I don't even know where to start. I've never left a restaurant angry until today. I couldn't wait to get out. I would have left any place after being left alone for the first 45 minutes with nothing but the initial glass of water. But this was a birthday for one of my parents, so we just waited. I've never had to wait over 1.75 hours for food. Even at really busy places, which this wasn't even at half capacity. Glad one appetizer showed up at the 1 hour mark. Server forgot about the initial drink order for an hour. The food. No one in the party of 6 was impressed. I had the "salmon". You know the tasteless, rectangular things you get from giant tiger? Ya, it was that. Garlic mashed potatoes - one of the cheapest staples - was war rationed. Veggies were good, but a rabbit would starve with the volume served. I didn't bother with dessert as I didn't feel like waiting another 2 hours to be disappointed. The bill was over $150 for 4 people. My parents wanted to pay for their own. And to top it off, the server couldn't even split the bill correctly. Remember, pay of 6? 4 on one bill, two on the other. I've tried to keep this review PG. But I will always be honest. At least the place was clean but atmosphere can't make up for it. Which is too bad since I went there to eat, not view art at a gallery. In summary, Walmart sushi would have been a better choice and I'll never recommend this place let alone visit it again.
We stopped in for a glass of wine and a nibble. The waitress was great and very attentive. Their saganaki with olives and grape tomatoes was different and went so well together, so we ordered a second one. This is our second time stopping in, and I have not been disappointed yet. Keep up the good work.
Just stopped in for lunch on our way to TO. Food was very fresh and delicious. The service was amazing. Didn’t catch her name, she was lovely!!
Very pleasant surprise! Unique offering for breakfast options such as banana bread french toast (have you ever heard of such?!) I had the brioche blueberry cream cheese french toast. Such a feast for the eyes, and even more delight to the palate! So amazing I had to come back right away. Service, as amazing as the food, bars above what is tolerated these days. Love that they have a patio and many pieces of art from local talented artists. Thank you Birdy's...you will be a priority stop when I visit Belleville again.
Both my wife and I had dinner at Birdy's recently and had the pan-fried pickerel and cremini chicken. The pickerel was ok, not that special, and the sauce on the chicken was granular. For a 'fine dining' establishment, we expected more. Prices are about 15-20% higher and you expect a better meal than the larger restaurants (i.e. Montana's, etc.). Windows and menu were dirty, but the washrooms were clean, albeit outdated. Service was good. I'm not sure we'll be back soon.
This place is one of the best places to eat in Belleville. Consistently good food, and we've tried almost everything. The steak is great, duck wings are awesome, and the service is good too. A few craft beers on tap.
I don’t often leave negative reviews but I was incredibly disappointed by this restaurant and I would strongly discourage anyone from dining here, especially if ordering takeout. My grandmother placed our order over the phone while my mom picked me up from the train station (I was coming from Toronto for Christmas break). I wanted the roasted vegetable sandwich and had asked my grandma to order it with a side of soup if the soup of the day was vegetarian (because I do not eat meat). If not, to just order me a side salad. We ended up ordering 2 sandwiches, each with a side salad and 1 extra side order of soup. My mom opted for the mediterranean linguine with chicken. The food was ready right on time and we brought it to my grandmother’s house. We were starving and ready to eat! But upon unpacking our order we discovered our soup was missing. I also noticed that the roasted vegetable sandwich was lacking the hummus that the menu said it would come with. We called the restaurant to ask about the lacking elements and they said that they no longer serve hummus on the sandwich and haven’t for 2 years. So be warned if you are ordering takeout, the online menu is horrifically outdated. Re: the soup, they offered to let us either come back for it or refund us in the form of a gift card. We went back for the soup since we will never be returning here so a gift card would do us no good. My mom, my hero, drove back to the restaurant to get my soup. The staff was incredibly apologetic and actually gave us a second soup for free. Anyway, the soup, which we were told was leek and potato, was actually leek, potato, and BACON. And just to remind you, I don’t eat meat. However, I dodged the bacon bits and was able to consume a few spoonfuls. It was not worth it. My mom’s pasta was an abomination. Excessive oil pooled at the bottom of the container and some of the pasta was all stuck together (refer to the photos), rendering it inedible. The only positive was that there was a decent amount of chicken. As seen in the photos the sandwiches were dry. The chicken one had one splotch of sauce and it was literally just a piece of chicken and some greens. The veggies were half heartedly thrown onto my sandwich—all the peppers in a pile atop a chunk of onion. It is clear that whoever prepared our meal did not make an effort to make it appealing or tasty. The only reason we ate any of this was because we were starving and the reason we got takeout was because I had just returned home from travelling. I try to be gracious when it comes to restaurant mishaps but this was an incredibly upsetting experience and given that there was a consistent lack of quality across all the items we ordered, I think this really was more than a “mishap” and that the restaurant is not doing a good job. I’m sorry Birdy’s, but this sucked. </3
Busy restaurant with decent food and good service. We came in around noon on a Saturday, which I imagine is one of the busiest times of the week. We were seated immediately but it did take some time for someone to tend to our table as it seemed everyone in the restaurant was also ordering at the same time. As a group, we tried the burger, mussels in white sauce, grilled cheese, and smoked salmon. I myself ordered the burger, which is supposed to be 'seasoned to perfection' - if I'm being honest it didn't taste very seasoned to me. Not even with salt! I also found it very dry and had to wash it down with water. With some generous portions of ketchup I did finish it but I definitely have had better burgers. The fries were good. The rest of my group enjoyed their meals. The prices are definitely reasonable for their generous portions but I'd probably order something different next time.
