Super authentic thai restaurant and i never thought i d find such quality in barrie. Service was quick and the menu had all our favorites. Try their sticky rice with mango, the presentation is superb and tastes sooooo goood!

Delicious Thai food! We ordered the Pad See Ewe and Pad Thai, and both dishes were packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the balance of spices was spot on. The portions were generous, and the service was warm and welcoming. This place is a gem can t wait to come back and try more dishes!

I ve been to Thailand but here is Barrie, so I would not compare based on what I got today. Noodles are ok, a bit overpriced for the portion but I can accept it. The 2 stars is for the Tom yam hotpot, it s about $50 after tax, there were 2 soft boiled eggs, 4 frozen mussels, some frozen squid rings, and some frozen shrimps, some mushrooms looks not fresh, 3 chunks of diced tomatoes and onions. I would say the soup is actually from a can of paste that you can buy at $3 from Walmart or somewhere.

This place is a must visit for the ambience, the tasty food and the pleasant service. Some must try items are : Fried Scallops, Hot n sour soup, Thai fried rice, Green curry and the mango sticky rice. Will definitely revisit

This place has the best Thai food in Barrie, everything Ive tried has been amazing , pad kee mao, pad Thai , crispy beef..... All are delicious, make sure you dont order Thai spicy thinking this is white ppl spicy because you probably wont be able to enjoy your meal

We decided to try eating in the restaurant instead of ordering take out and it was overall bland/terrible tasting food. We started with the mango salad which was the best part of the whole dinning experience, then I received something they call wonton soup, a soup I ve ordered via delivery app many times and it tasted nothing like it usually does. The wontons were rubbery and rigor mortis and the broth not like it usually is. The Thai beef soup was absolutely flavourless, it was so odd tasting that I thought we were being pranked. We had the curry pad Thai and it was decent but could have been brought to life with a little salt. But your restaurant has no sauces or salt on the tables and service was mostly non existent to sort any of this bland food out. The bill was $75 which is extortion for food this bad, we will never be back and I will warn everyone.

I pulled up for pho but was pleasantly surprised to see it is now a Thai restaurant! Walked in and order green curry among others. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was mostly full a great sign of the quality and people running it! The spice I was worried when I order and I did not say spicy that it would come mild but it was full of flavor and perfect heat. 10/10 will be back soon. Also tons of gluten-free options and the staff are well versed on which dishes can and cannot be made gluten free Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free the staff are well versed on which items can and cannot be made gluten-free.

I ordered the Guay Tiew Gaeng with chicken at the thai spicy level, my boyfriend got the pad thai at the medium spice level. Both dishes were insanely delicious, Ive never experienced such flavorful food, I loved the coconut based broth. Our server was amazing and helpful. Portions are big, well worth the price! Loved the atmosphere and decor. Im looking forward to my next visit!!

Just ordered take out, Pad Thai, Fried Shrimps, Pad Kee Mao. Absolutely awful, inedible food! Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao tastes like rotten fish, was super sour and felt like same taste for both dishes! Fried Shrimps were super salty and overcooked. Our dinner was ruined, had to order pizza just not to starve! I throw everything in the garbage, that s how bad food was. I don t know what was the issue, Iordered through UberEats and unfortunately could not get refund from them since it was not Uber issue. For 80$ plus tips I am very disappointed, wish I could get refund.

Excellent service here. We were immediately greeted, seated and served. Everyone who came to our table was friendly and ensured we had what we needed. We ordered dinner for 2 and it came with delicious large portions of food. We would eat here again.

Menu: Service is not that great. They have Meal for 2 and no veg option in it. If you want veg than you will have to go for meal for 4 even though you are just 2 people & they won t make it without chicken for you no matter what you will have to buy meal for 4. She asked waitress to change it she was sorry about it she took the plate took it to kitchen and came back saying as you have finished some portion of the noodle I can bring small portion of veg for you they had zero regrets. I don t know what is their exact problem but seems like kitchen staff is not that great they have around 10 mins of argument with waitress

I ordered the Khao Soi for takeout on Sunday night and I ve been dreaming of it ever since. It was honestly one of the best meals I ve ever had. I ve been to Thailand, and ordered this dish a few times at Khao San Road restaurant in Toronto, but this was just next level delicious. I had a huge smile on my face after I took my first bite of the curry and loved all the add ins. The crispy won ton noddles! The pickled veg! Raw red onion! Mmmmm!!! My husband s had to stop me from ordering it again for lunch this week- but I will be ordering it for dinner this Friday.

Horrible Horrible customer service. You can even tell that by the way the owner responds to any negative reviews on here. Food is so overpriced. Clearly there are NO standards.

