I recently dined at St James resto and had a highly disappointing experience. Despite waiting over an hour due to understaffing and being served after people who arrived later, the meal did not justify the wait. The terrace was divided into sections, and our server was late, which caused confusion and delays. When we finally received our food, it was far from satisfactory. The shrimp salad we ordered resembled a mediocre grocery store takeout, lacking in both flavor and freshness. The linguine with seafood in tomato sauce was particularly bad; the sauce tasted canned, the seafood was frozen and not fresh, and the dish was entirely bland. My young son's cod with rice was equally disappointing, with undercooked rice and the cod appearing to be dunked in egg batter. Despite the beautiful location and view, the overall experience was poor and overpriced. I do not recommend this Resto to anyone. Additionally, make sure to reserve a table in advance, as this is not clearly communicated to visitors!!!!. The service and food quality need significant improvement.
The food was less than mid it’s not even seasoned. The seafood wasn’t fresh and the rice wasn’t well cooked. The service was also slow. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

For $50, you can have three small scallops, two small filets of salmon and cod, a prawn, a small lump of crab meat, a very generous portion of rice, and a sad little salad. The food (except for the cod) was well-cooked; however, the portion of seafood was incredibly disappointing. The waitstaff was nice.

This is a quaint restaurant by the harbour. Have the seafood. Pasta and pizza can be had anywhere else. The service is prompt and professional. A very busy spot. Fills up quite quickly. You might be turned away depending on the time you show up.

Pleasant dinner, quite surprising: one of the only ones in Baie Commeau that serves seafood. They serve large portions. Their fishermans plate is very good!
Copious and excellent dishes! If you have a craving for fish and seafood, you will find what you are looking for here. (In the photo: seafood shell, salmon linguine with béchamel sauce and salmon/shrimp Caesar salad)
The cod is excellent
Atmosphere, view and extraordinary staff we had a great time on the terrace overlooking the marina. The plates are very generous to the point where we were not able to finish everything. The seafood is very fresh, the shellfish and the nachos are a real delight. For my part, the rice and salad accompaniments lacked a little finesse, the cod fillet which seemed breaded would have been even more delicious if it had been slightly crispy and the prices are a little high. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

I had a plate of seafood. NO TASTE as if steamed! The garlic butter ., no butter and no garlic!!! Instead, a kind of defrosting syrup!!! SORRY

We were in the reception room with catering service. Fantastic location and very well appointed room
Trio of skewers: very poorly seasoned; it looked like boiled meat. Salmon fillet: very good. Land and sea: average taste. Parmesan fondue: good but plate would need to be garnished with red onions and olives. Seafood wrap: good. Disappointed in general since we spent $300.00 for little taste. I wont go back there for sure.

I am very happy with our dinner. The plates are copious, the seafood is abundant. We get what we pay for. Even the rice was tasty. The wines are not expensive and the choice is correct. Wheelchair accessibility: Since the restaurant is upstairs, an elevator is available.

Seemed like a nice spot along the harbor to us. Was a bit disappointing, location was not that great. Service okay, but unfortunately very fast, fast. Bilingualism is a big problem in this part of Quebec.
Very good and impeccable service
Good meal choices with seafood (there are also more classic choices) and the prices are reasonable (around $30) considering the quantity of scallops and shrimp on the plate! The beer is really cheap ($5 for a pint!!!). Excellent service: our waitress was attentive and very friendly and the meal arrived quickly. The view is great. In short, it s a very good place!

The dishes are copious and succulent. Once the dish is finished, the chef goes from table to table to ensure customer satisfaction with the quality of their plate. A nice touch that stimulates the desire to return. The only downside is that the accompaniments do not equal the happiness of the main course. A salad and rice from a street corner restaurant. Easy to forget when you see the seafood on the plate

Very basic shrimp starter for the price... good but not worth the price...! St-James skewered plate, garlic shrimp are good, overcooked chicken and overcooked beef! The very basic rice/salad sides for the disappointing price
Wow, what a beautiful, super friendly place. Thanks to Chef James for the excellent meal; Cod fillet and seafood shell very generous portion and Myriam for the outstanding service and good smile. If you go to Baie Comeau, go for a walk. Plus the view is magnificent.

The seafood was good, but the quality of the rice needs to be reviewed. The restaurant should opt for basmati or jasmine and not for rice that tastes like a cardboard box

Extremely slow and unwelcoming service. Disappointing seafood trio plate, lack of taste and cooking. It tastes like water. Disappointing given the price of the plates. The view is beautiful.

Just one downside in our evening, THE WAITRESS, no tact, doesnt listen to our order, leaves before weve even finished speaking, doesnt fill our glasses with water, I ask for a wrap without mushrooms, my wrap arrives with mushrooms, takes our plate away and we dont finish. In short, very bad service, I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, because the service is pitiful and the food is not great.

An exterior visit with photos. We only made an exterior visit, taking our time on August 22, 2020 late in the morning. The hourly rates for bike rental seemed excessively high to us: $15/hour for hybrid bikes, $20/hour for tandems and $26/hour for electric bikes. The site is picturesque with great photo opportunities and is located on the river with the marina nearby. Covid-19 was part of the party of course and I cant tell you about the health restrictions and rules when we were there. There is a magnificent little garden of rare plants for amateurs. Very disappointed with this place on two occasions, during my call with them I asked for the marina section and no. We find ourselves on the side of the hangar and fa Gauthier. However, I was told that he had no problems even if there were 10 of us at our table. Now this will be the last time I make reservations because we cant trust them. Very big disappointment
