Absolutely amazing evening. We enjoyed the tasting menu with friends, and cannot fault anyone there. My intolerances meant I couldnt have one of the dishes, so was offered an impeccable alternative. We booked our next trip the same night! The service is second to none from everyone there.

Amazing. We went for our anniversary dinner last night and from the moment we stepped in to the moment we stepped out the service was incredible. The menu here does not do it justice, this is a must visit venue for anyone who loves great food and values great service.

Came for my birthday in July. Thought Id already left a review but apparently not. We all had a great time, the gluten free options were fab, had amazing service being shown around the place after our meal, everyone seemed to really enjoy working there and took great pride in their work. I was given a birthday card signed by the team which was a nice touch. The food was top to bottom fantastic with great flavour range, surprisingly it wasnt ridiculously expensive for such a high level dinner and we will as such be able to come back again next time we have something to celebrate. The recent awards are well deserved and this place should be high on your list of places to visit if youre in the area or just passing through

We had a fabulous dinner here. The staff were phenomenal. Lauren in particular went over and above to ensure we had a great meal and was clearly proud of the restaurant and all the staff and showed us behind the scenes which was great. We ll be back!

I cannot recommend The Greyhound in Beaconsfield enough! My boyfriend and I made the trip from London, and it was hands down the best dining experience we ve ever had. What really made it special was the lovely touch of Lauren taking the time to give us a tour and share the history of the pub that personal attention is what drove me to write this review. The hospitality was unmatched, and I would come back again just for that level of service. Lauren even took us out to see the herb and vegetable garden at the back, where they grow fresh ingredients used in the dishes. Such a thoughtful detail that truly elevated the entire meal. The food itself was exceptional, delicious from start to finish. This has easily become my new favorite restaurant, and I m sure we ll be making more trips here just to experience it again. My wife and I had dinner (tasting menu) to celebrate our 1st anniversary at the restaurant last Saturday. We were completely amazed by the food and the service of the team. I think I just wrote wedding anniversary on the booking form, and was not expecting anything, but the team made us feel really special. Above and beyond the expectations! It was a wedding anniversary never to forget. Exquisite food, impeccable service in a beautiful setting. My experience was beyond my expectations, from the anniversary card signed by the staff to the endless supply of the homemade milk loaf and chive butter. There was nothing to fault about the food. The menu was so creative and catered for all palettes. Every mouthful was sublimely delicious. Our wine choice was perfect. A very satisfying, crisp, fruity wine that paired well with our meal. My first visit and I was very impressed. Absolutely gorgeous food and i loved it all. I am normally a steak and chips kind of person and we went for the special occasion of my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Staff where very attentive, very smartly turned out and new there stuff with excellent service giving personal wishes/ congratulations from all staff on my parents big day just made it very personal for them. Nice touch at the end of a cup cake for them of congratulations was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend. Food was fantastic

Came to the Greyhound last month to celebrate my partners work promotion and wanted a good local restaurant experience. All the dishes on the A La Carte menu looked great, but there was also a tasting menu available. We both had to dine from the same menu and as she wanted the tasting menu, thats what we went with. The tasting menu had six courses, option for a seventh truffle course at additional cost. In between certain courses, there were amuse bouche and other small surprises. The tasting menu can also accommodate both vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements. The food was incredible in both presentation and taste. I experienced foods Id never tried before, and probably would have never ordered, such as pigeon breast, or cured gurnard - which were both enjoyable and I now know the taste and texture. The big stand out dishes for me: - Bread and butter. The warm brioche loaf and salted butter was simple but so moreish. This wasnt one of the courses, but made an impact. - Ajo Blanco, not only delicious, but being the first course it set high expectations on the presentation. - Roasted Halibut, usually Im not a fan of lemongrass but it really fit the dish. The fish was beautifully cooked. - The dessert, a deconstructed strawberry shortcake was mind boggling. So many textures, so many flavours. I will say Ive never had a dining experience like this. I do not go to many Michelin listed restaurants so it could be standard, but there were staff who bought the food from the kitchen for final quality inspection. They didnt speak, and could be standing there waiting for 2 - 3 minutes waiting for another member of staff to take the dishes from them - these members staff bought you the food and imparted detailed knowledge on the ingredients and taste profiles. At one point my partner went to the restroom and the food was bought out, the dish was explained to me and a cloche was put on my partners disk until she returned and then received the same explanation of the dish. The thought and standards made the meal feel personnel. This was accentuated at the end of the meal when we were given a tour and history of the restaurant, kitchen, and garden where a lot of their ingredients are grown. I highly recommend the Greyhound. Their menu changes with the seasons and guarantees new options available when you visit. It is an expensive meal out, but I left feeling like I got every penny worth.

