VIBE VIBE VIBE. Great food, great drinks, you can t go wrong with this place. Atmosphere is on point, service is great and the food is on point. A must go in Belleville.

A nice quiet date night out, we were happy to enjoy it at The Lark. The food simply delicious. Not too overcomplicated that you sometimes come to expect from food that looks so beautiful. Being not too hungry; we shared the carpaccio, lobster roll and gnocchi. The carpaccio was simple with arugula and parm, tasty and mild. We asked for some bread to eat it with. Ive actually never had a lobster roll, but now Im sure I will seek them out. The bun was incredibly soft, and maybe pan butter fried(?) on the outside, very lightly. It was fresh, the dill, tarragon(?), celery gave a crisp freshness to the buttery lobster roll. The gnocchi, described as a staple, was actually that. It wasnt the brown butter I was used too, it was so creamy and flavourful, Im sure many would lick the sauce off the bowl (thats probably why they give you a spoon). Maybe not a traditional gnocchi but definitely tasted hand crafted, freshly made. The owner who we also got the pleasure of talking to and explaining the menu to us was very kind, patient and friendly. We will be back and would highly recommend.

Wonderful food, great drinks and stellar atmosphere. We sat at the bar to eat and am so pleased that we did. The owner/bartender was very kind and attentive. It is obvious there is true pride of ownership. I live in the U.S. and wish There Lark was located in my town as I would be a regular for sure.

Im sitting here in my car letting the nerves from an interview I just had wear off. The gentleman who Im presuming is the owner is here keeping busy cleaning the windows and ever single person who walks by he says hello or has a brief conversation with. Some he knows by name, others maybe not. I had a peak inside and it looks absolutely lovely! Im new to town and havent had the chance to venture to downtown just yet other then for this interview. Just based off what I witnessed here and the friendliness the owner had Ill be back down here to eat for sure! This is exactly what shopping/eating local is all about!

The staff/owners seem to genuinely love their work! Wheelchair accessibility: I saw them direct a woman who was on crutches to an alternate entrance which they opened for her that allowed easier access than the front door.

We recently booked The Lark for a private lunch. The food was excellent and the service was warm and inviting, Alex was very friendly, overall our guests had an amazing experience.

Nice place, amazing host and food was inspired. They rotate offerings so it will be fresh and different (some favorites linger though). Wine selection is also very good. Not inexpensive but worth it!

An absolutely gem in Belleville! The atmosphere feels cozy and welcoming the second you step in. The food was incredibly fresh, balanced and delicious! The service we received was above and beyond, they went as far as to give us an extensive list of nearby recommendations of vineyards, restaurants and coffee shops.

Expertly crafted cocktails, perfectly balanced meals, all arranged and served beautifully in a gorgeous space (even the menu is splendid!). The Lark is the closest thing to a speakeasy we have found in the area. Tell Alex what kinds of drinks you like and what you dont like and he will make you something new and interesting. Speaking of, Alexs customer service, eagerness to please and attentiveness should be the example other restaurants strive for. Perfect for nicer date nights/anniversaries/special occasions, but we will likely stop by for a (new) drink next time were in Belleville.

5 STAR! A casual drive to Belleville and we discovered this wonderful dining experience featuring a very cool vibe interior. By choosing bar seating we were treated to antique plate settings, beatifully folded napkins holstering the flatware, and the unique tools of a professional mixologist decorating the corner of the bar. Alex/co-owner is the mixologist, and is also very well versed on the unique wines on offer, his detailed descriptive of the 2019 Chateau Tour De Gilet resulted in us selecting and enjoying the perfect wine for our meal. Beef Cheek Papardelle for me and Lamb Shanks for my wife......the flavour and presentation was outstanding! It wont be long before we take another drive from Port Hope to enjoy this fine establishment!!! K & S

My favourite place in all of Belleville! The food is amazing as are the cocktails. Theres a good variety to choose from for different tastes. Ive gone back again since my first time visiting to try a few more things. The Beef Cheek Pappardelle was my overall favourite, but the Beef short rib was a close second. Its a cute little spot in downtown Belleville with a nice ambience. Theres lots of street parking available nearby or theres a big lot thats very walkable. Service was great, we even got the bartenders choice for the drinks and it was really well done. If youre ever in the Belleville area and are looking for a spot to have dinner, this is definitely the place.

