The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Barrie in Barrie

Went here for a work Christmas party recently. A group of about 10 of us. Service was great, and the food was amazing, from drinks to appetizers to mains to desserts. Everyone enjoyed. Would go again!

Early Sat dinner in Barrie after escaping Costco! Order 14oz prime rib, mushroom neptune and lobster bisque. All were very good. Neptune was excellent. Bique was also v good but would ask for bread crumbs on the side as there were too many inside. Prime rib was excellent, keg horseradish was smoking hot as i hoped for. Service was fantastic. Cant find the receipt to find her name. Young lady with cool glasses, dark hair. On the right side once inside, booth. She was excellent. Sorry i cant point her out for the resto.

Amazing steak as always. Go for the NY strip Chicago style. They are the masters for it

My family and I were at the Keg Barrie for dinner tonight, and our server was Sarah. From start to finish, our visit was fantastic. We were there for our son s 14th birthday, and Sarah went out of her way to make sure he felt celebrated, and she provided impeccable service. From beverages, appies, dinner, and desserts, everything was just perfect. We honestly could not have asked for a better birthday experience for our kiddo.

We visited the Keg to celebrate my husband with our son and grandparents. Rebecca was our server and she was incredible! Very attentive and friendly. She made our experience a wonderful one. My husband and I visit the Keg in Barrie for all our special occasion and it is always a great atmosphere with amazing food and service.

Billy miner pie and shrimps for appetizers were amazing. Unfortunately, everything else is quite overpriced and not to my taste. Mulled wine is a complete disaster if you ever tried one. The atmosphere and service are great, though. Food

Shared my sons 21st birthday here enjoyed steak and a lovely server Makayla. A lovely woman from Trinidad who was very welcoming and warm just like the nice fire place adjacent to our seats. The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere very serene. Our server did not interrupt our meal but was constantly available when needed. This lady deserves high praise and I would hope you get to sit in her section.

Went for our 21st Anniversary. Always get the Classic and never finish. Delicious! Parking: Shopping at Park Place and dinner afterwards. Good thinking!

I have never left a review before so this is a first for me. We have frequented the keg for all our special occasions. This evening was the same. We were celebrating our anniversary. We ordered our food and I requested to our waitress that the last 2 times my steak came out overdone. I am not usually one to complain but I felt I would address it from the start and maybe we could avoid the same issue. The waitress said she would address it. When the food came out my steak again was overdone. I requested medium and it came out completely brown. Not only that but they brought the wrong type of potato. So they had to redo the whole dinner. While my husband sat eating his, I had to wait. When they brought the meal again, they still had the wrong potato. Not only that but when we finally got the bill, we were charged twice for the meal that was redone. It was a terrible experience all in all. And this our third time with the same issue. We received an apology but nothing to compensate. I find that very unprofessional for the prices that you pay at this restaurant. The keg has always been a favourite place of ours but with all the runaround tonight, we may have to move elsewhere.

Excellent food

Made a reservation in advance for dinner at 7:15 p.m. Drove 1/2 hour to get to the Keg only to be told upon check-in that there were kitchen issues and they weren t taking food orders as it was 1.5 hours delayed. I totally understand issues come up but to be that delayed means there could have been communication to upcoming reservations to let them know and give them the opportunity to eat elsewhere. Poor customer service on their part. Dedicate one of the 4 people at the hostess stand to calling or even emailing people.

A terrible experience. There was one hour 15 minutes wait and we were directed to the bar. Music was so loud you couldn t talk, the waiter told us there was a problem in the kitchen and we would have to wait another at least one hour for hour food , next the woman next to me in the bad was waisted and fund friends across the bar and was screaming with her arms across my space. Use to be my favourite never again. Went to Town and Country for a unique experience once more nice back ground music in fron a wonderful fireplace. Thanks Town and Country.

My Steak was over cooked but they did a great job making up for it. Rest of the party had great food

Went to the keg for the first time tonight. Exceptional service and food. However, I will say the reason we will come back is their server Jason. He brightened our meal, helped choose amazing selections, and was just an amazing person to have around for our anniversary. Thank you Jason & the keg for helping make our anniversary unforgettable!

