This is the best Italian Restaurant I have ever been to. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. A place that really puts care in their restaurant. And they have one of the best panazorottis I have ever had in a long time.

Stopped in for a coffee and dessert and it was delicious!

Stopped in at the Italian eatery today to grab a lasagna for dinner. I would have thought that Italians would know how to make a somewhat ok lasagna at the very least. This lasagna was the meat and ricotta. To start the label said it was 45:00 in the oven at 400 I waited u till 6 to start dinner so it would be ready for 7:00 the lasagna actually took 1:45 minutes to reach an internal temperature of 165. With my family going nuts because they were starving we were excited to try this lasagna once it was finally cooked. To our surprise this was hands down the worst plate of any food I have ever served to my family. It was basically a ball of cheese with no tomato sauce, hardly any noodles, the meat had no flavour. Honestly it was disgusting, I d recommend staying far away from this place when it comes to lasagna. What a joke

This restaurant is a real favourite! We dont live in the area, but when we are passing through for any reason we make it a point to stop in for lunch or dinner, or to take out. Nice patio in summer time. Very authentic Italian grocery shopping area, deli, baked goods, highly recommend. Lisa

As someone whos married to an Italian, we love coming here. The veal sandwiches are awesome, the pasta has fantastic (that rosé sauce!!!) and the service has always been friendly. Would definitely recommend.

I ve been ordering from this restaurant twice a week through the Uber app, and my kids absolutely love their pasta and garlic knots. The food is always delicious and satisfying. However, I ve had an ongoing issue with my orders. The pasta usually comes with complimentary garlic knots, but lately, they ve forgotten to include them. I called the restaurant, and they were very apologetic, but the problem kept happening. To avoid the hassle, I started paying for extra garlic knots. Now, I get the ones I pay for, but they still skip the complimentary ones. It s frustrating because the service is inconsistent. Sometimes I get the garlic knots, and other times I don t, despite being told they should always come with the pasta. After experiencing this issue three times, I decided to rate the restaurant 3 stars due to the inconsistency in service. The food is great, but I wish they d get the orders right more consistently

This place has incredible food, but staff can sometimes be a bit rude, and it is pricey, but if you want a quick, and delicious Italian meal, it s a great spot to go! I definitely recommend this place, I just wish the staff were a bit friendlier.

Ive been at this restaurant a couple of times. The food is delicious but prices are high. My last visit I had a veal sandwich that was 9 out of 10 because the bread was too soggy. If the bread wasnt soggy Id give it 10 out of 10. The only complaint is the price was extremely expensive for a sandwich. With this economy it will be hard to revisit.

I had a less than favourable experience a few evenings ago. When concerns were left, the owner/operator contacted me directly and expressed his apologies emphatically. He advised this was completely out of the ordinary and he would personally prepare a future meal for us. This is old school, something you don t often see anymore. I have great respect for this and will take him up on his offer.

I ve eaten here twice now and both times the food has been great. The salad and veggies are very good. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The veal sandwich is a generous portion.

Editing from recent order today, the portion sizes are definitely smaller, we keep old take out containers the reuse and the large was significantly smaller than the last time! And the garlic knots were very salty and slight undercooked. We had a bit of a mix up with a pick up order and they were so amazing about correcting it. Love the garlic knots and pasta with tomato and basil sauce.

I have not had such amazing experience in so long. The food was mind blowingly good and fresh. We ordered three different dishes and all were amazing. The pastries are pretty good as well. The only thing I can say is I hope you open a location in Toronto; youll have our support. Thank youuu

Had 2 sandwiches and 2 cannoli s. The sandwiches were amazing and the cannoli was the best ive ever had. Only negative was the price. It cost me 45 dollars for my meal. Very pricey lunch but fresh ingredients and great taste.

Pistachio Cannoli was yummy, pistachio tiramisu was frozen.. when I mentioned that I just got a sorry with no trade it :(.

The lady at the register was very passive-aggressive, and I suspect it might be personal, possibly even a bit racist, because we are not from here, idk. However, the food is delicious one of the best pizzas weve had, and the pasta was delicious, but aside from the lady at the register (and elderly woman with blonde hair), the service was very nice and friendly.