If you love fine dining then this is the perfect restaurant. The food and service is exceptional. We had the three course lunch menu, which was fantastic.

We had dinner on a Tuesday and it was surprisingly busy. The food was delicious particularly the duck breast main and pigeon starter all paired with an excellent curated wine list - this is a proper foodie destination. We were looked after beautifully by Rohit who showed knowledge passion and style. We loved every minute - thank you The Greyhound!

We love the Greyhound, they always do everything they can to make you feel welcome and the food is exceptional. It is our go to place for anniversary and birthday dinners because it feels like an occasion to go there. Their menu is like no other and focus is on good quality ingredients, some of which they grow themselves. The people are warm and so knowledgeable, happily telling you about any dish or wine you want to know more about. The dishes on the menu are fabulous but it s the service and care that make them shine above other restaurants. Their outdoor area is beautiful and indoors feels cosy but far from cramped. Very nice place a good find. The staff are very friendly and really take service seriously which is a refreshing change. Clearly theyre all highly trained and excellent at their roles. The food is fantastic, some really nice flavour profiles youll be full at the end but not stuffed which is nice. A few surprises from the kitchen as well! We had a lovely lunch to celebrate my wifes birthday. Excellent food and service with very knowledgable staff. Highly recommended. The attention to detail in all aspects is noticeable and helps to set a very high standard. Theyd even laid out a blanket and bowls for our dog (who we didnt end up taking). Well hopefully be back.

We had a 40th anniversary celebration with the family at the Greyhound. There were 16 of us and from the planning with Margriet and the service on the day with Lauren and the team everything was perfect. The food as always was excellent and the friendliness and efficiency the staff very good. We will certainly be returning.

I was at The Greyhound on Friday 5 April. A treat for my birthday, and an evening to remember! The food was superb, the atmosphere and ambience second to none. The staff, from the owner Dan down, could not be faulted. Their knowledge and attentiveness was just fabulous. I was with my son, daughter in law, and two grandsons, we all had a wonderful evening. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Thank you everyone for a magnificent experience.

I had such a wonderful evening here with my mum - it exceeded all expectations! The food was delicious, all the staff were so kind and attentive, and it had a great vibe (despite it being a Tuesday night when so many restaurants in the area are closed!). They really go above and beyond which was so appreciated - I said we were celebrating a belated Mother s Day and they mentioned it at the door and also brought out a lovely dessert at the end. There were so many lovely touches throughout the meal. Definitely one of the best places in the local area to celebrate a special occasion. Couldn t fault it!

A very pleasurable experience and dinner!

On Thursday it was my wifes 70th birthday and we celebrated it with a meal at The Greyhound, Beaconsfield. We have never eaten there before and were a little apprehensive about celebrating such a milestone event at a never tried before hostelry. We shouldnt have been concerned, as it proved to be a wonderful evening, from our initial greeting at the door to us saying a fond farewell to our new hosts after experiencing an exquisite meal. The attention to detail was exemplary. The service from front of house was equivalent too, if not better than some of the more upmarket hotels Ive experienced. Not obtrusive at all, but certainly incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Our waiter became our best friend for the evening being a font of knowledge, explaining the provenance of each major constituent ingredient of our 7 course taster menu like a master craftsman proud of the creation hed just placed in front of us on our table. The food was a delight ( no, I do not do this justice, each mouthful was a gastronomic experience) and they were more than happy to swap out a couple of courses that would not have been to the taste of our diners. Overall a wonderful experience and although this all comes at a price we felt it was worth every penny. Well done to one an all and a special credit goes to Chef who is clearly a master of his (or her) art of gastronomy.

Wow, I was not expecting this level of culinary and service excellence when I was invited to lunch here. There is a reason this venue has the highest star rating Ive seen. This is not a place to go just because you are hungry but every mouthful will be packed with flavour and finesse. Heading back there tomorrow with the wife, she wants to experience it herself. The wife loved it, were fans! Hay smoked butter, yum. We visited again for a relatives birthday recently and everyone was exceedingly impressed. Its always such a pleasant adventure! We love it here. We have never felt so welcome and comfortable. Dan and Margriet have a special talent for delivering so many unparalleled sensory experiences. Celery sorbet, who would have thought?!

