My friend and I had a wonderful dinner at The Farmhouse in Barrie. The cozy atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. I ordered the goat cheese grilled cheese with mac & cheese, a fresh salad, and a glass of wine – everything was delicious and clearly made with care. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Perfect spot for a laid-back evening with great food!
We recently had our wedding reception at The Farmhouse, and it was absolutely perfect! The space was ideal for our 50 guests, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Lorisa, the coordinator, was AMAZING - she went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. The entire farmhouse team was incredible, making the planning process so easy and stress-free. The food was fantastic, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it. Highly recommend The Farmhouse for any special occasion!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Last Sunday night, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Farmhouse Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the inviting atmosphere and attentive staff. We kicked off our evening with a variety of cocktails, and let me tell you, they were amazing! Each drink was crafted to perfection and set a wonderful tone for the night. One standout was the Caesar, which featured an incredible twist with smoked halloumi cheese. We were both shocked and delighted by this unique addition. For our appetizers, we couldn't resist trying the crab and cheese dip. It was nothing short of spectacular—served in a perfectly seasoned cast-iron dish that kept it warm and gooey until the last bite. I also indulged in six fresh oysters that were incredibly tasty, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients. For our main course, we decided to share the pork chop, which was simply outstanding. The seasonal side of acorn squash was cooked perfectly; it had a wonderful al dente texture and came cleanly off the skin, making it a delight to savor. Our server was exceptional—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They truly made the experience even more enjoyable. Finally, we couldn’t resist ending our meal with crème brûlée for dessert. It was the perfect sweet finish to an amazing night. Overall, our experience at The Farmhouse Restaurant was nothing short of phenomenal. We can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!
This is a decent restaurant, with what I would call good food and a matching price point. The service is quite good as well. Now the venue. The parking lot is always ‘under construction’. You dodge traffic cones to get to the front door. There are two great outdoor seating options: ground floor and second level. The second level has a limited view of Kempenfelt Bay, which is nice. This part of the restaurant just needs some attention. Tables off balance, spider webs, peeling paint and we got the odd whiff of a trash smell. The burger is awesome, probably the best I’ve had. They have some very nice non-alcoholic spritz drinks that may seem a little pricey, but they are well worth it. Fries are good too. Overall a nice experience, and with a little work and this could be a 5-star restaurant. I hope they aren’t thinking of selling out to a developer (waterfront property). You kind of get that vibe with the construction in the area and letting the building go a little. It would be nice to have this restaurant around in the future.
I visited this restaurant on a weekend getaway to Barrie’s and it exceeded all my expectations!!! Great food and service! Everything tasted delicious and was fresh. I’ll definitely be coming back. I recommend the Chicken Avocado Sandwich and the Mac and Cheese!
The Farmhouse Restaurant is nestled inside a building steeped in history, originally the 1890 Waterfront Barrie Hotel, then repurposed as a YMCA in 1907, and rumored to have been a gentleman’s club in the 1950s. Located in Barrie, the venue itself is a draw, oozing with character. My journey from Aurora, Ontario was fueled by the buzz around this restaurant, especially given its connection to renowned chef Randy Feltis. Expectations were high, particularly because of the enticing Instagram posts showcasing what appeared to be an exceptional brunch. However, upon dining, while the meal was decent, it didn’t quite hit the mark of the five-star brunch we anticipated. It was good, but not out-of-the-way good. For locals in Barrie, The Farmhouse might be a convenient and interesting spot to try, especially to enjoy the ambiance of such a historic building. But if you're thinking about making a long drive with high expectations for a culinary revelation, it might not quite live up to those hopes. In short, it's a nice place for a casual meal if you're nearby, but I wouldn't recommend traveling long distances for the experience.
The restaurant and food all looked very good. But they just missed something. The food was just average and a bit blend. I loved their soup of day, and the chicken sandwich was ok. Everything else we tried was just average. The portions were big and filling.
