A fun, quirky place, with events ranging from metal bands, stand-up comedy acts to drag performances, with s friendly welcome for EVERYONE. The food, with in-house smoked meat as a centrepiece, is delicious!

Ordered brisket, it was expensive and covered in Bullseye bbq sauce. Couldnt taste anything but the crap bbq sauce. Expensive for the food being served. The waitress was terrific. Will not go back

Wow! What a discovery! I went with my 17 daughter and my 14 son on a wimp. The food is good, best burger my so has (accordinv to him)! As a French Canadian, I have to say that the poutine sauce was great (I just salt). My daughter had a huge waffle and fried chicken breakfast that fed her for two meals! The staff and owner are welcoming and social, and it has that underground 1990s vibe that I like. We will be back for life music very soon! For about 20$/person, it doesnt get better than that nowadays. I will come back with my husband, for sure!

Im going to have go on and INSIST you put Smokin 116 Bistro on your go to places for great food and fun in Belleville! I gotta give thanks to Gaza and the BDS Movement for prompting me to search out local business instead of the genocide supporting big chains off the 401 to stop and have a bite to eat. My Dad and I were passing through Belleville on our way home to Toronto. We had no expectations, and yet left with a bunch of pleasant surprises! From the karaoke singing pirate to the welcoming and friendly waitstaff and patrons, to the BEST French Fries Ive ever had! The Burger was heaven also, and my Dad really enjoyed his BLT. Like where else can one go at 11pm and get this level of quality, and quantity of wholesome fun and goodness in food and atmosphere! Ill tell you, only at Smokin 116 Bistro! There is something for everyone on their late night eats menu, and if it wasnt for my full belly, I would have indulged in their deep fried Mars bar! No worries, there most definitely will be a next visit where I will try it, and hopefully be dipping it in some homemade nutella! Wink! Wink! Sharon! Blessed to have met you, and Sal. And thank you both for a wonderful time, and sending us on our way with great coffee and espresso to keep us awake on our journey back to Toronto!

Sal has the Deal and the Food. Breakfast with REAL Bacon, like when I would visit a farmer as a kid! I asked who his supplier is - I have my special supplier he said. Ill be back for the chicken deal, ribs and brisket!! Hmmm

Below mediocre bbq, some dry stuff that comes out of an oven, no smoke on site, sauce couldnt redeem it, I got the biggest platter they have, dont waste your money Owner Responded: I cooked professionally for 12 years and spent 1 at a smokehouse in Halifax. If you call that smoked you must be smoking.

Ive order from here 2 times and the food was garbage.. the first time I got a burger and pountin cost $38..$49 after delivery.. then I got a pulled pork burger n pointing.. I dont know what country youre from or who taught you how to cook but normal cooking standards means that you use cummi not chili powder in pulled pork chili powder is never used in pulled pork at all never.

Food was pretty terrible for a pub style restaurant. It came out cold and the burger was dry and overcooked. Tacos were all cheese and hardly any meat, and the meat that was there was pretty tasteless. Wouldn t recommend at all.

Today, I grabbed a chicken cranberry Swiss sandwich and boy was it good! The fries were perfect as well. The service showed just how important customer service is to the employees in the bistro. I will definitely be back again to try more of their offerings! I highly recommend a visit to The Smokin 116 Bistro!

My experience has been consistent good service, and consistent good comfort food. Nothing fancy but a great menu selection, something for everyone. In my opinion, it would be a great place for after work gatherings with co-workers. A hidden gem in downtown Belleville.

Ive eaten here several times and been to three AWESOME events theyve hosted. Comedy Nights, Drag Nights, Live Music Open Mic Nights. This is an amazing community hub for the Quinte region as well as a really good place to eat. Strong meat focus. Lots of food from the smoker. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible, with no barrier to washrooms.

Excellent BBQ! No patio service though. And the patio is separate from the restaurant so you have to plan a bit. Atmosphere might be better for live music. Ribs arent on the list below. Get the ribs.

Well been while since i have been out an hit a decent bistro,soon as i walked in it was a great atmosphere at the 116 bistro and lots of good energy,bartender was a sweetheart service was great she was goin to town making drinks like crazy high five girl i had 2beers relaxed watched the ball game listen to some good tunes ,i didnt try the food but sure did smell very good and def will be trying the food next visit,and i met the owner saul awesome guy you rock a great place i will be back alot more my type of place.

