Good food. Good portions. Plenty of variety on the menu. Server was Brandon, he was great. We will be back to try the dinner menu next

Not my cup of tea....maybe its yours.

Stopped in for some lunch, had an okay meal. The service was excellent, even taking into account that there was only one person working front of house who did everything by herself. She was very friendly and attentive, and answered any questions we had promptly. The food itself was only average, with the kitchen making some odd choices in entree pairings. The fish tacos came standard with plain white rice as a side, no beans, corn, or seasoning, which I have never seen before served with tacos at a restaurant. The fries topped with cheese and gravy is also made with shredded cheese and not cheese curds, which is somewhat disappointing since they call it poutine on the menu. All in all, the amazing service might have me coming back again to try some of their dinner entrees, but with numerous other options just down the street, I probably wont be going soon.

We had a great dinner here. So happy to see them in Barrie. I used to travel to the Collingwood location often! Great portions and reasonably priced for a sit down meal. I plan to visit again and again.

This was the first time we have eaten at this location. Our server, Brandon, wS excellent and the cooks very accommodating. My wife has some dietary restriction and very few restaurants we accommodate her. However, here, food is made insight and they looked after her needs. The food isnt just tastey thete is plenty of it too. All at price that didnt require a mortgage. Definitely be eating here again

Brandon served us a few weeks ago. We had such a great experience with the service and the food that we came back. Brandon served us again. He makes the experience relaxed and enjoyable! I can t say enough about the quality of food and the variety of choices! Every option is top notch gourmet! We will be back!

Fantastic! This was my first experience at an Iron Skillet - and I left absolutely stuffed, totally fat and happy! The food was amazing and our server (Brendon) was very hospitable, knowledgeable, passionate and was able to have a conversation and joke around. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend the Iron Skillet to anyone looking for great food, great service and a great atmosphere.

Amazing food

Delicious food, we had the stuffed yorkie and the special yorkie with hunter sauce and the special mac and cheese with lobster. All were delicious and huge portions. A little on the pricy side but still worth trying. Two of 3 of us brought home leftovers.

We wanted somewhere fun to go for dinner and this was it. Clever cocktails, huge portions of great food, and a lovely waiter named Brandon. We will enjoy our dinner again tomorrow because we had plenty to take home as leftovers. If youre in Barry give this place a shot you wont be disappointed.

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. We have been twice now and it has become our favoirite restaurant. Brandon our server was friendly, quick and efficient. They have specials everyday. The schnitzel is sooooo good. We will be back for Prime Rib Sundays cheers!

Brandon nailed my drink and shot! He made me feel quite special on my Birthday today, especially not being from this area. I would definetly recommend and when I come back in this neck of the woods, Ill spin by for a drink! My food was also delicious, blackened chicken clubhouse! Totally worth it!

Dropped in for lunch which was perfect. Homemade fries & fresh turkey sandwich with coleslaw. Best gluten free bread. I am new to Barrie and visiting the many restaurants this city has to offer. This place is a gem! Excellent food and service. Portions are BIG- took half my meal home. Honestly one of the best ceasar salads I have ever had! And the Chicken Parmesan with Alfredo penne was delicious! Highly recommend

Had a Redneck Burger, over cooked, dry tasteless. The coleslaw, awful, fries were ok. Our server was delightful & its very clean and inviting.

Nate was so attentive and top notch service all the way! And he handled everything by home self no hosts no bus boy or girl at least at front of house! And rhenCjef To y came out to make sure everything was up to mine and other customers satisfaction!!! I had the Red Neck Mac N Cheese to die for work scratch pulled pork!!! Just get here and eat!!! Bevvies r delicious too!! Especially the Black raspberries Mojito! It ll be a date at least once a month . This is the place to eat. The Iron Skillet Barrie on Bayfield St.... Tony makes you feel right at home, he and his server Brandon were top notch and we could have chatted all night like family. Best date ever and I take credit for the pick lol. Tony brought out a sample of Hungarian goulash because we all talked about food so much and learning to cook on his travels... and omg it slaps..its the real deal. Definitely not your Newfie or North American goulash! So rich and tender!!! I almost ordered one to go because I dont know how I can wait to taste that again. The French Onion soup did not disappoint, hit all the marks for a deep flavorful broth... and loads of onion, cheese and croutons...its a meal on its own. Jambalaya.....get out of here. The flavor of the shrimp and sausage...the tomato right into the rice...you know what youre doing!!!! Well be back and I want all the specials because while I have no regrets about what we ate.... I will dream of that parm crusted pickerel special that walked by. Portions... come hungry because Tony is feeding you for real. Thanks Tony!

