Applebee's in Barrie

Was seated quickly and was greeted by a friendly staff member. The one complaint I have is that all 3 meals did not come out at the same time, and I had to point it out to staff. Other than that, I had a great experience at a fair price. Food

Food was ok. Service was great. Atmosphere was OK. There were some guests that were bothering other guests.

Well our waiter/bartender Kris made it clear he was not happy to be serving tables. He told us point blank to hurry up and order, yelled at two other employees and continued to slam cups around. Worst experience ever

Always great service when we go in. The servers are on their A-game. Kitchen gets our orders ready in great time. Prices are extremely reasonable. Great patio as well.

Went for dinner the other night. Food wasnt the greatest. Decided to give it a second try. This time was worse. $100 and my husband left hungry. The amount of food you get for your money is so small. Restaurant was empty. Not surprising. Dont think well give them a 3rd try.

Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The food was good. Our booth was central to the building, farthest from windows, but close to the kitchen, so was easy to catch the waitress.

We went to this restaurant today for lunch, and wont be going back. We had a guest meet us for her lunch, but because the service was so slow, she had to request a to-go box with the meal delivery. The riblet meal came and it was undercooked...we brought it home to finish it off before enjoying it. The chicken fajita wrap wasnt even toasted, and the fries with that meal came cold which seemed odd since the fries with the rib plate were hot. We would have appreciated the server to come back to our table and bring a napkin with the dessert that was served. He seemed like he really didnt care if we were there or not. For an $84.00 price (no drinks were ordered), all three of us were very disappointed.

Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive my wife and I had the shepherds pie, which was a deconstructed, very tasty version of the dish. Our friends had the steak, which they enjoyed. Our server treated the kids like adults and took their orders directly from them and it was great! All in all, we enjoyed our visit!

Very dissapointing experience tonight. Adult entree with an allergen that was not listed on the menu (i would have just ordered something different if id known in advance). Poorly cooked meat in fajitas and a kids menu item which was awful. Will not go back. Far too expensive for a bad experience. Wait staff was fine.

Great place. Sat outside on the patio. Portions were average for the price. Service was reliable and friendly. The only thing I would suggest: have the wash rooms cleaning schedule checked, it wasnt as clean when I visited it.

First time here. Wasnt overly busy. They dropped the ball. Took a while to get drinks. 5 adults in our party. Second refill was quick, that was the only thing done right until settling the bill. Food was ordered at the same time. First 3 entrees came out. One was done incorrectly and the server passed it off as no big deal. It then took 5 mins extra for the last two meaning two of us had to watch as the others eat. Then we were offered someone elses spinach dip and someone elses beef dish. They didnt get the quesadilla burger done right as it was supposed to have a poutine on the side. It didnt and was supposed to have pickles on the side, it didnt. On top of that the overall portions on that burger was a childs portion of beef. I wouldnt recommend them and I wont be back.

So happy to see an Applebees here in Canada. Haven t eaten there in over 15 years! The chicken wonton tacos were fabulous! Excellent wait staff!

We went here on Saturday for a friends birthday dinner. Yes our group was pretty large but the establishment was no busy by any means. First issue was the way they had the group seated at 3 seperate tables extremely odd and not very accommodating. Second issue was it was our servers first day on the job, to me thats alot when youre just learning the ropes. Although this person was extremely kind the service was not great & no one helped. Third issue their all you can eat was not that, my husband and a friend order this. First dish came out cold & my husband ordered another dish as it was all you can eat after reminding the servers multiple times about whats happening it never came. Fourth issue when we asked for the bill, EVERYONES steaks were over charged. They tried charging us 50$ a plate for a steak that was like 32$ they didnt even have a steak on the menu that was priced that high. Fifth issue multiple people who did order the steak ended up sick a few hours later... Our group wont be back to this establishment as there was just so many problems & it seemed as if no one takes pride in their job anymore. If you do plan on giving it a try make sure you go over your bill.

They have changed their menu since I was there last. Food tasted microwaved from frozen. Service was fine ..atmosphere felt dated and old fashioned! Far too expensive compared to other restraunts. Wheelchair accessibility: OK parking ans some tables on the main elevation.