Great breakfast options, love the Ceasar and omelettes. Lovely patio at the back overlooking a park-like green space. Service is consistently friendly and efficient. We had always considered this primarily a brunch destination but we recently dropped in for dinner and it was even better for dinner ... Seared tuna starter was so delicious I dont want it to end. I could easily have stuffed myself with a few of these and called it a main. But the prime rib was almost as good so I was happy I didnt. Still our favorite brunch venue in the Belleville area. But well be back for dinner too.
Great Breakfast with the family. Food wonderful as always and service was spot on!
Wish read reviews first poor quality period
Great food and portions. Casual fun vibe.
Not a fancy place but always a great breakfast I took away an overall star as its not wheelchair accessible which is unfortunate when dinning with a senior Wheelchair accessibility: Its not at all accessible to get in or the washrooms .
Edit: make sure you call in advance we have been here twice only to be turned away because they have a special event. The food is absolutely worth it. Meals were delicious, ambiance top notch, excellent service! Looking forward to our next visit. Creme brulee cheesecake is a must try!!!
I went and get a club sandwich and poutine on break. I got a small poutine and my club chicken sandwich which was on a hamburger bun. I paid $25. A big pountie is $8. I feel like I got ripped off but the place and people seem nice.
I was in Belleville for the day with 2 friends and needed a place where we would all find something for lunch. As the only vegan the options here caught my eye, and I also knew my non-vegan friends would be happy with the rest of the selection. I had the vegan Linguine and it was delicious. Too often vegan pasta at restaurants is tasteless because they just remove the cheese but this linguine had a flavourful sauce with tomatoes, garlic, peppers, and black olives. Came with a lovely little fresh side salad. It was nice to be able to just order a vegan option without having to explain or confirm with the wait staff that it would be indeed vegan. Would highly recommend!
Had a great breakfast
The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing.
Breakfast at Birdy s!.. in town visiting from Toronto and had to go back, it was just as tasty and delicious as last time! Thank you, Anita! for great service! Planning on returning for dinner before I leave for home!
Always wonderful! Food, service, and the views are all terrific!
Whipped ice coffee for the win, looking forward to trying the blueberry cream cheese French toast...manager was a bit loud in direction of backhouse staff, which customers really dont want to hear (well maybe some do lol) but our server was good and otherwise the atmosphere was great Dietary restrictions: Im gluten free.
Great food prices and service
Always good food and great service.
Good food and service
Usually always phenomenal food and service is sometimes good with Eles, I think her name is! But honestly with the new staff its not the same.
Tiny portions. Cant see how they could make them any smaller and call it a meal. Never go back .
It was great!
Just to preface, this is a review based solely on the food. The service was fine, as per usual, no complaints there. Our server was very lovely and energic. (And I am sorely sorry to those who had different experiences!) I came to learn recently that Birdys has come under new ownership within the last year or so. As such, the menu has changed and the quality of the food has more certainly dropped. We used to go there pretty often for special occasions. Birthdays, meetings, etc. Before, the menu boasted variety and class in Belleville that could not top other restaurants. Yet in dining here again in June, 2024, I am sad to say that they have eradicated a good majority of their menu for basic and mundane pallets. My spouse and I used to go for their vegan options which surpassed most other places weve tried, yet were surprised to find that the stroganoff we often eat was no longer there. Half the vegan menu was erased. Instead replaced by the simplest and cheapest of curries and another dish. Two options. Two, compared to the four-five that were given before. Also very curious to claim it as a vegan dish when the kitchen nor the new owners have read the packaging on the pita bread that accompanied it. (It was not Vegan so if vegans are eating here, please beware!!) The portions were also a bit small for the extravagant prices. It was one of our favourites and I hope to see return to what it was prior to the ownership change, but it is clear that the new owners are less inclined to think about quality and more inclined to think about the profit it generates. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
Its always a pleasure to visit Birdys. Great food, kind staff and a nice atmosphere that works for adults and the kids.
