The food here is exceptionally fresh, with house-made dishes and hand-cut fries prepared daily its easy to taste the difference compared to frozen options. The staff is incredibly personable and welcoming, creating a friendly atmosphere that stands out. On weekends, the back patio is open, but be sure to arrive early as the place quickly goes from comfortably busy to packed. Its truly one of the best spots to visit downtown, offering live music at the front bar and a great alternative vibe on the patio. Absolutely worth a visit!

The waitress that helped my friend and I last night was VERY RUDE from the beginning. She had a lot of attitude and that was the first thing we had noticed. We ordered a couple drinks and wings ($10) each.. When the bill came I asked why it was $20 for the wings she answered oh well you ordered the combo and were looking at the menu we didn t have a menu when we ordered the wings we seen the promotion on the table.. and when ordering she said what side would you like it s all included in the price the menu was only brought after I had ordered and asked for a drink menu. I do not like being tricked into a $10 up sale for a tiny salad I didn t eat . Her response to this was . Would you like me to do something about it I could do something about it- with attitude AFTER we already paid.. Why are you asking me if you should? You should have just done it.. her service was terrible. I did highly enjoy my drinks, wings and the atmosphere though get a better waitress

After seeing the incredible reviews for this place, I was looking forward to eating here. After eating here ten minutes ago, Im very disappointed. The drinking glasses were so filthy, the burgers were very dry and the portions for the price are not just. I would not recommend this place if youre looking for speedy service, cleanliness and good value for your money.

We re from North Bay and always have a hard time deciding where to stop on our way up to Toronto. This was phenomenal the burgers whether beef, turkey or chicken were mouth watering. Thanks for the awesome service and delicious food.

My go to place when Im in Barrie for the day. Was raving to my husband about it. Not today! Travelled from Vaughan and finally got to bring him for the first tine. Burger was super dry, service was slow and terrible. Total let down

I had the Kensington, Bacon Cheeseburger (KCBC), and it was absolutely Phenomenal!! Certainly not skimpy with the portions and big on flavor! I look forward to going back and trying other menu items because the first time did not disappoint. We bought shots for the table, and it was 6 shots for $40. Which in my estimation is not too bad at all. Had an awesome evening, we left just before the Band started to play because we drove from Scarborough.

We waited 40 minutes for our order after the waitress took it. Others who came in after we served first. There were 2 waitresses when there should have 4 for Fathers Day. We left with out receiving our order.

I went to The Kensington Saturday night to celebrate my Birthday I had a great time dancing all night. The band was FANTASTIC! I didnt have any food but the kitchen was closed.

I ate here last night and it was one of the best burgers Ive ever eaten. Im Celiac with several other allergies (dairy, peanuts, sesame) and it was a pleasure eating in a restaurant where they actually take allergies seriously! I had the Mushroom Melt without cheese on a bed of lettuce with a side house salad (that honey vinaigrette is fabulous!) and it was beyond delicious - juicy, flavourful, truly a wonderful meal. And it was SO filling! I was actually glad I couldnt eat the fries (shared fryer) or the any of the buns (dairy & gluten) because I wouldnt have finished it all. Thank you SO much for making me feel normal and at home. Kudos to the chef who took time out of his very busy kitchen to double-check with me about my dairy allergy. Ill definitely be back soon!!! Dietary restrictions: This restaurant is knowledgeable about Celiac disease and VERY aware of cross-contamination and take allergies very seriously. Gluten-free buns are toasted in the oven separately from everything else. Burgers are grilled separately.

Will make you pay $30 dollars for a piece of drywall served on what they call a bun. Then when you try to contact them about it they leave you on hold for 10-15 mins because the manager is serving a table. I used to work at a Burgers Priest. If anyone on your front store team is serving a single table for 15 minutes straight, theyd be fired. Yall are ridiculous.

What do you do when a group of 35 people suddenly walk in? Not sure - but the staff pulled it off. I honestly thought it would take longer but was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency. My wife and I shared an entree and they were nice enough to split things for us.

Had a great night out there with our work and atmosphere is great and staff was very friendly and bartender was very good, even no I don t drink alcohol he always made sure my pop was full without even having to ask. Excellent job, sorry I didn t get his name to get him some recognition.

