Cosy spot for a delicious meal. Food was great. We have been twice in the last few weeks and the staff were attentive and full of great suggestions. We appreciated the service and the extra kindness we received on a special occasion. Maybe someday we will be brave enough for karaoke!

Had an amazing experience with my friends ! Friendly service, elevated filipino dishes & a great atmosphere! We also enjoyed their karaoke machine! My fave dish was the crispy pata -yummy ! The staff and restaurant team are very welcoming and friendly, and the food is delicious. Generous portions, great presentation, fairly priced. The space itself is very nicely decorated. Well located in downtown Barrie, it is close to the water front. Looking forward to visiting again and tasting more menu options! Kid-friendliness: Diners with children were easily accommodated, the restaurant had clean high chairs available.

Finally the 1st Filipino restaurant in Barrie has opened! The best thing about it is they have a karaoke bar! Now under new management, their menu has improved from good to great! And they have Red Horse beer!

Barrie is so lucky to have this restaurant! Came here last night with a group and we got the Boodle fight platter .They nailed every dish on the platter, everything was done to perfection; portions were huge, the flavours were well balanced. The servers were wonderful and even let my friends finish their karaoke song past their closing time. I can see this place becoming one of my favourites in the city!

This very quaint restaurant is very homey. Feels like some kinda restaurants in Palawan! Fernando and Pauline are amazing owners. They make sure we feel welcomed every time we go there. The food is amazing, the servings are just enough. My kids approved the taste and the ambiance. They are the biggest critic. lol. Bonus, we get freebies every now and then. Decided to finally give this place a try and it was disappointing... got the boodle fight for 2... first red flag: the food came out too fast I should of been able to finish a beer before the food showed up. All the fried items are store bought items. The noodles are old and felt like it came out of microwave, how I know; different temperature ranging from cold to too hot in the middle. The skewers were boring definitely not fresh off the grill. you cant fake a hot wooden skewer, you reheat it too long the meat start to dry. It was weird how we had a box of disposable gloves on our table and when the other table needed them the waitress just grabbed the one from our table. The owner / kitchen guy came out to check on nothing but noticed I was bored and tried making small talk. Telling us hes been open for 7 months and its busier/ full on weekends, does parties and catering. Realistic probably should of noticed and offered me a second beer. When I went up to pay I noticed the waitress is actually a real estate agent. that explains where the focus of this business is.

i m from burlington and it take 2 hours drive to barrie . it s Tuesday and store says it is open 11am to 9pm but the restaurant is still close at 12noon , in google says store is open, you should at least put some sign to let people know that you are close.

This was ultimately a very disappointing meal. There s so many places where it could have been better and it just feels like the restaurant doesn t care about their food. The only reason this isn t a one star review is that as a local mom and pop shop I would hate to see them go out of business. So here s my thorough review. The goods. The chicken inasal was very flavourful. Good char and good portion size. The rice went well with this dish. The sisig in itself wasn t a terrible dish and had decent flavour, but we will get there. The bads. The sisig had so many things wrong with it. First of all the egg. The dish is supposed to come with a runny egg on top. The fact the chef cooked and broke this egg and instead of recooking a new one just placed it on top. The sisig was also missing onions. Idk if their recipe doesn t have it but it definitely was very one dimension. Typical sisig had chopped red onion to break up the fatty pork. I won t assume, but I don t think they used the right kind of pork for this sisig as well. Last but not least the portion size was SO small for $22! Was very surprised how little sisig was given. The bads continue, we ordered pork spring rolls (Uber eats does not have an option for pork, only veggie, but the app says pork or veggie . I left a comment saying pork spring rolls please and guess what we got? Veggie. Either fix your entry on Ubereats or be more careful about reading the customer comments. Lastly, the buko pandan. What a letdown! 100% they used old sago. The sago was hard and was definitely the texture of day old sago. All in all, I just feel like the love for good food was left out at this restaurant, or maybe it was just a terribly off day. I ordered all this food and didn t even get utensils in the bag. Just felt like a lazy order especially with the rubbery broken egg.

This is a brand new restaurant and the first Philippine restaurant in Barrie. It is well worth the visit. The food was excellent and the service was provided by the new owners who are so happy to share their food and culture. We will definitely be back!

