This was my second visit to this restaurant: once again, it was excellent. The deconstructed sushi is super good. The sushi is so big and the homemade sauce is perfect. The service is great!

Quite disappointing. We waited for our 18 sushis for over an hour without bothering to come and inform us. The only exchange was to come and serve water without any particular interest. Noisy atmosphere. Fortunately the sushi was quite good.

EXTREMELY slow service. Waitress almost absent, I even asked her a question and I never got the answer. Sushi good but poorly rolled (they fall apart). I had to ask for baguettes with my meal.

I lived in Baie-Comeau for 2 and a half years and I ordered here every Friday. In 2020, I returned on vacation with my partner: the same large portions, quality sushi, well rolled. Today, August 7, 2024, I return on vacation with my family and the picture is completely different: disappointment! Lunch take-out: poorly rolled and small sushi. In the evening, at the restaurant, very slow service, we were served after more than an hour of waiting, sushi all broken up, not as good. The waiter forgot the chopsticks and to bring us a spoon, he didnt come to ask us if everything was to our taste...it was my favorite restaurant, but not anymore :(

Unfortunately, it was a traumatic dining experience for my partner and me. I ordered the filet mignon/shitake mille-feuille and my partner the 5 oz filet mignon. My steak mille-feuille was barely cooked: the outside of the steak was pink and the inside was cold and blue. All soaked in a grotesque amount of sauce... The steak was not seasoned in any way. The vegetables were limp, soggy and extremely bland. The rice was good, the salad too. Despite this, three small bites of my mille-feuille were enough to make me incredibly nauseous . As for my partners piece of meat, it was extremely bland in addition to being cold. A piece of meat that has been cooked without seasoning; no salt, no pepper, nothing. In addition, the requested cooking was medium rare and the steak was well cooked. The fries were good and tasty on the other hand. The vegetables just as wet and tasteless as mine. The young server we had was great. Polite, courteous, available. On the other hand, a kitchen manager (or simply one of the cooks??) was extremely unprofessional towards us and the table next to us. The latter were a little discouraged because they had arrived at 6:30 p.m. and had still not received food at 9:00 p.m. The employee came out of the kitchen, rebellious, to come and tell them I just wanted to tell you that Im sorry but you ordered at 7:15 p.m. and not at 6:30 p.m. in an arrogant and impatient tone (in fact , isnt it synonymous with somewhat poor service to arrive at 6:30 p.m. and only be able to order 45 minutes later??). This episode left palpable bitterness in the room. What discomfort! I had already been disappointed with sushi, but nothing catastrophic. The steaks were succulent when we came last year. However, the food received today (for more than $100 bill) was the last straw for us. Never again. It s really insulting to pay $50 for a plate and receive a dish of poorly cooked porridge. ***My heart still hurts while writing these lines.*** .

You have to wait hours to receive your plate

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience. We came to order makis to take away. We placed our order at the counter at 6:50 p.m., I received my order within a reasonable time. My friend who ordered at the same time as me received her order at 7:50 p.m. after having made 2 reminders to the employees that we were paying attention. The first time they tell us that they will go to the kitchen to find out when the order will be ready Around 7:20 p.m. We were in plain sight, waiting. It s 7:45 p.m., we ask where the order is (2 types of makis only). We are still asked for the name of the order, telling us that it wont take long. Finally at 7:50 p.m., we asked for a refund, we had been waiting for 1 hour for 2 types of makis. In the meantime there are at least 6 customers who placed orders after us and who were served before we received ours. In the end we were told that the time put on the invoice was not the correct one. We got a refund, and they gave us double the amount of sushi to accommodate us. The taste of the makis was bland, honestly I am a fan of sushi and unfortunately the sushi was not fresh. There was mango, but it didnt taste good either. The spicy mayo sauce was very good though! we had no utensils. So it was a bad experience, it may be an isolated case but I dont recommend it.

Unfortunately the sushi was not rolled well. The rice fell and they fell apart. Still good in taste but missing a little something to make the experience ++.