First time eating here, and wasnt disappointed. Great food, perfect portions. Will definitely be back and will definitely recommend!
Last year, at our celebration everyone was happy with our meals and service. We reserved again this year, but were very disappointed. One persons food was not served by 8pm and she left without eating. Two of us at our table were not served what we ordered. I would not return in the future.
Always head to Birdys for the Prim Rib...! Tap selection is looking up also...!
Got to love a sandwich with Bacon and Steak!
Food was great. Service was friendly but very slow for a late afternoon that wasnt too busy Dietary restrictions: They did well for those in our group who required gluten free meals
Excellent food
Menu has changed and the food was not very good. Service was not the best either.
Ordered a hamburg; when it arrived, I asked if they had relish and mayo. The waitress said that she would be right back but certainly wasnt. I decided to eat as it was getting cold. Condiments arrived on my second last bite.
Food was very good. The highlight of our visit. Portions could be larger as we left still somewhat hungry. Servers were nice. The service was somewhat slow.
I came in having a really rough day. My brilliant server Alison almost immediately uplifted my mood with her quick wit and devilish smile. She was running the whole show herself and it was quite the sight to see. When interacting with her, it felt more like chatting with an old friend, rather than getting served. The food was amazing and came out far faster than I thought it would. Not to mention the music playing! Although, with that naughty little smirk of hers, Alison admitted that it was her guilty pleasure nerdy playlist. This place makes me wish I was a local. Its going to be my new staple whenever I swing into town.
First of all I want to say that the young lady waiting on us was very pleasant, helpful and apologetic. The only reason they are still getting two stars. We went there with a party of four. Due to some diet restrictions, we checked the menu online beforehand, only to find out that it has been out of date for a while now. The food arrived after 1.5 hours, even though less than half the tables were occupied, and substitutions had to be made to the dishes. E.g. half an hour after ordering, we were told no more rice was available for one of the dishes, 10 minutes later, another dish had to be completely changed for that same reason. Soup was mediocre, pasta dish was bland and super oily, fish dish was inedible and had to be sent back, burger was overcooked etc. Another party of four leaving at the same time waited 1.5 hours as well, people behind us received the wrong dish (kitchens fault). The waitress tried to rectify the situation as much as she could, with none of this being her fault, but I doubt we will be back.
Top notch breakfast in Belleville.
First. I have to say we arrived at an odd time.It was after lunch but before dinner but still had great service and amazing food. Lots of room between tables, so we didnt feel crowded or like the other tables were listening to our conversation. The atmosphere was warm. However, I would hope that they would run a mop over the floor between the lunch and dinner service because it was sticky and I feel like all of their decor is for sale and it doesnt feel very homie. Will definitely go back. Our wait staff was kind, polite and prompt and this is my 2nd time here and will be going back again... maybe for patio season.
***Updated Review. Went back and the menu was changed. No more sandwiches for dinner. Beef stroganoff was watery and flavourless. Im taking this from a 5 star down to a 3. Service is good but the menu is limited, quality has dropped, and the prices are too high for what youre getting. Somebody Uno Reverse the menu change and let me know when I should come back again. 7 months previous... Great atmosphere and excellent service. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the Steak and Mashed Potatoes
Dined in for my 1st time today, overall the visit was just ok The service was slow/ok, and our server didnt come across as the most friendly (maybe it was an off day). When the food was dropped there was no do you have everything you need / can I get you anything else. But our meals and bills were correct. The home fries were quite bland (tasted like boiled white potatoes with butter) & the coffee was mediocre considering it was $3.60 a cup The place was cute, parking is convenient. But Im not eager to revisit.
Had a couple of rough weeks of travel, got back to Belleville... Next day I have a lunch meeting with a client, and we headed here... Delightful meals (some of the awesome sandwiches / beet salad). Great experience based on the food and attentive staff. Somehow the prior couple of weeks faded appreciably :) Also.. Was here about a month ago for brunch.. Some very nice eggs Benny variations. Can you tell I like the place?
Terrible service. We waited 45 minutes for our food order only to find out the server forgot to hit send on the order. This is just the beginning of a bad experience. When we sat down we waited a long while to just place an order for drinks as the server complained a group of old men took up all her time. 3 beers on the menu were not available. Server was flippant as she would snip doesn t exist! Or not that one either! A table that came in after us got their drinks and appetizers while we waited. In all we spent an hour for one drink each and to receive poor service. The drinks weren t even our second or third choice. We left and had dinner somewhere else. Other tables watched as we left. At least one other table was tired of waiting with empty drink glasses on their table. Glad we weren t the only ones to get this special service.
