Big Bone BBQ and Wicked Wings Barrie in Barrie

I ordered a brisket sandwich, and fries. The sandwich was 1/2 the size of what was advertised. The fries were dried out and over cooked. $23 for $10 worth of food. I am still very hungry. I will not order from here again. Very disapointed.

The food was very poor. The ribs were dry, and the fries were burnt to a crisp. The first time i went a couple of years ago, it was a different experience. I wil not be going back to this restaurant.

Acoid this store uber drivers cant bring orders on time as the staff is so lazy. The staff is so racist. Drivers get low rating cause of this store. Lol other reviews tell about the place. there is no requirement for bag by uber. Worst place dont come. Please spend money somewhere else. Business goes hand to hand. I came to store burned my gas and nobody is going to compensate that not even uber. Well please also buy some good quality incense.

Worst experience from the cashier lady

The service at this restaurant was disappointing. The staff was slow, and rude. Our food took far too long to arrive. Overall, a frustrating experience. I wdn t recommend it.

If I could give this place -10 stars...I would. No smoke ring on ribs or wings that I ordered. They both look so charred....I even called to request something and there was a serious language barrier, couldnt understand employee/who phone was passed off to. The fries taste horrible...like 2/10 horrible. Please do Barrie a favour and close your franchise or be prepared to not be sustainable as a franchise. Classifying yourself as a BBQ joint is downright sinister.

Barrie Big Bone BBQ was scheduled to do the catering for my wedding, I had given them a deposit and we had everything planned for the day. A week prior to the wedding I called to add and extra party pack and found out through their voicemail that they are temporarily closed. I was not notified or refunded.

Always good food and very pleasant service when I come here. Problem being, whenever I am in town on business, they are closed ! Can t enjoy the food when it s not available. Sign on the door still says they are open Tuesdays, not this Tuesday.

TERRIBLE! What happened to this place? It used to be good. It s was awful! We ordered the 95$ meal for 4-6 .b the Ribs were dried out , soggy wings, tasteless coleslaw and weird tasting cornbread. We were so embarrassed as we told our friends how good the ribs are here. The Owner refused to try and make it right by offering us a complimentary meal, so I guess he doesn t care about customer satisfaction or poor reviews. Time to find a new place for ribs.

Ordered through Skip and chose honey garlic. Order arrived with only a small drizzle of BBQ sauce on 2 wings and no honey garlic. Called the store and only then was told if you order the original they only come with BBQ. No where when you order identifies that and I was charged $1.91 twice for sauce I did not get. Called and they continued to argue. Stating it doesn t come with anything but BBQ so again told him then state that and don t allow us to be charged for sauces twice that aren t included. Won t order again place is not what it use to be.

Food was so gross. What a waste of $95! Ribs were rock solid and gross. Chicken wings were soggy and lacked any seasoning or flavour just a very poor coating of sauce. Corn bread might have been the most disgusting I ve ever had. Beans were also somehow extremely disappointing. Avoid this restaurant!

Ordered through DoorDash. Paid for sauce on the wings and it came with only barbecue sauce. Ribs came dried out , barely a drizzle of sauce on the ribs and outsides were very burnt.

Have not been here since the Monday meal was $25. We were in the area and decided to try it again as it had always been good. Dont recommend going on a Monday as they are closed Tuesday and apparent they reheat and sauce wings and ribs from weekend as not to have excess food waste to toss Monday night. (My Opinion). Ribs were dry, sauce was good. Wings also were very dry meat but the sauce was OK. Generous portion of fries. I got a 1/2 side of onion rings. 11 less than impressive rings for 7.47 that the menu said 6.50? . Friendly staff, clean but dated restaurant. I will give it another try maybe on a busy night. I remember used to be the place was packed during the Monday supper getting the deal!!

Opened late, very strong smell of incense upon entry like way overpowering! Got the chicken club - very dry, ribs very dry - it seemed to us that we were served reheated food and for the price not good. Weve been going to this location for years however this is the last time. Also be prepared to pay $10 a beer! not a pitcher a glass!!!

Food has gone downhill over the years. Ribs had barely any sauce, fries and chips were stale. I ordered ahead and it tasted like they left my food out for an hour. Flavour was good but the overall experience wasnt as great.