Scam artists at bar. They give you half a shot everytime and later the night goes they give you sips for $6+ a cup or shot

Had the portobello mushroom burger, was so good! Lots of options to choose, buns, meat or veggie with gluten free options available. Was very fresh and delicious, the fries were well down and crispy, perfect. Pricey but you get what you pay for and this was great!

Busy for a Wednesday night. Service was great. Selection of local beer delicacies was good. We had the Texas Springrolls, and 2 burgers, the Californian and Hawaii Five-O. We had them cut them in half and we each had half. They were very good. Prices are a little high, but isnt everywhere now? Would definitely go back

Train your staff on avoiding (if at very least overt) agism, and its detrimental effects on business longevity.

Kenzington has been my go to burger spot when traveling through Barrie. Their burgers are better than anything Ive tried in the GTA. Service is fast and friendly. Picked up the Patriot burger of the month and really liked the kettle chips! Update Feb 2024: the menu is updated but still an amazing spot. The spinach dip is a must order! Dietary restrictions: Vegan burger options are available and staff are more than happy to swap toppings on their signature burgers.

A burger place on a diet? Yes. You can eat healthy here and have tasty options without a lot of bread! I tend to watch the amount of grains I consume so I asked for the Kenzington Burger without the bun. And, instead of fries, a side salad was an option. It was loaded with red cabbage and cucumber. The salad substitution and extra dressing were provided at no extra charge. (More and more of a rarity.) The burger was actually two hand-pressed patties, set on red onion and lettuce. While my photo doesn t show the patties, they were thin, but large, nicely grilled and full of flavour. One of my dining companions ordered the Cobb Salad, which was generously portioned, beautifully plated, and something I will definitely order next time. We dined here for lunch, and we had a full table of 14 ladies. Our server was attentive and friendly. And, if you want a spot for a larger group, being seated in the back room allowed us sufficient room to spread out, and actually hear the conversation at the table. For those of us born and raised in Barrie, who remember these properties on Dunlop Street in all their iterations through the years, I felt the history of the building in the original wood staircase, painted tin ceiling, and exposed brick. I will definitely be back.

There were two servers in the restaurant and Our server was very kind and accommodating , but no quality check was done for an hour, so we went to the bar and the other server with blonde hair and specs was very rude and looked as if she was very annoyed with us complaining about the flat beer and the cold wings. Still we paid for everything and tipped the server, but still not fully satisfied with the service:(((((. we won t be going back.

Great location, downtown in the bar hopping section. Every time we have been, there is a live band. Considering how busy the place gets, the service is decent. Even if you stand at the bar. The big bouncer guy will just push you out of the way. Its actually funny to watch him. Some young fella gets shoved and turns around like he is going take on the world, sees the guy, and quickly reverts to his previous posture, lol. Vegetarian options: Salad Parking: Parking is not the greatest on a busy night. You can typically find a parking spot in the lot across the street and behind the buildings. Its about a 5 minute walk. Sometimes, you can get lucky and find a spot on the street. Keep in mind that street parking in the winter can be a problem , and sometimes scraps break out, and your vehicle could become the ring. Wheelchair accessibility: You can roll from the sidewalk and right in. The only issue is that the washroom is upstairs. Perhaps call ahead and see if they can accommodate anyone in a wheelchair.

We ve never been disappointed with Kensingtons, the staff have always been excellent, attentive and overall very good. Excellent portions, the burgers are huge and have always been perfect. Guinness on tap is a huge plus for me as well.

Reserved for a party of 10, got private area for birthday celebration and our server, Ashley, was amazing! Only 2 front of house staff working that night. It was a 90 minute wait between ordering and our meals arriving. The spinach, artichoke dip was ok, if over-priced. However most menu items were definitely on the higher end of medium price range for the portion sizes. For a Burger Bar, it leaves A LOT to be desired. If I wanted hockey pucks, I would eat at McDonalds. Dry as a brick, flavourless, cut the roof of my mouth. I only took 1 bite. The Fries were a joke. I had better fries at Costco earlier in the day. Most of our party were in the same boat. One didnt even touch their chicken burger and left it behind. The other chicken burger was completely incorrect and again left behindawith only one bite. Only 1 in the party of 10 actually ate their entire dinner. Beer selection was adequate, if a little uninspiring. Ashley does make an excellent Ceaser though. We were given partial comps and gift certificates for our experience, again thanks to Ashley. I cannot stress how amazing she is. As my partner and I do not live in the area, gift certificates are not particularly useful as compensation. Kitchen needs an overhaul if they cannot delivery adequate food on a relatively dead Monday evening. Dietary restrictions: Server very concerned and articulate regarding dietary restrictions. The kitchen appeared to be less concerned as a meal had to be sent back due to restrictions.