This is an amazing restaurant and a must if you’re in the area! We stopped here on the way to Toronto and were pleasantly surprised from the minute we walked in. The staff was so welcoming and the decor is modern with a nod to the rich history of this building. The food was so on point. I had the avocado chicken sandwich, which was such a great blend of flavors. However, my wife had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich and I bit of sandwich envy. It was so unique and scrumptious with a hint of apple butter in the flavor palette. Service was prompt and we loved the personality of Trent who made us feel at home.
They somehow deleted my 1 star review on their deplorable service. Almost an hour to get a drink and over 2 hours to get food on a night that was not busy. Waitress kept tending to the only other table that was taken but not mine.
Seated at very poor table upon arrival in high traffic area at immediate bottom of stairs, next to bar, wait station and kitchen entrance when plenty of other tables were available throughout (and which never filled up so I cant understand what they were thinking). Asked to be seated at another table. Ordered three cheese omelets which came with multiple ingredients not mentioned on the menu which changed the taste of the dish, coffee cream in single serve was bad so changed taste of coffee and had to ask for a fresh cup, no butter or jam on side, just dry toast, fruit was dried out (arrived at 10:30 am so not confident it was prepped that day) noticeable cobwebs in upper corners of front windows. On the plus side, the home fries were excellent. Not horrible individually but as a whole, cant say it was a very positive experience. Too bad because it is a lovely older building.
I often order lunch for pickup from here. It s always quick, fresh, warm and tasty. You get a good amount for what you pay as well! The staff are friendly and always cheerful.
What a treat and positive experience. Great location with ample parking!
The service is usually pretty slow, but the staff is nice and the food is good, albeit pricey. However, I walked at 8 pm sharp thinking I would just grab a drink and a small appetizer. Only to be informed that they had decided to close. Even though they close at 9 pm. Kind of annoying. Oh well !
Great service and really good food, but it was so loud we could barely talk with each other
Great food and service, will be back the poutine is awesome!
5 stars all around. Lindsay was phenomenal, food was next to none and pricing was very comparable to other restaurants. Will definitely become a regular here! 10/10
Staff is always great and the food is really good. Love the goat cheese grilled cheese and burgers. As well as their soups are really nice.
The presentation of a dish is very important when choosing a restaurant. I ordered a burger on September 30th and this is what they served me. I told the waitress Lindsay that the bread and lettuce didnt look good and she told me that if I wanted fresh bread I could go to the restaurant on the corner, which I thought was too rude! Even the salad doesnt look like the restaurant photos. The place is very nice, but the attention of the staff leaves a lot to be desired.
The Farmhouse Restaurant is a gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. From the moment we walked in, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and were attentive without being overbearing. The food was truly outstanding delicious, well-seasoned, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Portion sizes were incredibly generous, especially for the price, which felt like great value. Every dish felt crafted with care, and it s clear that this restaurant takes pride in what they serve. If you re looking for a cozy spot with fantastic food and great service, The Farmhouse is a must-visit!
What a hidden gem! This place was fantastic, the food was delicious, the price was very reasonable, the restaurant was nice and clean, and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We will definitely be back!!!
I was there for a corporate event today. I have been there a number of times and always pleased. Today was incredible! We had a large private group and the food and service was amazing. We had a chance to divide our huge table into 2 groups which worked fantastic for discussion purposes. Everything was beyond great. The meat was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had.
Im not impressed by the food offered here, but I kept going back for the location and service. Vegetarian options: Yes Kid-friendliness: Yes
the service is really bad, very slow
When the food arrived it was a little cold, probably because we were with a large group. That said, we are coming back. Even cold, the food was delicious. I suspect, it will be much better the second time around.
Great breakfast. Huge portions. Great service. My suggestion is use a bacon that is either cooked differently or thinner. It was too tough to eat.
The place is dirty . The food is gross and expensive. I dont recommend it.
Best place to eat in Barrie!! Everything is made from scratch and tastes delish!! Servers are friendly and polite! Food
Dont know exactly what to say, we used to love this place and have tried it over and over again. Food quality is definitely not the same but the service is HORRIBLE...they are nice but ignore you, then apologize profusely. It could be so much better. Our go to places have definitely changed.