What once was is definitely no more. Big Bone BBQ used to be one of the better Wing and Rib locations in Barrie. But that has since disappeared. My family ordered in and the driver picking up the order had to give us a play-by-play of the issues he was running into with the process of ordering and obtaining the order. 3 hours after the initial order we were greeted by some of the most abysmal food Ive had. Orders were missing portions; 6 ribs, received 3-4, etc. The fries were either soggy or hard as rocks. The sides were bland and not fresh. Overall an extremely expensive disappointment.

Don t bother placing an order here. Placed an order at 5:20PM and we are STILL currently waiting for it at 8PM. This is not just a being busy situation. This is blatant disregard for time. Do not offer online orders and delivery if you cannot follow through. Update: WRONG ORDER. Missing a total of 9 ribs. 2 full racks, 3 - 6 ribs meal. Each 6 rib meal only came with somewhat 3 ribs if you could say that. Utterly disgusting. We are owed $24.75 for the lack of food received. Food: cold, no flavour, fries dry and reheated, sides were watery.

Definitely not what it once was... service was fairly fast, it was clean, but the food just wasnt up to par. It wasnt bad but just wasnt great.

Burnt burgers, good fries and subpar pulled pork. Not sure if this is a barbecue place , food seems too subpar for one. Also all the prizes they won I think they were from previous owners . Deceitful and in the end too expensive for subpar food. Only good thing was the service, would not go back or recommend to anybody. If you look at the pictures they were showing bigger sides but now they got cheap and serve the sides in small ketchup plastic containers

Went for lunch and was very disappointed. The food is not nearly as good as it used to be, I agree with other reviews the only thing that tastes the same is the fries. I dont know what kind of ribs they use but they are not tender and there is a ton of fat, which means they are either not smoked ribs or they are old smoked ribs. They also didnt sauce them. We used to go weekly until covid shutdowns and thought we would try again, shouldnt have bothered. The also charge for water which is really odd. Update: We tried it again and it was worse. The quality of the food has gone completely down hill, the owners clearly do not come from a BBQ background and they are rudeeeeeee. It is a shame because it used to be great but it was purchased by someone who does not take pride in their work. Also I read other reviews and the owners replies are just nasty, do better.

It s been a while since I ve been here, so maybe my memory isn t 100% accurate, but I m pretty sure the portions are smaller, the prices are higher, the quality is poorer, and the service is slower. Ribs and wings seemed overcooked (dry and tough). Coleslaw was tasteless, cornbread was sawdust, and the beans were watery. Too bad, this used to be a treat, but I won t go back.

Always have a great experience ordering from here and have never been disappointed with the portions or taste. Keep up serving the best meat around!

Very nice place with excellent staff, service and food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that loves bbq and great eats. The food was delicious, the coleslaw was a bit dry i added some ranch dressing and was perfect. Our waitress was very pleasant (she might have been the owner). Would definitely go again.

Dont waste your money here. Salad was browning, ribs were so fatty, pulled pork was dry, brown bag it was delivered in smelt of mold. Couldnt even eat the cornbred because all you smelt was mold. Absolutely disgusting place.

Not only the food was of terrible quality, but my meal was also ruined since there was hair in it. When I tried to address the issue, I found staff (the lady and the man) was already engaged in a heated argument with a food delivery driver. It s disheartening to witness such disrespect towards someone just trying to earn a living. This restraunt lacks basic hygiene standards and decency towards its customers. Staff was really rude. And now I an seeing no apology in your subsequent comment. And I can accept this behaviour from you as I have witnessed the same during my interaction. Be responsible for the actions.And I do not hold any skip or other driver accounts. It was a terrible experience and now I am seeing a terrible reply to my review. And don t call the customers who had terrible experience as delivery drivers, just because someone mentioned the exact circumstance. This place has the best ribs in Barrie! By a long shot. I recently ordered a couple of their party packs as food for a party and it was a big hit with everyone! Consistently good food every time and friendly, helpful service. Food

Compared to the location in maple, the flavour and taste was slightly down. Also I pre-ordered on the phone for pick-up and tried adding an extra rack of ribs, I was told they are unable to add this as they don t have the option to do so. This is weird and never had this problem elsewhere when it comes to adding something to my meal.