Amazing restaurant. Easily the best restaurant in Buckinghamshire and one of the best we have ever been to. It is similar food to the Hand and Flowers (2 Michelin stars) but the food is better, the service matches if not exceeds it and we found it all round a nicer experience. Highly recommend. Great pub with great service. The owner is a lovely chap and is clearly serious about treating his staff properly which is nice (and rare!) to see in a property. Would have given it a five but some of the food we ordered wasnt available and I wasnt a great fan of the bread and caramel butter that was provided (suspect it was an xmas thing). Food was brave and steered clear of obvious taste tricks like lots of emulsions/sugar/salt etc. All in all a place to be recommended.

Pretty disappointed with the whole experience - will not go back based on our visit on December 28th. Half our party had the sole, half had the steak. Both are extremely pricy considering what you actually receive. Sole: Tasteless, neither of our party ate more than half and we gave this feedback to the staff who questioned why it wasnt eaten Steak: Delicious but incredibly stingy portions. I would estimate you receive at most 3oz of meat. Total cost of meal was around £190 for 4 mains, 2 sides, 5 drinks (2 alcoholic, 3 soft drinks). All 4 of us left still hungry. Service was pretty attentive and thats the best I can say about the place.

What a fabulous place. We visited to celebrate a friends birthday and it did not disappoint. The staff team are all very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list but theyre also very warm, welcoming and friendly. The food is exceptional. We had a variety of dishes from both the lunchtime set menu and the a la carte. I personally enjoyed cured bream followed by Loch duart salmon with a miso and caviar cream sauce, all tasty and beautifully presented. Theres so much attention to detail, from the personal greetings at the door to the birthday card and special dessert for our friend. We cant wait to return!

I m not sure about posting this review because it will no doubt make it even more difficult to book a table! This is no ordinary meal at a pub. This is an exceptional experience with exquisite food of the highest quality. From the divine flavours, beautiful crockery, and warm attentive service to the extra delightful touches, this extraordinary lunch will never be forgotten. Indeed this was not really lunch; this was theatre. We left feeling like we d visited a friend s home and been utterly spoiled.

I can honestly say that I cannot fault this place. Absolutely everything from the first call to book until we walked out the door after our meal was spot on. The service was impeccable and the staff were so friendly and polite. The food was delicious, absolutely everything was made to perfection and you could taste the time and effort that had gone into every dish. The only problem I have is that this place has been open for a long time now and weve only just discovered it! Weve had to put up with numerous mediocre meals at far more expensive places when we could have been coming here... Simply put, if you havent eaten here yet then book now and I promise you wont be disappointed.

Amazing experience tonight. Wife and I both had the tasting experience with wines. Food = sublime Staff = perfect balance of attentive, knowledgeable, and informative Atmosphere = relaxed, classy and made to feel like a vip. Price = very reasonable with everything above considered. Overall = best dining experience in the Marlow, high Wycombe, Beaconsfield area easily, and probably on par with the best London has to offer, certainly was at the standard of some of the best restaraunts Ive been to, including Michelin star ones in UK and New York. Way better than that hand and flower rip off!

Absolutely amazing They call it a pub but the food quality and presentation is fine dining level! The truffle is just incredible. The butter is like nothing else you ve ever tasted before! We will be coming back many times.

One of the best restaurants I have visited in a long time. Incredible service from the owners of the restaurant, which is very unusual these days. The staff are extremely passionate about the service they provide and no request was too much of an issue. The quality of food was exceptional! Bravo! The most incredible team delivering delicious food with the best service I have ever experienced. The whole team are just full of energy, fun conversation, engaging with their customers, unbelievable attention to detail (example: I eat with my knife and fork the wrong way around; by course two, they placed my cutlery in that way). The place itself is so unassuming, I have been lucky enough to try tasting menus at lots of high end restaurants (Michelin 1 and 2 star, yet to make it to a 3*!), the food here is on par with the best 2 star I have ever eaten at. The service is the best I have experienced! I cannot recommend this place highly enough for a special treat. We will be going back and I urge you to get a reservation, you will not regret it. My only regret was I drove and could not do the accompanying wine flight with the tasting menu. These guys are underrated at 4.9 out of 5 and I have no idea what the Michelin Guide are doing by not recognising them as outstanding. A hidden gem, get in there while you can! Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! We made an impromptu visit this evening and was blown away by the hospitality, food and overall experience. Lauren looked after us throughout the evening explaining, in detail, the dishes on offer, which was fine dining at its best. My husband and I had different dishes and they were all superb. Daniel, the owner, is a lovely guy and he gave us a tour of the establishment, including an outside area, which is a must for the warmer weather. One of the easiest 5 stars I ve ever given. I did the vegetarian tasting menu and loved it. I m not even a vegetarian. Friendly staff, amazing food, recommend to all. Flavorful and great presentation as you can see. We didn t do the wine pairing, just got a couple bottles.