Great good! Fast service! Awesome bartender. Thanks
Came here for a wedding but the food is very well seasoned and so delicious! The service is fantastic and its very nice and cozy here
We were there for a cousins wedding and all of the staff was incredible. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was lovely.
Phenomenal food served to the entire table, crap dip was server was very relaxed and alert, highly recommend!
We had brunch for our first visit ever and the food/experience was middle of the road for us. The Pros: Great location and reasonable prices. Poached eggs cooked perfectly. Waiter super friendly, delivered service with a smile. We didnt have to wait long for anything. Coffee was topped up. Place is super cute, nice decor. A nice balance of simple and cozy to (appropriately) farmhouse chic. Cute patio outside with big beautiful plants and a welcoming entryway as you head in to the dining area. Nice to see some of the original architectural pieces of the house have been restored/maintained. Opportunities to improve: Hubbys eggs benedict werent hot. They forgot my toast with the Farmhouse breakfast and when it was brought out the bread wasnt buttered, it looked like a small dab of butter soaked into only the very centre. Hollandaise sauce doesnt taste like hollandaise and has grainy bits in it (mustard maybe?). Not sure what it tasted like really. Bacon had the most delicious intense smoky flavour, but both it and the breakfast sausages were very tough/dry as if theyd been cooked earlier and reheated in a microwave for serving. Summary: our experience may have been a one off. It was our first time going and I would go back if in the area to try it again based on service, ambience and brunch prices. The food was good, it wasnt amazing, but it was good. I would hope my bacon and sausages to taste fresher next time and be less tough/dry. I say try it if in the area. Ive heard good things from others, and we will be back one day.
More than my expectations Parking: Easy access Food : 5/5 |
Since being diagnosed with celiac, I ve never had a comfortable eating out experience. Our server, Ashley, made everything so amazing for me. She was quick to tell me a bunch of options and modifications they can do to ensure that I will also enjoy my meal. I have never felt so comfortable before and that s all thanks to Ashley!!!!! Definitely will come back knowing that I can eat well and know that they take allergies seriously! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
My son and his new bride hosted their wedding at The Farmhouse restaurant yesterday. Venue coordinator Lorisa was excellent in her service to us. She and staff members executed our vision for the wedding down to every detail. She took care of everything we asked. They turned the top floor dining room into a beautiful setting for our delicious meal and arranged the patio beautifullly for the ceremony. Lorisa ensured everything was in place, washrooms cleaned, candles lit, every piece of fallen garland swept up and added her own ideas and touches to make it a perfect wedding. And all within a very reasonable budget. I highly recommend The Farmhouse restaurant for any special occasion.
Lorisa and staff, thank you for being the absolute best. You made our special day perfect. Walking down to the dining room and the patio felt magical, all thanks to you. I will forever be grateful for your amazing service and care. Could not have chosen a better place to have our wedding.
Coffee is horrible, we all order eggs Benedict and the eggs were under cooked, the sauce was not home made and from a package but the home Frys were amazing! The washrooms were located in the basement and the staircase is dangerous at best and the washroom seems out of place given the location. A Reno is in order. The server was trying but just wasnt good enough!
Great food..great service..
We sat outside, but it was very windy...pricey but good food
I have been dining at this establishment for approximately 20 years. The food is outstanding (very large portions). The restaurant overlooks Kempenfelt Bay with a beautiful patio. Hence the 5 stars for atmosphere. The only reason this establishment does not receive a give star is that it employs younger serving staff (which I think is great). However, the service is at times slow when seated at tables. When seated at the rail (bar) service is swift and excellent. This is really a 5 star if that one item was improved upon. It is a fantastic restaurant!
Man, that guy (Irish man, true Canadian) is at least a 10.0/10.01 manager! This place is a true testimony to the people that can grow up in Barrie. Angels serve you, chefs cook for you, and you could do business, celebrate, or just stop in and feel at home! Parking: Frankly, if everyone could park better in this country, that d be fine by me. It s one of the best parking lots, in town. Keep it free and at least tip your bartenders!