A surprisingly good spot to eat Italian food really big and flavorful pasta portions, I enjoyed the pizzas as well, it became my favorite spot, will definitely come back from time to time

Finally found the BEST Italian restaurant in Barrie! We will definitely come back

Came here for a late lunch with my wife and kids today. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals as the food was very good. One thing I wasn t a big fan of was the service from the ladies taking our orders. I felt there was some sort of snobby attitude for some reason. We didn t complain about any of the food etc but were treated as if we had come in at the end of the day or were complaining and trying to get a free meal. Nonetheless we won t be returning which I m sure doesn t mean anything to them, but if you re a potential customer and you re reading my review I hope you are greeted and served better than we were. It really sucks because I can tell by looking at the chefs and kitchen staff that they re the real MVP s of this operation and serve fantastic food here !!

Nice cafeteria/ bakery Place for some good basic italian food. Youre going to get basic simple food. Not any fancy truffle infused pasta but excellent tomato, basil , or creme sauces on a nice in house pasta. I am not sure if they make all the pasta there but some of it they do.

The best eggplant parmesan sandwich Ive ever had. The hubby had a chicken parm sandwich. No photos, we were too hungry. I highly recommend it!

Margarita pizza was fabulous , meatballs out of this world, arugula salad Devine .. Lemon cello dessert just beyond . I highly recommend and can t wait to go back

It was a busy night and the process for take-out was unclear so I ended wasting a good chunk of time moving from line to line before even placing my order. I then waited over an hour for my food, arriving shortly after 6:30 and not leaving until after 8 (they were still open past closing time, finishing orders). The owner was very apologetic for the wait, explaining they short-staffed and also in the midst of training, and checked in a few times during the wait so I felt like I received good service despite the wait. Unfortunately, I took my long overdue meal back to my hotel only to discover that I had been given one incorrect item and that the other item had so much raw garlic that it was almost inedible. Giving 2 stars because I dont like giving 1 star reviews based on a singular experience (I still have hope it was an off night!).

The Italian Eatery goes above and beyond. We would like to thank them for making our small graduation celebration very special. The food and customer service is excellent. The food is so fresh and flavourful. Whether your in mood for pasta, pizza or a pastry you can not go wrong by stopping in here.

We had food catered from here for my bridal shower and it was beyond fantastic. Everything was fresh and the portions were great!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. Our food was a little delayed today but their service team especially Onaiza took really good care of us and went above and beyond to make up for that delay . I don t normally give reviews but I wanted to give Onaiza credit ! The food is always great so we are definitely coming back.

Called about a fundraiser for the youth in Barrie, an angry employee took the phone and told me to call a corporate store, there are no other the Italian eatery stores. I m really angry about the call which I made.

Recently found this gem. Had a really good hot veal on a bun. Also the veggie on a bun (vegetarian option) was very tasty. Espresso was good. Lots of choices too so we have already planned another visit soon. Reasonable prices. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian choices

The food was delicious. Wouldn t recommend sitting down. Everyone working (except the busy bus boy) seemed like they didn t want to be there and wished we weren t either.. No smiles. It s not table service but also cant serve yourself so have to bother the staff if you need anything .. like cutlery.

Set up with hot table style food and ordering with a section to sit down. Was confusing to order at the counter and with the small menu really don t know why it s not just a hot table with a sit down area. Took 40 minutes despite the fact there were 2 other tables of 2. For a chicken sandwich that was cold but large and cannelloni Alfredo that I guess may have been their version of soup? Honestly the worst Alfredo I ve ever tried, I m sure something out of a jar at Walmart would have been fantastic in comparison. Not to mention the portion was tiny. All for the low cost of $50 for a nasty sandwich and the worst pasta I ve ever had. Thanks Italian Eatery.