Orderd a platter with ribs, hot dog, pulled pork, wings, and a brisket. They forgot my brisket but the meat was good enough I didnt care. Overall the pulled pork was amazing

Amazing friendly service! Very generous portions! Brisket was tender, bun was fresh, fries are the best I ve had in a very long time, the fish was moist and tender!

The food and the atmosphere was great but the service was non existent at best. Had to physically go up to get service it took 45 minutes just to get the menus. then took even longer to get the food me and my friends had a good mind to leave. All this only to get over charged by 30$ ( mistake was corrected ) The only save in grace was the karaoke I would go back only for drinks and entertainment but not for dinner.

Entertainment was awesome, but their customer service is lackluster and I found them very rude.

Food has potential but the bad service ruins everything. Dont bother with the 116, they are rude. Several visits have confirmed this. They dont care about customer service.

Service was a little slow. Drinks were over priced. Poutine was huge and tastes great but the flat bread was pretty bland.

Dont recommend going hungry to an event at this venue. Went with a party of five to a recent comedy night, and while the show was excellent, and the room was well suited to live entertainment, the food was terrible, and the service was unprepared in the extreme. The meals on my bill, a hamburger (overcooked and dry, fries limp and unsalted) wing platter (wings hammered, veg limp and soggy, fries limp and unsalted) and mac and cheese (poor flavor and gritty sauce) were all extremely disappointing. While I will grant that a packed house is going to make perfection unreasonable, what we were served was not at all good. The service, while friendly and accommodating, had absolutely no hope of success. They were understaffed, undersuppoted, and constantly in the weeds. I did not feel the need to make the situation worse for any of us by complaining to an already overburdened staff. Would definitely recommend going to events and shows held in this location, but ordering exclusively from their full and interesting drink menu .

If you want a big pile of meat, this is where you go. As a bonus they have comedy nights which I didnt know existed around here. Parking: Lots of available parking

Nice unique place. Service was great, very attentive. Food was horrible. Let me start with how long it took. Over 1 hour to receive our order. We were the only 2 people there. A sandwich with no fries for me, sandwich and onion rings for my friend. 3 times my sandwich sent back. When I finally received it, the turkey was similar to shoe leather. Was only supposed to be charged for the sandwich. Instead I was charged for a full meal. We both received 10% discount . We were late for the hockey game. Not very happy about this. Doubt Id ever go back

I really, really wanted to like this place, but its lacking in a lot of things s that could be improved easily. The food is basically quick fixes, burgers, fries, wings... the burgers were dry like they were mashed into the grill repeatedly; the fries were basic food truck fries. We had a hot dog and onions rings as well, they were way too salty. Gotta give it to the quality of ingredients though, its not cheapo discount ingredients, but it lacks the touch of an experienced line cook. Service was slow, but not all to the servers fault. It was a full house with bar and full kitchen with only 2 servers with some expereince. Food was very slow to come out, but drinks came quick. With a full bar,cocktails, and shots menu, I was expecting much more. My first cocktail was watered down, and instead of lime juice, they used lime cordial (major bartender mistake - so maybe the bartender isnt experienced or the owners are not providing ingredients). Second drink didnt even have liquor. Quality control is lacking. Should have stuck to wine or bottled beer. The vibe is great though, friendly, welcoming, local hangout, good diversity of people... but its lacking finishing. Theyre having special nights like comedy, drag, karaoke... which are wonderful opportunities, but Im hoping for better quality of food and bar service next time. Comedy night was alright, a few comics from Toronto, felt more like open mic comedy night. I think they were a bit confused by the rural-not-so-rural crowd. I will try this place again, only because I really want to like it... but for me to give a better review or visit regularly, some changes will need to be made.

Came for a show advertised to start at 8pm. Its now 9:32 and nothing yet. Service was very slow. I was asked if I wanted another beer by the same person twice and still waited for one, even though I sat at the bar. Burger was not bad, but the fries were cooked in tge same oil as the fish, and were dry. Not tasty at all. Reheated most likely. I wont be back.