The food was delicious. The wine was good. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and we even had some leftovers. All in a it was a good time at the Farmhouse. We will definitely be going back. Vegetarian options: They have several good vegetarian options. Parking: When I arrived the parking lot was full. After driving around twice, someone was backing out so I got their spot. Not a ton of parking but its adequate.
If you want to enjoy a relaxed restaurant near water with delicious food definitely try this one
Absolutely terrific!
I came in with my family (6 people), we had a variety of food off the menu. Everything was fantastic. Service was great (I believe Cass was her name). The cocktails were fantastic, on my way out I said thanks to the service bartender (I believe his name was Jamie). All around fantastic experience. Highly recommend.
We recently hosted a event at farmhouse for 60pp. The food and service was fabulous! Lorissa who was the event coordinator was so very helpful, very quick to respond to any of my inquiries and was at the event to assist us with anything we needed and was our amazing bartender! If you have a large event this is the place to go!
Great place we ve been twice and will be back, excellent friendly service. Support local!
It was stop to eat while commuting home. Maybe we were not lucky enough but it took about forever to get the order. Even though people who came after us were already finishing their food that was upsetting because it was windy and chilly outside and they had no room inside. So we were waiting and freezing about 40 minutes! The food is good, fatty but good in general.
Really brilliant place. Dropped by on a drive and had a really good lunch with family. Desserts are also to die for
The atmosphere is nice. Service was good. I cant say I didnt have a heads up as family warned me about the food here. Some reviews were also negative but I still wanted to give it a shot. The food lacks flavour. The crab dip was good but the 1/2 chicken was cold and flavourless. The soup of the day and rosemary potatoes were inedible. Very disappointed.
Really Nice patio, great staff, and dogs are allowed !!
I have eaten corn I broke my teeth . in the corn have little rock
We had a great time, and the service was amazing. The restaurant was rustic and bright, although there were a number of flies flying around inside as well as many cobwebs in the corners. As for the food, I expected a lot more. If you are going to charge premium prices the food needs to be top quality. We had the dill pickle chicken as an appetizer the spice was good, however the breading was over cooked and the chicken was undercooked. As for the main dish I chose the pulled pork grilled cheese. This dish came with 2 sides, I chose the macaroni and cheese and the soup of the day (tomato and bacon). The dish came as a sandwich and slaw on a plate with two ramekins on it as well. The sandwich was great tasting and was the highlight of my meal however the slaw was so rich with vinegar that it was overpowering, and anywhere the slaw touched the sandwich it left it soggy and tasting of vinegar ruining the sandwich. Although the sides looked good, the Macaroni and cheese was more flower than cheese making it heavy and pasty. As for the soup of the day it tasted burnt and was also inedible. I was brought up to eat everything that was put in front of me, however I could not stomach the sides and slaw. Disappointing food for sure.
Food was 10/10! Highly recommend the house fries. Lovely sitting on the patio on a summers day. Thank you Andrew for the good service
The salmon was excellent
Disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered the $50 steak and requested it to be cooked medium-rare. When it arrived, it was barely pink in the middle and tasted like rubber. I politely sent it back, but the server returned saying it was rare, which it clearly wasnt. The server also made a comment about my sunglasses, implying that I couldnt see properly because I was wearing them on the patio. To add to the disappointment, the $7 discount I received on a $130 bill hardly covered the taxes.
Very good food, we enjoyed it even with it being takeout. No gluten issues so the staff took care of that dietary restriction. Also, the price seems high but they give big portions. Definitely recommend
Yesterdays salads were not up to par I had a Greek with brown lettuce and my wifes romaine salad dressing was not good Excellent OUR WEDDING WENT GREAT After have our wedding at there great 2nd floor venue Everything went off without any problems Chris the manager is a super nice guy who went the extra mile to make sure we felt comfortable. A plus plus And the food is very good. Every one of our 50 guests were very happy with the food and we were as well Thank you Farm house Id had some bites of salad before image Shaved beef sandwich Chicken salad.
Farmhouse with local beer. A view of the lake and a good, fast and cheerful waiter. Good guest. More than enough good food by the way. Recommended
Much over priced with very average food. We ordered mussels which weren t cleaned properly. All of them had hair. Me being a chef I know you can t serve mussels like that to customers. Fries were tasteless and soggy. The bars across the street serves better food.
