Thai express is usually my go to at food courts and I always get the Beef Thai Fried Rice. Attached is the food i usually get at other locations and a quick photo of the food I recieved. It was my first time at this location and all I can say is I was very disappointed with what I got. Here's a list of all that was wrong. The employee was busy talking to someone while recieving my order. I ordered beef thai (pineapple and tomato) fried rice and did not have any of those on my order. It didn't even have any basil, which was the other option for fried rice. I was not asked about the spice level and the food I got was very mediocre. The food consisted of dried up peas, huge chunks of poorly chopped carrots, barely any beef, and flavourless rice. How the rice did not have any real flavor baffles me. Also did not put any onions?? My friends who ordered at the other establishments got a way better meal for the same price. Will definitely not be back at this location and would not recommend it to anyone. I usually avoid leaving bad reviews but this place disappointed me that much. Don't waste your money on this mediocre food.
I have had Thai express multiple times at other locations (almost weekly) and I moved back to Barrie and was craving a Thai soup with chicken. This is my second experience at this location, first time a year ago I thought maybe the worker was new. This is the menu description for Thai Soup. _ A fragrant, tangy and homemade bowl of liquid gold! Thaï chicken broth filled with noodles, vegetables, and topped with crispy fried red shallots. My Thai soup at this location today Sept 9th/2024 as well as a year ago at this location had the most disgusting un-flavorful broth, tasted like they used the water they boiled the noodles in. The soup has no cilantro or onion or shallots like EVERY other location.. but it is loaded with LETTUCE.. like pure romaine. I picked out the pile of lettuce and the level of my soup went down about half way. Very disappointing as it's the only location in Barrie..
As others have pointed out before me, this location does not serve food from the Thai Express menu. The pad see ew is so bad. The noodles are soggy, it was pale and like others say, they cooked it for 1 minute. They also cheap out on ingredients. Rather than Chinese broccoli, as the menu specifies and all other locations use, they use cabbage. It tasted nothing like Thai Express. I also bought the basil fried rice. Not to mention, there was so little meat and veggies in any of the dishes. It looked and tasted nothing like the usual recipe. There was definitely no basil used. I spent around $60 for my family and we ended up throwing it because no one enjoyed the food. I hope corporate takes a look at operations at this location, they're definitely doing their own thing and completely ruining the brand. This has been going on for a while because this is the second time I've had this experience. Previously I chalked it up to a bad cook that day. But apparently, it's just how they usually operate. Don't go to this location unless you like your food bland, soggy, and nothing like Thai Express.
Very bland. No spice, hardly any flavour. Only cooked it for under 1 minute while I paid debit then it was “done”. Left the dish soupy, not giving a chance for the noodles to soak up flavour or the sauce to thicken.
I was craving for a Tom Yum soup and I thought it was a good chance for my husband to try Thai Express for the first time... what a disappointment. I have eaten at many different locations of Thai Express and they have always been great. It was the first time trying the one at Georgian Mall. I really wish I had read the reviews before going there. We ordered the Tom Yum and a Pad Thai with shrimp. Saying that they were terrible would be an understatement. The Tom Yum wasn't even a soup, I didn't even have to use the spoon at all since there were only mushy noodles and it didn't even have any bean sprouts or veggies. The Pad Thai looked and tasted disgusting, and it had nothing, but soggy noodles. I wouldn't even eat this food if they paid me, let alone having to pay for it. It was an order for takeout, and at closing time, so there was no chance to do anything, but to throw our food into the garbage and to look for something else to eat. To sum it up, this has been the worst food we have ever eaten in our whole lives, and I'll make sure to tell people I know to keep away from this place.
Pad Thai is Absolutely disgusting and completely disappointing! I was excited to bring my Japanese girlfriend for her first Thai Express experience… I spent the rest of the day apologizing to her for making her think it was going to be great. When I was in college I ate Thai Express weekly because it was good. This location was just horrible… the sauce was? I don’t even know how to describe the nasty sauce but it sure wasn’t pad Thai. Zero vegetables, bland chicken and way over cooked noodles…for 12$ are you kidding me?? The lady at the counter wasn’t mean, but I wouldn’t describe her as friendly either. I am just extremely disappointed even a few days later. Sorry Thai Express, but I don’t see you receiving my business ever again. Disgusting!
Not impressed with this Thai express. No veggies in Pad thai shrimp and the chicken general thai with chicken tasted below standard. Sad to see that this brand is going down in quality 😪
Served within a minute of ordering, served at room temperature, not warm. Ordered medium spice, the sauce appears to be some sort of sweet and sour sauce? No spice whatsoever. Disappointing after what I normally receive at other Thai Express locations.

