Just got pick up order It was the most disgusting Chinese food we have ever had..everything taste awful..we will never go back or recommend.place wasnt too clean as well.save your money..this order went directly into garbage bag.everything.3 bites thats it..

As a family we have been ordering food from CK for over 40 years. We ordered dinner to be delivered for 6:00 pm. Dinner arrived at 6:03. Dinner was hot and delicious. Thank you for making our special dinner delicious.

My mother ordered food one night because she loves CK but this night everything was so dry she couldn t eat one bite. She had put $50 on her credit card and had to put the whole dinner in the garbage. I guess that s what heat lamps will do. It certainly was not the CK we all have come to love throughout the years.

Pork were miniscule slivers. Shrimp wasnt cleaned out. Tasted awful. No spice. Smelled bad. Spring rolls were mushy pasty inside. Smelled bad. My dogs wouldnt even eat it. Absolutely the worst Ive ever had. Maybe it was an off day for them or this menu option just isnt good. Im 30 weeks pregnant and I hope to God I dont get sick. Delivery lady was very nice.

I like CK and it has been our go to for 10+ years. Always good food, and customer service both pick up and delivery. I also like that they added an online ordering service, which I have used twice now. The payment process when doing online ordering is horrible though, please address this! When I submitted my order it asks for payment method and details and gives you the impression youve paid. I received no confirmation telling me other wise. Delivery arrives and says they have to charge me. It took several attempts for the driver to match the bill and approximately 10 minutes for me to complete paying for it all while standing outside freezing while this got sorted out. Driver was friendly and apologetic, mentioning that this happens regularly. Come on CK if your going to charge for in house not skip etc. delivery (not including tip) and offer online ordering give the customers and delivery staff the tools to succeed.

Worst order of general Tao I ve ever had, if that wasn t enough I was getting attitude by a kid over the phone when placing my order and asking how long it will take, when my wife went to pick it up they thought they gave the order to someone else and couldn t find it, I Will not be returning here.

Rice was dry. Sesame chicken had to have been cooked twice at least. Chop suey was 90% bean sprouts. Horrible and expensive

What an absolute joke. Was told 30 minutes. Showed up 40 minutes later. Was told ten more minutes and it ended up being 1.5 hours. They told every customer in the showroom that was waiting ten more minutes everytime. Got home, half the food was cold, no flavourful to half my meals. Will never order here again. Absolutely garbage food and service.

The worst food of any kind I cannot believe the first time ordering food from a restaurant in over 3 years and large amount of money spent that the food could be so terrible. The food was either overcooked and dry or undercooked and no taste whatsoever. When my husband went to pickup food they said there was no order they couldnt find it after about 10 min they finally found our order. I wish now they never found our order and we walked out with nothing we would have been better off. I did not call right away because it was to late that night I did not call next day was enjoying day with family. Called next day after I threw out all the remainder of the food . I called and was told it was too late to do anything about it now. Well sorry closed after eating and I explained was with family next day did not want ruin another day. Do not waste your money or your taste buds dont order food from here. No flavour, No taste, NO GOOD.

Have always loved CK. I ordered pick up on Mothers Day and knew it would be busy. They said 45 minute wait. I showed up after an hour. I was told 15 more minutes. Came back and they said 10 more minutes. Went back again and they said 15 minutes. Went back and they said my order was being packed. I don t mind waiting but tell me when I order and I will come later. So many people were upset.i got home and told wife at least it will be hot and fresh. It was the worst Chinese food I ever had. No flavor and 3 out of the 4 dishes were ice cold and the 4th was warm at best. So disappointed.

Dreadful food. Used to be really good a few years ago. Lemon chicken was a joke. Burnt pieces of dough with hardly any chicken. One .bite was enough. Ck rice and thai curry watery and mainly chucks of green peppers. Now having grilled cheese sandwich. Dont waste your money.