My family and I went to The Greyhound to celebrate my brother s graduation meal. From the minute we entered the restaurant, we were made to feel welcome and everyone congratulated him on his achievement. The service was exceptional from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble: we were made to feel like the only guests in the restaurant. We opted for the tasting menu, which proved an outstanding choice with every dish meticulously prepared and made to be a work of art, with the taste to match. We will definitely be returning and recommending to everyone and anyone we can. Thank you Greyhound staff for an amazing evening and rounding off a brilliant day.

Having just returned from a wonderful meal at The Greyhound I couldnt recommend them enough. The service was second to none, from the moment we arrived. Every member of staff was very professional, yet made you feel so welcome. Im yet to decide my favourite course, as the food was continuously to a high standard. Being full of flavour and good quality produce.

First visit and certainly will not be our last. Great service and food, loved by us all (2 adults and 1 teenager). Great vegetarian options and the banana soufflé with the peanut butter ice cream was outstanding. The snacks you can order are great way to try a few extra dishes. We had the bbq chicken (wow) goats cheese (double wow) and the duck and cherry tart (our least favourite dish of the night as we found the dried nori casing was not to our liking). The amuse-bouche s were all really nice with the gazpacho of heritage tomato Consommé being particularly outstanding. The service was impeccable especially from the young lady from California who looked after our table. Thank you to everyone for a great evening.

We went to the Greyhound on the recommendation of a friend and it was such a brilliant experience. The food was incredible; it was beautifully presented, flavours were delicious and we really enjoyed every bite. I really like that there are suggested wine pairings against the dishes on the menu so that if you aren t doing the tasting menu, you could still pair if you wanted to. The décor is wonderful and we had a lovely table upstairs. The way that it is set out means that although there are other people there, it still feels intimate. We also had our table for the entire evening which is rare, and I wish I had not driven so we could have lounged for hours with our wine! The real stars of the experience though are the team. From the minute we walked in, everyone we encountered was genuine, warm and excited. There is a huge amount of passion that is so clear to see and it obviously comes from the top down. We had incredible service from Lauren from the word go; she was engaging and open and we felt so welcomed and at ease the whole time. We were also supported by her colleague who s name I didn t get but recommended the Banana Souffle and knew exactly which port I wanted for my cheese. Finally we had a chat with Dan who is one of the owners and it was such a wonderful interaction. Theres a lot of love for this restaurant and he obviously has his soul poured into it and this shows in every little bit of the experience from the décor, to the food and drinks and mostly in the enthusiasm and dedication of the team. I wish I had worked in a place like this when I was in hospitality and it is to all their credit that it is such a wonderful experience. We ll be returning in the next few months to do the tasting menu and we re both so excited!

So why no AA rosettes?!? Without question this place should have 2 rosettes, and with a few minor tweaks could be knocking on 3. However Im not sure why they emphasise the word pub because all their effort and aspiration seems to be towards top-end fine dining, and they really are trying very hard indeed, so the word pub rather denigrates this. Decor and furnishing is restrained, well thought-out and high quality. The use of soft furnishings to absorb noise results in a relaxed and discreetly upscale ambience. (This was upstairs - we did not look downstairs). The menu is refreshingly compact and well-balanced. Although our party chose to stay a-la-carte, the tasting menu looks well-composed and very good value. With a couple of exceptions every dish our party tried was faultless and beautifully presented. Service is exemplary and with no expense spared on plenty of well-chosen and very well-trained staff, although slightly inconsistent as to whether aiming for informal and perhaps slightly over-friendly, or formal and dignified. Given their apparent aim towards high end dining the latter might be more appropriate, but to be fair that may be a matter of personal opinion and preference. The only minor negatives (for our party) were: The canapes (free) that were a little bland and lacking contrast; The ox cheek croquette that could do with a little more piquancy; The Eton mess that was nothing of the sort, and was very disappointing; The inconsistent checking and replenishing of wine glasses. However these niggles were more than offset by very many high points. The whole experience is enhanced by an abundance of little extras, even with the a-la-carte (canapes, amuse, excellent bread & beurre noisette, pre-dessert, petits fours, bottomless sparkling water) all unexpected and much appreciated. Overall, prices for the quality offered represent very sensible value by fair comparison. The AA need a sharp kick up the fundament! Parking: Public car park and plenty of on-street spaces, but sometimes a short walk necessary.

Relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and delicious food. Perfect for a special occasion

My husband and I went to the Greyhound for our anniversary meal and it was simply exceptional! This place deserves a Michelin star. We did the tasting menu which was absolutely delicious, so well presented and had extras of bread, amuse bouche in between and well worth it. We didn t do the wine pairing but order a couple of glasses to match a couple of courses. The service here deserves a special mention. We had Rohit serving us and wow the attention to detail, the kind warm manner and attentiveness makes you feel truly special. When my husband spilt something on his shirt a few seconds later the waitress appeared with a wipe to clean his clothes. As a special touch we got given an anniversary card signed by all the staff and a little anniversary cake at the end which we took home. Overall a very special and excellent meal!

We had dinner here this evening and the service was fantastic. Hanna deserves a special mention. She was extremely good very attentive and very friendly. However I would have to say the food was a little bit of a let down a lot of it was very nice but my steak was quite tough. Also had the banana soufflé was a bit sloppy and with too much ginger. My husband had a wonderful lunch here a few weeks ago so we will give it another go.

I never write reviews but felt I had to make an exception for The Greyhound. Wow what an experience. We went to celebrate my fathers 88th birthday and my brother and I were treating him. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel most welcome, the additional touches were just incredible. The food was delicious, absolutely amazing. The staff were so knowledgeable and guided us with what wine would be best with each course, even the non alcoholic options they recommended were enjoyable. We arrived for lunch at 1.00pm and left just before 6.00pm. A truly memorable afternoon and I cant wait to go back. An exceptional restaurant, serving incredible food and the staff were so attentive and friendly adding to the whole experience. Thank you so much.

Five of us went for a celebration lunch today. The welcome was terrific & was soon matched by the fantastic & beautifully presented items on the lunch menu. We had all three courses. I cannot recommend the Greyhound too highly for a small group wanting a memorable meal. Great ambience matched by the cuisine & the service which included several delightful little extras.

A fantastic restaurant. Where to start. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very attentive and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for them and I particularly like the diverse range of staff. Even the owner came to the table to say hello. The food was superb. A great variety and excellent portion sizes. As far as I could tell every table was busy and this was at lunch time mid week. Expensive yes but great value for money. I wish I could go every week.

Absolutely fantastic experience! We had a family lunch, having never been before, which well-exceeded our expectations! The ambiance was just right, the food was delicious and beautifully presented and the staff were exceptional. The additional treats in-between the courses were a surprise and tasty; the attention to detail was second to none. Would thoroughly recommend and will return!

Very disappointing. Our table was on the first floor via a steep narrow staircase. This is not suitable for an infirm or elderly person. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The table settings are nice. One is served with warm, somewhat hard, bread roll and butter. and a small soft roll sprinkled with parmesan, presumably an amuse bouche. Everything is served with a flourish. We each had a main dish, without starter. Servings are small on large plates. My wife ordered one of two meat dishes on the menu - sirloin steak which proved somewhat chewy and indifferent flavour. The alternative would have been rabbit. There were two fish dishes which would have been my choice but one with ginger to which I have an aversion which the chef apparently was unable remove. The other fish on offer was coley which is generally regarded as a cheap alternative to cod or haddock. It is used extensively in manufacture of fish fingers. The only other offering was a vegetarian dish with main ingredient of cauliflower. I often choose a vegetarian dish but this was without doubt the worst I had ever encountered. A small piece of cauliflower accompanied by other small, pretty tasteless objects that I could not identify but described as nori dumpling, chestnut mushroom, spring greens. Finally, my wife chose a dark chocolate delice which she pronounced as ok but unremarkable. We have dined in restaurants of many standards worldwide and The Greyhound is both pretentious and for us, one of the worst for food.

Hannah is an example of customer delight.. a beautiful thriving restaurant with real people great food first time Ive done bingo a full house across all. Honestly one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to -- and I used to work at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The staff are wonderful. The tasting menu is divine. Cannot recommend it enough and it is well worth the money.

Try it Its good Food

Second time we ve had lunch there and I cannot speak too highly of this fantastic restaurant. In spite of our first visit being about 6 months ago the manager (co-owner?) recognised us today and was most inviting. The 3 of us had the 3 course Christmas menu at £40 each (£35 for 2 courses is an option). In between the imaginatively presented and delicious starters and mains we were given really tasty and original little amuse bouches. All the many staff were charming and attentive in the extreme - constantly refilling our glasses of still and sparkling water - but never intrusive. We had chosen various dishes from the fairly small selections (always a good sign) and all were perfectly cooked, different and delicious. The extensive wine list is not cheap but very diverse. And any visit to the Greyhound must include a visit to the loos. The poshest this side of the Brighton Pavilion. We are now planning our next visit - staff, ambiance, seating, grub just perfect. Parking: Plenty of street parking around