Great place and atmosphere, especially for being in downtown Belleville. Staff is super friendly, food in my opinion is what you would usually get at a Bar with a couple cool and different things you wouldnt find at your typical Bars gets the job done is flavorful, good comfort food! Husband & I Arrived at 6pm-May 12/2023- one other table with couple inside- Young girl got us drinks- ordered food with a soup entre-6:30,Owner comes to food window- picks up his plate of food and goes to the back of store while 3 tables are now waiting for food-6:35 assuming the other couple had already ate recieved their food- Thats when we realized this is going to be even longer and paid for our drinks to the girl- The soup entre never came out- dont restraunts have soup of the day ready made-she used the excuse they had Skip the dishes order going out and thats why so long- WOW- how did you get through a Pandemic- there were only 3 tables with one sitting waiting still for their food when we arrived.The Owner - Shame on you seeing people waiting and take plate of food to back- Bad business practices and Unexceptable-NEVER COMING BACK- LOST MY BUSINESS-- Went around the corner to Bourbon Pizza- Busy- Orders going out the door- Tables full- From Entering to seating to Ordering- our Hot Delicious food arrived in 15 minutes...

Came for breakfast and the Saturday open mic. Service was excellent. What was upsetting was our treatment from the fellow in charge of the open mic. After we moved to a different table to accommodate his gear and helping to film his performance, he had the audacity to tell us to go sit in the back of the venue as our talking was disturbing and he couldnt remember his own lyrics. We were not loud, merely carrying on a conversation while we enjoyed our breakfast. I wonder if he would have the nerve to say this if it were 3 men sitting there and not 3 women. Doubtful. Shameful behavior. Three people in the audience and all three left after his diatribe. Maybe he should bring a bloody lyric sheet next time if his memory is fading. Sadly, I will not be back to your restaurant because of this. Further note...after response from owner, I am upgrading my review. It is not the fault of the restaurant , just a jerk who was having a bad day.

I come to the 116 Bistro twice a week and have for over a year now. The food is always top-notch and the service is incredible. The bar is fully stocked and they keep some of my favourite craft beers ice cold and ready to cool you off. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and Ive never had nay issues with the patrons here either. If you want a place for a quick bite to eat, a cold drink or a family meal then this is the place to go!

Love this place so much! Everyone was absolutely amazing, the food was fantastic. But an extra shout out to the server Erin. She went above and beyond for my group of friends and myself. She s honestly probably the best server I ve ever had. Will absolutely be returning!

Absolutely terrible place to dine. We sat down for a 6pm reservation and had menus given to us and the server left for about 10 minutes. The place was barely half full and a band was starting to sound check. The server came back to get our drink order and we ordered food at the same time. She was gone for another 15 minutes and finally brought us our drinks. We waited for an hour and half from the time we sat down and finally gave up. As we were lining up to pay and leave to go somewhere else to eat, they said our food was coming out of the kitchen. There was nothing said to us about being short staffed or a bit of a longer wait for food. The server clearly had minimal customer service skills and the owner/manager wasnt a whole lot better. The staff was clearly incapable of meeting the demand the restaurant required and expected understanding and compassion without any communication to their customers about what was happening. I definitely dont recommend spending your time or your money here. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else

The food is not great. The pulled pork isnt anything special. Quite a few tough chunks or pieces of pure fat covered in a pretty unremarkable sauce. I probably should have listened to my gut when the BBQ sauce was being poured from one of those huge bottles of premade stuff. The chicken wings were pretty dry and otherwise nothing special. Just your average fried wings. The chicken quarter was also pretty dry and flavorless. The ribs arent too bad though. Bit tough, but decent flavor even without any sauce. I would have liked to review the brisket, but I was only told they didnt have any when I got to the store. There was no mention of it being unavailable when I ordered take out over the phone. I understand that theres problems with supply and the price of beef, but still. As for the sides, they ranged from eh to bad. The onion rings were so greasy, I didnt even bother with them. The fries and coleslaw are alright. The cornbread is a bit too dry and crumbly for my taste, but decent for flavor. If youre really craving BBQ then I guess this is your only choice in the area, but personally Ill be waiting until I head to Toronto for some better spots.

We were in town for the night and ordered through Skip the Dishes. The burgers were oversized, juicy, and delicious. We would highly recommend it, worth every penny. We cant wait to go back and try it again when we can eat inside.

This place is absolutely wonderful! There was live music and a friendly welcoming environment. The owner personally welcomed us and thanked us for coming. The food was incredible and so filling! The owner sent us home with a giant slice of cake each since it was my birthday. I would never run out of nice things to say about this place! 10/10 recommendation!