Horrible food. Horrible customer service. Very unprofessional. We ordered ribs and they were absolutely disgusting. They were hard, not fall off the bone, they were overdone. Not what you expect from a bbq place. Let alone that- we called to let them know how unsatisfying everything was and rather the fixing the situation or providing customer service- they wanted us to bring the food back even though we had guest over and they didn t understand we couldn t come back. Ontop of that, the manager hung up on me because I requested a refund and they refused to give us a refund. Don t waste your money on horrible bbq. Such a shame.

For a $20 tax in chicken sandwich which I was told was fresh chicken but looks like a really poor frozen chicken nugget it s extremely disappointing. Very literally a cheap McDonald s or BK chicken sandwich is much better than this.

The service is very friendly and welcoming but the food quality has gone down significantly. Whoever is cooking either is not knowledgable about making ribs or doesn t want to put in the time and effort. The pulled pork was decent.

Ribs were high quality and done right, plenty of moist and juicy meat! Smoked wings were excellent. Pulled brisket was good but a little greasy. The biggest surprise for me was the quality and attention to detail with the sides; perfect fries, delicious slaw, bread and beans. Warm inviting staff and simple honest dining room decor. Overall, far superior to the big name roadhouse chains and the owners really take pride in their work. The only reason this doesnt have 5 stars from me if I havnt tried everything on the menu yet!

PLEASE READ If I could give this location a ZERO I would . Yesterday afternoon I called to place an order for New Years dinner (pick up at 6). We ordered the Party Pack #2 for 2-3 people. We arrived at the restaurant ten minutes prior to pick up, and my husband was given attitude by one of the employees. She said it wasn t six o clock yet and to wait. At six o clock my husband went back in, a waited fifteen minutes until he got our order as they were moving slow to cash out customers. When we got home and opened the containers, we were flabbergasted. The fries (large) was the quantity of a McDonald s medium (soggy and cold), the wings were tiny and the ribs were burnt. We decided to call the store, and the manager was super ignorant, defensive and wasn t understanding of our disappointment. We explained that this was the second time we ordered from here, and the portion and quality of the food was WAY better which is why we decided to return. After an almost five minute conversation with the manager, my husband gave him no choice but to take the food back and give us our money. To conclude my review, I can t stress enough how miserable they made our New Years Eve. They are a complete rip off. To pay $54.00 plus tax for food that could barely feed one person is completely absurd! Save yourself the disappointment and take your business else where. Management needs a lot of work. We will never be returning !

Ive been going here for several years now and have almost always had a fantastic experience. The staff have always been friendly and the food has been second to none. The only time my fries have ever been less than warm is when I was late to pick it up. I always ask for a bit more sauce, and Ive never been disappointed. The Big Bone Combo has been my go to meal and its large enough to make two meals for this 6 200lb man. A couple of months back, the ribs were tough and not cooked to the usual quality as I have come to expect. The owners were very apologetic and offered to provide another serving of ribs. I chose not to take advantage of this gesture as I didnt think it was necessary. For what its worth, I ordered the same meal the following week and the ribs were fantastic.

Under new management Ribs are not fall off the bone. They were quite tough and chewy. Chicken not so tender. In all fairness the BBQ sauce and French fries were very tasty.

Minets Point location must be under new ownership. Very disappointing! Ordered dinner for three, prices were reasonable but the wings and ribs were not the usual standard at all....far from slow cooked! Better ribs from M&M! Weve been going there for 10-15 yrs and I share the meal was not worth it.

Pulled pork recipe has remained the same as far as I can tell but I will attest for the other reviews about it being under new management and has gone down hill. Prices have gone up. Kind of figured it s industry standard to include cutlery for takeout. Out of forks and give me and my boyfriend spoons to eat poutine with.. lol. They have a wholesale club directly beside them where they can get forks if they re in between orders. Total laziness. I give them three stars because they gave me a metal fork after I came back to say something, and we re friendly despite my evident frustration. Just kind of silly. Don t buy a place just to trash the reputation they ve built..