Just had dinner with my wife. The service was great but the meal was very disappointing. Will not be dining at this restaurant again. Had the Wiener schnitzel which was tasteless and meat was tough, vegetables were cold. Waitress offered us a free desert after we told her about our meal and brought us a sharper knife. I had dinner in the iron skillet. The had the daily special of shrimp skillet that had mushrooms, tomatoes and onions. It also came with ceasar salad. Brandon the server recommended it so I ordered it. It was perfect flavor and filling. I did order sweet potato fires on the side. The brewed ice tea was also good.

We heard such great reviews about the other iron skillet locations, that we decided to give the new location in Barrie a try. We were definitely not disappointed. We were greeted by Brandon (the server) who was super knowledgeable and very friendly. We could hear him also answering any of the surrounding tables questions in a very authentic and professional way. The fish and chips were huge and very delicious. We will for-sure be back.

Been several times always a great meal but today the waitress screwed up my order brought me wrong food. Rather than send it back i boxed it up and brought it to my grandaughter.

We were in Barrie for an appointment (we live more north) and decided to have dinner before we left and so glad we decided on Iron Skillet Barrie. They have been open a short time now and HIGHLY recommend. Food was amazing and fresh, quality and service was top notch. The owner came out to make sure everything was good and was so kind to chat to. We will be back anytime we come back into Barrie. A must try!

Brandon was my waiter amazing service and great attitude and personality definitely will be coming back food was just as good. I usually don t review but my experience was too good not to.

Came here with my partner, as we heard that this chain was featured on You Gotta Eat Here . I got the stuffed yorkshire pudding and my partner got the chicken parmesan. The stuffed yorkshire pudding looked good on the menu, but it was seriously lacking in flavour. It was served with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies on the side with no seasoning at all. The yorkshire pudding itself was quite dry and just tasted like stale bread. My partners chicken parmesan was a bit better than the stuffed yorkshire pudding, but both dishes were not worth the price ($28 & $24 respectively). The quality & presentation of the food resembled food that youd get at either a school or hospital cafeteria. The only redeeming factor was the portion sizes (they were huge), but since the food left much to be desired, we were not super excited about the leftovers. It was a full house when we were dining in, yet they only had 2 waitresses working, so the service was a bit slow as well (although our waitress was friendly). Overall, by far the worst food weve had in all of Barrie. We will not be returning.

We had taken our dog for a groom at nearby Petsmart and walked over for dinner while she was there. We were thoroughly impressed! We were sat quickly, our waitress was super nice, answered a couple questions about the menu since we were newbies, and our food was brought out so fast! I had the carbonara and my husband had the fish and chips. The chicken and bacon ratio to the noodles was INSANE in the best way. My husband s 2 pieces of fish were standard but were quite large and he wasn t left with a giant plate of fries as filler. Their homemade iced tea is more akin to the southern States version of sweet tea (which I like- but be aware in case you don t like that). We will definitely be back, need to try some dessert next time!

We have driven by The Iron Skillet many times; however, it was not until our son gave us a gift card that we stopped in. So happy that we did! Brandon was our server. We were seated in a booth right away. Drinks and straight to Mains. Brandon patiently described each special, as there were several. We chose the Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding and a special - the Crusted Pickerel with a dill and leek sauce, with rice and fresh veggies. It was all SO good, that we forgot to take pics until we were almost finished. Our biggest disappointment at restaurants is typically portion size. Not the case at The Iron Skillet. The prices are very fair and the portion sizes are huge. Other guests food was being served and it all looked amazing - same generous portion sizes. Everything on our plate was impeccably-seasoned and cooked to perfection! We have leftovers for tomorrow. This is atypical, as we both have hearty appetites. Of course, the Funnel Cake Poutine had us at first glance. Dont let the location dissuade you from trying out this hidden gem. Our entire experience - the atmosphere, service and food - will ensure that we are repeat customers. Already looking forward to going back!

