Italian restaurant and wine bar in the heart of Beaconsfield New Town
I have been here on a few occasions, with family and with work and I can safely say it is one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is always fresh and to a high standard. Its authentic Italian food run by Italians so there service is always reflective of that. Friendly, attentive and fast. We had a particularly great Christmas Party where they hosted 15 of us for 3 courses and it was a very special evening. I look forward to going back soon. Order the Foccacia and Tiramisu its the best!!
Amazing restaurant. Brilliant service. Fantastic food. Outstanding cocktails! We will be back.
I have had the pleasure of dining and drinking at Bacchus several times, and every visit has been fantastic. Patrik, who is essentially the face of the restaurant, is not only a great host but is a brilliant chef where his talent and passion shines through in every dish he creates. The entire team at Bacchus is equally fantastic - friendly and dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience. On my most recent visit, Bacchus faced an unexpected power failure in the kitchen on a busy Saturday night. Despite the circumstances, the team went to great lengths to ensure that everyone still enjoyed their meal/night. The food they crafted under pressure was remarkable, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. It's truly impressive how they turned a challenging situation into yet another memorable experience. Bacchus is my favorite restaurant in town, and I recommend it to anyone seeking great Italian food and excellent service. Also a great spot if you are after great wine or cocktails. You won't be disappointed visiting Bacchus! Images are from my many fantastic visits
Started with just a drink and could not leave without a whole meal. Fantastic service, Patrick and Marta are fantastic - they gave us the best recommendations and got us a space for dinner. Delicious Tagliatelle, every bite had a meat in it. The sidra was also great
Fantastic. Perfetto. Highly, highly recommend Bacchus to everyone. Patrik is absolutely amazing (The Best Egg) he always goes above and beyond with everything, and I’m yet to find something that man can’t perfect. The food is incredible; I travel across Italy and had better dishes in Bacchus, truly sensational. I can’t recommend this place enough. Go and enjoy.
Truly excellent food, photos of what we tried are attached. Tasted so fresh and so good. The Parmigiana was so tasty we ordered another one. They also have very good kids options. The staff are super welcoming, kind and helpful. Lovely interior decor and atmosphere. 100% recommended.
Casual Italian with friendly service. Halibut was buttery the chickpea casserole was a bit on the watery side. Was skeptical of the tiramisu appearance but it tasted great.
Sunday lunch at the Beacon Bistro.. Each time I have eaten here I have never been disappointed. Today I really fancied a mixed Sunday roast and once again, spot on. Great environment, friendly service, good menu choices. The chef is so very flexible and helpful if you want a twist to your meal or something that isn’t on the menu. That’s when you know the ingredients are fresh and the chef is naturally great at when he does.
Best food and espresso martini in whole Of Buckinghamshire Food
It was an unplanned stop here for lunch on our driving holiday and my family of 4 were immensely happy we chose Bacchus. We arrived as the restaurant was opening but were made very welcome. We had just two choices form the menu: 2 of us chose the Tagliatelle (authentic Bolognese ragu`& parmesan) and the other 2 had the Linguine (with squid, mussels, prawns, cherry tomatoes, chilli, garlic & white wine sauce). Each dish was superbly presented and tasted glorious. I forget the name of the person who served us but he was funny, charming and oh so friendly. Bacchus is highly recommended and if ever I found myself in these parts again, I would surely drop by for a meal.
Cibo italiano meraviglioso, servizio fantasico co torneremo. Wonderful Italian food, fantastic service and we shall go again. Vegetarian options: It is good to have the option Dietary restrictions: I like a choice
Excellent service, food atmosphere, always feel taken care of here. Wonderful place! Highly recommend
What a generous fabulous lunch - Thank you Marta for your wonderful service
Excellent food, wine and service ... a proper Italian restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit.
Amazing food, the calamari especially was cooked to perfection. The fish stew is incredible.