Complete joke of a restaurant. Order food online on a Saturday since they are open till 8:30 on Uber eats. Food doesn t show cuz restaurant is closed but Uber says it went out. This place is a scam and should be charged with fraud.
Great Thai place in the mall. Definitely a better option than the Subway or that terrible donut place in the food court. I got Pad Thai and some amazing sesame chicken!
Always get the pad see-ew beef medium spice. And it has been consistently good fresh and reheated at home
This is by far the best place to eat at the food court shes using fresh ingredients and you can tell. Portion sizes are great too. Been coming here for 10 plus years.
They are great for taking care for cooking the gluten-free options which is very important for those with Celiac Disease. Always delicious and staff are friendly. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

Ordered chicken pad thai. I basically recieved ramen with teriyaki sauce. This was the soggiest thing ive ever eaten noodle wise. This is not pad thai. Its tasty but it was on the wok for 1 minute. Someone needs to teach the cook how to cook.
It is not thai express noodle. She used just one time wok and take less then one minute to cook. It was too bad to eat there. I am not recommend anyone here. Food

Spent almost $20 on chicken pad thai. One bite went in the garbage. Mushy overcooked noodles swimming in a disgusting sauce. Almost like soup.
I ve been eating in this restaurant since long time now I know their food taste usually I order the one in stc mall but after we moved to Innisfil last year I ve ordered the same food One in Georgian mall but the food taste strange not the one I always eat their total taste and the method of making and the flavour everything is different this is what I always eat I don t know the management change or what happens really disappointing

Prices have gone up along and now fountain drinks no longer offered so pay an extra dollar on top of that. Store rarely opens on time with no hours posted. Have come 3 times and while all other food court vendors are open they are closed.
It was soggy, no taste and barely any protein. It takes like spaghetti and I would never recommend. Horrible quality.

Specifically asked for pineapple in chicken fried rice asked 2 times ... and just got 3 pieces of chciken and only carrots .... on other vegi ... the quality of food is very bad as comapred to last years

I ordered pad see ew and the description says Chinese broccoli. There was literally one piece of regular broccoli in the entire order.

I ordered Fried rice with egg. But there is no egg at all. Even no any test seems like they put all the veggies and rice together from yesterday.

Wish I took a picture, ordered green curry chicken with cauliflower rice. It was not edible, the dish was drowning in sauce, vegetables hard with 2 small pieces of brocoli and hardly any chicken. Used to order from there all the time, not anymore.

One star for friendly service. I was given the wrong order and returned it and they were swift and apologetic to replace it but Im not impressed by the food ar all. Ordered the Pad Thai which has no veg as advertised and its swimming in too much sauce that is like eating a mouthful of sugar. I dont recommend.
I place my order and then an oriental lady placed her order after me she received her order before me. When I went to ask why she got served first the only reply I got was sorry. This round eye wont be going back there ever again.
I ordered a vegetarian pad thai to go as my lunch meal. When I got back to my office shortly after, it was evident the store gave me a CHICKEN pad thai! As a vegetarian, I am now without a meal and hungry. I called the store, and the guy that answered the phone was beyond rude, asking what do you want me to do? I asked him for owner/managers contact info, and he said hes not here, I dont have it. This is beyond disappointing, and I am now very hangry.

I have had the number one with chicken over the years and it was amazing. They used to cook it in a wok in front of you. It was hot, spicy and had a nice mix of vegetables, spice, chicken and bean sprouts. Today i made a special stop to get some soup and I could not eat it. Like someone said previously, it was watered down, the taste was lame...it was not cooked as we waited, it was pulled out of a pot and assembled. There was also a tub full of noodles that I dont usually eat. There is no way I will go back. 2 soups for just over $20.00, what a waste...As I live an hour away, it was a wasted trip to boot.

