Came here with two kids, service was incredible they cut an avocado roll into not small pieces and brought it fast for my six year old. Maki was fantastic. Will be coming back for sure. Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian rolls. Kid-friendliness: They made a special avocado roll just for my kiddo.

Really good sushi joint. Im a sashimi fiend, their sashimi is super fresh and tasty. Im happy. Our other choices were equally good, but I was particularly excited to finally get top quality sashimi in Belleville. Minor quibbles: not licensed yet at time of writing, and the variety of fish types is a bit more limited than at good places in Toronto. Supply chain out in Belleville may be quite a challenge... Certainly not enough to dock a full star. We enjoyed the visit immensely and it is apparent we are not the only ones - the place was very busy even on an icy weekday night. Still a good peaceful ambiance and no wait even when quite full though.

My son and I visited for lunch today and it was our first time at the new location. The new space is beautiful and somehow the food tasted even better. My son enjoyed his nigiri & rolls while I had the Bi bim Bab with tofu and no egg (vegan friendly!).

I cant get over how fantastic the new Toro sushi spot on Dundas is, right across from the hospital. Ive had sushi everywhere, but this place is hands down the best. I adore the new location - the atmosphere is fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the food quality is simply outstanding.

I m so thrilled to see you back open. We ve been customers for many years. I am truly saddened that our favourite girl Crystal is no longer with you. She was so amazing to deal with and always had a smile on her face. We received many years of great service from her.

Best sushi restaurant in Belleville!

Not just the best Sushi in town but anywhere! Husband and I have been to the new location 2x this week already. Super friendly and kind staff

New location, no parking closed due to repaving. Did not see notice on Facebook until after our visit. There is no reservation, which I think is a mistake. If you have the problem of people skipping their reservation, take a $50 deposit. The green tea we had was like hot water. We had to ask for it to be made stronger. Tempura was good. Spring rolls were good. Salmon rolls and calaforna rolls were rolled to perfection. The new counter (sushi station) with the solid wall between the prep area and the restaurant takes away from the experience of your restaurant. Part of the entertainment of going to a restaurant is watching the food prep. Some appetizers were not available, and the sauce you used on the stir fry in the Bento box appeared to be watered down. You have a good thing going here, and after a few new opening glitches, you should have a great thing going for you.....good luck

I really wanted to give this place higher. The food was excellent. But the way its brought out for each person separate left my mom watching the rest of us eat for several (Im not sure exactly how long but it was noticeable and awkward) minutes before her meal came out. My dads appetizer came out after our meals. And the bento box my wife ordered was supposed to come with sushi that never came (shes shy and didnt mention it until we left to avoid making a scene), which can be blamed on us as we should have said something. All in all a little disappointed with the service but the food itself was great. Maybe the service will get better after being open a bit longer.

My wife and myself ate here tonight. All I have to say is WOW . We waited 30 mins for a table , no big deal. The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was great . You dont even think you are in Belleville . Much better than downtown where you worry about stepping on a syringe or getting stabbed. Parking was easy ..East end of town needs this . Only negative feedback was the lighting . The dinning room was lit up like a ball park. Its beautiful but the lighting could be turned down in the dinning room for more ambiance. Over all ...amazing . Worth the wait and worth the money . I wish them the best and now I have a restaurant I can walk too . I will be back ..thanks for opening a great restaurant that isnt a burger or wing joint .

Absolutely best Japanese / Korean restaurant in the area. The all you can eat places in town dont come close to the exceptional quality and value of Toro Sushi. Had the agedashi tofu (pictured) and the Hwae Dup Bab (essentially a Korean chopped sashimi and veg salad with rice- not pictured because I started eating it too quickly) and both were delicious. Service is fast and always great. Recommend if you re in Belleville for sure :)

This place has the best food ever!

Absolutely delicious sushi and sashimi. The wonton soup is huge. Well price for the quality and amount of food you get. Extremely quick service as well.

