Swiss Chalet in Belleville

Went into takeout to order two meals. There was another customer there who absolutely needed to be asked to leave. What a mouth on him. Too bad other customers heard him and walked out. Phoned the store and the person directed me to use the 1-888 number. Where is the human decency? I feel so bad for the poor girl standing behind the counter being berated and sworen at over a coupon.

We went yesterday for dinner. We were sitted right away and our waitress LeeAnn was at our table quickly. LeeAnn was pleasant, efficient and very accommodating. Food was good and we didnt have to wait long for our food. Thanks again to LeeAnn for.giving us a.great experience at the Belleville restaurant. Merry Christmas to all.

Slow service at times

My online order didnt reach the Belleville restaurant. The manager took my order again and had my order ready in 5 minutes! I cant say enough about how professional and polite the staff was.

I picked up dinner from there and multiple items were missing that we were looking forward to. I didnt notice till we were home so had to waste my time and call them. I was very unsatisfied with their response and the tone of the customer service person. We ender the call more disatified then before we called. The tiny credit they offered us only lasts 90 days but it will remain unused because we will not be ordering from there again.

Came in for a quick mid-week lunch. Food was delicious, and our server, Linda, was fabulous! We ll be back for sure, thanks! Came back for dinner, Gail was also amazing! Thanks!

The food was cold Both myself and my friend asked to have our meals replaced with a warm meal. She was so angry and ignorant. We tipped her which in return she refused and said, just keep it. Definitely not returning to this restaurant. Food

I took my Mom for the festive meal on Sunday evening at 6 pm. When we arrived, we were greeted in a friendly manner. It took approx. 15 minutes or so to seat us. I thought, ok, theyre busy. When we were seated, there were several booths available. This made me wonder why the delay. Our waitress came and took our order, both drink and food. Our drinks came. Now, this is when things become unacceptable. Another gentleman ordered the same as my Mom, including a bake potato. Only he was told that after waiting an extended time, we no longer have any baked potatoes. My mom was not approached at this time. Ok, fine. The table that is seated after us has received their appetizers and meal. Were still waiting. Finally, the waitress approaches and explains that no bake potatoes left. So my mom has to order another side, ok fine. However, this could have been done when she came to speak to the other guest. Our meal finally arrives, well after 7 pm now. The fries are warm, and the dressing is cold. The chicken, however, is hot. By the time we have finished, it is going well on to 8pm, and I am freezing, as it would seem the heat was either turned low or not even on. I have tried the takeout at this location and eat in services. Both have been a huge disappointment.

I ate in a share pack for 4 people. Rib eye and wing salad poutine like this Well, the rib eye wing salad was all good, but the best thing was the service. Its a shame I dont know the name of the female staff member, but I was impressed by how friendly she was!!

Today we were served by Gail at the Belleville Swiss Chalet. Super friendly and courteous with us and others she was serving. Went above and beyond to help a family behind us retrieve a gift card that accidentally was put in the trash.

Bryce was amazing despite being understaffed and clear issues with the kitchen and long waits for food.

Went into this location Tues Oct 8th. Service unacceptable. Waited over 5 minutes to be seated. No host or hostess at entrance. Sat at table for 25 minutes without being acknowledged or served. Walked out & went to shoeless Joes where we were seated, attended to & served very quickly & our server was excellent.

Just left with my wife. Hadn t been to a Swiss Challet in about 20yrs. As we spend a lot of time in Quebec we usually enjoy St Hubert s. This place is NOT St Hubert s. Spent about $85 on 2 chicken & 1/2 rack of ribs. I can say with about 100% confidence that not ONE item was made to order. The ribs were CLEARLY leftovers reheated with a slab of sauce on top, dry AF. The chicken also tasted left over as well as the baked potatoes. If I pay $85 for two - you got a lot of balls serving leftovers. Absolutely HORRIFIC. Also - no one at the entrance to seat us. And kitchen/server staff yelling random things from the kitchen like Ok! I m running to do a bathroom check! . Also staff using customer tables to wrap utensils? I get it s a Swiss Chalet, but holy crap it s obvious that not one person gives a FLYING about its operation.

Ordered via phone and still had to wait an additional 45 minutes over and above their 30 min estimate.