Farmhouse is my favourite restaurant in Barrie hands down. Anytime someone comes to visit i bring them there and boast about how i love it so much. They consistently deliver the best service and each of the servers is so charismatic and kind, the kitchen is always quick and the food is nothing short of fantastic. The cocktails are great, the menu has a good variety of cuisine to make it accessible to everyone that comes while being refined and sophisticated yet familiar and nostalgic. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable and the patio has one of the best views in barrie. Will recommend this place to everyone, and slowly i will bring all of my friends and family to dine.
Fantastic food reasonably priced.
Enjoyed happy hour drinks and bites! Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Front porch patio is nice and spacious but faces road and parking lot. Vegetarian options: Had mushroom option on baked potato skins.
We are having my daughters and new son in laws wedding here. Absolutely fabulous event. Great food and atmosphere and wonderful servers. Congratulations farmhouse. Food : 5/5
Delicious food and good prices. Very friendly staff!
We came from a baptism and the reservation was done in advance. Unfortunately, they sat us on the patio and it started to rain. They were not able to accommodate us inside so we had to leave. Very bad experience and not good customer service.
love going here everything we are in Barrie.
Black bean burger was dry and overcooked. Otherwise, all good. Will try it again, and choose a different vegetarian option.
We visited on the fathers day weekend. It was also the time of the airshow. The staff were lovely. The atmosphere was charming. The food was good.
We sat on the patio on a warm Wednesday. The view is not very good, and a lot of the tables are leveled with coasters. The food was just ok. The beef dip was very fatty and soggy... The bruschetta bread was also soggy.. Service was friendly but it took a very long time. Maybe it was just an off day...
We were welcomed warmly even when we came close to closing. The service and the food was really good.
The chicken and potatoes were amazing only issue was the Brussel sprouts werent cooked enough!! Tonight July 29th 2024, not impressed from the moment we were seated by this girl, she asked if we needed a childrens menu for my 17 year old daughter And the childrens menu is for 8 and under, my daughter was very upset. 2nd my chicken was bloody. Our waitress however was good and it reflected in my tip. Made reservations for my partners birthday and we were sat near the bar where we had to listen to all of the employees conversations, as that is where they all sat/stood around conversating.
It was our time here and we loved this place! The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
I want to say a big thank you to the guys who work there, very friendly and welcoming. I really liked the service, I got the feeling that the person who manages this place knows what they are doing and has a lot of experience in it. Nice little details reminded me of European style. They brought drinking water without asking, clarified what juice the child would like, and served it for free. We made an order and it was served wonderfully, no one lingered with drinks, they were ready in a couple of minutes, the main course was brought out as soon as it was ready. Hot plates, thank you for that separately! And of course, the oysters, they were just superb! The waitress asked several times if we needed anything else and it was not intrusive at all. Excellent service! Wonderful staff! Delicious food! We will definitely be coming back!
Great view and service. Good food, limited veggie options but overall a good place to enjoy time with family and loved ones
1st time there. Will definitely go back. Food was amazing, except for the Tomato Basil Soup which reminded me of the Marinara Sauce for dipping mozzarella sticks, a little overwhelming. Everything else was amazing and worth the money. Service was top notch , and the view from the patio rooftop wow!
Lovely place. Great food. The best Caesar cocktail I ve ever tried. Thank you!
Its expensive!!! ...and Ill still eat there! The deserts glorious! They are their own meal. Love it! Recommend it!