Good food, decent prices, only complain would be serving sizes;could be slightly larger :)
We recently enjoyed dinner here with some good friends of ours whom we had not seen in a long time. Our server Allison took care of us and made great suggestions concerning our choice of appetizers - the added flambé was a nice surprise. The food was top notch all around the table and our needs were well tended to while we caught up. Would definitely return!
Food is amazing, service is great...the lady is kind and sweet, I have thoroughly enjoyed each bite of it and would love to visit again.
Casual good food. Pricey but what isnt anymore?
Always enjoy a cold Stella and their chicken club sandwich! Consistent quality and service.
I recently went to Birdys for my birthday. Had called in advance about celiac ( gluten free) left a message on the phone. When we arrived our server informed us they dont listen to the messages. Our waitress was rude maybe her experience was from slinging beer in a biker bar. When we ordered our entrees the pasta was to be gluten free. Then our orders arrived : no pasta for our guest. So we all ate our dinner while one person sat with no food for over 25 minutes! No complimentary drink nor on the bill. My beef was actually so tough my dog wouldnt eat the leftovers. It used to be a great place but never again.
We hosted a small baby shower here and it worked out perfectly.
Great food and service. Will definitely eat there next time were in Bellevagas
went for lunch . first time. my wife and I both enjoyed the food very much . And the recorded music too!
A little to casual for my tastes
Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly Food
Discovered this gem of an eatery on Family day Monday. Food-Spectacular, Service - A#1 Truly some of the most pleasant servers ever. And the breakfast was well worth the hour long drive from east of Kingston. We ll absolutely be back!!!
I love this place. During the day, Id probably order the sliced prime rib sandwich (with dip). In the evening, Ive very much enjoyed the prime rib slice. Good food, served attractively, excellent staff.
Steak and prime rib prepared as requested and delicious. Bread pudding for dessert is made on site and is to die for!
It was a private party and the process of planning was made so easy with their help. I had chose to have 2 salad and 3 main choices. All were excellent. Many comments that the prime rib was perfectly done. I had the cremini chicken and it was very good too. I had labeled each place card with my guests choices and the staff had reviewed their tables before hand and everything was organized and went off perfectly. The room was beautifully set up even the linen napkins where fanned in the wine glasses. Impressive!! I had many texts this morning saying what a lovely party it was. Very classy. I cant say enough how great the staff were. Even after the guests left and I was picking up gifts etc. , the girls were so great, and said they had a fun time. It showed!! Im sure those that hadnt been there before, will be back. No wonder Birdys is so busy. Vegetarian options: I had checed first with my two vegans and they were please with my choice. Dietary restrictions: One guest was gluten free and had the pasta gluten free linguine.
Loved every bite
Professional service , awesome food
Love Birdies Menu is a good variety. Upon our visit warned only one waitress so bare with her. She managed on her own very well as it was very busy. Felt sorry for her but she did amazing. They always can suggest gluten free entries which is wonderful. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free offered on some entrees
Fantastic little lunchy/brunchy. Food was standard classics executed exceptionally well! Weve never had a bad meal here. Props to the kitchen!
Enjoyed it. Ok parking. Good food. Reasonable prices. Great waitress. I recommend it. Food : 5/5
Stopped to have lunch while we were in the area, with some family from out of town. We were greeted by one server and she said Ill be with you in just a minute Which was fair as the back room seemed to have several patron. After waiting several minutes and our full party of 4 was in the foyer, server 2 approached us and very rudely said. We arent taking any walk ins, we have reservations of 20 and 30 people and dismissed us. Noted by was that guest for one of the reservations had only just started to arrive. Our out of town family who own a restaurant in the GTA and couldnt believe what transpired.. Not cool Birdys, not cool. A simple, kind explanation without the attitude would have been sufficient. We were disappointed as we have been patrons there for several years. Not likely to go back now.
Amazing food, great atmosphere (loved the lord of the rings track that came on), service was outstanding and a big thanks to our server Erin for making it such a good experience!
Great food and great service. Have been here multiple times. Experience has been great with only one exception, and even that time, it was still 3.5 stars. Its easily a top 3 restaurant in Belleville. Good with dietary restrictions as well! Food
Delicious and reasonably priced!
Honestly best service ever, so kind and funny. Food is consistently great and we will keep coming back! Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian I have many options and there are even vegan options
Best home made soup. Lovely lunch
One of our favourite restaurants. Fantastic food, we ve always had very friendly personable staff. If they ve ever made a mistake with anything they re always quick to correct it. They ve even given us a drink on them for their mistake. We will always go back. Wonderful cozy place to have a romantic dinner.
