Sicilian Gourmet Pizza & Pasta in Barrie

I was hoping to have a real Italian pizza but this place needs restaurant / bar rescue. Flat draft ,flat pop pizza had little to none tomato sauce and ingredients were so small you couldnt tell if what you ordered was on the pizza. Meatball are from a box not fresh. You can tell cuz they were spongey. Service was not good at all. No fault of the waitress cuz she had know experience or training whats so ever and I believe that she is not of age to serve alcohol. She had to get the cook to come out and show her were the bottle of beer was. The decor is so out dated as well miss matching serving plates and cutlery. All together the experience was not what you advertise and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Absolute garbage. Spent 30$ here. Took 30 minutes to get a sausage sandwich and poutine. Sausage tasted like it was sitting in the fridge for days. The poutine had tiny amount of cheese and gravy. Place went down hill since covid. Won t be returning.

Delicious pizza! It took some time to bring to us which tells me, as well as for the taste that it was fresh! The place was nicely decorated with sports legends and cool old school memorabilia!

This was the most disappointing meal out. Service: there were 2 other tables. The server walked past us 5x not asking if we were ready to order. Our menus were already closed and we made eye contact with her. It s the servers job to go to the tables to see if they are ready. Speed and quality of food: we ordered nachos, chicken Mediterranean sandwich, a pasta dish and a small pizza. The nachos is an appetizer. That took over 45 mins to come out. We asked the server 2x for it. The first time I heard her asking the kitchen for it. The second time when we asked how much longer it was going to take, she said there s an entire line up of take out orders. (Ummm no just cause there s take out doesn t mean you leave the customers at the restaurant without food for 45 min). When it finally came out, the chips were over cooked. It was stuck to the tinfoil. The rest were soggy. It was really gross. The Persian pizza came out after that. It was overcooked. It was so unappetizing. It looked like someone kept it in the oven for too long or reheated it. It was really really gross. After we finished the 2 plates, the pasta and sandwich arrived. The pasta was alright. It was the best out of all 4 dishes. The sauce was alright nothing special. The pasta was too soggy not al dante at all. The garlic bread that came with it had no garlic on it. The sandwich was absolutely disgusting. It was so dry. There were 2 tiny pieces of red peppers and almost no goat cheese. It was so dry and so gross. The amount of fries we got as the side was just a handful. I didn t even try a bite - it would ve made me instantly dehydrated cause of how dry it was. It wasn t my meal so thankfully I didn t have to eat it. Bill: if you pay with a visa they charge you 0.26 cents. When our bill was literally over $89 this restaurant couldn t even pay the 0.26 cents. Ambiance: it was pretty uncomfy but if the food was good it would ve been worth it. There was no time to let them know about the food and for them to remake it because we already sat there for so long and we actually had to get home so I could work my night shift after.

Service wasnt great, I understand that there was a woman in training but it took us about 10 minutes to order our pizza in an empty restaurant. The pizza ended up being really good but unfortunately there was a long hair in it. Ended up being overcharged a few dollars as well.

Got it delivered. That is the worst pizza I have ordered in Barrie. I would have rather had Pizza Pizza. Nothing Sicilian about it...when I see cornmeal crust I know it came out of the freezer.

Got their parmesan sandwich, I swear probably the worst tasting thing ever, super dry didn t even taste like chicken. Also not exactly professional, cuss when talking to you. No idea how this place has 4.2 rating. Wasn t cheap either. Also I asked for ketchup for the fries and nothing, didn t even come with water even though I was dining in.

What an absolute waste of money. Felt like a tiramisu, this is what arrived. Embarrassing to send that out to someone.

The person who was there was super rude. He said they were closed for in-person dining (despite the sign saying open outside), so we asked if we could order at the counter then leave once the food was ready, and he still said no. Wed have to call in an order and pick it up once it was ready.

Is this a tiramisu? Totally disappointed as it doesnt taste like a tiramisu at all. Worse experience EVERRR!

Very good food! I have tried the pizza and the pasta and both were very good. They have a front section but the more comfortable seating is in the rear. The staff is very attentive and professional and have exceeded my expectations many times. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

This is my 6th Time coming and yet again I am very impressed with their service and quality of food. I can highly recommend the Chicken and Veal Parm, or any of the pasta`s in general. They have a really cozy dining room in the back with more than enough TV`s to watch whatever you want. Huge Thank you to both Emma and Ashley for having fantastic Customer Service and always making the atmosphere a pleasant one. Keep up the Fantastic Work!!!!

Went with a friend. The only thing I can say that wasnt great. The Salad. were very small and very sparse with ingredients. The main course and dessert was fabulous.