Stellar service and food. Large portions. Amazing views of Kempenfelt Bay - especially from 2 level patio.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary dinner since it had great reviews, and were shocked. Seems like one of those places that has the community club popping it up while new customers try it once and never return. Will summarize a very sad restaurant experience below: -Sat down indoors, and don t think there is AC because it was 27 outside and felt like it inside too -Waited 15 minutes flat before anyone approached us -Were not asked if we were celebrating anything even though we said it was our anniversary on the reservation (minor gripe, but something that I think is nice for restaurants to do) -Ordered two glasses of wine and bruschetta, bruschetta got to us within 5 minutes and before our drinks because it was likely just reheated. Wine came out and was fine. -Bruschetta comes with four small sticks and you do your own topping. Had half the topping left over when finished. Waitress asked us if we needed more bread almost immediately which would be an extra order . We did and paid for the extra bread that got to us after 10-15 more minutes when the topping was already cold. Seems like this might happen often, and a restaurant upcharging for bread? What country are we in? -Dinner were pork and were very bland and chewy, again felt like frozen and reheated product. -Might have a cleanliness issue or an issue with leaving product out as I was throwing up chunks of tomato from the bruschetta at 5am All-in-all kind of ridiculous. Seems like a pub trying to front as a fine dining experience and cutting a lot of corners. Other restaurants in Barrie with the same prices present completely different incredible food and experiences, will be avoiding this one in the future.
Best views and food. Breakfast and lunch. Must come back for dinner.
Traffic was a bit noisy when sitting outside, but a nice limited view of Kempenfelt Bay. The lunch salads were more than generous!
Great food, wonderful venue, and an awesome staff. Would highly recommend!
Great Breakfast with our family from out of town. Ate outside.
Great food!
6 of us were there for a birthday celebration. The waiter was amazing, very attentive, but not overbearing. Food was good, I had Salmon with mac and cheese and romaine (Caesar) salad. Salad and salmon were good. Mac and cheese was okay. We sat on the patio (main level) and it had a good atmosphere. Would return, meals are always reliably good...
Been here many times and love everything about farm house. We have celebrated family milestones here, had a quick brunch and came for appetizers and drinks. It is wonderful either way. We had a large party to celebrate my childs communion and planning was a breeze. Food options are aplenty, everything is so fresh. Theres a fun and spooky story about a resident ghost named Nellie. The farm house is one of many buildings in barrie with a whole lot of history. I highly recommend the farm house for any occasion.
Great place to stop at on the way to the cottage. The food here is good and the service is quick. I had their take on potato skins and I was pleasantly surprised.
I eat here whenever Im in Barrie!
Amazing food and drink. If you ever eat here stop by and get a bloody Mary from tara the bartender she was amazing
Great service
A friend saw The Farmhouse on TikTok and was talking about it. He had never been but he said the food looked good and it had good reviews. We planned to be driving through Barrie this weekend and so we made a reservation in advance. First off, the service is extremely friendly and a nice change. Everyone interacts with you in a really friendly way. Our server was Shannon and she was really pleasant with a very friendly smile. Over the course of our time there, the staff work as a team so we interacted with most of the servers and they all were over the top nice. We could not decide on which Benny dish for breakfast we wanted so we decided to order the pickle fried chicken benny and the french dip benny. We told Shannon that we would order both and share, and when the plates arrived, they had put one of each on each plate. Cannot decide which I would have again as they were both very interestingly different from the standard benny... Would definitely stop in again if in Barrie.
Great venue, outstanding food and even better service
If you are looking for a nice place to eat and have a nice time; This is definitely your place, 100% recommended, Delicious food and excellent service. I would just like to make one observation, it would be important to have an informative sign indicating that you have to register upon arrival. Thanks Food
The food was good and the portion were great Vegetarian options: There is a couple of vegetarian options. Food : 4/5 |
The food is delicious, the service is nice, and the atmosphere is cozy. You can check the menu on the website and book a table online. I will definitely come back to this place
delicious food!
great seating options including a view of lake simcoe. food and service are both excellent and portion sizes are worth the price tag.
Went tonight for my wifes 65 birthday. Five star meal. Six star service , Cassandra was our hostess. This young lady could teach a masters in customer care. Thanks again Alan.
At the end of our tour of Ontario we came back to Barrie and celebrated with a fantastic meal in this restaurant. We were completely impressed on our first visit and gave it 5 stars. Back then we each had a burger with rosemary potatoes and feta salad. Both are highly recommended! We also really liked it on our second visit, the salmon was perfect (!!!), as was the service. We can only give 5 stars again; we wish more were possible . What about: Could you even think about opening a branch in Münster, Germany? You would have two regular customers ...