My boyfriend and I had been to Birdys twice before this experience, and those times everything was great, so we were extremely disappointed with this experience. The problems began when my boyfriend ordered the beef bourguignon, which I had ordered the previous time and enjoyed, so he wanted to try it. I ordered the salad with the sirloin. My boyfriend asked for extra vegetables instead of a starch option. When they brought his plate, there was barely any vegetables and also a lot less beef than when I had had the meal the last time. There was barely anything on his plate. When we asked the server about the lack of vegetables, she said she asked the kitchen to make more but they were adamant that this was a double portion of vegetables so they refused to make more. The root vegetables, such as the parsnips, were also not cooked, they were rock hard, like eating raw carrots. Though I didnt complain about my meal as we had enough to complain about with my boyfriends, the steak was not cut into slices as it had been the previous time I had ordered this and there was no seasoning on the steak. The server eventually gave us 20% off my boyfriends meal and offered us desserts to compensate for the problems with the food. The desserts came and were delicious. We then asked for our bill. We were waiting at least 10 minutes. The place was less than half empty and there were 3 servers on. We eventually got up to go to the bar to pay our bill. Our server saw us and was delivering drinks to a table of six. Instead of coming to cash us out, which is a quick procedure and we were already not impressed with the service, she chose to take the orders of the table of 6, which left us waiting there another 5 minutes. One of the other servers tried to cash us out, but was unable to. We noticed other tables waiting for long periods and incorrect drink and food orders being laid down at other tables as well. There was poor management and multitasking of staff this evening, considering the ratio of staff to customers. I am very disappointed as this was my boyfriends and mines new favorite restaurant in Belleville, but this experience really soured it for us.
Had dinner here and were so pleasantly surprised. Great menu and selection especially the vegan options - even dessert! I never understand why other restaurants find offering vegan food so difficult . EVERYTHING was great including the service so we will be stopping in every chance we can. That chef s outside of Toronto can actually cook vegan food - who knew?!? Vegetarian options: Again, the vegan thing is huge most resto s will offer to remove ingredients (and rarely add something in return) to make a meal vegan. All that does is make it less tasty - then they don t even offer a reduced price for removing the cheese or meat (their costliest items). Dietary restrictions: Again, Vegan is a dietary restriction. So many restaurants offer restrictions like gluten free options but not vegan.
We always enjoy dining at Birdys!! Great staff and food. Reservation system needs tweaking but staff are always accommodating.
Nice, efficient staff, clean washrooms, tasty food.
Enjoyed a family lunch as an early birthday gift from my wife and daughters. Excellent, friendly service, great food, comfortable atmosphere. Really enjoyed it.
Delicious food, excellent service!!
Amazing food! Quite an unassuming little venue from outside, yet indiors it is tastefully classy. With a large menu selection to choose from, there is something for everyone here. I dined here for dinner, however the breakfast menu also looked fabulous. The server was knowledgeable of the product and pleasant. She was attentive throughout the meal service. Food portions were spot on, and the flavoirs were fantastic! This food is freshly prepared and delicious. If you are looking for a nice restaurant with great food and fair pricing but a venue that is not a chain restaurant, check out Birdies Diner!
One of the best breakfast skillets Ive ever had! The iced coffee is also fantastic! Lets get you guys onto uber eats or skip the dishes so I can order from you 5 times a week!
It was breakfast for the time I went.. so not rocket science. But the food was great, service was excellent and everything happened in a timely fashion. Prices are not out of line with other places. Vegetarian options: There was a vegetarian option for breakfast
Excellent fresh salad and awesome seafood linguine. Delicious!
So disappointed with our visit. My husband and I ordered the prime rib - it tasted like institution food. Overcooked, tough meat (not cut off fresh, put on a flat top to warm up but remained cold in the middle), mushy vegetables, and dry mashed potatoes. The caesar was good but my cider was skunked. We were with our kids and they ordered pasta off the kids menu ($10 for pasta, doesn t include a kids drink). Service was okay, we had to seek out our server for our bill and so did the table next to us. Overall, overpriced for the quality served. *tried to connect as requested below. No response received.
Very good quality ingredients and rather satisfying.
Was there for a investment planning presentation. Excellent room and service
Amazing experience! Best service ive had in a long time. Food was cooked to perfection, just an overall fantastic experience. 10/10
Food was over priced and over cooked. Fries cooked in dirty oil. Place was empty, and the service was still poor.
