Chains don t come close. This is authentic Italian pizza. Fresh ingredients, thick cheese, and tangy tomato sauce. Friendly staff and courteous service. Simply amazing.

Absolutely Delicious!! The salad was beautifully arranged and fresh . We ate Penne Rose and Spaghetti and meatballs and it was just so tasty I had to leave a review . Super impressed!!

50 years ago I made, delivered and served amazing homemade style pizza, I Tie food ever since. I ate a pizza everyday, and I would eat their food every single day. Most of Barrie s pizza is horrible with owners that are salesperson s not chefs.

Decent pizza. Some weird spice (in one of the toppings, or the sauce, of the meat lover s deluxe) that we couldn t identify. Not sure if I would reorder at $41 (incl tax & delivery) for an 18 .

You gotta try the XL pizza with extra cheese and pepperoni. I really like the assorted sub; Ive had it over a dozen times. Non-greasy and healthy! Not anything like other pizza places.

Negative review was hastily posted about Pizzeria Italia by me. Mistake as fault of poor delivery was completely Skip the Dishes. I will definitely use them again. Great response and customer service.

FANTASTIC! So happy we ordered here! Due to covid we have been more conscious of where we are ordering take-out, after reading great reviews we tried this pizzeria out... WOW AMAZING. A short drive or walk for us to some excellent pizza - we will definitely return. Friendly service and yummy pizza.

Made a delivery order for a veal sandwich and small cheese pizza last night half an hour before they closed. On the plus side the tomato sauce is very nice and the size of the small pizza is great, 6 fat slices. Negatives would be the veal, 2 dry crusty little pieces on the sub bun, and the pizza crust had no flavour.

I was so happy to see that this place was still open. It was my boyfriends birthday yesterday and his only request for dinner was lasagna from here and there bread. I called and ordered that for him along with chicken ceaser salad and a pizza. The food was made amazing as always and was ready at the time I was told to come pick it up. My boyfriend and I both have been to this place when we were kids and we make sure our kids get to enjoy it like we did. We always make time to visit now with covid order from here. This really is the best Italian restaurant around .

I think this small restaurant has been around since I can remember.The pizza crust is amazing! Soft and light and very reasonably priced. I also enjoy the complimentary bread basket, pasta and salads. We have never been disappointed. I highly recommended this place. Must try.

We stepped and picked up our first pizza in a long time and it was awesome! We dont eat deluxe pizzas from anywhere else because they dont compare, try one you wont regret it.

Best Pizza in Barrie

I read all of these reviews and was pretty excited because its impossible to find a good pizza in Barrie, and this one went in the compost bin after 2 bites. I asked for well done, the cheese came hardly melted, the crust is the same as every other 5 minute pizza place, and the sauce is oddly sweet and leaves a terrible aftertaste. Maybe the sauce thing is a matter of taste, but at least cook the pizza. $35 literally in the garbage. Ive never thrown a pizza out before in my 40 years on earth. Gf and I will be eating wendys tonight I guess.

My friend and I came in for a late lunch over the Christmas Break. The lunch crowd was gone, so we had the place to ourselves. The decor is a little tired and cafeteria like furnishings do not help. The food on the other hand makes up for everything. The bread is thick sliced and made in house daily, The lasagna was plied high, the manicotti/canneloni combo was the best of cheese and meat stuffed pasta. The portions are generous so bring your appetite.

Had a great experience for a double birthday dinner with five people. We had a variety of food and all was delicious. Service was also fantastic.

After mentioning we wanted to go to this place for a long time our first visit will be our last. The service was incredibly slow. We constantly had to ask for things like water, plates, and cheese for pasta. The basic tomato sauce was so spicy we could barely eat it. Overall a bad experience.

We were so excited to finally go there. But the service was too slow. Over 2 hours to start getting served. Other than our drinks. Our food was over cooked. I think the staff didnt know how to handle a large amount of people. I would of just started serving one table at a time. Not try to do it all at once. So Im guessing they cooked our food than reheated it and thats why most of our dishes were over cooked. Had to keep asking for water, bread, etc. Sorry but wasnt impressed. I so was looking forward to it. Disappointing. But the food was a good quality and tasting too, just over cooked that day. Staff was very pleasant. As I said I think just because it was so busy. Id try it again on a less busy day and time.