Great food!
In a word the food was gross. Asparagus and mushroom soup was as thin as dish water with no flavour. Feta salad was ok but beef dip was disgusting and the au jus was flavourless thin gravy. Don t waste your money here!!!!
Best steak I ve ever had oh my
The prices are amazing for the amount of food you receive. Simple menu with delicious choices.
Great location, food average, wait time terrible. Over an hour wait for lunch from order to table.
Service was incredibly bad. It seems to get worse and worse. Had our waiter take our order, forgot two dishes, sent one dish that wasnt ours and said its better than what we ordered and laughed. It was beyond bizarre. Bill was not adjusted. Had oysters and waited 15mins just for some hot sauce. This place is NOT IT. SAVE YOUR MONEY
Good food with generous portions. Nice atmosphere. Parking is a bit awkward due to ongoing road works. Will go back for sure. Food
The food is always amazing and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Even on busy holidays they manage the influx of people really well. This really is a Barrie staple!
I cannot say enough great things about this place. The food was amazing, service was excellent with friendly staff, the atmosphere was great and it offered exceptional value while delivering on some of the best tasting food I have had at a restaurant. Ate dinner and immediately made a reservation for the next days brunch.
Food portions were really good, the entrees came with 2 sides! Started with the mussels which were great! The wine sauce wasn t too much but the naan bread was a bit random. I got the vegan chilli, Mac and cheese and Greek salad which were OK. Ben got the beef dip sandwich which was great & apparently what they re known for & the wedge salad, which was also yum! Would love to come try their brunch!! Parking: Not sure if it was because it s next to the GO station or if there were hotel guests but the parking was a bit chaotic
First time there, ordered our meals, main - pulled pork grilled cheese, side - mac and cheese, rosemary potatoes, broccoli. Group had same side dishes. The potatoes and broccoli were cold. Cut into the potato, took a bite, it was barely warm, actually cold. The mac and cheese was the hottest food served. Was a terrible meal, highly disappointed for going there. Will not go back. On the upside, waitress was nice, polite. Stood talking at the bar more however, then checking on her table. Did not like the atmosphere or the ambience of the place.
The food was inferior to a restaurant chain. No one at our table had a good meal, however the service was excellent.
Very cute and nice restaurant to stop by. The portions are very big as you get 2 sides with a meal, usually end up taking half home. Great service and atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well. Definitely recommend instead of going to all the basic franchise places. The only little complaint is that the mac&cheese is a bit tasteless, would love it if it has more flavour. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger available and other appetizers as well
Amazing service and atmosphere food was a good variety and size but bacon was way over cooked Susages were burnt, was looking forward to mac and cheese but lacked flavor and cheese, food placement was very good from salad to French fries
Excellent brunch Resto. Friend made a reservationn and we had great seating. A very nice touch was ice cold water freshly poured.ready at the table. Excellent service and freshly squeezed orange juice that tastes likes oranges.
Foods good, staff is great and they have a gluten free beer. Great place for a meal or a quick snack and drink. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower steak is great. It has chimichurri sauce and its like a whole head so its filling Dietary restrictions: They have vegetarian options. Maybe gluten free as far as food goes but not entirely sure but they do carry a tasty gluten free beer
I held my bridal shower here in the loft area and we did a seated lunch for 35 people and it was amazing! Shoutout to Tara for making sure everything went smoothly and always keeping us updated throughout the event. We were able to come in early and setup and had plenty of time afterwards to take down decor. Tara gave plenty of suggestions and helped us set up. The food was amazing with large portions and prices were very reasonable! I highly recommend hosting your event here :)
Dylan was awsome, food was great, we had a great time. 3pm Happy Hour
Great service. Great food. Good atmosphere but a little too loud. Kid-friendliness: Waiter was really good with our 8 year old Food : 5/5 |
We came here with our family. I ordered the beef dip. My hubby and our kids ordered hamburgers. The food was delicious and the service was great. I took my kids to the washroom and the stairs looked mouldy, outdated, and had steep steps going downstairs. The washroom was very small and pretty much run down. Before my kids came in the washroom, they complained about the smell then we noticed it was very dirty and only 1 stall worked.