On our previous visits including a tasting menu , sunday lunch and last year s outside dining experience we ve enjoyed fabulous food and service. But after our lunch yesterday I can honestly say that the bar has been raised to the next level. The service is still as good as it gets but the food under the inspiration of head chef James and pastry chef Chris was definitely the best we ve had so far at the Greyhound. So now on to saturday which started with our hour long drive from east to west arriving in the delightful town of Beaconsfield. It is here that you will find the Greyhound. When we entered we received a fabulous greeting from Tom , Hannah and other members of the team before being escorted upstairs to our table. While catching up with Tom it was nice of them to treat us to a welcome back complimentary glass of sparkling wine which was followed by a delicious savoury choux bun. While looking at the menu it was nice of owners Daniel & Margriet to come over for a nice chat and tell us about their exciting plans for the future which had already started with a bit of refurbishment upstairs and downstairs. Now on to the menu where there s a choice of a lunch menu , a la carte or our decision the tasting menu. With this we chose a fabulous light and fruity Bulgarian Pinot Noir that complimented a majority of the dishes nicely. We started with bread and butter which was followed by a beetroot and pink peppercorn amuse bouche. We now move on to the first course of Burrata di Bufala with a walnut pesto and broccoli that was absolutely delicious. This was followed by a favourite of mine Veal Sweetbreads with jerusalem artichokes and capers that didn t disappoint in the slightest. Next to arrive was the amazing Orkney Scallop with caviar , pickled chilli and cucumber. Next on the list was the optional supplemented Perigold Truffle Gnocchi with chive and parmesan. As my wife enjoyed this I just couldn t resist a dish on the a la carte menu. This was an Octopus Terrine with confit potato , red cabbage purée and lemon that was easily one of the best octopus dishes I ve ever had. We now moved to the main course of the menu a heavenly Harewood Estate Venison Loin with a fantastic cottage pie , smoked cherries and trompettes. This led us to the cheese course and a delight it was to. A Wensleydale cheese with cranberry and thyme which was a nice change from the norm. Now it was time for dessert but not before enjoying a delicious Pineapple and Pink Peppercorn drink. This led us to the dessert itself and a fabulous creation from pastry chef Chris. This was a 46% Valrhona Bahibe Chocolate with malt , passionfruit and caramel that was definitely the best dessert we d had at the Greyhound. We then received a nice surprise when head chef James came up for a chat. This was great as we could personally thank him for the amazing food which we told him was the best we d had at the Greyhound. He was delighted to hear this but you could see that himself and the team were ready to push on to the next stage of their progression. We finished with coffee and petit fours to bring to an end a fabulous dining experience. The food here has definitely been raised to a higher standard so yes I would highly recommend a visit. You will also be given the very best service led by Daniel , Margriet , Andrius , Hannah and Tom. We certainly can t wait to make a return visit again soon. I personally was not impressed. The service was good but too over attentive. The menu was trying too hard to be clever. My main course came out cold. The replacement dish was luke warm. Food should be served hot. Not worth the money.

My phone completely lost the ability to make calls, texts or connect to the internet earlier today when I was trying to find my mother who was supposed to pick me up from Beaconsfield. I was very stressed out and ended up going into the Greyhound to ask if they would be so kind as to let me use the wifi. They were absolute life savers. Not only was I given the wifi password, I was shown to a very comfortable chair and generally treated as a valued customer rather than a random person who had wandered in off the street! I m deeply grateful for the unhesitatingly kind actions of the staff and I ll have to go back at some point to try the food.

We went to the Greyhound last week with friends. I can only say it was a wonderful evening. Friendly, cosy and welcoming atmosphere from Tom, Lauren and the team. The food was incredible. Tom could tell you anything you wanted to know about the wine, food and venue. We had a very informative tour at the end of the evening, and I recieved small birthday cake! Our friends are local but we live further away. We hope to revisit again on our return. Highly recommended throughout.

Ive eaten at many top restaurants and this place is right up there. Waiter was friendly and explained every dish with confidence. Meeting the owner Margriet and having a quick chat at the end was great. My wife said it was the best dessert shes ever had. For me, every dish was of a high standard. Compliments to the Chef and his team. This establishment is definitely going places.