Nice to see this owner arguing with a customer about the wings they served people on Saturday evening!! They most certainly were ROTTEN out food too came out in less than 5 minutes so they must cook them ahead of time and just reheat them as the outside was hot and inside room temperature. Don t worry we have contacted the health unit as it s obvious they not only do not take customer complaints seriously they also accuse the customer of lying! This place has SERIOUSLY gone down hill since the new management. We wound up with food poisoning. We also saw a cook rip open a bag of onion rings with his teeth in the kitchen. Don t eat here. It s filthy and had horrible customer service.

The staff were very pleasant even coming from the kitchen ensuring we had been served as we waited for our order. The six bone dinner was received in a timely manner and looked as delicious as our usual location in Newmarket. The ribs were flavourful however they were so tough we gave up trying to get the meat off the bone and have 2 left in the box we couldn t bother fighting with. Not sure whether this issue is product or cooking method related. This review defies my usual raving reports but cannot with this experience. All three stars are for the fries and the staff.

Ordered ribs wings and a brisket poutine. The ribs were dry and tough being over cooked was hoping for fall of the bone. Wings were also over cooked. The poutine was ok but as the brisket was just a heap of saucy meat i find it better when you cook the meat separately then add sauce on top as you could only taste bbq sauce and not the meat. Couldnt even tell it was brisket. Over was disappointed

Nice people running this, but unfortunately the wings didnt measure up. Overly crisped and dry for my taste, not especially flavorful. Beer selection was also lacking, basically one craft option. Might try again one day to see if theres improvement. Have been to chain elsewhere and was very happy.

The food has changed since I first had their ribs...it aint fall of the bone ribs... Corn bread was cold... The service and atmosphere is 5 stars...the food isnt what it used to be.

Only open till 8 pm . Than go to make an order and they tell me I cant pick it up for an hour and a half.firat off i dont appreciate being called a liar. And I did call and someone did tell me that time. I called at 6 and someone told me 720 to. So before you go and tell someone is a liar get your facts straight.

They have good deals and staff is very welcoming but the food isnt the best. I have had big bone bbq at other locations making it a good option for take out but this specific location isnt the best at it. Still good taste just not usual big bone bbq quality. Wow. I originally thought I was taking my wife and kids to place i went to five years ago, but when I pulled up I realized my mistake. I felt disappointed until I walked in the door. Amazing food. Ribs and wings were outstanding. My kids loved the Poutine. Staff was friendly and the food came quick. Zero complaints. Best mistake Ive made in a long time. You need to ear here. Will definitely be going back.

This place has gone down hill since new owners took over. We ordered the 1lb pulled pork, the meat was dry and they skimped out on the pork. It felt a bit light so we weighed the pork with our kitchen scale. They only gave us 350grams. 1lbs=453g. Very disappointed. And to top it off when we called to let them know, they made excuses. customer service was horrible. I would not recommend going here anymore.

I would have given 0 stars if I could. I ordered 1 lb of pulled pork and when we got home we weighed the pork (minus container) and found it was only 0.8 of a lb. Thinking that there had been a mistake, I called the store and instead of receiving an apology I received denials and excuses. It s was very poor customer service in my opinion. This restaurant will not be in business long. Very disappointed. Will not be returning. I see your response.. and hence no change in the way you handle problems.. denial again. Perhaps your scales or cup size is wrong. I know what I received.. Btw the other review was in grams vs this one that is in lbs. we should have got 1lb (453grams). We received 0.8 (350 grams). Either way you charged me for a product I did not receive.

I went to pick the order for Uber eats. The staff was very rude to me.

What happened??? Have they changed owners? I ordered the Monday special and asked for the ribs and wings to be saucy. This didn t happen at all. In fact, there was less sauce than normal. The ribs were heart attack salty and dry. We were charged extra for onions on a cesear salad really!?! We have been faithful to Big Bone BBQ for years but keep this up and it will come to an end sooner than later. I will be making a complaint tomorrow for sure! Now is not the time to slack off in terms of quality and consistency. Any company can be replaced. Bring back good food quality as it was before. Hope this review helps other pending customers!

Awesome food deals for groups, very affordable and very delicious

This place might have the best wings Ive ever tried! Great service! They got us in even though they were closing in 30 minutes. They were very friendly, quick and everything was delicious! Thank you!