Literally took 50 minutes to get TWO sandwiches. Absolutely ridiculous. At 30 minutes I asked about the order. Annoyed, they told me they would say my name. Ten minutes later the manager let me know that it actually never went through to the kitchen! Surprise! Ten minutes after that we got our order. So 50 minutes for two sandwiches and weren t offered anything as a comp. Awful.

never again, sub-par/overpriced food, rude staff, wait times are ridiculous, set up of this place is ridiculous. My wife and I have dined in this place once before, food took forever for 2 sandwiches. Thought we would give it a try again, big mistake, same exeprience. Not sure if the older lady is the owner she usually runs the cash, you need to be replaced with someone with a personality, you have zero people skills.

I came here on Sunday May 5th to shop for some prepared Italian food. When I was looking in the freezers on the left side of the store I noticed that several of the containers from the higher shelfs were dripping onto the lower ones. I opened the freezer door and it was not even cold. I felt a few of the packages (meatballs and frozen veggie bags) which were completely soft and unthawed. I went over to the counter and let the lady know I thought the freezer was broken and the lady seemed concerned and came to check. When she realized it was all thawed she went to the back and got the manager. A rude middle aged guy came out looked at the freezer and said it was fine and that it was just defrosting and not to worry. He was very dismissive about the issue and played it off like it was normal. I would never buy prepared food from this place based on this experience. Yuck.

Just wow! Italian and then some. The food and bakery options are probably the icing but the amount of jars and preserves they have are awesome also. Wild mushrooms, olives and peppers just like Nono makes. This is a must stop for any occasion. Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Food gifts galore. Mamma Mia! Got a panzerroti and it was terrible to eat. Way too massive, way too much cheese, leaked out of the box, and falls apart when you try to hold it. Very unpleasant experience their pastas are always great though! Never getting their panzerottis again.

Absolutely disgusted by the behaviour while picking up some food. Watched the owner (or floor manager) verbally abuse a staff member. I left enraged without buying anything. Would not recommend supporting an establishment that allows this treatment. Is there less than 1 star?

Im really looking forward to going back. I had a fantastic panzo. Fresh, delicious, great customer service. The people next to me had sandwiches which I want to try. Everyone working was smiling and happy. Customers were pleasant.

We went with our 3 kids (who are normally well behaved but were bouncing off the walls) at the end of the evening when my patience was personally shot. The staff was so accommodating and helpful- it genuinely turned my evening around. Food was excellent to top it off- thank you for genuinely everything! We will absolutely be returning! Kid-friendliness: Staff is extremely helpful and patient with kids! They treat them as guests and not a to be seen and not heard person.

Really good Italian food. The pizza is great - Make your own pasta. This is my favourite Italian food in the Barrie area. It is expensive, $35 for make your own pasta even on take out. A dinner for 2 is getting you close to $80. But definitely quality food and good portions. Ive had really bad experiences when trying to order for pickup quite frequently. Ive even been told I cant order 30 minutes before closing. They have a dine in area but its not nice, I couldn t imagine dining in there, I always take out.

I had a piece of pizza and focaccia sandwich with prosciutto and arugula on it. This was the best sandwich I ve ever had. I m pissed off that now all other sandwiches I eat from anywhere else will be wasted time, as all I can think about is the sandwich I had from the Italian eatery. I m not kidding. Also the sandwich was around one foot squared, and even though it was HUGE, I could have eaten two of them. The pizza was delicious too!

I loooooooove this place. The staff is sooo friendly. I call in my order and there is no fuss no muss when I pick it up. Beats fast food hands down and price is pretty good for the serving size. A large penne al a vodka is three meals in my house. Oh and the garlic knots! Awesome! I highly recommend.

the food is good, affordable but the service of one main employee ruined my experience. the younger workers are nice but the older blonde lady who was at the hot counter was extremely rude. mutuals of mine say they refuse to go here because of that woman. for the stores sack they may want to consider removing her from their staff.