Would never come back. Had to send our steak back twice and in the end had to go with something else. The service was so slow even though there was only a few people in the restaurant. Dessert was take out and that took 20mins to get. Not worth the time or money.

Ive been at many Applebees I order bourbon chicken.. They served me a white piece of chicken with grill line on it.. Nothing like the several Applebees Ive been at. All franchise s should be prepared the same. Sent it back Came back the same. Very disappointed.. They dont seam to care. Never going back. Sad sad sad They should be ashamed.

I don t live in Barrie anymore but when I do come here I always want to come back to this Applebee s location. Great food, nice sizeable portions, great and friendly service. Took my mom here for lunch on May 18th and the food came out hot and fast. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice time out. Thanks again Applebee s!

Lost a customer forever! We reserved a week in advance to book a reservation for 4 people and it was confirmed. 30 minutes before our dinner time they call to say were canceled now because a large group of 30 Walk in so they can overcharge them their 20% fixed gratuity. Terrible business acumen and treatment of customers. I live around the corner but will never come here. We will take our business where were welcome. Thank you

Not much for vegetarians. However we had the nicest waitress and I asked if the bacon could be taken out of the Mac&cheese. No it was part of the sauce, but would I like a pasta with an Alfredo sauce? Yes please and it was awesome!

What a disappointment to say the least . 1st so dark in there can t read the menu , had to use my flashlight on my phone to see the menu . 2nd wife ordered fish and chips 1 was piece was salmon and 1 was haddock. And it tasted off . Manager said the Cajun seasoning would make the fish go pink lol . Don t think so . I ordered the chicken bowl . 1st piece of chicken okay second piece was cold and slimy in the middle . This is the second and last time we will come here and won t recommend to anybody. Sad as way before covid we ate here couple times and it wasn t bad . Then we had a bad experience (bad food 1st time) so we gave them a break . We decided today 3/30/24 to give it another go after it being so long and what a disappointment and to the manager it s better to be honest then lie to a Customer as I grew up eating fish of all types my whole life and when you tell someone the fish went pink due to seasoning what a mistake that was . Don t recommend this place !!! Our server was great and so apologetic about what happen , only good thing I can say about this review!!

I go to a restaurant to enjoy my meal. I dont expect to be recorded on a Youtubers (Ken Domik) phone so he can post on his YouTube channel (KBDProductionsTV) for monetary gain. Recording staff members and patrons without thier consent or knowledge. Also as a longtime former restaurant manager, I do not appreciate him stealth camping in your parking lot overnight in his Mercedes sprinter van he does this at many locations. Does he not realize how disconcerting it is when staff members leave late at night and see a van with blacked out windows sitting in the parking lot. Just so he can make money on youtube. I have also emailed Applebees headquarters about this, but I have heard nothing back.

If I would be able to give this place a 0 star across the board I would. This was by far the worst restaurant experience in my life from bad waiters to horrible food the manager kinda a little bit made things a little better but I will never come back to this horrible restaurant steer clear of this place it s a nightmare

So....the only reason why I gave the food three stars is because the only thing I could eat there was the beyond burger without the mayo (plant based). I am not a big salad eater, so that is probably the biggest cop out option for vegetarians/vegans. The burger was really good, dont get me wrong, I just wish there were other options. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, and everything is very clean. The waitress was awesome and very friendly. I wouldnt likely go back there just because of the menu, but for anyone who doesnt have food restrictions or other dietary requirements, Im sure this place is super awesome for them. Side note.....it also seemed really expensive! I got the burger that came with fries, and a cranberry juice and it was $28!!! Vegetarian options: Salads and beyond burger......that is all Dietary restrictions: No real plant based options. The beyond burger comes with mayo so I had to ask for it not to be there....I do believe they had gf options though

Friendly helpful staff, great appetizers

The experience was overall alright. The only saving grace was our amazing server Rema. She was very enjoyable, and tried her hardest to fix the mistakes with my food. My steak came out wrong twice .. and she apologized a bunch and really saved the experience, me and my partner would come back just for her. It was annoying to spend so much on a steak i couldn t eat, but my partner enjoyed their food enough.