Went in for a lunch with my husband after an appointment, this is the first time we ve been in. The service was great, Natasha was so nice and happy, a very pleasant young lady. We opted for the Gourmet Burger for Hubby & a Croque Monsieur for myself. The food was quick and hot. The Croque Monsieur was sooo good. I highly recommend it if you like a fancy grilled cheese & ham sandwich. We will be back for sure. Prices are not cheap, but the food & service was excellent. So we didn t mind paying a bit more for good food. Only thing I can really say which needed addressing is the front steps needed clearIng off as they were a bit messy with slush & ice. Parking: Lots of parking in the lot.
Very disappointing. The prime rib was tough and definitely not med rare as request more well done and then cooked some more. My sons fries were cooked in dirty fryer oil. All in all over $150 not well spent.
I go to Birdys on a regular basis either for a few events that have been held there or sit down or take out. They have always been a constant with excellent food and service. Everytime I sit down I always request the blonde girl named Natasha, she has been fabulous
Love eating here
Excellent food and great service
Nice friendly service, clean environment but my potatoes were bitter-most likely fried in a 3 days old oil and the dessert was half warm half cold bread pudding. This is not fine dining by any means.
Nice atmosphere, great staff, great food.
Was there for a private celebration of life. Staff were incredible and good food plus very nice location. First time there but will be back for sure!
Disappointed, been multiple times for dinner but never for breakfast. Will not be returning for breakfast. Out of our party of 10 , we had 2 orders that were mixed up , an order of toast and a drink that was forgotten. Service was slow from sitting down until we received our food it was almost an hour. Everyone was so hungry we had finished our food in 10 min. Then waited another 20 min for the bill only after i went up to the front and asked if I oayed there of is they would bring the bill to the table. All while watching staff stand at the desk chatting. Lastly gratuity was automatically added to my bill which i do not like because I would rather base my tip on the service received Skip Birdys for breakfast and go to Eggsquis instead
We were welcomed with a smile and given time to chat while making our decisions. The food was lovely and flavorful. We never felt rush and were well taken care of.
The food was great, but a chicken club sandwich should not be served on a hamburger bun. Also, because this restaurant holds a lot of people, the washrooms are WAY to small and stinky. They need to renovate the washrooms. It s not much better than an outhouse to be honest.
Just great, give it a try
Service was great, food was warm. Taste was okay.
Try their fresh squeezed orange juice mimosa! Vegetarian options: They have a decent vegan breakfast with a vegan patty, potatoes and fruit bowl and cinnamon toast. Food : 5/5 |
Awesome place! Thank you!
Eaten at least a dozen times here, service is quick and friendly and the food is tasty and portion size id decent. I love having the fries with any appropriate combo
Disappointed to be giving a low review, Ive enjoyed Birdys on the past and hope future visits to better. This visit we experienced a long wait for our order which only partly arrived. Vegetarian options: We appreciate having a vegan option on the menu, and have more than one is awesome.
Salad greens were past wilted, they need a proper blender for their smoothies, nice back deck/patio. We sat out front in a booth. Our waitress was very fun. Vegetarian options: No comment
We have eaten here before and enjoyed it. Yesterday we arrived just before 1.00. Waited 20-25 minutes for service. Eventually asked a waitress to take our order. She said she would be right with us. Then she started to clear dirty tables (that were not required by patrons) instead of helping us. We walked out after 30 minutes, still not having had the chance to order. Sad....
OMG - hands down the best mussels in a garlic cream sauce that I have EVER had. And Ive had a lot of mussels in varying sauces. We went last weekend and between that as a shared appetizer and the shaved prime rib on ciabatta with a delicious horse radish sauce, fried onions and their daily cream of potato soup (pancetta in there? I dont know but it was really fabulous too), and a glass of a lovely sauvignon blanc - it was easily the best meal that Ive had in years. So good, Im going back this weekend and bringing a different friend! See you soon Birdys!
Fast service
Great experience and waitress. They even allowed us to have our dog on the patio while we ate since we were traveling. Great food and place to eat!
Let me just begin by saying the food was delicious, on top of it all the ambience was terrific with wonderful choice of music to be played while eating, the music was like nothing like Ive heard before at any restaurant, you really have to check this place out. Lastly I cannot state how great the service is , very friendly , kind and accommodating. Allison is just great. Will definitely come back.
Waited an hour to be served. Anita the waitress had a terrible attitude and her customer service was non exitistant. Embarrassing to have taken my friends here as we love this place as a rule. Never again.
We had lunch here with two of our friends. Both our friends been here numerous times and really enjoyed the food and the service. Unfortunately, the service was terrible and also took an hour to get our lunch. The waitress seemed to be in a bad mood. The only good thing was that the food was OK as well as the company at our table. Would not ever recommend this place to anyone and will not be back. Its sad that our friends had to apologize for the bad service and for the long wait time to receive our lunch.
Terrible service and the food was just okay. It took an hour to get our lunch for a table of 4. The waitress was not friendly at all. Will never be back and will definitely not recommend this place.