Food is good but service is the worst. Yesterday was the second time I went there near their closing time of 7:00pm and they did not let me inside. I was there 9 minutes before 7pm (cellphone time which is the right time) and someone who was inside the store told me they were closed. I literally drove from home only to buy some bread and frozen lasagna because I think their food is very good but Ive they are not going to commit to their times then I cant trust them. The other incident was around 2 months ago and also 8 to 10 minutes before closing time. On that opportunity people were inside too but ignored me completely. I understand we cant expect someone to cook for us 10 minutes before closing but they also have other things we can purchase and cook at home. If they want to close at 6:50pm fine but don t tell people they close at 7pm because that is a lie. I think i am done with them , sadly I have to say I am not going there again. I think they feel comfortable because not too many places in barrie offer that kind of products but one day someone who has better service (not hard to achieve all things considered) will open another italian eatery and this one will be in trouble.

Bought what was supposed to be ravioli chicken from this store but it turned out to be filled with some mystery fish filling. Not cool. Also, we ordered hot food to go (pizza and some pasta dishes) and the service was extremely slow. They never called our name and I had to ask where my order was.

Was out for lunch not too long ago and while the food was good and serves is also good as I was enjoying my meal I over heard one of the owners yelling at his staff more the younger ones that work in the front.Overall had a good time but that one little incident really bugged me .

Tonight was my first experience eating at the Italian Eatery and all i have to say is OMG AMAZING. We ordered the family meal deal for 2 and have enough leftovers for tomorrow. it was delicious and we will be ordering again soon !

March 2023: 4/5 - The food was good, not great but still quite nice, one of the better Italian places in the area...garlic bread they served with the meal was cold, and the food itself was rather lukewarm (4/5) which was the biggest complaint, the seasoning and cook of the food was spot on though (5/5), nice decor on the inside, and decent prices, just not sure why the food was not hot as there were not many people eating at the time we went...the menus are a bit difficult to read, and they have a VERY limited selection of beverages...pastas and mains though are outstanding minus the lack of warmth of the food overall... Parking: Lots of parking spots within a few minute walk of the shop...

Best tiramisu and cannolis Ive ever had! They fill the cannolis once you order them, cant get much fresher than that! The grocery section is well-stocked with various pastas, frozen meals, sweets, wines, and much more. Definitely will be back. Food

Run, dont walk, to get a tray of their frozen meatballs. The food here makes me feel very nostalgic for the food i grew up with.

The staff made my sons birthday lunch very special! The sandwiches were a huge hit and of excellent quality. The added birthday touch was special and much appreciated

If your traveling from anywhere this place is great, found the best Panzos and pasta. Made this place my Italian place in Barrie.. just wish they could be open till 9pm like most restaurants. 10/10 Vegetarian options: Didnt have it but they had so many options Dietary restrictions: Whole grain is options and the waitress can made suggestions! Parking: Tons of parking, not a consern Kid-friendliness: There were kids there, plaza also had the rec room and minutes from sadlon arena Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, your good!

The staffs attention is very good and a wide variety of products, the desserts are the best, the cannoli my favorite. Parking: It is general for everyone who visits the shopping plaza, it is the food area, close to all the Winners and Cinnamon stores.

Best Marinara sauce! Super casual atmosphere and very delicious, authentic Italian food experience. Very reasonably priced foods. Order from the counter, and sit down. Food will be brought out to you. Consider leaving a tip as the food will be served and you are cleaned up after. We enjoyed the Calamari, pizza and stromboli. There is a nice selection of Italian baked goods including cannoli and zeppole among other treats. We will definitely try the gelato bar in the future. The eatery has a market attached with a wide selection of frozen ready made foods, and other specialty Italian grocery selections.

Been there twice, both times an old lady that seems like the owner made the experience terrible. The food tastes great and the place has a good atmosphere, especially when you can seat outside. Unfortunately, the old lady made sure to spoil both visits by being extremely rude and aggressive towards me and my friends mother that is a senior that is not fluent in english.

WOW! Paul and his wife have done an amazing job revamping this restaurant/market place. The staff is super friendly and the store/restaurant is always clean! You always feel welcome. You ll find all your typical Italian grocery needs at the market, along with delicious and fresh pastries. On the restaurant side you ll find a beautiful and bright space with visibility to the kitchen. The food is fantastic and the selection does change a bit which keeps things interesting. I d recommend the pizza! Don t hesitate to try it out!