Just wanna take a moment to say thank you Jenna for your excellent hospitality. My birthday dinner was not only delicious but also amazing due to Jennas amazing service.

Dont waste your time making a reservation because once you arrive at your reservation time, youll still be asked to wait 20min. Food is very basic and subpar. Definitely not worth the price. Our steak was overcooked, but having had to wait so long for the food already, we were not in the mood to send it back and wait for them to remake it. We had to ask for bread when we sat down because our server forgot. We also received the wrong sauce with our steak. It was also clear that our server did not want to be there, as she was not friendly and gave us attitude near the end. Poor experience for a $150+ meal. Will not be returning.

We recently dined at The Keg and had a mostly enjoyable experience, but one incident left a sour note during what could have been an exceptional evening. First, the positives: the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was prepared to perfection. From the appetizers to the mains, everything was flavourful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our waitress was also fantastic attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to make our evening special. She went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She even sensed that something was wrong after we had an interaction with the manager, Nicole, and took the initiative to have Nicole come over and apologize. Unfortunately, the apology didn t come across as sincere, which only added to our frustration. The incident occurred when my fiancé, who is visually impaired and relies on his guide dog, was seated with us at a booth designed for six people, where we had squeezed in seven. His guide dog was calmly lying at the side of the table, but instead of accommodating the situation, the manager passively-aggressively asked us to move the dog under the table. This was not only impractical, given the cramped space, but unfair. A simple solution moving the couple seated next to us slightly to create more room was not even considered. While the food and service were excellent, the lack of sensitivity in handling the situation with my fiancé and his guide dog was disappointing. Restaurants should be a welcoming space for all patrons, including those with disabilities, and more effort could have been made to make us feel that way. Overall, The Keg offers incredible food and stellar waitstaff, but management s approach to accessibility and their handling of such situations need improvement. I hope they take this feedback constructively to ensure all diners feel equally valued.

This Keg is my go-to spot. I always hate writing bad reviews, but here it goes... I normally only go to the Keg to celebrate things. I have been there with large groups and just one on one celebrations with my family. We went on August 28th, 2024, at 8pm. We sat in a small booth in the lounge and were served by the bar tender. We did not get the same attention I have had in the past when weve sat in the dining room. I was really looking forward to the prime rib, we placed our orders, and the waiter came back to tell us it was sold out. This was disappointing since we dont tend to come to the Keg often, and that is my favorite meal there. Im changing my 5 year rating of 5 stars to a 1 star because of the lack of service and my preferred meal was not available. Sorry...

Excellent as always

This is not the first time for us at this location. We went about a year ago, and the experience was the same. The food is outstanding, the staff are extremely polite and attentive. Management is always present throughout the dining rooms, and the place is clean. During a time when its hard to go out because everything is so expensive, you know going to the Keg in Barrie, youll get your moneys worth. Wheelchair accessibility: Wide aisle areas for easy access and table that are easily lifted if need be

Had an excellent night for my husbands birthday. I dont even want to give a whole star off just half. My daughter had the cheesy noodles, they were terrible. For $16 you dont want them to be that bad. But everything else was fantastic.

Bre dip cold, too cold to scoop with crackers. Carrots undercooked, hard as rocks and tasted like they were cooked from frozen Lobster super chewy. Duck sauce was gluggy and reminded me of jello. Was served raw horseradish with sandwich, a good restaurant should serve horseradish cream. The Keg felt more like a meal I got from ikea. Very expensive for poorly hooked food.

We are never disappointed when we attend the keg steakhouse. 26 years ago in London Ontario took my wife out for our first date. Mustafa the general manager at the time treated us so well we have never stopped going back to the cake steakhouse. We experienced the cake steakhouses all over the country including the United States. Highly recommend the cake steakhouse for any occasion! Parking: Plenty of parking no problem. Kid-friendliness: There were children around us not maybe as well behaved as they should be. However yes there are children and it is child friendly.