SO much food! definitely ordered too much, their servings are hefty. the staff is really lovely and Im looking forward to going back for live music. the chairs were a little hard on our old bones & back but the overall decor is fun

Great place to go

Skip 116 Bistro if you re looking for authentic BBQ. Cafeteria grade at best. We had the $60 patter for two. Everything was rewarmed. The 1/4 chicken was not warmed all the way through and was cold inside. The ribs were dried out and of terrible quality, full of cartilage and offered little edible meat. Zero smoke ring was present. The pulled pork was mediocre at best, most likely produced via crockpot with bulk cafeteria Kraft BBQ sauce. No spices, rub, or flavour! The wings were ok, but dry and they skimped on the sauce. Corn bread wasn t the worst I ve had, but could see the kitchen staff microwave it through the pass through. The coleslaw was the best thing on the platter. Save your money.

Had a great time and it was my first place to do stand-up comedy. The staff is very friendly. I did not get time to try the food. The area is very cramped and is kind of hard to get into. I would recommend parking on front street and walking there.

I was reading some reviews for 116 bistro ,and where the customer had left a less then favourable review ,the owner seemed to always reply back with , :couldn t you have contacted us first , prior to leaving a bad review so we could try to make it right ? Hahaha I have waited 6 days , for a reply from chef@116bistro, with the concern I had left them , which coincidently cost me the customer, mucho donaros with what seems to be such little regard, from ownership, I phoned last Saturday night to place an order for Three people total, spoke to SAl who seemed very nice on the phone , and even nicer in person, when I shot the breeze with while waiting for my takeout order that s why I guess this bothers me so much. I ordered a pulled chicken , came with fries A cheeseburger with poutine A brisket dinner with fries and a coleslaw And one half rack of ribs . I established a time for pick up, was there on time . Was charged 96.00 !, and left a 6.00 tip to pick it up . I get home , and immediately find that my 30.00 brisket meal has 6-7 strips of brisket , no Fries , no coleslaw . Cheeseburger has no cheese , but you charged me 2.00 for it . I phone them back not 20 minutes later , but of course neither Sal, or Sharon his wife are there , they ve stepped out . I explain the situation to the voice on the phone , who of course hadn t identified himself , and he replies with a profanity concerning the missed items . He assured me that Sal or Sharon would call me back as soon as they returned , and 6 days later no return call, I called them back and decided to email them regarding what had happened, and yes hear I sit 6 days later , with no hint of any call back or return email. I ll write back if they bother to reach out via this review . If your gonna focus on charging 96 dollars for what I ordered , it stands to reason you should focus on getting the order correct. I lived up to my side of the bargain, six days later I m still waiting for you to live up to yours .

The food was terrible. Spent over 112$ and only enough for 2-3 people on take out. The food was tough and tasted like it was reheated. Would not visit here ever again. The tortillas provided were also hard and stail. Overall quality was terrible.

Worthwhile place to go back to. We were the first customers of the day as they were opening. Friendly staff, even though they were busy getting ready. The owner chatted with us about some of the changes they were planning for the upcoming breakfast menu, as they were working on transitioning from their summer menu to winter menu. We had both of the daily specials, a breakfast poutine and a brisket egg sandwich. They were delicious, and SIGNIFICANT portions (plenty of potatoes). We didnt fully finish both dishes. Not as overly salty as what others have said. The brisket was just a touch on the dry side, but it was blended in with a decent sauce and egg on the sandwich that made it work well. I also had my eye on a reuben going in... so I think I had it in my mind to see a stack of smoked meat on the poutine... but I wouldnt have needed it because it was already quite a bit to eat. Overall, it was a great experience, with respectable and interesting dishes compared to standard breakfast fare. Likely will make more regular trips there!

When we heard that The Smokin 116 Bistro & Bar had a new cook and a new menu we had to try it out and it was a fantastic experience!!! Excellent service, everyone at our table loved their meals, and it was the best mac and cheese Ive ever had. Were definitely going to eat there more often!!!

