Very friendly owner, she made me feel like I was back in Italy! The pizza was amazing and the dough was baked perfectly! My partner ordered lasgana and he loved the freshness of it! I ordered the seafood linguine and switched the sauce to a buttery wine sauce, the seafood medley tasted frozen, but the portion size was perfect! We will definitely go back to try the mushroom pasta and other pizzas on the menu :)

I love the fact that they are open on Sundays as its very hard to find a good restaurant in Barrie open on a Sunday serving authentic family Italian meals! I was there tonight with a friend and we both loved it, the food the service everything. What a great restaurant and it wasnt loud very smooth and peaceful thats a big thing for me.

The place smells the owner was friendly to everyone except our table.

As soon as we walked in you can smell a wierd smell, the food also smelled a little wierd. We sat and ate the owner spoke to everyone but us .

Hands the best Italian food I ve had in southern Ontario ever. Nobody has even come close to this. Had the chicken parm with spaghetti and rose, and the gnocchi carbonara. I m at a loss for a specific description, it was just perfect, I wouldn t change a thing. Their commitment to doing things properly really shows in the flavours of everything I had. I can t wait to try the rest of their menu.

Chef Francesca at Bacio Trattoria cooks the most authentic Italian food in Barrie. You will be transported to Italy when you visit! We went for our wedding anniversary a few days ago and had the most delicious Beef Carpaccio, Burrata, Pasta Carbonara, and Egg Pasta with cherry tomatoes followed by Baba au Rhum with Gelato for dessert. All paired with a very nice Caposaldo Chianti. The food and service were meraviglioso! Vegetarian options: Chef Francesca will accommodate vegetarians. Its best to let her know when you book your reservation. Parking: Free street parking after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and holidays. Paid street parking 9-5 on weekdays.

Best authentic Italian restaurant in Barrie! Stopped in with my sister quick while i was visiting Barrie, food was amazing, staff was warm and friendly and overall it was amazing. Will definitely be returning! Also, my sister cannot have gluten/dairy and they were able to cater to her and still make her fresh Carbonara Ordered: Cannelloni, GF/DF Carbonara, espresso martinis and limoncello spritz, All 10/10 and was craving the flavours of the pasta after i left!

I have been there a few times for both public dining and private events. The staff have been courteous and have even made suggestions when asked. The rice balls are absolutely delicious. My top 3 personal favourites are the penne alla vodka ,as is the potato pizza ( not the menu name) and the margherita pizza. Highly recommend Bacio as a place to go with both family or friends.

Food was amazing. Portion size perfect. Prices way to hight, for coffee & deserts. 1 inch square of Tiramisu $13.00, with 2 9oz glasses of Chardonnay was $32, very small Cappuccino $6.50 total $93.23. I would still recommend if your will to pay higher prices fir Coffee and Dessert.

Extremely disappointing meal. Margherita pizza with 1 sad lonely basil leaf on 1 slice of the pizza. Bruschetta was garlic bread with a side marinara sauce. The pasta was extremely basic. Never ordering from here again.

Cannot recommend this place enough!! We went to Italy twice this year and the food here is on par with typical delicious italian food. We had the calabrese pizza, polpette and supplì. De-li-cious!!! The service was amazing as well. We live 6 hours from Barrie but might come back because we already cannot wait to watch here again.

THE BAD: Servers are rude and assume you know everything on their menu... Some of the utensils were not clean and had left over food residue The entire place smells like a old gym locker. And worst of all... The food. Ordered garlic cheese bread, waiter brought some platter with everything EXCEPT garlic cheese bread. and when me and my daughter ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo the sauce was literally like water... And tasted bad. The Good: Nothing Absolutely nothing.

