The customer service is awkward as she doesn t smile or talk and the food was not good. The rice was undercooked. It was actually crunchy. I will not be returning to this place again. Too bad we were looking forward to a good dinner as it was my son s birthday.

There are not too many tasty places in Barrie, and I prefer island/West Indian food. That jerk on the grill is top tier and I dont say that about too many things. Im not personally Jamaican (Haitian background), but sharing the jerk chicken with my Jamaican friends felt this was stupendous! Beautiful job!

I must say. I was very skeptical coming here, only because Ive been VERY disappointed with the oxtail Ive encountered at different Caribbean/Jamaican restaurants in Barrie. I ordered a small oxtail, and even though the customer service could be better to be quite honest, the food was BOMB. I recommend their oxtail all the way. Never tried anything else, but will DEFINETLY go back when ever Im off work to get some oxtail during the week. Fantastic jerk pork.

Awesome flavours Goat Roti. HUGE size! Pepper sauce is nice and spicy. The only suggestion would be to cook the goat a bit longer for a more tender bite.

This is hands down the best Caribbean restaurant in Barrie! The food is always fresh and well seasoned. The customer service had me wanting to stay and talk with the workers the entire time! The music and atmosphere is very welcoming. I will definitely recommend this to others in the future!

Worst customer service ever! There was one young lady who was so rude! I asked her some questions and she rolled her eyes, and gave me attitude! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Was here on Canada Day they were grilling out front, even had a DJ. Everyone was very nice and said hi. I ve been in Barrie for 11 years (from Toronto) and this brought me back to my upbringing by little Jamaica (Eglinton West). You can taste the grill in the food, quality is the best I ve had in years. Thanks for staying true to the roots <3 highly recommend and will be back!

If you re looking to feel at home then this is the place to be in my opinion. Everything there is authentic from the food to the people and the vibes. The atmosphere here on Saturday s is incomparable, Hands down best Caribbean restaurant in Barrie.

I ve been coming here since they ve opened a few years ago and to see them still thriving even after the pandemic shows that they re still here for a reason. My go to meal is the stew chicken with rice and pease, with a side of coleslaw & some pepper sauce on the side and a Tropical Rythm pineapple ginger to wash it down. I m telling you It s chef s kiss type of delicious. Every thing I ve had so far is always been good and packed with flavour theirs festival (kinda fried like dumplings) are amazing. They are also kid friendly my 3 yr old and the lady with the red hair love each other, lol it s so adorable. Great authentic Jamaican family type atmosphere, arrive alone or with friends and family either way you won t be disappointed.

Goat soup was good, Jerk Chicken meal needed some vegetables(steamed or raw) on the side to enhance the nutritional value, instead of just rice and chicken. Festival was light and nicely done with a good balance of the ingredients, but too expensive. Suggestions: The Place could be cleaner with less flies buzzing around and staff could be more organized. Too much chaos, no order, resulting in long wait time to be served. Example, one person takes paymens and others serve the meal. Honestly this place used to be AMAZING but all that attitude isn t necessary nowadays, things are hard out here so I don t want to be giving my money to a store that can t even be nice to me just cuz I m white

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. This is diabolical. There s no menu or prices so when you call in to pick up one day you ll get charged a different price. The food is below subpar (inedible than an all inclusive). The workers could use less attitude and more seasoning in their food. My husband and I had our mixed feelings about this place and decided to still give it another try. We were so wrong.. the curry chicken was drier than the Sahara desert and when I asked for roti, it was given to us bagged frozen for us to heat it on our own so disappointed

We were very impressed! We have tried many Jamaican restaurants over the almost 11 years in Barrie, this is by far the best one. My husband being Jamaican and us both from Toronto its nice to have some authentic Jamaican food north of the city. We definitely will be back!

Boyfriend was in yesterday for the first time (his usual go to is Irie Jerk) We discovered this place while driving through Downtown, and he decided to stop in and give it a try. He is not one to ever waste food, but with the exception of what we fed to the dogs, the entire meal was thrown out. The chicken was so undercooked...There is no way this went unnoticed by staff ! Do better before you make someone sick.