Ordered delivery twice from this restaurant and both times there was errors. The first time both pieces of tiramisu were missing, mistakes happen and I decided to try the restaurant again tonight. Tonight I ordered a chicken caesar wrap with fries and gravy, the gravy was missing completely and the wrap was full of rotten lettuce, making the wrap completely inedible. I had to order a whole new meal from another restaurant for my fiancee to eat this evening. As well as the piece of chocolate cheesecake I ordered for her for $10 was so miniscule and lacking that it seemed like a joke. Will never order from this place again.

Its like home away from home! I come for dinner with my family all the time. The dining room is cozy and hidden in the back giving it a cool the place just keeps going kind of vibe. The staff is amazing and you can taste the love in the food. You wouldnt expect what you get by just looking at the front, to say its a hidden gem is a understatement! &Its a local, small business I love this place Vegetarian options: They have veggie, vegan and gluten-free options

Been meaning to try this place out. Finally got to tonight as we were on that end of town. Wow!! We had chicken parm and meatball sandwiches. Tasted home cooked and great flavors. Didnt know there was a area in back of the restaurant for casual dine in and bar area. Surrounded by sport pictures. What a cute spot. I highly recommend trying these guys out. Hands down we will be back to try another dish. We are huge fans of non corporate companies and prefer to support them. Service, atmosphere, food 11/10

Wow had a fantastic pizza from this place tonight, the crust is awesome.

The food is high quality and the atmosphere is authentic Italian. Their pizza is the best tasting pizza Ive ever had! Ive only had the New Yorker (meat lovers) but Im sure the rest are great too. I was served by the lovely Ashley. She is super friendly and knowledgeable. You may find a cheaper pizza in town, but youll be hard-pressed to find a better one.

Ordered for the first time panzerotti pizzas and Greek salad. The pizzas were soggy and water was oozing out No sauce what so ever! The salad dressing was terrible and the cheese chunks awful We asked about banana peppers and were told not spicy but what a lie that was Very disappointing! Definitely unimpressed and will never return

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and it was spectacular we both ordered the 3 course dinner which we started with onion rings for hubby bruschetta for me Chicken parm sandwich fries and for dessert hubby had the lemon meringue pie and i had the caramel cheesecake and OMG everthing was fabulous. Our server Ash was amazing and was there when we needed anything and yet she did not hover which was great. We felt like we were VIPS thank you so much for wonderful evening and our scrumptious meal. We will for sure be going back.

Let me start with how great and friendly the staff was . HOWEVER this is NOT Sicilian or good pizza. They do have a great selection of toppings and ingredients, but it doesn t make up for the Conveyor Oven and completely raw centre. I specifically asked for it thin and crispy when I ordered it . The gentleman said, that s how we make it.. WRONG. For the higher price of this pizza, there are MANY better options.

We ordered the spaghetti thru Uber, order took forever to come. When it did drive everything was cold and the pasta looked and tasted like it came out of a can. Way over cooked and mush. I do not recommend their food!

Cannot recommend this place enough!!! The portions are generous. The food is prepared with care and quality ingredients you can tell. We had lasagna - fantastic! Caesar salad also fantastic- fresh lettuce (crisp, clean, fresh) no picking through and pulling out bad pieces. I have had better tasting tiramisu, but this one was still good and again good portion. I hope they keep up the high quality standards and great taste. Will definitely be back!

We were in the area and excited to try a new place for the Locallicious food event. Since the restaurant was empty we thought takeout might be best. However the staff at front of house seemed to be totally unaware of the event or Locallicious set menu options. Eventually we were told that it was for dine in only...which would have been fine if the atmosphere had been welcoming. We were told we had to sit in the front area although there is a cozier dine-in area at the back, no explanation was provided. Positives: the food was well-prepared and tasty (especially the rosti main dish) and portions were generous. Our server Ash was warm & friendly. However there was no incentive to spend additional $, so they would have been better off packing our meal as takeout so we could have enjoyed the meal in the more pleasant atmosphere of our own home. In that case we would have been more likely to return to try other menu options in future. Dietary restrictions: A poster outside indicated gluten free pizza is available. Kid-friendliness: Childrens menu had several choices & naming was cute. Many photos of sports personalities throughout the restaurant!

Great food, had Pizza & Wings delivered to the hotel room the first night and 2 night later we ordered in Veal Parmesan & Bruschetta. Fast delivery service and it arrived piping hot. We will definitely be back.