Simply awful. I brought my son who wanted some Italian. He wanted Eastside Marios but I suggested local, family owned, you know, legit. But was I wrong. We were greeted by a very friendly young man and were quickly situated in our table, the table was sticky from poor cleaning, mind you it was 4:00pm on Sunday and had just opened for dinner service, immediately after we were offer focacia bread, that was a very nice gesture and I do appreciate that, but the bread was hard and cold as if being left outside for hours. It would have immensely benefited from having it warmed a few seconds on the oven (if they have one, I doubt). We were offered a garaffe of water and served water by another young man, that was nice too, no issues here, menus were brought promptly and we were made to feel welcome, so despite the cold, stale bread, and tacky tabletop things were moving along at a reasonable pace given the fact the place was empty and the atmosphere sterile from the lack of trattoria minucia, which the establishment fancies itself to be. So we dive in to discover what goods we could find on the menus selection. My son immediately discover a typo which was a bit of fun thing to see him do as Ive never seen him do that before. A minor thing that could and happens more often than not. OJ JIUCE. Well he is all for lasagna and I was very excited to find black truffle linguini. After deciding on our entrees I asked the server about the truffle pasta if it was sliced table side. The answer was not, rather it was a paste sauce dish, so despite my better judgment I consented cus I have not had blk truffle dish in a while. My son ordered the OJ JIUCE and I order the 9oz Masi Pinot Grigio a personal favorite. And well this is where things just went to the crapper quickly. We got our drinks by yet another person, no fault here on part of the restaurant they had expected a table of seven that canceled last minute as told by our server in passing, the lady from the bar was strangely shaky and I couldnt understand what she shaked so much. At any rate we had our drinks and my son tasted his OJ and was surprised how sweet it was and offered me to try it. I did, it was from the big box store and not what you would expect from a restaurant that is charging top dollar for OJ. My $13 dl glass of pilot grigio was watered down I swear it was, or at least was not Masi. So Im already not happy but I only see my son once a week and dont want to ruin the mood we had going on through the day. 15 mins and food arrives, again timing is good no issues here, but the shaking lady is so uncomfortable with her own job is pain to watch. The plates are placed and immediately Im trying really hard hold my disappointment, she offers grated parmesan cheese, which is not real parmesan, perhaps a locally made pecorino and nothing to with Grana Padano, the pasta, a mountain worth, Is a papardelle with regular sliced Zeta buton mushrooms, cold and watery. I mean watery, no sauce, no paste to be found. It is not only cold and undercooked, the pasta breaks in my mouth as if eating wet cardbox. It has been more that 18 years since I return a dish. Well today was that day. I was not willing to pay $38. For a deficient dish. I call our server and tell him the dish is not on par. He asked if there was something wrong to wish I answered ten things but just didnt like it and wanted to take it back. Well to no surprise the owner who all the white was sitting at the end of the bar micromanaging the 4 members of her staff came right away to ask ( rather correct me) what was wrong with the dish. I told her it was undercooked, watery, and no paste was found on the sauce (if you can call that a sauce) After being educated on her imaginary saviness we were left alone and allow to sip my insipid wine, while son very affected by my sudden reaction took to eating his again sauce starved lasagna. Dont even get me started on the Lasagna suffice to say that I felt awful for my son and he just finished his dish as fast as possible. At the end the bill was $57 +$10tip

The worst ceviche I have eaten in my whole life - and I am Peruvian, so I have eaten many. Very little fish, overcooked with the lime juice, terribly salty and the sweet potato was old. And I paid dearly for it as well. Never again...

Francesca was amazing and her food is great. The cacio e pepe is awesome and a large portion, the Sophia Loren and Caprese salads were fabulous. We now have a go to place for authentic Roman Italian in Barrie.

I ve ordered online 3 times. Order cancelled each time, sometimes 30 min later and had no other options. If you don t want to serve the online market take your restaurant off the site. All you have accomplished is turning me away from ever darkening your door.

The eggplant panini is all that I hoped for (I barely see eggplant being offered in panini) and it was nicely breaded. I enjoyed the slight crunch in the sandwich! I never got to go in but my family members said the owner of the restaurant was really nice and took the time to give recommendations. Edit: I finally got to dine in here! My family members were not wrong, the staff and the chef here are extremely friendly. We found out that the seafood platter was not available during our day of visit because the crabs and lobsters shipment has not arrived, but the chef came out and told us he could adjust the pricing and customize the seafood platter just for us, which was honestly so nice of him. The seafood platter is a bang for your buck. Most seafood platters are pretty straightforward and bland, but the chef really made the flavoring and spices interesting in a good way! (The oysters especially) Not only did the chef make our dining out experience pleasant, he also gave us a small gift to bring back home, ensuring that dining-in is just as exciting. I have been using the spice blend everyday and it goes well with everything. Many thanks!