They forgot the basil... in the basil thai fried rice! The beef pad Thai was also made very poorly. Super dry, 2 tiny pieces of beef, and chewy noodles. I looove Thai Express, but at this one, the service & food were very poor quality. We were so disappointed.
0 for Two! What we ended up with was not what was ordered or expected. My wife ordered the Cashew Stir-fry with Chicken and I wanted the Pad See-Ew with beef. What we ended up with was a Cashew Stir-fry with NO cashews and a noodle dish they tried to pass off as Pad See-Ew made with soggy Napa cabbage and not the expected Chinese broccoli. When confronting the Manager/Franchisee it was evident they were aware they did not have the ingredients in the kitchen. They made no effort to notify us of the substitutions or omissions. One may be led to think they were trying to cut corners to save money and pad their profit margins in their choice of ingredients, or rather lack thereof. Ingredients like cashews can be expensive and Napa cabbage is less costly than Chinese broccoli. Having grown up in the restaurant business I don t understand how they can conduct their business in such a way to not deliver on their food promise - especially as a franchise! Looking at recent reviews submitted it is apparent there is a problem with this location. I am sorry to say, this Thai Express is NOT worth considering unless you want to be disappointed. Service was severely lacking and the food was unsatisfactory. FYI: Complaint was formally submitted prior to writing the review and the follow-up received was very generic in nature. No resolution offered or gesture even made. I m not sure if the feedback will even be regarded. I will leave it with you to decide where you want to spend your well-earned dollars. Fortunately there are a number of different, perhaps better, options - even for a food court.

I wish I could have the option of 0 stars. On tuesday me and my friends went to the mall, one of them got a soup from Thai express and 3 of us ate her leftovers. Next day, the one who bought the soup and the 3 of us who ate the left overs got FOOD POISONING. The one who didn t have any was perfectly fine. I can t believe we spent money on something that kept me up all night throwing up and crying of pain. I don t know how the soup was made but it got me terrible FOOD POISONING. To let you guys know how bad it was I lost 7 POUNDS IN 2 DAYS!!!

Went to the mall with my boyfriend yesterday and was eating at a table close to this restaurant and out of no where the worker starts picking his nose while staring at me. DISGUSTING IS ALL I CAN SAY. DONT GO HERE. I have always wondered about trying this place and safe to say it is now a solid NOPE!!!!!!

Awful customer service. The food is delicious but the employees are miserable. I ordered pad Thai, and asked what the sauces were, as they were not labeled. I misheard and said pardon to the employee. He then turned around, and said under his breath that I dont speak English very well. Even though he is mumbling and had a heavt accent.

Most of the time we love Thai Express but for whatever reason the Georgian Mall, Barrie location is awful. The ingredients for the green curry thai are never correct. There is no eggplant. Also the pad thai is never served with tofu, green onion or the radish that is supposed to come in it. It appears as though this location is the only one that deviates from the standard....just very disappointing - and this has been the case for at least the 5 years we have gone to this location.

Thought I would give it a try today because I havent had thai food in 2 years. I ordered spicy chicken pad thai and 2 spring rolls. Not great at all. This place is not authentic at all. Not much flavour...i took it to go. No peanuts in the bag or cilantro. How is this real? This place may be decent to pure Canadians who havent had real thai. Definately not worth $14....
This is one of the best Thai Express I have ever been to.. I love almost everything there. The best that I like is their spicy General Thai Chicken and Curry. They have a lot to offer starting from different types of soups, fried rice and their most famous Pad Thai. They are very generous as they gave me a spring roll complimentary because I waited for my order. They have a great service. I just love it every time when I am there. Hats off!

Today was shocking for me .... For the past 8 years I have been going to Thai Express in the Mall. I make a special trip from the other side of town. Today was different as it was a complete blizzard white out. I made the trip anyway. I love the mix of chicken and shrimp pad Thai they make me there until today. I usually get two large to go bowls and I usually have some left over for a snack later. Today I paid 25.95 for 2 dinky little to go plates. I was disgusted. When I said the to the guy making the pad Thai shrimp and chicken mix ... extra spicy ...that I drove thru the snow storm all the way up here just to have your pad Thai.... All your response was yeah so ? ? . ( you should remeber me because I had a green hand knitted minecraft hat on) id like to thank you personally for the 3 peices of shrimp you put in each dish .... what bothers me even more is the crappy take out dishes you gave me we re not even fillled. I am a business owner in this town , and as a business owner you should be ashamed!! Plain and simple.... here is a picture of what I wasted our 25 dollars on. I could have went to Mandarin for the 19.99 special. I m so annoyed with this business. Thai Express has forgotten how they started .... with business like mine reccomending people make the trip into the mall to try them out. Really ? Shame on you Thai Express..... SHAME .... ON .... YOU!!!
Surprisingly awesome food for a mall. Love the General Thai Beef and the Pad Siew. If youre looking for a fast yet quality meal in the area, give it a try!
General Taos meal was excellent. Spicy and delicious. My wife is happy with her Tom Yum Noodle Soup with beef.

The pad Thai is nothing compare to any other store Ive tried and Im a big fan of Thai express. The noodles are too soft, the sauce isnt the same (no sweetness what so ever), the eggs were not cooked the way it should be and its missing ingredients. Very very disappointed.