This was a birthday dinner for my seven year old grandson. We are visiting for the March break in the Barrie area and were looking for something specific for him. Called ahead and inquired as to whether or not they had gluten-free pasta. It had to be egg free as he is anaphylactic to eggs. They said it was so we selected this location. We will come back here and we highly recommend it. Our compliments to the chef and to the attentiveness of our waitress. Dietary restrictions: I prefer gluten-free pasta as I am sensitive to gluten, but my grandson is anaphylactic to eggs and so they gave him gluten free pasta with a choice of penne or spaghetti, and all 6 of us each had a different selection. The wine was delicious. The tiramisu and lemon pie was excellent as well. Kid-friendliness: They were so accommodating with both my grandsons. They had a kid portion of chicken fingers and fries for the one and as I said previously, very accommodating for the one who is allergic to eggs. Because they knew it was his birthday, our wonderful waitress brought him a scoop of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a candle in it, and sang happy birthday. We did not instigate this and were all really happy. . He could not eat the cake because of egg content, but he loves ice cream and thank you. Very kindly checked it for egg content as well. He was very happy.

I really liked the interior and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was legit. I loved that they had beer on tap. They had tvs playing sports and news which was entertaining. My server Maria was genuinely pleasant and friendly and made me feel welcome. I will be coming again for more food because it was very good tasting.

We went for an americano pizza and brusetta. As usual it was excellent. Food here is so awesome. Love love their food. Our waitress Maria was also pretty awesome .

Our family went here to dine in for dinner and couldnt possibly of made a better choice! The pasta with garlic bread was the best weve had in ages! We will be new regulars for sure! I love the food, but when walking in today I was charged full price, and not the walk in price. I asked why, they said its because I didnt ask for the walk in special, even though Ive gotten the large pizza at the walk in price every single time I would visit, because its advertised on a sign they hang up. I honestly just thought it was a given, so I ordered normally.

Great pizza! Probably the best in Barrie! I eat their pizza regularly and honestly I can see why they are top rated pizzeria. Pizza is always made well and the topping are always generous and careful placed on the pizza with care.

We recently had my Mothers 84th birthday at this restaurant. We all enjoyed it thoroughly! The food was great, the price was good, the atmosphere was good, the staff was friendly and efficient! I would definitely recommend this place if you want authentic Italian food and not have to put up with the noise and knock-off food the a chain restaurant has. Pizza was amazing Staff very friendly and their menu is huge. So many authentic Italian/ Sicilian dishes I got the Amaricano pizza this time but I definitely plan on going back with my family and trying more things best Italian food I ve had in Barrie and I m Italian also their fries were PERFECT Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: They have gluten and dairy free options as well as peanut free I believe Kid-friendliness: They have a kids section on the menu but it seems to cater more to an older audience. Id say like age 10 and up

Amazing Italian restaurant! We absolutely love the staff and their excellent Manager Matt. Marie treated us so well when we were visiting from Canada last year, we needed to bring family this year! I have been a regular customer with uber delivery for this restaurant, today for some reason when I ordered chicken rosti and a penne the order was delivered without chicken on a rosti, I called the restaurant to which on the first call the person told me to call uber and ask for refund, called again to check if they really sent 2 bags or 1 the person offered that will be sending chicken for the rosti .plain chicken breast maybe microwave friendly recieved .kudos to your service let the pictures do the talking . Btw i did go and dropped the food back with a $20 tip for the chef

Well, we didnt actually get any food. Service was good, but when drinks came (fountain pop) they were undrinkable. I am almost 50, had lots of pop, good and bad, this was something all together differnt. We tried to figure out the menu, but there were so many fusion type dishes that I couldnt find anything that spoke to me. We wanted a sit down pizza place as Pizza Italia only does takeout now. They have pizza on the sign, and pizzas when you enter the restaraunt, but no pizza menu aside from the preselected, and no family sizes.. only small. Not the end of the world, but 21$ for a small pizza is a bit rich for me. Seeing as it was Friday night, dinner time, and we were the only people in the place, we took it as a sign and went somewhere else.

Pizza was ok..

We will never go back. It was the worst tiramisu we have had in our lives. The cream tasted like mayo mixed with cream cheese. Was served in a plastic round container. The place is not run by Italians by the way and it shows. Grungy inside and not even a espresso machine. We didnt say anything to the owner or manager. We didnt get a hello or a smile when we left. The server was nice.