I do not recommend Bacio Trattoria for a few reasons. The prices are decent, the food was ok. But the blonde hair manager/owner? woman absolutely ensured we would never return. I ve never had the displeasure of experiencing someone treat us so horribly. My husband ordered the gnocchi carbonara and the guinciale was burnt so bad the meat pieces were solidly hard. She asked how our meal was and politely my husband told her that mine was good but his however was not. She says that s how the dish is supposed to be cooked, which if that s how you believe it should be done, fine. We don t believe that and thought the dish was poor and not prepared properly. While she removed the item from our bill, we were spoken to so rudely and made to feel shamed that we didn t enjoy her burnt garbage. One bad dish wouldn t deter me from coming back but what can is knowing my money is going to a horribly unpleasant and appalling person. Being yelled at and spoken to in a confrontational manner when it was not warranted is completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favour and try Il Buco for good Italian food in Barrie.

My Grandmother kept saying that it was one of the best meals she has ever had in a restaurant- we all were in blissful food comas. My family spent the New Years Eve at Bacio Trattoria restaurant and it was magical. We had an amazing family dinner and great music. We felt like in home as everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The Chef and staff did everything to make us feel so special. It has been one of the most beautiful NYE we have ever had. The food was delicious and plenty. So many exquisite flavours. I could not imagine any other better place to spend such a special night. Thank you so much to everyone who make us feel so special. A taste of Italy right in Barrie! My husband and I went to Italy last summer and we were reminded of the culture and food at Bacio. The food was absolutely delicious - the focaccia was so soft, the pasta noodles were the perfect al dante, and the margherita pizza is one of the BEST I ve ever had (and I get one at every Italian restaurant); it was especially the best local margherita pizza hands down! The atmosphere is welcoming, including a visit from the head chef/owner. I can t believe we haven t tried Bacio sooner. We will definitely be back!

We recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this restaurant. The fare is Italian with antipasti, pizza, panini, tremezzini and pasta courses available for lunch. I ordered a prosciutto panini which was accompanied by a house salad which was absolutely delicious and my husband chose a pasta with guanciale in a rose sauce which he also enjoyed. The wait person was quite pleasant and efficient and the food arrived quickly. We will definitely return to this lovely restaurant.

We have gone there for dinner a few times on our own and also experienced the Wine Journeys Wine Tasting there and have never been disappointed. Bacio Trattoria recently remodeled and it looks great. Chef is very accommodating especially for anyone with dietary needs. First Class!

Food was incredible, perfectly balanced ingredients. The whole cloves of roasted garlic in the Penne Asiago was sooooo good. The chef came and offered us drinks on the house after our meal. He was very personable and shared his very own blend of seasoning salt for us to take home. The service was deplorable. So slow. Was close to 15 minutes before we got served a cocktail. Got our meals finally and waited 15 minutes before the wine showed up. The mussels were cold and the pennelavodka tasted like it came out of a can of Heinz s spaghetti. Dirty plates stayed on the table until we finally cleared them away ourselves and left then on top of the bar.The lamb was good apparantly but the only thing that was good in my opinion was the bread. But you cannot fill up on that now can you. Will never go back.

If I could give zero stars for this place I would. My partner and I went here for dinner expecting it to be amazing, but it has gone absolutely down hill. The pasta was flavourless and dry, with absolutely no seasoning. The same story goes for my meal except that they tried to season it with what seemed like a pound of salt. We spent over $100 for a meal I could have got at east side Mario s, and probably would have been better there. Absolutely will not be going back here and would not recommend it to anyone.

What a wonderful meal. Went for dinner, shared buffalo mozzarella, margarita pizza and tagliatelle tarrtufo. Food was wonderfully timed, fresh and exceptional. Owner brought some bread and olives to start which were a lovely addition. Dietary restrictions: Friend had a nut allergy and they took precautions to ensure she was as safe.