Delightful Italian food. Our family shared pizza and a pasta dish. Rigatoni with wild boar sauce was so good. Would definitely return for that alone (visited from the UK). The staff were lovely and made a fuss of my grand daughter, which she loved. We had a red wine, Rufian rosso cardinal a cabernet and malbec. So smooth. I wished I brought a bottle home as cant find it anywhere here.

I love this place and theyre authentic Italian food. I always get the spaghetti with sauce. I can come in here by myself and not feel uncomfortable. The owners are very Hands-On.

Lunch line was really long but the food was fantastic..

I went here a few years ago for lunch and remember is being extremely bland. Partner and I ordered delivery from here recently and still, so, so bland. I couldn t even tell you what was in the tortellini, because it tasted like nothing. Even the sauces tasted like nothing. Even water tastes like a semblance of something but their pasta quite literally tastes like absolutely nothing. I don t even think they use seasoning. I m not sure they know what that is. Their cannolis and garlic knots were passable, but it was clear that the garlic knots were just deep fried dough with some garlic salt on them and the cannolis were an overload of powdered sugar both inside and out. I couldn t believe we spent over $100 here for food that tasted like absolutely nothing!

Everything was delicious and fresh! We stopped for an unexpected lunch. Veal Parm sandwich was awesome. Best Pizza I have had in a very long time. Bought their homemade sauce, bread and cannoli to take home! Service, atmosphere and food was superb!!!! Can t wait to go back and try more items!

Me and my family were going to Barrie for an evening baseball game. Before my son could play we needed a quick bite everywhere in the area was just fast food. Then my son pointed out that there was a fresh bakery in eye view. So I thought ok lets try it. Best food in the area. Lasagna was very tasty and hot and delicious I loved it and so did my sons.

For a Date night, a decadent sweet treat, consistently fresh, delicious meals and the owners and staff are by far one of the many reasons we come back every time. Parking: Park Place.. Usually no problem to get parking close by

Our family loves this place. We get the frozen lasagnas every summer for the cottage weekend. This year we had their frozen meatballs and chicken parm as well. All fantastic. For the ride to the cottage we shared their prosciutto, arugula & sweet pepper sandwich (pictured below). It was DELICIOUS. I will forever get this sandwich when we go by. Great atmosphere and very helpful staff. A beautiful store full of authentic Italian foods. Highly recommend.

I always have an incredible experience at the Italian Eatery in Barrie! This charming spot is more than just an eatery; its a haven for Italian delicacies and treats. But the highlight for my family is definitely their frozen veal lasagna. Its a family favorite, and we cant get enough of it. The layers of rich sauce and cheese are so comforting and delicious. I love going there. Great staff and selection. Their gelato quality is very good. They cook on site as well. Im a picky foodie. Visited the best Italian bakeries across the GTA. This place is good.

Excellent food

We did catered chicken parm, penne alla vodka sauce and their garlic sticks for our son s wedding rehearsal dinner; I have to say that the food was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend and order from here again.

Poor service - unable to substitute sauce on pasta which is quite bizarre. An up charge would totally be understandable but the fact that they refuse to do so confuses me.

Great Italian grocery with a fast casual kitchen for eat in or take out options. Absolutely love this place as a much nicer alternative to fast food drive through when passing through Barrie. They also have just amazing pastries and sweets, although I managed to exercise restraint in our last visit. But if you go, be sure to save room for dessert!

This is a truly lovely place to go! I am an out of towner who just stumbled on this store/cafe in a random fit of hunger, and boy, am I ever glad I did! The service is great, everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere is just lovely. Its very clean and organized. The food though, oh my, the food! The sauce, the breads, the CHEESE! Absolutely stellar! Authentic, yummy food that takes you back to Sunday night dinners with Nonna and Nonno. Kudos to the owners, youve got a really great place here, and fabulous staff! Its rare these days to have such a pleasant shopping/dining experience. It was very much appreciated! Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of accessible parking available here!

Eaten here many times! My favorite Italian restaurant in Simcoe County. Recently ordered a tray of penne with tomato basil sauce for my grad party and people raved about the pasta! Food incredible! Staff friendly and kind! Lovely location!