Ordered by phone on two separate occasions. Both times food wasnt ready in a timely fashion...items missing. Attitude was given by staff when asked for what I paid for. Wont be returning

Orders was late multiple times. Last order i Placed at 7 pm told be ready in 30m. Stood there until after 8. Not even told anything. Mostly not returning

My wifes roast beef was cold, asked for NO sour cream on baked potato and it was on it. Told server brought her one, supposedly the last one and it had big brown spots in it. We were there just after 6pm and didnt get bill until 7:30. We asked for takeout boxes, roast beef & actually good coleslaw to bring home. We got 1 box so said we need a container for the coleslaw. Not a good experience

Really a horrible experience. The waitresses really tried their best to ensure everyone was seated in a timely manner - good job to them but waiting for 30mins to be seated is ridiculous. It clearly shows how badly managed this is. They seem to be heavily understaffed. The food was poor. Apparently there is one cook in the back. The chicken was cold. No wonder why they have so many offers going on. Hopefully they will do something about the business plan going forward.

Monday evening was another disappointing experience at SC Belleville. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly. We shared with the hostess our last experiences, who said, sometimes we get it right, and sometimes we don t . This should have been our Red Flag! We met our pleasant, courteous server who took our drinks and food orders & delivered the drinks promptly. After 45 mins of waiting, I went to the waitstaff station, and I was told another 25 minutes, needless to say, we left. Remembering our previous & similar experience at this location, we left! My takeaway conclusions: there is a problem with this franchised owned store, and it s NOT with the waitstaff. The concern is with the franchise owner, who obviously cannot retain kitchen staff and is over tasking the those who remain. As a result, the waitstaff is literally running, frantically placating customers. When leaving, we were politely advised to call with my concerns, instead, I have chosen this venue. This is my first negative review on trip advisor, and I waited until Wednesday to post. We travel 35 minutes to patronize this location In the future, we will add on the extra time and drive to Cobourg or Kingston to a corporate location and avoid the frustration.

The food was good and the family-restaurant atmosphere was pleasant. If you are in a rush this is not the place for you as it seems to take some time to be seated and staff appear stretched thin. Everyone is very nice, though. Kid-friendliness: The restaurant has lots of space, so you neednt be in a tightly crowded area of tables where kids have to be extra well-behaved. The site line to the bathrooms is good from much of the seating. Swiss Chalet as a business is kid-friendly and this location is no exception.

I havent gone to a Swiss LA in a couple of decades, but hoping its going to be what it always was as a kid! Like many of their locations, if not all, there is a restaurant side, and a takeout side, make sure you go into the takeout side if youre there for pickup! Friendly staff, lots of people eating in, and lots of parking! And with their coupons and weekly deals, its the same price or less than McDonalds now!

I usually order from Swiss chalet, you usually get a great review from me not this time, the loaded baked potatoes where way over cooked closed to burnt, ordered half chicken(the chicken leg needed to be cooked a little longer and the chicken breast was close to burnt, some parts couldn t even chew. I had my order delivered

We went to this Swiss chalet in the last week of August two times. We were travelling with our adult son who is on the autism spectrum. Not only the food was great but each time staff treated our son with sensitivity and also went out of their way to have us sit in a closed section the second time around where it was less noisy. We are from Toronto looking to relocate in the area. This left us with a very good impression of staff and the overall feeling of the people in Belleville. Quite frankly, you rock!!

I want to say how happy we are that we received the best service by a wonderful young lady named Grace. We have had her serve us before and were so impressed that we asked to be sat in her section again and will continue to do so. Unfortunately we found out that she will be leaving at the end of August for school it will be sad to see her leave. She is an exceptional waitress. She is friendly, knowledgeable and quick. She does constant quality checks and ensures that her customers are taken care of. We will be sure to be back before she leaves for school. Parking: Plenty of parking

Tried take out again, pick up was at 6:10, arrived late at 6:20, told order isn t ready yet. Someone came in after, ordered at the counter, and left with their food before I got my order at 6:40, it is terrible that walkins are getting their orders quick, when using the app takes 30+ minutes beyond scheduled pick up times. Starting to think I should delete the app and order in person, might be quicker.

Lee Ann provided great service for our large group of 11. She was attentive and prompt. Would be happy to have her serve us again in the future.

We ordered our food at 4:51pm and still had not received our food by 5:30pm so we left without eating. We will not be returning.

Very slow service and kitchen. 10+ mins for water and soft drinks to arrive. 25+ min for dinner to arrive. Less than 1/4 of restaurant full. Manager did not stop in to check on us. Washroom is filthy, with mold around sinks, holes in wall, towel waste all over floor.

Gail was our server today. She was exceptional. Quickly took our drink order while we waited for our grandson. Our meals arrived hot and great flavour. Gail checked on us several times to make sure everything was ok. I wish all servers were as attentive as she is.