I loved my General Tao plates however it was missing a little sauce. I also ordered sushi which was excellent! And the service was impeccable

My meal was to go out but when I visited to pick up my meal, it was VERY noisy...the establishment was very busy. In terms of the sushi experience, I found it all a little expensive for 15 sushis but the portion of fish and seafood was very generous. Good customer service; the employees make sure you have been served. They validated with me a few times during the waiting period.

Best sushi in the world. The one with filet mignon is incredible. And what about the crab ball?

The service is very pleasant, me and my husband took a rare filet mignon, pepper sauce with fries. The meat was very tender, rare as we requested. The plate was really very well represented, well filled and the man who served us was very pleasant, he was very professional. We both had a great time . We thank you.

They have everything

Very slow service around 1 hour just to receive the starter after a good 30 min to have the main course, good food without more for the price, very noisy to the point of hurting the ears.

Literally a real THIEF, the prices displayed on the Internet are not at all the same as they announce to us on the phone when we order for delivery, its good its true but the quality does not justify this point such a price either. No but anything UZUMAKI never again.

Really good but the delivery leaves something to be desired. 3 experience, 2 big disappointments. The last one, this very evening, I order 2 Tao and 8 dumplings for 8 p.m. My order arrives at 6:30 p.m. and the delivery guy tells me that there are no more dumplings and that I have to call the restaurant so that they can give me a credit on the next order. They didnt call me to notify and see about replacement. I call, they offer me a discount for the next order for the delivery time error and tell me that I will be entitled to 6 dumplings on the next order (I paid for 8 when I ordered ). In short, the taste is excellent but perhaps just in the restaurant. Disappointed with what I received for my $83.17

The food is ok, nothing more. The sushi is very small. The waitresses are very nice, but I waited 1 hour 45 minutes before getting my plate while everyone was served in quick succession at the neighboring tables. No offer of drinks, nothing. For 1h45. I had time to listen to Pirates of the Caribbean 4 almost completely lol. Im still hungry and it cost me $65. Im going to McDonalds afterwards. I wont go back there.

Really disappointed with our experience last night. In the past, I had very good memories of this restaurant but I was told that it was no longer the same and thats true... The waitresses are very nice and thats why I give 2 stars. They are doing their best but I think the problem is in the kitchens. I had a tempura shrimp with a very long hair twisted in the breading and the vegetables in my shrimp stir-fry (4 small shrimps) were totally raw... And when I talk about vegetables, that means a few mini pieces broccoli, thin carrots, cabbage and large onion wedges (????). Fortunately there was the Mars bar for dessert to finish my meal because I didnt eat much. I dont want to go back there.

Reservation at dinner time for 3 people arrive on site our table is right in the middle of the fairly ordinary entrance I ask to change tables leaves us on a bistro type table for 3 people say that these are the only places available my partner is pregnant. Me and my partner deciding to order a Viking boat (sushi) for $80 I order dumplings as a starter, very long service at the Viking boat, the waitress arrives with our plates saying that the Viking boat is not available. I have the impression of being cheated because our plates versus the boat, the dark sushis are much less numerous (maybe Im wrong but I no longer have any way of knowing or comparing) I find that the restaurant has lost wings. On the other hand, we had a super nice and very pleasant waitress. For the rest it leaves something to be desired. My partner told me that the sushi was tasteless and with no taste she had the vegetarian option. The servers were really nice though. The service was average because the restaurant had a lot of customers so it was completely normal. Vegetarian options: My partner doesnt like sushi and took the vegetarian option. Dietary restrictions: The waitress asks us if there are any dietary restrictions.

Order never arrived. Called at 4:30 p.m. for a delivery where they did not have a specific time to give me, after 3 hours during a call they confirmed to me that my order was not even prepared. Called again before closing to make sure it would end up at my house, no one ever came to deliver anything. To avoid disappointments/frustrations on the busiest days in attendance you should perhaps avoid offering delivery as a service if you do not have the time/resources necessary to get there

Very good but also very expensive for what it is... Having the sushi monopoly in Baie-Comeau has paid off. Only, if there was competition, maybe the Uzumaki would stop sitting on his lobsters.

Insignificant and inadequate service. The waitresses stay behind the bar and pretend not to see us when we call them. It took 90 minutes to receive our plates which are far from gourmet and they were cold. No respect for customers. Bad food! (Thats far from being a Japanese chef..) A chef wouldnt make sushi with cream cheese and strawberries for a chefs choice option. And when we tell them that were not satisfied, they dont care and say that everyone likes it... and that we should have taken it à la carte.