AWFUL!!! I moved to Barrie about 10 years ago ... this was the best Chinese food in town! I came here about a month ago and got the dinner B like I always did ... unfortunately it wasnt that great. But hey! I tried again tonight ... same dinner... Rice actually tasted burnt ... I asked for a bottle of water it wasnt even cold... and then I always got a side of sweet n sour sauce ... didnt get it so I went back in and they charged me 3.00 for a small container ... not what I asked for at all!!!! The young man said they changed it ... this is what you get! Wow .... unbelievable... I came back to try again fove yhe benfit of doubt ... that maybe they were having a bad night last time ... but again the food wasnt as great and the service was horrible. Wont be coming back!

CK used to be THE BEST Chinese food in Barrie, not anymore - it must have been sold to new owners. The food quality is awful and there are often children running the front desk.

The order arrived cold...the sweet and sour ribs were so overcooked tgey couldnt be eaten. Deep fried shrimp were so cold its believed they were cooked for another order and leftover. No sauce for the eggrolls. When i called into complain she said nothing. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. THEY DONT CARE

A friend & I tried lunch here on Wed of this week. We asked for, & got, the lunch specials menu. I ordered General Tao, my friend the Chilli Chicken. The owner (I think) was friendly, sincere, accomodating. Our lunches were packed securely in containers & heavy brown bags. Both our lunches were excellent - especially General Tao. The chicken was tender, lightly breaded but crispy. Rice & veggies were perfectly cooked. Each lunch was packed full of chicken - not full of veggies. Quality = excellent; hot & perfect amount of sauce. Size = very, very generous. We live in Midland & come to Barrie twice a month for medical appointments. We WILL return!

First time and last time. Ordered online. There s an automatic tip which I thought was odd, but OK maybe it s worth it. Definitely wasn t. My order was sitting on the counter and I was about 12 mins early. Didn t love that. I m guessing it was their daughter (maybe 10-11 years old) who took my payment. It was the most pleasant part of the whole experience. Polite kid! Sorry CK, but your food was terrible. I took a few bites of each thing and threw it out. Dry bland fried rice. Gen Tao was chewy and tasteless. Chicken balls over breaded and dried out. I d add photos but it s literally in the trash.

The food is bland, sauce is water with soy. I order kung poa chicken, suppose to be fried chicken in sticky sauce, I got stir fried chicken with lots of celery and nuts. The chicken fried rice is all soy. Do not recommend.

Overcrowded in waiting room, despite pandemic rules, I canceled my order after waiting and will not return, lots of customers were upset waiting for long time, very disorganized.

Ordered dinner for 2, rice and chow mein were good, pork was disgusting, couldnt eat most of it because the pork had tendon things in them so you had to spit it out. Chicken balls were good, would return but woukd avoid the pork.

Just picked up our order. Was not what we ordered at all. Someone else has our great meal. Very disappointed and food what there was of it was very oily. Didnt even know what one item was, very burnt ant tough. Trying to help local restaurants....but?

Extremely disappointed. Waited over 3 hours for food. I called after 1.5 hours of waiting, to see how long our food would be and was told 5 minutes the driver was almost there. And spent another 1.5 hours waiting and the restaurant is now closed for the evening. Can t comment on the quality of the food as it never showed up.

Pretty much everything is quite good and reasonable. Not traditional chinese but for Northamerican style takeout its much better than average. Shrimp and chicken wings really stood out as super tasty. Loyal clientele been open for decades. I highly recommended this place. Must try.

i always love going there the food was freshly cook and the waiting room was clean but total opposite the place has cobwebs and dust, plants are dying even had a bottle water on window edge surrounded with cobwebs.As for the food the rice and noodle where very dry and crunchy like it s been fried a few times and the chicken like meatballs well forget it!!!!

The chicken fried rice was tasteless. Only rice and and dried chicken, no vegetables. The chicken chop suey was only bean sprouts with a bit of sauce and a couple pieces of rubbery chicken. The management has obviously stop caring about providing good food. The grandfather who started the business in Swift Current Saskatchewan in 1920 would be disappointed.

My chicken was delicious but my fried rice was over cooked and didnt get eaten. My pop was warm also so I had to add ice toy drink and it ended up watered down, very disappointing

Used to be a good place to get cheap Chinese food. Now its a good place to get overpriced garbage. Plain soft noodles are too plain (no bean sprouts, carrot or onion. Plain is supposed to mean no meat.) Egg rolls were 99% bean sprouts and 1 inedible piece of some kinda organ I think. Chicken balls were all breading with tiny bit if chicken jerky. Place is a joke. Never go here, they wont survive past the covid handouts they get from the govt.