Excellent food and excellent service
Absolutely amazing experience, great atmosphere, delicious food! We were seated on the back patio, with a beautiful view of the on-site vegetable garden under a canopy of grape vines. Our server, Anita, was an absolute delight and was very attentive and answered all of our many questions. We even had the opportunity to meet the chef, Alex, who we had to express our delight to. Shared a charcuterie and baked Brie between three of us, which was a perfect summer lunch. Spent some time fawning over the rest of the menu, and already booked our next visit. Highly recommend! Thanks again, Sam, Sherry, and Clare (Tweed, ON)
First time visitor I ve been told in the past about how great the food is and finally got a chance to get in and experience it myself!! Although the food was good what really impressed me was the service! So friendly, personable and attentive from the moment we sat down! So refreshing to see someone who has such passion for what she does!! Anita made our stay incredible and we will be back and definitely will be requesting Anita s section!!
Loved the amount of vegan options (even dessert), pretty rare for the area! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan/veggie options :) Food : 5/5 |
What an awesome find this place was! Travelling along the 401 during the summer can be tough with how busy the ONroutes are, we decided to get off and try something local and I m so glad we did. Breakfast was seriously awesome with friendly staff, a great atmosphere, and plenty to choose from on the menu. Parking can be a bit tight if it s busy but we had no problem getting a table on a Sunday morning. Would definitely come back if I m in the area!
Excellent food
We stopped for lunch at this place on the way to PEC. Very spacious restaurant, cozily decorated. We ordered a burger, fettuccine with chicken and beef soup. Everything tasted very good, fettuccine came with a green salad. Very delicate taste of pasta and salad had amazing dressing! I would say there are a lot of healthy options that have a taste of Italy to it. Would definitely visit again.
My wife and I just had lunch here. Absolutely delicious!!! I had the Mediterranean Pasta and my wife had chicken sandwich and house made soup. We sat on the patio out back. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Try Birdy s. You won t be disappointed!!! 5 stars. Food
Seafood pasta dish was excellent!!!
Waitress was horrid We waited for our bill for over 35 minutes. Too bad because the food was great. Never saw her before so hoping we dont see her next time Food
Excellent food and service! If you are passing by Belleville, I strongly suggest this restaurant! Not the fanciest but the food is amazing! All fresh from local suppliers!
Excellent brunch, nice ambiance and courteous service. Ordered tea, fruit bowl and 3 eggs over- medium. Will come back. Vegetarian options: Food for all people with all preferences.
Many vegan and non-vegan choices. Prompt and perfect service. Very enjoyable evening.
Food was good service was great.
I saw a post in whats for breakfast BOQ, and I wanted to take my wife somewhere new for her birthday breakfast. She had the banana bread French toast, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I tried the prime rib, Benny, and it was very good, especially the hollandaise sauce. It tasted fresh made and wasnt the yellow pre-made paste. Other restaurants call Hollandaise sauce. Also, the home fried were fresh, not deep-fried. I would recommend this place.
Excellent food.. service was a little slow...server was delightful Wheelchair accessibility: Needs wheelchair accessibility Recommended dishes Eggs Benedict
Nice food and drink and big lawn for kids to play
We had a work event at Birdys recently. We worked with Chad before agreeing to anything and he was punctual and helpful. We then agreed on the details and got the evening set up. From there, the evening itself went swimmingly with Allison and Elise and all of their other staff. They were both helpful, cheerful and honest the whole evening and the space worked as a fantastic space for our event. Everyone enjoyed the food and the event was fantastic. Thanks again!
I recently had a situation arise with Birdys honouring a purchased gift card. I have contacted them and they are genuinely concerned. Anita has stated that she will get to the bottom of the matter. I was pleased with their approach to this and I will certainly update this review once it has been resolved. Update: I exchanged correspondence from Anita and Chad and am pleased with the outcome. This was a case of mutual misunderstanding and the staff at Birdys Fine Dining stepped up and fixed the issue. Thank You.
Food was great and has a nice atmosphere
The website listed they were wheelchair accessible, knowing that we were coming from out of town and the interpretation of accessibility varies widely, we called ahead to clarify. The photos of the building do not show any ramps, only steps. The 3 stars are for the employee who was honest enough to tell us that the restaurant is not in fact wheelchair accessible. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, unless you are ambulatory enough to make it up the stairs and have someone carry your wheelchair inside the restaurant for you.
Great service. Nice atmosphere. Food was very good.
Could use a few more takeout options but good food lovely staff.
Drink was not prepared properly and fish was bland.
The food I had was outstanding and my small freshly squeezed orange juice was very good
The staff were most helpful. The food was very good.