Was always curious about the place, by the size I thought it was only take out aha. Went with a family function and quite surprised at how great the food was and how quiet and quaint the inside is. Unfortunately for them Ive never seen it busy in there, but it works out to be a nice quiet and romantic date night to share a pizza and chat. If youre looking for delicious Italian food with a romantic setting youve found the place! Pricing isnt half bad either :)

I went to this restaurant on Saturday, Apr 20th, with my daughter and my niece for supper before heading back home to Sudbury. Great service and the food was to die for. Homemade pasta; homemade bread. Great portions. We all had enough left over to bring home for our lunch the next day. Will definitely go back to eat there the next time we travel to Barrie.

A family favorite for over 40 years

Had their Barrielicious menu which was meatballs for an appetizer, veal parmesan sandwich and a Tiramisu for dessert. The food had the right amount of flavor and spice. I felt I just had dinner at a friends house whos grandmother was visiting from Italy. Id go back again for sure.

Food was just ok. Pretty salty and not large portions. The restaurant is super out dated, and dirty. The toilet in the ladies room was not even bolted to the floor. I nearly fell off the toilet! Exposed pipes, dirt, and cobwebs rounded out this terrible experience. Go to East Side Marios, at least there you will get bread and salad with your meal.

I love this place! Truth be told, it does need some updating as its located in one of the older building in downtown Barrie. But the food is delicious and we always enjoy our evening when we visit. This is the prefect place to enjoy a quiet evening, have dinner and a nice bottle of wine. Staff are polite and service is timely. Portions are generous and the homemade bread to start the meal is my favourite part. I have eaten here a number of times over the years, and I have never been disappointed.

Ordered Take out dinner; Veal Parma, Gnocchi and house salad. First Impression of the place, it it extremely dated decor, staff friendly. The food was just awful. the veal was more than well over cooked and unbearably salty ( not edible) The Gnocci was over cooked and very starchy with a very odd and outrageously, sweet tasting Alfredo sauce. Awful! By the time I reached my home, less than 10 minutes away, the Gnocchi was like a solid brick in the container. Gross! The salad was fresh, but unfortunately the dressing was caesar, which doesnt work on a green salad piled with far to many olives ( which I hate) The portions were generous, but quite frankly, I would rather pay for smaller portions and good, quality food. I have a suspicion that they have kids ( early twenties) cooking the food as a mature cook, would never serve such poor quality of food to its patrons. I now understand why the place was empty. I should have taken the time to read the poor reviews online. I will not return. The food was just awful.

I dont know what has happened to this place used to be really good food but it sure went downhill. havent ordered out or a while and about a month ago decided to order spaghetti and meat balls and fettuccine alfredo. with chicken. Order got there and fettuccine was dry, cold and stuck together in one big clump. Phoned and complained, they were apologetic sent out another order ( wife starved ). got there in half an hour and was all right. Last Friday gave them the benefit of doubt and ordered fettuccine alfredo with chicken and lasagna. Order came with no bread, fettuccine sauce was thin as water, six little pieces of chicken and a chicken bone, lasagna noodles were hard and cold, both were uneatable and had to throw out. Phoned and complained was told it would be an hour or better to redo order or would give me a credit for next purchase. I BBQd hamburgers that knight and will never order or go there again. Cant give half a star so had to give one

My family has been coming here for over 20 years. Its a great family run italian place. Honestly in all the years of coming here I have ordered only 1 item; the fried panzerotti. They make the best possible ones youve ever had, massive size and great flavour. The interior decor could use a little update. The beer prices are fair and the service is okay. Seriously just go and get a panzerotti, who Cates about the rest

I would envision this restaurant a suitable candidate for the TV show Kitchen Nightmares. Went for lunch on a weekday afternoon and I was the only customer. It took them a while to notice I was even waiting to be seated. The server was wonderful however pizza sub par, with water/oil accumulated on the serving dish.

Awesome food

Great pizza because theyre generous with the toppings and the dough tastes fresh and soft (but not soggy!). I usually order 3 pizzas so my wait time is typically 40-45 minutes, which I believe to be reasonable. Oh, and if you want to give your pizza a great flavor boost, make sure to add garlic as a topping.

Had excellent service. Waitress was amazing. Quick to take orders and food was served quickly and hot. Best authentic Italian food. The lasagna was amazing! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! People really need to go to Pizzeria Italia Restaurant!