The server was very good!! And dinner came in a timely fashion. But spending 380.00 for 5 people it should have been better. 3 meals were good but both my wife s and mine were very small portions. 3 little pieces of carrots and 5 little beans, rice was very dry and both steaks were over cooked..but the waiter was good!!

Got there just before closing. They welcomed us warmly. Great service from a great waitress. Manager came out to make sure everything was fine. The food however was fantastic. Everyone in our party was very happy with their choices.

Our family enjoyed a quadruple birthday celebration at The Keg, Barrie earlier this month. Our meals were excellent and delicious, and our server Nestani was delightful, attentive and superb in her service.

Took my sister and her little family to the keg as they have never been there before and me and my boyfriend have been there numerous times no issues until tonight. My boyfriend sat down and his hand had glass sticking out of his hands as he put his hands on the table I am thankful it was not my niece or nephew that got glass in their hands, they gave us two free appetizers and my boyfriend got home and still had glass in his hand. Kid-friendliness: My niece and nephew went there for the first time and they had a great time and enjoyed them themselves

Best prime rib Ive ever had.

Honestly it was good and everything but I felt like it took a bit of time to have our dinner. I ordered the steak & lobster as well the calamari for an appetizer. The appetizer came out quickly but it felt like a bit of time for our food. After we were done they quickly took our dishes and ask if we wanted dessert when we said no, they had the bill right there. We kinda felt rushed to get out the door.

Too dark for me

Out for my son s 20th Birthday dinner. Service was excellent. We said that he had a dairy allergy and they made sure to let us know, whenever they brought food to the table, if there was dairy exposure or not. Food was amazing. There was an error on the bill and the Manager Nicole corrected it. Staff were all a pleasure to deal with. We ll be back for sure!

I have not been a Keg lover for a while now probably because I was only going to Aurora and Newmarket location. But this location hit it out of the park!!! Party of 10 and everyone loved their dinner. The waitress was on point and the washrooms were immaculate. Great job I highly recommend this location.

Phoned establishment and made reservation for a group of 20. Told we had no reservation, manager very rude and stated we were lying about reservation, had proof of call on my phone. Took our group to another establishment and happily gave them our 2k$ worth of business. WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN!

We came for my husbands birthday. The food was delicious, we got mostly steaks, as well as pistachio crusted salmon The service was impeccable, our server explained everything on the menu really well, was great with our kids, just really good service overall. Kid-friendliness: Brought my 2 and 4 year olds and the server was amazing with them. Even bringing them different juices so they could choose which one they liked.

I had never been to a keg at the age of 28 i was graced with the presence of a beautifully made steak Oscar and such a beautiful time The staff the atmosphere and just the overall effort and caring that goes into operating a proper steak house 12/10 would recommend and will be returning emma f was a killer server I dont think i have or ever will have anything bad to say about the keg Its truly an experience that everyone should be blessed with in their lifetime.

Visited last Friday for dinner with my sister and niece. Our waiter was friendly and provided excellent service. The food was delicious and arrived quickly.

Firstly a must try is prime rib with garlic mashed potato. I tried the keg burger which is juicy and soft patty with a nice flavour of sauted veggies. I really appreciate heidi who helped us with a 5 star customer service...thank you heidi for the wonderful service Food

Service was amazing !!!

Went for a birthday celebration, food was great minus the bread not being the same (a lot tougher) and Cesar salad being very bitter (too much lemon). Steaks and sides were AMAZING. The disappointing part was service not inquiring about whether we re celebrating anything, and the LOUD music that made it unpleasant to stay any longer than absolutely necessary. We had our meal, skipped the cake, to get out faster. Atmosphere used to be a lot more calmer and pleasant.