New Management is AWESOME!!! We have been going to Big Bone Barrie for years. We were really sad when things turned for the worse there but not anymore!!! They are kind, food was ready on time and fresh, and super polite/professional. So happy to see this change and look forward to many more great meals there p.s. wings are amazing too (not just the Management haha)

We were a party of 6. I got a poutine they advertise real cheese curds. It was cut cubes of processed white cheddar. The coleslaw had almost zero dressing. The burger bun was so dry I removed it. My youngest was mortified because the chicken wing still had fine chicken feathers poking through the breading. Tried the oldest daughters wing, honey garlic. Was good but the bone was smashed up inside. The fries are great, not in poutines! Service of the boss guy was pretty good. One staff member I asked if the had wifi, she said yes. I guess she thought I wanted wine. Language barrier for sure. I guess no wifi cause it s too expensive according to the man in charge. Not the end of the world without wifi. It is for the teens! But wifi is pretty standard for the most part now at a sit down restaurant.

Obviously love this place! The food is always soo fresh and delicious that my gf and I have made it apart of our date nights and each time we are excited to go! I usually go for the Elvis and I m always left with left overs which is great for the price! The staff is always so nice and quick!

I erased my 4 year old review... which I had made it a 5 star rating back then... Ok, Iam not sure, but I think there is new owners here at the Barrie location? So with that in mind, that is why I rated 2 stars.. this was my go to bbq place, by light years better than anywhere else!!! But.. but.. it breaks my heart to say all this. I was feeling wings today, 2 hrs before the Leaf game. I ordered 1lbs(Alabama slamma)and fries. So-ooooooo glad I didnt get ribs with it. The order was fast, I chose to pick up. Got home(3 mins away) wings where not hot but not exactly cold either... but they where dry, over cooked and hardly any sauce. May as well call it none!! Now with that said we all have bad days, granted I will try again this week.!!! Im not looking for nothing free. Ill give it another shot. If then everything is as it used to be my rating will go back to 5 . Please, please owner if you read this, can we get back to the good old school, classic big bone quality!! Sauceem up!!! New ownership is completely incompetent. I dont think they have cooking experience. Absolutely awful now. Tough, cold BBQ. Big Bone (the Franchise) needs to intervene with this location. Because its tarnishing their name.

For a place called Big Bone BBQ I would expect larger portions given the price. Brisket sandwich was mediocre, would prefer if it was not shredded and less sauce to taste the smokiness. Good fries.

Eat anywhere else! The new owners only care about profit not food quality. We ordered and our food arrived literally within 3 minutes. Our chicken wings tasted and smelled rotten so we didn t eat them but they refused to give us any kind of discount because no other table had complained but there was only one other table in the restaurant. Our cutlery and glasses were also dirty. It s sad because this use to be a decent place to eat, unfortunately the new owners only care about profit and could care less if they make you sick. We ll never be back :( To the owner s response.. someone s lying and it s not me. You ruined this place. At least have the decency to be honest, not try and call me a liar. Good luck! There will be a for lease sign in the window before the end of the year.

Great ribs!

BB-BBQ is simply great. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, not that Ive tried it all, but I will. I love the ribs, wings, fries and coleslaw. Have also tried the combo plates, pulled pork and beans are great too. If you like BBQ you will like BB-BBQ.

The food is good, truly a taste to remember, when I want some BBQ food, and I dont feel like making it big bone is my place to go.

We just had dinner - take out from the Barrie location. We were so disappointed in our meals. We have eaten here before...what happened? You should be embarrassed about what you served. Pretty sad when I can get a better burger and chicken burger from wendys or Harveys or pretty much any fast food place. What a waste of $50. My chicken burger was not a chicken breast but some sort of processed breaded chicken thing that did not even resemble what would look like a chicken breast and didnt even cover half the bun and was dry. My hubbys fantasy burger has left him fantasizing...meat patty was burnt and dry. He thinks there was bacon on there...not sure. We certainly will not be ordering from here again and advising all our friends who used to rave about this place our terrible experience. I guess this explains when we picked up our food why the place was empty. Do better or you will be closed in no time!!! I would have rated this place with NO STARS but that was not an option. Loved the place Seems like there are new owners I ordered 2 lbs of wings and received 12 wings called to inform them and received 0 help. I paid 44.00 I tried to call and fix the issue !!!!!!!! Then called again and they hung up on me, is that the way you treat your clients , if so shame on you !!!!!!!!!!!! And they never asked me to return the food My opinion Not worth the money , will not ever be returning to big bone Funny when I called they said they wanted my phone number and the owner would call me but then was informed the owner served me ???? Unfortunately this please is not close to Georgina big bone quality. The coleslaw don t taste as creamy and fresh and neither the ribs.