Great family restaurant

The service was horrendous!! The bartender had too much going on waited 5 min to be even asked about drink order, food was Norma time normal delivery not the waitress never came back., had to stop a hostess to ask for the bill and it still took another 10 minutes!! Steak was tough and Soinachndip was lukewarm and tortilla chips were stale !! Will not be returning

Was the only place willing to hold a big group and they did fantastic. Everything was perfect, bulling for each smaller group was accurate. We will be going more often.

Was there on a busy Saturday afternoon. We expected a little wait for our food but it was on the table fairly quick. Our server, Shawna, was on top of her game! We ordered Spinach dip to start, came out room temp, and was the worst dip we ve had at any restaurant, including other chains. The food looked and was served nothing like advertised on the menu or website menu. Main courses were mediocre at best, again nothing served hot. The service was okay, but weren t really attended to other than the basic order taking and bringing of the food, and they were not busy, as it was around 7pm on a Sunday night. Our chances to return ever again are quite slim. There are so many food options in the area, I would suggest going elsewhere.

This place was ok, not bad but not amazing either. The atmosphere was nice, although it was a little too dark for some people to read the menus. The server was nice but the service was kind of slow. The food was off the mark. Drinks were overly sweet, dishes were a bit too salty. My Four Cheese Chicken Mac n Cheese pasta was salty and it kind of clashed with the sweet chicken.

Our server Rima was amazing and very attentive even though we had a huge group. Food was pretty good. Not from Barrie, but would keep going there if I was local.

I went here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing. All you can eat for $23 and you get a choice of 3 meats and you can have all 3 if you like and also endless fries. Ashley our server was amazing and thank you to everyone for signing my card. I got a free birthday dessert too and a coupon for a free entre on my next visit. Wow. Thank girls for the delicious meal

It was fantastic. Ordered the appetizer mixer thing, the shrimp Parmesan sirloin steak. Waitress was very friendly and visited just enough to make sure we were taken care of without interrupting. Will be back again!

Applebees used to be a family favorite, lots of memories with the kids. Food is pretty bad now. No flavor at all. Four cheese pasta, didnt live up to the expectations, seemed like an Alfredo sauce. And the chicken on top were the same strips used in their salads. No cheese melted on top. Super different from the picture. I guess because we asked for no bacon they skipped the cheese on top too. Sent that back, ordered the Asian Chicken Salad to replace it. So the Asian part was totally missing, no ginger, no garlic, no soya sauce, just some sliced almonds and tasted like coleslaw dressing. Best thing was the chocolate cake. Even the pita chips werent pita chips. So disappointed.

Food was mediocre at best... good service and nice atmosphere... but, since we are out of town, we wont return on our next trip to Barrie. :(

Our first time here, we are a family of 4 with young children. It smelled strongly of fried fish when we walked in, not a big deal- but still not pleasant. Our server was friendly, but so incredibly forgetful. We ordered the kids chicken bites which were decent, and the 3 course dinners one was a burger and the other the ribs really dry and over cooked- the fries were alright though. And the burger was about the most unremarkable thing ever. The pickle spears were really good though. The ladies bathroom smelled /looked like a washroom at a gas station. I felt cleaner before I went in.

Visited the Bayfield location on Canada Day and had a few appetizers and a drink. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. I had not been here for a few years but was so glad I went back, it was fantastic.

I havent been to Applebees in many years. But my family stopped in last week for a birthday and all had great meals. So they went again today and took me and I agree the food was great for the price we paid. They have a deal on right now a 3 course meal for $20 to $25 depending what you got. For app i had the Wonton Chicken Tacos which were crunchy, fresh and tasty. The main was a Tex Mex Shrimp Bowl that was slightly spicey, very flavourful, fresh bright veggies and left me full but not sluggish like usual entrees do. Then for dessert I had these lovely Mini Cinnamon Buns with cream cheese icing on the side. Our hosts name was Jackie she was very friendly and gave us great service. Only downside to the experience is at first were seated at a booth that was very narrow and tight but server gratuitously moved us to a table were there was more room.

Food is to be as expected from a chain. But the service is poor - just not enough staff. We were also surprised that they dont include calorie count on the menu.