Belleville has just a few places where you can receive quality food and drink, excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. The Lark is one of those places. Youre going to pay a little more, but its worth it. Specialty drinks are excellent, and food is fabulous. Alex, the owner, is very accommodating and created a wonderful evening for both my wife and I. Make sure to check this place out.

Alex and Celine were very personable and fantastic hosts. I had the beef cheek parapadelle, and my wife had the lobster risotto! Both tasted fantastic and were decently priced. You HAVE to go! The lark is always our first option of where to go. It never disappoints. The gnocchi might be the best meal I ve ever had ever. And the cocktails? Can t be beat.

Every time I have been to The Lark it feels like I have been incredibly impressed by the service and atmosphere, not to mention the delicious food and drink selection. I feel that it should be mentioned that they have continually looked out for public safety following all required mandates throughout the pandemic, and continually pivoting to still be able to meet the needs of their customers. I cannot wait for it to be patio season again to enjoy one of their fancy drinks out on the patio!

My partner and I went to The Lark a couple of years ago and I STILL find myself thinking about how amazing our dinner was. The food, the drinks, the ambiance, and the service were outstanding. For me, however, nothing can beat ordering a bourbon cocktail and guess what, it s made with top shelf bourbon. Great cocktail list here, with knowledgeable staff that can whip you up an old classic, New York Sour? I still love them! Check out the bottle shop for some unique items you won t find at the LCBO and pre made bottled cocktails. Want a good vermouth for martini night? Your only shot at a decent bottle is here. The Lark is my go-to for any time I want thoughtfully prepared food and super unique wine. Anytime I have friends visiting from out of town, I make sure to hit this place up. The gnocchi is always a must, as is the tartare and kale/asparagus Caesar. They make amazing wine reccos as well, and really know their stuff. Love how the takeout is always packaged to go right into the oven, and the menu is designed so that the food reheats really well. They def got us through the first lockdown when we were missing restaurants! If you havent tried it here yet, do yourself a favour.

To be clear I have not been here and never will after my reservation experience. I made reservations in late March 2022 for May 14 2022 that were confirmed. On May 12 I receive one email confirming my reservation (again) and another email two minutes later telling me it has been cancelled. The place does not seem well managed regardless of the circumstances. Since the restaurant wishes to engage in some creative story telling aka lies, here is part of the text from the first email I received yesterday: Im reaching out to confirm your reservation for this upcoming saturday evening and the second Unfortunately, we had to decline your reservation. They can continue to justify their behaviour, after all it is their restaurant. We get to choose where we spend our money to eat. I will eat elsewhere.

Delighted to find this place in Belleville. Fantastic food, great ambiance, wonderful service. We had the olives, and I m not an olive person, but they were WITCHCRAFT - warm, delicious, the ideal start. I had the short rib wellington: the meat was melting, the gravy divine and the croute was a perfect puff. It sat on to-the-tooth broccoli and a smear of root mash. He had the brown butter gnocchi that looked fantastic and he told me was amazing. We were not going to have dessert, but Dawn the chef encourage us both to have her rhubarb cake and it was absolutely the right answer: full of fruit, dense rich sponge, the right balance of sweetness, topped with a little fresh crunch of strawberry and a butter sauce. Heaven. Add to that the Chenin Blanc that went down all too easy and the charming relaxed service from Alex and well. We ll be back. Regularly. Clue in, people of Quinte and visitors.

Alex is one of the best restaurateurs in Belleville. He has a great food menu and an even better cocktail selection. One of the only (if not the only) places in Belleville with a premium liquor selection, and Alexs spirit knowledge will make your experience that much better.

This is hands down the best bar in the area. Great wine and cocktail selection, the staff are cultured and friendly and the food is unique and well executed.

Beautiful vibes. Good food with picturesque presentation. Great service We were a party of 3 and we devoured the food. Highly recommend beef short rib. The meat was so tender and the sauce was great. Burrata was different but tasted nice. Pasta was a bit off as it wasn t blended in with the sauce. Beef short rib: 9.5/10 Burrata: 9/10 Pasta: 7/10 Would visit here again soon to try other items on the menu

Amazing experience. Like experiencing the highest calibre Toronto cocktail bar but in a small town. Best negroni in Canada. Menu is high quality, as is the service and food. Alex, one of the co-owners provided a wonderful experience. This place is a breath of fresh air. Youd be hard-pressed to find this type of place outside of downtown Toronto let alone in a 200km radius from Belleville. Two thumbs up. Will return, will recommend.