Real flavourful and authentic .. very generous portions too so good Edit: the only thing good here is the curry goat. Buy a large chicken soup? Don t expect any chicken or .. anything but YAM. When I complained the next time I went they laughed and said there wasn t no meat left. So tell someone that. The broth was salty and not nice either so a waste of money. Do not waste your money by ordering from this store, they are very disrespectful and do not care about the customers satisfaction. Today i ordered food from here off skip the dishes and they totally disregarded what i selected and served me basically whatever the hell they felt like. I ordered a fry chicken dinner with white rice and coleslaw, i was served rice n peas, No coleslaw. Biggest disappointment was the curry goat, i chose pasta salad as my side but instead i was served rice n peas again, no pasta salad and the leftover scrapings of curry goat, maybe 5 tiny pieces of meat if so much. I find that to be very disrespectful since i did pay $12 plus tax per order of food. I separated all the meat and bones to show exactly what i recieved that made me so furious, the rest is rice and extra gravy.... also this is not the first time they have packed my order wrong.

I used Jerk Marshall to cater for my wedding and the only better choice I made was my groom. People are STILL talking about how amazing the food was. Both owners serves the food and the service, on top of rhe food was excellent. The quality was beyond amazing. I HIGHLY recommend them for any and all functions or even just drop in for a bite to eat, you certainly will not regret your choice. 100/10 recommend.

Disappointing, I will not go back. As a Canadian/Jamaican, this is my food. My first visit I ordered 2 meals. 1- oxtail with rice and peas, oxtail seasoning flavor was very mild, slight tomato with edge of spice/pimento. Not seasoned correctly or nicely. Slightly undercooked. The extra gravy I requested was greasy. Not enjoyable at all. The rice had a few tiny peas/ beans , not the usual red peas, and the amount of peas was skimpy. The rice was over spiced and not the correct flavor for rice and peas. Large serving , huge amount of rice, and Serving size of oxtail was not in proportion to the amount of rice. Cost around $20 incl tax Meal 2- Large curry goat roti. It looked so huge.. only to unwrap it and find layer upon layer of roti (pastry) full of potatoes and contained a few tiny pieces of goat meat a bit stringy and overcooked. The flavor was satisfactory, though it was a bit on the dry side. Again the proportion of meat was very small in comparison to the amount of potatoes. They should call this a potato roti. Cost $16.00 Tineals Patty-cost $3.50 (cost is 3.00 around the corner at the bottom of Bayfield St for the exact same thing) The above food cost over $40.00 including tax - what a burn, and is a poor representation for those that are not familiar with good Jamaican food.

Listen, the place is one of those great hole in the wall type. Chicken roti is one of my fav dishes and this one SLAPS! I ve tried roti all over and I am telling you this was one of the most flavorful, juicy, chicken curry Ive had in a long time!!! The portion was large and the roti the buss up was perfection not to thick and soaked up all the goodness. TRY IT!

Just had a wonderful meal, excellent atmosphere, good food lots of options.

Food was delicious, service was awful. I came in looking to try something new as I had never tried Jamaican food before, and the female cashier was so impatient and rude. Made it a somewhat uncomfortable experience. Also, I kept having to pick bones out of the jerk chicken, which kind of ruined the meal for me. Please debone the chicken before cooking it.

Was denied service because I have a service dog. I am visually impaired and have a registered Canine Vision Guide Dog to assist me. As I entered, I was immediately told No dogs allowed I then tried to explain that my dog is a registered service dog and she is allowed to be inside. All I got was a repeat of No dogs allowed in an angrier tone. I carry ID for my service dog and my own CNIB ID but the worker was clearly not interested in listening so I left .

Ive gotten takeout from here several times now and every time its been delicious. The jerk chicken is great, the brown stew chicken is rich and flavourful and the curry chicken roti is elite. You can tell the side salads (coleslaw and macaroni) are made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Overall portions are good and everything tastes like good home cooking. Cant wait to try more dishes.

One of my coworkers took five of us there for lunch. The food looked good and tasted even better. Delicious!!! The service was friendly and fast. They had tables to eat at but having to eat in take out containers was not my preference. They had some good Jamaican music and we enjoyed our lunch. Will definitely order food again.

Love the food!

We are new to barrie and decided to come try out their jerk and fried chicken. It was so fresh and the flavour was really great. One of the best meals I have had in awhile. We are use to eating Caribbean food in Toronto so we wanted a place we can call our new go to and I think we found it. It is also very clean which is something I look for when eating out. Can t wait to go back and try more.