I noticed a review that mentioned being hung up on. I had a similar experience but was pleasantly surprised it turned out to be a little girl who was taking the order on the phone and processed the payment when I got there. She is obviously too young and not yet versed in phone etiquette. I tried different dishes and would recommend the Vietnamese Spring Rolls(a tad greasy) but ohhh so delicious. The emperor s garden chicken was also a hit (clean tasting and lots of vegetables). I am Going to give them a third order tonight.

Food is good, however had to call 3 times to get order corrected and still was not accurate! Person taking order does not listen to what you want and speaks over you. We always used CK but this was the second time this happened. We will not be back!

Ordered an hour and a half ago, called them 3 times asking where our food was and each time they said it would be there any minute. So not impressed and will not be ordering from here again. It s fine if you re busy, but how about some curtesy to your customers?? A heads up? A warning? We live in the same end of town for heavens sake.

Dont order from them charge $6.00 for delivery when most if not all offer free delivery. They are trying to make a buck off us all.

Terrible service. Waited 2 hours for delivery and when it finally got here it was barely warm. Should have known from the minute I called and an 8 year old answered. I had picked up food from them before and never had an issue. Unfortunately I will not be back. Not impressed at all. There are plenty others to choose from.

Will never order here again. The rice was cold, the chop suey was slimey and tasted off. Won tons were good. Our order was missing the chicken, so we had no protein. All We were offered was a refund of the cost of the chicken. Big deal! We wanted our chicken! No soya sauce, no dry noodles with the chop suey, no fortune cookies. Very disappointed.

Ordered dinner for 4. After unpacking the order, noticed the ribs were missing and the chicken balls looked really weird. Very small, odd shaped and crumbly. Tried to bite into them, and it was not chicken meat. We couldnt identify what it was but nothing close to a plump, chicken ball. Never again!

Horrible customer service. I had ordered through Door dash for pickup. I had waited outside in the rain for an hour and a half to finally be told by a very rude lady inside that we do not take Door dash orders and I got waved away. If they were not on door dash, how was I able to place my order, get charged on my credit card and wait for an hour and a half to be dismissed without any food?? Excuses. I am very disappointed. I will NOT be returning just because of the very poor customer service. I am NOT pleased. Do not go here unless you want to be treated like trash. I placed my order at 5:53pm and it is currently 8:25pm and I have YET to receive my food. Goes to show how terrible this place is.

CKs has always been my favorite place to go for Chinese food.

Tasty Canadiana Chinese fare, ordered for pickup and they had $100 of food ready in 30 minutes. This place gets a lot of business, so if you think they will be busy, order ahead. If you complain about delivery taking too long, just dont be lazy and go pick it up yourself. Youll save time and your food will be warmer.

(fresh) Best chicken balls in Barrie,(consistency) Ask the nice older lady she makes them herself. I dont order Chinese food often, so the first time I went to pick up my order I ended up chatting with this really nice older lady. (owner) I was with my girl friend at the time, and we probably spent about 10-15 minutes chatting about school. (she had a granddaughter that was about to attend our college) I kid you not, we probably ordered CK again months after my first visit. When I went to pick up my food, she remembered everything ! Good People, Good Food, I only order my Chinese Take Out from CK.

Heard and read that this was a good place that has been serving Canadian Cinese food to Barrie for 40 years. However, I was not impressed. The service was friendly and fast, but the food tasted bland and there was missing ingredients in items like the Cantonese Noodles, which they publicised as King of the Noodles, which I agree. But their noodles had no flavour, no squid or shrimp(which is a main ingredient with chicken, beef, and barbecue pork), and somewhat watery. I felt I was eating Ramon noodles. Also, the Chicken Soo Guys sauce looked and tasted like unseasoned chicken gravy! Definitely will not go there again or recommend it to anyone. Failing grade in my opinion.