Had a nice romantic date night here. We got the place to ourselves because of the time we chose and it made it feel very intimate. Owners were super personable and made great recommendations for what to choose off the menu. My mushroom risotto was expertly made - better than food Ive had at a Michelin star restaurant. Prices are very reasonable, decor is modern, the restaurant is very clean, and the cocktails are cute (and dangerous).

Incredible! Service, food, atmosphere... everything was incredible. Would return just for the level of service we received. So, it was so amazing that our food was delicious too. I got the Zucchini and Romesco (zucchini was perfectly done) and the gnocchi... I cannot even describe how perfect the texture of the gnocchi was... I will be dreaming about that dish for a long time. The spiced cherry and feta cheesecake was the perfect end to the meal. My friend got The Board (meat, cheeses, etc.) and the portion was so generous! It had a great mix of grainy mustard, pickled veggies and fruit compote to compliment the meats and cheeses... I could go on forever... hands down the best meal and service I have experienced in Ontario!

The servers were friendly, but very slow to take our order and get the food out. The food was very under-seasoned, and the tostados had so much tomato sauce that you couldnt taste anything else. Wouldnt recommend.

Moved to Belleville 4 months ago and discovered this incredible gem on Bridge Street this week. Took wife to dinner tonight. To start Waiter/Bartender came to table with water and menu and wife commented He is Hot. So, a good start to night. Surprisingly, Handsome Dave turned out to be an incredible waiter, well informed on both drinks, wines and menu! From the wine selection to the incredible deserts, everything was done and served to perfection. Food was absolutely incredible. Best we have had in many years and the final bill was a very pleasant surprise. if you are in this gorgeous city, do not miss The Lark for a fine, fine evening out! We will be back soon and thanks to the full staff for a wonderful evening!

The service was great, but we were not impressed by the food and it was a little bit overpriced for the size of the portions. I don t recommend the gnocchis which were clearly missing garnish and were a little bit bland.

Best food in Belleville by a mile. Easily the best Gnocchi weve ever had it wasnt even close. (dont listen to the review below). Also The Beef Tartare was fantastic and so were the Carnitas Tacos. Great experience and will be back.

A classy, modern, and inclusive space with super friendly staff as well as incredible food and cocktails. They are taking COVID-related precautions very seriously which I really appreciate as it shows respect for the community, and makes for a safe and comfortable dining experience. Highly recommend the Sausage Bucatini, Brown Butter Gnocchi, and Beet-Root Hummus. Cocktails are a must. We will definitely be back!!

Fantastic place. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to dine at The Lark again on the second night of our stay in Belleville. Delicious food: quality ingredients and inventive cooking. Solid wine list for a place of this size. Service hits the sweet spot of friendliness and professionalism. All of this for reasonable prices, especially for being so close to Prince Edward County.

What an absolutely wonderful evening, my wife and I had at this local spot. Ditched the kids and went out for a date. Was greated by staff and welcomed in. All the mandated protocols were in place and executed with class and professionalism. Our food was ordered and brought out in record time. The wine suggestions by David, were spot on for our meals and made for a delightful dinner. The food itself was artfully designed with the foodie in mind and was an experience that can sometimes be rare in these parts. The menu is a collaborative effort, with Chef Jesse standing out as a excellent head chef. The implementation of the whole experince will leave my wife and I looking to come here again to escape our very busy lives as parents. Thank you Alex for the experience!

I can t say enough wonderful things about this place. If you haven t been here yet, stop what you re doing and make a reservation. The owner and sommelier Alex is so personable and incredibly knowledgeable about wines! Especially regional selections and unusual tastes you can t find through the LCBO. We had a delightful and entertaining tour through his wine flights experience! The chef, Emily is a phenomenal talent. I don t think I ve been so well treated to such fine fare. The food we had (Short Rib, Brown Butter Gnocchi) was a flavour adventure that felt like a little piece of heaven. I don t claim to be an expert foodie, but I can safely say it s better than most of my fine dining experiences from renown establishments abroad. Truly an amazing experience that can be found at the gateway to The County!