This was my first time at this restaurant. My bf had been here in the past so we thought we would give it a try. The decor could definitely use an update and it could have been a little cleaner. There was only one other customer and we were there at dinner time. Pizza take out seems to be their main business as the phone was quite busy with pizza orders. I ordered pasta with caesar salad and my bf ordered pizza. Our server was very friendly and served us well. Bread was amazing. My caesar salad was ok. Nothing to write home about. Our order came pretty quickly. My pasta was a good sized portion and the pizza looked really good. I was disappointed with my pasta. Again it was ok. I can definitely make a better pasta at home and Im not Italian. My bf enjoyed his pizza. My biggest complaint about this restaurant was the fact that we could hear the entire conversations going on in the kitchen as they had the door open the whole time. Everytime our server went into the kitchen she joined in as well. Luckily I didnt have my children with us as there was some pretty interesting language coming out of the kitchen staff mouths. Between the loud conversations coming from the kitchen and the phone ringing I felt more like I was in a fast food restaurant then a sit down family restaurant. I would probably order pizza from there but would definitely do take out.

Terrible service, slow and the food is OK as long as it is pizza.

Pizza was wet, burned. One of the worse we have all ate in our lives (party of 7!) Pasta tasted worser than what I used to cook at college (included alfredo which only tasted milk or meatsauce which tasted a very watery tomato sauce!) Neither veal or chicken parm were good either. Both very cold and wet like is they were pre-cooked for hours already! Bruschetta were served on a overcooked toast with no cheese and not basil. Sadly the best thing we had to eat tonight all foof together were thoses beuchetta. From the only 3 choices of wine they had, on 1 was available and who can really call this an italian restaurant with no basil vinegar

Hit or miss. They have the best pizza...when done right. Last time we ordered, it was amazing - lots of toppings, cooked well. This time it was average - hardly any tomato sauce, skimpy on toppings and only 2 out of the 3 toppings I chose were correct. Wish they were consistent.

I love the food (panzoroti!), but this is not a place for atmosphere.

Good food quiet atmosphere

Decided to have a family night out for pizza and decided to go to Italian Pizzeria. Wasnt at all impressed. Waited over half an hour for a lge deluxe supreme and about 40 minutes for a small meaty. When inquired about whether a person should wait half an hour for an order was informed that it was pizza night and that they were short staffed and the more would be in soon. Unfortunately pizza was not the best. Have better. Server tried her best and apologized and received a free pizza but was not impressed that manager never showed their face and people ordering where receiving their food faster then us. Service was good but that was about it. Will not be returning anytime soon. Very disappointed when you are looking for a nice evening out and it turns out to be a bust.

Very Disappointed Yesterday @ Pizzeria Italia Restaurant I have to admit that I have been there many a time for lunch and I even had some business luncheon there, when my client wanted good fresh homemade pasta or just a good italian food. However, I had taken my wife there for super yesterday. The service was awful, kitchen staff was coming out to sit with friends table with a dirty raj over their shoulder and definitely not clean shaven. Waitress were to busy talking on cell phone than serving customers in between calls, cleaning table in and out of kitchen and cutting bread without even washing their hands. NOT SURE if I will ever return for super.

I had lasagna and my wife had cannelloni, with 2 meatballs on the side and not going back, if you like overcooked pasta with chefboyrdie or Heinz canned precooked sauce by all means you would love it, the meatballs discusting. Sorry Pizzeria Italia, I havent tried your pizza, but your pasta plates suck the bag.

Such a warm welcoming atmosphere. They treated me like family as soon as I walked in the door. Ive heard its been open for approximately 50 years and the tradition is still alive with this place. Everything Ive tried on the menu so far has been superb. Just like Nona used to make. I highly recommend it!

Dingy atmosphere. Overpriced food for what is delivered. I ordered veal parmigiana. This dish is served with a side of spaghetti. The cook did not drain the spaghetti well so my veal was swimming in water when it was delivered. The veal was pounded very thin and overcooked by a very large margin. The chefs salad was giant hunks of iceberg lettuce topped with a few radishes, large slices of carrots, and red cabbage. Just terrible. They did however comp my wifes root beer lol. I wont comment on my wifes meal but sufficed to say it wasnt much better. This used to be my wifes favourite restaurant for Alfredo. We will not be returning.