This place is terrible. We were seated fine but the rest of the experience was horrible. The server did not take our order for 17 minutes. The food took 46 minutes to get the salads that were ordered. The rest of the table had to wait another 12 minutes. They brought out 1 plate at a time and people had to start to eat before everyone was served. Every single time I come here it takes forever for service and food. I will leave my previous review below this because it really doesnt change. Over the past 4 years it has the same terrible service and long wait times. There is also never any soap in the bathrooms. Went in and the place was not busy at all. It took 7 minutes for someone to seat us. We ordered pretty quickly but it took 35 minutes to get our food. The quality was not the best and the portions are smaller than the last time. They did not have mashed potatoes because of their supply chain. We tried this place years after the last review which was not a good review either. Very disappointed with this location.

Food was okay once we got it, but we waited over 50 minutes to be served our food. There were only two of us. Garden salad was way over drenched in dressing. We usually walk away happy with Swiss Chalet but not tonight.

We went in last Tuesday and waited inside the door for 15 minutes and there were only a handful of people in the whole restaurant. The girl in the kitchen told us she would be right with us and never did. We finally left and went somewhere else. Terrible service. It was around 2 pm.

Gail served us as part of a large group. She was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. I was surprised that there wasn t another server helping out with our group as the restaurant was not busy. Very impressed that Gail was able to manage our large group so well.

Arrived at 5:45, left restaurant at 8:35. Ridiculously long wait for a restaurant that wasnt very busy on a Friday night. Ordered drinks and appetizers, and we had eaten them before our waiter even bothered to take our meal order. Then it was well over an hour before our entrees were finally brought out. At the end of our meal, it was 30-45 minutes to get our bill. The food was good, but it was a very long wait with hungry children wanting food, while the wait staff were all wandering around like they had no clue what they were doing. We kept getting various excuses about the wait. Several times, our waiter told us just five more minutes, which ended up being way longer, or were waiting for sides. Also, it is not food related, but this restaurant is freezing cold to the point of uncomfortable. I dont mind air conditioning in summer, but this was a bit much. Had I known, I would have brought a sweater, but I never expected to be shivering for the almost 3 hours I was stuck there waiting to eat. I wondered why other guests seated at their tables, had jackets and hoodies on a mid-July evening, but I soon found out why.

I sent my chicken back because it was very pink, and they replaced it with basically the same pink chicken and then the kitchen manager came out to argue with us about whether it was cooked enough. I dont want food temperatures quoted at me, I want to have my chicken look like its cooked. We walked out because it was very unappetizing, and we wont be back. The service was also unimpressive. The swiss chalet in cobourg is good if you have a craving for chalet sauce.

Gail our server was fantastic. My only complaint was how cold the restaurant was. My food was warm when it arrived but because the restaurant was cold my food cooled off rapidly. Dietary restrictions: Gluten intolerance. Had the chicken stir fry plus lemon pie.

Usually Swiss Chalet is fairly standard from franchise to franchise. This one is definitely the best Ive ever had. The food seems fresher. Brighter. Like the people working in the kitchen actually care about the finished product. The service is great, its very clean, the music is at a calm level, and the drinks are fine. But the food is definitely above and beyond the average Swiss Chalet!

The chicken and ribs I got last night were awful. Ribs over cooked and chicken leg was not recognizable as a checken leg. No matter what time they tell you your pick up time, its always 15 - 20 minutës later than that. This is the worst Swiss Chalet Ive been to doe take our

Usually good but it must have been a bad night. Waited forever to get our food. When we did, the fries were stone cold and the chicken was just barely cooked. Felt bad for the waitress because the place was under staffed. Because its Swiss Chalet well give them another chance.

While having dinner here tonight I had a great time! Not only was the hostess this evening very friendly but very accommodating as well, the server named Ashley, was well mannered and very upbeat with positively the best service I have received in the city of Belleville. I had the two piece fish and chips, the fish was flakey and melted in my mouth. I was a bit hesitant at first but the hostess referred it to me explaining that she her self had enjoyed it and that I would love it! Well she was right, I didnt expect it to be so good as they are known for their chicken. I do hope that they keep the seafood on so that next time I go to Swiss Chalet I can order it again. I will definitely be coming here again and referring to anyone who asks me for a good place for dine in. Well done!