I had an awful meal at the Keg in Barrie last night. I was told that a manager would call me and he just did. Very UNSATISFACTORY- he proceeded to apologize and said he would put in my file to use less salt. He said there were no other complaints- and it must have been me. Funny enough the server told me that they get a lot of complaints about there being too much salt. I have eaten at that Keg, and many other locations,many times. Never had any issues with too much salt. I will not be going back there again. After $100 dinner that wasn t good- I would have thought that the manager would do more than half apologize and with the other half of the conversation say that it s my issue. Bye bye Keg Guess you forgot how many restaurants there are near you and at Friday Harbour and even between the two.

The food is delicious, but for the price you pay the portions are very small! Service is always excellent!

We came to the keg tonight for my neighbours 84th birthday. As always dinner was superb and our waitress Rebecca did a phenomenal job.

We had such a great time. Going in the mid afternoon meant a quiet time, hot delicious food, and great service.

This Keg was fantastic overall. From the kind and welcoming greeting. To the kindness of the server who paid full attention to all details espeacially when she asked about allergies right upfront. Bless her. She was magic. She smiled the whole time as willing to help where ever she could. She was quite fun in connecting with both myself and my two sons. I wish she had a name tag as i have forgotten her name. She did introduce herself however i have forgotten. Thank you to her, the hosteses and the overall cleaniness. In declining industry of customer service this keg location Rocked it.We were on our way home to Toronto when we stopped at the Keg. Thankful

The food and service were excellent.

The food was delicious and the wine was fantastic. The portions could have been a little bigger for the price, but all in all, it was a good meal.

We attended The Keg Barrie tonight for my grandsons birthday. His choice for every birthday because he loves the Billy Miner Pie. This evening the manager denied him a free piece of pie for his birthday because he is a child ? There was 4 adult dinners and 2 childrens dinners purchased,as well as beverages and appetizers. Not one other table was with a birthday was denied a lousy piece of pie! We purchased the pie when he was told they wouldnt give him one so he wouldnt be disappointed of course. We spend a great many birthdays at the Keg, but that will be changing in the future. So disappointed in the management of this restaurant!!

Cant beat The Keg for prime rib dinners!

We just had an amazing meal and excellent service from Heidi. We enjoyed the perfectly cooked Prime Rib with snow crab and scallops and shrimp oscar. We only dropped one star as it was quite noisy and air conditioning was blowing so forcefully our waitress couldnt light the candles. But that is more a comment on the building construction than our meal. We would definately recommend and we will be back.

Outstanding service. We ve visited many times but this time I decided to go for the Keg Burger. Even though it was a little overdone for my preference they offered to remake the burger which I declined as I was already into it and did not want to stop in the middle of my meal. They took care of it on the bill. Amazing staff and management who care for their customers. Will be back for the next birthday we celebrate as always.

Service was fabulous but no Brie and I always order it. and ordered cheese cake to take home and it was terrible And they use to have was the best creamy tangy cheese cake but this was aweful to be honest my favourite place was the keg not any more

Incredible. Celebrated my son s birthday here and I am gluten and dairy free. The server s attention to detail was immaculate making my son feel special and the chef personally served my meal confirming gluten and dairy free specifications. So grateful!

Great Keg location. Food was cooked perfectly and delicious! Staff was very friendly and service was fast. Our server was great and helped us move tables when another group that sat next to us was wearing heavy perfume making it very uncomfortable for us to enjoy our meal. Manager stopped by table to make sure we were good which we appreciated. We have been to many Keg locations and this one was among the top choices. Would recommend!

The food was good and this location has a great patio which was comfy. I had the blue cheese fillet and it was very tasty. Only thing that was off was that the table was not cleaned when we were seated so it was a bit sticky but after asking the waiter to clean it then it was fine.

They got rid of Creemore beer. Someone needs to be fired. Then tarred and feathered.

Celebrated my daughter s 16th birthday last week and what incredible experience we received. The food is consistently perfect and the service is always amazing. A very special thank you to Nicole the assistant manager for making her birthday a memorable celebration.