Made the unfortunate decision to have a Thanksgiving turkey dinner here. Our group of 4 ladies all ordered the turkey dinner. I asked about having only white meat, as I really dont enjoy dark meat. The waitress told us that the turkey was all preportioned???..and perhaps I could trade with the ladies that liked dark meat...lol. All 4 turkey dinners that were brought to the table were 100% dark meat. All the scraps you have left after carving all the white meat...the scraps that one might make a turkey pot pie with or turkey soup. When the waitress was questioned, she literally tried to tell us this WAS white meat...LOL. Just walked away and chose not to deal with our complaint. The bill comes, and one of the ladies asked for the supervisor. My friend told the manager that this was the worst meal we had ever had in a restaurant, she just replied with Why?... my friend told her why, she just turns around and walks away, while the waitress tells her to just waive her dinner. Zero customer service....ie. Im sorry you have found the food not up to your expectations, how can we fix this? We left this restaurant with a really bad taste in our mouths, and will NEVER return. Went for their turkey Thanksgiving dinner. MASSIVE disappointment. The food was barely edible! When speaking to the waitress while assuring her we were not upset with her, she stomped off like a child throwing a temper tantrum.
Delicious, beautiful brunch and very friendly service.
Good food but the waitress Anita has a bad attitude
Great food and very fast service! I came to birdies with a group of 10 and we were all very impressed with how quick the evening flowed. The bar has a unique selection and the food was to die for. Highly recommend Birdies to everyone!
Been here several times and I ve always enjoyed the food, drinks and service. 5 stars all day.
Nice restauran, be there twice now. Sat right by the fire place . Food was yummy and the waitress was great.
good Vegetarian options: good Parking: good
Not sure if I would call it Fine Dining. At least nor what we consider Find Dining. It was OK. Food not hot and certainly not worth what we paid. Darn! Have to find another place.
The homemade soup was terrible...server had poor POS...expensive tasteless food.
Portions for price expensive, especially if its a pasta dish!
Strange occurrence when we tried to visit Birdys. There were 16 of us coming from a funeral. The manager told us we could not come in because we didnt have a reservation. Told one person they didnt have enough food, and someone else not enough servers. Strange that they didnt want extra business mid afternoon on a Friday. Still saw others coming and going while we sorted out another option. Looked nice what we saw but... Hmmmmm
Great food! Friendly service!
Great food... Charcuterie board could use some work, needs more8 The rest of the food was great Parking: Parking available Kid-friendliness: Kids meals available, nothing special
The two stars are for the food quality being pretty good and quick bringing drinks to the table. After having just eaten there, Im so disappointed with whats become of Birdies. We waited about an hour for food. To add injury to the slow wait, they served another table food even though that patron was seated about half an hour after we had made our order. When this was brought up to our server she said it was because that patrons order was easier (!!!). That patron ordered eggs Benny. Our orders were simple, though there were 4 of us and the other patron was just one, our food was not complicated. We also had a toddler in tow. It would have been nice if theyd considered the level of patience it takes for a 2 yr old to stay entertained while hungry and sitting still for an hour. I am so disappointed that someone having a simpler order was a legitimate reason for it to be okay for them to skip the line. Im so disappointed the sever said Thats how all kitchens Ive worked at operate. I am disappointed that the food still had mistakes despite them having so much time (sauce was put on top and not put to side like asked, kids mini pancakes were actually humongous regular pancakes, the bacon was chewy and under cooked). The servers showed no urgency or concerns for people waiting long times for food. They just went behind the bar and polished glasses incessantly while their ship was sinking. It was sad to watch. The cherry in top: we were seated and made our order when the place was still relatively quiet. I have no idea why it took an hour to get food but if some patrons could get food in less than 15 minutes while the rest wait an hour, it cant be a very good excuse. When we left, the place was getting very full. Hopefully they turned things around.
Great meal and very good service. Enjoyed the shaved prime rib sandwich. Second time here and will be coming back.
I found this place in August for lunch while going to my grandparents. Apparently the diner is better than I thought...first come, first serve. I tried their Banana French Toast and it was so good. A must in Belleville and if youre going on a long trip somewhere, like Gatineau.
My beloved and I went for brunch. Very pleasant interior and excellent service, though the staff were very stretched. We both ordered steak and eggs. The steaks were both cooked perfectly medium rare, though my beloveds was somewhat fatty. However the flavor was delicious. Only criticism? The home fries were overseasoned. But overall a great experience - well be returning for sure
I have been here for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner! The food and service are top notch!
All the classic breakfast/lunch items but done from scratch and elevated for a very reasonable price.
It was ok, nothing seems fine dining.
A casual bar and great music and good food.