Absolute superb food & incredibly lovely staff
Patrik was great and very accommodating. He made us special dishes that were not even on the menu. Simply delicious. The wine list is quite exceptional and very well priced. Ash & Roh
We had a super celebration at Bacchus with my family. Chef Patrick and his team made it a memorable occasion, with delicious food and fabulous drinks. Highly recommend this gem in Bucks!
Food was mediocre over cooked pasta food came out late than the rest of order and chef was rude
The best restaurant in Beaconsfield! I have been here twice and the food & service have been impeccable. Would recommend for anyone looking for a delicious meal!
We just had such a wonderful meal at Bacchus that we made another reservation before we left. The food was sooo good and the service was super friendly. This is my new favourite restaurant and Ill be recommending Bacchus to everyone!
Great restaurant with excellent service and food. Really accommodating our kids, we will definitely return.
A quiet night but freshly prepared frito misto and chicken Milanese. An undiscovered local gem. Great service too.
We have been here a number of times however they absolutely smashed it out of the park for my husbands 30th amazing evening with amazing food! I have had messages and nothing but compliments for the whole experience
Absolutely loved Bacchus! Really attentive waiter and excellent food. Will 100% be going back soon to try the rest of the menu.
Hidden little gem of beaconsfield. Authentic itallian hearty food with great service. Was allowed to also try some authentic itallian beers and cider (not just peroni) that had great tastes to complement the food. Would recommend to everyone to try.
Parking: Parking good Food
First time in since lockdown, and what a great atmosphere. Food was delicious - sea bass recommended! Libby our waitress was brilliant. Highly recommended
Excellent dinner - friendly, competent service and delicious food. Surpassed our expectation. The arancini and tiramisu were particularly good.
Really excellent food, probably the best classic Italian cuisine and a wide selection of Italian wines. Chaf Patrick knows his stuff!
This review is going to be all about the food. My partner Jo had previously eaten at Bacchus and told me that I would love the food and I m not going to lie it was fantastic. Many times I ve eaten out at so called Italian restaurants and been left really disappointed. From start to finish the food was absolutely delicious, the Arancini was super tasty , my partner and both had it as a starter. I had the Carbonara and Jo the Beef Ragu both were beautifully cooked. Just as a side note the bread and olives were delicious as well. Patrik the chef is an Italian cooking proper Italian food and before I forget the two young ladies serving and running the bar were superb as well. Great night and fantastic food, if anyone is looking for real Italian food in Beaconsfield you must must visit Bacchus. Keep it local!!!! Rino & Jo Beaconsfield.
We went on an evening when they did a set menu including wine. The wines were paired beautifully especially with the clams and Italian sausage. We also had octopus and finished with a fabulous cheesecake. Excellent food. Would definitely recommend.
Mid week so one would expect it to be quiet but AT LAST authentic fresh Italian food superb if you appreciate proper Italian food if this place isnt successful then people who live in the area have no idea about good Italian food
Nice place, people are very friendly. Ill definitely I come back. Food
Amazing venue , fantastic Italian food and a great vibe. Who not to love. Highly recommended
Excellent food, one member of staff on the evening we went, she was very busy but still had excellent service x
The most welcoming place to feed your soul with good food and company! The chef knows his textures and flavours, and I felt I was on holiday somewhere exotic! Very age friendly atmosphere, and the staff are Amazing! I cant wait to go again!
Lovely meal. Nice set up. Very friendly & Lovely people.
Huge thanks to the very kind woman who made us hot drinks to warm us up after breaking down on the M25 today Your kindness is much appreciated
We enjoyed a fabulous lunch with our kids, when it comes to a Sunday roast the Beacon knows exactly what its doing The wine list is also has some really interesting options, also very reasonably priced.
We booked for lunch and the one waitress on duty was polite and attentive but overwhelmed and needed help as she was also serving at the bar. The food took more than one hour and the tart was very burnt and had to be sent back. Really poor given the prices. They agreed to a discount off the bill but it should never have come to that.