For the cost of a plate which is up with fine dining staff should at least wait until you swallow your last bite before asking to take your plate or package it up. Felt very rushed. Ordered an appetizer. Still had calamari on our plate when the waitress reached to take it away. Main meal came quickly after appetizer. Waitress was way too eager to grab our plates before we were finished with our meal. Not a relaxing meal at all. It was a week night so not busy. $175 to feel rushed for one shared appetizer, 2 steak dinners which included a steak & one side(not Keg classic) and an ice tea. No alcoholic drinks or dessert. Food itself was good. Food costs though are ridiculous Update: forwarded an email to the Keg customer service as you suggested below. No one has responded.

Overcrowded, too busy and loud. Seating preference on reservation and special occasion not accommodated. Food was okay but not on par with price.

One of the better Kegs around, especially from a staffing perspective. Incredibly friendly and efficient team both in the dining room and bar/lounge area. Food is always fresh, hot and delicious. Cant go wrong at this location.

Two couples. Steak was amazing, added blue cheese spread was worth the extra cost, veggies excellent. But, blue cheese dressing on wedge was bland, and so was the twice baked potato, even when the side of Berneaise sauce was poured over it. Would not order either of those again. It got quite noisy (Thursday around 6), but service was very good.

We visited on a week day evening and everything was quick and great. We both enjoyed the meal.

The Key delivers as always. The blackened chickens was seasoned to perfection and the sirloin and lobster tail was excellent. Thank you to our server Justin for the amazing service and making this feel like a true first class experience.

We had a great meal, the food was excellent. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. The only complaint is that the music is way too loud, we couldn t settle to enjoy the meal. We had a difficult time communicating with our waiter, I always felt like he couldn t really hear me and we had some small miscommunications about our order (whether salads would be served ahead of the main course or at the same time, not a big deal overall). He was a great server, we just struggled to hear each other. Also, I ordered a specialty drink from the drink menu and had to explain to the waiter what it was, I don t think anyone had ever ordered one from him before. When the drink came out, it was a standard version of the cocktail, not the specialty one from the menu. I didn t complain about it and when we got the bill, I saw that it was entered correctly and perhaps the bartender was also unfamiliar with the cocktail menu. I don t fault the staff for lack of training but it was a bit of a bummer. I would return if I was in the area and in the mood for a loud but delicious meal.

Back and back again - more than the general good food and service, we have had small issues in the past that are resolved exceptionally quickly and thoroughly. The kind of service that makes a business model successful and clients coming back again and again. Kid-friendliness: The keg offers a pack of crayons and a coloring placemat as well as a vegie and cracker plate for no charge when dining with children

Fabulous place to dine, the atmosphere is always welcoming and of course the food is awesome. My wife s special place for dinner, waiters are always doing their best to please. Really recommend!!! Parking: Go early especially on holidays, parking sometimes difficult to find close by. But there s always nose bleed section..

The food was exactly as ordered. Thats why I love The Keg. It was busy, so service took awhile. Disappointed at the end of night when asked about dessert and I had commented it was my birthday. By the time the server brought the Billy Miner Pie it was dripping down the sides. Plus there was no candle. It may seem silly it bothered me, but this was my only party and I was turning 60. My server literally gave a heavy sigh and rolled his eyes and asked if I wanted him to go get a candle. I figured by then the cake would be a puddle, so I said no. But l like I said, the food was amazing!

Another fantastic Anniversary dinner.

The place was exceptionally busy, but the staff handled the service without missing a beat. Bravo to our server Allison, they were outstanding. The food arrived in good time and was, for the most part, very good. One steak was a little under done, and another very well done,but for the volume the kitchen was putting out over all very good. Dietary restrictions: They paid special attention to allergies, and we we well looked after.

Always pretty good, but prices have gone way up and portion sizes down. Value not as good as it used to be.

Went for a birthday dinner and had a great experience. Absolutely no complaints, steak grilled to order - nicely done beautiful rare. The food quality and service were great. Recommend trying the mushroom Neptune and of course the Billy pie cake for desert, you won t be disappointed. {the cake is free for birthday so thats a plus to the experience as well} will be coming back.