At 11:30 am the restaurant smelled like PineSol and burnt sesame oil. It was cold and dirty inside... the ladies room toilet was duct-taped to the floor - probably the dirtiest washroom on record. The wonton soup and sushi pizza I had were just okay - nothing to write home about. The indigestion followed me around for the rest of the afternoon. The $7.99 bottled Sapporo was flat and off color, like it had languished on the storeroom floor for 6 months or something. Somebody has set the bar damned low in Belleville to earn this place a Google rating of 4.6 - For $70- I could have bought a case of Sapporo and made a better pot of soup myself.

I can honestly say that this is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. I should have run after seeing that the toilet was duct taped to the floor! Unfortunately my husband had already ordered. Service was fine but a pretty dirty place.

I was told by my good friend Italo Labignan from Canadian Sportsfishing to come give this place a try since we were in the area because he was very impressed with this place. The food was indeed delicious however, I wished the rolls were a tad bigger for us hungry anglers. The staff were amazing and the restaurant was really clean which is a big plus. Hope to you see again soon.

Fast service and fresh food. Ive been twice in less then 2 weeks.

Food was pretty good, sushi tasted fresh, but the meal was extremelyexpensive for what it was. Only 3 stars because I got all the way home (30 min drive) to find no sushi or California rolls with the bento boxes ordered. So $29 (each!) for a small piece of teriyaki beef/salmon, plain rice, small salad, and sautéed cabbage. Not worth it for sure. I ordered sushi rolls to have for lunch the next day, but they ended up being part of dinner because of the missing bento sushi. Yaki udon was very good, but I didnt expect it to be soup... that may have been my misunderstanding. Would still eat it again, tho. Parking: Plenty of parking around 4pm on a Wednesday. Cant speak for other times/days.

Huge portion for the Udon. I elected to have the spicy beef udon and my daughter had the chicken. One dish cabin easily be served for two. I personally didnt find the spicy udon spicy at all, But absolutely delicious. We had sushi as well, and that was great.

Good food, but would not recommend this place. Ive been there a number of times and I know someone who worked there for a while. The front of house manager is explicitly racist. Especially to people of middle-eastern ethnicity. I would not support this business while it still chooses to employ someone with these values. The servers are also treated poorly. Watch your food.

*Updated below after reading owner response We are very disappointed that such a well-known and established restaurant in Belleville has not improved their menu to welcome vegan patrons. Out of over 170 items on the menu, there were only three options that could be vegan, all of them maki rolls. This is unacceptable. The world is changing (for the better) and restaurants need to keep up or lose patronage. We will not be ordering from here again. *Update: We are happy that there are more than three vegan options. However, you need to inform your employees of these options. I called in advance (my non-vegan friends wanted to order from here so I wanted to know my options) and was given the following three options as the ONLY vegan options: avocado rolls, cucumber rolls, and avocado/cucumber rolls. I really wish I had been told that I could get the edamame or the Bibam bal. My review would have been very different. Please make sure all employees know how to advise customers accurately. And please consider adding this information to your menu (online and in the restaurant). We will now be willing to try again. Our non-vegan friends think very highly of your restaurant.

I cant speak for anything specifically vegan, but there are plenty of vegetarian options Parking: Its street parking, for the most part; though there are usually spaces and theres a paid parking lot not far away if youre struggling to find adequate free parking out front Kid-friendliness: I go here with my niece and nephew a lot, both under 10, and theyre always able to find something here to eat even though they both are extremely picky.

We were visiting in Belleville and noticed Toro Sushi. We decided to try it and we were so happy we did. We didn t catch the name of the server but we were there on April 15. She was wonderful and so helpful. We will definitely go there again. Highly recommended.

We went for my sons birthday. This was hands down some of the best sushi/sashimi weve had. Very fresh. Staff was very friendly. Service was quick. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Do yourself a favor and check out Toro Sushi. There is more on the menu than just Sushi. Japanese/Korean Fusion is the cuisine. The staff is helpful and friendly. Alcoholic beverages are served too.