Amazing meal here. We tried the bruschetta, and spaghetti with arrabiata sauce. Everything was perfectly prepared, the spaghetti sauce was incredible. Definitely worth a visit!

Ordered 1 large and 1 small pasta dish and paid 68.93 for take out which wasn t a problem. I left a 5.00 tip, but apparently that was a mistake as they got the large order completely wrong and gave me a small and on top of that it was pesto which I m allergic too not impressed and will not be returning

This Italian eatery have a very disrespectful employee. We are about to try this place but the moment we entered. One of the servers said that we cant sit on their restaurant unless we already ordered food from them. I have 2 kids with me and to be able to order I need to ask them to sit down first so we can decide what food are we going to order. The rude server said... FOR YOUR INFORMATION, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SIT UNLESS YOU ALREADY ORDERED FOOD. What a rude approach to the customers.

I had a very poor experience with the owners of the restaurant, I ordered a veal sandwich and the taste was very disappointing, way overpriced probably one of the worst Italian restaurant iv been too, it simply didn t help that the owners were very arrogant and rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone

My family has had your buns,desserts and heart shaped ravioli for valentines everything was excellent, I bought your frozen cannelloni spinach and ricotta cheese, absolutely the best I ve ever had.

I ordered catering from The Italian Eatery for a medical training dinner event I hosted with 15 people. We were all thoroughly impressed! I received several compliments on the food, most notably the Francese Chicken - it was a total hit with our guests. Everything we ordered was plentiful and delicious - I would most definitely recommend The Italian Eatery for catering and I know I will be ordering from them again. Thanks a bunch!

I don t even know where to start, the food is pricy for a hot table, came here as we were in the area running some errands and I was in the mood for Italian but not a lot of time to go a typical restaurant. We went inside and indeed as mention in the previous comment a very condescending woman at the cash register with a fake smile and very sarcastic attitude, we waited close to an hour to get our food, Caesar salad $15 super small, I don t understand why the issue with putting more lettuce? Barely any bacon, calamari were really soggy and no crispy as fried calamari should be, Alfredo seafood pasta $25 comes with literally 3 small shrimps and 6 scallops the tiniest ones I have ever seen and nooo taste whatsoever, had to ask for cheese as it was missing in both our pasta; penne rose chicken pasta was decent. But horrible experience and wondering how this place is busy, from the beginning to end not pleasant visit. Wouldn t come back there is so much better Italian places where you are treated with respect and food is so much better.

The quality of food is good the Owners are successful to spite them selves .. The lady on front counter is condesending, rude and insulting .. WE placed our order at 3 pm for 530 pick up.. We arrive to pick it up its busy..We wait in line for our turn a Young lady helps us We get our pastries , pay for meal .. Well waiting the older lady at front counters says We cook the calamari fresh so when you come in its fresh for you .. We said thank you and waited and waited for 25 minutes finally almost 30 minutes later finally the calamari comes up .. A young man goes over to the shelf and brings us the rest of the order .. I asked if our food was sitting there the whole time..Her response was yes but its in insulated containers here touch it she then huffed and said its the holidays were busy .. excuse after excuse ... What should of happend is an apology for the wait and her to ask us if we wanted it remade before offering excuses ... ..She said something about it We said no and left ..As We are walking out the door she in a very condescending tone says have a nice day .. We get home the food is all cold its now been ateast 45 mins since it was packaged..ribeyes are cold pasta is cold .. So call to voice our displeasure over the whole incedent ..She keeps making more excuses and abruptly says I am not in mood to argue with anyone ... She puts us on hold and a gentleman picks up named Paul We go through the whole story his First response was short staffed its very busy ..He says your lucky you only waited 30 mins and not much longer When we told him the ribeye was cold he said that meat is really tender you reheat it .. ..He offered to treat us next time ... and the call ended .. Long story short if you want good food at reasonable price go here.. if your looking to be respect and served with manners as a customer this isnt the place for you ....

Stopped in for a quick bite. Excellent food (Philly Cheese Steak & Classic Italian Sandwiches and Meat Sauce Pasta) and deciding to eat in were served by very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

The dinner specials are awesome. Garlic Knots are great.