Been going here for over 20 years. Tonight I placed an order for pickup based off their menu on THEIR website. The person working the phone couldn t tell me why all the prices were higher than the website. Owner gets on the phone. Tells me prices went up. If you want to see the price you need to come in. I m like that defeats the purpose of ordering ahead. He tells me if I don t like it go somewhere else. One item he said only went from $11.99 to $12.99. I tell him the website says $10.99. How outdated is it??? I ve never looked at the prices before. He said he can charge what he wants. Unreal. Like unreal. Beyond rude. Ignorant rude thieves. He didn t know who I was until the end. Must have looked up how much I spent there. Tried offering a discount. Pfffttt. This place won t get one more nickel of my money. EVER!!! I am responding to your reply. It was never about a price increase. I have no problem with a restaurant raising their prices, there hasn t been an industry hit harder over the last few years. I m a huge advocate for the restaurant industry. It was your tone and response. I know how you speak, I ve been a customer for a very long time. This was a whole new level. You clearly said if i don t like it to go somewhere else, among many other nasty and rude comments. That attitude i will NEVER support. Good luck to you

I hate leaving a bad review places , but I used to get Sicilian all the time - something must of changed with the pizza - it s way different? It had no sauce on the pizza ? - thank you for replying actually , I will change the review to a 3 and give a call tmrw And try again another time

Save your money. One of the worst Ive had. Pizza was burnt with garlic spice all over it. Fish was burnt and so dry my dog turned his nose up. Gravy was a black lumpy mess. Salad was store bought dressing and croutons so dry should be thrown out. Shameful.

What a gem of a place! Ordered a large order of pizza and wings for a group of people, first off, the food was delicious and steaming hot when I arrived for pick up. But more important than the taste, was the incredible service we received from the manager and all staff involved. Next time I am in Barrie, I will make a point of eating here again!

Im not sure how this place has such high reviews. Weve ordered twice here. 1st time we had to return our order we picked up because the Nachos were a pile of absolute mush. Its like they took the bottom of the bag and dumped the crumbs on it and covered it in cheese. There wasnt 1 single whole chip intact. It was inedible, unless you like eating nachos with a spoon. 2nd time, we ordered pizza since thats what their known for. I was extremely sick the rest of the night throwing up, so was my partner. Glad to see others had great experiences but we will never dine here again.

I ordered the poutine and my girlfriemd had ordered a pasta Most of what they have has definatley been frozen. Poutines fries were frozen as well as the gravy. The cheese was shredded and not cheese curds. I think it was store bought along with the noodles. I ended up sick afterwards wich was not a very good eperience. My girlfriend seems to be okay wich is good. I will not be coming back.

Wow! We ordered a chicken and veal dinner. They were absolutely delicious! I have ordered here many times and Im never disappointed. The homemade quality tops anywhere else in town. I didnt even take a picture bc I couldnt wait to eat it! I will forever recommend Sicilian to anyone looking for a quality meal that tastes like home.

My husband and I are from Calabria. Every city we go to we try out Italian restaurants and bakeries, many call themselves Italian and they are not, you can tell by the sauce, ingredients, cheeses, bread and espresso. The Sicilian was the real Italian restaurants although the sports decor set us off a bit we thought it would be Bar style Italian. IT WAS THE REAL ITALIAN FOOD...1st sign was the sauce,natural no sugar, natural seasoning fresh tomatoes. The bread, real Italian crusty Bread.. There was much more, service was good, we were checked on and listened to. The menu extensive, pizza pastas and anything you crave in Italian food. Not upscale but food definitely Italian. We will be going again to try out the numerous other Italian dishes. Not a disappointment, did not expect real Italian, because many have the title Italian and are not, the sauce comes from cans. it must be tried out by anyone stopping into Barrie who loves Italian food. Fabulous food, delicious and served hot. Staff are friendly and welcoming. We have been there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.

This HAS to be the BEST pizza place in Barrie! We ordered an extra large pizza and we didnt have any leftovers...not even the crust!

Found this place by chance, they have seating in the front but also a sitdown dining room in the back. We opted for sitdown and were greeted by a friendly server who provided great service throughout our meal. The menu is large but we decided on the mussels in tomato sauce for an appetizer and the baked cheese rigatoni and the veal parmesan sandwich for mains. The mussels were delicious, the sauce was amazing and came with four pieces of garlic bread to sop it all up. The rigatoni was nice and cheesy on top with a tasty sauce and the veal was very tender with a fresh crusty bun for the sandwich. Next time well have to try the pizza!

Dined in and the service was amazing! we had the baked cheese rigatoni and it was soo good!! Real authentic cooking, hot out of the oven and great portions! Definitely coming back!

This place is so good. We came here randomly after seeing it here for years, and my god was it a hit. Amazing prices and the pizza is even better. The staff is friendly and inviting, the atmosphere is super unique. 5 stars all around. We ve eaten more pizza here in the past week than anywhere else in the past year.