The sushi was excellent. Definitely try the crunch roll. Im not sure if the Wasabi is the real thing. It tried to take my head off, which real Wasabi doesnt do. But once I put it on my sushi, it was delicious. Sushi is supposed to be served with young ginger that is tender and not very hot. My first piece was hotter than hot and was chewy. Naughty naughty, I think someone might be making their own with grocery store ginger, which is old. The service was excellent, all questions where answered and I was offered to try one of the sauces before I ordered the dish. It turned out to be to hot so I appreciate the courtesy and got something else. Thats the treatment that keeps you going back. This was my first time here and we enjoyed ourselves. Even the people across from us where courteous and delightful to talk to. Great time. Sorry for the photo of an empty plate, it was yummy. Take care, God bless. Its really good...and the best in Belleville...but it is very expensive when compared to places like Sima sushi in Kingston (I get it...smaller market, ingredients.. etc) But seriously...its really good...but you will drop like 100$ for dinner with 2 adults and 2 young kids.

Food was good, maybe great but I dont know much about sushi! The server was very knowledgeable at helping us with the food choices since we didnt know the name, and the beer was nice and cold.

She knows her customers so well and always makes sure your experience is great whether it s your first ever visit or your 100th. We have been coming for many years and we are disappointed when we don t have Crystal as our server. She guides new to Sushi people and respects those of us who order the same thing with some specific substitutions. Toro would never be the same without her! We have brought many people to Toro over the years and she quickly becomes their favourite server in town!!! Vegetarian options: Our daughter is a vegetarian and Toro is her favourite place to visit when she comes back to Canada!

The sushi is fresh and properly cut. The selection of the menu is generous and leaves room for choices if youre feeling picky. The price is comparative to the excellence of the food. The staff were insightful and friendly. Highly suggest this spot for a quiet date or a lunch/supper date with friends.

Our go to sushi place! Only 1 mediocre experience, November 7/23 at lunch time, a blond waitress that almost seemed exasperated that we had our 9 month old with us. Crystal, the wonderful waitress we normally have, always makes us feel welcome and engages with our little one. Even the cooks went above and beyond and brought her out her own little plate of cucumber to munch on! Good prices and amazing food!

This was my first time at Toro. Service was good, and I like the cozy authentic feeling atmosphere. I genuinely think that this is the best sushi in Belleville. That being said, the bar is a bit low in the area tbh. Im always on the lookout for a good variety of different fish when I go out for sushi. There is more selection here than anywhere else in the city, so thats great. I only had nigiri and it was acceptable, but nothing exciting. I would still recommend this as the best sushi in town. Vegetarian options: Great tempura.

Everything about it was great. I was surprised because small town sushi...well I went in with very low expectations but staff were personable, service was prompt, and the sushi was very good. Definite repeat.

We live in Kingston and drive to Belleville just to go to Toro. The sushi is the best we ve ever had. Crystal is an amazing waitress. She always takes care of us. She is honest and she knows the menu well. All of the staff are very friendly.

Toro Sushi has very quickly become a family favourite for our dinner nights out. Not only is the food delicious but the cozy atmosphere and excellent staff make it an enjoyable night out. Our server Crystal is always smiling and makes excellent recommendations whenever we are undecided. Kitchen staff is very attentive youll always get a friendly hello when you walk in the door! Quiet little small eatery

im a very picky cost to value ratio. i swear i would never spend this type of money on take out like this but it was phenomenol quality. everything is fresh from scratch and the fish on toro roll was smoke/grilled high quality and not loaded with filler rice. beef Yaki stir fry was seasoned and sauced perfectly with good ratios. have been to every other place in belleville and they do not compare to half the quality of Toro

Fresh food, always tastes great. If you want a quick snack be sure to stop by their sister store in the Quinte Mall, Oishi Sushi. They carry alot of the specialty maki rolls and some sushi as well. Will always be my go to spot. Great staff as well. Always very friendly and welcoming!

Toro is the ONLY place in town that my Family will order from! Fresh and always delish! Supporting local! Our only complaint is that the rolls are not rolled tightly and fall apart easily! This is extremely frustrating for my family

Ordered a Bento box with beef teriyaki. The Maki rolls were delicious with creamy avocado, crispy cucumber and delicious crab. The salmon rolls were incredibly fresh and also delicious. And lastly, the beef teriyaki was flavorful and wonderfully cooked.

Id say the highest quality, tastiest sushi in the Quinte area.

