I really recommend the chicken fajitas here. The salsa sauce was suitable for the meal, which even made me add two more pieces of tortilla !

So we didnt know it was plant-based only when we went in and that did aff, but the waitress was so friendly that we decided to stay. Im glad we did! The food was good, the churros AMAZING, and the atmosphere cozy and inviting! I highly recommend! Vegetarian options: The place is 100% plant-based! So many vegetarian options!

Wait! Are you saying thats not ground beef? What? How to make vegan taste like food! I may get some haters for that comment, but I need to share, how amazing and authentic this Mexican restaurant is - without meat! Its filling. Its amazingly delicious. You must eat here! Meals, drinks, desserts, authentically delicious, oh my!! The partners are truly lovely people, passionate about the food and service they provide. Yes! We had an amazing time at [Restaurant Name]! The street corn was huge and juicy, covered with vegan cheese and savory spices absolutely delicious. The ceviche tostada was perfectly refreshing, and the churros were to die for crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were lovely, and the attached drink shop is a must-visit with its huge selection of alcohol-free wines, beers, and kombuchas. We will definitely be going back! We wanted Mexican food and according to reviews this was the best restaurant in town. We ordered guacamole, chicken enchilada and frozen margarita. The service was very good, they even made us a frozen margarita even though it wasnt on the menu. But when we tried the enchilada it didnt have chicken in it, it had mushrooms even though the menu said chicken enchilada. There are also tacos on the menu and it says beef even though of course there is no beef. This is consumer fraud because the menu says chicken, not mushrooms. And it doesnt say anywhere that this is a vegan restaurant.

The BEST place to eat in all of Barrie. Actually, it s worth the drive from wherever you are. The owner is the nicest man the atmosphere is vibrant yet relaxed and the food is flavourful, unique, and beautifully presented on plates that are works of art. DO NOT MISS OUT. Two servers and the owner were incredibly friendly, attentive, knowledgable, and helpful finding dishes that we would be thrilled with. Live music enhanced their 4th anniversary celebratory vibe! We love this place! The food was hands down fantastic. So flavourful and fulfilling. The owner Mani (sp?) was so welcoming, patient and passionate. A lot of care goes into those meals - from the guac to the mocktails, and both of our entrees. You absolutely have to try the churros and ice cream... Came here on a recommendation of a friend. Very wonderful experience. The atmosphere was bright and airy and fun. It instantly made you feel transported down south. All of the staff were extremely friendly and ensured that the experience was exceptional. The menu was small but offered a lot of variety in dishes. The same is to be said for the drink menu. Also a big shout out for all of the gluten free options. Its rare to have so many choices on a menu so I commend the dedication to serving all dietary restrictions. I had a Pina colada and it was great, lots of flavour but not overly sweet, my partner had the spicy sunset Margherita. For food , I had the tacos al pastor and my partner had the barbacoa tacos. Both dishes were great and had that authentic taste of street tacos in Mexico. We also had some of the hot sauces. We were blown away by not only spice level but the flavour. They werent just scorching hot but actually had layers of flavour. We finished with the cayenne brownie. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not trying it. Thanks for a wonderful meal. This was honestly the best vegan food we ve ever had till date. The food was incredibly tasty and flavorful - our favourite was the barbecoa tacos. all plant based doesnt mean no flavour at Mexhico. i had the sopecitos, three thick blue corn tortillas piled with vegan yumminess. the consistency of the tortillas, more like arepas than thin tortillas, is toothsome and the taste is deeply delicious. each is piled with tasty refried beans, vegan sour cream and cheese and pico de gallo salsa. delivious, a great price and filling! service is friendly and the room is airy and pleasant.

Came out to Barrie purposely to eat here & happy to say it was so worth the trip! We saw a lot of people posting pics of this amazing place on Instagram and just had to try! First of all the service is impeccable, the staff and owners are so attentive and kind-- really amazing service the entire time. The Al Pastor & Fish Tacos highly recommend. Have never had vegan mexican food like this. We ordered their House Nachos (the large size- which is huge) and ate the whole thing because it was so delicious. Lastly, the warm, decadent Chocolate Cayenne pepper brownie with icecream on top...INCREDIBLE. The best thing about this place is the people, seriously recommend this gem in Barrie.

This is a hidden gem of a place in Barrie. The atmosphere is on point, the and tequila bar is a nice touch. Very clean premises. Staff are receptive and quick. The food is amazing. Spiced very well, you cannot tell this is a vegan and gluten free Mexican restaurant. Bonus, the double torch salsa and guacamole is perfect. The margaritas are equally as impressive. 10/10 we will be back. Up-Date: as always this spot is 10/10. The loaded fries are legit. And theyre massive.

