a fan of Swiss Chalet.. my family and I usually get takeout from the Henderson location about once a week. Noticed today on Uber this location had buy one get one free on soup and figured as a franchise what could go wrong I m just getting a wrap. Huge swing and a miss. Opened the wrap to the most rancid smell. The chicken was going grey and had bones in it, the bacon was to a point it looked as if it was going moldy. Clearly not cooked or stored properly. I don t know what smelled worse between the two. Needless to say I wouldn t even feed it to a dog and threw it out. I ll be sticking to Henderson.