I ve lived in Barrie for 3 years and have tried EVERY place that s opened and none of it has been actual Jamaican food until yesterday when I tried The Jerk Marshall. Ordered a large jerk chicken and large fried chicken and was definitely not disappointed! Be sure to ask for a side of extra oxtail gravy for your rice - not because you ll need it, just because you ll love it!

The Jerk Marshall has quickly become my #1 place for take out in Barrie. The food is consistently amazing with generous servings, the staff is super friendly, and the establishment is very clean. As others have said, make sure you get that ox-tail gravy!

Portions are properly sized as well. cant say enough good things about these amazing people! the customer service was a+ too!!! you cant go wrong here!!!!

Finally, after many visits, they got it right! The curried goat was boneless and potato free! The rice and peas are perfect in texture and savoury. The homemade soups are to die for; flavourful and comforting, everything homemade soup oughta be. I found the escovitch fish overpriced for the quality and be prepared to wait forever for the roti which turned out to be, in a couple of visits, too much dough in relation to filling. The jerk chicken is juicy and has sublime jerk flavour, the Real Deal! Give these guys a try.

Received 2 orders of Jerk and a Roti because of a food delivery error, it was absolutely delicious. Just enough spice for the milder people, would love to try it extra spicy. The friendly lady who helped me said it would be good, and it was. I will order again.

We just had take-out at The Jerk Marshall on Dunlop St. and it is absolutely delicious! My husband and I both ordered the jerk chicken because we had a craving for it, and the meal did not disappoint! Full of flavour and authentic taste. If youre buying jerk chicken, definitely have the rice and peas with it. If you order the white rice, then youre not wanting authentic Jamaican food!

OMG! This is the best Jamaican food EVER!! The oxtail was perfect done, fall off the bone. The jerk chicken has so much flavor and was so moist. The curried chicken and goat were awesome. This will be go my to place to eat in Barrie every time. Too bad they dont have a location in Aurora. Oh ya, the macaroni salad was delicious as well. Ill definitely be making the drive to Barrie more often because of THE MARSHALL

The jerk and roti are good. There hot sauce is tasty, spicy but too sweet for me (as is the coleslaw). The only thing that turned me off this place is the speed of service. If you dont mind waiting and can deal with antics of the walkins from the neighbourhood (last 2 times I went, some clients did not wear masks and staff could not control) of this locale, than I would give it a try. Serving sizes are good.

This is probably by far the best caribbean food in town. My favourite is definitely the stew chicken dish with pasta salad on the side. Buuuuuuuuuuuut... 1 thing I must add about this restaurant is that the service is absolutely horrible. Every time I step foot in that place, the young girl working serving food is probably the rudest person Ive ever met in my life. Im very surprised she still has a job and definitely shows how unprofessional this restaurant is. She serves customers with a very rude manner and clearly hates her job. I had the jerk chicken pasta (first time Ive seen that before) and my partner had curry chicken with rice and peas and we split an order of friend chicken.... SO DAMN GOOD! Would 100% recommend to anyone and everyone. Especially the pasta. Holy moly, its delicious.

Just moved to Barrie and was very excited to see a few Jamaican and Caribbean restaurants in town. I decided to try the Jerk Marshall and I was NOT disappointed. The large Jerk chicken meal was huge and very tasty. Great spice and very tender, and the coleslaw was really good. Definitely be back here again to get my fix. People were friendly and the price was great. Also the hot/pepper sauce was really nice.

I have been eating Jamaican food or west indies food for over 20 years.. I just bought a roti from here today and its the best roti i ever had.. From Toronto to Huntsville and wast ti west...hands down best ... Even the wrap is home made and so fluffy.. Absolute Perfection !!

Delicious authentic Caribbean food and friendly service. Theres a great selection on the menu to choose from and the prices are very reasonable plus the portions are fair. No dine in available but take out service is very quick and you can call ahead to place your order.

My favorite restaurant by far. The roti is amazing especially the jerk chicken roti! However all the food is good and the customer service is incredible. 100% would recommend

I went in there on a whim looking to try something different and decided to try the oxtail. Amazing. Huge portions and very flavourful. On top of all that, the place was extremely clean and there s a large selection of food to have. The staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming and I do believe I will be making a weekly visit in here from now on.

We decided to get the jerk chicken and the curried chicken roti. We are 1st time customers but will order again. Food was delicious and portions were amazing. Fairly priced!