1st time ordering takeout after seeing all the great reviews on here. Called in, lady answered the phone promptly. Ordered the fried shrimp spring rolls and vegetable green curry. I didnt know what I wanted, so I asked the lady whats popular, im not fussy. She mentioned 3 dishes. I chose the Kung Pow. She even chose the meat, beef after asking her to pick. Went to pick it up on a Friday evening around 7. The place was full of customers and there was like 5 people in the kitchen and plenty of help at the counter. Great atmosphere. I knew right away this place would be good while I walked out with the food that smelt amazing. Ok this place is unreal and the type where everything on the menu is probably really good. Its authentic right down to the homemade sweet and sour sauce. We ate every last bite and will be back. My wife is already talking about going back tomorrow. -Paid cash to get 10% off. -Shell ask what level of spice you like, and it was perfect for both of us. -ask for utensils if needed Great value and dont feel greased out after eating. What a gem, so happy its close to home, but worth the drive if not.

I grew up eating authentic thai food and even visited thailand. This is the only thai restaurant in Barrie that matches what Ive had before. The food was delicious, spicy, aromatic and most importantly - authentic.

I love my Thai cuisine, and Rim Thanon is THE best for authentic Thai food in Barrie. I ve tried almost all the restaurants that serve Thai food, and I just keep coming back to Rim Thanon. Its proper authentic Thai food. The ingredients used in their dishes are exactly what the dish is required of, and it is just so flavorsome! My favourite has always been the pad Thai and the Phat Kaphrao. Visually appealing, and the fried egg with its crispy edges is just chefs kiss!! My husband loves the Tom Yum soup, and he too confirmed that it was just like being in Thailand. Overall, I will keep going back to Rim Thanon just because it is definitely the most authentic Thai food in Barrie. The menu is on the pricier side but just good things are never cheap and you know they cook with love!

I went there with my two girlfriends, firstly the server was not welcoming to us at all but to everyone else there. We left very discriminated. Secondly, I ordered the salad and got a soup. I had heard a lot good about this place but I didn t find anything good. Just mediocre food, won t be going back. We all are servers so we did tip her because we know how the restaurant tip out system works out everywhere. And now that I see your reply blows my mind. If you want to bring more customers and positive reviews I have never seen anybody blaming the customers for everything.

Khob khun ka !! This Thai joint is dope! An absolute gem in the area when I was hugely craving Thai food, which is pretty much always but not frequent in Barrie. I got some G i cu n (Tofu and Veggie Fresh Salad Rolls) on Doordash which were phenomenal, really fresh, well presented, super yummy and a solid portion stuffed with wholesome ingredients and bursting with flavor. The satay sauce was super yum, really thick authentic peanut vibes and a perfect consistency. Support local business!

Amazing unassuming Thai food with all your great classics. I get the feeling its just a Thai family living in Barrie that just wants to serve great food without being pretentious. The value is great between price for quality and quantity. Ive been to PAI and although their food is great, the value just isnt there anymore given how trendy it has become. This is definitely my current favorite Thai place and would recommend this to anybody living in or crossing by Barrie.

Our experience at Rim Thanon last night was nothing short of exceptional. Despite a minor mishap with our order instructions being overlooked, the outstanding service and delicious food more than made up for it. After driving an hour to try this restaurant, we were thrilled to find that it exceeded our expectations. The Tom Yum soup was flavorful and authentic, while the pad see ew was cooked to perfection. The pineapple fried rice was also delicious! Normally the chicken or beef in noodle/fried rice dishes can be very dry but we were very impressed with the freshness and taste of the meat. The thai ice tea was also very good but would have been perfect if they used crushed ice =) Each dish was a delightful burst of Thai flavors that left us craving for more. What truly stood out was the impeccable service. The waitress went above and beyond to rectify the oversight with our order, ensuring that we left satisfied and happy. Their attentiveness and dedication to customer satisfaction were truly commendable. Overall, our dining experience at Rim Thanon was memorable and enjoyable. Food was very spicy but good on first go. Returned and requested same dish as previous, but was advised to try special instead, as cheaper. Agreed but was disappointed second time, as the special was not what was explained. Will try again, but wont have any specials.

Horrible place very rude . my baby sister needed to use the washroom they didn t let us use the washroom unless we would dine in and buy a lot of food or they would tell us to leave in a rude way. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND STAFF VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!