Always an excellent experience, a great example of a restaurant that cares which is very hard to come by nowadays. Very attentive staff, particularly surrounding allergies and they make the experience effortless. Often dining out is a bit of a mixed bag, my partner is coeliac and I always feel comforted that the greyhound is all over it. Fresh seasonal menus, huge wine selection and the knowledge to back it up. I really enjoy visiting and will continue to, keep up the good work gang. The negative reviews are laughable, some people wouldnt know a good restaurant if it hit them in the face.

A beautiful cosy spot in lovely Beaconsfield, we were taken here on our anniversary by our lovely aunt who lives local. I m a huge fan of fine dining and this place was wonderful! What a lovely dinner, the dishes were exquisite and the pace was perfect to really enjoy your time and experience with all the food and flavours! We did the tasting menu for the 4 of us - it was amazing! Every dish could not be faulted, it was hard to pick a favourite, although the lamb will hold a special place in my heart as I do enjoy a good piece of lamb, and the lovely soup dish!! The staff are so friendly, we were given a small tour of the lovely place after - stunning dining area upstairs perfect to hire out! The outdoor seating area is also fantastic! The owner also kept checking in on us which was just so nice and welcoming :) fantastic place - highly recommend! Thank you all for making our anniversary special, thank you Dan, Marquit, Luca, Emma, Tom, Don, James, Otte, Isabelle, Lauren and Hannah. Sorry if I missed anyone or spelt any names wrong!!

What a fantastic experience from the ambiance to the food! Absolutely top class service and made our anniversary a really special night to remember. Tommo was fantastic with his service and Dan the owner even took on a personal tour of the entire venue with a detailed history of everything from the cocktails to the building! We have already booked our next dinner and can t wait to see what new delights will be on offer, if you re in Beaconsfield this place is a must and if you don t have time to try their exceptional tasting menu, then why not have a beer or a cocktail with some excellent nibbles!

We had a lovely meal at The Greyhound on Friday. Food is high quality and each meal comes with all the extras youd expect from a high end restaurant such as canapes, bread (amazing!), amouse bouche and pre dessert. All the dishes we tasted were well cooked. Even better than the food though was the service. We were the first table in and until the end of our meal we were looked after extremely well by everyone (including both owners who were interacting with tables throughout the evening). The food is fairly priced for this level of restaurant (which is clearly not cheap). They do have a really great value lunch menu if you dont want to splurge too much! We will definitely be revisiting and you should if youre in the area. Parking: Amble free parking outside and across the road.

If I could rate this zero stars then I would. I went to The Greyhound for dinner on 22nd July 2022. There was 4 of us and we all ordered the tasting menu - I am pescatarian so I ordered a pescatarian tasing menu. The waitress asked us if we had any food allergies and I reminded her that I was pescatarian. Despite this, I was given pork for the amuse bouche, and I thought it was described as mushroom - it wasnt until I eat some that I realised it was pork! As a Michelin Guide restaurant, I did not expect to be served pork as part of a pescatarian tasting menu. This was very disappointing. The biggest disappointment was how the restaurant handled the situation, describing it as a Mis-communication. There was no mis-communication, just incompetence on the restaurants part. This would have been far more serious if I was pescatarian because of an allergy! We were told that this was a training issue but we have eaten at the restaurent before and know that our waitress has worked there for some time and should have already been trained. The training requirement is not only required on the different food preferences and allergies but also in how to handle issues like this when they arise. We regret not walking out when this happened rather than spending a large amount of money at the restaurant but we will not be goinhg back.

Dined here for my partners birthday and the service and the food was 1st class, Lauren our server was very professional and friendly. Lauren explained each course as we received it, my partner had the Vegan tasting menu and i had the non vegan tasting menu. Both menus were executed with such precision and flavour, each course wowed us and they even served a few extra courses as its was my partners birthday. After the delicious meal we were treated to a tour of the beautiful establishment and met the chefs aswell. A thoroughly enjoyable visit with stunning fine dining food and exceptional service. It was our first time at The Greyhound. We went there for a special occasion; our first anniversary. Everything was perfect; the food, service and ambience. We were sitting outside and kept receiving very pleasant surprises. As professional gardeners, we were delighted to hear that the establishment practices food-to-fork, growing vegetables in raised beds and using the produce to accompany various dishes. We enjoyed their little touches, including an anniversary card signed by all the team, and the little cupcake which accompanied our dessert and coffees. An extra thank you to our waitress Lauren who went the extra mile by giving us a tour of the establishment, and whose service was impeccable. We will definitely revisit. We are intrigued to try the upstairs area.