Great food, fair prices and service, although the waitress was run off her feet on a Saturday night, and I only saw 1 other waitress and a guy in a suit bringing out the food. Very short staffed. Decor could be a bit warmer, and so could the temperature. Im sure the wait staff appreciated the cooler temperatures in the restaurant, but the customers did not. We will return

The only thing I think they could improve on is the organization of reservations. This is the second time our reservation was not ready when we, 25 guest, showed up!

Gail was our server today. She was friendly, efficient, and helpful. My daughter and I have celiac disease and must eat strictly gluten free. She went out of her way to consult with kitchen staff and management to answer my questions and ensure our meal was prepared with care. It s such a treat to be able to eat delicious French fries prepped in a dedicated fryer (blancher). I wish all locations would offer this. Some establishments and servers see customers with celiac as a nuisance and high maintenance - not Gail and the Belleville Swiss Chalet team. We were treated with respect and genuine concern. Celiac customers are a loyal bunch. We will definitely make a point to return when we are back in the area. Thank you Gail! Dietary restrictions: We are so happy that this location has a dedicated fryer (blancher) for French fries only and takes cross contamination seriously when preparing meals for gluten free (celiac) customers.

Sam was our waitress and was awesome. Food was hot, and delicious. Sam suggested we try the popcorn shrimp, that the promotion was ending at the end of the month. It was excellent. It was very busy tonight and every waitress that went buy us had a smile on their face. They all worked as a team. The person who greeted us when we came in was Efficient and seated us as quickly as possible. When he showed us to our table he told us about the specials that were available. We have eaten in the Belleville location before. Most times were good, enough for us to return. Today however, was a huge disappointment & we will not return. It was supposed to be a quick dinner on our way home after shopping. We were in the restaurant shortly after 4 & there were only 2 other tables in our section. The server came to the table shortly after being seated (she has served us in the past ), took drink orders & we ordered our food at the same time. Our order was placed in the computer at 4.23 according to our check. Drinks were served in a timely fashion. The restaurant started to get busy. What we noticed, only 2 servers were taking orders & the food was delivered to all tables by runners. Our server was slammed with guests. Food was delivered & we both noticed immediately French fries were cold unless covered with food & dry. Actually our ribs & my white chicken were dry. Obviously, this food was not the freshest & I certainly appreciate food control but there is no reason FF s should be reheated. We kept eating because we were hungry & the server was too busy to come back & check on this. Our plates were far from empty when they were removed from the table. Our server was very apologetic for EVERYTHING. This was not her fault We cashed out 5:40. MANAGER pay attention to what s going on in your Store!! We were watching you! In stead of hanging around the front desk, walk around your guests & apologize for the bad service, food and over all experience. A Managers job is to pull up the slack. Try removing a few plates or serve a few drinks. Lead your team by example !!!

Every time we go there the chicken portion gets smaller each time at least this time we did not to wear winter coat as we eat last time food took 1 hrs 18 mins to come and place was so cold . Its definitely not our fav place to eat anymore !!!!!!

Our waitress was not friendly, and I waited the longest Ive ever waited for my meal. When it finally arrived, it was delicious. There also was an annoying door bell that rang literally every minute while we were there.

Took 45 minutes for our meal . We were just getting up to leave. Should of. My chicken was off. Told the waiter she tool my whole plate. Brought ba k a new dish. Chi ken was fine but the salad was drowned in dressing. I didnt touch it. She never asked why my food was untouched. If you want food poisen and very wet salad and staff that doesnt give a ship. Go eat here.

We were informed when we got there (at open) that the kitchen had a huge order to prep so we would have about a 20 min wait. We ended up waiting like 45 mins which sucked but we understood! Felt bad for the servers because there were a few tables of grumpy elderly people who were told about the wait, agreed to wait, but were mad about waiting.

Gail is an awesome waitress. Very attentive and even though we passed on dessert, she brought my wife a little scoop of ice cream with a candle because it was her birthday. Made my wife s day right there. Thanks Gail!!

Even though it was extremely busy today when we were in for lunch, Linda gave us excellent service! Will definitely be back.

Great pkace for a date

We have enjoyed excellent dining in experiences in Belleville. The waitresses are friendly and the food comes out promptly and cooked to perfection. I will note if you get there before 5pm on a weekend you won t have to wait but after that be expected to wait. To me that s just proof that you get good quality and great service for your money if the restaurant is packed by 5pm on a Friday night.