The hamburgers were great, juicy and flavourful. The service was quick and effective. The plates, however, were really small for the portions given, and it made eating a little uncomfortable. But overall a great place in the heart of Barrie.

The Crunchy Thai burger is the best burger I ve had in 2023!!!! All the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, juicy, packed full of flavour and tasted amazing!!! You could taste all the flavours in the burger in EVERY bite which is exactly what you want in a burger. I highly recommend you come here and try it out! Fries were great and the WINGS were huge, fresh, and juicy. A great spot for tasty food!!

I have eaten Cobb salads for years all over the world but tonight I received my very first Cobb salad that contained no chicken nor any bacon! It was a rather crowded noisy party I was attending so I didn t notice until too late that the chicken has to be added to the order! How inconvenient! Weird way to do a Cobb salad!

Went lastnight with my friend and we had the best food. My burger was amazing. So filling and tastey. The cook/chef did a great job. The server was able to recommend a top pick as there are a few good options. Definitely a good recommendation. Will definitely come back.

Friday date night. Sat on the patio. Our server was very friendly. We were seated near a table with 5 adults and 3 children. We have 4 children so we have nothing against kids, what we do have an issue is parents who think a restaurant is the place to let them run around. A server told them to not run around in the empty store front but as soon as she left they allowed it to happen again. Not the restaurants fault. We had chicken fingers and fries and a wrap and fries. I found the chicken portion small compared to comparable restaurants. Also found the fries a bit lacking. Chicken got cold very quickly.

Staff was great however the food was not very good at all. And the coffee is horrible.

THEY DOUBLE CHARGED ME. Waitress came over to the table claiming the transaction timed out and charged me again. Then I go to look at my card transactions and see both of them went through. Not to mention the bad attitude we received during this transaction.

Kensington Burger Bar was an excellent visit for my group. The prices were fair, the portions fair, and the service was excellent. There was live music later that night, and we enjoyed our stay. Only thing to note was that one of us ordered a chicken burger and received beef, however I had a complicated build my own order which the waitress didnt even need to note down but it came out perfect. Would recommend this restaurant!

My friend and me visited on last Friday. We were hungry and ordered a breakfast poutine with hot sauce on side and wings. The poutine had a good quantity for $15 and the wings were soft, juicy and was in good texture and loved it, but $19 seems little high for that. I loved the hot sauce there.

Kenzington Burger Bar has a great vibe, full of social potential, and perfect for late night eats and drinks. The Nachos are a great shareable option, extremely filling. Overall the portion sizes are large , so be prepared to take something home. Either way you ll have a great time here.

If youre going to hire vendors to provide entertainment at your establishment, YOU NEED TO PAY THEM AND NOT AVOID THEM FOR 6 MONTHS. It is absolutely disgusting to scam small businesses who are trying to build their brand and then GHOST them out of payment. IF you cannot afford them, DONT HIRE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE.

They contracted out a small business specializing in providing weekly trivia nights, then refused to pay them for services rendered (and ignored calls). Please don t support franchises like Kenzington Burger Bar that step on smaller businesses. @Kenzington Burger Bar owners: PAY UP!!

Went with a friend for lunch and had the classic kb burger with fries. It was a good juicy burger and had decent flavor. Might have been a little pricey for what you get but hey it was better than a typical fast food burger. Parking: Prices along here are much more reasonable than along the waterfront although they limit your time. Barrie really needs to revist some of these ridiculous parking rules.

Do not support a local business if theyre going to continuously SCAM their contracted vendors out of their money. They hired a trivia team and decided to stop answering their phones calls and emails because THEY HAVENT PAID THEM IN 6 MONTHS and are STILL avoiding them. Save your money and support ETHICAL business owners who dont scam OTHER STRUGGLING SMALL BUSINESSES.

This place is not for normal people who are 30+, its too loud, too crowded, full of drunk/high (who approach and ask for weird things.. like to guard their jacket but they have a chair where they can put it) kids who loiter and the food is ok. Staff is lovely though. Not coming back.