The Lark has a very modern and vibrant atmosphere, located right downtown. I have visited the last few times I was in Belleville, and Its been a great place for a quick meet-up with friends, but would also be fun for a special occasion with a small group. I have had really friendly interactions and pleasant visits with the staff as well; always a bonus! They offer great classic cocktails, local wines, really yummy bites to pair with your drink, as well a good variety of meals:)

Its really good. Stop reading reviews and just go, try it. You will be glad. The food is good. Full stop. The booze is on point and this place has used some kind of magic to make the formerly dumpy Century Place look like a real restaurant in a real city. Worth it every time. We always leave pleasantly full and deliriously happy.

Bottom line - great service and amazing food and worth the drive to Belleville - Just make sure you make reservations in advance.

Excellent place for an excellent time! The supper was amazing, good service, researched and tasty drinks. We had gnocchis and risotto and honnestly one of the best we had ! The chef (young lady with glasses) is a keeper

Charming little find in downtown Belleville. My daughter and I were in town for a few nights in August 2030 and needed and impromptu late dinner. The folks at The Lark were kind enough to fit us in. We started with the Organic Shrimp Ceviche. It was refreshing and delicious. Then she had the Basil Risotto, and found it to be tangy and fresh. I had the Fish Dish . So delicious, with marinated tomatoes and grilled trout served on couscous. It s definitely a quality over quantity place with smallish servings, but was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend.

Just the perfect place for a great, delicious night out! We had three courses of just perfect dishes along with friendly staff and nice drinks. Thoughtful, creative put together and just the right size is the least one could say - we would love to come back! Keep it up - Belleville needs this place!

Cool vibe, great drinks and a fantastic tartar!

GREAT BISTRO STYLE RESTAURANT. Three of us went for dinner. We all had different appetizers and main dishes. All of them delicious. I enjoyed the sparkling wine and the Beaujolais. Very tasty. I had the Gnocchi. They were so good, ordered a second time. See photo. Handsome Dave was our server. He was great.

Food is tasty, but super small portions ( needed to eat somewhere else) Booze expensive and not enough ( better buy your own booze or go to another bar to have drinks with better deals), staff is so nice

This is a progressive, chic restaurant with food that was delicious. My partner and I grabbed a late dinner there this weekend and were very pleased with our meal (gnocchi, mac and cheese, and beet salad!). The wine and drinks menu was extensive and the ambiance was intimate. I have already recommended this place to friends!

Trendy lighting. Killer drinks. Yummy food. Great in terms of Covid space setup and safety. They have nice thin dividers that also add privacy. Cool dream catcher and mason jars. What s not to love? Great food, we had Indian dish and risotto dish. Plus our server was great and really friendly. I wish Belleville has more places along these lines. They know what they re doing. Great cocktails. Delicious food. Super chill atmosphere.

Without question the food is fantastic. The dishes we had could go toe to toe with the best Toronto has to offer. Also Mckinnons from Bath served in tall cans; very nice. One problem, the reason for the 3 star rating, the portions (especially for the mains) were way too small. By far the smallest portions for the price; for example $16 for the chili special. Again really tasty but not enough. Another negative... 7oz pour for $18 is super expensive. Ive never seen this even here in Toronto. Maybe $18 for a 9oz pour but $15 would be more in line. Service was good; Alex was reasonable attentive. Music was unnecessarily loud. Would return if they fix the portion sizes.

k. here s how you do the lark, 1 roll in fresh with the homies. 2 ask your bartender ( maybe,if your lucky, it s handsom dave) for a cocktail recommendation. 3 food: order everything and split the bill betches ! including the wine. 4 get home way later than you thought you would full of deliciousness.

I love sitting at the bar - if youre ever unsure of what to order, this is the prime spot to grab to get the lowdown from the bartender. Lots of vegan, gluten-free and meat-and-bread-loving options. They focus on sustainable menu items and are always changing the options with the season. There is no deep fryer, just fresh and flavourful food. A great place to come with friends, order a bunch of different things and split a bottle of wine, cider or feature beers. They have a great little patio youll want to live on for summer nights!

What a wonderful addition to Belleville. The Lark fits perfectly into the new downtown area and is exactly what Belleville needed. This bar has a wonderful ambiance & an appetizing menu! The drinks are great and trendy. I tried the Suburban Divorcée & it has such a delicious and unique taste. It is more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a classy spot to grab a drink with a friend, the Lark is the place for you.