If I could give zero I would!! Terrible experience from start to finish... rude owner
The calamari here is absolutely UNREAL!! The interior is beautiful and the vibes are lovely, we had tapas and it was easily the best tapas I ve ever had. The staff were lovely and the service was exceptional, the chef is absolutely incredible and we re looking forward to coming again. :)
Always great service, food is superb, fresh and tasty. Love the seafood sharing plate, menu gives great options, a bit for everyone.
Great Sunday lunch .staff helpfull . And friendly.
Run by a gorgeous manageress, a little quiet but most of Beaconsfield was too.
Great for a quiet drink when everywhere else is busy and noisy.
Fantastic food - each course a delight
Service was great! Food was fantastic! Soup of the day was exceptional. The new chef clearly knows Italian food. And very reasonable. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We will be back Vegetarian options: Some veggie options available.
Love this place, and its wine menu. Delicious arancini, and perfectly cooked pork, with nicely balanced flavours. Perfect to accompany the great choice of organic and natural wines. Wish wed had time to stay for dessert. An excuse to return.
Had a wonderful meal last night at the newly opened Bacchus restaurant. The arancini were delicious as was the seafood linguine. We will definitely be back.
Sorry to say that our experience yesterday afternoon 18/12/22 was far from enjoyable, cold, no atmosphere and no warm welcome, can t say much about the food either! So no recommendation from me!
The seafood linguine was great, as was the goat cheese salad, will be back to try more from their menu... (I reserve 5 stars for something that simply cannot be beaten but if I could I d rate this meal 4 & 1/2)
Great steak and frites. Service was also great.....very attentive and very friendly- think her name is Sammy (wearing glasses)!
We were really looking forward to the first time going out for a dinner in more than half a year after the long and exhausting lockdown. I booked a table for a dinner with Opentable three weeks in advance. Then 10 days in advance I gave the restaurant a call to make sure they indeed planned to reopen and had our reservation recorded. They assured me on the phone that they had my reservation and everything was fine. I double checked again on the day of our visit. When we arrived we were told that the only table they could offer us was a drinks table squeezed into a car parking lot at the entrance at the distance from other tables which definitely didn t look Covid compliant. They told us that our reservation did not specify that it should be in a dining area, and that all tables in the dining area were booked. At no point in my phone conversations with the restaurant did they mention that they had different seating types or asked me which type of table we needed. It was quite obvious that our booking via Opentable was for a dinner. We refused to take that inadequate table offer and they later cancelled my Opentable reservation preventing me from leaving a review there. What a disgusting way to treat customers looking forward to a first dinner out after such a long break.
Had a reservation ( first time out post lockdown), which was confirmed by phone. Unfortunately upon arrival, there was no table available, other than an inprovised one on the sidewalk (The restaurant has a garden). Very diaappointing. Will not return.
Very food and very friendly staff
Spectacular charcuterie, carpaccio of beef was some of the best I have had ( anywhere) Great wine selection - a hidden gem
Incredible food with a great wine selection and attentive staff
Extremely tasty food! Good service too.
Fabulous food, and warm and welcoming staff.
Excellent food and service, the chef even came out to talk through the gluten free options with me, which was very reassuring. Adapted my meals to make them gluten free with the minimum of fuss. Thank you!
Delicious food and attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit!
Lovely place to eat and drink. The foods is fantastic and very tasty. Staff are brilliant. All in all at great place to visit
First visit, very impressed.
I did not visit the bistro but I was sleeping in the studios above. They did not care about the neighbours at all. They had a party shouting and loud singing until well past midnight.
Thanks a lot for last night. We had a fantastic evening with our friends, food was delicious. All was perfect
No vibes here, small outside area and small inside too
Absolutely delicious roast dinner. Highly recommended
Initially upon seeing the menu, I felt that it had limited options but the choice of food was still varied enough that it wasnt a concern. The food was great and service was very good. The chips truly made for a fine dining experience and they were pure perfection
Over priced
The Beacon is something of a hidden gem. In my opinion, it is the best restaurant in the Gerrards Cross/Beaconsfield area. The chef, Lord Tobias, is very skilful and innovative, and he is able to tailor dishes from the menu to suit individual tastes. The food is Michelin quality and is exceptionally good value. Coupled with this, the wine list is diverse and very reasonably priced. Overall, the friendly and welcoming ambience makes for a very special evening out. Highly recommended.