Hands down the best pizza in Barrie. Wonderful staff and compliments to the chef who makes a really incredible pizza. You can tell they use high quality ingredients and make it with love. Highly recommend.

Delicious food in large portions for a great price what more could you ask for. Me and my wife have been looking for a good Italian restaurant for awhile now and this is now our go to place for great pasta.

First visit with three friends as we try to support local restaurants. Owner ( Reza) was pleasant and helpful with recommendations. Food was excellent. We tried four different dishes for dine-in and all reported favorable comments. I had cheese rigatoni with extra sausage and was very pleased. One needed gluten free pasta and Reza was happy to accommodate her request. Other dishes were penne and sandwich with Caesar salad and all were finished completely with the comment consensus as we will be back as this is a keeper on our list of local restaurants. My family eat here all the time when we lived next door. We were sad we had to move to the north end of barrie. But we treat ourselves and make a tirp there to eat dinner as Over the last 4ish years I have never had a bad meal or service and we all left full belly. The last two years have been hard for family owned restaurants and we made sure to drop in and support them as best we could. If your looking for an amazing restaurant with great food head there as I would 100% recommend it to anyone!!

I stopped to get gas in the same plaza and my 4 year old daughter pointed to the pizza sign and I am so glad she did! We walked in to get a slice and its such an amazing place! Pepperoni and Hawaiian were both fantastic! Great customer service and a very cozy ambience! We are taking the menu and will definitely be coming back!

Came in for dinner with my boyfriend and this place hit the spot! Our server, Mae was terrific! Helpful, attentive and overall provided excellent customer service. I ordered a chicken pesto pizza and was happy that they offered gluten free crust. It was tasty and the portion size made for plenty of left overs. My boyfriend went for the spaghetti and meatballs - he ate the entire plate! He definitely enjoyed it! We both agreed, we ll be back to enjoy another delicious meal.

Quite good, I was surprised

A group of 4 is stopped in for a dinner on our way hame for a camping trip, so we re really wanting comfort food. The food was delicious and our server Panthea was very sweet and efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant for a casual friendly place with good food.

What a great little jewel Barrie has here. Came from out of town and just happened to drive by this great restaurant. I cant say enough about the food and the service which were both top notch. Loved the make my own pasta, and my wife was in heaven eating the chicken parm sandwich. Very good value for the experience and for the food. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Very delicious food, small place, not too busy for a lunch on a Saturday. The homemade pasta sauce was fantastic in the Chicken Parmesan dish. The NY meat lovers pizza was very good as well. A little pricey for the ambiance, but definitely good food. Will come back again to try more stuff on the menu!

The pizza is phenomenal & a must for anyone new to the city or old . My son told me about this place he was not lying . Im gonna try these pasta dishes that look amazing in flavors . There is a very awesome old school vibe when I walked in I felt at home just getting my pizza . My husband and I just found this GEM, last Saturday! We will be going back, again and again. Best pizza weve had in Barrie! The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was outstanding! The selection is great, the quality is excellent, it s great value, service is always accurate and welcoming The Sicilian is our favourite Italian Restaurant in Barrie and has been for years Casual, comfortable and the prices are very good. I highly recommend giving it a try Vegetarian options: Excellent Eggplant Parmigiana, which I love being a vegetarian The Lasagna though not vegetarian is a favourite of my husband good pizza too! I love pizza so much and seen that this company got awards and high ratings. Spent $35 on a large pizza and it was not good at all and expected better especially the bruschetta with feta , my gf and I didn t like neither items and I was so disappointed because I had high hopes. The service was good though A Italian restaurant called Theo s in Orillia has way better pizza and way better bruschetta honestly they really do and lots of other goodies.

Great menu, reasonable priced

I ordered veal parmesan sandwich and fries. It was terrible, taste nothing even when I put salt. It is not homemade and I really dont know if it veal at all. No crunch even the fries. It was my first and last I ordered something there. Parking: Its in a Mall

I went here earlier tonight with my Husband and it was wonderful. Weve ordered from here twice before but first time dining in. Ash is super nice and she even remembered us from the last time we picked up! We had the Fried Calamari, NY Meat lovers pizzas and of course Tiramisu and Im telling you is it the best tasting pizza and dessert you will ever have!! Hands down our favorite pizza place and we will definitely be coming back more often. The menu is huge with options from gourmet pizza and pastas, build your own, appetizers and much more!! My first time at this family restaurant in Barrie. Food is amazing. We ordered the cheese rigatoni and the famous baked panzerotti. We definitely enjoy the home made taste and the portions size was more than enough. With leftover for the next day. We will be back.