What a great surprise. I booked the Greyhound for my husbands birthday and what a fantastic venue. The food , service , decor, everything was superb. It is hard to point which one was best without being fair to others but Lauren!! You were such a star! You made our night so special , My husband loved the wine course and all your explanation about each one of them and I was there just wishing I had ordered myself because it made me want to try to. The food was beautiful , I hope the Greyhound is on its to a Michelin start soon because we really enjoyed the experience and will be back. The owner did a fantastic job with every detail.

Nice venue and food ok

Best dining experience Ive had on three week trip to the UK. The highlight was Guinea fowl with black garlic matched with Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir. But every dish was an experience. Absolutely charming staff, gorgeous dining room, brilliant food and wine matches.

This place is an absolute gem. The food and drinks are all delicious and fantastic, but more than that, the whole experience of just being there is 5-star. The staff are brilliant, the owner makes a special effort to introduce himself and chat to diners, and all the little touches add up to a unique experience.

Good food, lots of exciting flavours that work well together. Impeccable service. Cosy environment. Would definitely go again.

Our first visit, but certainly not the last. The food, the staff, the wine list - all were simply wonderful and made for a delightful evening. The nibbles (designed to give you something small to whet your appetite whilst perusing the menu) were all exquisite. The four of us had fairly different menu choices across two courses and every single dish was cooked perfectly. The fish was just set (not overcooked as far too many places seem to think is acceptable). The wine list is so extensive and the staffs knowledge of it was really impressive. I could not find fault in anything across the evening (something I can not say of several Michelin-starred restaurants we have visited recently). We will certainly be back (probably again and again)!

A fabulous evening. We went as a birthday party where we were taken care of in an exemplary attentive manner. We all had the taster menu which was a perfect decision. We enjoyed cocktails and all sorts of other wonderful extras which were made and delivered perfectly. The staff were exceptional! Thank you for a memorable evening.

One of the best restaurant experiences I ve had. Food is incredible. Service is equally as good. They care so much about the food & wine they offer and do all they can to make sure the experience is the best it can be. Would go every week if I could. Excellent! Everything about the Greyhound is Excellent! Our 3rd visit in 2021. Daniel and Margriet have set the benchmark very high with their team, service, ambience, food and drinks. A recommendation lead to our first booking and the others have been for birthday celebrations; that place we trust to deliver everytime is now The Greyhound. Lauren and Jo provided superb service today - in fact everyone in the team made the birthday today a celebration to remember - nice card signed by everyone on the team on the table when we sat down - thank you Dan for the impromptu singing! It made us all happy and the jesture was well received! Especially the two Celebrating birthdays. Credit to the Chefs - wonderful flavours and fantastic presentation - I hope you are rewarded with Michellin stars! We will be back soon. FAB4!

Excellent will be going again

We stumbled into the Greyhound whilst in the throes of a epic and stressful motorway detour, and by some stroke of luck bagged a table for lunch on our anniversary. What a happy accident! The staff accomodated for our 18 month duracel baby despite not having specific baby facilities and even tailored a smaller menu for her. Food was delightful and setting warm and relaxed (aside from the odd outburst from an unrestrained toddler - apologies to the other diners). Will be telling everyone we meet about the parmesan choux amuse bouche and the apple crumble drink and all the other nice touches in between!

One of my favourite restaurants in the UK, Ive been lucky enough to visit a number of highly rated fine dining restaurants but I look forward to visiting The Greyhound the most because the food and the service are equally excellent. We always get such a warm welcome from Dan, Margriet and their brilliant team. Everything I have tried on the menu has been exceptional and I cant wait for my next visit. Very highly recommended.

Went to the Greyhound for a birthday lunch. We were looked after by the very capable Tom who made this one of the best dining experiences I ve had for a long time. The attention to detail is superb, and the creativity in the menu is wonderful. It s extremely rare to find fine dining so good without a hint of pretentiousness. Dan and the team are building something truly special here. I can t recommend it highly enough

Just the very best place! Everyone is happy and friendly, the atmosphere is delightful, and the food oh, my word the food Would strongly recommend the taster menu, with wines to match. It is obvious that a great deal of hard work and thought has gone into the whole experience. The Team might be in the top 100 (and congratulations, by the way) but for me and My Girl, it s number one.

Outstanding attention to detail and customer service. The Greyhound in my view is easily one of the best restaurants in the South Bucks area. The food is that of a high class London establishment and the management set up is top class. Staff turnover is next to nil resulting in a super friendly service which makes you want to go back time and time again. Daniel and Margriet, the owners, have worked the floor every time we have been there - which nowadays seems a rare thing for the boss(es) - but in my view is critical in adding to the overall customer experience. The food is excellent and ever changing. If you havent been and are in the area do make a piont of visiting.