Fantastic food and service. Both our server and the chef were extremely friendly and took the time to greet us and make recommendations. Let me start with their complementary cheese bread appetizer. It was baked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Expectations were high across the table after the cheese bread and I m happy to say there was no disappointment to follow. The pizza crusts were amazing and had great flavour. The pastas were perfectly al dente and very consistently so (yes I stole a bite from everyone s plate because everything looked so good). Bacio Trattoria clearly holds itself to a high standard both in terms of food and service. I look forward to returning and supporting this gem of a local business.

On vacation from Pennsylvania. Absolutely delicious. We had the caprese salad, margherita pizza and white clams and spaghetti to die for. If you haven t tried this place do yourself a favor. Thanks Kenzie and Francesca for the amazing service and food.

If you want a true, real deal Italian meal this is the best place to visit in the GTA. Toronto does not have a single establishment that is as close in terms of food quality and service. Very authentic and everything made from scratch. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming, classy, and very clean. Francesca and Will who run the establishment are amazing people and could not have asked for better service. Next time I m around the area I will be making a return. 5/5 keep it up.

New to Bacio, stopping in Barrie overnight and looking for a dinner spot brought us here. All aspects - ambiance, menu choices, service and food, were all exceptional. Future travel plans will be altered to accommodate return visits. Ratings should permit a + to properly reflect our experience in this establishment.

Authentic Italian food

We did just a little stop in Barrie for a night and we had a stop at Bacio Trattoria to have an excellent dinner. Le chef ainsi que toute son équipe ont été fabuleux et très sympathiques. The people we re signing while working and our meals were excellent! Thank you!

This place was absolutely fantastic, me and my wife were driving through Barrie and stumbled on this place, Francesca welcomed us with open arms, the food was exceptional, we recommend this place hands down.

From the moment I made a phone call to make a reservation for my mothers birthday dinner, the lady I spoke to was amazing and they were able to accommodate our group. The restaurant itself is very nice and when we got there we were greeted so well. The service was amazing and the attention was top notch. We all loved our meals and our son who is three absolutely loved everything. The staff was extra special with him and we couldnt be more grateful. We had a marvelous time together and enjoyed all of it. The ambience, the staff, the food, the drinks, all were great. Well definitely be coming back and recommending Bacio Trattoria to friends and family.

The Chefs really enjoy their craft and take pride in what they do. Great food and great quality of ingredients. The house pasta with flat noodle and creamy cheese sauce was the perfect blend of creamy and salty, and I would highly recommend upgrading your side to try this. The veal and the chicken were good portions and did not disappoint. Great staff too!

Francesca and William magically transported us back to the wonderful sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Italy. Being Italian ourselves, we are incredibly picky about where we frequent to dine - and this is definitely a favourite! Fabulous food in a cozy nook with plenty of smiles (and even hugs - grazie, Bella Francesca! :) Visit - you definitely won t be disappointed. Hands down best Italian restaurant in Barrie!

The food, the staff and the atmosphere made for an incredible dining experience! I would recommend Bacio Trattoria to anyone visiting Barrie!

Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Lets start with the booking. I made the reservation two weeks in advance. As of Saturday, the date of the reservation, I got a phone call around 2:30 asking if I could move the 6:30 reservation up an hour since they had a party of 30 for 7:00. I said yes but in hindsight should have cancelled. As for the meal the Veal Marsala was very tough, cut thick, and full gristle as shown in my photo. Didnt want to complain, just wanted to get the Hell out.

Service was excellent and rapid, no wait time between the time the cook put it on the shelf and the time it was on the table. It was great to hear the cooks laughing and discussing with the servers. I enjoy the atmosphere created by the joyful and freiendly relationship between the staff members. The food makes me want to go back and savour another dish. Very tasteful and of excellent size portion.

Went with family on a Monday night and it was busy! We sat at the bar and had a fabulous time!

the staff were very warm and welcoming and the food was even better! The bread they served was amazing followed by probably the most deliciously fresh caprese salad I ve ever had, can t wait to come back and try more from their menu. My mom and I are both from Toronto and have eaten a lot of authentic Italian, my mom (who got the seafood pasta) said it was the best Italian dish she s ever eaten !