I was more than surprised to find this quality sushi in Belleville and thats saying something as I lived in Vancouver for a year. The rice was perfect, the fish fresh and the rolls were inventive and really, *really* good. We had the double torched roll topped with scallop and tuna(may have been salmon but either way it was FANTASTIC) and I had negi-toro and negi-hamachi which I havent even seen in a decade. I recommend Toro Sushi in Belleville for great service, fantastic food and unforgettable sushi in a small Ontario town.

Just picked up a $13.99 order of Bulgogi Beef. What I got was a tasteless, no season, cup of boiled beef. No sauce, just tasted like water and was unchewable! The California Roll had obviously been made a day previous as the avocado is black in it. Disgusting. Shame on you.

Fantastic experience, we came because of the good reviews and had to leave another good one. The bento box was as tasty and filling as it was appealing to look at. Attached pic is of my empty bento box.

Not only is the food absolutely delicious but the staff are super helpful . They are willing to answer any of your questions. As I am pregnant i wanted to make sure I could eat the miso soup or not and they went out of their way to find out if it was pasteurized or not. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone out there. The food is amazing and so delicious.

Nice sushi store, the food is always good and the servers are acceptable

Weve been coming here since it opened and it has always been really good. Amazing selection of fish and always fresh. The owners are such nice people and always very friendly and welcoming. . However, the restaurant manager, Crystal, has an attitude something awful. The last time we came into the restaurant she was very rude and went out of her way to make us feel as through we were not welcome. So, sadly, we won t be coming back here again. Daniel and his family are lovely, but if their manager hates her job that much that she can t put her attitude aside long enough to be hospitable to customers, then maybe it s time to move on to another job.

Had me wait 40 minutes for a table took down my name and number. I missed their call and called back within a minute to have them tell me to wait 15 more minutes. Terrible service, and a great way to lose business.

I am changing my 5 star review to 1 for the restaurant owner and staff were extremely rude to me. We ve been coming here for years a couple times a month ordering and tipping generously, and recommending them, but today I had the worst experience in a restaurant ever. They made a mistake, I even came back so they could fix it, and what I heard was not a genuine sorry, but you shouldn t come back , and trust me - I won t. (Just adding a picture of the mostly eaten order from today - the last one from this restaurant).

I am so sad to be leaving this review. Toro sushi used to be our absolute favorite. We probably go almost once per week, certainly a couple times a month minimum, order a lot, always tip 20-25% even on takeout, bring our out of town friends there, celebrate family occasions there, etc. We were your 5-Star regulars, Promoters as they say in the marketing world. And tonight, you lost us forever. And we re still stunned trying to understand it. You made a small mistake in our to-go order. When we got home and realized, we called. The response was neutral at best, and you simply had us place another order and come back for more. Okay, a little disappointing, but we waited the time with the rest of the food on the table already, and came back. My wife was met with the strangest and most unpleasant restaurant interaction you could imagine. You yelled at her, and told her not to come back. Why??? We remain exceptionally confused. We ve always received fine service from you, and the same host/server we recognize from many years of happy outings. But she and the owner basically told-off my wife when she went back for the second order. Why did you need to do that? You made a small error, you just had to make the rest of the missing food, adjust the price to reflect the correct original order (we would have owed you some extra money because essentially the mistake was that you gave us less than we ordered but you also charged us less so fine, we owe you the difference of course.) But instead of a simple sorry about the inconvenience, thanks for coming back, here s the bill for the difference you yelled at her and practically threw her out? I m dumbfounded. This server we ve seen for years and the owner both. I don t understand it. I m F&B industry myself, and this sorry absolutely baffles me. I know what kind of customers we are, what kind of staff you have, and I cannot figure it out. We thought we knew you. Sadly our evening is now consumed with understanding how we will solve our sushi needs moving forward because you were truly the only good sushi place in the area. The rest are simply not good quality. And we eat a lot of sushi :( So we might be taking weekly drives to Kingston I guess now to resolve this. Very sad compared to the 5 minute walk to Toro. Tonight I feel in mourning. Why d ya have to do it?

The food is fresh and delicious. I especially loved the sashimi rolls! So fresh you can discern each individual flavour! So wonderful to find this gem in our little town!

Best Sushi in the area by a long shot. Friendly and efficient staff.

Toro catered our annual Christmas party again and the food was outstanding! Delicious!