Disappointed... hoping the high rating is really a reflection of the good quality etc.. Maybe takeout food is not afforded the same level of attention. Pad thai is overly sour, flavour profile is not authentic and tastes like vinegar ketchup was used to add some more flavour. Pad see ew was drowned on soya sauce and oil... beef was paper thin and dry. Pad gra prow was overly sauced. Rice was drowned the way the dish was packaged all the oil settled on one side. Green curry was the best dish - good spice and flavour..a touch watery but overall the best dish. They checked off the 5th dish but didnt actually send it., thus the service rating.

Was not fully cooked and they refused to replace the order or give me a refund.

I came here with friends that live close by and come often. They have gone a few times since Rim Thanon opened. I was recommended to try to the Islamic Noodles and it was absolutely delicious. Such rich deep flavours and spices made this such an enjoyable dish. I highly recommend this place and I will be going back again to Rim Thanon no doubt.

Great spot for delicious fresh Thai food with a family vibe. We had the curry red chicken Thai along with the Pad See Ewe. Both had with medium heat and came out well done. The sweetness offset the heat nicely. Id probably get let hot next time but only because Im longer good with hotter spicy foods. Service was good and cash payment gets you 10% off. 28/12/23 Still great pad Thai and Tom yum soup, and love saving 10%! Vegetarian options: Plenty.

Discovered and dined at this place on the way back to GTA from MLSM. Yummy authentic Thai cuisine! My kid loved it and wanna return when we pass by next ski season. One thing i noticed: the kitchen was fully staffed, least 3-4 ppl there. Hence, foods are served at a fast pace. No offense, only one server in the front of the house, and that s where the bottleneck lies at. Perhaps they can resolve this pain point by letting customers order on their phones bypassing the wait for the server. Just my two cents. Definitely will return :)

I had THE BEST Thai food ever here. We were 4 people and ordered diverse dishes. All of them were out of this world. Soooo good. The 2 ladies who were there provided excellent service and made sure we felt taken care of. Great atmosphere, great decor, awesome service and very very delicious food. Tucked away in a strip mall, the food and service outclasses its address. The server was very kind and showed up more than a few times to top water up and bus dishes away. The food is just very, very good. Not just, but so good it doesnt seem right but to say, Its just so good! Id be willing to wager that most of their food doesnt come out of the back of a Cisco truck. Recently ordered a few items and one noodle dish was accidently mixed up with another customers. The store contacted me to let me know they had noticed the error before it reached my house and had a replacement item sent immediately. Even the dish sent by mistake was delicious... Great Thai food. My friend and I enjoyed the food so much we ordered literally $250 worth of food for just two of us. We wanted to try everything. Authentic and they speak Thai too!

Maybe its just me... I ordered the tofu pad thai lunch special. The flavor was good but the vegetables were in huge pieces! I didnt have a knife (take out) so if I was going to eat them it was going to be a challenge! If I could suggest cutting the bok choy etc. into bite size pieces I think it would be more enjoyable than it already is.

Think before ordering from this place. We ordered $150 worth of food + tip and couldn t eat 3/4 of it because although asking for mild spice, it was EXTREMELY SPICY (inedible). The papaya salad had peanuts although we asked for no nuts due to an allergy, and worst of all when we called, the guy who answered the phone was defensive, unfriendly, and questioned whether we had actually ordered pad Thai with mild spice or not. We will NOT be ordering from here again.

This is our usual go to for good authentic Thai food takeout. However we got our usual order with pad Thai, cashew nut chicken and I must say the pad Thai was bland and tasteless and the cashew nut chicken taste only like fish sauces. Spring rolls and mango salad were good. For the price of this food it s very disappointing that the consistency isn t there. We will be taking a break from this place. We have noticed the quality of their food has declined since it first opened.

This place is definitely worth a visit (or several). We got the Islamic noodles, pad Thai, and Thai iced tea which were delicious. I would like to add that they offer halal chicken! Shoutout to Hop for the wonderful service- will definitely be back.

We just moved to the Barrie area from the GTA and were so excited to find a Thai restaurant in such close proximity to our home. We had very high hopes of this place judging from the reviews, however, the food (both quality & quantity) left much to be desired. Based on the atmosphere, menu, and staff, we were expecting authenthic Thai food, but that was not the case. Not only was the food lacking in flavour & spices, but the portions were laughable. There were less noodles in my Khao Soi ($20+) than what youd get in a pack of instant noodles. They instead tried to overload the bowl with beansprouts to compensate. The service was average. It was hard to tell whether the place was busy or if they were just understaffed (only 2 people running dine-in & take-out). Our food took a while to come out & was definitely not worth the wait. Overall, will not be returning.