I ordered two party packs (3 and 5) for a bachelor party I was planning. Piraba was so accommodating being able to arrange delivery so no one had to worry about driving there to pick it up in the middle of the weekend. The food was fantastic and got rave reviews from everyone. It delivered well also and was still hot when we sat down to eat. The value was great for what we ordered and it all ended being a highlight of the weekend. I couldnt recommend them more.

Went with my two daughters for lunch. Waitress seemed nice, but a bit hard to understand. After food delivered, she didnt come back. Waited for the bill for a while before just paying at register. No idea if bills are presented at table. No direction there. The good.....My wings were glorious. Maybe best in town. My dughters had chicken burger and a cheeseburger, which were kinda small. It didnt look like a 14$ burger n fries. Both ended up eating some of my wings. So yes, wings and ribs are amazing...but definitely not a burger joint. One app & 1 beer, it was 100$ for the 3 of us...kinda ouch.

Staff was friendly and their wings were great, but the ribs were burnt and tough. The coleslaw and beans were flavorless and (I assume?) from a jar/can. The beer prices werent listed but came in at $9.55 for a pint (kinda high). Id say the food prices were on for what you get, and the atmosphere was fine, a bit quiet.

Visited Big Bone BBQ and Wicked Wings in Barrie for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. Opted for the Elvis combo on the servers recommendation what a home run! The smoked wings, pulled pork, and ribs were all top-notch, and its clear these folks know BBQ. The establishment was clean, had an inviting ambiance, and even at an off-peak time like 3 PM, the staff were engaging and happy to chat. Truly a five-star experience that not only met but exceeded expectations. If youre on the hunt for top-tier BBQ, consider this place a must-try. You wont leave disappointed or hungry. Ill certainly be back and highly recommend it to anyone in search of quality BBQ and an excellent customer experience.

I love Big Bone! Nashville Nachos are a family favorite. I dont know how they keep the chips so crispy but I love it. Portion sizes have declined over the last few years, really the only thing keeping it from 5 stars. We bring the nachos home and Amp it up a bit with more toppings and more pulled pork.

Ordered through Skip. Food was cold when it arrived(not sure if Skip or the Restaurants fault), but this is how the Pig Skins came. Burnt to a crisp...how do you send this to a customer? Not impressed at all Big Bone, definitely not what you used to be.

Read it all to know who they actually are. So, my first time going to this store to pick up Doordash order and they refused to give order because I didn t have a catering bag. As a new dasher it takes 3 to 4 days for bag to arrive(bought it from doordash store). I told them I ll call the customer to ask if they are okay with it and the customer agreed. The customer even called them(very kind of her) to hand me the order. But that lady at the reception still won t give it to me. I m not gonna give it you. I m not gonna give it to you. It doesn t take courage much to be polite. I don t know what type of vibes they have for customers since they refused the customer who actually paid $200 for food.

This was the third big bone BBQ Ive been too but the quality of the food was just not as good as the others. Wings were good but everything else was nowhere near the quality I expected like at the newmarket or Markham locations.

I must admit all the food Ive ever ordered from here has been amazing over the years and figured the crispy chicken sandwich would be top notch but unfortunately this was a huge disappointment. I was expecting some kind of bulky fresh chicken breast with a breaded crunch but instead it seemed to be one of those cheap frozen precooked chicken burgers you can buy from the grocery store. Just why.

Extremely small also a order of O-Rings 1lb chicken wings 8 chicken wings About the size of ones hand then enter amount of wings in the 1lb My cost for taking a chance on your restaurant was $86 Dollars Of pure disgust. I dont mind spending the money. Im good food however, I will never ever recommend or step foot in your restaurant. Food was great, had to ask for doggie bag and also was waiting for cheque when we asked we were told to just pay at the till. If we had of gotten away a little earlier nephew wouldnt of missed his first bus home. However both brisket and ribs were good!!!!