Great food, brought one meal out late but were great on correcting the error and apologizing, and then I broke their chair by accident so I guess we broke even there. Very friendly staff. Interesting and delicious drinks.

Fantastic good, drinks staff and atmosphere! This is exactly the kind of place Belleville needs!

While I loved the modern decor, and did find the steak tartare with the caper berries delicious; our party was underwhelmed with the rest of our orders and price. My husband ordered a mezza platter. This included two raw carrots and cucumbers slices, a handful of shrimp (describ ed as raw seafood so we expected more variety), a few pieces of pita and a splitpea hummuss. We all ended up getting the sparerib tacos for our main course. Each came with only two tacos,topped with a mango salsa that I felt may have been better suited to a fish or poultry taco. The meat was not as flavourful as expected and a bit dry. Left us wanting more in terms of food! With their huge drink selection, I think that if there is a next time, we would probably stick to drinks!

Went here for the dinner and wine tasting (also seen on Airbnb) and it was absolutely perfect. The wine, the flexibility of the tasting (ask about Macedonian wines!), the service and the food. We really go to chat with the guys behind the bar. They re fun, interesting and know their stuff! Definitely go to the lark, will for sure become a staple of PEC.

Shockingly high quality cocktail and wine bar for such a small town. Alex is inventive, deeply knowledgable, and a great advocate for his art form. And he leads a skillful, thoughtful team. We love coming back over and over and over.

Great chorizo mac & cheese!

I was there Saturday night while visiting the area and the meal was incredible. The chef (Emily?) takes such care with the dishes and presented them with pride, and it was reflected in perfectly balanced dishes that hit all the right notes. Had the steak tartar, beet salad, gnocchi, beef short ribs, and two amazing desserts, plus good cocktails and wine. Atmosphere is awesome. This restaurant rivals any top spot in Toronto.

I visited The Lark with a friend to grab some drinks and a snack and I was absolutely impressed by the quality and vibe. The cocktail menu is extensive with some really unique drinks and while the menu is on the lighter side, the food is top-notch and excellent paired with their drinks. I will definitely be visiting this location again.

A new restaurant /Cafe in Belleville right downtown. Outside patio seating is nice. Inside is modern and very nice. Nice sitting outside on a summer evening for drinks. Very good drinks, both alcohol and non alcoholic are good. Nice small snack type food with drinks. Friendly staff, a very pleasant place. Belleville needed and still needs this place and more like it. Hope it stays! Good work getting this going.

Le cocktail Suburban Fiancé est trop bon, piquant à souhait. La bouffe vraiment bonne, je pensais pas quon pourrait bien manger comme cela en Ontario, encore moins dans une petite ville. Les proprios sont très sympathique et maîtrise bien le français au besoin. Et ils connaissent bien les vignobles du coin, nhésitez pas à leur poser des questions. On y retourne, certainement.

Over the past few weeks I heard good things about The Lark, so I stopped today for a glass of wine. However, about 1 1/2 hours later with two perfectly chilled unoaked Chardonnay in RIEDEL wineglasses, a very tasty Veggie Taco with black beans, a delicious Creme Brulee and a very good Espresso and exceptional service, I decided I will come back. While I had my wine and the tasty wine and meal I watched the staff and the owner, Celine, I could not stop thinking, they have fun running their bar/bistro/diner. I will come back. All the best to Celine and her team.

This is such are great little place. We have been here a few times now Service has always been great. The wine menu is extensive... I really like that they offer 2oz. Tasters great way to try some different wines. They also have the 4 & 6oz offerings. We had dinner this visit. They have new menu, I tried the shrimp carbonara. It was excellent. Love the owners, working all the hours to make this a great place to stop by for a glass of wine or a awesome dinner place. Give this place a drop by, you will love it

Great spot with a patio! Drink menu was very nice, first spot to serve sour beer out here! The kitchen wasn t truly open, but the wait staff put together nice cheese and charcuterie boards. Staff were super friendly and let you relax and enjoy the evening

Tried out The Lark during Quintelicious. Great decor and ambiance. Absolutely loved the beef tartare, it was fantastic. The creme brulee was also delicious. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star review was the mac n cheese. There wasnt any perceivable bacon pieces and it wasnt very cheesey. I will definitely be back, I cant stop thinking about the beef tartare.