I dove headfirst into the menu, channeling my inner adventurous Canadian, determined to venture beyond the realm of burgers and hot dogs. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (surprise, surprise?), thinking, How spicy could medium really be? Well, let me tell you, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. First things first, my mouth was set ablaze. Not just your run-of-the-mill hot sauce kind of fire; were talking Call the Fire Department level. Disclaimer: My dining companion and I are seasoned spicy food enthusiasts. We scoff at what most consider too hot, but Rim Thanons medium spice level had us sweating like contestants in a chili-eating contest. But heres the kicker: even as my taste buds screamed in protest, each bite of those inferno-infused noodles was unbelievably delicious. Its like Rim Thanon secretly employs culinary wizards who can turn mouth-scorching fire into pure gastronomic ecstasy. Now, for our recommendation: If you value your taste buds well-being, start with mild. Seriously, dont be a hero. Dip your toes into the Thai flavour pool before you attempt the spicy Olympic dive. And if, by some chance, you happen to be a fire-breathing deity of spice, then, by all means, brave the medium, or dare I say it, take on the hot like a spicy superhero. In conclusion, Rim Thanon is a thrilling, tongue-tingling adventure that will have you questioning your life choices in the best way possible. Just be prepared to sip on your beverage like its the elixir of life, and keep a fire extinguisher on standby for your taste buds.

Great spot to try Thai food. Combo for 4 is great value and the pineapple fried rice was awesome.

I eat here as often as possible. The fresh rolls are particularly great.

The best Thai food I ever had in Canada

Haven t seen many Thai spots in Barrie so I was surprised when I came across this resto. The Khao Soi and pineapple fried rice were very flavourful, a little bit spicy but not too overpowering ..for me at least. Also tried the Panang curry(med spice) green curry (mild) and the massaman curry (mild) they were all still pretty spicy lol but tolerable. Our waitress was very friendly.

Phenomenal Thai food in an unlikely location - a modest mall in Barrie, Ontario. Authentic flavors (Ive been to Thailand!) and excellent, friendly service from our Thai waitress Alyssa. Especially loved the Panang curry, pad kaprao, and khao soi. Highly recommend!

I am a Thai food LOVER and this was, by far, the best Ive ever had!

We have been here Half a dozen times. The produce, herbs and spices are fresh as can be. The portions are generous. The staff and atmosphere great. The menu is flexible for vegetarians. Of special note, the Pad Phak is savoury and delicious; the panang curry out of this world. Mango salad and fresh rolls are show stoppers.

This place offers very good Thai food with excellent flavors. Great atmosphere, nice and clean. Very good service and fairly quick service. Vegetarian options: There are some dishes where you can choose either veggies, chicken, beef o shrimp. Parking: Plenty of parking spaces

This place slaps. Quality food that rivals PAI in Toronto, the broths are cooked to absolute perfection and when they do spice, it s spicy!

Got takeout. Pretty decent chicken green curry. Only disappointed that I asked to add shrimp to my chicken green curry (for $4.00) and I only received 3 shrimp . Also the fact that they charge $3.00 extra to get rice for your already $18.00 curry is pretty steep. The flavour is fine but I wont be going back as there are 2 better places to get thai curry close to this place that dont overcharge for the same thing.

I would really recommend everyone to try out this place. It s an authentic thai food. Chicken Basil Rice and Tom Yum are a must try. Also, not to forget Chicken Satay which comes with a delicious peanut sauce.

We adore Rim Thanon! Having lived in Asia for over 7 years and travelling extensively in Thailand, we adore Thai food and know great Thai food when we taste it. The staff here are always lovely and service is amazing. Be sure to try a variety of dishes and don t be afraid to ask staff for help ordering. Do not miss their Pad See Ewe! Their takeout is always hot and fresh and they ve done an amazing job of their decor, making it so nice to dine in.

It s about time, my search is over. I should have listened to everyone telling me to try this wonderful restaurant. I only had spring rolls and Pad Thai but it was perfect. No ketchup and stupid vegetables that don t belong. The restaurant is clean and very well done, not huge but worth a visit. The staff was friendly and inviting treated me like family. Definitely coming back and if you haven t tried their food make the trip you won t regret it. Parking: In strip mall with ample space.

Drove up from Toronto to try this place .WOW it was worth it!!! I ve been to a lot of Thai places in the TO but this little spot up in Barrie is the place. Best Thai food I ve ever had, along with the best wait staff and prices. Complimentary spring roles were sent to our table and the lovely waitress took time to explain and detail all the dishes on the menu. My search for the best has ended so stop yours and check this place out. I know I ll be back for sure!!! 5 stars+++++ Don t be shy and try the Thai beer Singha, very nice!!!