Good but wont come back again. Mac and cheese side was tasteless. Beef and gravy entrée was alright but nothing to write home about. Probably wont return Nothing special. Food
They are very kind and cheerful. We had a perfect experience.
I was disappointed in the French toast. I felt like it was made with basic white bread from the grocery store. It would have been so much better with fresh bread. It came with a small 1/4 cup jar of yogurt and fruit. It seemed basic.
As you can see from my history, I rarely take the time to leave a review. I m from the U.S. and have not eaten a finer meal than tonight. From the time we got the appetizers(mussels and potato skins), our minds were blown away with quality and flavor. For entrees we ordered the only two steak options that were on the menu, but seriously the best steak(quality, temperature, and flavor) that we have ever eaten in Canada. We finished off the meal with the best Crème Brûlée we ve ever tasted!! Please take my word for it, and check out this amazing restaurant! The environment you feel is like you re eating at home or at a best friend s house. Even the volume of the music was perfect and allowed us to visit at a quiet tone. Our waiter, Dylan was extremely friendly and informative about everything on the menu. His service was perfect. I come to Canada about once a month, and this is going to become a MUST for at least one of my meals. Thank you all for a job well done! Kid-friendliness: Perfect family atmosphere!
Had a great meal! The pull pork grill cheese with the rosemary potatoes was amazing!!!
Consistently good
Went for happy hour. Great food and Drinks!
Good spot in summer to eat oysters over looking the lake. Good spot in winter for a fine dining experience. Its one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. You can tell they love to serve their customers. Vegetarian options: They have options. I personally havent eaten them but a date loved the cauliflower steak. Parking: Its located at a weird crossroad that you should look at a map to easily access. Kid-friendliness: The Mac and cheese will please the needs of the less than threes.
Good food, friendly service, reasonable drink/wine prices in a nice old building. Definitely will return. Parking: Free parking onsite or paid parking at the adjacent waterfront
Pulled pork potato skins are fabulous. And Im not a big fan of pulled pork! The beet infused salmon is amazing. Reasonably priced. Large portions. Good value. Good service.
Went for Localicious tonight and we all agreed that the food was amazing! Apps, mains and desserts were fantastic and all served in a timely and friendly manner by Dylan.
The food is exceptional, and the service is even better. I love this place! 10/10
Great atmosphere, some staff not too friendly but maybe we in a different era of customer service Food is great Food
5/5 !! Great experience, service and delicious food!!

Amazing food, great service. Great place to bring your family
very good one
Came across this place somewhat by accident..The staff was friendly and entertaining..it was the last day of localicious..Soooo Goood!
Gave fantastic recommendations, food was incredible and staff were friendly
May have had too high expectations ... and it was good, it just wasnt what I had heard. Pesto Chicken was ok but not a lot of flavour ... fries were a bit undercooked inside. Wedge salad was too much on the same plate and mostly lettuce. I will go back ... I think I just hit a rare occurrence.
Good well rounded place with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere food was pretty good.
Good service, great food. Lack of parking when its busy, we had to leave a few time in the winter.
Must experience
The food is unbelievable! Best restaurant in Ontario
Always great
Randy bo bandy for the win
We got married at the Farmhouse on 12/16/23 in the upper dining room. What a beautiful space to host our wedding! Tara and her team made it effortless and beautiful. The food was incredible and the service was impeccable. We will definitely be back for our anniversary and just because. Thank you to Tara and all the staff for making our day so memorable!
Great menu, friendly staff, Gravlax was delicious.
Went there for a brunch with friends and was quite pleased with everything. Service and staff were great, food was tasty and a nice little selection of beverages available. The hibiscus beer was interesting, almost fruity!
Food was awesome, Gravlax melted in your mouth, but I wish it was served on thin toast. But very yummy, thanks Guy.
Visted 25 Nov. Expected more for the cost Food : 3/5
Great place for large gatherings under 30 people, food was great and service was exceptional.