We went to the Iron Skillet to try it out and will definitely be back. The Caesar salad was huge and delicious, the mussels were fresh - the broth was soo good that I asked for a spoon. My husband had the steak which was cooked to his request and very tasty. Waiter was attentive and cheerful.

This was our first time. We were very happy with the service and the food which were both excellent. Brandon, even though extremely busy taking drink and food orders and tending all the customers on his own, was nicer than any servers weve had in a very long time. The fish and chips and the chicken schnitzel were excellent. This is our new go to place.

I had the poutine, it was probably the best poutine Ive ever had...the fries and gravy are so good!!! Brandon was serving me, he has a great personality and made me feel welcomed and checked on the table often to make sure we were satisfied with the food! Ill be coming back soon!

My Mum and I decided to check this place out with no idea what to expect... and it was amazing! I couldnt decide what to get so the server helped me and at one point the chef came to check in on me to make sure I enjoyed it - which I very much did!! I cant wait to come back. My mum and I try to go out for dinner at least once a month and we think this is going to be our new place :D

Never fails to impress me . Its the fist time eating at this location as I normally frequent t the Collingwood location. The food is absolutely amazing and made with love. Service unlike your typical bBarrie restaurant is personable and friendly. If you are looking for a fantastic place to take the family that has that family welcoming atmosphere look no further. .will definitely be returning for some of Tonies cooking.

Delicious dinner. My family and I all had unique meals, and they were all delicious and hot. Mashed potatoes were so so good. Liver was tender and not bitter.

The menu offers a lot of variety however food quality is lacking. Mussels were stinky and def not fresh. They offered free shrimp as alternative which were good. Overall impressive wait staff (except for stating their mussels are so fresh when obv were not!). Chef is def not a chef. Flavour lacking in good. Had seafood schnitzel and it had hard particles in it). Would not return here.

I won a gift card on Fresh 93.1, which was the perfect excuse to try this place! The food was fresh and perfectly spiced, I tried the carbonara as it was a chef specialty. It did not disappoint! Branden was our server, and he was knowledgeable and patient as we wanted to eat our apps before ordering. I would highly recommend this place! Kid-friendliness: Lots of high chairs in the front, didnt ask about the kid menu this time though!

A friend and I visited for lunch on Saturday, two weeks to the day of when they opened. Well, what a pleasant experience! Great atmosphere, fantastic, food and wonderful service. The menu is very comprehensive with something for everyone. We had the bruschetta, steak sandwich and the chicken schnitzel, and a glass of wine each. All were delicious, and the schnitzel, for a sandwich, was massive. Great selection of wines and other cocktails definitely give this place a try when in Barrie!

Really not worth the money Staff is really nice. The owner, great guy. But you can make better food at home.

Just opened 2 weeks ago, so decor is in need of a little work, but the menu is extensive and varied. We had dinner and everything was delicious!! Generous portions, well flavoured and presented. The staff perfect. Thanks. We will be back!

The staff, owner and restaurant are great truly. I had the Cajun club sandwich with fries and a side of gravy. I had high hopes as I love Cajun but this fell short. Had the meal as takeout. The fries were nice and crispy but overpowered by too much black pepper. (And I do like black pepper) The club sandwich was regular slices of sandwich bread toasted, with unfortunately very dry white charred chicken. I think there might have been a sauce but it was impossible to tell it either evaporated or wasnt there to begin with. I needed water between bites to chew. The bacon though tasty was over cooked so you could nearly break it to powder between your fingers. The gravy was a beautiful colour but had that instant mix celery salt taste that I dislike. Im sure this was a one-off, but I am unwilling to pay another $25 to find out.

We love the Iron Skillet in Collingwood and Wasaga and we were thrilled to see one open close to home on Bayfield st in Barrie. Brandon was an excellent server, the food was fresh and delicious we had the Chicken jambalaya and Mexican Schnitzel ( it was a special) all excellent.