Came here with Girlfriend and daughter, and as a non plant based eater I was thoroughly impressed! Front of house staff was super friendly, margaritas were delicious, and still cant get over how good the food was. April 2024 - Food is still wonderful and Mexhico is still one of my favourite restaurants for eat-in or take home. I don t know why never tried their burger until just recently, but I am very glad I did - it is one of the best burgers I have had, and I have tried a lot of burgers! It comes with fries which are very good, and the second time I had the burger I asked for Loaded Fries which made this the perfect meal! Nov 2022 - Just popping in here to say that this place is still one of my favourites. The staff are so friendly and helpful and my biggest problem is picking between all the great choices on the menu! 2021 - Best Mexican food anywhere! The tacos are amazing! (But try the nachos and enchiladas too!) Everything on the menu of great - authentic and with good portion sizes. And there s lots of interesting and yummy products on hand like Mexican chocolate, soy curls, local beer and cider, hibiscus petals, fabulous cheeses, Mexican soft drinks and more! Be sure to take home a package of frozen croissants to bake at home - you will be glad you did! Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly, comfortable sort of place. Highchairs available.

The Double Torch hot sauce thats made fresh to order has an instant kick and lingers nicely. We loved it so much we got a bottle to take home. Again they prepared it fresh to order. The preparation of the Enchiladas is outstanding. The sauces are complex with multiple experiences with each bite. The side rice was cooked perfectly. All the ingredients were fresh and carefully chosen for flavour. The Mexican coffee is brilliant with a great medium flavour and enhanced with cinnamon sugar. The coffee was an excellent paring with the churros. The churros were done so well you would not think they are vegan. The kids meal was disappointing in portion or in cost, either way 2 quesadillas with only vegan, corn/ rice side, 1 juice and 1 scoop of vegan ice cream was worth $15. You are better off getting your children an adult entre for $2 more and having left overs. The portions were good overall but because they are vegan, they are not hearty. We were all hungry before we got home. Overall the prices were a bit high but the general experience value was good. We would recommend everyone to try this restaurant if you are interested in vegan options because it does an excellent job of delivering great taste across the menu.

One of the best restaurants in the area and beyond is VEGAN. With a welcoming ambience that transports you from Dunlop street instantly to a Mexican town when you walk through the door. Sit and have a cool Jarrito or cocktail (yes, they are licensed) and test some of their sumptuous samplings of Mexican food. Their VEGAN BARBACOA is savoury and delicious. While not attempting to emulate meat, this vegan alternative will satisfy even the biggest carnivore.

The food and service was good overall, some of the floor layout is open and accessible while the other half is by a step. Liked the meal, and got decent service from Dannon who was very helpful and checked in a few times for the meal. Even offered to answer our questions as it was our first time here. Vegetarian options: All Vegan items substituted for Beans and Mushrooms as main proteins. Pro is for anyone with nut allergies can eat here as nuts are not a protein they use in their food. Wheelchair accessibility: Half of the restaurant has room for walkers and open floor.

Food was great, definitely my top pick in Barrie for vegetarian or vegan food. Even if you eat meat and dairy I think you would enjoy the food Mexhico offers. They dont compromise on flavor just to put vegan on the menu. In my opinion, vegan food gets a bad wrap because its always bland seitan and artificial cheese made for someone who forgot what the imitation they ordered is suppressed to be imitating. Mexhico didnt fall into the same trap. 10/10 will be a regular stop for us. Vegetarian options: Entire menu is vegetarian friendly but you dont have to be a vegetarian to enjoy this restaurant. First of all, its a vegan restaurant, which I wasnt sure about at first since I m not vegan but I m trying to adventure and try new options out there. I was I blown away by how good it was. We ordered the enchiladas and nachos with guac, and holy guacamole, it was insanely delicious! I mean, my taste buds were having a fiesta in my mouth! And then came the churros. Oh my goodness, I could eat those every day for the rest of my life and die happy. They were so freakin good!. But wait, it gets better. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home, and the vibe in there was just perfect - relaxed, cozy, and fun. I seriously cant recommend Mexhico Restaurant enough. If youre looking for a vegan spot thatll knock your socks off, this is the place to be. Im giving it a solid 10/10, no questions asked!

Amazing Mexican food! I m vegan and my boyfriend is not but we were both blown away - highly recommend barbacoa tacos! Wasn t sure what to get and we were recommended those, and I m so glad that we did end up getting them! We ll definitely come back to try more off the menu.

Popped in during Barrie pride festival for the first time. It was so good! Very fresh, flavourful, high quality and beautiful to look at! I cant wait to come back and try different menu items. Also the churros were heavenly!

Everything about this was delicious. Googled vegan from the passenger seat on a long drive down the 400 and this popped up with the best reviews so we (my non-vegan mother and I) gave it a try. We sat on the patio as there was a special event inside. Patio was a bit loud just from traffic noise, but otherwise top notch. Ordered nachos, churros, spicy brownie, and coffees - all perfect. Would definitely stop again the next time we drive through town!

This is absolutely our favourite restaurant. Even my husband the carnivore agrees you can t beat the selection, quality, portions and service.