For the menu and value, this is my families go-to. For mid level chain. I like it better than Kelseys, East Sides, etc. For the money, the beef is passable, and the other items are very good. Of course, the riblets are legendary. The deep fried Pickle spears are the best I have ever had too. Parking: Easy free parking Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids. Everyone expects it. Full kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: We have a friend who needs a WC, and we have been there a couple times, no issues.

Well if the service wasnt outstanding i would have given this review a 1 star. Our waitress was so lively and made sure everything was to our liking. The food on the other hand was very low quality. The fajita plate was so so salty, we had shredded lettuce on the side it was all shriveled and brown, the sour cream watery, salsa watery and tasteless.

Stopped in for a quick bite yesterday. Wasn t quick. Food was ok. My rice was dry and hard, seemed like leftovers from the day before. Took a long time to get our food and the waiter didn t check in on us. Restaurant stunk and washrooms stunk even more. We don t have Applebee s up north, so I was really hoping to love this place.

Applebees is a very family friendly environment to go eat with your family and friends. The service at Applebees is almost as good as their food! Jakki was a very helpful server. Food came quick, was fresh and was hot. I appreciate a good meal, and applebees I appreciate you.

Absolutely rude host. After waiting 15 minutes to be greated she rudly tells us we have to wait another 30 min with many empty tables. Garbage attitude! Better places in town to eat. They obviously dont want or need the business. Will be reporting to head office!

A perfect stop and break on our drive home from Algonquin Park to Hamilton. The food was great and the service was very friendly. Since there is no Applebees in Hamilton, we look forward to stopping and eating here on our long drive back home.

There are fewer options for vegetarian people. So I was confused what to order. They said they can replace chicken with beyond meat. So you can have anything from the menu and that was the best part about this restaurant. I had Southwest Chicken bowl (replaced with Beyond meat) and that was DELICIOUS. I can t explain how much I loved it! The ambiance was amazing. And staff is friendly. I am gonna visit this place again for sure!

We had lunch yesterday and we found it very disappointing to say the least! We ordered coffee and water to start the coffee was horrid. While I had the fish and chips the fish was quite dry the only salvaging item were the french fries. My boyfriend had the pasta with chicken strips and we later found the cheese stick that came with it was an additional cost. It was quite dark inside. I was most disappointed because I had recommended the restaurant to my boyfriend and we will not be coming back and not recommending it to any of our friends!

Was looking forward to going here. We arrived and waited by the hostess stand for I don t even know how long. Not a single waitress or bartender even acknowledged us to let us know someone would be over to help us shortly. We say wait staff but no one seemed too eager to help us. People who came in after us left before we did. Super disappointing

We went for lunch. I have been to applebees USA alot! this was my first applebees Canada. I must say it was underwhelming. The food wasnt good, the salad leaves tasted bitter, the spicy maple shrimp was actually too sweet and no spice!?, the service was decent which is why I gave 3 stars.

Front end staff were great. Very attentive and tried to correct the food situation. Went out for dinner, hadnt been in a few years, and was excited to try out the 55 plus menu. Smaller portions are always nice. Our group of 5 had three 55 plus meals and a two can eat for $52. Everything, except the mac and cheese was overly salted on every possible level. Part of it, according the the manager, was due to the pre-purchased ingredients from their supplier, and some was the overly judicious salting by the kitchen staff. The meal, on a whole, was not eatable or enjoyable. The best we got was $20 off on a bill that was over $150. Very disappointing. Wanted to contact head office but there isnt an email to contact. Once again, front end staff was great, but the food became the topic of our conversation. We will not be coming back again.

This location has become very disappointing lately and Me and my family use to love coming here. Food was horrible and burnt. We always get stuck with a waitress named Val who seems annoyed at alterations of dishes on the menu. Something seems off about her behaviour and mannersims. Will not be coming back.

Right off the bat, a lot of things have changed. The last time I went to an Applebees, the menu had items that were closer to those of Kelseys but this time around, they were more influenced by Mexican cuisine. Not necessarily a problem but it is something that I immediately noticed. The second thing I noticed was that the lights were very dim in the restaurant, creating a very calm and cozy atmosphere. It took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust but I still think it was a pretty nice change from the usual lighting in restaurants. The waiters were very friendly, but the food did take a little while to come out. I ordered the Chicken Wonton Tacos, which were very refreshing but could have used a little bit more spice. They were, however, very aesthetically pleasing as the taco shells had a wonton consistency.