Constantly a long wait yet numerous open tables because of lack of workers. You can tell one night they ran out of potatoes and the substitute potatoes were sticky instant with no taste. One night we waited over an hour for out food. We saw three tables stand up and leave because they never even got their drinks

I took a fairly large group of residents from a retirment residence to Swiss Chalet, Belleville for a nice lunch out. Restraunt was clean an spacious. Gail was our server and she was very friendly and accommodating. As we came from a seniors residence, we had a few walkers and they found a place to park them so they werent splayed around us as we ate. We had a couple people change their minds on drinks and Gail was happy to change it up for them. Very friendly service! We will be back for sure. Wheelchair accessibility: Automatic doors for entry and lots of space between tables for someone in a large wheelchair to find their way to their table or the bathroom. Was no automatic doors on bathrooms but could have been a separate bathroom. I just didnt notice as it wasnt needed for our group.

Ordered online, waited half hour walked across the road from our hotel to get it was told it wasn t ready. Waited 5 min (no big deal) for our food and walked back. My fries were soggy and cold, didn t get my strawberry sauce for my cheese cake or caramel for kids doughnuts. Kids said their burgers and poutines were bland.

First time ordering online for delivery. Everything was excellent. My grandsons loved tracking the order and giving us updates on our order! Lol

Its 1hr wait once seated for chicken and fries...go to Metro or Walmart and pickup a rotisserie chicken...this place should closr

My wife and I really enjoyed our mail. Everything was so delicious and to top it off our server was incredible. You can hear the smile and her voice and tell her she was enjoying her job. Her name was LeeAnn. Id like to give a big shout out to her cuz she did amazing definitely be back

Holy Wait Times Arrived at 525pm for our 530 reservation... but a table hadnt been set aside for it. Table of 3 adults and 4 kids. We didnt leave until 740pm. Several other large groups came after us and left before us. Wait times on ordering, food, bill... even when the bill showed up it was wrong. Two sinks in Mens washroom didnt work (out of 3) for what ever reason. Not our first time having long wait times here. Good food if you have over 2 hours to kill.

I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with a baked potato and coleslaw. The sandwich was good as well as the potato. First bite of the coleslaw and it had a hair in it. Mentioned it to server and was asked if I would like another serving or choose something else. Absolutely no apology or compensation. I should have asked for the manager. My mistake.

This has to be the worst Swiss Chalet in Canada! I waited more than an hour at the takeout to get my food! And when I got it it was cold! Stay away from this Swiss Chalet! People that work there dont give a damn about you once they take your money. I visited Swiss Chalet in Belleville Ontario one more time and let me start by saying this is the second review on this place I do and it only gets worse! This is definitely the worst Swiss Chalet in all of Canada I can assure you of that, they have employees that dont care and dont like working! I went there at the takeout section because I had placed an order online and when I got there to pick up my order, the lady that I will include a picture of, was working there, she was the same lady that made me wait just over an hour the last time I was there! She says to me Ill be with you in 2 minutes because she was with another lady, there was only one person there at the takeout who was in front of me and that was it there was nobody else there it was empty, nevertheless, 2 minutes turned into 20 minutes before she asked me what I was there for and I told her You waited 20 minutes to ask me what Im here for? I told her to pick up my order she said fine it should be ready soon, only to come back 10 minutes later to tell me or ask me rather what was my order we cant find it? Can you believe this? This is a half hour later she did this, She could have told me this initially not way to half hour!! ,And I had other food in the car that froze to death and went to waste! Remember, were in the middle of winter now so the food getd cold quickly! This person does not like her job! She walks lazy, She works lazy, drags her feet, You can tell she doesnt like to work! I have no idea if this is a franchisee that owns this Swiss Chalet or if its a corporate store, but regardless, I will be filling a complaint along with my previous bag experience with her to corporate head office asking them to remove this lady from her position! She couldnt care less about takeout yet they have her working at takeout and most of the time its just her!! Last time I was there I wasnt the only one waiting for an hour so I wrote a review and there were more people there too waiting just as long as me. The order I was picking up wasnt even for me I will never order anything from this restaurant after my first experience let alone after the second one! It was for two old ladies that I have at home my mother and my mother-in-law and the food that was in the car froze for one of the two ladies unfortunately so money down the drain! The laziest animal on Earth is the sloth. Sloths are mammals that live in the forests of Central and South America. They have a very low metabolic rate, which makes them move very slowly and sleep for up to 20 hours a day!! So Im willing to bet that in a previous life this lady was a bloody sloth!! So I pre-warn you, stay away from this Swiss chalet at least at takeout because if you go there and get served by the same lady you will be waiting a very long time and I mean very long!