Best Sushi restaurant in the region! Plus its bring your own wine, what more could you ask for?

A bit expensive for sushi

I usually dont leave bad reviews or comments, but I had bad service today, which surprised me because Uzumaki has always been a restaurant that I have loved over the years. We were missing an entire roll, or ~5 sushi, from our order, and when we informed the employees, they confronted us on the subject, asked to see the invoice, and stopped talking to us after noticing that there was indeed an error. But hey, its not that bad, it was probably just a misunderstanding and everyone must be tired. What disappointed us the most was the food itself. We had ordered a total of 7 sushi rolls. Of the 7 rolls, there were 2 pairs of the same and another roll that only had salmon inside? Of course, with the pandemic its difficult in the restaurant business, so I want to emphasize the fact that all my other experiences in the past at this restaurant have been great. Just disappointed with the service and food today in particular.

Food wise, it was really great! The sushi is very good and fresh. The only thing that displeased me was that the restaurant charges absolutely everything (soy sauce, wasabi, ginger, etc.). This is the first time Ive seen this in a sushi restaurant and I find it really ordinary. Service wise, it was horrible. The waitress never came to see us during the meal and we had to get up to see the waitress, who always stayed behind the bar. I am aware that in times of pandemic, it is not easy in the restaurant sector. However, I believe that restaurant managers should do more coaching with their employees.

I wrote on the Facebook page that I did not appreciate the meal ordered to go out because I have 30 minutes of dinner. Salmon croquette without probable flavor defrost products, very small portion. Dish measuring 17cm by 13cm. Only the bottom that gives for $19 + taxes. A starter of 2 small bites, store-bought cherry sauce. I regret not having been to a restaurant...So judge for yourself. $25 on an empty stomach is quite disappointing.

well executed sushi

Service to be desired, I had 2 invoices prepared and there was only one invoice so I asked if it was possible to split it (politely) and the waitress (Megane) snatched my invoice from my hands angry and arrogant for no reason and throws me the new bill.

This is the first and probably last time I leave a review on Google. An hour and a quarter of waiting for takeout, prices displayed on their website which turn out to not be the right ones, we were getting $2 to $5 more PER ITEM on an order of 5 items, the bill changes quickly . Everything is very bland, the fried squid is limp, the egg rolls are as big as my little finger, the chicken yellow curry without curry sauce? I will never go back

Very disappointed. Its good but its not really sushi. Far from being real sushi. No correct menu or official website. I ordered something according to the menu posted on Facebook, received something else asking for an explanation. The person told me the menu I saw was no longer the correct one but nowhere did it mention that it was no longer offered. In short, good luck, hoping one day it will be a real sushi restaurant.

-decent sushi -tiny quantity of accompaniments (wasabi, mayo, it looks like it s seraphin party) -slice of life: we have an order of sushi prepared for 8 by calling several days in advance for a dinner with colleagues, but to make matters worse, the dude who makes the sushi didnt come home that morning. result: no sushi for you. good luck for the future

La table dhôte pourrait offrir au moins un plat plus simple pour accommoder les plus difficile. Le filet mignon et la sauce était délicieux. Les accompagnements pourrait être mieux. Les prix étaient un peu élevés compte tenu de lensemble de lexpérience. La prochaine fois ce sera des sushis, jai entendu que de bons commentaires sur ceux-ci.

Terribly long service. In the end we were dissatisfied and we didnt leave a tip that met the expectations of the waitress, she started yelling at us, walking around us with sarcastic comments, wanted to know where we were from was coming! When we asked her to stop because she was harming the reputation of the restaurant, she told us that she knew it but that it didnt bother her....and that we were the rude ones because of the little tip. We can agree that this waitress is only there for the money. I find it such a shame, because apart from this VERY BAD experience, Baie Comeau was great.

Excellent restaurant. The atmosphere is good. The staff is friendly and they serve you quickly. The stir-fries with seafood (scallops were cooked to perfection) are excellent, as are the sushi. I highly recommend.