Waiter was very nice. Food was ok. Almost choked to death on a plastic shard in my appetizer. Was hoping the restaurant would comp some of our meal. Nope! FYI there is a Baton Rouge up the road - better food, ribs and I m sure service.

Use to go here all the time after many years we now with kids went back a week ago or so , the place look exactly the same as it did 10 plus Years ago.. and the smell was horrible Time for some renovations .

My husband brought me there for my first time! To start with, the placing ladies were very friendly. The Food we ordered were the homestyle chicken bowl and the waffle poutine. And The dessert, a lava cake with ice cream oh my god! Heaven on a plate! All were sooooo DELICIOUS! Our waitress was PERFECT! Friendly, smiling, helpful, enthousiastic and we can tell she loves her job! The prices were affordable too! We will return for sure! Kid-friendliness: They got little high chairs for kids! Wheelchair accessibility: No step so it is easy to access!

We were seated for over 20 minutes and were not seen once, and a nother table was seen over 4 times

If I could but no stars I would... I went tonight with my husband, son and friend.. they sat us but then after 30 minutes of being ignored and not even offered drinks we just got up and left and they didnt even acknowledge us.

I would like to say that we had the most pleasant experience form our server at Applebees. Her name is Alexis and she was so friendly and we want to come again. The food was fabulous and it was a nice environment. I thank you Alexis for the great service and the great food bring us great memories. We will be back.

Stopped for dinner Oct 19 @ 6:15PM There was a moderate number of guests, but restaurant was not busy. We were welcomed properly by the hostess who did a good job getting us a nice table. Unfortunately the evening went down hill after that. We waited about 20 minutes and were not approached by any of the servers.!!!! We went back to the Hostess and asked if a server had been assigned to us. She apologized and assured us that someone would be right over. 15 minutes later.... still no service!!!! Extremely frustrated, we left the restaurant a few minutes before 7 pm This was the single most worst dining experience that we have ever had, and will never go back to this Applebees The ONLY reason for a one star review is that Google does not allow ZERO stars

Got the quesadilla burger came out was not at all like the menu it tasted ok at best wife had quesadilla she side it was fine I am stopping at Wendy s on the way home to get enough food Was not very happy with the meal Food : 1/5

I am sure that the service would have been great is any of the staff had of bothered to come to our table. We sat for over 20 minutes and multiple staff walked by our table and looked our way, but no one stopped to take our order. When other people came in and sat around us and their server came right to their table and took their orders, we decided to leave. On the way out the hostess and another staff looked shocked when I explained why we were leaving. Not sure if we will be back.

Great service with friendly staff. Menu is mostly Mexican-inspired, but there are enough other options to satisfy most people. The prices are also quite reasonable. Weve been going to this location for years and have never really been disappointed. Except maybe by the steak but you get what you pay for right?

I was in on Saturday and debated leaving a review for a couple days but after what I saw I realized it cannot be left alone. I walked in and waited awhile to be seated. As I was with my table I witnessed a server getting screamed at and absolutely belittled in front of the entire restaurant. This is absolutely unacceptable, as someone who s worked in the service industry for 4 years I have never witnessed something this crass. I feel horrible for this poor girl. On top of that, service was slow which I don t blame the server for, clearly management is terrible so I m assuming their sections were messed up or all the servers were flustered from being led by management who has no idea how to run a restaurant. Food was gross and cold. I could barely eat anything. Go somewhere else if you can. Get better management or you re gonna lose all your staff and this place will be shut down. Would give 0 stars if it was an option.

Good service, Food okay. Value for experience below average.

Waited 20 minutes to be served, waiting for someone to take our drink order atleast & that didn t happen. We waited so long we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. Not to mention there were servers all around us that didn t come to wait our table.

Very disappointed. Waited along time for our food. No one came to the table to communicate why, in fact felt ignored. When food came it was cold. Wont be back.