Every now and then you find a diamond! We walked in off the street as a group of fourteen. There was only two people running the restaurant. The lady was serving and the guy was cooking the food. Nobody ever gives a second thought to fries, but theirs was some of the best Ive ever had. All the food was amazing. When were back in Barrie, well definately come eat here again.

So disappointed this hidden gem is no longer a gem Unfortunately, I think this place is being run under new management and staff that sadly, dont have the same skills or passion the previous did. My daughter had the wings and I had the brisket. Chicken wings were just meh when they used to be amazing.. she only ate 2 when she used to lick the bones clean. The Brisket though.. was brutal. It used to be so tender and flavorful, cut just perfectly and with the perfect amount of sauce and now its a mushy pile of I dont even know forsure that im pretty sure sits for way too long soaking in BBQ sauce with high hopes that the soak will hide the lack of flavor and dryness of the meat itself.. Id also like to note.. I do know some people pull their brisket but this was way beyond that. Literal mush. Either they dont know how to use the smoker or theyve abandoned it all together but I know I wont be back. The only thing going for them are amazing fries these days. Also.. Mr. New owner... some people dont always post their reviews the same day.. Doubting and dismissing criticism instead of trusting your once loyal customers opinions and learning to do better wont get you anywhere in the restaurant industry. Wish you the best!

Big Bone ribs have been my favourite for years but on my last visit, they weren t up to their usual 5 star standard. The ribs were excessively oily (I wiped them with paper towel) and lacked zest. The plump chicken wings stole the show! Accompaniments we re delicious including the coleslaw, fries and cornbread. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. Let s go!

i tried one hot thai and parm garlic. it was very tasty it was better than the wings i had at lockeroom. Moreover, rhe sauce options were more at this place. would recommend people to come out here and try wings

They answer the phone rarely. The fries, cornbread- most of the sides are not good. I placed an $80 order, they gave me the wrong order and did not return my call to make it right. When Id picked up that order, they werent busy to excuse any of it either: only one table seated. I wont be going back, a shame because theyre just around the corner. And the ribs and wings are good

To be honest, this place used to be my all time favorite! But the last couple visits, it seems like the place has gone entirely downhill. A few months ago, I hyped the restaurant up to some friends. So we all decided to go. We got there at opening on a Saturday, so did the person running it. They had got there after we did. Therefore, nothing was heated, started or ready for opening... We waited over an hour for our food which we were informed we would have to wait when entering. Which okay, we will wait because like I said, I hyped this place up. Even an hour after waiting, myself and my friend who both got the pulled pork were appalled that both our sandwiches were cold. Not just luke warm but freezing cold. We spent $125 on cold food that day. The second time we came back after this experience, was again a Saturday an hour before closing. When we came in to order, we were told by the same person that served us the previous Saturday, that they were closing in an hour, therefore had turned everything off so were no longer serving anyone. An hour before close? Why have service hours if you cant even be served during those hours. Last time and final time we went was again, a weekend and the service was terrible, the food was cold and we again spent so much money to be disappointed. The only time you can get good food from this establishment is during the week. If its a weekend, please dont bother going. You will be dissatisfied.

Checked online to make sure restaurant was open for dine in and it said dine in is available and restaurant is open untill 8pm on saturday. We drove 35 minutes and arrived at 5pm only to be told that they would not seat anyone in the dining room and it was closed and it was take out only. There was another group at a table drinking beers. As we had a 35 minute drive back home we didnt really want to grab takeout and risk the food being cold when we got home. We eventually decided to order and were told it would be a 45 minute wait for food. We ended up leaving without ordering. Website should be updated to save people the drive. Not everyone is local to barrie and have a quick drive home. Disappointed as we used to look forward to coming here for family dinners.

Disregard any bad reviews! They have recently changed ownership and it is amazing!! I almost didn t go based on the reviews. They close at 8 PM and we re allowing people to walk in at 8 PM without problems or hesitation. Wait time is good, customer service is good. Money value is good.