Good place to go

I have experienced the Smokin 116 Bistro 3 times now, and I will be back when my schedule and bank account allow. That being said I will say I am thankful Im a short drive away and I can join my wife here on lunch dates, as I feel it will become a regular spot for us, which is a feat to achieve because while we are both foodies, we are critics too, and the fact we will make this a regular spot should speak volumes. Expect quality cooked food packed full of flavor with every single bite. If the prices seem high, you will see why, or more so they are more than average if not a little on the low side, because in addition to quality flavor you get massive portions. Honestly as someone that can easily sit through a 7 course meal, their mac and cheese poutine is enough for two meals for me. I think the biggest downside to is I want to keep eating it even though I know I shouldnt cant and I have to force myself to stop. So quality food, massive portions, next is the environment and I will say if you want to feel like your going home and visiting family then come here. Sal, Al, and the entire staff will welcome you like family and show you the same, if not better, love you would get from your family. Even better, unlike other establishments, if you have a concern or issue with your meal or service just let them know and they will go above and beyond to correct it. So why 4/5? That is because I find the delivery experience is not the same as the dine in. Yes I know it is a different atmosphere and I know many things could happen during delivery, however I find the quality of the food is not the same, but that could because its being delivered in a container instead of served in an appropriate dish. I also have only had a very limited amount of their menu and if anyone knows me, they know before I even think of a full 5/5 I want to taste at least 3/4 of that menu. So to the Smokin 116 Bistro I say, expect to see me more and more, and keep doing what youre doing because it is amazing and I cant wait to introduce my tastebuds to more flavor filled bites.

We stopped for a get together with family had a great visit. The food was great along with the atmosphere. The server done a good job and so did all the entertainers. We will be back.

Its a wonderful place to make memories. One of the best live shows and karaoke nights in town. It caters to all needs such as breakfast, lunch and dinner. Vegetarian options: They have good options for vegetarians too. Parking: Parking is right outside. Kid-friendliness: They have a childrens menu. So bring in your kids.

We have been trying local restaurants and last night we tried 116 Bistro . Sadly we ordered 1/2 hour before closing. The sliders were OK, even good. The Mac and cheese was delicious. HOWEVER, the brisket was tough and full of hard gristle ( had to use a steak knife to cut thru the meat). The brisket slices were covered in a a bbq sauce that was added and was nasty...maybe it was meant to disguise the poorly cooked brisket. The coleslaw was good. HOWEVER, the french fries were rock hard and dry. Couldn t pick up with a fork. In fact,, when I pushed on the fries they crumbled. The fries looked like they had been sitting around for a while and had been reheated in an oven. Worst fries from a restaurant in along time. We paid good money $51.00. for supper. Sadly, this restaurant did not live up to their menu. I deliberated about sending this post, but my money is limited and I did not get my money s worth from this meal.

My boyfriend had the mushroom burger a couple weeks ago and he really liked it. We tried them again tonight and we were the last customers. The wait was quite long (around 40mins) and when we got home, the fries we very overcooked, the burgers were overdone and very salty. Kind of upset thats the outcome after spending $40.

I gotta say, my breakfast brisket sandwich was great, delicious BUT it was $10 and took over 20min to make two slices of lightly toasted bread, a fried egg and brisket.... no sides, nothing. That was a $5 sammy tops. Probs wont be back.

Wish I could do 0 stars..... Went this morning for breakfast.... Both had the same..... Prepaid.... We both didnt eat our food it was absolutely disgusting. It took 10 mins after receiving our food to get our coffees which were made improperly and filled with chunks..... Incredibly disappointed..... Paid for 2 meals and 2 coffees that got sent back, with no offer to reemburse.... We will not be back.

116 was still operating out of their food truck as of my visit (Sept 10), but the covered patio area was lovely and well shaded. I wasnt aware of the time when I arrived for my early lunch, but the young woman who was setting up was super gracious as I bugged her mid-prep to ask if/when they were open. I know the trend these days is for food trucks to go full gourmet, so I shouldnt be surprised as to the quality of the pulled pork sandwich I got, but I was a little. From placing my order to having it served couldntve been more than 10-15 minutes and it delicious. The bun was warm and positively STUFFED with pulled pork. The sauce dripped and it was delicious. (a good pulled pork sandwich should always drip) It came with coslaw and a massive portion of fries which were Als quite yummy. As I waited, the owner (or maybe manager?) came out to check that the music wasnt too loud and then followed up after my meal to ask how I found the food. He was very pleasant and informed me that the renovated restaurant should be reopened in time for when the weather turns too cold to enjoy the patio. Ill definitely be coming again to try the other tempting menu items.

Worst food Ive ever ordered & very unprofessional customer service. $70 down the drain for the BBQ platter that had a total of 3 bites. The food is shameful. No option to be refunded. Poor customer service. My husband and I are both chefs and massive foodies, it takes A LOT for us to not finish or eat a bad dish. Will not be going back and I dont recommend anybody go.

Ordered the pulled pork on a bun and was pleased with how it tasted. The BBQ sauce was just the right level of tangy and the meat was tender. The seasoned fries were a pleasant surprise, and disappeared quickly. Would definitely recommend.