I was really looking forward to this place as its a fully vegan Mexican spot and it had so many good reviews, however Im quite surprised this place is rated so high as the food was mediocre at best. We tried both the Tacos Al Pastor and the Tacos De Barbacoa, they were extremely dry and had a weird off putting flavour. We also ordered the loaded fries and we were disappointed with those as well, the fries were a weird texture and the flavour was not the best. Only positive about this place was the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. I wouldnt recommend this place to any of my friends or family and I definitely wont be back.

My first time here and WOW. The portions were huge for the nachos and fries. But to call them nachos and fries is a huge disservice. Theyre their own unique culinary experience. The fish tacos and taco pastor was excellent. And all vegan. Totally worth checking out. Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan.

Amazing vegan spot in Barrie, right downtown and near the waterfront. Nice ambiance, chill atmosphere, lots of space and really great window seats. Small patio out front in the good weather. The food was absolutely amazing - all vegan, with tons of gluten free options. We shared the street corn (amazing), and I had the sopecitos while my partner enjoyed the huarache. Both dishes were delicious, the food came out fast and were very filling. My partner (non-vegan) said it was some of the best Mexican food he s had in a long time. We both really enjoyed the crazy ghost pepper hot sauce! We finished off with the churros which were sooooo good. Service was also excellent, recommendations were appreciated and we enjoyed our modified (less sweet) marguerites for sure. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Fully-vegan restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Fully vegan restaurant with gluten free options clearly labelled on the menu. Parking: Street parking available and free after certain times and on Sundays. Check the metres. Kid-friendliness: Kid-friendly options on the menu and the spice level is easily controlled as you choose the salsa. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a step down to the main part of the restaurant/bar but seating is available before that step. Patio is wheelchair friendly. Bathroom is really small and tight, and would be difficult with a wheelchair.

Nice little place to come by. I stopper by with wife and little kid for lunch. We really enjoyed the warm welcome, the simple and really well thought ambiance/decor. Their vegan food was really fresh, tasty, and well done. Portions were generous and the presentation was mouth watering. Easy to come with children with their fun and not spicy kid menu. I loved everything about this place. Service was impeccable, so was the food. It looks like a family run business with plant based options for Mexican food. We tried tacos and nachos plate. There is curbside street parking across the road or public paid city parking in a walking distance.

All together a wonderful experience! We went for my sister in laws birthday celebration, my husband was skeptical(meat lover) but agreed to come and now even he says we will be back. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great and the service was even better! Brad was hands down the best customer service experience I have had in very long time. If you haven t been, go!

We were very happy with our first visit there today. The restaurant is nicely laid out and spacious. The food was delicious (enchiladas and Tacos El Pastor). The staff is genuinely sweet and attentive. I wish they would come to Toronto!

Awesome food and a big surprise hidden until we entered the place (All Vegan). Everything from the starters to the main dish to the dessert were competing with each other on taste. All my group members who were there with us today have decided this to be one of our favorite joint when we are in and around Barrie. Complimenting to the tasty food was the welcoming and friendly service people who gets all stars. A definite recommendation from me for vegan/vegetarian lovers...

Vegan chiknn flautas and fajitas were great, had a Mexican coffee on suggestion that was awesome as well. All around great first stop after flying into Toronto and hastely getting our rental up to Algonquin.

I went here because of the great reviews, while the atmosphere and service was good, I don t know what to make of the food, $22 for 3 beef tacos (no drink). The filling looks more like old, dried, canned croutons instead of beef. Subway meat looks considerably better than what was in my tacos.

Didnt get the opportunity to take a photo of the food but be assured it was incredible. Stopped in en route back to Hamilton from the north and they were accommodating to pack up differently a meal to bring to my partner. All sauces on the side so the tortillas didnt get soggy. Will definitely make the road trip back, well worth it :) Vegetarian options: 100% vegan establishment

Had a fantastic meal here- the Mexican Street corn was amazing, and the barbacoa tacos were super tasty (though the portion size was a little small). The decor was also really fun, though the restaurant was a little chilly in December! I look forward to visiting again in the summer! Love this place more every time I go! They do cater to people with celiac disease which is very nice. Food does take longer sometimes due to food safety precautions and preparing celiac safe meals. I really appreciate this and will continue to be wowed and amazed by the delicious food and friendly staff. The presentation of the food here never fails, the servers are always super interactive and very chill. Food portions and quality is always top notch. It is a plant based restaurant. For some people it might not be their preference but I absolutely love it, its perfect for me. We ordered margaritas this time along with the food, I personally didnt enjoy the mango margarita I ordered but my friend loved it, and I gave my review to the server and asked for some another margarita. The server came back after a bit to ask if I liked the second one? Maybe my taste buds werent ready to drink any cocktails that day, I didnt like that one as well, the server didnt show any judgmental looks or didnt say anything sarcastically, instead offered me juice or water. I agreed. I absolutely loved this experience. It can get a bit expensive, but the experience and food is always worth it.