Awesome place for ribs, great customer service

Honestly, I dont really understand all the good reviews abiut the ribs. My girlfriend and I shared a full rack and 1lb of wings. The ribs were dry and far from tender. Easily the worst ribs we had in Canada - and we usually both love ribs and therefor had quite a few on our travels. The ribs just werent smoked long enough and much too firm to serve as good ribs. The fries were okay, not good not bad. The beans that came with the ribs were a bit too sweet for our taste (we know how they taste in England and that was not it). Unfortunately, we also didnt like the cornbread but to be fair, we never had one before so I cant talk about quality here. We did like the wings, although I doubt that they were smoked for three days as advertised. Anyways, they were really tasty and we quite liked them. The staff was really friendly and nice.

My family and I just had dinner from Big Bones Minnets Pt. Barrie Ontario and we all enjoyed it a lot. We will be back there soon for dinner again. Good Food

This has always been my go to place for ribs. However, a few months ago, the place now has a new owner and the food is not good. As I entered the restaurant, I was not greeted by the usual smell of smokey food goodness. The ribs now have little to no smokey taste to them and the meat quality of the ribs is very poor. The new owner is obviously using a new rib supplier. The brown beans are now sitting in a watery mess and taste horrible. Its too bad the new owner has changed things as these were the best ribs around... not anymore. This is the Barrie location.

First time for getting Big Bone under new management. Was a very very bad experience. Reasons why 1. Customer service sucks cant understand them speaking. And they lied stating they would personally deliver the remaining food order that they didnt give the skip the dishes driver after hours once they closed. They never called nor did they delivery my missing items from my meal 2. Food was very dry(pulled pork) Ribs were really greasy. French fries were over cooked. Just a really bad experience all the way around with Big bone (Barrie location) since under new management Will never go back there again for any meals

First time trying since new owners took over. Got our normal Monday special but was very disappointed ribs and wings were good but the ribs didn t fall off bone like they use too. Plus they use to always give a separate large container of fries, onion rings or salad now you just get a handful of fries thrown in with the wings and ribs. Not worth the $38 it cost now.

Quality has gone way down hill, was served a sad attempt at the chicken club..the peameal bacon covered less than half of the sandwich and was cooked to the consistency of jerky and Im pretty sure they used a chicken strip instead of a chicken cutlet. There was also onions and pickles on it which as a long time customer it s never had. I contacted the store with my complaints and they chose to block me on Facebook and ignore the obvious quality issue going on here. This store clearly cares more about their carefully curated Facebook post photos instead of the actual food they are serving. And blocking me on Facebook instead of addressing the issue shows their blatant lack of customer service. I wouldn t recommend eating here to anyone.

This is the best place Ive been to in a very long time. Ordered a very large takeout. Everything was packaged nicely, hot and delicious. Easily enough food to satisfy 6 adults and 2 children with leftovers to boot. This place was recommended to me and Big Bone did not disappoint. 10 stars if I could. From the gentleman who took my order the the woman who packed the order they (and the kitchen staff) all knocked it out if the park. Well done!!! I will definitely be back!

Horrible I used to come here all the time, it used to be the best smoked food spot in barrie. Now it has new owners and the food quality is horrible. It drastically went down. The ribs are small and barely smoked. their smoked wings aren t smoked they re just bbq quick. These new owners are clearly money, hungry and have no passion for smoked food and it shows. I paid $40 for the big bone combo that I always used to get and was very disappointed to find out how little food is now in that meal. I feel cheated because they kept the name which was associated with amazing food to keep business coming in, but completely changed the food. They should have changed the name when they bought it because this is not big bone anymore. I m very disappointed and will not be coming back. Way to expensive for what you get. The new owners are also hard to understand over the phone and customer service is not good.

First time having Big Bone since under new management, and I can say I will never return. I ordered the $72 Platter and asked to pay the $10 extra for brisket instead of pork, I was put through to talk to 2 different people who couldnt understand me at all and had me repeat my request several times. The owner said he would make one time exception for me... he charged me the $10 extra for the brisket but when I got home, I realized I didnt get brisket and paid extra for nothing. The quality of food is terrible, ribs are TINY and dry, portion is terrible, it is NOT the same at all. All of my food was cold, too - the owners need to rename it or move along and pass this place on to someone who genuinely knows how to cook / smoke meat. Terrible terrible terrible.