Stunning little gem in Beaconsfield
Lively friendly place, we will be back soon. Milly really looked after everyone and worked hard. Thanks Milly.
Went here just after the main lockdown. They have a bar which opens out to the street. Got a bottle of UK wine made locally and spent a pleasant evening drinking it. Went again this weekend for a drink and starter. Had the goats cheese and beetroot ... Well done and balanced. Will go there again. Staff very good. Very organised in the Covid environment.
Great little bar and restaurant with great customer thank you. Went here after terrible service at beech house so left. Had a drink and really warm welcome and great customer service with no app needed. Will be back lovely atmosphere so thank you.
Very French bistro. Nice ambience and great food, even better with fine out discount will be back.
Lovly Food and friendly staff
Great staff who provided great service.
Just eaten here for the first time since it was Stix. I used to work here when it was Stix too. Its much better now. The food, the atmosphere, and everything is much better. I highly recommend it! Go try it as soon as possible!
Great place under new management, the wine selection is fantastic. Apparently going into refurb now I cant wait to see it once its done!
Friendly staff and decent food
Fantastic refurb! Lovely meal and great wine. Will be back again soon.
Great meal and Great wine! Really liked the owners, couldnt do enough for us.
Good steak ;) has some nice tapas too.
Popped here on Saturday afternoon for drinks and dessert after an awful experience at Jungs around the corner. Was greeted by the lovely man behind the bar and the service was top notch. Will be coming back soon for the beef wellington.
Small but perfectly formed. Nice buzz about the place.
Lovely little pub in the new town. Try the red wine by the glass. Good value
Lovely friendly restaurant. Great food and a car park right next door
Great food, great atmosphere and really good service. Wine excellent too
Smashing
Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast. Almost ordered another plate, it was so delicious. Service was outstanding.
First class addition to Beaconsfield and the new fish Friday is a must do event. Tobias the chef is very helpful and can suggest various options to tempt any discerning palette.
Food was disappointing, especially for the price, both dishes where extremely salty, fish didnt seem fresh. However good service and nice setting. Has potential with the right chef and menu.
Had the most delicious fish platter last Friday served by the very friendly chef Tobias. Very hospitable and friendly staff - am looking forward to spending more time here and sampling the rest of the menu
I have eaten there twice now and has a mixed fish plater, then Hake for my main course. On both occasions I was blown away by the quality of cooking and cannot recommend it highly enough. Give them a try.
service was exceptional. food lovely
Simon has done a great job here putting in a top team and a fantastic menu ,highly recommend
Cant beat Stix secret little pub in Beaconsfield.
Loverly laid back hostelry, it is what a wine bar should be. First class!!!!
Portion size of tapas has got a lot smaller since going there 2 years ago and some dishes were barely warm. Great atmosphere though.
Very good place
Small & Friendly restaurant - great food. Will be going back soon for more.
Food is ok but the interior a little tired.
The food was not up to standard for the price. I dont recommended this restaurant.
Absolutely disgusting would not recommend going to there was string in my steak and it tasted dreadful.
Excellent food. Owner ran restaurant. Food is excellent.... Only problem is there is a long wait. Highly recommend
Friendly and inviting - good for snacks and meals a small bar area but staff really friendly and often find a local to chat with. Convenient for the station and other New Town Beaconsfield facilities... frequented by Town Councillors we are told
Stix is one of the great small independent restaurants in Beaconsfield new town, with a wealth of options... You can pop in for a couple of drinks and some tapas whilst sitting at the bar, or take a table and have a larger selection. Stixs also has a great striction of steaks, and is one of the best location for steak in the area! A favourite of ours whenever we come into town! A must try!