Went for a weeknight dinner with my husband 2 weeks ago! Tried their Chicken Inasal and Pork BBQ. Food was delicious, good portions, and price point. We were served by the owners and they were so kind and welcoming. Nice ambiance and great service. Will definitely comeback, will also share this gem with friends and co-workers!

Staff were attentive but very disorganized when it came to paying the bill. I was asked what I ordered 3x. I had no idea as my friend ordered for us, and I would have thought that they recorded this. Food was tasty, and this was my 1st experience with this cuisine. The atmosphere was good, the musician was a bit too loud for the size of the restaurant. Hope this is helpful.

Just bought our lunch just now and me and my husband had a delicious lunch. My husband said the chicken inasal is spot on and I love the beef caldereta. For the Halo-halo, I ve been craving halo-halo and you guys just made a pregnant lady happy here. Such an amazing customer service. Parking was a challenge but the guy came out to give me my order in my car with the interac . Also the lady who took my order was very nice . Amazing first time experience.

I ordered the lechón kawali , there was no pork meat only pieces with the fatty part . I have eaten the same dish at Max in Toronto and definitely not the same . Some fat is ok but when all the pieces are pure white in color , you notice the absense or the pork meat ( not fatty part )

So glad I tried this spot in Barrie! Lots of yummy, authentic Filipino dishes to choose from. Food was hot, delicious, and well-priced. Our server was kind and helpful. Cozy, fun atmosphere with a karaoke set-up in the corner. We especially loved the Pansit Guisado and the Pork Adobo. Beef Bulalo and Beef Pares were great too. The garlic rice is soo worth the upgrade! If you are dining with someone else or a group, I recommend sharing the dishes. Some meat-dominant dishes may be a bit much for one person. Plus you get to try a bit of everything :) Cant wait to come back!

We booked a private event (MILs 60th birthday) and there arent enough good things to say about La Isla Manila. The staff is beyond friendly and accommodating, and the service is absolutely outstanding. Food is delicious and such an authentic Filipino experience. The boodle fight is a great party activity and the drinks were fabulous. They were even able to accommodate a bunch of dietary restrictions of our various guests (we had vegan, GF, no seafood, no pork, and no sesame seeds). Karaoke was so much fun and had people dancing the night away with a great selection of songs, ranging from Filipino classics to Tenacious D and classic party songs like YMCA. A huge shout out to Pauline and the 5 guys who worked tirelessly to give us the best experience ever. Well be back for sure!

Service was terrible. We wanted to order boodle fight but they were all out of stock. I decided to order chicken inasal instead and waited over 15 minutes- everyone else at the table already had their food. They notified me it had just gone on the grill and then came back 10 minutes later saying they gave it to someone else by mistake. After all of this they didnt even offer us a discount. Worst service Ive had at a restaurant.

Was only passing by Barrie on the way home and we stumbled across La Isla. We were sooo happy we did. The food tasted just like the food back home. Super authentic. The lechon kawali was perfect. Staff was friendly and great. This will always be our spot to dine when were in Barrie. I wish I had a La Isla Manila in my hood!!

The ambience was great and the design internally is well thought of as you will see some old woods on the wall which I think gives personality of the restaurant. Furthermore, I think the food was a little overpriced for what you are getting. I was expecting some more on my plate or some side dishes on it as I was paying about $17. And the serving was inconsistent as I had my friend ordered the same thing as me and had more serving on his plate. Also, we both ordered extra rice but ended up waiting for about less than 10mins and it felt like waiting time would be longer if we did not followed it up. The store wasn t busy at all as we are the only customers inside. I understand that this restaurant is fairly new but you have to make the impression at the beginning. I hope there could be some improvements as I want to see this restaurant succeed.

Crispy pata is sooooo good, definitely our favorite!Sisig is also very good despite it not being sizzling hot (it is served on a sizzling plate, but not like how it is usually done in the PH, with egg cooking on top). We also got the lumpiang shanghai, chicken inasal, pancit, sago t gulaman. I absolutely loved the chili garlic! The owner was kind enough to let us take home some with our additional orders to go. The atmosphere is very nice - the karaoke was good, too! Definitely Filipino feels as soon as you enter the restaurant.