My favour Barrie restaurant. Great food, great service and William had created great atmosphere. The music is lovely and not to loud in order to have great conversation. Do yourself a favour and visit this place. Vegetarian options: Chef William would accommodate vegetarian options, both my daughter and son in law are Vegan and they had nice pasta with salsa arrabiata.

A great classic atmosphere to an elevated Italian experience. Highly recommend as a must try if youve never been.

What a gem of a place, right here in downtown Barrie. We had dinner there last night , first time - recommended by friends and it was delizioso. This place is a vibe. I loved how the music wasn t too loud. People can enjoy bar section. Staff were really friendly and food was amazing with authentic Italian taste.

My wife and I celebrated my birthday dinner here. The atmosphere was amazing. Our service was fantastic and we were welcome the second we stepped foot through the door. Having recently been to Italy and tried food all over the country I believe this restaurant does Italian food great justice. We will be back. Grazie.

Food was tasty but pretty expensive for what it is. It was also extremely loud when we were there. I was kind of expecting an intimate night but instead it gave me a bar vibe.

Just WOW....nice little authentic Italian restaurant downtown Barrie on Dunlop E. The girl who served us our food and drink was so kind with us. She knows the perfect menu the offer and she is right when she told us: chose what you would like to have and no worries it will be good and tasty. It actually was bang on on taste and the owner/Chef took the time to thank us for coming and we did the same be telling him that we could taste the love and our meals and the nice garlic bread with mozza and olives compliment of the house.

The experience was amazing. Great food and ambience...they treated us not only like family...but with some time and space to talk. I am half deaf - having loud music to shout over dinner...so old. Music level was just right level. The seafood risotto - silky and sublimely sumptuous. Best I have had in years. Go. Eat here. You will be back because deserve to be treated well.

We visited Bacio Trattoria for the first time this past weekend and just wow. Incredible food, freshly cooked to order, fresh ingredients. Alicia our server was phenomenal. She was very knowledgeable about the items and frequently checked in on us. Personally coming from a hospitality background, we were very impressed with this overall service & style that is offered here. Chef also comes out to serve and chat with guests. What a wonderful experience. We will definitely return!

Great food, awesome service. Called ahead for Octopus and it was fantastic .The chef came out from the kitchen for an after dinner lemoncello. Highly recommend

Great ambiance and food! Second time going here and we first fell in love with the grilled octopus that we had to have it again. Just request it ahead of time (2 days before). Also enjoyed the mussels as an app. The portion is enough for two. Oh and the chef comes out to personally greet guests and see how the guests are dining. Then after our meal, he came out and shared a lemoncello shot with me and my boyfriend. Superb!

Always amazing service. Will (owner) always makes sure to touch every table and show that he cares about each and every guest that comes through the door. Excellent Italian food. We have had the take out twice this month. Once for a birthday and then our wedding anniversary this past weekend. A little expensive but thats the way it is everywhere now. We will just have to go less often.

Sorry, no photos, I ate it too fast. This was one of the best restaurants of my life. Best in Barrie, most likely. Expect modest, but not insubstantial portions made with delicate care for a price that reflects the quality. The bar makes some matching drinks. Enjoy!

Fantastic experience! original Italian cuisine. Both the staff and the kitchen are absolutely welcoming and polite. I went back to Italy for an evening! During dinner I had tears !!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We suggest! Go there to experience a 100% Italian meal !!!

Seafood risotto was excellent and the lamb was very tender.

First time at the restaurant. Very pleasant place , with genuine servers. The food was to die for, would definitely go again and definitely recommend:) Drinks were made perfectly. We were happy and so were our tummies. Also we loved how one of the chefs came out to see how the food was . That was the cherry on-top of the cake . Very professional. Go check it out !

Tried this restaurant today after seeing all the beautiful pictures of the food and ultra high reviews but it didn t live up to our expectation. The food was so so and nothing special, maybe because we ordered so many different dishes, however the staff were very nice and service was very good. Not going to discredit the fact they got great reviews so perhaps the food just didn t suit our taste bud. Maybe it wasn t our day but either way we still wishes this family and their business do well here in Barrie.
